Work Text
"Hey, hyung?" Yoongi looks up a little to face the man he's leaning up against. He's just getting comfortable during one of the rare days that they're both off work, but he simply can't ignore the nagging feeling at the back of his mind.Seokjin hums in return, turning his head a little to hear what the younger has to say."It's been pretty quiet lately. You think the kids are up to something?""I sure hope not," Seokjin adjusts his position on the couch. "I mean... nobody has called us crying yet. And everyone's on break. They probably just want to do their own thing. We'll see them soon so just enjoy the quiet."
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
Jung Hoseok stalks across the hallway, phone in hand, and bangs on the door of the only other penthouse in his apartment building. He hears shuffling and a muted crash and then some more shuffling before the door finally opens."Thank God you're here, Hoseok," Namjoon says as he wipes sweat off his brow."Thank you, God," Hoseok sighs. "What happened this time, Joon?""Well, I woke up from a nap and called Rapmon over. And normally, he would've jumped straight on the bed but it was too quiet so I got up to look for him and he's gone. He's gone, Hobi! Gone!"Hoseok looks at his friend's distraught face before taking a deep breath. He wonders for the nth time why he ever agreed to this living arrangement. But then again, he was the one who suggested they stay in the same complex so he should just suck it up."Did you go out anytime at all today? Did you leave the door open? Did you even check your balcony, Namjoon-ah?"Namjoon sits on a bar stool as he answers his friend's questions. He finally finished that song he's been working on last night so he managed to stay home all day today. Oh, but Jungkook and Taehyung came over to hang out for a bit. They left sometime after he fell asleep, though. And no, he actually forgot to check the balcony. He called Hobi as soon as he realized that Rapmon wasn't in the living room.Hoseok walks over to the balcony just as Namjoon finishes his anecdote (if you can call it that) to check if the dog got stuck outside."Rapmon isn't here," Hoseok announces. And as if on cue, Namjoon whines like the overgrown child that he is and throws himself across the counter top. "What do I do now, Hobi?"The slightly older one gives his tall friend a sharp look before pulling out his phone."Let me call the kids. Maybe they know where he is.""I didn't take a day off for this," Hoseok mutters to himself as he observes his friend and waits for his dongsaeng to pick up the phone.
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
"Jimin-ah," drawls Jungkook."What? And just because you just came out of the military, you brat, it doesn't mean that you can stop calling me hyung," Jimin retorts.Jungkook rolls his eyes at the shorter man as he shoves another butterscotch in his mouth. His hyung had a playful frown on his face but he's obviously waiting for what Jungkook had to say."Tae has been awfully quiet. Is he at home?""I don't know, Kook," Jimin replies with a deadpan expression. "Do I look like a babysitter to you?""Hey, I just wanted to know if you saw him leave the apartment anytime today. I've been meaning to play that new game with him and he said we would today.""Why don't you just check his room? For all we know, maybe he could still be sleeping. We did get back late from Joonie-hyung's place last night."
