Jeongguk hates parties. Not because they
are
parties, but because he never knows what to do at them. There can be lots of people or a small group of people. It can be littered with snacks and beer or it can be vegetables all around.
It’s the
vibe
he has trouble with. When he shows up, he feels like he sticks out. A sore thumb. A housecat amongst lions. He feels like he’s never wearing the right things, doing the right thing, or acting like the right thing.
For example, today. Or night, actually. Technically, the party had started in the late afternoon, but Namjoon decides to drag him way late into the party when everyone’s already feeling good and comfortable. Which is around eleven. Not to mention, it’s a beach house. Everyone wants to party at a beach house.
So he sits on the couch, having stole the bowl of chips for himself, and feeling lucky that no one seems to mind him just sitting there. No one talks to him or converses with him. He’d lost Namjoon twenty minutes ago, somewhere. He assumes the man is on the dancefloor causing a scene.
He doesn’t recognise many faces, not really. People start handing him half-drank beer cans, like he’s some kind of beer can holder. Like they can sense he’s not moving anytime soon. Except, no one talks to him.
The bowl is half gone when someone actually decides to sit down next to him.
“You good?” they ask, and it takes a second for Jeongguk to register that it’s him they’re talking to.
“Relatively,” Jeongguk says, loud enough to be heard over the music. The person that’s sat down is clad in a oversized white sweater and has white hair to match it. Round spectacles on a round face, with a gummy grin.
“Don’t like parties?”
“No.” The person shrugs.
“Min Yoongi,” they introduce themselves, and hold out a hand for Jeongguk to shake.
“Jeon Jeongguk,” Jeongguk decides to respond, shaking the offered hand and figuring that if this guy is this polite compared to everyone else, he can’t be that bad.
“You want to get out of here?” Yoongi asks after a few minutes of silence - or at least as silent as it can get with all the noise around him - and points to the half-empty chip bowl, “Or are you working on those chips for the rest of the night?”
“Honestly, before you, the chips were my only salvation,” Jeongguk sighs, and puts it aside. “Sure, let’s go.”
Yoongi leads him outside and suddenly, Jeongguk can breathe. It’s warm outside until the wind blows, and Jeongguk pulls his jacket closer.
“Beach?” Yoongi suggests, and Jeongguk sighs before he nods and Yoongi starts leading them down a pathway. “So, how d’you know Seokjin?”
“Who’s Seokjin?” Jeongguk questions, and Yoongi laughs.
“Guess you were dragged here against your will.” Jeongguk chuckles and nods.
“That I was. My friend Namjoon decided I had to stop playing video games on my days off and live a little. Frankly, I think he knew I’d be the designated driver when the night was through.” Jeongguk shrugs, “Y’know, unless he found someone else to drive him home.” Jeongguk looks over to Yoongi. “You know the guy who owns the beach house?”
“I know his girlfriend,” Yoongi nods. “She comes into the record store to buy him new stuff every once in awhile. She wanted me to come as a thanks for being so nice to her.”
“Oh, that’s sweet.”
“Very.” Silence stretches. “How old are you?” Jeongguk giggles.
“Making sure I’m of age?” Jeongguk teases, and Yoongi shakes his head as he starts down the rocks towards where an opening of sand is. Not close enough for the water to touch them, but not far enough away to not hear it.
“Well, if that’s how you’re going to be, I might as well call it a night,” Yoongi huffs with a laugh, and Jeongguk jumps the rocks down after him.
“‘m 21,” Jeongguk states. “So,
very
much of age. And you are?”
“Your hyung, apparently. I’m a full three years older than you.”
“Ooh, going straight to
hyung status.
Must think you’re something special.” Yoongi crosses his arms as he sits down in the sand.
“Shut up and sit down,” Yoongi directs, harsh but playful, and Jeongguk chuckles as he sits next to him.
“What record store do you work at?”
“Corner of fifth, next to the Starbucks,” Yoongi nods. “At the least, I can go get a coffee at a high price when it’s slow.”
“You work at the store that has the radio station in it?” Yoongi laughs and nods.
“Sure do.
DJ Suga
at your service.” Jeongguk snaps his fingers and points.
“I
thought
I recognised your voice!” Jeongguk lets out a noise of satisfaction and Yoongi nudges him with his feet. “Who’s the guy that does the nighttime shows?”
“That’s Hoseok. Guy doesn’t sleep practically ever. Stations at night, works in the day, and days off, he spends every waking minute in a recording studio.”
“Mm. Sounds like a handful.” Yoongi giggles and nods.
“Sure is.” He nudges Jeongguk again with his foot. “Where do you work?”
“Art store.”
“You’re an artist?”
“If I tried, sure.” Jeongguk shrugged. “I mean, I know the logistics of art and everything. Like, brushes, paints, canvas, but... Ah, I don’t know, I try to paint or draw and it just never comes out how I like it.”
“You should show me sometime, I’ll bet they’re great.” Jeongguk motions to his pocket.
“I got pictures. You really want to see?” Yoongi doesn’t say anything as he edges himself towards Jeongguk and Jeongguk laughs, pulling out his phone and getting to the photo gallery.
“Are those boobs?” Yoongi asks about the second painting.
“Yes,” Jeongguk laughs. “I call it
‘Hollyboob Hills’.”
“Ooh, interesting name. Bet it’ll sell for billions.” Yoongi leans his head on Jeongguk’s shoulder and sighs, waving his hand dismissively. “Show me more.”
Jeongguk scrolls through the folder holding all the pictures of his, albeit mediocre, art. A painting made with an edamame shell, one with various dripping watercolours. A few pencil drawings of hands and eyes.
“You’re pretty good,” Yoongi concludes. “I’d buy it.”
“Just for saying it’s good, I should give it to you for free,” Jeongguk jokes, and Yoongi makes a noise of denial.
“No, no, it’s really good, trust me.” Yoongi adjusts against Jeongguk’s side and breathes out through his nose. “You’re
really
good.”
“Thanks.” It goes intrinsically silent and they take that to listen to their surroundings, which consists of waves against water and rocks and the shouts of other people that are probably also from the party.
Jeongguk’s phone goes off with a text and he navigates to the messaging.
Namjoon:
hey where did you go?
“That Namjoon?” Yoongi questions, and Jeongguk nods, feeling Yoongi shuffle against him.
“Yeah,” Jeongguk nods again.
“You got to go?”
“No.” Yoongi turns his head and Jeongguk turns his body. They’re not far apart. “He’s not the boss of me.”
“Then who is?” Jeongguk laughs loudly. “Hey, you left a party with a stranger. An older stranger. I could be a serial killer.”
“So could I,” Jeongguk nods, “but I don’t want to get the beach red with blood, so...” Yoongi chuckles as he turns into Jeongguk’s shoulder and Jeongguk manages to throw an arm around his shoulders.
“What do you plan on doing, then, if you’re not going to meet back up with Namjoon?” Yoongi questions, showing his face again.
Jeongguk kisses Yoongi without thinking about it. And yeah, it’s a stranger he’s kissing, and he’s drank absolutely no alcohol tonight. He can tell Yoongi hasn’t either, which is reassuring to know when Yoongi kisses him back. It’s reassuring to know that his mind is clear from any sort of narcotic or chemical, except the natural ones.
Jeongguk’s phone goes off again and Yoongi pulls off first, letting Jeongguk check again.
Namjoon:
at least tell me what youre doing so i know youre safe
“I’m surprised he’s still coherent,” Jeongguk chuckles out, and Yoongi nods.
“...We can go to my house,” Yoongi suggests hesitantly, and Jeongguk purses his lips.
“But is that what I should
tell
him?” Jeongguk tilts his head.
“You said that he’s not the boss of you.” Jeongguk smiles.
“True.”
Jeongguk:
ill be fine, i met someone at the party im hanging out with them now at the beach but we’re going to their house in a bit
“Mm, good.”
Namjoon:
who are they, do i know them?
Jeongguk:
just a guy, a nice guy, we’re hanging out
Namjoon:
...ok
“Will he be worried about you for the rest of the night?” Yoongi questions, and Jeongguk shakes his head.
“Not if he can help it,” Jeongguk confirms. “But I’m not a kid to him anymore. He knows that.”
Namjoon:
be safe, text me later
Jeongguk: promise, ill be fine. dont you dare think about driving home eitherNamjoon: then remember to take the car home mr. dryJeongguk: call if you need to be picked upNamjoon: ok mom
“Sounds like he’s more of a kid than you are,” Yoongi says, and Jeongguk turns to kiss him again, shoving his phone back into his pocket.
“Where’s this house you were talking about?” Jeongguk asks against his lips, and Yoongi gently pushes him off.
“If I could breathe for a second, I’d tell you,” Yoongi teases gently. “Did you drive here?”
“Mm-hm.”
“Good, we can take your car because I don’t have a ride.” Jeongguk laughs and Yoongi starts to stand, brushing off sand from his dark-wash jeans and pulling Jeongguk up with him.
They walk with their forefingers entwined, swinging their arms in big motions back and forth. No one looks at them funny, no one spares them a comment. They seem normal enough.
“There’s Namjoon,” Jeongguk points out to Yoongi, jabbing his finger to his right towards a group of people. Namjoon spots them and Jeongguk waves, then nods to Yoongi, who also waves.
“Seems fun,” Yoongi grins, and Namjoon waves them away towards the car, going back to his drinking game or
whatever
it is he’s doing.
Jeongguk leads them both towards the small red
Saturn
sitting in the midst of the rest of the parked cars, opening the door for Yoongi to get in before he gets behind the wheel himself.
“Alright, hyung,” Jeongguk quips, putting a lilt to his voice, “direct me.”
In this case, Yoongi’s house isn’t far, and they arrive in just under ten minutes at an apartment building.
“You’re lucky my roommate isn’t home,” Yoongi laughs as he gets out of the car and walks towards the gate, Jeongguk tailing. “Mm, hold on.”
Yoongi leans and kisses Jeongguk lightly, holding his face with his hands, Jeongguk having to lean down, and it’s cliché and soft and the right amount of lips before they break apart and Yoongi chuckles to himself.
“Okay, let’s go,” Yoongi nods, fiddling for his keys and unlocking the loud metal gate, the creaking on the hinges making Jeongguk cringe. “I’m up on the third floor.” Jeongguk takes Yoongi’s hand in his as he’s tugged along the short pathway and across the grass before they’re practically bounding up two sets of stairs, giggling like teenagers until they reach what must be Yoongi’s apartment.
“Where’s your roommate if not here?” Jeongguk questions as Yoongi goes to open the door.
“He’s at the party,” Yoongi says. “He won’t mind, I’m sure.”
“And his name is...”
“Oh. Taehyung.” Yoongi pushes the door open and Jeongguk toes off his shoes and sets them aside on the waiting carpet. Jeongguk hums and pulls up his phone when it goes off another time.
Namjoon:
hey i met up with jimin from work here
Jeongguk: alright be safe
Namjoon:
you with that guy?
Jeongguk: yeah i promise ill text you tomorrowNamjoon: ok
Jeongguk shuts the door behind him and then hits it with his back when Yoongi lunges at him, a lot less chaste than earlier. Yoongi bites at his lips and Jeongguk smiles into it. Then Yoongi pulls back.
“...Is this okay?” he asks hesitantly, and Jeongguk can’t help but laugh.
“It depends,” Jeongguk muses. “Are we going to stay here, against the door? Or are we going to your bedroom?” It’s probably the least safe-for-work thing either has said tonight, but Yoongi grins wide and starts pulling a giggling Jeongguk away into what he assumes is Yoongi’s room. It matches him, somehow.
“Take this off,” Yoongi laughs, struggling to pull away Jeongguk’s jacket.
“Give me a
second,”
Jeongguk chuckles back, pulling away to try and slip off his jacket, his arms getting caught. Somehow, he doesn’t feel like he’s in a hurry. Honestly, he doesn’t mind if they take their time.
With combined effort through laughs, Jeongguk’s jacket comes off, along with his shirt, and Jeongguk leans to start tugging at Yoongi’s sweater, pulling it up and finding that there is no shirt underneath.
“God, no
wonder
you were shivering,” Jeongguk says, and Yoongi frowns, getting his head caught in the hole before he manages to slip it off.
“Leave me alone,” Yoongi pouts before he smiles with a laugh, pushing Jeongguk backwards to the bed, where he falls with a huff of air and a grin. “Hold on, I got to find the stuff.”
“You mean it’s not just laying around like in the movies?” Jeongguk says as he watches Yoongi shuffle around the room.
“I can’t remember where I put it all.” Yoongi scratches at his head and snaps his fingers, leaving the room entirely. Jeongguk laughs loudly when he hears a crash and Yoongi comes back with a tube and a single condom. “Got it.”
“What’d you break?”
“Only my pride.” Jeongguk laughs hard and falls onto his back, hardly noticing that Yoongi’s started to straddle him. Yoongi swats at his chest to get him to stop. “Stop
laughing
at me!”
“I’m not, I’m
not!”
Jeongguk shakes his head, “It’s just cute is all, really.” Yoongi drops the items on the bed and crosses his arms. “Really, you’re cute.”
“I’m about to be
uncute
in five seconds if you’d let me continue and stop laughing,” Yoongi says, with faux malice because he’s smiling, unable to contain it.
“Okay,
okay.
I’m okay.” Jeongguk laughs one last time for good measure, getting it out of his system before Yoongi leans to kiss him again. It’s slow, mesmerising almost, like watching the sea they had just seen a mere thirty or so minutes ago. Maybe that’s really cheesy but Jeongguk doesn’t care all that much. Yoongi’s lips are soft.
“Can I take these off now?” Yoongi asks against his tongue, hands fiddling with both of their jeans, and Jeongguk manages a nod. Yoongi adjusts, attempting to take off the jeans while still straddling him, and Jeongguk just laughs again. It’s beautiful in some weird, fun way, and Jeongguk nudges Yoongi off so he can take off the denim himself.
“Impractical, I know,” Jeongguk nods, motioning to the skinny jeans.
“Hence why I wear bell-bottoms,” Yoongi nods back, undoing the buttons on his and slipping them off easily before Jeongguk’s halfway to practically peeling off his jeans.
“God,
let me help you.”
“Wait, I got-” Jeongguk yelps with a laugh as Yoongi grabs onto the denim and pulls, sending Jeongguk’s legs in the air. Yoongi laughs as he tugs, and no, it’s not the best way to take them off, but it’s
definitely
the best way.
“You were taking too long,” Yoongi adds as he goes to slip off Jeongguk’s socks, too, then his own.
“I was teasing,” Jeongguk responds as Yoongi crawls back to his lap.
“You were
stuck,”
Yoongi corrects, kissing him once more. “Skinny jeans are impractical.”
“God,
you’re
impractical,” Jeongguk frowns as Yoongi moves to his neck and bites softly, earning a mix between a whine and a giggle. He’s elated and happy, along with being slightly aroused despite their roughhousing.
“Shut up.” Yoongi squeezes his bicep and Jeongguk’s muscle flexes. “My
God.”
“You like muscles?”
“I like you and you have muscles, so sure.” Jeongguk lets out another laugh and moves to run his fingers through the hair at the nape of Yoongi’s neck, Yoongi sighing and ceasing his neck-bites. He lifts his head and Jeongguk points to his own eyes.
“Think you should take those off before you break ‘em,” he says. “Or do you have really bad eyesight?”
“They’re not real,” Yoongi shakes his head, slipping the glasses off and tossing them to the side. “But they go with the outfit.” Jeongguk smiles at the face unobscured by the round spectacles. He can see his eyes a little better and his face looks less round without them on.
“You look good with or without them,” Jeongguk concludes, reaching to run a thumb along Yoongi’s cheek, to which he leans into. “And yes, they do go with your outfit. Y’know, your
naked
one.” Yoongi smacks his arm and Jeongguk smiles wider.
“Take off your boxers, you tease,” Yoongi orders playfully, and Jeongguk shifts Yoongi up to slip them down and off, kicking them towards the edge of the bed.
“Hey, you, too,” he nods to Yoongi, still clad in his own tightly-clinging boxers, and Yoongi huffs as he slips them away. “I assume you’re topping?”
“Unless you want to, yes,” Yoongi nods. They’re skin to skin, completely, only halfway to full and that’s just okay. They sit there, almost just enjoying the moment, before Jeongguk wiggles his hips and makes Yoongi chuckle. “Alright, okay.”
Yoongi cups Jeongguk and Jeongguk closes his eyes slowly, reveling in the touch slightly. Yoongi strokes him bit by bit until he’s straining, and Yoongi reaches for the tube.
“You can go ahead and start with two if you want,” Jeongguk tells him, and Yoongi raises an eyebrow. “Hey, I have no shame.”
“I didn’t say you did,” Yoongi chuckles. “Tell me if it’s too much.” Jeongguk eyes the hands currently being slicked.
“Considering the size of your yaoi hands, I’d say two equals four.” Yoongi looks to be considering smacking Jeongguk with said fingers, but instead adjusts and moves down, spreading Jeongguk’s leg and prodding with one finger.
One slicks in before two, and Jeongguk keens, only chuckling once until Yoongi begins to scissor.
“What’s funny now?” Yoongi asks teasingly, and Jeongguk, in a lazy attempt, smacks the air in front of Yoongi’s face as he grins.
“You’re an idiot,” he manages through small breaths. “I think I’m ready, no need to-” Jeongguk jolts his back off the bed when Yoongi curls his fingers and laughs at the reaction. “D-Don’t play games, that’s not fair.”
“I’m not fair,” Yoongi concludes, taking his fingers back and moving up.
“That’s true,” Jeongguk nods, looking up at Yoongi, who wipes his hand on the sheets and searches around with his eyes. “What’re you looking for?”
“The-” Yoongi starts moving around before he pushes Jeongguk to his side and huffs. “You were lying on it.”
“I was keeping it warm,” Jeongguk smiles as Yoongi undoes the wrapping.
“Excuses, excuses,” Yoongi purses his lips, fumbling for the condom before he brandishes it like a prize and tosses the wrapper away.
“I’m good with those,” Jeongguk chuckles. Yoongi rolls his eyes as he rolls it onto himself and situates back into straddling Jeongguk. “Okay, go.”
“Ooh,
yes, your highness,”
Yoongi mocks with a grin before he lines up and pushes in. Jeongguk closes his eyes and leans his head back until Yoongi’s all the way in. “How’s that?”
“Be better if you moved,” Jeongguk teases and Yoongi laughs as he leans down and kisses Jeongguk, moving his hips back before snapping them forward.
They find a steady pace, one that lasts and Jeongguk likes that it lasts. They huff little breaths into each other’s mouths and rest with their lips just touching, not moving.
“J-Jeongguk,” Yoongi huffs out, breathing with his thrusts as he says against his mouth, “A-Are you close?”
“Mm-hm,” Jeongguk hums back. “Keep going, keep going.” Yoongi rocks himself, dropping his head and breathing instead onto Jeongguk’s neck as his thrusts get slightly more sloppy, staying at the steady pace. “Close.”
“Jeongguk...” Yoongi breathes heavier and Jeongguk lets his mouth hang open, feeling himself reach that high point until he comes with a choked out gasp towards the ceiling, Yoongi rocking him through it and whining into Jeongguk’s shoulder as he comes with him.
Yoongi keeps rocking until he can’t anymore and he pulls away, tossing the condom and breathing carefully.
“That was nice,” Jeongguk manages to say with a breathy chuckle, and Yoongi chuckles along with him.
“Then I guess you wouldn’t mind spending the night, right?” Yoongi says and Jeongguk laughs.
“After that,
yeah,
I think I’m spending the night.” He adjusts his head to face between them and strains to say, “I need to clean this off, though.”
“Hold on, I’ll go get a cloth,” Yoongi breathes, sitting up and taking a deep breath before standing and walking away, Jeongguk laughing when he hears something crash for the second time that night.
“You suck at finding things,” Jeongguk tells him as Yoongi leans to wipe off his stomach before wiping his own.
“You
suck,”
Yoongi retorts, putting the towel on the floor and tugging Jeongguk up towards the head of the bed, to which Jeongguk whines at the effort. “Relax.” Yoongi shifts to pull the covers over them and lay himself on Jeongguk. “‘oodnight.” Jeongguk laughs and takes a last look at the ceiling before he turns and buries his head in Yoongi’s hair with a laugh.
“Night.”
