Lying next to your lover as he whispers sweet words into your ear is certainly something you enjoy. Today, Lindel is being more clingy than usual (you never thought you’d see this side of him), and you cannot help but bask in the attention as you both stare up into the stars. The reason for your lover’s change in attitude was an ordeal that had happened earlier in the day - and even after everything was over, the whole situation had scared you a little.
——-A college visit; something that happens in the aerie occasionally is one agreement in the long-term contract between Lindel and the magic college. The college’s most trusted students, studying in magical creatures and beasts get the chance to visit the aerie for a day under Lindel’s strict supervision. This isn’t exactly something he is comfortable with, but he too, agrees that the history and nature of dragons should be taught to the magical youth before they die out completely. You and Lindel are awake at dawn to prepare for the visit, and you are constantly reassuring Lindel that everything will be fine. These preparations take a long while, and you only just finish at noon to greet the students. Only the oldest and more trusted students are allowed to visit the aerie in order to preserve the safety and Lindel’s peace of mind. Before you know it all of the students are standing before Lindel as he explains some of the history of the aerie. You give a little wave to Adolf, who stands at the back, supervising the visit. The majority of the students are well-behaved (although whether that is their usual attitude or of the result of Lindel’s intimidating tone is another matter) and they all listen to Lindel intently, some taking notes. Some students, though, seem to be the jokers of the class. Even most of these keep their antics to a minimum, except one, a boy who seems to hold this snobby, superior aura over the other students. This boy constantly interrupts Lindel, receiving a stern scolding eventually which only seems to fuel his attitude. Once he grows bored of being disruptive he soon turns his attention to you. His expressions and body language are far from appropriate so you choose to ignore the boy as Lindel moves on to introduce the class to the dragons. You go back towards the cave at this point to sort out the food that the college has brought to serve to the students. You are sorting the different packed lunches when you hear a crude whistle from behind you.You dont even have to turn around to realise who is making the obnoxious sound.“I’m sorry, can I assist you?” Your tone drips sarcasm as you turn to the boy who apparently managed to give the class the slip. “You sure can~” the boy’s pathetic attempts at flirting make you scoff and turn around again.“You’d do best to return to your class before somebody realises you’re missing.“ Before you know it the boy’s hands are on your waist and you immediately recoil. You raise a hand to slap the boy but before you can, he grabs your wrist and pulls you against him. "Don’t be so cold~” his lips are against yours in an instant. You summon your wand faster than you ever have before and force him off of you with magic.“Get back to your class.” You snarl at the boy who backs off and leaves, chuckling. You sink to the floor, partially on shock from what happened. “K-kids these days” you try to weakly laugh the event off as you go back to finish arranging the dinners and return to the class.——-The students are eating lunch as you are sat with Lindel and Adolf, helping to supervise as well as catch up with your old friend. You, however, cannot enjoy this as you cannot stop looking at the boy from earlier, disgusted at the looks he gives you when he notices your nervous stares. You’re having a nervous meltdown at what to say to Lindel. Do you tell him now? Do you tell him at all?! You are new to relationships and were never really exposed to any of it as a child either, so you are at a loss at what to do. Unknown to you, Lindel notices the exchanges looks between you and the boy, also noting the expressions on his face as he locks eyes with you. This makes Lindel nervous as he eyes the rather attractive looking boy. Lindel isn’t insecure in any way, but the thought of you falling for another invaded his mind before he could even comprehend the idea.Lindel’s trust for you overcomes this however, but he still feels the need to show that you are his and his only to this arrogant brat. You feel a warmth as familiar arms wrap around you, and blush at Adolf’s awkward cough as he turns his gaze back to his students.Lindel holds you rather protectively, and you cannot help but eye him confusedly, not understanding the sudden change in his demeanour. You turn back to the students to see the cocky boy from earlier striding up to you, a malicious smirk on his face.“Thanks for earlier miss, I hope we can do that again sometime~” the boy whispers to you, only just in earshot of Lindel, before skipping back to his crowd of friends. You raise your eyebrows in disbelief.Another nervous cough comes from Adolf, who quickly stands up and announces to the students that he would show them and explain about the creatures in the lake.Once the area is cleared of chattering people Lindel turns you to face him, a serious look on his face. You open your mouth to explain but he shushes you before you can say a word.“Do not worry, my love. I trust that you would never betray me like that.” Lindel smiles at you gently, before a light blush makes it’s its way into his face. “However… I cannot say I trust him. The way he looks at you displeases me.”Lindel fidgets a little before holding your gaze.Does he look… anxious?“If i may speak out of line… may I request that you stay away from him for the time being?” Your eyes widen as you realise why he is behaving like he is. “Lindel… are you jealous?”The blush on your lover’s face intensifies as he averts his gaze.“How can I not be? I am not used to having competition.” You cannot help but laugh at this as you gently hold his face and encourage him to look at you.“As if anyone could compete with you.” Your sweet words only fluster Lindel more and to hide that blush he gently leans into you. Wait…“Ah.” The waves of fear from earlier consume you again as you realise you must tell your lover of the incident from earlier.“Is something wrong, my dear?” The concern in Lindel’s voice only fuels your guilt as you begin to explain the previous situation, stuttering in fear because you are not sure if you are to blame for the scary situation.——-To say Lindel was angry is an understatement, although his anger wasn’t aimed at you of course. You had to call for Merituuli to help hold him back until he calmed enough to go and explain the situation to Adolf. The students were leaving now regardless, but Adolf assured you both that the student would be punished as he saw fit.Lindel has been giving you all of his attention since the students left, making sure that you are okay and comfortable with him touching you after such an event. You are just relieved that you are not in trouble after what happened (Lindel made sure to explain to you that you should never be ashamed to tell him about any times like this where you felt scared or uncomfortable, even if it’s due to something he does). You feel kind of special that you saw Lindel"s protective and jealous side but you are also exhausted by the whole day. Lindel and Merituuli cuddle up to you as you drift off, feeling safe with them both beside you.
