Running a flower shop wasn’t as easy as it looked, and you learned that the hard way. You exhaled heavily as you set down the big box of fertilizer by the rest of the plant care materials in the back of the shop. Wiping the sweat that had formed at your brow from carrying the heavy load, you walked back to your usual position behind the counter and resumed playing on your phone until customers drifted in.‘Man, it’s a really slow day today,’ You thought to yourself as you saw on your phone that it was just about 12:00 pm. You had opened shop at 8am as you usually did, but normally by now you had at least two or three customers come in before 12.“Gives me more time to relax, I suppose,” You mumbled to yourself as you opened Snapchat to send something, anything, to your friends to get their attention. Before you could though, the front door chimed, signaling that customers had walked in.“Come on Yoongi, you know I hardly ever ask you for favors,” A man with red hair whined to his blonde-haired friend.Said blonde rolled his eyes, “I just don’t get why I have to help pick out flowers for your boyfriend, Hobi.”The pair continued bickering as you observed them from your counter. Both men were pretty handsome despite just wearing jeans and hoodies, but they gave off their own distinct vibes. The red-haired man seemed like a bundle of sunshine, even from where you sat; it was a quality that you felt probably attracted many people to him. On the other hand, the blonde man (Yoongi you think you heard his name was) gave off a cool yet almost mysterious vibe. He had a hard look about his face that made him look serious, albeit insanely attractive. You shook your head to snap yourself out of your thoughts as you headed over to the two men, “Hello, is there anything that I can help you with?” You asked in your customer service voice. The red-haired man (Hobi, was it?) smiled back a little shyly, “Oh, no thanks, we’re just looking.”Yoongi scoffed and said, “Why are you denying help, Hoseok? The whole reason you drug me here was to help, so I’m sure an extra hand wouldn’t hurt,” He turned to you with a piercing gaze, “Could you help us find flowers for his boyfriend?”You blinked a few times, a little startled at his intense gaze before you replied, “Sure thing! Did you have anything particular in mind or…?”Hoseok grinned brightly before answering, “I wanted to get him a bouquet since it’s our one-year anniversary,” His face fell a little as he furrowed his brows, “But as for what kind I’m not really sure…”You nodded sympathetically, “Well, congratulations on one year! I’m guessing you don’t want to go the traditional bouquet of roses route?” The look on Hoseok’s face showed he hadn’t even thought that far yet, and you struggled to hold back your laughter.“If you go with a bunch of sappy roses I just might throw up,” Yoongi said with an expressionless face, leaving you wondering whether he was playing around or if he was dead serious.‘He seems a little lacking in the social skills department…’ You thought to yourself before turning back to Hoseok, “Alright, well I’ll show you what we have in the store right now and you can choose from those, okay?”Hoseok nodded excitedly as you took him and Yoongi to the side of your shop where you had the bouquets stored in refrigerators. You should have known by the way Hoseok seemed lost about the idea of just a simple bouquet of roses that he would be a very indecisive customer. It had to have been at least thirty minutes since you first offered your help, and you were feeling a little drained with the back and forth decisions Hoseok was making. If you felt drained though, Yoongi looked like he was absolutely exhausted. It was after the hundredth time of Hoseok putting back a bouquet of carnations in favor of sunflowers that Yoongi finally snapped, “For the love of god, can you please hurry and decide Hoseok? I’m sure Jin is going to love whatever the hell you get him.”He looked a little hurt by his outburst, “Look, I just want it to be perfect, okay?” Hoseok paused for a moment before smirking, “Don’t get upset with me just because you’re too socially inept to get a girlfriend.” The way Yoongi’s face flushed with embarrassment nearly made you double over with laughter, but you somehow managed to restrain yourself. You cleared your throat to choke back your laughter before you said, “I don’t really know you, sir, but that bouquet of sunflowers seems to suit your personality pretty well. I think that bouquet would be a really good choice to give to your boyfriend.”Hoseok seemed more confident in his choice after listening to your words and nodded in agreement. You couldn’t help but notice Yoongi out of the corner of your eye. He looked very relieved to have the whole ordeal over with, which made you wonder why Hoseok had chosen him to come along for what seemed to be an important emotional deal. You hadn’t known the man for that long, but Yoongi didn’t seem like the type to be very emotional about anything.‘Whatever, it’s none of my business,’ You thought as you happily led the pair to the counter to ring up their purchase. From there it was easy sailing; Hoseok paid for the bouquet, thanked you for your help, and left with his friend. With a contented sigh, you sat back down behind the counter and resumed to messing with your phone, waiting for more customers to roll in. You mildly thought about the two boys from time to time as you helped customers throughout the day, hoping that Hoseok’s anniversary went well for him. By the time you closed shop, you had all but forgotten the pair and their antics. As you began to walk to your car, you heard your phone ringing. ‘If it’s another salesman I’m going to scream,’ You thought as you pulled your phone out of your pocket. To your delight, it wasn’t a salesman. The name “Bunny Boi” lit up your phone screen, making you instinctively grin. ‘If Jungkook is calling me instead of snapchatting, he’s definitely up to something,’ You thought humorously to yourself as you picked up the call after the second ring.“You left me high and dry today, Jungkook,” You began to tease, “I sent you annoying selfies all day and you didn’t respond to a single one.”Jungkook laughed cutely before he replied, “Sorry, I had a lot going on during the day today. Choosing a new career path isn’t easy work.”Your eyebrow quirked at that last sentence, “Career path? I didn’t even know you were thinking about those kinds of things. What is it that you’re taking up?”“I’ll tell you if you agree to come clubbing with me tonight,” Jungkook hummed, “It’s been a while since we’ve partied together, and I’ve been dying to do so again.”You sighed a little as you fiddled with your keys and unlocked your car, “I don’t know, Jungkook, clubs are usually a hit or miss…” In truth you didn’t really mind clubs, it was just that Jungkook often had a bad habit of slipping off for a number of hours or getting absolutely shitfaced, leaving you to deal with the aftermath.“Come on, it’ll be fun,” Jungkook whined, “Plus, who else would take care of me when I get into trouble?”“And the truth comes out,” You say dramatically as you crank up your car, “You only use me and our five years of friendship as your impulse control. I’m not surprised, but I’m disappointed.”Jungkook laughed, “Oh come on, that’s not the only reason I keep you around! I pretend you’re my girlfriend sometimes to keep annoying people in the club away from me.”It was your turn to burst into laughter, “How come this is the first time I’m hearing of this? You’re such a little weasel, I swear,” You exhaled before continuing, “Alright, I’ll come with you tonight if you pick me up. I suppose I could blow off a little steam.”You could practically hear Jungkook’s grin through the phone, “Okay, I’ll pick you up around 11:30. Be sure to dress to impress, I can’t pretend I have an ugly girlfriend…”“I’m so going to kill you when you get to my house,” You joked before saying, “Alright, I’ll be sure to be ready by then.” Not waiting for Jungkook to make more jokes, you hung up and drove to your apartment. For a good three hours after you spoke with Jungkook, you just sat around on your bed and binged a few Netflix shows. It wasn’t until you were a good six episodes into a show that you remembered that you had to get ready to go to the club. Groaning as you rolled off your bed, you trudged over to your closet to try to figure out what you were going to wear. You didn’t have too many club outfits, but luckily enough for you your favorite one wasn’t dirty. You pulled the white halter dress off the hanger and slipped it on. Stepping over to your full-length mirror, you admired how the tight dress appealed to your body. The open back also did wonders, giving you a bit of a flirtatious appearance while still being relatively comfortable (as comfortable as club outfits go, at any rate). You debated whether it was worth putting makeup on before sighing a little and beginning the process of doing a smoky eye look with a nice red toned lipstick. ‘I’d rather go without the makeup, but then I’d probably look like a high schooler who was allowed out past curfew for the first time,’ You thought to yourself as you fussed with the wings of your eyeliner. Then you messed with your hair for about thirty minutes before you finally approved of your appearance in the reflection. The entire process of getting ready took way longer than you would have liked, but all in all you had no complaints about how everything turned out.You heard a ding from your phone, which you reached for eagerly to read the message.

Bunny Boi: ‘Hey (Y/n) I’m outside. Let me innnnn’

You rolled your eyes and went to the front door and opened it, revealing your dashing bunny friend. Jungkook’s hair was pushed back nicely, giving him an older appearance, and his black jeans and black button up shirt clung to him in ways that should have been sinful.Jungkook noticed your gaze and gave you a crooked grin, “Don’t you know it’s impolite to stare, (Y/n)?”Slapping his arm playfully, you stepped aside to let him in, “Please, get over yourself. I’m just surprised that you clean up nicely when you want to. Are you trying to pick up a girl tonight?”He smiled shyly, “I mean, isn’t everybody trying to pick up someone at the club? That’s kind of what it’s for.”“Not really, some people go there just to have a good time,” You said as you walked back into your room to grab a small bag for your wallet and phone, “Cause I know I’m certainly not looking to pick anyone up.”“Just how long do you plan to stay single?” Jungkook asked as he held open your front door as you two walked out together, “Like there’s nothing wrong with being comfortable with being single, but I feel like having someone could do you some good.”You shrugged, “I don’t know, Jungkook. I suppose the right guy will come at the right time.” In truth, you were just a little too shy to put yourself out there, hence why you had remained single for so long. Being single for such a long time didn’t bother you most of the time, but sometimes you did yearn for a relationship.Jungkook just hummed in response as both of you got into his car. He was likely thinking the exact same thing you were, but he remained quiet as he started up his car and began to drive to the club. The ride to the club was filled with laughter, whether it was Jungkook telling you to look up the latest meme or you recalling every single embarrassing moment of Jungkook’s that you had witnessed firsthand. Both of you tumbled out of the car giggling like fools as you both walked up to the entrance of the club, flashing your ID’s and paying the entrance fee before walking inside. There wasn’t anything particularly spectacular about the interior of the club; it had flashing lights, pounding music, sweaty young adults, and a bar area just like any other club. ‘This one does seem to be cleaner than the last few that Jungkook has drug me to…’ You thought to yourself as you scanned the club.Jungkook flashed you a grin as he gently tugged you to the dance floor, “Let’s dance, (Y/n)! Its been way too long and I’m itching to get back on the dance floor.”You just smiled and let Jungkook lead you onto the crowded dance floor. It wasn’t long before you lost yourself into the music, swaying your body to the beat and occasionally bumping Jungkook teasingly. You could tell Jungkook was having a great time. Since his face just oozed confidence as he danced along side you. Song after song passed and you and Jungkook danced your hearts out, but you could only last so long smooshed in a thick crowd before you started to get a little too hot.“Hey, Jungkook,” You half yelled over the steady loud drumming of the music as you gestured over to the edge of the dance floor, “Could you go get me a drink? I’ll wait over there while you get it.”He jokingly rolled his eyes, “I suppose I could, since you’re my dearest friend,” He blocked your teasing hits as you both walked to the edge of the dancefloor, “Alright, alright, I’m going to get you that drink. Don’t run off on me while I’m gone.” Jungkook slid through a few more people until he disappeared from your site, leaving you standing at the edge of the dance floor alone. You were standing there comfortably, expecting Jungkook to be back at any second, but the longer it took the more awkward you grew. ‘No way does it take this long to get a drink,’ You thought to yourself as you shuffled your feet, ‘I bet he got caught up with some thirsty girl…’You were about to go hunt down Jungkook when you felt a hand snake around your waist, “Hey baby, let’s party a little…” a voice slurred from behind. You wrenched your way out of his grasp faster than you thought possible, turning to face him with an irritated look on your face. He was an average man, but you could tell he was totally shitfaced.“Look dude, I don’t know you, so please don’t bother me,” You said curtly before turning away again, but the man grabbed your wrist and yanked you back.“Come onnnn, pretty thing, a lil dance won’t hurt,” The man cooed as he tried to pull your struggling body closer, “You’re lookin great in that white dress, pretty thing.”“Hands off, she’s not interested,” Another voice sounded from behind you. You sighed with relief and turned around, expecting Jungkook, but your eyes met a pair of cool, familiar ones instead. It was the man who came into your flower shop today with his friend. The drunk man’s grip on your wrist slackened, and you took that opportunity you free yourself from his grasp and stood next to Yoongi. You secretly side eyed the dark-haired man to see what he would do next.“What’s yer problem, huh? We were just having a little bit of fun, weren’t we, pretty thing?” The man said, sending a rather gross wink in your direction.Yoongi suddenly stepped forward towards the man, nearly getting in his face as he growled, “If you don’t get out of here I will beat the shit out of you, do you understand?”The drunk guy didn’t put up any arguments after Yoongi’s threat and left promptly, and you didn’t blame him. The aura that was coming from Yoongi was absolutely menacing, and something about his stance and the way his body seemed to tense told you that he would have immediately backed up his threat without question.“You alright?” Yoongi asked quietly, snapping you out of your thoughts. His face seemed rather expressionless, but the slight tone in his voice told you that he was actually genuinely concerned for your wellbeing, at least a little bit.“U-Uh, yeah I’m okay…” You stuttered, your face flushing at the intense gaze of the attractive man before you, “Um, thank you for helping me with…that guy.”Yoongi continued to stare you down as though he were trying to read through you like a book, “Are you here by yourself?”You shook your head, “No, I’m here with a friend. He went to go get drinks, but…”He was silent for a few seconds before he said, “Okay, I’ll stay with you until he gets back.”“N-No, that’s okay! You don’t have to bother yourself with that, I’m okay now,” You protested. It was already a little embarrassing that the man whose friend you had helped this morning had to come to your defense in a club, and you’d only be more embarrassed with him standing guard over you.Yoongi blinked for a second before replying, “There’s more than just one drunk creep in this place. I’ll stay with you until your friend gets back.” He crossed his arms across his chest and stared blankly into the crowd, signaling to you that arguing with him was not an option. You sighed to yourself as you stood there awkwardly, trying to look at anything else other than the man next to you, but failing miserably. Yoongi looked…well, he looked sexy as hell, to put it simply. He was just wearing a simple white button up shirt with a pair of dark jeans, but damn if the clothes didn’t fit his figure nicely. You began to stare at his face a little and noticed that he had some bruising around his left eye, just peeking out from underneath his dark hair. His eyes suddenly shifted over to yours, and you tried to look away quickly without seeming obvious. Whether he noticed you staring at him or not, Yoongi didn’t say anything and continued to stand next to you like a statue. You sighed a little to yourself and looked in the direction of the bar, silently willing Jungkook to return. You didn’t know how much longer you could take standing awkwardly next to such a handsome man.
