Work Text
“He doesn't only look good, no, he also can do everything you ask him for. You need someone to do the chores? He will do it! Someone to write you an assignment? No problem. Or you need a partner for your boxing training? Here you have it! ““I don't do boxing.”“Hyung..”, he sighs. “Just technical speaking! Just take a look. “Not needing to be told twice the shorter male took a step forward, eying the object in front of him critically.
It looks really human but also really scary.
It was tall, kinda handsome too. But the scary things were his eyes, like they looked just straight up ahead. Because it's just a machine. A machine that everyone would recognize as a human, if it was to walk on the streets.“So what do you say?”“I say..Namjoon, you could probably make big money with this”, he says as he points at the machine in front of him. Even if the thought of a horde of machines walking on the streets of seoul terrifies him, he knows that a lot of people would have great interest in this kind of merchandise.
“Has he ever been in action yet?”“No, I wanted to wait to show you.”The other nods. Namjoon then turned back to his computer, probably to make a few more adjustments. He doesn't understand any of this geek stuff anyways. Then Namjoon spoke up. “JK 700.”, he said and suddenly the eyes of the machine started to move and Namjoon got in front of the object.
It was really weird calling it an object when it looked so much like them. Namjoon looked at the shorter male with a smile. “Hyung, I want you to give him a name.”“Me? Why should I name it?”, he asks with a raised brow. “Just do it, please.”He sighed and just nodded. He knew he couldn't deny his friend. Namjoon then spoke again. “JK 700, open your Name file.”He then looked at the shorter male, waiting.
Said man just sighed and looked at the robot, who was looking straight ahead again. “Jungkook.”, he simply said and instantly the machine's eyes shifted to the source of his voice. “Name registered. Hello, I am Jungkook.”, it said in the softest and prettiest voice the older had ever heard. How was Namjoon able to make it sound so pleasant? “Jungkook, register Name of your owner, Min Yoongi.”, Namjoon spoke again. Yoongi just stood there, staring at his friend in disbelief, stuttering. “Wait, what? Owner? What are you talking about? ““I want you to have him, Hyung. Let him help you in your household or with work, I don't know. It's my present for you. “, the younger smiled his dimpled smile. Yoongi sighed and took another look at the machine. Jungkook. “Just what am I supposed to do with you… “ To be continued… Or?
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
Just a few hours later Yoongi was sitting in his apartment, trying to focus on his work. Easier said than done with Jungkook standing in the middle of the room, watching every move of his and doing nothing else. Probably waiting for the mint haired male to give him orders. Yoongi sighs. this was all way too weird and with the machine breathing on his neck he will never be able to get some work done. Another sigh escaped his lips and he turned around in his pffice chair to face Jungkook. Did his eyes light up just now? No, this was just a machine, Yoongi thought and shook his head. "How did Namjoon manage to create something like you..", he murmured. "It's not in my knowledge how Namjoon-ssi had built me.", the machine answered and Yoongi, not expecting an answer, jumped at the sudden voice. "Fuck, don't scare me like that.", he breathed and grabbed his own chest. "I am sorry for troubling you like that Min Yoongi-ssi." Another sigh. Maybe yoongi should count how many sighs he will let out today? He stood up, the androids eyes following him. "You look younger than me. Call me Hyung, or else I'll think i am some weird old man.", he ordered and looked at the boyish looking machine. Said machines eyes flickered, unfocused until they land back on Yoongi. It's lips pulled up and it smiled. "Name data rewritten. Owner's Name : Min Yoongi, to be called: Hyung. " Yoongi didn't even listen. He just stared at the smile. Even the smile seemed real. Amazing. " I'm thirsty.", Yoongi finally said after he snapped out of his daze and started to move towards the kitchen. But Jungkook was faster. "I will bring you something to drink, Hyung.", he said and was already on his way to the kitchen, leaving Yoongi standing alone in the middle of his studio. What the hell? Why was he so eager? He shook his head and sat back on his chair, opening the a new file. Maybe he'll get something done now after the tension is less..suffocating. Jungkook didn't take long until he came back with a soda and a tray of snacks. "What are these?", Yoongi asked as he points at the crackers. "I thought these will help you concentrate better on your work, Hyung.", Jungkook smiled. Was that supposed to happen? Wasn't he only supposed to do whatever Yoongi tells him to? "Uh..thanks.." Jungkook just smiles happily. Totally confused, Yoongi grabbed his phone and texted Namjoon.

Call me iof anything else out of the ordinary happens Yoongi sends his okay and puts his pone back down. Looking up he saw Jungkook looking at him questioning. "Is something wrong? Did I do something unpleasing?", he asks. He almost sounded afraid. As if Yoongi being mad at him was the worst that could ever happen to him. This was weird. "No everything's okay.", Yoongi smiled. Jungkook smiled relieved and nodded then and took a step bvack, giving Yoongi the space he needed. He took a sip from the already opened soda, nodding in confirmation at the familiar taste. Maybe he'll get something done now. He started working. There was this new upcoming Idol he was supposed to write a few songs for. He already had the words n his head but at some point he just couldnt get the sound hzopw he wants it to be. Something was missing. After about an hour or two he had finished his second soda and all the crackers on the tray, but still wasn't satisfied with his work. He knew it would probably be enough for his boss but not for Yoongi himself. Jungkook seemed to sense the trouble in Yoongi's mind and brought him another tray with snacks and spoke up. "Did Namjoon-ssi mention, that I was programmed to be able to please my owner in a lot of ways?" Yoongi looked up. "Something like that...""Well, I am able acompany you in any kinds of sports, i can read and write and more. But I am also able to sing a child to sleep or in this case..being able to help your work in the field of music production.", Jungkook added."What does that mean?""It means I can help with the missing pieces if you want me to, Yoongi-hyung."Yoongi hesistated. He wasn't sure it was right to get help from a machine and if it could actually help him at all. But at the other hand did he get Jungkook from Namjoon to actually use him and what better way was there to test the machine'S abilities if not with his work? But was he seriously considering ... He sighs. It's worth a shot."You say you can sing? Well, let me judge that.", he says and gives him an outprint of the songtext and opebns the audio file. He watches Jungkook study the text and putting away the paper as soon as he started the music. And Jungkook started singing.I’m drunk with you I’m drunk with this night In the memories of you being cruel I’m wandering through those memories, looking for you I just wanna forget But I wanna know your heart, boy Just stay Baby please don’t goAnd there was it.That's how it should be.How was it possible for a machine to have such a beautiful and capturing voice?Yoongi stared as Jungkook had his eyes closed and sang.Perfection, Yoongi thought. But still not too perfect. The song already ended but Yoongi was still staring at the machine.Namjoon, what the fuck.
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
It's been three days since Jungkook joined Yoongi's home and Yoongi can say that he is slowly getting used to the others presence.Sure, it's still weird as fuck and will be for a while. It's just that Yoongi never really had anyone do anything for him so it's actually pretty hard for him to ask for something. Even if it's just simply makin coffee. He remembers his childhood. Well, if you could even call it that. Back then life was not kind to his family. When he was 14 years old, his mother died in an accident and left him, his father and two younger siblings to fight alone. His father tried his best to work hard so they had food on their table. But one man can only do so much.. So it was no surprise that he soon broke under the constant pressure and worries. When Yoongi turned 16 he decided that he couldn't keep on watching his remaining family suffer. So he dropped out of high school to get a full-time job while his father was getting worse each day. He began to drink, almost every night when Yoongi came back from work he could hear him cry. The young boy tried to keep his siblings away from the problems as good as possible. They were still too young to actually understand what was going through their fathers head. But Yoongi understood. He understood the sadness, the loneliness, the pain. He felt it too after all and he felt responsible to not let his siblings feel the same. The memories from that time were still painful, it's a miracle he got through that time and the time after too. All thanks to one Kim Namjoon. He was alive. Now he was 23, thanks to Namjoon he was able to get his foot in the music industry and his dream to become a music producer became true. It was hard but he did it somehow and now at his young age was one of the most asked for producers. How he actually managed to get him that job was a mystery to him. Maybe because Namjoon was a genius, talented and had a great understanding for sozializing. All that Yoongi lacks at.At least in his opinion. He still came over from time to time to record a few tracks with Yoongi for fun but that was it.And now Yoongi was sitting here with Namjoon's creation, Jungkook. They were seated in the living room and it was late afternoon."You hardly go out of the house, Hyung. Why is that so?", Jungkook asks suddenly."I don't like people that much."Jungkook hums as if he understood and was silent for a few minutes.Yoongi already forgot about this conversation as he was reading a few articles about the release of his song, when Jungkook spoke again."Do you like me, Hyung?"Startled, Yoongi looked up from where he was sitting, confusion written on his face."What are you talking about?", he asked.Jungkook looked down, as if he was shy, when he replied."Earlier you said that you don't like people that much. So I was wondering if you like me at all."Yoongi was silent and Jungkook added "I personally believe that Hyung has a very fascinating personality."Yoongi blushed at the androids words.Him? Fascinating? He was plain and boring. How could anyone ever think of him as fascinating? Then it dawned him.Jungkook was programmed to please. Of course he would say things like that to his owner. He seriously forgot for a second, that Jungkook was not human. Why did that make him so sad all of a sudden?"Yeah. Of course I like you...", he finally said."You're a big help.", her added. "With work and all that."It seemed almost as he was lying to the android. But after all he was just a machine, not a human. Yoongi shouldn't be too conflicted about what to say to the other. And maybe it was Yoongi's fault too, that he started to get conflicted. He let the android call him hyung and that makes Jungkook seem even more alive and that was a scary thought. He thinks about telling Namjoon about Jungkook asking him such a question, but maybe he only did it so he can please Yoongi better? When the android knows that he is being liked or not, it's probably helpful for him to do the best job for his owner.Yoongi nods to his own thoughts. That has to be it.But then he wonders how much the android actually knows about him through his program...
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
It's been three weeks. After three weeks Namjoon and Seokjin came to visit him. While Namjoon was busy checking Jungkook, Jin and Yoongi sat on the couch."Can you please stop looking at me like that, Hyung?", Yoongi said when he was done with Jin staring curiously at him. He can't help but feel intrigued whenever his hyung looked at him like that. "It's just... I've never thought you would agree to participate in Joonies little projects.""You know as well as me that his projects aren't as little anymore.""You're right..", Jin smiled. "But still. It's not like you to do that. And now look at you. You have a literal machine in your house and I never once heard you complain."That's true, Yoongi thought. After all Jungkook was nothing more but helpful. Who was he to complain there? He still can't shake that uneasiness away that had appeared once the android stepped into this building. Yoongi glanced at Namjoon and Jungkook who were talking to each other. He still needed to ask Namjoon more about the machine's program In the last weeks Jungkook helped him eat regulary and made him finish his work. But in between he continued to ask him questions. Personal questions about his likes and dislikes, about his past and the present. And it really confused the male. First Jungkook seemed to know him so well and then he tried to get to know Yoongi. And even though he was confused, he wasn't really bothered, to be honest. He started to enjoy the others presence and to appreciate his help. "Yoongi?"He snapped out of his haze. "Oh ehm... Yeah, you're right. That's not like me..", he murmured and got up to join Namjoon."Hey, Hyung.", both him and Jungkook said in unison once his presence was noticed.Trying to ignore the android's smile, Yoongi looked at Namjoon instead. "Can I talk to you for a second?"
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
"So, how are you doing?" Namjoon asked once they stepped into Yoongi's studio, leaving Jin and Jungkook back in the livingroom.
"Maybe I should ask you that?" Yoongi grins.
"You and Jin-Hyung?"
That made Namjoon blush and Yoongi felt a tiny victory.
"Well.. That's.. Stop changing the subject. Are you okay? You seem out of it somehow. Did something happen?"
Sighing the shorter male shook his head.
"Not really. Jungkook's fine, you did good work with him. But.."
"What is it?" Namjoon asked with concern in his voice and Yoongi didn't dare to look up to actually
look
into those eyes.
"I have a feeling that I didn't thank you enough for what you've done for me all this time." the older one admitted.
"And now you even brought Jungkook here to help me and I feel less lonely, so thank you." he added and finally looked up to see Namjoon smile at him.
"Hyung, don't worry, okay? I'm glad I can be of help. By the way, do you still send money over to your siblings?"
Yoongi nodded.
"Don't you think it's time to finally tell them that it is actually you, helping them, instead of hiding behind a false name?" Namjoon asked then, but Yoongi only shook his head.
He wasn't ready for that yet.
"Well, think about it, okay?"
"Yeah… Ah by the way, what did you actually program into Jungkook about me? You said you had some informations installed?"
Namjoon thought for a little while.
"Well, only things like your favorite food, music and stuff like that." the taller one shrugged.
Sighing, Yoongi nodded and they both returned to Seokjin and Jungkook who were both now seated at the dining table.
"Joonie, you did very well with this one! It's so well behaved and full of knowledge, just like you!" Jin beamed, which send a blush directly on Namjoon's cheeks.
"I was so scared when I heard you made a robot. Like you know those movies about them out ruling the humans, killing people and all that." he said with a hand wave.
"But this one us nice."
Yoongi noticed how Namjoon brightened by his hyung's praise and smirked, knowing that his friend had a big crush on the broad shouldered actor.
He swiftly remembered how Namjoon couldn't stop talking about Seokjim, this handsome and funny theatre major in college. It made Yoongi really want to meet him and when he finally did he couldn't help but face-palm at this ridiculous man.
Sure Jin was one of the most handsome people Yoongi got to meet but he really was a strange persona. But the two strangely fit together. Well, if Namjoon could bring up the courage to finally ask the other one out that is.
Sighing Yoongi rolled his shoulders and stretched as the other continued to talk, but something felt weird. As if someone was looking at him.
And just like that he catches Jungkook looking directly into his eyes, smiling as he noticed Yoongi looking back at him.
Weird.
As time passed the other two finally left his apartment and the space was again filled with silence. That's nice.
But of course he felt Jungkook's eyes on him after he escorted the others out.
Smiling again this perfect smile, Jungkook stood in front of Yoongi.
"Hyung, are you hungry? I could make you something if you'd like. I noticed you haven't eaten the whole day."
The shorter male just nodded and stomped to his sofa, letting the android leave with a happy humming return to the kitchen.
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
"Hyung..!"
"H-hyung..?!"
"Hyung, p-please wake up..!"
Who's there? Why is it so dark?
"Hyung, please!"
Who are you?
Looking around he couldn't see anything but pure darkness. A heavy feeling settled on his chest as the pleading and screams didn't stop. It felt as if the darkness was about to consume him, as he stumbled around, trying to find the source of the screams.
"Yoongi…"
He quickly spun around as he heard a different voice call out his name behind him. But again there was only darkness around him..
"Why did you leave them? You're a good for nothing after all, huh?"
"Dad?" Yoongi called out, tears burning in the corner of his eyes as suddenly the blood stained face of his father appeared in front of him. Dead eyes staring right through him.
"You left them all alone to do what exactly? Oh right, you hide away and write sweet love songs for people who don't even know your name!" his father shouted.
"N-no I didn't… I didn't want to…" Yoongi muttered weakly as he stumbled towards his father, trying to explain, but he got pushed away.
With a burning cheek he landed on the floor, tears now flowing down his face.
"I left them with you, I thought I could trust you, but you ran away like beaten pupp with your tail between your legs. What a shame!" his father said, spitting in his face.
Yoongi just couldn't do anything but cry and stare as his fathers form suddenly disappeared in front of his eyes.
Again, everything around him was painted black. He tried to stand back up but the feeling in his legs was gone.
"Hyung..!"
Again he heard the muffled cry and only now recognized the voice.
It was his little sister. As soon as he put a name to the voice, both his younger siblings appeared before him, kneeling on the floor, staring at him with tear stained cheeks as he found himself lying in a pool of blood.
Where did all the blood come from?
He then felt something wet and hot dripping down his throat and when he went to check what it was he had his hands covered in dark red.
"Hyung, please don't leave us..!" he heard his siblings cry as he collapsed.
When Yoongi woke up, his face wet from tears and sweat, his first instinct was to check his throat for any bloody cuts.
His breath evened out when he found nothing and he threw his head back on his pillow. After dreams like that he was never sure how to feel. He felt mostly guilt, desperation but also such a deep sadness. There was this hole in his heart that was aching to be filled with some kind of numbness. Back then he used to drink his sorrows away but thanks to Namjoon he stopped doing that.
Sighing he stood up, wiping the sweat down and searching in his wardrobe for the hidden pack of cigarettes. His best friend doesn't need to know about that guilty pleasure.
When he found the pack and his lighter he left his bedroom and went onto the balcony and lit a cigarette, calming down with the first drag of smoke filling his lungs.
"Hyung?"
Surprised he almost dropped the cigarette as Jungkook suddenly stood next to him, looking at him questioning.
"Ah… You surprised me.." Yoongi said, his voice hoarse.
"I'm sorry.." the boy said apologetic.
"Are you okay? I didn't know you smoke."
"Well, let's keep that a secret, okay?" Yoongi managed to smiled weakly. Somehow this innocence of the young looking android was endearing.
Jungkook nodded and Yoongi took another drag, watching the smoke from the cigarette as he took as step closer to Jungkook, leaning his head against his shoulder, watching the stars of the night sky. He wondered what time it actually was.
"Hyung.. Is there anything I can do for you?" Jungkook asked in a whisper.
Humming he pressed closer against the other, taking his arm to put it around his shoulder in some kind of embrace.
"Just.. Stay like this for a while please?"
Yoongi didn't dare to look at Jungkook for his reaction, but felt oddly comforted when he felt his grip tighten a little, pulling yoongi close to his chest, humming a low tone and the elder closed his eyes.
This was nice.
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
Yoongi didn't know when but somehow he ended up back in his bed, covers pulled up to his chin and pillow fluffy under his head. The sun seeped through the window as the man squeezed his eyes shut, head pounding as he tried to go back to sleep. But then he remembered what had happened last night. He remembered how Jungkook had stayed with him, held him and how Yoongi actually had started crying in the end, while the android had him pressed against his chest, letting the smaller cry to his hearts content. God, it had been a while since the last time he actually cried in front of another person. Quickly he pulled the blanket above his head and groaned. So embarrassing…But this was Jungkook he was talking about. Jungkook, the android, who probably has no sense for that kind of discomfort. Why was he even worried about that to begin with? Sighing, Yoongi pulled back the covers and stood up, stretching his aching body and left his room. Suddenly a delicious smell filled his whole apartment and he spotted Jungkook standing in the kitchen, doing god knows what. Following the amazing sweet smell to the kitchen counter he found himself again standing next to Jungkook, watching him making something that looked like blueberry pancakes. "Good morning, Hyung." Jungkook smiled down at him. "Hnn..mornin'.." Yoongi murmured, his voice still raspy from sleep. "Please sit down" Jungkook said, his hand now on the small of Yoongi's back, guiding him to the kitchen table with an steaming cup of coffee in his other hand, placing it on the table as the smaller man sat down. The world suddenly felt so much brighter. "Breakfast is almost ready, so just relax." Jungkook added and continued with making pancakes. Yoongi couldn't help but smile as he inhaled the coffee aroma mixed with the sweet scent of the pancakes in the making. He relaxes in his seat as he took a sip of the hot drink and watched Jungkook put the food on a plate, placing it in front of Yoongi. "Thank you, Jungkook. I really appreciate it." he said, his voice sounding normal again. Jungkook smiled brightly when he heard his name being said. "Of course, I hope it's to your liking, hyung."The male just nodded and began to eat. Heaven made, Yoongi thought with a blissful sigh once he took the first bite. The day kept on going with Jungkook doing chores and helping Yoongi get through his day. After last night the man didn't feel like doing any work and actually for once thought about leaving the house. It wouldn't hurt to go shopping in a real shop instead online for once. His gaze shifted to Jungkook that was currently doing the laundry. "Jungkook." he said, catching the androids attention. "Let's go out today."As soon as the words left his mouth he flushed. That sounded wrong. Almost as he was actually trying to ask him out. Silly. "Where to?" Jungkook asked then, completely unaware of Yoongi's inner battle. "Shopping." Yoongi answered. Now that he thought about it, it wouldn't hurt to get Jungkook some clothes too, since he only has a few things that Namjoon brought with him. Not giving himself anytime to change his mind, Yoongi put on his shoes, grabbed his keys and Jungkook's hand and led both of them outside. "Let's go."
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
He didn't know what drove him to actually go out, because he regretted it as soon as they stepped foot in the shopping district.
His hopes were high that at this time and in the middle of the week wouldn't be many people. Of course that wasn't the case, as so many of them were walking the streets and occupying the shops.
He pulled the cap that he grabbed on their way out more in his face to cover himself up, avoiding looking at the people they pass by.
Jungkook though seemed to fit right in, not bothered at all with all the commotion around them as they walked towards a boutique.
Their first stop was luckily not that packed as they entered, the cool air of the air conditioning hitting their faces as they walked inside.
Jungkook's voice snapped Yoongi out of his trance, as the taller one looked at him.
"What are we looking for, hyung?" he asked.
Yoongi then noticed how Jungkook's way of speaking had changed the couple weeks that he had stayed with him.
He was still being very polite, but his sentences weren't as robotic anymore. It didn't sound like a programmed order of words like the first few times they spoke.. It sounded more human.
But since when exactly? Maybe since he told him, to call him hyung?
Yoongi noticed that he hadn't given an answer yet and coughed a bit.
"Well, I'm tired of your clothes. We'll get you new ones." he stated.
The other was obviously confused about that.
"But there's no need to for that, hyung. I have no value for something material like clothes.." he said.
Of course he didn't, but Yoongi did.
"Let me dress you either way. You're here to please me, right? I'd be very pleased to see you in something that suits my taste, understood?" he said, hoping that the other would take the hint as he phrased the last part like an order. And he was right.
"Yes, hyung."
They spent the next few hours with looking for clothes, Yoongi making Jungkook try on a lot of things until he settled on getting him a few shirts, some loose fitting jeans and a new coat, until he was completely satisfied with Jungkook's new wardrobe.
It actually was quiet fun, seeing Jungkook's confused expression, whenever he had to enter a changing cabin, turning into a gleeful smile once he looked at himself in the mirror and then to Yoongi for approval.
It made him forget about all the people around them and he found himself smiling more and more throughout the day, the past night almost completely forgotten.
When they were finally on their way back home Jungkook stopped in the middle of the walkway, grabbing Yoongi's hand.
Confused the smaller one looked up at the android.
"Thank you for today, hyung." Jungkook said with a soft expression on his perfect features.
Yoongi couldn't help but stare, at a loss of words again, heat creeping up his cheeks.
It's been a while that someone had looked at him like that.
He quickly looked away.
" No need to thank me. I wanted to do that.. And now let's go home, I'm hungry." he answered and continued to walk, intertwining their fingers as he pulled Jungkook with him.
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
A week after the shopping trip, Yoongi had been in quiet a good mood. He took a break from work, since there weren't any important projects waiting for him and he didn't feel all too motivated anyways and just spend his time with other things he enjoyed. Like rewatching his favorite tv show, but also finally finishing that one book he had gotten from Namjoon a year ago. He even joined Jungkook with doing the housework, which felt oddly domestic. But if he was actually honest with himself.. It was nice having someone with him. With Jungkook it didn't feel like he would bother another person, since he always had the feeling that his friends only pitied him in the end. Jungkook though probably didn't even know what pity was. And that's what Yoongi was glad for. The week went by in a comforting rush and even the nightmares weren't as present as they used to be. So when it finally was time to go back to work, Yoongi was actually feeling really motivated. He told Jungkook to leave him for a while in his studio, so he could concentrate on his work, and started his computer. Time to check his mails. Of course there were a few from his company, asking when he would return and that a few artists were asking for his input. But there was one mail that actually caught his attention. "You have something that's not yours" the title of the mail says. "What the..?" Raising a brow he clicked on it and started reading.
Dear Min Yoongi,
You probably wonder who I am..
For a long while now I have been searching for a product that had been stolen from my company. A few months ago said product was reported as stolen and it was a huge struggle to get a clue on how to find it back… Now I have been informed that my product had become your little pet now, Mister Min.
I highly recommend returning the product or else consequences will follow.
With best regards,
B. H. E.
Attached to the mail was photograph of him and Jungkook walking down the street hand in hand from the day of their shopping trip, along with other pictures of both of them in his apartment, like someone had taken the photos from outside his windows. What the hell is that supposed do mean? , Yoongi thought confused. A shiver ran down his spine and he suddenly felt sick as he looked around his studio. Was he being followed? And what product where they talking about? Quickly he stood up, walking to the window and drawing the curtains shut before leaving his studio. He froze in his tracks as he spotted Jungkook sitting on the couch. Jungkook, he was the product, Yoongi realised. "Hyung? Are you okay?" Jungkook asked concerned as he noticed the other's shaking form. Yoongi though didn't beat around the bush. "Namjoon didn't actually build you, am I right?" Jungkook froze, staring at his owner with disbelieve, clearly unsure on what to say. That only confirmed Yoongi's thought though and he began to pace through the living room. "Amazing! What else had been a lie?" Yoongi asked, his voice trembling. Namjoon had lied to him, had stolen some random machine and actually thought it was okay to let it stay with Yoongi! And now someone was threatening him. "Hyung I a-" "No!" Yoongi interrupted him. "No more words.. Just, call him over. Call Namjoon over right now." he ordered, his voice trembling. He was just so confused and didn't know what to believe. His heart tells him to believe in his best friend, but his head was repeating the mail all the time. He had to talk to Namjoon..But one thing was clear : No matter how confused, hurt or angry Yoongi may be.. He will listen to what Namjoon has to say to all this and he won't just let go of Jungkook.
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
Yoongi didn't say a word when he opened the door of his apartment to let his best friend in.
Namjoon stood there, expression serious and someone else Yoongi didn't recognise was standing close behind him.
The elder took a step back to let Namjoon inside with the stranger, eying said stranger sceptical but still not saying anything.
Not until he had both standing in his living room and he shoved the printed email into his friends hands.
"Explain." he ordered.
Namjoom read through the email and handing it to the person next to him once he finished.
The stranger sighed, adjusting his glasses and look at the smaller man then, speaking in Namjoon's place.
"Well, to start things off, my name is Kim Taehyung, I'm a colleague of Namjoon-hyung, that…well, helped steal the 'product'." the stranger, Taehyung, explained.
"Technically speaking we didn't steal anything!" Namjoon interrupted.
"I really build Jungkook. Hyung, you have no idea how much time I invested in him.."
"It." Taehyung corrected.
"Him!" both Namjoon and Yoongi said in unison, Yoongi staring daggers into Taehyung's face, who just shrugged it off.
"Okay whatever, continue.." Yoongi ordered.
Namjoon nodded as he spoke up again, his eyes landing on the subject of their talk sitting awkwardly on the couch.
"The research lab I worked at allowed me to work on private projects too, which was awesome, I thought! That's when I started on building my first androids, the final product a humanoid machine with almost all the knowledge existing out there." the taller man explained, his eyes never once leaving Jungkook.
"I was naive to think that they would let me have him. Of course they monitored everything I did since the second I decided on creating Jungkook. Like everything it started out as a simple experiment but once he actually came to life I noticed he wasn't more human than I thought. He began asking questions. Questions that I wasn't able to answer because I was literally dumbfounded! Hyung, you have no idea how shocked I was when he asked me to take him outside because he
wanted
to go shopping or to the sea like normal humans."
Yoongi now too looked at Jungkook who stared straight to the floor, not daring to look at anyone in the room.
Before Namjoon could continue, Taehyung spoke up again.
" That's when hyung took me in, I helped with checking it's programming. To see if there was anything wrong with it, since it wasn't supposed to even
want
anything.
But the authorities soon wanted to have him for themselves, using this new created form of intelligence for 'greater' things, they said. You know, like war? Why send our people to die when they could have machines to fight for them. They asked hyung to install weaponry into his build and-"
" I didn't want that."
All eyes now landed on Jungkook when he spoke up for the first time.
" I was terrified at the thought of actually hurting someone and I asked Namjoon-ssi and Taehyung-ssi to take me away." he said in a pained tone.
"And you brought him to me.." Yoongi said then.
"You were the only one I could trust. I knew he'd be safe with you. Hyung, I am so sorry for not telling you the truth, I just didn't want you to be in danger."
"But now I am." he said.
Sighing he he went to get his 'emergency' cigarettes to calm his nerves, lighting one up before returning to the living room, blowing the spoke into the air.
Yoongi glared at Namjoon before he could scold him for smoking again, shutting him up.
"Since you got me into this mess, I have no choice, don't I? I have to do something about that." he said thoughtful.
Jungkook jumped up, looking at Yoongi desperately.
"Hyung.. Please don't take me back there.. I am.. I am so sorry for not telling you the truth! I really am! Its just..the time I spend here with hyung was the happiest I have ever been, I couldn't imagine, destroying all that." Jungkook said pleading.
Yoongi though stayed surprisingly calm.
" Well, to hell with that. You belong to me now, right? As if I'd just sit there and watch when someone tries to take away something from me that's mine." Yoongi declared. He didn't mean it in a way of ownership, no, he meant something deeper, something more meaningful than that.
Jungkook wasn't just a toy, he knew that for a long while now. Jungkook was a person on his own, that kept him company, made him feel like he was worth something. And Yoongi would destroy anyone who tries to take that precious boy away from him.
You belong to me, you became a part of me and I'm not letting you go.
Yoongi had a feeling, that Jungkook knew exactly what he was trying to say as the android crushed him in a tight hug, burying his face in the crook of the smallers neck.
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
It was the night after Yoongi got to know the truth. Sleep didn't come right away as he was tossing and turning on his bed, throwing away the sheets and burying his face in the pillows.
This was insane.
Of course he wanted to protect the android, he grew too attached to him, to just let him go. He'll stay true to his words. This time, he won't simply run away, he promised himself.
But the producer couldn't help but worry. They knew him, knew where he lived and god knows what else they knew about Yoongi. How was he supposed to get against a million dollar company? How was he supposed to protect Jungkook when back then he couldn't even protect his own family?
Then suddenly something in his mind striked him.
His family.
Yoongi jumped up from his bed and stormed to his computer, nervously waiting until he was able to open his mails.
He quickly began to type.
Dear Min Yae and Min Namjin,
I know you probably think I either ran off or died already. You probably hate me for that but please know that I've always loved you and tried to help to keep you both safe.
I'm so extremely sorry and I hope you both will someday be able to forgive me.
Yoongi took a deep breath, his heart racing.
I love you both so much.. I'm also sorry that I didn't contact any of you after we've been separated.. I left you alone and there's no excuse for that.
Unfortunately I won't be able to get in touch with you any time soon.. Things are happening and you both shouldn't be dragged into this, but I'm afraid that it may happen if I don't do something about it now.
I hope I'll be able to see you both again some day… please be safe.
I love you,
Min Yoongi
He was afraid on hitting send. Yoongi knew that they deserved to know who was sending them all that money anyways and that he was still there. Namjoon was right about it.
And even though Yoongi knew that he wasn't ready at all, he had to make sure to cut all the ties to his siblings for now, to make sure that they won't use them against him. So what better time to let them know that he was still alive?
Before sending the mail to his family, so they could transfer it to his siblings, he prepared another check, to transfer the money he had saved up for his little siblings to send it together with his apology mail.
When he was finished, Yoongi leaned back in his office chair and sighed deeply, his chest feeling tight as he turned down the computer.
Only when he stood up again to get a smoke he noticed Jungkook standing in the doorway, a worried expression coloring his features.
"Hyung..? Is everything okay?"
That had to be a joke. Of course nothing was okay, he so deeply wished it was though.
Yoongi forced on a pained smile.
"Yeah… Don't worry about it." he said and walked towards Jungkook to pat his head.
Jungkook though grabbed his hand in the air and pulled Yoongi again in a tight hug.
Stunned the smaller male just stood there.
"You don't have to pretend, Hyung. I know this is all too much for you.. And I can understand if you want to get rid of me.. I don't want to put you in danger anyways." Jungkook muttered against Yoongis head.
Yoongi stiffened at that.
"What?"
After his question he felt Jungkook slightly tremble.
"Taehyung-ssi said he'd have another place for to stay so we could keep you save.." the android said.
At that though Yoongi had to push him slightly away, still not daring to leave Jungkook's embrace completely.
"For a machine you're incredibly stupid, do you know that?" he grimaced.
"I told you, didn't I? I'm not letting them take you away from me." Yoongi said.
"If you go to that place, Taehyung mentioned, then only if I come with you."
He then broke away from Jungkook's arms to grab his hand instead and pulling him with him to his bedroom.
Confused the taller didn't argue and followed, even as he was being pushed onto the bed.
Yoongi then settles next to him, pulling him close so their limbs were tangled together after he pulled his blanket about both of them.
"Hyung? What are you doing?"
"Making sure you don't run away from me in the middle of the night." Yoongi answered.
He was lying though and he hoped Jungkook wouldn't notice.
The truth was that he simply needed him right now to hold him. He didn't want to be alone again and he was afraid if Jungkook was to leave, he won't be able to get out of the dark place that's his mind again.
If Jungkook noticed Yoongi's trembling form, he didn't comment on it. He simply pulled his closer.
