Taehyung ran. The wind whistled past his ears, squirrels scurried out of the way, birds took to the air with the flutter of their wings making his ears perk in their direction, the tips cold despite being covered in fur.
It was dark, but he could still see the forest glowing green in his vision.
He runs. He doesn’t know where to, but he runs. All he knows that he’s going in the opposite direction of his camp, so he runs.
But soon, the ache in his paws and knees was too much for him to bear.
By the time he finally stopped, three moon’s had risen in the sky.
He sat and looked at them, staying in his animal form so his fur would protect him from the cold.
Why did I have to be the eldest?
He silently asked the biggest moon with a small growl.
He’d left his clan, his mother crying into her hands, his father in his giant fox form, unable to turn human, lying on his side and barely breathing.
“Please
Taehyung!” His sisters had whined, “It’s his final wish!”
Final wish my ass.
He thought on the forest floor.
He just wants to make sure I don’t run away or something.
He was born to please. Taehyung was born as the first child of the chief, the heir, the fox that wasn’t allowed to play with the other foxes as much since he had to follow his father around on absolutely every task. If his dad had to take a piss, Taehyung somehow needed to be part of it.
His father had originally wanted him to mate with the strongest and most intelligent female Mage Fox he could find. Now on his deathbed, he told him to marry any male or female he could find almost desirable, even if they could barely think a twig into existence, as long as it was a Mage Fox. Anything to make sure Taehyung wouldn’t run away. Taehyung had turned into a fox, a little over half the size of his father, snarled that he wasn’t prepared to throw his life away for the sake of the clan, and ran away on all fours.
When the misery cleared slightly from his eyes, Taehyung realized that the Chief could die while he was away. He stood back up and turned to walk back.
Then his ears perked up at the slow breath he hears in the shrubs behind him. He spun around and saw another animal emerging from between the branches and leaves. Its broad shoulders and sleek figure slithered stealthily in the night and its bright eyes trained on him.
Taehyung lowered his head and bore his teeth, sensing the malicious intent in the other beast.
Suddenly, it raised its head and shook into the appearance of a naked boy, several inches smaller and less broad than Taehyung’s human form.
“You shouldn’t be here.” He says, “Now I’ll have to kill you.”
The other boy shudders back into his furs and prods up to Taehyung, his pointed shoulders rising and falling with every step. Taehyung lowers his head even further and snarls, ready to attack with both physical and magical force if he needs to.
“Jimin,” A voice says from behind the other animal, “it’s him.”
There’s a sharp sound from the bushes, and Taehyung is suddenly human again and on all fours.
“What..” before he could continue, something hit him on the neck, right above the gap between his shoulder blades and he fell facedown on the dirt. A darkness even his eyes couldn’t see crept at the corners of his vision until it consumed it all.
The pain of the metal cuffs digging into his wrists and ankles woke Taehyung up slowly. He groaned and blinked in the sunlight piercing his eyes, and tried move. He only rocked uselessly, as his hands and legs were chained, the length of metal between them too short for him to do much. He looked up from where he lay on the floor. Around him stood three guards, all in their animal forms. Giant wildcats.
One of them growled, and nudged Taehyung’s head, lifting it with his wet nose pressed against his back to help him sit up. Once he was standing straight, the cat clamped it’s jaw down on a chain extending from the cuffs around his arms, and Taehyung is dragged along.
Unable to change into his animal form or use his magic with the runes on the cuffs, he powerlessly followed. He struggled to walk with the chains between his legs and the pace of his captors increasing with every step. He looked up at the sky peeking in between the trees intertwined arms and cursed at it, wishing he’d turned to go back home just a bit sooner, or that he’d run away instead of trying to fight the other animal. At least they had the decency to clothe him in his sleep with a leather garment tied over his shoulder, and at least it was impossible for him to get married now. Well, unless his father wanted to hold the wedding in whatever torture camp they were taking him.
He was pushed in between two shrubs, and was pulled through a clearing, almost groaning from how tight the cuffs were.
At the center of the clearing there was a large, brown boulder, and on it lay a wildcat significantly larger than the rest. His eyes were buried in the folds of his fur making the yellow of their pupils seem older, sharper, and wiser. His coat was a dark brown with a few flecks of gold on his stomach that rose and fell as he breathed. They stopped abruptly once they were only two feet away from the rock, not a sound to be heard.
There was the sound of the rustling of leaves, and someone was pulled into the clearing by two men, obviously trying to fight. Eventually, they came close enough to shove the struggling man in front of Taehyung. His head of ruffled hair bounced as he fell foward, the blonde locks bright in the sun. It was the boy he’d had the misfortune to meet in the middle of the night.
“This is ridiculous.” He snapped.
The wildcat raised its body to sit on its behind and shook his frame. Suddenly there sat an old man, a leather cloth hastily thrown on his body. His wrinkled skin was a dark shade of copper, his head bald except for a half circle of golden hair. His eyes remained the same, golden and fierce.
“Taehyung,” the elderly man began, “this is Jimin. Jimin this is Taehyung. You two are meant to mate.” He said flatly.
Jimin groaned audibly, and Taehyung scoffed, “Yeah, right.” He eyed the man, “I didn’t go on this little moonlight stroll to go husband hunting, far from it actually. So yeah, no, I think I’d like to go home now.”
The man wrinkled his eyebrows and scowled, sitting up straighter,“You both
will
mate, by the laws of our people.”
The boys looked at each other, dumbfounded. Taehyung looked into the other boy’s wide, brown eyes and sensed something close to fear.
But then, he felt it.
When he saw the curves of his jaw, the plumpness of his pink lips, the sharpness of his eyes, he felt the tug in his lower abdomen that only seemed to increase when he saw Jimin’s eyes scanning his body.
The elderly man picked up his staff and struck the ground with one of its ends. The earth bellowed a deep and hollow sound, too loud to be natural. The other giant cats emerged from the bushes and sat in a circle around them.
“And you will consummate it. And you will do it
now
.”
Taehyung smirked at the man, “You know what, I’d love to.” He said, and turned to see Jimin’s panicked expression, his lips forming a small ‘O’ and his eyebrows leaning down, like a puppy’s.
“Just take off my chains and I’ll do it.”
The man chuckled, “Ah, that’s the natural libido kicking in.” He pointed to Taehyung with his chin, “release him. But keep the spell going so he cant use his magic to escape.” He said.
With a touch from one of the cats’s nose, the cuffs were clattering to the floor. Another wildcat growled as he shut his eyes and muttered, furry face crumpled in concentration.
Taehyung’s smirk grew wider as he walked towards Jimin. The other boy took a few steps backwards, tripped and fell on his behind, and backpedaled away. Taehyung extended an arm out to Jimin and crouched down, inching his cupped hand closer and closer to Jimin’s face. Jimin took in a sharp breath and squeezed his eyes tight, and froze.
Taehyung caressed the other boy’s cheek. It was soft and smooth, like the petals of a lily. He used his free hand to push Jimin down on his back slowly and loomed over him, the other boy’s hips between his knees, his head between his palm facedown on the dirt. He brought his forehead to the other’s, feeling his hitched breath on his chin. He put his hand back on Jimin’s face, a wetness seeping into the creases of his hands. Taehyung opened his eyes and saw the tears, and that’s when he did it.
He rolled over to his side, pulling Jimin with him. The guard with his eyes shut in concentration on the spell growled.
“What?” Taehyung said, “I’m a bottom, and I have a feeling Jimin’s a top. Right?”
Jimin opened his eyes and rolled his head to the side to look at Taehyung laying beside him, his expression one of deep confusion.
“Um…” he began.
“Come on then!” Taehyung said, “Up you go.”
He sat up and helped Jimin to sit in front of him. As he began to recline back, Jimin resting his weight on Taehyung, he threw Jimin back, who landed on his back.
“Oof!”
And in that split second when the spellcaster got distracted by the heir’s cry of pain, Taehyung snapped his fingers and a dark blue oval, almost black, just about his size appeared in thin air.
“Wedding’s cancelled!” He shouted as he dipped a foot into the hole in space, and leapt in.
His foot hit the ground and he snapped his fingers again, making the oval disappear. He stood in the forest again, feeling rather proud of his escape, and rolled his shoulders.
“Where are we?” A voice said.
“Uh, honestly, no clue.” Taehyung responded, “I’ve never opened a portal that fast so I didnt really have control over where we’d land and I haven’t the faintest idea which part of the forest we’re in. But hey! At least we didn’t end up in a lake of piranhas! Trust me, you don’t want that. I’m talking from experience.”
Then it hit him.
“What?” He said, spinning around.
Behind him stood a boy with blonde hair and the softest looking lips Taehyung had ever seen, and eyes carrying anger so hot that could burn the entire enchanted forest.
“Jimin!?”
