Cas maneuvered around his brother, setting the table and pulling out 3 beers as Jimmy finished grilling up a couple of burgers. They weren’t as good as Dean’s, but the burgers were a surprise for their boyfriend. And don’t even mention the pie warming in the oven. Apple, his favorite.“Do you think he suspects?” Jimmy asked nervously. “I just, I want this to be a surprise.”Cas paused, rubbing a hand down Jimmy’s back soothingly. “Jimmy, calm down. If Dean’s not surprised, it’ll be because he has all the faith in the world in you.”Jimmy nodded. “You’re right. Of course you’re right.”“Besides,” Cas tossed over his shoulder, “He’s bound to figure out something is up when you’ve cooked him all his favorite foods.” Jimmy’s eyes widened at the realization but before he could react, the front door opened and they heard the scrape of Dean’s boots as he toed them off and hung his coat. Within moments, he stood in the doorway to the kitchen, sniffing the air.“Something smells heavenly!” he grinned, moving forward again to catch the twins in a tight hug, nuzzling between them. They both melted into Dean with a happy sigh.Abruptly, Dean pulled back and looked at Jimmy with narrowed eyes. Jimmy tried to hold his gaze and keep a calm face, just like Cas, but he failed. His mouth twitched into a big ass grin and Dean’s mouth dropped.“Oh my GOD! Did you get it? Tell me you got it?” Dean pleaded excitedly.“Yeah, I got the call last night…” Jimmy managed.“And you didn’t tell me till now?” Dean asked in disbelief.“Well, we wanted to surprise you with it,” Jimmy took out his phone, pulling up a picture. “They shipped it out this morning via special couriers. Should be in hand by the end of the week. I really didn’t want to tell you though. Cas and I wanted to have it in hand to give it to you.”“I don’t care. You guys are the best boyfriends ever!” Dean shouted gleefully before planting wet, sloppy – but very enthusiastic – kisses on both twins.Dinner was cold by the time they got back to it, but Dean didn’t care. Who else had boyfriends so awesome, they’d hunt down the rarest Led Zeppelin memorabilia when Dean couldn’t find it* and then buy it – sparing no expense?Good thing he was planning on going just as all out as they had for their 5-year anniversary.
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
It was mid-October when Jimmy heard the worst words ever, his stomach lurching as he forced a smile on his face.“I hope you like horror movies,” Dean grinned, waving a handful of DVD’s in the air.Cas knew Jimmy wasn’t a fan, but neither Cas nor Dean knew that Jimmy really wasn’t a fan. In fact, he hated them. The problem was, he had too good of an imagination, and he couldn’t sleep after he’d seen a horror movie. His last experience had given him nightmares for a week and set him off horror movies completely.Somehow, though, Jimmy had managed to avoid them but tonight seemed inevitable. Dean popped popcorn with extra salt and butter while Cas deliberated over the enormous decision of which to watch before popping it in, tasking Jimmy with getting the blankets and the beer.Jimmy knew he could say no, but he got the others to go along with enough of his crazy schemes they clearly weren’t into, that he figured it was only fair.Soon, they were settled on the couch, Dean in the middle like normal, popcorn on his lap and the three of them snuggled down in blankets. Neither Jimmy nor Cas recognized the title of this movie: ‘Funny Games’.“I’ve never actually seen this either,” Dean said as the movie started, “But I googled for scariest movies ever, and this one came up.”Well, that didn’t bode well.It didn’t take long for Jimmy to tense up and start silently freaking out. The movie hitting a little too close to home, pinging his own natural fears. Beer and popcorn long forgotten, Jimmy pressed into Dean for comfort, unaware of the death grip he had on the man’s arm, his uneven breathing or of his thousand-yard stare.“Fuck! Ouch, Jimmy! What the hell - ?” Jimmy was so far gone, he didn’t hear Dean’s words, or feel him shift to face him, or see his expression turn to worry, “Shit, Cas turn it off! Jimmy! Jimmy, you okay? Talk to me man, please?”Suddenly, instead of being one of Dean’s matching bookends, Jimmy was being sandwiched between his worried boyfriends, hands rubbing at his back, fingers threading and scratching through his hair. They held him tight and whispered soothing words until he came back to himself. He winced when he did but took comfort in their touch, their presence, their loving words. In the end, horror night was over, and the three of them moved back into the bedroom, Dean and Cas each doing their best to assure Jimmy that they were there for him and didn’t think any less of him for his reaction.“Of course, next time one of us proposes something that another doesn’t like, I expect some speaking up to be happening,” Castiel admonished gently, placing a kiss on Jimmy’s head. He turned his glare to Dean, “That includes you, Winchester.”“What? I speak up!” Dean protested.Cas rolled his eyes and even Jimmy snorted, “Need I remind you what happened at the airport last year?”Dean blushed and ducked his head down to hide in Jimmy’s hair as the twins laughed lightly. Relaxing between Dean and Cas, Jimmy sighed and closed his eyes, simply relishing in being held.He still hated horror movies, but this was pure heaven.
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
“Please don’t do this…” Dean begged the twins as they stalked towards him with matching evil grins and twinkling eyes.“Oh no, Winchester –““-there’s no getting out of it now –““-you are going down-““- and we don’t mean, you know what…” with a waggle of his eyebrows, Jimmy gave himself away.“Though of course, that’s always an option for later,” the gravelly voice of Castiel ran a shiver down his spine.Dean groaned as he backed away, trying to stay clear. The twins were always doing this to him. Killing him with innuendo and suggestive, teasing looks. God, how he wished he could take them up on their pretend offers. One of these days, they’d figure out it wasn’t so much a game to him. Dean dreaded that day because he knew how disgusted they would be if they knew they both centered in his fantasies. Heedless of Dean’s thoughts, the two identical men continued to advance on him.“If you survive this, of course,” Jimmy’s grin widened as Dean backed into the wall of the pool house and he and Cas each grabbed an arm and yanked. Dean set his heels but he was no match for their combined strengths and within minutes, maybe even seconds, he was tossed into the deep end of the pool.He rose to the surface, spluttering to find Cas diving in gracefully and Jimmy doubled over in laughter.“You guys don’t fight fair,” Dean complained as he tread water. He jerked back as the water in front of him parted and Cas was in his space.Really, really in his space. Dean gulped and tried not to look down at Castiel’s lips which always seemed to be perpetually chapped, in contrast to Jimmy.“Jimmy and I don’t play by the rules, Dean. We never have.” Castiel intoned gravelly, almost drowned out by the loud splash of Jimmy hitting the water. In seconds, Jimmy was beside his brother, both of them in Dean’s space.“In fact, thought that’s what you liked about us, isn’t it?” Jimmy asked, his voice lower than normal, approaching Cas-like.“Well, uh, yeah…?” Dean couldn’t really deny that, but why were they so close to him? He couldn’t think, his brain fritzing out, but if they got any closer, they’d be able to tell exactly what they were doing to him. In fact, Dean might not be able to get out of the water any time soon.“Dean,” Cas said, leaning closer, their noses almost touching, Dean’s eyes wide. “We really don’t play by the rules. When are you going to figure that out and just – “ his eyes looked down and he licked his lips.“ – kiss us already,” Jimmy’s hoarse whisper echoed in his ear and Dean groaned. He had one moment of panic as he realized they’d figured him out –And then realized it didn’t even fucking matter because they wanted it too.“Oh…thank fuck,” he whispered back before darting forward to share the sloppiest, hottest kiss he’d ever had as he tried to kiss both twins at once.Everyone got on board fairly quickly after that.
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
Jimmy was going crazy. That had to be the explanation for the glitter he’d just found in his bed.He stood there, naked and befuddled, scratching his head.Cas was gonna kill him and he didn’t even have a good reason for why there was glitter there at all. They didn’t even own any glitter. Sure, it looked pretty and Jimmy wouldn’t deny a love of sparkly things, but the stuff was insidious. Even if Jimmy managed to clean it up, he could never get it all – he’d be finding it everywhere till the day they moved out for bigger pastures.Aka, a house that could fit 3 grown men a lot more comfortably than this tiny ass apartment. In the meantime, there’d be no hiding this from his brother since it was his bed too. And even aside from that, Jimmy was sure he’d find more glitter when he was least expecting it – outside of the bed.It would be waiting, lurking, ready to pounce on any unsuspecting person.Yup. Cassie was gonna kill him when he finally returned from Japan. Jimmy wouldn’t even be able to pin it on Dean this time, since Dean was off visiting Sam at Stanford.Fuck, Jimmy was lonely. Getting stuck at home because he couldn’t get the time off sure as hell sucked. The wave of loneliness washed over him and he scrambled for his phone. He had the messaging app open and a group text started before he paused and realized that he had to be very careful what to say. He didn’t want his boyfriends to be worrying about him – or even worse, cut their trips short just because he was a little lonely. He just needed a little attention. With a smirk, he realized that even though Cas would kill him, this was currently funny and the most perfect out of the blue text excuse ever. But there was a way to make this even better. He ran around the apartment with his phone, snapping pictures here and there. Some with careful planning, some a bit more haphazardly. Returning to the bedroom, he flopped into the mess of glitter and took one last photo with a big ass grin. Then his fingers started flying over the nonexistent keys of his phone. From Jimmy: Living alone for 4 weeks has given me unrealistic expectations of pantslessness. From Jimmy: Also, our bed has glitter in it for reasons I do not recall. Then he sent the photos. All of them. Even the bad ones. He started giggling as he imagined his boyfriend’s reactions.Ah, now if only there wasn’t several time zones between them all. Dean was probably sleeping in, so he’d miss the texts and the slew of photos until who knew when…and at 13 hours ahead of him, Cas may very well have gone to bed already. With a sigh, Jimmy set to cleaning up the glitter from the bed. Grabbing the small vacuum, he did that first before ripping all the sheets and blankets off the bed and shoving them in the washer. Next step was the shower because seriously, he was covered in fucking glitter.Moping, and feeling lonely again, he headed into the bathroom and got the water going with full intent to get it nice and steamy. He stepped in under the spray and bowed his head, closing his eyes, just letting the hot water pound over him.A familiar hand slid around him and he leaned back into the warm body behind him even as a second slipped in place in front of him, reaching out to cup Jimmy’s face in their hands.“Fuckin’ glitter man, what was that all about?” Dean mumbled in his ear, pressing against Jimmy’s back.Jimmy sighed and gave a half shrug. “I ‘unno…mmm…what are you both doing back so early?”“Missed you,” Cas rumbled against his lips. “From the pictures of you naked all over the apartment, I’d guess the feeling was mutual.”Jimmy squinted his eyes open and he looked at his brothers’ face, then craned his neck to look at Dean. “Did you guys arrange this?”“Maybe,” Dean hedged with a smile, “and Cas is right. From the looks of things, we got home none too soon.”“Well, I’m certainly not gonna argue…” Jimmy grinned, the loneliness he’d tried to wash away with the glitter was more than gone – and he had Dean and Cas to thank for that. And a few hours later, when his boyfriends discovered that they, too, now had glitter on various body parts, despite the shared shower, they had him to thank for that. But Jimmy really did wish he knew where the glitter had come from. And why. Some things would ever remain a mystery.
