IN THE MODERN WORLD…ON A LONE BOAT…SOMEWHERE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE OCEAN…
‘Sometimes, I wonder if I’m really doing the right thing or not…’
That’s what one lone girl is thinking in her mind with those thoughts, and she appeared to be fair and pretty in her young age of eighteen, seemingly look like she just graduated from college and seem to be trying to enjoy some sort of pleasure cruise or was traveling to find some kind of purpose in her life.It turned out to be true for this girl--who is named and called Sigrid Henderson. As this fair scarlet-red brunette-brownish haired and pretty sky-blue eyed pale pink-skinned girl, with Scottish-European features, was standing in the front of the cruising ship, looking over the horizon like she’s trying to see more beyond it…it seems that Sigrid was trying to find someplace that’s out there in the world somewhere, where she can find the said purpose in her life--or maybe something else, that would change it for the better and give her reason and meaning, as well as belonging.Granted there were lots of good opportunities and chances for her already since she graduated from education and was ready to go to the next step of adulthood, is by finding a job or career to give her more meaning or responsibility in her life. But then…Sigrid felt it deep in her heart--or was it the calling of the spirit? --that there’s something more that she should find and she must go on some sort of carefree enjoyable vacation to see and discover it…if there were really were such a thing out there.Sigrid sighed in a forlorn lost way like she doesn’t truly know what she’s doing. That was when her deep thoughts were snapped suddenly into focus in reality when the main captain and sole driver of the boat shouted out in alarm at Sigrid to get back down in the cabin below right now.Sigrid turned to see what caused the boat driver to yell in panic like that. And then her eyes caught sight of an incoming thundering lightning-flashing storm cloud--heading straight into their direction.Sigrid blinked in confusion and was wondering how she did not notice that but then she snapped out of her staring daze when the boat’s captain shouted at her again and she quickly ran to the cabin’s deck below for safety. It didn’t take long for the boat she’s traveling in--to rock violently as the storm clouds are now hovering over them and the ocean waves have turned from the floating calm into the harsh stormy rocking as the ship almost tipped over or violently moves from side to side.Sigrid tried to grab hold of something so that she won’t be nauseated of seasickness from this sudden unexpected hurricane blowing through them or get herself hurt upon being tumbled or jostled around inside the rocking boat.It was when her tight grip and hold against a boat bar or something had changed instantly in a blink when water suddenly burst into the boat from a leak or the boat got hit somewhere, and the waves crashing in below, made Sigrid quickly react into getting back up, managing to grab one lone big backpack, which has all her stuff and personal belongings in it, and that the light luggage is the only thing she brought for this boating trip. When she got up back into the surface of the boat, she nearly stumbled to the side and almost fell overboard by another crashing wave that hit the boat to swerve violently but she managed to hold on and grab onto something solid and sturdy before she struggles to climb up into the cabin where the boat driver is.However, when she got to the top, all Sigrid saw was broken windows and the steering wheel turning from left to right with no driver on sight at all.Sigrid gasped and thought the worst when she saw a few stains of blood from the jagged glass edges of the broken windows and she ran back out, trying to find or spot a life-boat or raft, instantly panicking in her mind in wanting to get out of there fast before the boat sinks or tips completely over to its side by another vast crashing wave. She found one--much to her relief. And she managed to get on it and dislodge the air-floating boat raft away from the ship. Before it was hit by another wave, and Sigrid saw that it finally tipped over and sank into the bottom of the sea.She didn’t linger long to hesitate upon seeing the sunken ship as she focused on rowing all with her might to try to get out of the storm, ignoring the heavy rain pouring down onto her and the raft, the flashing lightning which struck almost too close at her.It was then something unexpected happened.Whether it was by the punishing hand of the thunder gods themselves--or simply a cruel twist of fate that crossed right at her. When a large wave came crashing down onto her blindside and engulfed her completely, submerging her down deep into the ocean like some invisible hand pushing or pulling her down to swiftly drown her into her watery grave. Before Sigrid surrendered into darkness, letting death quickly take her life.…she could have sworn she saw another flash of lightning striking to where she’s sinking slowly into the deep dark depths of the ocean waters…then saw some kind of strange figure diving down towards her…And then it grabbed her and lifted her back up to the surface, almost like it’s that same sort of invisible hand-like carry again but it’s different than before…And also, the storming raging waters had suddenly turned into a peaceful calm unexpectedly…00000
SOMEWHERE UNKNOWN…WITH THE RISING LIGHT OF THE SUN LIKE A SIGN THAT SIGNIFIES NEW LIFE OR SOMETHING…
Sigrid was laying on something dry and sandy underneath her twitching light grasping hands and the right side of her face. Then it didn’t take long for a wave to crash splashing onto the lower half of her body and bits of water wetting her face, to instantly jolt up on her hands and knees with a big gasp, sounding like she just surfaced for air from almost being drowned, except it didn’t take long for Sigrid to realize that she’s no longer floating or drowning in the ocean waters at all, and was now somehow washed up in a beach somewhere.Sigrid nearly falls face down into the sand again but managed to stop upon keeping her hold up with her hands to make her body steady prone upwards as she gasped, coughed, and hacked water out of her lungs until she’s well and fine to breathe clearly. She slowly moved her head to look around and make sense of her surroundings, trying to find out where she is but she doesn’t see any familiar landmark that she could find or spot around her, and then her eyes caught sight of something--which is a relief for her.Somehow, throughout all that happened to her…Sigrid’s backpack is lying next to her, soaking wet.And when she grabbed for it and opened it up, surprisingly all her things and personal stuff inside is completely bone dry and untouched by any spot of wetness, which Sigrid is truly relieved but will be wondering about this strange phenomenon later. There was a breeze blowing right at her, making her shiver upon the reminder that her entire being and clothing is soaking wet from the unexpected rainstorm and ocean swim she got caught on and surprisingly survived alive through it.Sigrid shakily stands up and looks around more to find a drier place to warm up and take shelter on before she makes plans to call for help or something. That was when she heard strange sounds.Strange unexpected sounds so loud--that it made Sigrid turn her head upwards to see what caused them and find out its source. It wasn’t long until Sigrid is staring in stunned shock again, just like how she reacted and expressed upon the sudden storm from before--that the sight before her very eyes got her completely staring dumbstruck with disbelief and shock upon registering the scene she’s staring at.Dragons.Sigrid Henderson is somewhere at some unknown location. With lots and lots of DRAGONS on it.Sigrid can’t help but just stare in wide-eyed shock at the sight of the Dragons flying all around and about on the island that she’s on.Dragons in various shapes and sizes. Different looks, appearances, kinds, and everything. It was quite shocking yet amazingly momentous for the girl as she stood there in silence for a moment and then…“Ohh boy…Toto, I think I’m definitely not in Kansas anymore!” she just said out loud to herself.000000000000000 00000AUTHOR’S NOTES:Another new story that came to mind and inspired me instantly to write this.I hope you like it!I will be posting the next chapters very soon, I promise!Enjoy Readers!PLEASE REVIEW OR COMMENT!00000 00000

…LAST TIME…
“Ohh boy…Toto, I think I’m definitely not in Kansas anymore!” she just said out loud to herself. 00000
AT THE UNKNOWN PLACE…WHERE THERE ARE DRAGONS…
‘Yep…I’m definitely NOT in Kansas--or anywhere familiar of my former homeland or country anymore!’ It didn’t take long for the young woman, Sigrid Henderson to snap out from her thoughts and her shocked yet amazed daze-trance upon staring at the sight right before her very eyes above the skies, at the various random Dragons flying around and about. She couldn’t believe that she’s somehow drifted into another world that has mythical yet positively real Dragons in it--that she had to pinch herself in the bare arm hard enough to know whether this is a dream, a vision of Heaven or not.“OW! Okay--this is definitely not a dream, nor is this a vision that shows that I’ve died and gone to some fantasy kind of Heaven--or something!” Sigrid muttered to herself, rubbing her arm carefully gentle after she hurt herself just like that. Then she shivered upon feeling a sudden cold draft and remembered her state of condition again.“Right…first things first--find and set up a good temporary shelter for the time being and light up a fire quickly before I catch a cold--or else something worse happens!” Sigrid murmured, feeling like she needs to talk out loud to herself so that she won’t turn crazy once she registered the fact that she’s all alone in some deserted unknown place, that has dangerous flying Dragons in the mix.Fortunately, none of the Dragons were interested in the human newcomer that washed up on the shore of wherever this unknown place is. But Sigrid is not letting her guard down anytime soon, in case one of them might change their minds and come swooping down and snatch her up with those wicked talons or claws. She put on the slightly heavy backpack and didn’t mind the outside wetness since the contents inside are still dry and safe, which Sigrid is still very relieved about it or for some other reason. The girl Sigrid briskly sprinted in a slightly fast pace to get out of the beach and to find shelter which is suitable for her to be kept safe and secure from the flying creatures above and other local wild dangers and threats that might be out there. It wasn’t long until Sigrid reached deep into the forests and found a mountainside cave on the ground below, that could serve suitably as her temporary shelter. But she double-checked to make sure that there are no occupants inside the cave, so she took out a flashlight from her backpack, set it to its highest light, and shined it inside the dark cave. When nothing came scurrying, slithering, or marching out with a small hiss or big roar, Sigrid sighed with relief upon finding it vacant and unoccupied and went inside without hesitation when she heard roaring coming from the skies and thought that the Dragons are now flying about on a hunt.It didn’t take long for Sigrid to be quick on making her shelter as she put all her things out from her backpack, that’s only wet from the outside, took off her wet clothes, hanging them to dry with the bag, and then quickly gathered the scattered wood and bits to make a fire inside the cave which she already hung a makeshift cover at the opening to prevent any curious or predatory intruders from looking into the newly-occupied cave.As the fire lights up hot enough to warm up her hanging wet clothes, bag, and her entire cold-shivering being, Sigrid relaxed while doing a short task in sorting out her stuff, supplies, and taking inventory of them. She rubs her hands against her arms a little hard enough to shake off the chills and let in the warmth emanating from the fire she lit inside the cave while she’s busy with her small task and work on it quickly so that she can rest from her tiring ordeal later. It didn’t take long for her to finish that task and then move to eat one dry biscuit and drink half a bottle of water to replenish her energy. It looks like Sigrid will have to quickly make plans on how to grow her food and water supply for herself as well as build primitive weapons to hunt the local wildlife out there as added supplies for food.Right now, she’ll have to make do with the limited rations of food and water she has with her and then will worry about it the next day.Sigrid shakes off a dry blanket and wraps it around herself, sits next almost near to the fire, and lies down to rest for the next day to come and her mind would be clear on thinking of ideas and plans on what to do next and how she would need to survive in the unknown place she’s now stranded into.00000
THE NEXT DAY LATER…IN THE UNKNOWN PLACE STILL…ON THE DARK YET COVERED FIRE-LIT CAVE SHELTER…
There were faint dragon roars or animal sounds that woke Sigrid up from her restful sleep. She slowly sits up with a slightly messy bed hair and stretched her arms up with a soundless yawn and then shakes her head and rubs her eyes blearily to become fully awake and greet the new day before her.Sigrid looked upon herself like she’s double-checking the health and welfare of her body and was glad to feel that she didn’t catch a cold during the entirety of last night before and was very relieved to have survived and lasted through it alive. But then…there are strange markings that are now forming around her right shoulder and halfway through her right arm up to the elbow slightly, that almost looks like long claw marks yet they appeared almost like magical tattoos that just appeared into a part of her body.Sigrid fingered them gently with light touches of her left fingers as she wonders how they got there, which she tried to remember how she had gotten these unexpected weird tattoo-like markings on her.But then she shook those thoughts for later thinking and focused on the important matter at hand. And that is making weapons so that she’ll add up into her supply stock of getting more food and water.Though it looks like that the dragons flying outside and high above the skies have not noticed the human girl yet--Sigrid rather not take any chances than going out into this strange unknown place she’s stuck on and be defenseless and vulnerable without a weapon on her, while on a hunt for necessary supplies or exploring to find out where she is exactly. It was a good thing that she had a slightly long strong dagger from her bag when she listed the stock of supplies she has with her and that it could serve for another use as an ax. And there are sturdy trees near the cave outside to quickly cut down and bring them back to the shelter there. It took about an hour or two for Sigrid to grab all the wood she needs to make her weapons and get more firewood as well before she ran back into the cave.It wasn’t a little easy since she had to substitute the long dagger as an ax when she was cutting the wood down into various pieces or so but it wasn’t very hard to start working on them, cutting and carving the wood to make her primitive bow and arrows.By the time she was finished, she now had a nicely carved longbow and a few arrows she had cut and made from the wood she had gathered--and needless to say, Sigrid was very proud and impressed of herself on managing to make some slightly perfect primitive weapons just from the first try. However…she’ll need to be on guard and be very careful and extra alert when she ventures out from her cave shelter and hunt for food and water. After she readied her weapons, which are just her longbow, arrows in a quick makeshift quiver, her dagger blade, and her Swiss army knife, Sigrid took a deep breath, pulls the cover away, and makes more cover to the cave opening, to hide it from any intruders or predatory threats before she finally walked cautiously into the woods, to explore her unknown surroundings as well look out for any wildlife to hunt.Sigrid nearly jumped upon hearing the sounds of the dragons flying overhead above her as they randomly make noises from flight enjoyment cries, mating calls to ominously frightening hunting roars. It didn’t take long for Sigrid to reach some part of the unknown place she’s in and found that this is the same location where she had drifted and got washed up ashore into the beach. She saw that there are also scattered parts or washed-up stuff, which turned out to be parts of a shipwreck, from the storm-crashed boat she was in before and another old wooden-kind of a ship that got caught and crashed from a stormy hurricane as well.Sigrid figured that she could find whatever materials that got washed up on the beach and carry the supplies back to her cave-shelter campsite, so she scavenged whatever that is useful and managed to tie them up securely and tightly with the long rope she brought with her and then drag it back to the cave. After she was done with that, Sigrid trekked to another part of the place, trying to hunt for good food--and after an hour or so, she managed to catch, shoot, and snag a few rabbits, quail birds, and one big boar, which she’s very glad that this exotic unknown location also has the kind of wildlife she’s familiar of back home and then brought them all back into the cave shelter. The time passed on as Sigrid was cooking her food and neatly cutting up some strips of meat to make long-lasting jerky, that something else happened which caught the young girl’s attention.Sigrid was eating a bit of meat-strip to test the taste of whether her jerky is cooking better or not--when her head perks up upon hearing a very loud sound that almost echoed throughout the land she’s stranded on, and this is a sound that’s very different from the usual normal or new that she has now heard in this place. It is another dragon--but this one is different as it loudly roars out in a big noisy echoing wave and sounded like it’s trying to send out a distress call to whatever hears it.Sigrid stands up from her rock seat and tiptoes to carefully peek outside and see what’s going on.But all that she could see and what she can see to her vision range, the other dragons flying up in the skies had heard the loud distress call, and instead of responding to it, they all flew away to other directions like they’re trying to get away from it.Sigrid was confused and it looks like the roaring distress call is not stopping anytime soon…she decided to do the most reckless and stupidest thing she would never think of doing since she washed up ashore into this unknown land. She’ll be looking for the source of that dragon call, find out what it is--and help it if she can or put it out of its misery. She armed herself with the same weapons she brought upon herself, covered up the cave’s opening again safely, and then hiked towards the noisy dragon, heading to the direction where she heard them.00000
UP HIGH SOMEWHERE IN A SLIGHTLY ICY SNOWY MOUNTAIN…
Sigrid grunted as she climbs up high the side of a big grassy yet snowy mountain, with the use of metal rods, she picked up from the beach, as makeshift crutches to steady her climbing and make sure she doesn’t fall off from the mountain in case she slips or something.Sigrid sighed as she pulls the rod out and stabs to another spot on the ground and when she was about to climb up another step, she nearly slips but maintains her strong grip as a few rocky pebbles tumbled down to the ground below, making her look down and see how very high up she has climbed up to now then. She shivered and then shakes her head off to stave off the fear she feels rising within her upon seeing such a terrifying height she’s now high upon. Sigrid focused on following that continuous dragon roar, calling out for help, as motivation for her to continue climbing and going towards it, to find out and discover its source. It was bad enough to find out that it’s coming from such a high mountain such as this--but even worse that Sigrid herself had to climb it because the dragon roars were growing more in high pitch and sounded even more distressed than before like it truly wanted help from anyone or anything that hears it.Sigrid groaned. “Whatever you are, dragon…this--had better be worth it!”It was considered fortunate though that she was prepared for this kind of trip, dressed up in nicely good winter clothing gear, besides the weapons she brought along with her.By the time she managed to climb and reach the very sturdy flat ground, high up top almost at the peak of the mountain, Sigrid finally found the source of that noisy dragon racket. She stared in wonder and very much surprise, looking wide-eyed at the dragon, which is truly a different but special kind, that has electricity running throughout its body and shoots out charges up to the sky or into the ground like it’s living lightning itself.Except for the part that the dragon is completely stuck and trapped somehow under a solid block of ice, almost looking like the ice is pinning the poor beast down, no matter how much it charges up and strikes its electricity to break it but couldn’t.“Wow…!” Sigrid whispered softly in awe, and it wasn’t soft or low enough for the dragon to miss hearing it when it swiveled its head toward her direction and roared at her in a threatening tone.“Okay, it’s official--that is one amazingly cool dragon!” she commented out loud.It looks like the dragon was not very much pleased or happy upon seeing the human girl, despite that she voiced her statement in a good nice way. Then Sigrid snapped out of her shocked staring daze at the dragon, focusing on studying its trapped condition and figuring out how to break it free from its icy prison--even though she knows very well that it’s really dangerous to set this beast loose and have it turned on her when it decides to or not.It looked like that the electric dragon was previously trapped down in a crevasse below, but some earthquake, storm, or maybe global warming had freed it from its prison and was on the verge of getting out or flying out but then it suddenly got pinned by the weight of more ice and it tried to use its electrical powers to free itself but couldn’t.Sigrid studies it closely while she soothes and tries to calm the growling distrusting winged lizard-kind beast but it kept snarling and snapping at her, telling her to back off.The electric Dragon just roared at her again in a loud threatening sound and then electricity was charging up all around its frozen trapped body but Sigrid had enough of this and sternly scolded it, in which it surprised the lightning type or electricity kind of Dragon at the human girl’s reaction towards it.“Hey-hey--HEY! Now, none of that, you taser-charging dragon, you--! I’m trying to help you!” Sigrid snapped at it.The dragon quickly settled from the human girl’s sudden stern words at it and then Sigrid just smiled warmly and reached out with a gentle hand to rub the dragon’s head to comfort it more and let it know that she’s truly there to help it.Fortunately, the dragon seemed to appreciate her gentle touching and tried to nuzzle closer against her soft hand but couldn’t move its head to turn sideways as it’s pinned under the heavy ice. That was when Sigrid got the instant splendid idea on how to get the big beast out of there and break it free. She knew it’s a long shot…but at the very least, she’ll have to try.Even if it’s the unimaginable--and scientifically impossible, so to speak. She aligned the two metal rods across one another, facing at the curious electric Dragon when it rumbled and trilled soundly like it’s wondering what the human is doing. Then she takes out her long dagger and Swiss Army knife, readying them until she said to it softly, “Okay, bud. I know this may sound strange…but I want you to charge up the metal rods together okay?”It gave a curious croon before it did what Sigrid told it to do, shooting a low lightning shot at the two rods at the same time and they charged up and electrified one another into the empty point in the middle like a battery charge and Sigrid swiftly engulfed the dagger blade into it, suddenly erupting it into the blazing hot fire then pulls it back and heats up the ice while using the hard digger point of the Swiss Army knife to hammer and break the ice.The ice-breaking process took only half an hour to do so when the dragon understood what the human is doing and it keeps shooting lightning at the rods to charge up the electricity so that Sigrid will work on heating and shattering the ice until the dragon is free.It didn’t take long for Sigrid to smile widely when the last block of ice was heated and then broken apart by its weak point with the small multi-usage knife and once there is a sound crack and it spreads to break it apart, she cried out to the dragon. “Okay! NOW!”The dragon gave a great big roar, charges itself up again with electricity--and then bursts out of the ice with a dramatic flying flourish as it swooped up high into the skies and roared screeching with triumph while more lightning charges up and was shooting out of its entire body, almost like it’s summoning up a storm as it flew around and about happily.Sigrid smiled at the amazing sight and didn’t mind that the dragon was charging up with its lightning power like soaking up the Sky or Thunder God’s might into its very being, as it celebrated its freedom thanks to her help. Now that she freed it, she gathered up her things, including the smoking turned-off electric-charger metal rods, to hike back down the mountain and return to her camp at the cave shelter…when Sigrid stopped, freezing still upon hearing a soft swooshing sound and heard a crooning purr behind her.She slowly turns around and sees that the dragon had landed back on the ground to stop the human from leaving and the woman stands very still, wondering what it’s going to do with her, and was ready to flee if it decides to attack her.Instead…the dragon moved forward in its front wing haunches and two-legged clawed-feet talons, and then looks straight into her own eyes like the dragon is peering into her very soul for a heart-stopping tense moment. Then it ended on a surprising yet happy note when it suddenly nudges its head against her side, nuzzling and purring like it wanted the human to resume its soft gentle touching at its head or scaly hide.Sigrid obliges the winged creature without hesitation as she smiles and moves her hand to rub gently and affectionately at the dragon’s head, finding a pleasurable spot that makes the dragon nuzzle closely and get more for it while happily wagging its long spiky tail and half of its scaly electrified body was trembling with delight.“Well now…I think this is going to be the beginning--of a strange yet unique friendship!” Sigrid commented as she kept rubbing and stroking under the dragon’s chin as it purred and rumbled soundly, basking in the affectionate attention from the human girl like it’s agreeing with her statement.000000000000000 00000AUTHOR’S NOTES:Another new chapter is finished, I hope you like it!If you’re wondering what part of the story this is--it’s before Dragons’ Race to the Edge Season 2 Episode 11 “A Time to Skrill”And Yes--the TV episodes/series will be merged and canon-divergent into this story I’m writing on--with many changes and others into it! TIME PASSED BY…ABOUT A FEW DAYS LATER, A WEEK OR SO…STILL IN THE SAME UNKNOWN PLACE, AT THE CAVE SHELTER…
Time has gone by and days had passed since Sigrid had drifted somewhere in this unknown place of the world still and it’s been days ever since she made friends with one of the Dragons--especially with the special lightning-wielding powerful kind of Dragon.Even though the electric-charged lightning kind of dragon is not used to the sort of camp shelter Sigrid has made for herself down on the ground at the slightly deep dark cave, it had to get used to it since it seemed to understand that the human is helpless and vulnerable to any other threats or dangers on being out on the open outside.Even with the formidable kind of weapons Sigrid had made or already has on hand and the fact that she has this lightning-wielding Dragon as her new guardian and friendly companion, the human woman is still vulnerable when it comes to other dragons that won’t hesitate to swoop down and catch her as their prey.Despite that, the dragon seemed to be overly protective when it comes to the young human girl that he guards very fiercely because she is its savior.Still, it looks like Sigrid might choose to leave the place with her new flying friend since the weather appears or it seems like the winter season is coming very soon, which the cold icy snow will ferociously blow through the place she’s on and make all the lush forest greenery turn into a snowy Iceland, which she’d rather not stick around upon staying there longer than necessary.Sigrid knows very well that this will be her first time to ride on a dragon and fly up high at the skies on one, she’ll have to toughen it up and bear with it, no matter how nerve-wracking and scary it would be.Ever since the day she rescued the electric dragon out from the ice and during the days they’ve been camping and living at her temporary shelter down at the ground cave, Sigrid was busy making and sewing her new winter clothing and gear before they commence their plan in leaving this place when the time comes or they’re forced to go if the incoming weather worsens or something else happens. Thanks to some ship-wrecked washed-ashore stuff, as well as scavenged parts, with a little help from her flying creature friend, Sigrid managed to grab and make everything she needed until she is fully packed and ready to leave on the back of her dragon companion.Among the things that Sigrid scavenged and salvaged from the exploration of the place and all the kinds of stuff that washed ashore on the beach of those shipwrecks, Sigrid has enough to make, create, and fix what she needed, from new clothing for all kinds of seasons to a secure newly-made dragon-kind saddle. And that also includes books, which Sigrid had found among the shipwrecks and was surprisingly dry and intact upon being washed ashore and she was very glad and relieved of that because a few of them hold the knowledge that she needed to know of the world she’s now in.Like discovering that she somehow transported into another dimension or other world magically or something upon finding a map book of the world about it, as well as a book of Dragons that illustrated and told all kinds of Dragons that exist in this strange yet special new world she’s now stuck and living in from then on.Sigrid was glad to find out what kind her new winged friend is by the Dragon book and discovered that his kind and breed are called and known as the Skrill.Speaking of the kind of riding clothes and saddle for the electrical Skrill dragon, besides feeling very glad upon finding the other stuff, Sigrid is also very relieved upon finding lots of rubber material as well, which can be used and remade into sewing clothes the kind that insulates electricity and very lightning-proof--even make the kind of saddle for her to be able to ride her dragon.Even though she already has soft comfortable rubber slightly tight bodysuit to protect her from being electrocuted or shocked upon riding the Skrill, Sigrid feels like she had to make more just in case she loses the suit or it tears apart into rags upon being worn too much or something. After accomplishing her tasks successfully into making the necessary and electric-proof stuff, Sigrid packs up all her supplies and things to get ready upon departing the place for good, and travel and explore out there in this new world. The Skrill crooned and purred, wriggling like the beast is excited and really eager to go as Sigrid carefully straps the rubber-covered slender small-sized saddle onto its big neck, being mindful with its sharp spiky quills and also its breathing gills when roping around the straps on its neck. It’s a good thing too that the saddle Sigrid made by hand was a perfect fit and that she was born with a lithe short body figure like a slender swimmer or acrobat, to ride comfortably astride it.Sigrid chuckled as she soothed the trembling winged beast when sparks of electricity were charging visibly in parts of its body, showing her of its excitement and eagerness upon leaving this place.“Easy, boy…just let me lock up the last belt strap and tie up the packing bags--and then we’re good to go,” Sigrid told it in a soft tone, that seemed to calm the flying beast easily with her gentle voice.Once she latched the last strap upon the saddle and slung the bags tightly secure, which the dragon didn’t mind the weight as they only have light luggage to travel along with, the human woman coaxes the dragon to test the saddle and luggage weight and double-check any discomfort right before they leave. After the dragon wiggles vigorously and shakes its body about, including spinning around for a few seconds, it gave a positive chirping trill at Sigrid, telling her that it doesn’t have any problems with the saddle or does not have any difficulty moving around and also fly with the luggage tied over around it.Sigrid sighed with relief before she puts on the cloth slightly thick furry tunic onto her, puts on metal armor guards and belts until finally, she puts on her weapons with arrow quiver and longbow strapped around her back, her long dagger holstered on her belt on the right side and the Swiss Army knife pocketed safely with matches and other useful stuff on a small pouch attached to her belt.00000
THE EPIC KIND OF MOMENT YOU’VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR…
Then without further ado…Sigrid takes one step into climbing over, riding to the top, and astride the saddle on the Skrill dragon when it froze itself still to let the human ride over it.And once Sigrid gave one last look of goodbye of the cave she took temporarily in, braces herself while double-checking the bags tied up in frontal sides of her legs, gotten her feet looped onto the saddle straps to steady herself, as well as grabbing on with her hands gently at the Skrill’s head spikes--the dragon roared out loudly like announcing out loud in a dragon call, springs off with a big pushing jump from its clawed feet, and soared up high into the skies with a big flap of its majestic wings, almost like a real flash of lightning.Sigrid’s screaming upon the sudden lift-off and instant flight into the slightly dark cloudy skies, turned from surprised fright into delighted amazement as she cried out loudly in a slight shriek when the Skrill made a rounding flying loop and swooped down for a flying dive maneuver.“This--is--SO COOL!!!”It’s like riding in a living breathing roller-coaster.Except this kind of roller-coaster has great big wings, sharp spikes, long wicked tail, sharp teeth, and its legged talons--even an electrical-charging lightning-wielding powerful energy in its very being--while also giving out majestic roars and cries, as it flies and swoops around, making the rider cry out but giving out loud meaningful praising yells and enjoyable whooping shouts. The Skrill gave a big loud roar again like it’s appreciating the rider’s praises or proudly showing off as it flew around madly and fast with every flight maneuver it could do.It was either a good thing or the Skrill was smart and aware to not call forth or channel the electrical lightning onto itself so that it won’t electrocute or badly shock its rider off him, even though the human girl did good work into making and creating electric-proof insulated saddle and stuff for the dragon and rider themselves. It didn’t take long for the dragon to finally stop with its mad excitable flying actions and hovered calmly up in the skies with wings wide open and outstretched, letting the breeze airlift it upon the wind aloft so still and very steadily.Sigrid sighed like she’s relieved or a bit disappointed that the dragon stopped with the crazy flight maneuvers as she had enjoyed it but she figured that the dragon must be tired or was content after showing off its skills, and decided to let it go until the next time when she’ll encourage the dragon and let it do its thing so that she’ll appreciate her new creature companion even more.Right now, she’ll focus on the important matter at hand, which is figuring out exactly where she is in this new world and pinpoint the location and go to where she needs to go next.Sigrid reaches into her belt pouch and takes out the folded map, she tore one of the pages from the map book of the world and looks at it while looking down to study the scenery below her with sharp keen eyes.“Okay…so the place we just came from was actually an icy glacial island--that somehow warms up on the ground during the warm seasons and turns back to ice and snow when the winter comes through there,” Sigrid said as she notes this down upon looking at the map held open with one hand intensely. The Skrill dragon gave a grumbling growl sound like it’s confirming affirmatively to her statement as Sigrid nodded after checking it and her eyes move to the next place or location they’ll need to go next.“Okay, so then the next place we need to go for…is somewhere where there is a pit-stop for us to take a break and rest and then continue on, once I plan and figure out our heading, boy. Hmm…speaking of which, I think I should give you a name since I already told you mine now that we’re close friends and flying buddies after all,” Sigrid said. The dragon warbled, almost chirping like it’s eager for the human girl to name him or maybe just accepting the polite and kind offer.“Alright then, how about…Rumble? Like the great rumbling sound of thunder?” Sigrid offered.Apparently, the Skrill didn’t seem to appreciate that kind of ironic name and gave a rumbling negative sound in response.“Right--not a good idea, huh? Sorry. What about--Spark?”Negative growl again.“Crackle? Lightning?”Definitely two snarling “NO”s on those names, with a meaningful harsh bucking movement of its body like it’s going to dislodge the rider off, if Sigrid continues telling and offering silly names that she’s giving out loud for the male dragon, which she instantly found out of its gender.“Wow…picky critic kind of guy, aren’t you?” Sigrid muttered lowly sarcastic before she thinks deeply for a moment, trying to come up with a very good yet suitable name for the proud Skrill dragon she’s riding on.“What about…Voltage? Volts, for short like a nickname. Just like mine, which is Sig or Grid. How about it?”The Skrill dragon gave a loud appreciative soft growl like it seemed to truly like the new unique name, which sounded like it’s one of a kind and Sigrid smiled like she’s glad and very relieved that the male dragon is accepting it.“Okay--Voltage, it is then!”That’s when Sigrid spotted something, which appeared to be a good place to catch a break and take a quick short rest upon it. She quickly points it out for the dragon to follow her lead.“There, Volts! On those tall-standing sea stacks. Let’s rest there. WHOA!”Sigrid managed to get a grip and hold on when the dragon swiftly swooped down towards it and gracefully land right atop on the rocky surface of one of the giant sea stacks, standing very steady amidst the center or the middle of the ocean somewhere or something.Sigrid dismounts and looks around with a hand over her eyes like she’s trying to spot or see farther over the horizon, attempting to find another landmark to go to next or something. That’s when she heard hissing and she turned and saw her dragon friend snarling and hissing at something in a very negative way and Sigrid turned to where it’s staring straight at and saw ships passing by the sea-stacks, almost coming right below them nearly.Sigrid gasped and quickly crouches down to hide from view, even though the sea stack the dragon and her are on is very gigantic and tall enough for them not to be spotted by the people on the ships below. She tried to hush and soothe the still hissing dragon that seemed to be furious over something that’s on the ships and she wondered what it could be.Luckily, Sigrid had binocular scopes prepared as she takes them out from her belt pouch and then looks through them to see the source of why her dragon friend is growling like that.It turns out it took one quick look upon seeing the top deck from one or two of the ships to see what got the Skrill dragon so testy and angry.“Okay…they are absolutely and most definitely not the friendly kind for Dragons, both creatures and riders alike,” Sigrid murmured softly. She saw that all the ships passing through the sea-stacks below them, contained people that are most certainly Dragon Hunters.Besides the tell-tale metal cages that held living or dead dragons inside, as well as seeing the formidable fearsome weapons that are on top of the ships’ decks, ranging from large crossbows to gigantic catapults used to kill Dragons, Sigrid can tell that they won’t hesitate to shoot at them, if they ever fly down at them, either with a polite greeting or an unwelcome surprise. The Skrill suddenly moved like it wanted to swoop down there and blast away its lightning, to kill them all and destroy the hunters’ ships but Sigrid swiftly stopped him from doing so.“No! No-no-no-no--NO! Don’t do it, Voltage! I get that you’re really angry at them, being Dragon Hunters and all--but they’re not worth it, at least for now!” Sigrid tried to calm and soothe the raging beast. “There’s too many of them and there’s only the two of us--and I don’t think your electric-shocking lightning blasts will be enough to zap them all into oblivion!”The dragon swiftly calmed under her statement like it understood and the male dragon whined forlornly like it’s upset or very distressed that they’re just ignoring it but Sigrid calms it down again and soothes it, reassuring him that they won’t be.“Don’t worry, bud. We’re not going to let them get away with it. Hmm…if we’re going to be blending in with the locals around here, Voltage…I think I should go for the tall-dark-and-mysterious kind of look. Don’t you think?” Sigrid said vaguely in a slightly mischievous way.The Skrill dragon, now newly-named Voltage just warbled soundly like it’s wondering what Sigrid is talking about, looking at her curiously confused as the female Dragon rider smiled mysteriously in a devious secretive way like she’s got some good idea in her head.000000000000000 00000AUTHOR’S NOTES:Another new chapter is finished! …LAST TIME…
The Skrill dragon, now newly-named Voltage just warbled soundly like it’s wondering what Sigrid is talking about, looking at her curiously confused as the female Dragon rider smiled mysteriously in a devious secretive way like she’s got some good idea in her head.

HIGH ON TOP OF THE SEA STACKS…SOMEWHERE IN THE MIDDLE OF SOME PART OF THE OCEAN…
Sigrid didn’t clarify to her dragon friend, Voltage the Skrill about what she’s planning as she calmed it down, soothing it that they’ll attack at the Dragon Hunters’ ships when night time comes.Voltage paced around on the big frontal wing claws and talon clawed two legs restlessly while turning its head around, sometimes giving churring or warbling sounds curiously like it’s wondering what his human rider is planning or plotting to do.It was a good thing that the Skrill didn’t notice or wasn’t looking at how Sigrid is grinning more in a mischievous and very devious way as she rummaged around her things in the bags like she’s searching for something to go against the Dragon Hunters as they docked their ships right below them like they’re searching and hunting for the water types of sea dragons or maybe lying in wait to ambush any aerial dragons that might come flying by the tall standing rock-like towers. When she found what she’s looking for, her hands quickly went busy, moving around and working on something and the curiosity won over as the Skrill moved and looked over the human to see what it’s doing. It looks like she’s wrapping all of her arrows with a very thin string so tightly that it confused the dragon, even more, wondering what it’s doing and when Sigrid turned to look at the Skrill, the dragon blinked when it sees the very wide grin on her face.“Hey, Volts…just how fast can you fly and how agile you can be upon swooping down there and striking at the Hunters from one ship at a time?” Sigrid asked casually.Voltage seemed to sense or instantly understand that this is the chance they’ve been waiting for upon taking down the Dragon hunters and was visibly trembling and sounding vigorously eager to go fly and do it but Sigrid managed to calm the dragon down and stop it from doing so.“Whoa-whoa--WHOA! Easy there, my friend. We have to wait until sundown to fly down there and take them on,” Sigrid said, instantly reaching her hands out to rub and soothe her dragoon friend. The Skrill instantly changed its attitude from ferocious battle hunger to purring with pleasure as the male electrical dragon crooned and nuzzled its head against her soft gentle hands stroking under its slightly spiky chin.Sigrid chuckled, not minding that the Skrill is cuddling closely and asking for more as she calms the dragon. She never thought such a powerful proud creature would be such an attention hog just from her petting hands. But then again, Sigrid thinks that this Skrill dragon just had its first time feeling such warm soft touching from her and wanted more of it long as the human girl stays as his rider.“Okay, that’s enough, bud. I need to finish up improvising my arrows and we’re ready to go,” Sigrid said to the dragon softly and he whined a little with disappointment when the petting stopped.Sigrid continued her work as fast as she could but was careful that she can do, and it turns out that the string she’s tying around all her arrows are now just any string--but metallic string. So obviously…there seems to be some sort of idea she whipped up in her head, that involves this metal string that was tied and wrapped around her arrows--along with the way she glanced her eyes from time to time at the sparks of electricity that jumped from the big spines lining the Skrill’s back up to the long whip-like tail.Once she’s done with them and the sun is now halfway down, disappearing lower in the horizon as the night calmly arrives.00000
AND SO, THE NIGHT UPON THE OCEAN WAVES BY THE SEA-STACKS IS VERY STILL AND QUIET…BUT NOT FOR LONG…
The Dragon hunters on the decks of all the ships gathered there seemed to be bored but they kept their vigil as they keep waiting for something, either a nocturnal water-kind or aerial type of dragon that might come out soon.Even though a few of them look like they’re getting a little impatient and lash out, they hold down their anger and kept waiting until they obtain their goal, which is their Dragon prey that they’re patiently hunting for.Unfortunately for them--they didn’t expect that the hunters…are going to be the hunted.SWOOSH!THWACK!One of the hunters jumped, blinking his tired weary eyes in surprise upon hearing a soft thud against the wood, turned to where he heard it, and saw a strange sparkly arrow that embedded itself deep into the center of the deck of the ship.He thought that one of the other hunters was fooling around with his crossbow and turned to check. But that became his greatest mistake upon turning his back and didn’t notice how the tail end of the sparkly string wrapped around the arrow suddenly sparks and lights up, fizzing down the wooden bow like a fuse until it reached the bottom end and then--KA-BOOM!!!A great big explosion blasted on the ship where that silent arrow just hit and screams and yells were heard as the hunters were fleeing for their lives, jumping overboard to avoid drowning with the sinking ship.Flying fast but silent like the wind itself, the Skrill flew around high above the ships, just as Sigrid takes aim and shoots arrow after arrow silently, after igniting them with the jolt of electricity that sparks behind the rider on the dragon’s back electric-sparking spines and upon perfect shots, they instantly explode like real dynamite or fuse-lit grenades, only the kind shot by arrows. But when it comes to the imprisoned dragons on their cages, the Skrill dragon Voltage flew close enough for Sigrid to aim another kind of arrow she modified that has some strange hand-sized glass orb inserted to the arrow tip and when she shoots it and it hits straight right at the cage bar locks perfectly, the acidic liquid was spilled upon the glass breaking on impact, swiftly melting away the locks and freeing the dragons once they realized what happened and understood, bursting the door open, and instantly flying to the air for freedom. The Dragon Hunters tried to capture them upon running to their catapults but Sigrid continued shooting the exploding-bomb arrows one by one in rapid succession, at the ships’ top decks or sides, blowing them apart and sinking them, and Voltage the Skrill helped upon shooting lightning from its mouth when he’s all charged up and didn’t hesitate to strike after they see the caged or captured dragons fly free from their prisons. All the hunters had no choice but to flee for the lifeboats and jump into the sea and swim for their lives, even though they are doomed upon being part of the vast ocean, they made a mistake on anchoring ships there--Sigrid was yelling out with triumph and glee after she shot two last exploding arrows onto the last ship, blowing it up and sinking it and the Skrill gave out a sounding triumphant roar like the dragon is celebrating with its rider.“WHOO-HOO! WE SURE SHOWED THEM, HUH!?” Sigrid whooped gleefully in cheering shouts and the Skrill had to shoot a lightning bolt into the skies like the dragon wanted to shout out its successful triumph to the Gods above, and it almost seems like they’re responding when the slightly cloudy night skies started thundering soundly and about to rumble loud to signal an incoming forming storm.“WHOA! Okay! NOT a good idea, bud! I’d rather not be going through another storm like last time if you keep stirring the skies like that!” Sigrid scolded her dragon, stopping it from doing more lightning shooting above them. The Skrill chattered and trilled in apology like he knows what his human girl has gone through before, almost seeming like the dragon and the human rider are already forming a solid partnership or some kind of symbiotic close bond with one another.“Right--now that we’re done with these bad guys and freed the dragons…how about we hover about and scout around to see if there’s anything useful that’s floating above the sea waters for us, is that okay?” Sigrid asked.Voltage grumbled like it didn’t want to grab or do anything with stuff that belongs to the Dragon hunters but Sigrid managed to convince it.“Oh come on, Volts. I thought it would be nice to just grab a few weapons floating about for me to use, as well as any scattered cloth or materials for me to be able to survive through this kind of world. You know I’m not made of stronger stuff like you dragons, right?”The Skrill seemed to understand his human rider and begrudgingly relent that she has a point so it swoops down but gently hovers a few feet above the deep sea because its true weakness is water.Fortunately for the dragon only, there’s not much stuff to salvage when only a few stuff is floating on the water to grab at and Sigrid fished them up with the use of her longbow, by using the string ends that curve like a hook.Once she got the floating cloth, after wringing them hard and dry so that the dragon won’t get wet, and the few weapons she managed to grab upon the ships, which some of them stayed afloat but they still sank into the ocean deep in slow motion, Sigrid and her Skrill dragon Voltage flew away fast just as they had arrived, leaving the sunken ships and the drifting people that grabbed on floating boards and such, which shows that there were only some survivors after the sudden unexpected attack on them.00000
SOMEWHERE IN THE DRAGON-FILLED WORLD…INTO THE UNKNOWN…
Sigrid and Voltage left the sea stacks and flew away, continuing on their journey about someplace to go and live when they find land again. They were high up in the skies again but they can still see the land and water below so that when Sigrid spots another place or a location that the Skrill might like, they’ll be flying down and land there. It didn’t take long for them to find it upon seeing another beautiful landscape that seemed suitable for both the human and the dragon to stay on for the time being, how long that might be. And the Skrill didn’t need any coaxing or encouragement from Sigrid as it slightly tucks its wings to fold and dives, swooping down to do a graceful landing onto the soft grass of the land they arrived into.“Hmm…well, this place looks comfy enough for both of us to stay. What about you, Voltage?” Sigrid asked after studying and criticizing the place they just landed on and turned to her dragon friend for his opinion. The Skrill didn’t answer as he quickly bounded over to the lake that was there and started snatching or snapping with its jaws like it spotted something that it needs to grab quickly and it turns out, which Sigrid is surprised to see, that the dragon was gorging on electric eels, that’s a dragon’s favorite food or diet.“I’ll take that as a yes then,” Sigrid said, a little amused upon watching the dragon’s exuberant antics. Then she focused on finding a suitable shelter for her to make and set up in this new place, that’s when she caught sight of big sturdy trees that provided good cover from the hot sun, as well as other weather elements such as heavy rain or snowfall.Granted the fact that they won’t stay at that place long until Sigrid finds a very suitable shelter, which will be good for both her and her dragon.Speaking of her dragon, Voltage had finished gorging on the eels as it smacked its lips and jaws, wriggling with delight upon having its fill of a delicious treat before prancing over to his human friend then he tilts his head to the side curiously over what she’s doing upon hanging up a big cloth over her head after slinging a rope over one of the high branches and then pulling it up, to make a slightly big tent.Sigrid laughed when the dragon poked its head inside the tent’s opening to look around inside before moving its head out and then returning back in, like it’s baffled with how ingenious his human friend has quickly done with this makeshift camping tent, even just for a short time so quickly. But then again, Sigrid had been used to camping, almost all the while, since in college breaks or summer vacations, she wanted to experience what it feels like to survive out in the wilderness from the modern world she had come from before. She was very glad that her experiences and the skills she learned were put to good use at the time, here in this new world she’s in.Sigrid managed to coax her dragon to stop with its silly antics upon looking in and out of her tent and encourage him to go hunting or do its flying run and let the dragon enjoy himself.Voltage looked like he didn’t want to leave his rider alone but then there’s a small thunderstorm that’s going on in the southern end, and the Skrill was eager to recharge itself or something as he flew off quickly to those dark clouds and get the lightning before it leaves.Upon seeing the storm clouds that her dragon friend is heading at, Sigrid rather be prepared in case it might blow through the campsite, so she made sure that the tent she hangs and ties to the tree is secure enough before going inside when the first raindrops poured near the spot of her temporary campsite.Sigrid was relieved to see the thick cloth that she made up as her tree tent is holding on strongly and securely and was glad to see that the rainy weather at the time is not windy but she almost jumped or flinched nervously every time there was a rumbling or thundering sound of lightning as the storm clouds pass by above the spot of her shelter.Still, she managed to busy her mind from worrying as she looked over the things she scavenged and grabbed from the fallen sunken ships that were attacked by her and her dragon before, perusing over them like deciding what to do with them or recycle them for better use.Sigrid didn’t grab much, since the ships were sinking almost too fast at the time before but at least she managed to get them anyway, so she’ll have to make do with what she has now.By the time, she finished sorting them as well as fixing a few of them that are a bit in disrepair or broken slightly, her friend Voltage had returned as the Skrill shakes its body vigorously to get any water droplets on him off before hastily goes inside the tent so that it won’t get wetter from the ongoing pouring rain outside.Sigrid smiled at her dragon friend as he looked around more curiously at the contents she laid out and sorted neatly inside the tent. Then she stopped when Voltage was nosing at the objects she laid on the floor as she seemed to be working on them for something and needed to finish the project quickly before her dragon might disrupt her task.It didn’t take long for her to succeed and finally finish the job, while Voltage curls and lies down on the ground to watch her with interest until she’s done.It turns out that she was making some sort of masked costume, complete with the intricate Celtic-design ensemble from black hood and cloak, and some sort of dragon body armor she’s putting on with the same dark black bodysuit she wore underneath the slightly shining dark armor and almost platform-high boots to make Sigrid taller than her normal height, and lastly, to top it all off, she puts on a mask that covers almost half of her face, only leaving her eyes out but shadowed under the dark hood, shading her entire face and neck down from view.“So what do you think? Do I look as mysterious yet as frighteningly scary with the way I look?” Sigrid asked her dragon as she showed off her new look.Voltage tilted his head to the side like he’s confused why his human would bother changing looks as they are still the same by scent. The dragon just shrugged with a slight huff, looking like he’s thinking that humans are strange, and then lies his head down on the ground, spreading his wings together to cover over his body like it’s protecting itself when going to sleep.“Wow…you’re a lot of help,” Sigrid said in a deadpan tone before looking over her costume on her own.“Hmm…I think this ensemble is still missing…something,” she said thoughtfully after checking herself out. That’s when Sigrid was staring intensely at her left hand in a deep thoughtful look, followed by her right one, and her eyes darted from one to the other like there’s another idea coming into her mind.00000
TIME PASSES BY…ON A DARK CLOUDY NIGHT…WITH AN AIR THAT FEELS LIKE SOMETHING IS COMING…
Up in the skies, seemingly peaceful and quiet throughout the night, there are five dragons flying by with their human riders atop of them. Each of the human riders and their dragons is bonded with one another in a solid friendship, whether pairing by their type of personalities or their personal nature. And each one is significantly different yet special in every way as these riders have bonded with their dragons. On the two-headed Zippleback dragon, are its two riders, the twin siblings Ruffnut and Tuffnut Thornston. Though these twins are mischievous in nature, they are fierce in their rights upon riding their dragon and fought together well, thus naming their dragon from the two heads of Barf the gas releaser and Belch the fire sparker.Next, the two strong-headed yet united front, albeit the dragon has a literal fiery being, is Snotlout Jorgenson and his dragon the Monstrous Nightmare named Hookfang. For the other dragon riders, there is Fishlegs Ingerman, the knowledgeable yet lovable human rider with his dear dragon Meatlug the Gronckle. Then there’s the spiky Deadly Nadder dragon called Stormfly with its fiercely strong yet beautiful human rider Astrid Hofferson.Last and finally, who is the leader of the small pack of Dragon riders, is Hiccup Haddock with his best friend of a dragon, Toothless the Night Fury. They look like they’re going on some sort of mission as they flew in an unknown direction across the vast oceans. And it looks like they’re not stopping, no matter how slightly haggard or exhausted the dragons or human riders are.But it looks like they’re not even that tired because they seem to be fired up or motivated over something that centers on the goal of their mission they’re flying and traveling out on.It was revealed what kind of mission these Dragon riders are on when Hiccup spoke for the umpteenth time to his friends. “Okay, gang! We only got one shot at this--if this goes right, we might have a chance on finding out where Viggo’s home base is!”“Yeah, we know! Sheesh--you already said that almost a million--!” Snotlout groused but flinched when Astrid turned and snapped at him.“Shut up, Snotlout!”Snotlout grumbled when Astrid returns to looking and riding in front of her dragon, which made Hookfang growl lightly like he’s scolding his rider for the foul language he’s muttering under his breath.“Ooh boy! I can’t wait to bring in all the mayhem onto those dastardly Dragon Hunters!” Tuffnut said with a dramatic wave of his fist-raising up.“You said it brother!” Ruffnut agreed with her brother.“You two--please! Do not bring this ‘mayhem’ as you speak onto those poor dragons! Remember--the hunters might have already captured them and lock them up in cages, so you need to lessen the damage to the minimum until Meatlug and I free them!” Fishlegs implored at them with his dragon agreeing in sounding grumbles and growls.“Hmph! Killjoy!” Tuffnut dramatically huffed, crossing his arms with his sister doing the same.“Alright, guys! Get ready!” Hiccup suddenly ordered as he points out the few ships he spotted ahead on the slightly dark horizon of the seas they’re flying over and through.Little did they know…as the Dragon riders are quietly following the ships as they are sailing near a familiar-looking group of tall sea stacks…they are in for the unexpected thrilling surprise of their lives.Just as they are nearing on top of them with the head rider Hiccup on the lead, gently coaxing his Night Fury to take the first shot--FLASH! BANG!Instead of Toothless the Night Fury dragon that shot first--it was an unexpected lightning attack that struck at one of the Dragon Hunters’ ships, and the hunters didn’t have time to react upon defending themselves or fighting back when another series of lightning strikes continued shooting at the ships, in a continuous manner but not enough to sink the ships to the bottom of the seas because it’s like Mother Nature itself is aware of the imprisoned victims still on the vessels.“What the--!?” Hiccup exclaimed in surprise, nearly falling off from Toothless who flailed about from the unexpected attacks, and swiftly righted themselves up.The others reacted the same with Snotlout yelling out dramatically, “What in the name of Thor!?”All the Dragon riders could do…is just watch in shock and awe at the sight of the lightning come flashing down and striking at the hunters’ ships like the Gods above are sending down their wrath at the Dragon Hunters. It didn’t take long for the source of the lightning electric-shock attacks to reveal itself--or rather themselves--when they came swooping down from the dark cloudy skies.“By Thor’s Hammer!” Astrid cried out in shock upon realizing what she’s staring at.“Is that a SKRILL!?” Fishlegs screamed out, whether in wonder or in fear as the great lightning-firing dragon revealed itself.“Wait--do my eyes deceive me!? Or--!” Tuffnut suddenly said in a dramatic gasping way.Ruffnut continued and finished her twin brother’s sentence. “--is that SOMEONE riding the dragon!?”“Say WHAT!?!?”Both Hiccup and Snotlout exclaimed aloud in unison.True enough, there is an armored hooded and masked person riding atop the flying lightning-charging Skrill as they attacked the hunters’ ships with such grace and ease, similar to the solid bond between human rider and the dragon just like Hiccup and Toothless. It didn’t take long for some of the riders to snap out of their dumbfounded shock and then cheer for the new Dragon rider as they fly around, striking at the hunters and then blowing up or using acid to open up holes into the insides of the ships, the masked hooded rider leaping off the dragon and jumping back out onto the Skrill once this stranger freed all the dragons from their cages. When the hooded being took down the hunters without killing them, he does this just by throwing some strange hand-sized metal balls onto the deck and they watched when they suddenly exploded into some sort of sparking electric shockers, seemingly tasering all the hunters and people that step outside and into the decks when they were running for their lives or trying to get to the catapults to fight back but failed, and these devices swiftly stunned them to fall down unconscious. They didn’t see how the masked rider had freed the caged dragons from the inner decks inside the ships but they did see and watch how the person seem to wield wicked weapons, such as its great big longbow and special-modified arrows when the rider gracefully shot at the cages that were brought outside on the ships, did perfect shots as they were instantly blasted open, unlocking the dragon-proof cages and setting the imprisoned flying beasts free.By the time the Skrill and the dragon rider were done, they just watched in stunned awe until the rider and dragon turned right at them like they somehow were aware of the other Dragon riders since then and were staring at one another at a distance like some kind of tense stand-off or something. There was a tense silence for just one slightly long moment…Between the group of Dragon riders and the new strangers.Until Hiccup broke it by waving a small hand at the hooded masked being.“Uh…hi?” he greeted in a lightly meek but friendly voice. The masked person just gave a deadpan stare like he’s unimpressed at the dragon riders or something and the Skrill dragon he’s riding on, seemed to be sparking furiously like it was insulted, wanting to blast them off and make them all fall but his rider is soothing his dragon to be calm, which it easily settled and relaxed under his touches. The stranger just looked at the riders with an eerie emotionless glare for a moment--before the dragon rider and the Skrill abruptly turned around and then shot up high into the cloudy skies, disappearing instantly with a flash of lightning, that made the other riders shield their eyes from being blinded and then blink in surprise and confusion once they’re gone. There was a shocking silence among the riders again when they’ve disappeared and then…“Okay--what…was…THAT!?” Astrid exclaimed incredulously.“That, Astrid…was actually a Skrill--dragon rider!” Fishlegs said, sounding like he doesn’t know whether he should be afraid or be in awe of the new rider they have just seen and met, even just for a short moment.“Oh wow--this is amazing!” Hiccup said excitedly as he turned to his friends, not noticing how his dragon friend Toothless seem to growl with unease, staring at the direction where the Skrill and the dragon rider had disappeared to. “Don’t you guys realize how huge this is!?”“Yeah…I’m not so sure I would want that kind of guy allying with us within our ranks,” Snotlout suddenly said. “I mean--did you see that scary metal arm on that guy!? (shudders visibly) I don’t even want to mess with him if he ever loses his temper and grips somebody else at the throat with it!”“Wait--metal arm?” Hiccup turned to him, instantly confused and surprised by that.“Didn’t you notice!? That hooded guy was just like you, only his arm is completely metal and got wicked sharp claws at the end of it. Which I gotta say--TOTALLY AWESOME!” Tuffnut exclaimed dramatically with wide adoring eyes and arms spreading wide up high in praise.“I second that, bro!” Ruffnut agreed, her eyes and face all looking dazzled like she’s adoring or swooning at whoever the mysterious rider of the Skrill dragon is.“Ohh, of course, you do!” Astrid muttered, shaking her head at the typical twins before turning to Hiccup and said, “Hiccup--much as I can’t believe I’m saying this--but Snotlout is right. We don’t know who this rider is. I mean--did you see how ferocious the Skrill was, even its rider when they were striking and attacking the hunters? Not to mention the fact like the way how that guy was dressed and geared up like that?!”“Maybe he was hiding his identity so that the hunters won’t know what his face really looks like and protect himself and his dragon if they ever go hunting for them. I mean--look at them! The hunters aren’t dead--they’re just stunned by the shock attacks caused by the rider and the Skrill!” Hiccup protested, looking like he wanted to defend their possible new ally, even though his own Night Fury was glancing up at his human rider with consternation and disbelief, with the others also looking at him dubiously.Astrid shook her head at Hiccup’s naivety over this but she had to concede the point, agreeing with him silently in her head that they do need more allies, and the new dragon rider is a start with his powerful Skrill that bonded with him. However, she’s still harboring the suspicion that there’s something secretive and hidden about the rider that she doesn’t like. And she’d rather know who her new ally is by revealing their true face before she thinks about it or makes a decision into agreeing whether this stranger should be accepted as an ally or not.Astrid hoped that Hiccup would listen to her and be reasonable before he might regret being excited about possibly having another dragon rider that could join their ranks and then end up making a fatal mistake or something worse. It didn’t take long for them to snap out of it, including Hiccup, and they turned around and returned back to their home base, which is called the Dragon’s Edge.It looks like Hiccup is still excited and eager to see that dragon rider again, not knowing or was oblivious to the distrusting suspicious looks on Astrid’s face and the nervous one on Fishlegs.Snotlout is busy arguing with the twins as he seems to also agree with Astrid that the strange guy is suspicious but the twins rebuked him, still sticking to the fact that the dragon rider was awesome and such.Unbeknownst to the dragon riders, the new rider and his Skrill are still up the top of the cloudy skies they disappeared to but stayed there on the spot hovering in the air, watching them leave silently like spirits lurking in the night or ghosts. The stranger riding on the Skrill took off his mask and hood, revealing the young woman Sigrid Henderson, staring and looking thoughtful at the other riders. She was silent for a moment before she soothed her dragon friend to calm down again when the Skrill gave a soft trilling curious sound.“Well now, Voltage…it looks like we’re not the only Dragon riders here in the Archipelago. This…changes everything,” she said wryly, sounding like there’s some deep mystery going on when she and her dragon discovered the others, just as they felt and reacted the same when it comes to them in return.000000000000000 00000AUTHOR’S NOTES:Another chapter finished!
