*Eighteenth month. Sixth day of the third week.  Ter'kan was operating consoles and holographic screens. Emma observed him for a brief moment before looking through the bay window of the pilot posts. The colors of the sky were changing gradually as the ship continued its descent. Skyscrapers soon came into the sight, far in the distance. The urban landscape became half hidden by the very high and vast aircraft hangar. The ship landed on one the many vacant hydraulic platform and the rumbles of the engines ceased. A loud bang resounded then the platform began to move. Another loud bang indicated that their ship was now docked inside the hangar. A roofless and very wide center lane, lit by the sunlight was going from one end of the hangar to other one. Spaceships of different sizes and shapes were docked in two covered areas situated on both sides of the lane. Crowds of both Yautjas and Arcadians were coming and going along the lane and between the ships, constantly. Hammerings, the flaming glow of a welding torch, sounds of electric machinery as well as the clanking of heavy steel plates mingled with voices. The hot air was cooled down by occasional drafts.Emma stood up: 'I'm so happy that we are here at last.' She asked after a glance at the bay window: 'What moment of the day is it?'Ter'kan responded while operating the console situated to his left: 'It's in the early afternoon.''It's for the best! Is this the only landing area?'The leader stood up too: 'No! There are seven, including this hangar. It's the biggest one.''Where the reunion with our comrades is going to take place?'He went on after a glance at the window: 'We going to meet them in this same hangar. That being said they must be already outside, waiting for us.'He took her hand and exited.Ter'kan and Emma headed to the room where their weaponry and their hunting gear were put on display. The latter began to prepare herself: 'I'd like to present the trophy of my first hunt at the appropriate moment when I will appear at the top of the lowered ramp.' The leader approved her with a nod as he started his own preparation. They left the weapons room some moment later, unmasked and lightly equipped. and went through the trophies room. Emma took down the three-horned rhino skull and said as she held it next to her chest: 'This is the kind of achievement that will always make me proud.'He explained after a glance at her other trophies: 'Interesting and diverse animals thrive on Arcadia-Syrinx. Soon you will be able to add more trophies to your ever-growing collection.'A smile of contentment appeared on her face: 'Sure that but I'm also looking forward to go on new hunts with you.''So do I, lovely.' He then put his right hand on her right shoulder: 'I think we better get moving!' He added just as they were coming out onto the room which gave access to the exit of the ship: 'I've been waiting for this moment for so long. Your most recent exploits have proved your continuous progress and worthiness. I'm really proud of you.''My perseverance and the things you have taught me did that.'Ter'kan approved with another nod then typed something on his wrist gauntlet. The doors began to slide open and the ramp to lower. Sounds that animated the hangar outside were becoming louder and more distinctive They showed themselves in the doorway as soon as the process was completed. That's when they saw Seki'sen and the rest of the clan, standing at the bottom of the lowered ramp. The leader briefly addressed them then put his right hand on Emma's shoulder, indicating that it was her turn to speak. She raised her trophy in both her hands and said in a loud tone: 'Thar'n-da s' yin'tekai!'*NOTE: thar'n-da s' yin'tekai means 'strength and honor' in Yautja language. Her presence caught the attention of those who were most closely. So they stopped what they were doing and watched the scene. Emma went down the ramp with Ter'kan walking by her side. They exchanged more words with their comrades. And the more Emma was telling about her hunts on Alpheus-Rey 421, the more Seki'sen was becoming astounded. Her new exploits had definitely made her really important into his eyes when she proposed to watch videos of hunts. Alrik'taden took the initiative of translating. Meanwhile his father remained silent and watched the interaction. All males except Ter'kan's son and the second in command evacuated the control room of the small ship when the viewing of the video which showed the hunt that took place two days prior to the leader's and Emma's departure from Alpheus-Rey 421 came to an end. This prolong of the meeting gave Seki'sen the opportunity to ask Emma questions on a more intimate level. As for Alrik'taden, he took the opportunity to unleash the wicked side of his personality. So he pressed her about the ways she spent her time when she didn't go on hunting parties. Emma stood up to him and teased him as much.Later that afternoon on board the small ship...Emma has just finished packing. She put her bags away near the door and went to lie on her back in the middle of the bed. She looked up at the ceiling for a few seconds then closed her eyes. She seemed so peaceful that anyone could have believed she has just fallen asleep but that wasn't the case. Various kinds of thoughts began to rush through her mind. Those amazing events she experienced on Alpheus-Rey 421 had already become cherished memories but also bitter ones due to the fact that she felt sad on the day she had to leave. She was lost in her thoughts when fast and heavy foot steps, coming from the corridor, caught her attention. She opened her eyes and got off the bed. The sliding doors opened and the leader appeared. She went to him: 'Good to see you again,my Ter'kan! You know I've been thinking about the new places that soon we are going to discover together.'He stroked her shoulder: 'Remember what I told you when we were residing on Earth! There will always be all sorts of possibilities to appreciate life together.''Yes! I remember. Your words will always stay imprinted on my mind.' She kissed the palm of his hand in order to show him affection in her own way. She then cuddled up to him: 'Today it's the beginning of another fantastic journey.''I'm ready for it.' He stroked her shoulder again: 'I think we should be going.'They parted.Ter'kan grabbed the bags and hung them on his left shoulder. They exited the small ship an returned to the big one, holding hands. The entire clan was already there and waiting. They set off after a brief exchanges of words, walking in groups along the roofless and very wide center lane lit by the sunlight.Alrik'taden addressed Emma just as they were about to reach the exit of the hangar: 'Tell me, my tiny huntress! I have the feeling that you are going to win hearts on Arcadia-Syrinx. What do you think?'She had a soft laugh: 'I don't think so. I will definitely focus on different matters.' She then asked Ter'kan now she could have a better view of the urban landscape: 'How big is the city?''The megalopolis is separated in two districts by a wide and long river. Several bridges are connecting the two districts. The district where we are strolling now is called North Arcadia. The one situated on the other river bank is named South Arcadia. The population is commuting from one district to another by several A fast and efficient railway system that serve different areas in both districts. South Arcadia is a popular destination for us Yautjas because that's where our colony Is located.''It's great to know that a part of your home world is flourishing somewhere in this city.' She then remained silent and enjoyed the bustling activities that were animating the surroundings.Ter'kan and his clan managed to reach the station after relatively short distance walk. First they had to pass through one of those several check points before boarding the half-empty shuttle bound for South-Arcadia. Emma took a seat between her love leader and his son. Another long moment went by. Solitary passengers or small groups of both species were boarding at close intervals. By now the sun has already began to slip behind skyscrapers that could be seen far at the horizon. The crowded shuttle finally left the platform and traveled at big speed. It stopped over at the first station in North Arcadia situated just after the crossing of one of the bridges. Passengers of both species got off. Groups who were already waiting on the long and covered platform boarded.Emma was scrutinizing two Arcadian passengers just as the shuttle departed. They were of different heights and dressed differently. The taller one was quite muscular with short and straight, platinum hair. The shorter one had a shapely figure with small, round breasts and long, blue hair. They both had oval-shaped faces with white-rosy and flawless skin. Their ears consisted of an external auditory canal with any auricle and lobule except for the tragus that varied in shape and size according to gender. Emma was also struck by their eyes that resembled gems. The female's eyes were almond shaped and sparkled like an very light blue aquamarine. Those of the male were also almond shaped and sparkled like a citrine with very light brown yellowish tones. However, only the color of their perfectly groomed eyebrows could tell the true colors of their natural hair. The female was blond whereas the male had black hair. It seemed that Arcadians were fond of hair coloring which gave Emma the opportunity to see both genders with flashy styles. Alrik'taden noticed her attentive interest. So he leaned forward and asked in a low tone. This made his voice to sound deeper than usual: 'What do you think about Arcadians?'Emma also spoke in a low tone as she continued to observe the Arcadian couple: 'They are really beautiful.' She made a brief pause before asking: 'Do all Arcadians have small and straight noses?''Yes! That's one of the well-known characteristic of the Arcadians.''Are full grown males always taller than the females?''Always! They are between 1.90 m and 2.0 m tall whereas females are between 1.65 m and 1.75 m tall.''In that case I won't feel like to be the smallest anymore. I must admit that I'm stricken by their facial features.'Alrik'taden emitted a trill: 'My tiny huntress could easily blend in as long as she hides her ears.'She teased him after a discreet giggle: 'Good insight, maestro!'Alrik'taden emitted another trill. They then remained silent. The long shuttle stopped again. Passengers got on and off. Emma asked Ter'kan: 'Are there any periods of time when public transportation stops working?''Yes but not all of them! There are lines that serve the different areas of the city at anytime.' The shuttle traveled another long distance until it stopped again. The high and wide doors slide opened. The leader hung the bags on his left shoulder and got off with Emma. Their comrades followed right behind. Crowds were coming and going in both directions. Some were heading towards the exit which gave access to the streets whereas some others were walking briskly in order to catch the shuttle that was still waiting all along the curved platform.Ter'kan and his clan came out onto a round road junction that was as crowded as the platform they have just left. That was the departure point of four streets that seemed interminably long. Buildings of mixed architecture and different heights were rising on both sides. They turned into one of these streets. Various shops were selling from clothing to home wares, electric devices and food. Customers of both species poured in and out, constantly. They were forced to slow down from time to time due to groups that were blocking the way in order to take a look at the shop windows. A first large passage situated at the corner of an high building allowed to turn into a smaller and quieter street came into sight. Six males of the clan exchanged words with the leader before moving away. The group went along the busy and commercial street whereas Ter'kan, Emma and those who remained with them turned to the corner and went down the smaller street. Buildings of same height and different architectural style were rising on both sides. That itinerary gave them the opportunity to have encounters with couples or groups of both species. They stopped again in front of a ten stories, modern construction made of white marble, steel with high and square-shaped windows. The leader said: 'My private residence is situated in this building at the top floor.'Emma didn't say anything and just raised her face in order to take in the whole height of the modern building. Meanwhile the remaining group of males exchanged words with the leader then walked away. They disappeared into another small street situated on the left side.Ter'kan and Emma crossed the high and square-shaped doorway made of blue glass which gave access to a wide and long hallway. The floor was paved with white and black-veined marble. The walls were beautifully decorated with rectangular and light grey tiles alternating with dark red ones on which a silvery Yautja letters were realistically painted. An arrangement of exotic plants on the right was adding an impressive touch of green. A very shallow basin of rectangular shape situated on the left was constantly filled with crystal clear water that was flowing from a round hole. They glanced at the plants arrangement once more then approached the two elevators. A gateway situated the left lead to a short and brightly lit corridor which gave access to the stairs case whereas the one situated on the right side gave access to another corridor that appeared to be much longer and darker. The leader touched an oval-shaped button that was embedded in the wall and situated between the two elevators. The orange and white doors of the left elevator slide opened. They stepped inside, holding hands and the doors closed back slowly.Seconds later the doors opened again onto a wide and light grey corridor. Square-shaped, blue and white doors were seen on both sides. The leader explained: 'Our residence is the last one on the left.'They had to pass by three doors before finally reaching theirs. He typed on a small screen with red, Yautja letters: 'Welcome to your home on Arcadia-Syrinx!' He then grabbed her hand and entered a very spacious room with an high ceiling, He typed on another small screen situated inside and the sliding door closed back. The interior was design in a modern style made of marble, steel and glass. A wooden panel carved with exquisite plant compositions decorated a portion of the wall situated between the windows. Ter'kan put the bags on a bench made of light wood and black marble that was situated opposite the entrance door. He said by pointing his whole hand to a doorway situated on the left side of the entrance: 'This is the bathing room.'They went inside. Emma stopped near the imposing bath tub that looked like the version of a very small swimming pool: 'This bathing room has a lot of similarities with the one we have in our home on Yautja Prime.' She went near a narrow and high window. Two sinks made of black marble and edged with stainless steel were on the right and left sides of that window. She asked while brushing her right hand against one of the sinks: 'Are you the one who decorated the bathing room?''Yes, I have decorated this entire place according to my wishes.''I think you have great skills.'He went next to her: 'I like to mix styles and different materials. The results are really attractive and relaxing to look at. Marble is a noble material. It brings elegance to any place.'Emma smiled: 'I must admit that I'm also fond of the idea of mixing different kind of materials.''You will see it a lot through out South Arcadia and this no matter the architectural styles.'She asked after another smile: 'Why there are many architectural styles in this part of the city?''That's due to the fact that residents of both species work and live together.'She glanced at the window then went out, followed by the leader. They continued the visit inside the vast room. Two large windows that occupied almost an entire wall, offered a good view of the mesmerizing, urban landscape. A low and rectangular shaped table made of black marble, four round, individual dark blue cushions and two furs were displayed in a corner on the left side of the room thus creating a relaxing area. Four beautifully crafted, bladed weapons were put on display on a portion of the wall nearby.Emma touched one of the furs: 'Look at this! It comes from the feline that I myself hunted on Alpheus-Rey for.'They remained silent and walked through the open kitchen and the dining area.By now the natural light had greatly begun to diminish thus making it more difficult to have a distinct sight of the objects. The leader pressed on two buttons that were situated on the wall near the window. The kitchen, the dining area including the corner meant for relaxation lit instantly.Emma went on after a look at the ceiling: 'Our outdoor life on Alpheus-Rey was great fun but now I must admit that I'm happy to be back to civilization again.'The leader touched another button situated near the kitchen: 'You will experience outdoor life again when we will go on hunts in the Arcadian jungle.'The couple moved towards the right part of the vast room which was still in the semi-darkness. Ter'kan had to press on more buttons that were situated near the window and the sleeping area was lit too. The furniture was consisting of a was very large bed of rectangular shape covered by a white sheet and flanked by two cubes made of black wood, and shiny stainless steel used as besides tables. Four storage cabinets, as high as the leader, made of some sort of black wood with doors decorated with sculpted, metallic panels that looked like those they had in their private room on board the big ship.Emma sat on the edge of bed. She said as she brushed her right hand on the softness of the white sheet: 'I'm happy to be here with you.'The leader sat next to her. She cuddled up to him by burying her face in his chest. He slowly caressed the nape of her neck.'They cuddled for a brief moment then began to prepare the vast room in order to feel at home completely.Late that night, Emma was the first to succumb to sleep, comfortably lying on her side. Ter'kan was on his back. He listened to her light breathing until he fell asleep himself. His long dreadlocks, adorned with silver metallic rings of different shapes were spread all around his big head and touching Emma's long and black, shiny hair. His exotic, musky scent was dominating Emma's lighter and floral one.A small and round, crystal storage tray displayed on the cube-shaped bedside table was filled with jeweled hair pins and hair slides. An small and glass goblet along with a metallic one with a pouring lip were left on the table of the dining area. The relaxing corner remained faintly lit by the moon light. The neon signs of some high-rising buildings indicated the importance and the kind of business that flourished in there.Meanwhile sounds of the various activities that usually animated that area of the city in the daytime had ceased. At this late hour of the night, only the distant and occasional rumble of a space ship disturbed the silence.

----- CHAPTER BREAK -----

The next morning.Emma has just woken up. She turned her head to the right and saw Ter'kan sitting in the embrasure of one of the windows. She got off the bed and went to sit next to him. She took in the immense horizon in the distance. The sun was hidden by giant strips of fluffy and white-grey clouds. She put her hand on his and spoke : 'South-Arcadia is very vast and must offer many opportunities in order to entertain oneself.''It is the way you described it. Today I will take you to some areas that I'm always in habit of visiting each time I reside on Arcadia-Syrinx.'Emma put the palm against her small and soft cheek. Ter'kan emitted a trill as he gently stroked her smooth skin. He then wrapped his arms around her thin waist. They cuddled for a short while then began to prepare themselves. They left their vast room after one last glance at the window situated near the bed. The hot rays of the sun greeted them just as they were coming out of the residential building. They strolled around until their walk ended up in front of a five stories building that served various kinds of food. Ter'kan typed something on his wrist gauntlet that looked different and smaller than the one he was always in habit of wearing while he was going on hunts. He then crossed a wide doorway and stepped in one of the two elevators with Emma walking by his side. The doors slide opened again on the top floor seconds later. They headed for the restaurant whose entrance was situated just a few meters away. The interior design was of Yautja style made of dark wood, glass and marble and overlooked the roofed garden of another building. Guests and staff were of both species. Multiple and animated the place. Yautja males very deep voices mingled with the Arcadian females much softer ones.Ter'kan and Emma were welcomed by a Yautja female. She had a brief conversation with the leader before leading him and Emma to a big and oval table with twelve chairs especially adapted for the tall Yautja guests and situated near the window. This brought an obvious inconvenience for Emma. The staff solved the problem by bringing a bar stool with backrest. As a matter of fact Arcadian females were seated on similar furniture which proved that they must have encountered the same kind of problem. They sat and observed the guests of the table nearby for a while before engaging into a conversation. Emma asked in a low tone just as an Arcadian female was bringing to their table several carafes and goblets made of shinny silver metal and white frosted glass, displayed on a tray made of dark wood: 'Are there many love relationships between Yautjas and Arcadians?'Ter'kan explained after another glance at the table nearby: 'There are! Some Arcadian females or males tend to have more than one Yautja partner.'Emma raised her eyebrows: 'So Arcadian males can be bold enough to get into relationships with Yautja females. Sure, they must have a rough times since their anatomy isn't as tough as the one of the Yautja males.' She concluded after a sigh: 'I always thought that Inter species romances are one of the best things that can occur in the galaxy.' She then poured herself a light orange drink.Ter'kan turned his head and looked at sky scrapers of different heights rising far in the distance. A minute passed until Emma spoke again: 'Here they come!'He looked towards the entrance and saw Seki'sen, Jun'oki, Lorik, Anun'den, Dal'serah Rak'nar along with three other males of the clan heading towards their table. Greetings followed. They then sat and continued addressing their leader.Emma remained silent and sipped her drink while observing the comings and goings of the staff. Alrik'taden soon appeared in her field of vision. The young male waved at her then came to the table. He addressed his father and comrades for a moment then took a seat at Emma's right side. From then on he mainly focused his interest on her. He spoke in a low tone after emitting a sensual trill. 'It's good to see you again my tiny huntress.'Emma retorted in spite of the expression of joy she had on her face: 'How are you smooth talker?'Alrik'taden purred again all satisfied with the effect his words had on her. So he leaned closer towards her: 'Listen! I have many plans in mind. And I'd like you to take part in some.'She made her remark without looking at him: 'Maybe! On the other hand you must know that I also have plans.' She didn't add anything else and turned her head to the left. She saw Seki'sen eyeing her intensively. She held her gaze for a few seconds before she broke it again. The same Arcadian female who had brought the colorful beverages came back to their table. She exchanged words in Yautja language with Ter'kan and his comrades while typing on a small electronic device that looked like a miniature personal computer. She went away after listening to Lorik's one more request. The leader explained : 'I have selected Yautjan and Arcadian dishes according to our preferences.'A lovely smile appeared on Emma's face: 'It's going to be so much fun. How about the sweets?''Sweets are plentiful and made with fruits native from Arcadia-Syrinx or my home planet. Fruits can be included in dishes as well.' He then began to exchanged words with his comrades again. Emma was left out so she took the opportunity to distract herself again by observing the incessant comings and goings of the staff. Three Arcadian males soon came at her table, holding big trays loaded with all sort of dishes. They arranged the plates in the middle of the large table before going away with their empty trays. There were Arcadian dishes along with colorful desserts made with fruits native to Yautja Prime.Seki'sen, Alrik'taden, including the other males grabbed some of those dishes and put them in front of them. Ter'kan took the food he had ordered for him and Emma. They began to enjoy the food while exchanging words, occasionally. Some time passed. Emma was eating small pieces of grilled meat that's when she had a slight startling because the second in command had his eyes fixed on her again. That was his favorite way of communication when he wanted to make her understand how much he needed to have his intimate time with her.Another long moment passed. They all were now eating desserts. Alrik'taden drew Emma's attention again. So he said as he watched her enjoying a fruits jelly mixed with small chunks of fresh fruits: 'You are eating with such a hearty appetite. It seems that you didn't have any troubles getting used to the Arcadian food. Next time you should try the seafood.'Emma told about her preference without looking at him: 'I love fish.' The young male leaned forward a little bit in order to be closer to her: 'There is much more to enjoy on Arcadia-Syrinx.'This time she turned towards him and retorted teasingly: 'I bet this has noting to do with food.'He slightly twitched his upper mandibles: 'My tiny huntress guessed well.'She didn't add anything else and continued enjoying her jelly without paying further attention to him. But soon she had to stop eating again because she felt a bit awkward by his way of behaving at that very moment. So she turned towards him again: 'Why are you looking at me like this?'He emitted a sensual trill: 'Because I'm hungry.''In that case you should eat all your food.'Another sensual trill rumbled through his broad and muscular chest: 'I know something that smells great. And it ain't food.'She pretended not to understand: 'What do you mean by that?'He leaned towards her even closer: 'I'm taking about you my tiny huntress.'Emma's joyous laugh instantly drew the other males attention. Ter'kan glanced at her and his son alternately. She, in turn, made eye contact with the leader, silent. Some time later...They had just finished eating. They began to exchange words again while enjoying colorful beverages. Two Arcadian males soon came to clear the table. Alrik'taden was the most active due to the fact that he exchanged words with two of his comrades, his father including Emma. He addressed her after responding Dal'serah's question : 'Tell me! We should go for a stroll just the two of us. I'd like to show you some of my favorite places and more.'She had a giggle before asking: 'What do you mean by more?'Alrik'taden came in closer proximity. He was so close that his body was touching hers: 'I'd like you to visit my private room.'She asked with a bit of mock in the tone of her voice, pretending not to understand thus augmenting the tease: 'I wonder what are those interesting things that one can possibly see in your private room? Why should I visit your place, anyways?'He gave her a clue about his wish as he kept eyeing her intensively: 'Your ways are unique. Your ways are unforgettable.'Emma didn't say anything to this. She turned her head and looked through the big window situated on the right. The restaurant was resonating with young Arcadian females laughter at that precise moment. An Arcadian female came to their table for the bill. Words were exchanged. They then left the restaurant and split into groups. Alrik'taden chose to keep his father and Emma company. They reached the most sought-after commercial area of South Arcadia after a relatively short walk. The busy was animated by the incessant comings and goings of Yautja and Arcadian crowds. Arcadian style was very elegant with modern and geometrical patterns that surprisingly made a very good combination with the Yautjan
ancient and tribal ones. They walked around in order to look at some displayed merchandise. Emma purchased two dresses and three pairs of sandals. Naturally Ter'kan's son took the opportunity to tease her with sensual and suggestive topics of conversations. He finally went away after purchasing two elegant loincloth made of some sort of thick, silky and dark brown material with a black leather belt.Ter'kan and Emma conferred with each other about ways of spending the rest of the afternoon as they stood in front of the shop they just left. The latter suggested that they should just sit somewhere and have a drink. So the leader took her to one of his favorite bars situated at the top of a new and high-rise building. They enjoyed all sorts of soft drinks or alcohol beverages along with appetizers. The couple returned to their vast room later in the evening. The last ray of the setting sun reflected on the metallic objects and windows one last time before the semi-darkness completely enveloped the place.

----- CHAPTER BREAK -----

Eighteenth month. Second day of the fourth week. At midday. The blinds of the window situated near the bed were pulled down thus creating a semi-darkness. Moans and growls accompanied by heavy breathing filled the room. Ter'kan and Emma were trying to catch their breaths as their sex session has just come to an end. The leader brushed the tusks of his lower mandibles against her neck then pulled out of her slowly and laid down with his right arm bent on his chest. Emma lied on her side and closed her eyes. They unwound for a moment before getting off the bed in order to prepare themselves. They finally left the room after eating a light meal.Ter'kan surprised Emma with a last-minute idea just as they were coming out of the elevator. They crossed a high and square-shaped doorway of a large greenhouse situated on their right. The air inside was hot and quite humid due to the fact that place grew exclusively vegetation that originated from Yautja Prime. They felt nostalgic a the sight of a tall plant that was producing big and yellow five-petal flowers because they happened to have the same in their own garden. They took one last tour then left and headed to the exit of the building, holding hands. The leader took Emma to old South Arcadia in order to make her discover more of his favorite places. The area fascinated her because held a lot of history. He had an obvious pride to teach her about the Yautja historical past. From then on her admiration for the old town became even greater thus allowing her to discovery new streets. Her exploration ended with the visit of a fabrics shop. Some time later...Emma showed a keen interest about South Arcadia historical past on her way to the part of part of the city where the Yautja colony was situated: 'When did Yautjas colonize South-Arcadia?'The emitted a clicking sound: 'I know a period of time in human history that is called the Middle Ages. That was when the first Yautja settlers arrived on Arcadia-Syrinx.''Why did Arcadians allow Yautjas to start their colony on South-Arcadia?''Yautjas have always visited Arcadia-Syrinx since time immemorial with the aim of hunting. One day the leader of a clan also had encounters with groups of Arcadians of all ages while on hunting parties. Among those groups there was also the supreme leader of all Arcadians accompanied by his family and some of his subordinates. The Arcadian supreme leader told the Yautja hunters about the reasons of their presence in the jungle. Arcadia- Syrinx had been invaded by a specie of sapient invertebrates called the Noktahozus. They were known for their hostile behavior and plan of invading other civilizations. They arrived onboard their strangely shaped organic looking ships and took over the city by surprise. They ruthlessly enslaved all the Arcadians who had been unable to hide or flee the city. And to make matter even worse the invaders were only males. They brutalized Arcadians females and even killed the Arcadian males who refused to submit themselves. The Yautja leader took the initiative of helping Arcadians. So he made contact with all hunters present in the jungle at that time and let them know about the situation. A meeting took place in order to discuss about the tactics of beginning the attack. Naturally Arcadian males who had managed to take weapons with them before they fled to the jungle wanted to go with the Yautja hunters. And so combining their forces they attacked during the night of the following day.' The leader paused for a few seconds before coming up with a question that brought a stronger suspense: 'And do you know what was the most efficient weapon in order to prevent the Noktahozus to take a complete control of the entire city?' He paused again before answering his own question: 'Yautja hunters used their cloaking device! That's right! Their invisibility allowed them to easily make a decisive and efficient attack inside the buildings Noktahozus had settled their main quarters and military base. They killed as many Noktahozus as they could then finally nuked the whole place with the help of their Arcadian allies.'Emma expressed her thoughts just as they were coming out onto a long street where commercial and residential buildings were rising on both sides and parallel to the one they had to walk along the day when they arrived on Arcadia-Syrinx: 'Your history course is fascinating. From now on I'm going to look at South-Arcadia with a fresh eye. That period of great trouble allowed Yautjas and Arcadians to combine their intellectual knowledge in order to build a world in which both species were able to live in harmony.'They walked leisurely around, holding hands. Most of the pedestrians were Arcadians. However shops were owned by Yautjas. For some reasons Arcadian and Yautja males stared at her intensively on several occasions.Ter'kan and Emma stumbled across Shun'ji just as they were coming out of a store that was selling all sort of beautifully crafted tableware made of metal. The males had a brief conversation before splitting and going to opposite directions. They had another encounter with Dal'serah and Seki'sen inside a two stories shop where one could purchase custom-made leather goods. More greetings followed. The couple and the two males parted after a brief conversation.Ter'kan and Emma continued exploring the stores along the crowded streets until they finally reached the bridge that allowed to go to North Arcadia river bank by foot. The area was also a popular spot due to restaurants and cozy lounges of different capacities that flourished there. The leader explained about the different structures of the bridge: 'There are four stops before one can reach the other end situated in North Arcadia. Each stop differs in the ways it is built. For instance the first two stops are built in a modern, industrial style. As a matter of fact many prefer those parts of the bridge to others. Especially the second stop because it's on two levels. There are stairs made of various metals which allow to go up from one level to another. He paused for a few seconds: 'Let's say...it looks like a promenade deck.'Emma had a soft laugh: 'A promenade deck! So you've already been on a ship.''Yes! I've embarked on one those ships that sails as far as the seaside by way of the estuary.'They engaged onto the bridge. They managed to reach the third stop of the bridge after a long walk. That was the most beautiful part of the bridge, situated half way. Cube-shaped, plants pots made of black marble that were as high as Emma that were artistically alternating with benches made of white marble skillfully stood around an hexagonal water fountain made of green marble veined with black. The fountain must have become a place of interest for those who visited the bridge for the first time due to the fact that the spurts of water were directly supplied from the river below. Emma found the whole concept ingenious and beautiful. They sat and enjoyed the soothing sound of the flowing water. However the fountain wasn't the only spot that made that part of the bridge so attractive. A tunnel built purposely on the way was housing a lounge bar. It was a mandatory passage for those who wished to continue their stroll in order to reach the river bank of North-Arcadia. Ter'kan and Emma enjoyed the sight of the fountain for another moment then entered the tunnel through which pedestrians were strolling constantly.A modern bar made of light wood and stainless steel was occupying an entire wall in front of which stools, made of the same materials, were aligned and equidistant one from another. A fish tank covered the entire surface of the wall on the opposite side thus creating the impression of looking at a shallow and sandy sea bed. Exotic and colorful fishes of different size, starfishes, tiny jellyfishes were swimming among seaweeds that looked like dark green ribbons and rocks on which small sea anemones and fluffy sea sponges lived. The sitting area was set between the bar and the fish tank. It was furnished with round tables and armchairs designed with adjustable parts so people of different heights could sit comfortably. The place was lit by the sunlight thanks to the large and oval windows situated to the ceiling during the day and lit by bowl-shaped wall lamps made of white frosted glass during the night. They sat close to the fish tank. An Arcadian male came to them and took their order. They then remained silent while observing the life that thrived inside the tank. The Arcadian male came back to their table shortly after in order to bring two tall glasses of different shapes, filed with layers of liquid that were imitating the sunset colors: The leader took the glass with the lip pouring, especially adapted for the Yautja anatomy. Emma grabbed the one that looked like a typical drinking glass from Earth. She took a few sips of her cocktail juice before sharing her thoughts about the fish tank: 'Marine life on Arcadia-Syrinx is an extraordinary discovery to me. Some species are very colorful and look pretty similar to those one can find on my home planet. Like for instance, the pink and purple jellyfishes or the sea anemone whose tentacles are constantly changing colors.' She took another sip from her juice: 'I'm looking forward to see more of the aquatic fauna on Arcadia-Syrinx.'The leader drank half of the glass before revealing more about himself: 'That's one of my favorite hobbies each time I go to the seaside because as you already know the aquatic life on my home planet is very limited.'She stared at him with tender interest: 'I'm happy that you told me about that.' She drank the last drop of her juice then put the glass on the table. A smile appeared on her face as she announced: 'I just got an idea!'The leader also put his glass on the table. He surprised her with a remark while slightly squinting his gold yellow eyes: 'Turns out that I was about to suggest the same to you. How about going to the seaside the day after tomorrow!'Emma had a content giggle thus drawing the attention of the customers who were sitting at the bar before concluding: 'I must admit that you knock me for six.'They set off after paying the bill. They walked continuously until they reached the river bank on North Arcadia while exchanging expectations about their next trip to the seashore.

----- CHAPTER BREAK -----

*Eighteenth month. Fourth day of the fourth week. At midday. The weather was hot and a bit humid with an overcast sky. The commander of the ship has just given the order to weigh anchor. The horn blared twice then the vessel slowly began to pull out of North-Arcadia harbor. Yautja and Arcadian passengers leaned on the railing of the first deck while some others stood nearby. Emma had Ter'kan to her left and Alrik'taden to her right. The harbor became gradually distant for her to have a distinct glimpse of the activities that were animating the place. The ship sailed down the wide and calm river. She was so deep in thought that she slightly startled just as she felt a hand on her shoulder. She looked up and met Ter'kan's gold yellow eyes. He asked: 'Would you like to sit inside?'She put her hand on his: 'No! I'd prefer to stay a little bit more outside.'The leader agreed with a nod. He then stepped behind her and took her in his embrace. Emma leaned the back of her head against his muscular chest, sighing with comfort. They continued watching the diversified and modern architecture all along the river banks. Gradually, the buildings were becoming less present which indicated that the ship was sailing off the city limits. Dense vegetation was seen in the background far in the distance.Ter'kan and Emma remained outside until vegetation took over the landscape. They headed to the immense lounge of the upper deck after a glance towards the sky. They sat and had a conversation about their destination. She asked: 'When are we going to arrive?''We will reach Luar'ke-Halkrath late in the afternoon.''What does the name of the city mean?''It means moon and shadow in Yautja language.''Is there any particular reasons why the city has been named like this?'The leader glanced at the window before explaining: 'First It's due to the fact that it's the only place on Arcadia-Syrinx which gives the opportunity to have spectacular views of the full moon from different parts of the city.' He added after a brief pause: 'Nawndia-Atteryd is the city's former name which means moon and shadow in Arcadian. It then became Luar'ke'Halkrath over the years.'They became silent again and observed the comings and goings of the other passengers. Alrik'taden came to see them twice in order to confer about different matters.Later...They left the lounge and went to the first deck in order to watch the landscape slipping as the ship continued sailing at a regular speed on the very broad and serpentine meander. Palm trees and other species of trees with abundant foliage whose trunks were surrounded by small clumps of grass grew along the river banks. Prairies carpeted with dark green grass and crop fields were also seen far behind. A very big modern house surrounded by two or three smaller ones that looked like factories stood here and there. Small hillocks added relief to the flat landscape that was stretching as far as the eye could see. A cargo ship docked on the right side of the river bank soon came in sight. Groups of Arcadian males were loading bags and boxes that must have contained cereal, fruits as well as vegetables which was an undeniable proof that agriculture was a thriving business in that region.Another long moment went by. Vegetation remained the same except the soil was becoming from a grassy land to a more sandy one. Soon the ship began to lose speed. It finally stopped when small sandy islands that spread in the middle of the meander came into sight. That new change of the landscape indicated the beginning of the delta where the main river channel splits into two smaller channels and meets the sea waters. The horn blared again which added an eerie atmosphere to the hot and lonely place. The ship continued sailing on the broadest channel. Meanwhile the sandy banks were becoming wetter and so was the vegetation. Aerial roots of many flowery plants were half buried in the wet and sandy ground. The strong smell of mud and the heady scent of vegetation weighed down the hot and stagnant air. Nature talked for itself as high pitched animal cries and buzzing insects accompanied the passengers. A smaller ship appeared far in the distance, sailing on the other channel from opposite direction just as a breeze began to bring the sea air. The ship sailed off the peninsula until the coastline was on sight and finally reached the harbor of Luar'ke-Halkrath. Hills partially covered with dense vegetation and high rock formation were seen far beyond the city limits. The horn blared again and the ship berthed. Passengers began to disembark. Emma addressed Ter'kan: 'Where is Alrik'taden? I think we lost him.'The leader looked back: 'He mustn't be too far.'She added while going down the gangway: 'This place is fantastically beautiful. I think I have already seen it in my dreams. I can't remember when. My memory remained too vague.' She paused for a few seconds then asked once they set foot on the quay: 'Where are we going to reside?'The leader hung his bag on the left shoulder: 'We are going to stay in a place that is situated close to the beach and surrounded by many attractive amenities.'They set off. This short distance walk gave Emma the opportunity to have a first glimpse of Luar'ke Halkrath. They exchanged words until they arrived in front of a twenty stories building with terraces made of glass and light wood. She raised her face in order to take in the whole height of the building then added: 'Luar'ke-Halkrath looks very similar to South Arcadia but much smaller that's why I'm going to call it Little South Arcadia.' She had a giggle, amused by her own statement. The couple crossed the high and black marble doorway of the twenty stories building and entered a vast lobby. The interior was a mix of architectural styles and decorated with diverse materials in many places. Emma was impressed especially by the front desk. It was a long and colossal, rectangular block made of green marble flanked by two cast-iron columns embossed with typical Yautja and tribal decorations. Ter'kan exchanged words with one of the Yautja males who was standing and half hidden by the marble block before asking Emma: 'There are many rooms available. Do you have any special request?'Emma looked up at him and simply said with a smile: 'The higher, the better.'He agreed with a nod then exchanged more words with the front desk clerk. The latter typed on a console then handed an electronic card over to the leader. The couple moved away and took the elevator. He touched one of the white buttons embedded in a shiny metallic panel: 'Our room is on the top floor and has a spacious terrace facing the city.'No sooner had he pronounced his sentence that the doors of the elevator slide opened onto a long hallway that was having natural light thanks to several windows aligned on the left side. Square-shaped, sliding doors were aligned on the right one. They moved away and went to the very end of the hallway. The leader inserted an electronic card into a slit and the door slide opened. They entered a spacious room and put their bags down. Emma concluded after a glance at the doorway that gave access to the bathing room: 'This is going to be our secret paradise for the coming days.'They then went outside on the terrace, holding hands. She tightened her grip on his hand as she admired the beautiful and serene seascape that was stretching as far as eyes could see beyond the city limits. At the outset of the following day Ter'kan and Emma left their room and set off for the beach, situated only two blocks away from their residential building. A short while later they came out onto a moderately crowded, paved with white and black diamond tiling marble roundabout that was marking the beginning of the very long and broad, fine sand beach. An exquisite work of art stood in the middle. It represented an exotic fish entirely made of turquoise blue glass, securely displayed on a high and well polished, white marble veined with gold pedestal of rectangular shape.Emma praised the talent of the artiste: 'The artist of this piece of art, must be really talented.'The leader made his remark just as they were going down the six steps that was paved in the same way as the roundabout and gave access to the beach: 'There is a museum where one can see many sculptures made entirely of glass in different shades.'They stopped and took in the horizon. Emma asked by pointing the index of her right hand at a long jetty as she shielded her eyes from the sun with the left one: 'What are those constructions aligned on the either side of the jetty?''Those constructions are shops where you can purchase all sort of items made of products that come exclusively from the sea. The smaller constructions painted in blue are for renting beach equipment.'She added after a brief silence: 'I'm going to rent something.'The leader added just as they engaged in the lane aligned with shops on both sides: 'You can put up the beach equipment wherever you want.'They entered one of the shops. They came out again a little time after, accompanied by two Yautja males. One was carrying two folded deckchairs while the other had a sturdy, net bag in which the dissembled pieces of a canopy with the thick linen cover were carefully arranged. Emma let Ter'kan know about her preference: 'I'd wish to stay close to the rocks.'He exchanged words with the two males just as they arrived near one of these pinkish rocks, scattered here and there on the beach. The males began to put up the canopy. Emma watched them working for a moment before she felt the need to direct her eyes towards the left. She saw Alrik'taden from the back, standing in the distance, engaged into a conversation with two Yautja females. They were taller than him and dressed only in very revealing bikinis made of brown leather and tiny metal plates. She observed the scene for another brief moment then dragged her eyes away from them and continued concentrating on what the two males were doing. Another moment went by. One of them unfolded the deckchairs and put them under the dark blue striped canvas of the canopy. The males moved away, holding the net bags. The leader addressed her again: 'Would you like something to drink?''Yes, please, my Ter'kan!'He walked away. Emma looked towards the sea for a brief moment then took out hair accessories, a small bottle made of blue glass and a thermos flask from a shoulder-bag that she had purchased in South-Arcadia. She was about to sit. Alrik'taden' s deep voice made her startle: 'How is my tiny huntress today?'She turned around and saw him standing with his legs slightly apart. He was wearing only a black loin cloth and a necklace made of small bones and seashells. She said a bit sharply: 'Here you are! I didn't hear you coming.'The young male slightly tapped his upper mandibles while eyeing her with interest.Emma continued after scrutinizing his facial features for a few seconds: 'I think, in any case, you seemed to have so much fun a short while ago.' She sat on one of the deckchairs: 'I saw you.'He asked with a tilt of his head: 'Where did you see me?'She pointed her index finger: 'I saw you when you were standing near that rock, over there.''Yes, of course!' He emitted a sensual trill: 'I always meet those two females by chance each time I come to the beach of Luar'ke Halkrath.'She made her remark a bit jokingly: 'I don't think so. They certainly must chase you.'Meanwhile Ter'kan was coming back, holding under his left arm that same bag he had traveled with, filled with bottles of water and different kinds of fruits juice. He put the on the sand near the deckchair on which Emma was sitting. Father and son greeted each other by placing their right hands on each other's shoulders and shaking. She watched them with a smile. The leader announced: 'Alrik'taden is going to stay with us for the rest of the day.''I want this too.' She said as she emptied two bottles of fruits juice into the thermos flask in order to keep the beverages cool: 'I would love to go for a swim.'Alrik'taden suggested: 'How about going fishing instead?''No!' She took off her mini-dress and exposed herself in her bikini: 'Today I'd like to take a dip into that magnificent water.'The young male rolled one of the seashells of his necklace between his clawed index finger and thumb, saying: 'If this is what you really want...'Ter'kan sat on the sand near the canopy and watched them getting near the water. Emma enjoyed the sensation of the waves crashing against her ankles as she kept exchanging words with Alrik'taden. Her amusement augmented once she decided to venture herself into the warm water. Wherever she was swimming or walking on the sandy bottom, submerged to the waist, the young male took pleasure and unleashed the teasing and seductive part of his personality. Emma liked when he was diving abruptly into the water before surfacing again behind her seconds later and lifted her out of the water. And to add more fun she was pretending of being in need of help by struggling playfully. Her laughter was intermingling with sounds of other voices and the crashing waves. The morning passed so. By midday the temperature began to rise quickly.Alrik'taden and Emma finally got out after one last swim. Emma addressed the leader cheerfully and dripping with water as she grabbed her thermos flask: 'How are you, my handsome leader? You should go for a swim. The water is swell.'He said with a wave of his right hand: 'Yes I can imagine that but...really today...I don't feel like going for a swim.'She didn't say anything to this and began to sip from her thermos flask while looking towards a distant rocks formation that looked like an island. She stopped drinking and asked Alrik'taden by pointing her index at the sea: 'How about swimming as far as that rock formation over there?'He sipped his water one more time: 'Sure! Let's do that! It's ideally located.'Emma sipped her juice a few more times then put her hair in a bun. She went back into the sea, accompanied by the young male. They walked on the sandy bottom, cutting through the water slowly until they were both out of their depths which happened at different times due to the difference of their heights.Alrik'taden and Emma began to swim side by side without saying anything. The young male increased his speed once they were already half way. And for this Emma had to swim faster in order to stay close to him. She managed to swim as fast as him for a while but soon she had more troubles to keep the pace. She complained a bit out of breath: 'That's too fast for me!'The young male slowed down thus allowing her to catch up with him. He asked: 'Are you tired?''Yes a little bit!''In that case you should cling to my shoulder. You will be dragged as I will keep swimming.'Emma refused as she kept swimming: 'No need for that! I can manage if we continue in a slower pace.'They finally reached the rocks formation a while later. Emma put her arms around Alrik'taden's neck and her legs around his waist. The young male got out of the water with her clinging to him. She sat on a rock : 'I want this place to be ours as long as we are going to remain here.'Alrik'taden shook his head in order to remove the water droplets from his jet black dreadlocks adorned with simple silver rings. He then went to sit on the rock next to her: 'That's the idea! Now let's have some rest!'They laid down and shut their eyes. They unwound for a moment while enjoying the sound and smell of the sea. A long moment passed. That's when voices echoed not very far from them. So they opened their eyes and raised themselves into a sitting position. Emma spoke in a low tone: 'It seems that we are not alone.'The distant voices echoed again.Emma made a remark still in a low tone: 'They must lie on a rock that is lower than all the rest that's why we are unable to see them.' She added after a brief pause: 'We should go and have a look.'The young male approved with just a nod. They approached the part of the rocks formation from where the voices were coming from and checked. They saw an Yautja male lying on his back while an Arcadian female was resting face down on him.The couple didn't seem to care about her presence nor the young male's.Alrik'taden said as he moved away with Emma walking by his side: 'Talk about a discovery!'Emma went to sit back on the same rock where she was lying not a long ago: 'I don't know for how long they have been there but I'm sure they did more than taking a rest.'His arousal was becoming more evident so he said on purpose in order to tease her imagination: 'Like...making love!'She concealed her shyness with a soft laugh. She then looked up and met Alrik'taden's gaze. His light green eyes, burning with desire, sank deeper under his prominent and spiky brows. His mandibles twitched with anticipation. So she lowered her gaze after a sigh. The young male put his hand on her right shoulder: 'When am I going to have you only for me again?'She met his eyes again and uttered with an hesitating tone: 'Whenever an...opportunity will...come to us.' She then dived into the dark blue sea. Alrik'taden emitted a trill and, in turn, dived into the water. They swam back to land without exchanging any words. When they finally reached the shore, they had a short conversation then parted. For some reasons the young male decided to change his schedule for the rest of the day.Emma returned to Ter'kan. The couple sat under the shade of the canopy til late in the afternoon and had a long conversation about various matters while glancing at the comings and goings near the shore. They left at sunset once the two Yautja males from the rental shop had finished packing up the canopy with the deckchairs. First they returned to their residential building and got all dressed up. They spent a part of the evening strolling across the trendiest area of the city before enjoying Arcadian delicacies in a restaurant situated on the top of a building with a stunning view of the sea.

----- CHAPTER BREAK -----

*Eighteenth month. Seventh day of the fourth week. Ter'kan and Emma spent time on the beach until late in the afternoon. They set out for the remote area after giving back the beach gear. They headed to the most remote area. Some time later...The hubbub ceased completely. They were lulled only by the soothing sounds of the nature. Seabirds shrieks intermingled with the sound of waves breaking on the shore continuously. Their walk ended up to a colossal and yellowish-grey, rectangular-shaped cliff with crevices wide enough for the birds to nest. Dark green lumps of grass were growing here and there on the small, sand dunes. A gentle wind was blowing occasionally thus bending the vegetation. They put down their bags next to a square-shaped rock. The leader stepped behind her and took her in his embrace. She leaned her head on his muscular chest and murmured: 'It feels good to be here all alone with you. I always need your presence.'The leader just pressed his body against hers gently while admiring the seascape. She suggested just as she began to caress his biceps: 'We should go for another swim.'He nodded as a response. They then striped naked and went into the water. First they walked on the sandy bottom before swimming away from the shore. The blazing and bright orange sun was slipping slowly at the horizon. They swam a length before going back on the beach. They sat on the square-shaped rock in order to dry themselves in the last, faint rays of sunlight. The twilight stretched over the landscape and the colossal cliff looked like a giant, crouching down and silhouetted against the setting sun. Clumps of grass that were growing on the sand dunes looked like bristling hairs on the backs of inert beasts.Ter'kan and Emma unwound silent and still until the red-orange sun finally disappearing into sea. The sky became dark, peppered with countless shining stars. The big and silvery full moon was reflecting on surface of the very dark blue and undulating sea.She rubbed her cheek against the pebbly and warm skin of the leader's right arm then said: 'This place is ideal in order to take one's mind off things. Unpleasant matters are forgotten. Good and upcoming events give me new hopes. Our stay on Alpheus-Rey won't be forgotten. Eating outside, late night conversations, cuddling under the starry night sky became wonderful memories.'He took her hand: 'Soon we will explore the mysterious jungle of Arcadian Syrinx.' He put his arm around her thin waist: 'It will give us another opportunity to enjoy outdoor life together.' She added as she kept looking at the bright and silvery reflection of the moon on the surface of the sea: 'I think that we should prolong our stay on Arcadia-Syrinx.'The leader slowly brushed his hand on the curve of her smooth waist: 'I agree.'They fell silent again. They looked towards the sea, luuled by the soothing sound of the waves breaking on the shore.Emma turned her head to the left and looked again at the dark and colossal mass of the cliff. Something appeared in her field of view. First it looked like a very small and black elongated silhouette due to the distance. She drew Ter'kan's attention by pointing her index at that direction: 'It seems that someone is coming this way.'The silhouette became more recognizable so the leader made his remark: 'It's an old Yautja male. Another admirer of the natural wonder.'Meanwhile the old male was coming nearer and nearer. He passed closed to the couple without caring about their presence and kept on going. They watched him until they lost sight of him again. That encounter triggered another conversation.Emma asked: 'How old do you think he is?'The leader responded as he fixed his eyes on the silvery moon: 'He's slightly hunchbacked. He must be almost thousand years old.''He must have gone through a lot.' She continued after a sigh: 'Thousand years is s only the average old age for those of your species. And think that the average old age of a human is only eighty-five.'Ter'kan looked at her: 'I know. However I have knowledge of humans who had been able to live for up to 140 years old.'She sighed again as the expression of her face slightly clouded over: 'That's true! And yet living for up to 140 years old is still considered so little when compared to the thousand years of an Yautja.'The leader looked away, saying with an hesitating tone: 'It's...a fact that...no one or nothing will ever be able to change.'The expression of her face became even sadder: 'I may live for up to 140 years but still that will never be enough for me to see you becoming thousand.' She added with a strangled voice, ready to burst into tears: 'I will die and will never be able to see you and touch you ever again. All those beautiful things I love doing with you will have to cease for ever. It's so awful to think about.'She let out a deep sigh, unable to hold her tears any longer. She got up and took a few steps. Ter'kan went next to her and knelt behind her. He then wrapped her body with his in a passionate embrace: 'Don't cry my love!' He rubbed his lower mandibles on the back of her head: 'Believe it or not but I already began to think about the age matter from the very first moment I set my eyes on you in the Amazon jungle.'Emma slowly turned around and cupped his lower mandibles with her hands. She asked, all teary eyes: 'What do you mean?''Can you remember the conversation we had the following morning when you woke up on board my ship?''Yes! The memory of that moment will always remain so vivid. I remember everything especially when we...'She had troubles to continue due to the crying fit that was becoming more intense. However she made efforts and spoke between sighs as she kept looking into the leader's eyes: 'I remember especially when we had talked about our ages. I told you that by the time I will become ninety I will have only a few years left to live whereas you will still have many hundreds of years ahead to live your life. I also remember...'She had to make another pause. She let her tears flow for another short moment before completing: 'I also remember when you said that it's unsettling to think about this matter. I asked you why is it unsettling but you remained silent. I have never understood why and never asked myself what made you say that. But today the circumstances finally helped me to realize it.'Emma put her arms around his neck and kept crying because she needed that.Ter'kan consoled her again as he kept caressing her back: 'Don't cry my love! I know it's dreadful to think about that. However that moment is still so far away. Hundred years is a very long time for both of us. Your longest life expectation may be of hundred thirty years and that's only if you live on Earth. But this won't be the case. You can expect to live more than that since you are going to live on my home planet.'She looked at him again. Her crying fit was subsiding, gradually. He reassured her: 'My species has a scientific knowledge far more advanced than anything known to humans that's why I firmly believe there will be possibilities for great improvements.'Emma said in a low voice after sighs: 'You are so right. Your world and life style will make the difference.'He scooped her up and carried her back to the rock. He then took a big towel out of the bag and spread it next to the rock: 'We'd better take some more rest before we return to our room.'They lay down next to each other. He began to emit low, soothing trills.Emma took his right hand in hers and cuddled up to him. She murmured with her eyes shut: 'I need you.' She let herself lulled by his purrs until she succumbed to a deep sleep. Ter'kan contemplated her for a brief moment then released her hand cautiously. She raised himself into a sitting position and looked at the reflections of the full moon on the surface of the water. A bird glided close to the undulating surface of the sea then disappeared into the distance. He went to lie down next to her and unwound with his eyes shut.Later after the crack of dawn...A flock of seabirds flew towards the cliff. Emma opened her eyes and looked up at the sky a bit confused before turning her head to the left. She saw Ter'kan sitting on the rock. He asked: 'How are you love?'Emma raised herself into a siting position and stretched: 'I have never slept on a beach before. I must admit that it perks up.''Would you like to stay here more?'She leaned her back against the rock: 'Yes! I like the melancholic loneliness of this beautiful place.' She spoke again after a long moment: 'All things considered, we should travel back to North Arcadia.'They dressed and headed back to their room. They packed things and left in a hurry because they wanted to embark on the ship that was sailing back to North Arcadia at midday. Passengers were already leaning on the railing when they finally reached the quay. Ter'kan typed on his small wrist device: 'I'm going to inform my son about our departure. He will embark on the ship that sails in the afternoon.'The couple went up the gangway immediately after. The horned blared twice and the ship slowly sailed away from the quay.

----- CHAPTER BREAK -----

Nineteenth month. Third day of the first week. Ter'kan and Emma left their room shortly after the rising sun. The leader was wearing a white and black loin cloth attached to a belt made of black and dark blue leather with a silver buckle while his mate was wearing her mini and dark green, silk dress that she had bought prior to her travel to Luar'ke-Halkrath. Each one had a bag hanging on their left shoulder. They looked up at the sky as they exited their residential building. The rays of the sun were already heating the air quite a lot despite the early hour. The streets were moderately crowded which allowed them to get to the station much faster than they would be able to during rush hours. When they arrived at the station and crossed the gate, the shuttle bound for North Arcadia was already waiting along the long and curved platform. They got on it and took a seat. Passengers were constantly boarding. A group of four Yautja males managed to get on just a moment before it finally left the platform. That day they traveled back to the docking area in order to prepare for their next hunts. Great satisfaction washed over them as they walked again along the wide center lane lit by the sunlight.Emma boarded the smaller ship with the intent of transferring her hunting gear to the bigger one. She headed to the weapons room and arranged all her equipment in pile on the round and metallic table. She then grabbed all at once easily and returned to the exit. She went down the ramp while looking over the pile in order to avoid tripping over and joined Ter'kan who was waiting nearby. The latter typed on his wrist device. The sliding doors and the ramp closed back within secondsFour males including Jun'oki were standing near the big ship. A brief exchanged of words followed before Emma and the leader went up the lowered ramp. They then engaged into the corridor that led to the entrance of the control room. She looked up at the leader: 'It's good to see them again.'He put his hand on her right shoulder. Meanwhile voices were becoming more distinctive. They found Seki'sen, Anun'den, Saren, Shun'ji including Alrik'taden in the control room. Two of them were typing on consoles. Emma put the pile of her hunting gear with the bag on a console nearby then sat at the pilot post just as Ter'kan engaged into a conversation with his comrades. She remained still and listened what the males were saying. The meeting took a long time so she became aware of the fact that they were debating something important. She was a bit lost in her thought that's when the leader addressed her again: 'Emma! Now it's the perfect time for you to get knowledge of the fauna on Arcadia-Syrinx.'She had a content and soft laugh: 'Precisely, my Ter'kan! I was wondering when you are going to talk about that subject.' She stood and went next to him: 'Have you chose the animal as my first prey yet?''Yes! This time I'm going to use a different approach.'Ter'kan and Emma went up to a round and small console situated on the left side of the bridge. Meanwhile Seki'sen and the other three males sat at the pilot post while Alrik'taden just leaned against a metallic panel embossed with Yautja letters and intricate, geometrical patterns. The leader typed on the console. A bright yellow and oval-shaped, holographic screen formed above and a video began to show an animal. So he said: 'I'm beginning with the least dangerous and tough to hunt then finish with the most difficult one. This video will be followed by nine others. 'She said after a smile: 'I really appreciate the freedom of choice.'They watched the first video with profound interest. Ter'kan showed Emma a second video then a third one. She viewed the videos one after another while asking questions with astonishment or worry in the tone of her voice. The leader provided her with detailed responses in order to prepare her mentally and help her to make accurate choices. When the last video had finally come to an end Emma breathed a deep sigh as she looked at the luminous and blank holographic screen. She made statements in a calm tone in spite of the obvious uneasiness that one could see on her face: 'First of all I'm really thankful you showed me all these videos. My exploits on Alpheus-Rey brought a great level of satisfaction, considering that was the first time for me to go on hunts. I thought I've passed the level of beginner but now new thoughts are taking over. It seems to me that I will have to call myself a beginner again.'Ter'kan typed on the holographic screen in order to switch it off then made his remark: 'According to the number of trophies you have already collected you shouldn't consider yourself as a beginner anymore.''I considered myself such as long as I stayed on Alpheus-Rey.''Why do you feel this way? 'She lowered her gaze: 'Because I will hunt those animals for the first time that's why it gives me the impression of being a beginner again.'He lectured her while scrutinizing her facial expression: 'You shouldn't consider yourself a beginner each time you hunt a new animal.'She looked at him again: 'It's difficult to consider the situation with a different point of view.'He put his hand on her shoulder: 'I still have vivid memories of your hunts on Alpheus-Rey. You made the most of your skills and used your fighting prowess accurately in order to defeat and kill your preys. But that was not all. You knew something important about each one thus allowing you to use it to your advantage.''Yes, of course! The main weakness of my first prey was its poor vision. It definitely gave me enough courage in order to hunt it in spite its impressive size and threatening appearance.''Exactly! And the animals you chose to hunt on this planet are no exception. I believe that once you will know about their weaknesses you won't consider yourself a beginner anymore.' He typed on the round console once more: 'Now, let's discuss about the animals you have chosen! How many of them?''I have chosen three! That herbivore from the first video, the feline from the fourth video and finally another feline from video number seven which makes it the third most dangerous animal on the list. Besides I've also made my choices according to their diverse and beautiful appearances.'The leader eyed her with greater interest: 'Those are really judicious choices. It will put your skills to test on different levels and more. Certainly, you will be able to collect more than skulls and furs.'She smiled again: 'You always find the appropriate ways of introducing our soon to-be adventures just enough to pick up my curiosity.'He emitted a trill: 'That's because I want to tease your imagination until I'll give you further explanations.'Emma commented while pointing her whole hand at the round console: 'I've seen the least dangerous animals. However what is the most dangerous one that we can hunt on Arcadia-Syrinx?'Alrik'taden joined the conversation: 'It's a beast that lives in the swamps! That region is situated at the limits of the jungle. It can be reached after days of march. The more you will get near to that part of the jungle and the diverse fauna and flora will become increasingly strange and dangerous. To conclude, I'll add that beyond the swamps there is a desert region with a range of small mountains.'She said after a shudder: 'I have always imagined the swamps a mysterious and frightening place to be, where deadly and hideous animals lurk.''You know there are animals that are considered hideous not only to the way they look but also to the ways they live. For instance the feeding habits of the most dangerous animal to hunt are really unsettling. First the beast sucks a big quantity of blood from the injured prey before it starts to eat it alive.'Emma breathed a sigh as uneasiness appeared on her face: 'That creature must be as ugly to look at as its ways of feeding.''It is! It is as if parts of different animals are put together.'Ter'kan intervened while typing on the console: 'I will show you a video in which you can see my last hunt of the beast that dates back to many years.'She looked at him: 'I'd like to see what lurks in the swamps while being on the safe side and without fearing anything.'They discussed about the Arcadian fauna all morning and a part of the afternoon. Shun'ji, Anun'den and Saren took their leave of the leader. Alrik'taden addressed his father a few more words before exiting, in turn, the place. Seki'sen chose to remain and took the opportunity to ask the leader for another piece of advice. Emma glanced at them. That's when she saw the intense gaze of the second in commands's orange eyes. She stared back at him for a brief moment then went to sit back at the pilot posts.Seki'sen exited the place at a brisk pace.Ter'kan got near Emma again and informed her about his decision: 'We should spend the night at the docking area and make the most of our time in order to complete the preparations for the coming hunts.'She stood up and hung her bag on the left shoulder. She then grabbed the pile of her hunting gear and let him know about her intention as she walked towards the exit: 'I would like to check my equipment.'The leader followed her.Ter'kan and Emma spent the rest of the afternoon cleaning and checking of their equipment while exchanging thoughts occasionally.Later the leader met up with his comrades again in order to discuss about duty matters.

----- CHAPTER BREAK -----

Nineteenth month. Fourth day of the first week, early in the morning.Emma has just entered the control room. She saw Ter'kan on the bridge, typing on a console of medium size so she went to him: 'I knew, I'd find you in here.'He turned around: 'Good to see you again, love.' He added as he continued typing: 'You look so beautiful dressed like this!.'I just had to add on my bikini one of my silky scarves. First I wrapped it around my hips before tying the ends in a fancy knot.''Exquisite idea! The colors enhance your beauty even more.'She caressed his left arm. He reacted to her sensual approach by caressing the nape of her neck. He then cupped her face between his big and clawed hands and added: 'You mean a lot to me.'She kissed the palm of his hand: 'New adventures will mark our relationship with unforgettable memories.'He provided her with a slow stroke of his thumb against her smooth cheek. They then went near to the round and small console situated on the left side of the bridge. Ter'kan touched two triangular shaped, red buttons simultaneously with two fingers and activated the console. Yellow and orange buttons, including red Yautja letters were instantly lit as a beep resounded. He said, pressing a small and oval-shaped, orange button at the same time: 'We are going to discuss about the upcoming hunts. First we focus on the herbivore which is the easiest among the animals you chose to hunt.'A rectangular-shaped holographic screen formed above the console. He touched a bright yellow sign situated on the right side of the screen and a video began to show. He added as he took one step back: 'I have made this recording during routine rounds years ago.'Emma glanced at him then spoke as she continued watching the screen: 'This herbivore has the look of a big antelope that's why I've made it as my first choice. Besides I found its sliver grey coat and those wavy, black horns stunning. I think it demands exploration.''Absolutely! Skulls aren't the only trophies that one could collect when hunting this animal. For instance, you can make decorative and durable dagger handles out of those horns.'A close-up of the herbivore was showing. So Ter'kan freeze-framed it and went on: 'Now I would like to discuss about the things that makes it difficult to hunt. This animal can run really fast. Its vision is excellent and has a very acute sense of hearing as well. It can spot you from a great distance even though you don't stand in front of it. It can also sense the slightest vibration of the ground. So there is no use of trying to approach it from behind. Last but not least the hooves of its front legs have edges sharp enough to cut through flesh.'Emma frowned at him: 'I expected you'd mention about its good sight and...excellent hearing but...I must admit that your last statement is so...unusual.' Meanwhile the leader has just touched that same bright yellow sign. She continued as the video started to show again: 'And to think this animal is the easiest to hunt on my list. I won't deny the fact that thoughts of those felines already put me in a state of worry even though you haven't told me anything yet.'Ter'kan put his hand on her shoulder: 'Don't feel bothered this way! I will provide you with enough information so you can put your mind at ease and help you to build the plan of your attack. And remember! All living things have their own weaknesses.''Yes! I will always remember.'The leader began to give her hints about what would make an efficient attack against that herbivore just as the video came to an end: 'You must wait in a concealed position in order to launch a surprise attack from a certain place! It will require your patience and your ability to stay undetected by the animal as much as possible. This method has proven to be successful many times. However you can still begin your attack in different ways as long as you will consider a surprise attack.'Emma sighed before asking: 'How am I supposed to do that? What is that certain place?''I used the word 'certain' simply because I'd like you to figure out things by yourself. You will know once you will discover the surroundings of your hunting grounds. And always remember that it can easily see and hear you!' He then operated the round and small console again: 'Now, let's watch the video of the animal that you have chosen as your second prey!'Another video began to show. They watched it without any exchange of words. Emma addressed her love leader once that video had come to an end too: 'I must say that feline's colors and size are pretty similar to the one I had already hunted on Alpheus-Rey 421. Even their roars and behaviors have deep resemblances. Is the one I saw in the video a male or a female?''It's a male! The black speckles of its light brown coat are bigger than those of a female.''I remember the feline I had hunted on the other planet was also a male. That must be another reason why I found all those similarities between both animals. However I believe that battling against a female won't make the hunt easier even though I know about its weakness.'Ter'kan typed once again on the console: 'I have learned a lot about animals each time I went on hunts in different parts of the galaxy. And according to encounters I had, I've learned that fire or loud noises proved to be an excellent way of defending oneself.'Emma said with a more reassuring tone: 'That's interesting and encouraging. I will definitely use that knowledge to my advantage in order to battle more efficiently and make my kill.'He complimented her with a slight tilt of his head to the right: 'Your auspicious statement is going to lead you without any doubt to an unforgettable and rewarding hunt. And remember! I will always be there and guide you whenever it will be needed.' He was about to operate the console again in order to show Emma the video of the third animal, when stomping coming from the entrance caught their attention. They turned around and saw Anun'den with Jun'oki walking towards them. They engaged into a conversation.Anun'den was the first to leave the bridge after a slight bow of his head as a sign of agreement. Jun'oki moved away a while later once he took knowledge of his leader's decision.Emma asked as she watched the leader typing on the left side of the holographic screen: 'May I know what was the matter?''We were discussing about some possible itineraries during the upcoming hunts. Anun'den and Jun'oki wish to team up together with the intend of hunting the most dangerous animal. There will be another meeting once will we arrive at destination in order to discuss the final decision.'The third video began to show. They were both staring at the holographic screen, silent. Emma spoke again as soon as the video came to an end: 'That feline looks familiar to the ones I've already seen before that's why there is no reason to consider it more dangerous. It mustn't feel different when going on hunts.'Ter'kan's golden yellow eyes squinted smaller within his prominent and spiky eyebrows: 'Mind you! There is a good reason why it should be considered more dangerous.' He paused briefly in order to add a hint of suspense into the conversation before adding: 'Its poisonous bite makes the hunts more hazardous.'Uneasiness appeared on Emma's face: 'What will happened once its victim gets bitten?''The prey becomes paralyzed within seconds.'Emma let out a deep sigh: 'I will definitely consider this hunt with different thoughts and new approaches. I won't deny the fact that it scares me.' She sat on one of the chairs of the first raw and added: 'Sometimes fear doesn't only trigger negative feelings but can also augment courage in some circumstances. One more daring and confident action would be enough in order to work one's way towards a successful achievement.'Alrik'taden and nine other males soon arrived in the control room. The young male peered at Emma for a brief moment then went to sit next to her. He addressed her after a low and sensual trill: 'How is my tiny huntress doing? Arcadian jungle is going to bring satisfaction on many levels.'She turned her head to the right and met his light green eyes: 'True! I will have the opportunity to discover new hunting grounds.'The young male emitted another low and sensual trill while he still had his eyes fixed on her.Meanwhile some males took a seat whereas some others stood on the bridge and watched the operations that were taking place at the pilot posts. Ter'kan and the engineer began to operate two big consoles. Holographic screens formed which allowed them to complete the maneuvering for the takeoff.Emma sat still, glancing at the bay window of the pilot posts situated a few meters in front of her. A sudden, loud bang resounded, followed by movement right after. That was the hydraulic platform on which the ship was securely attached that was sliding in order to bring it outside. And then two others loud bangs were heard underneath the ship due to the docking clamps that have just detached from its sides. The powerful but somehow soothing rumble of the engine filled the control room immediately after. Slight vertical tremors were felt due to elevation. The ship took off within seconds and disappeared in the light blue and warm sky lit by the rays of sunlight.

----- CHAPTER BREAK -----

*Nineteenth month. Fourth day of the first week.Emma looked at her right and met Alrik'taden's light green gaze again. The young male nodded which brought a smile on her beautiful face. He went next to his father and asked some advice before moving away. Meanwhile males were crossing the bridge, executing tasks while some others were just standing there and exchanging words. Ter'kan and Shun'ji were operating panels and holographic screens at irregular intervals as they communicated only by signs or clicking sounds. Emma unwound with her eyes shut, lulled by distant and soothing sound of the engine.A very long moment went by. Emma was still dozing when the leader and his engineer finally commenced the manoeuvre for landing. Only sounds of approaching foot steps woke her up from the numbness. The control room started to fill with groups again due to the fact that the ship docked among multiple other vessels. The landing area was in the open air of a semi-arid region that was marking the beginning of the vast, Arcadian jungle. Imposing constructions of pyramidal shape, made of some sort of grey granite and steel were located about twenty meters away from the docking yards. That was an obligatory stop where hunters always gathered in order to confer and verify their equipment once more before they ventured themselves into the jungle.Males, including Seki'sen left the bridge and headed to rooms where hunting gear and weaponry were put on display in order to get ready. Ter'kan and Emma left the bridge a little while after and went to the room in which they found their equipment. They took the time to buckle every part of their armors and choose the weaponry. She made a remark just as she put one last dagger in the sheath that was hanging to her right hip: 'Here's something that would tell stories if it could talk!'He said while checking if the articulated arm of his plasma canon was well secured on the left pauldron of his armor: 'That dagger will show a lot for the long years to come. The more you will go on hunts the more it will wear out.''I intend to add a new one any time soon.'Some time later...The couple had a brief conversation then moved to another room. They found a few males, including Ter'kan's son in the act of choosing their weaponry. The young male was the first to complete his preparation so he left after exchanging some words with his father. Jun'oki, Dal'serah as well as Seki'sen followed him shortly after. The couple left that room after one last check and headed to another hexagonal-shaped one and decorated with metallic panels depicting various battle scenes and Yautja letters that gave access to the exit of the ship. The leader typed something on his wrist device before exiting. Trills accompanied words among the hunters just as the couple went down the ramp.Ter'kan addressed remarks to his comrades then headed for the modern pyramids. When they entered, the crowds were such that they had to slow down and clear themselves a path through groups. Groups were moving aside in order to let Emma and her comrades pass as the word 'ooman' was pronounced. The walls inside the pyramid were decorated with carved murals depicting battle scenes between Yautja warriors and other extraterrestrial life forms that were taking place in lush environments. The other exit, flanked by two statues of Yautja hunters, was situated on the other side which gave direct access to the jungle.Ter'kan and the rest of the clan finally left and marched towards the edge of the jungle.First they walked a part of the way all together. And then as they were venturing themselves farther they started to split into groups of three or four individuals. Seki'sen moved away accompanied by three of his comrades. Altik'taden and his group moved away some time after. Shun'ji and his group finally took a different itinerary too. The three hunters climbed the imposing trunk of a very tall tree and disappeared into the thick foliage.Ter'kan and Emma remained together and continued venturing themselves farther. She was becoming increasingly fascinated at the thought that she will go on new hunts in this tropical world. Trees and all sort of creepers intertwined. The warm air was filled with fragrant and intoxicating flowering plants. Splashes of water falls as high as the eye could see accompanied the sounds of diverse fauna. Rich soil, fresh and lush vegetation created a symbiosis welcoming and perfect for hunts. Parts of the conversations she had with the leader not so long ago were rushing through her mind as she kept clearing herself a path through the vegetation. It was hard to conceive that such a lush, exotic and scented place changed somewhere into a hotter environment, weighed down with the smell of murky, stagnant water as the stable ground gradually became more swampy. They moved forward by carefully scanning the surroundings. The bellowing of the herbivore that Emma intended to hunt soon echoed in the distance. Sp she switched her bio mask to motion tracking and thermal modes. Ter'kan emitted a trill then typed on his wrist computer. The first evidence of the beast came in sight just as they were coming out onto a small path aligned with high lumps of grass. They stopped and crouched down near the thin trunk of a young tree. The leader explained while brushing his hand on the part that was partially eaten out: 'The animal likes to feed itself with small quantities of bark.'She touched that part of the trunk herself: 'The scrap is still fresh. It came by this way not so long ago.'The hunters set off again. Another cry pierced the ht air as they kept clearing themselves a passage through the vegetation. Emma suggests with hands gestures to climb a tree. Ter'kan agreed with a nod then knelt on one knee thus allowing her to cling to him. It took him a matter of a few seconds in order to reach a thick branch situated at five meters above the ground. He put her down then crouched. She imitated him after a deep sigh. They listened to the sounds of the jungle for a short period of time. They were about to move on, that's when heavy sniffing accompanied by rustling came from down below. They resumed their crouching position and waited motionless. Rustlings were heard again before an imposing, antelope-like herbivore came out from a lush bush and began to graze.A moment passed. Emma made a hand gesture, indicating that she was going to check what was going on down. So she moved her head forward cautiously and took a quick look. She saw the herbivore grazing the round and dark green leaves of a plant that was growing just a few steps away from the trunk of the tree where she was hiding. She informed the leader about her finding by simply pointing her hand downward. He moved his head forward and checked, in turn. The herbivore was still close to their tree as it continued grazing on the same spot.Emma concentrated on the sniffing and grazing sounds of the herbivore for another while before her curiosity led her to check on the animal again. Now the herbivore was grazing just above the thick branch on which she was crouching on. She got up. The leader grabbed her right hand and with a gesture of his other hand, he made her understand that she should sit back. She refused with a shake of her head by pointing with her left hand downward. He released his grip. She bent without making a sound and checked again. She typed on her wrist device then jumped off the branch.Ter'kan sprang to his feet and looked down, thinking that now Emma was in position and ready to begin the battle. To his great astonishment he witnessed a different situation. His eyes widened and mandibles flared just as he saw her riding the herbivore with her arms firmly wrapped around its neck. The animal reared a few time then galloped back into the foliage of the jungle. The leader jumped off the branch, landing in a crouching position. He,in turn, typed on his wrist device then chased after her, cutting through the vegetation relentlessly.Meanwhile into a clearing...Emma began her attack by holding one of the herbivore's horns with her left hand as she reached at her back with the right one. She grabbed her spear and sank the whole metallic and pointy part into the herbivore's neck. The animal stopped. A loud bellowing shook the surroundings. She dismount her prey and took several steps back. The herbivore stumbled around, seemingly disorientated. This time she reached for the combistick that was hanging at her back. She extended it with a quick hand gesture and pounced on her wounded prey after shouting an war cry. She stabbed her prey's side with another deep and precise strike by holding her weapon with both hands. The animal shook the surroundings with another bellowing then collapsed dead. She removed her weaponry from the carcass right after. A thin trickle of dark red blood began to ooze from the wounds. Fast pacing foot steps caught her attention. She turned her head to the right and saw the leader standing at the edge of the clearing. He went to her: 'That was a really quick and efficient way of attacking. He added after a trill: 'You must tell me with your own words how did you proceed from the beginning til the end.'She explained breathless and sweaty: 'I had in mind those facts that make this animal difficult to hunt. And then upon further reflection I came up with the conclusion that one successful and easy way of beginning my attack was from above.' Ter'kan was listening with his head sightly tilted to the right. She went on by poking the left flank of her dead prey with the tip of her spear: 'When I saw the herbivore grazing just below the branch on which we were perched, I immediately thought that was the perfect moment in order to put my conclusion to practice.''Astonishment took over me the moment I saw you jumping off that branch.'Emma retracted her combistick: 'I can assure you that was quite an unforgettable ride.' She put the collapsed weapon and the spear away on the floor then took her mask off. She look around then concluded while holding the mask close to her chest: 'We are going to stay here for quite some time.'Ter'kan nodded as a response then grabbed the small hoses situated on both sides of his head and pulled them. Two hisses were emitted as pressurized, white vapor came out. He held the mask with both his hands and removed it from his face. His reptilian skin was shining with sweat. He twitched his upper mandibles as means of relaxation while taking a deep breath.Ter'kan and Emma began to settle their temporary camp. They worked together for a long moment, going here and there and exchanging words from time to time. The leader had the idea of making a bed of fresh leaves so later she will have a nice place to sleep. Then came the task of preparing the trophies. Her former hunts on Alpheus-Rey brought back some repulsive memories so she had to make effort in order to overcome her apprehensions. However she managed to work with great confidence and precise skills under the leader's surveillance, especially during the removing of the organic matter. Later...The sun had already started to slip behind the top of the trees. The hunters took pleasure in evoking again the hunt that took place earlier while enjoying a meal consisting of dried meat and fruits that they had brought with them. The weak flame of the campfire was lightening the scene.Their conversation continued well after dark. Emma was the first to show signs of fatigue. She went to lie down on the bed of fresh leaves and succumbed to sleep within minutes near the pile of her hunting gear and trophy.Ter'kan lied next to her some time after. He unwound for the rest of the night while always being on his guard just in case.Early in the morning of the next day...Emma woke up and turned her head to the left. She saw Ter'kan sitting on a long log. He was equipped but unmasked and typing on his wrist gauntlet. She raised herself into a sitting position: 'What are you doing handsome leader?'He said as he continued typing: 'I'm checking some important data concerning our next itinerary.'She rose from the bed of leaves and went to sit next to him: 'It seems that you worked again while I was asleep. We are going to make usage of this log in many ways.' She brushed her hand on the fresh bark: 'That being said, I remember each detail of our conversation last night.'The leader stopped typing on his wrist gauntlet: 'I enjoyed that moment myself very much.'Emma looked up at the sky just as a bird flew over then let him know about her thoughts: 'Today I wish to start with that poisonous feline.' She made a very brief pause: 'I'm ready for a big adrenaline rush.''I approve that change all the more especially since you did really well yesterday. Your prowess greatly weighs on the ways I evaluate your skills.'She has a content sigh.He grabbed his mask and placed it on his face then connected the hoses to his hunting gear.Emma, in turn, equipped herself. The leader tied her trophy with a thin rope and hung it in his back. They set off, taking a path different from the one they came from yesterday. The weather was hotter with an overcast sky. A light and white mist was weighting down the air. The more they were marching farther into the jungle the more they were becoming more alert about the surroundings. They made a stop once they finally arrived at a small waterfall. They sipped the fresh water by using the palms of their hands when all of a sudden roar rumbled far from their location.Emma recognized that eerie cry even though she'd heard it only one time during the viewing of the videos. A second roar closer shook again the surroundings which proved The hunters resumed their march. Fast pacing movements through the leaves accompanied with threatening snarls caught their attention just as they were reaching a group of giant fern like trees. As the stomping was becoming more distinctive, they became aware of the fact that it wasn't made by one animal but many more. They took a few more steps then simultaneously grabbed their weapons and extended them. At that point a battle seemed imminent.Four adults finally leaped out of the dense foliage And what made that appearance rather alarming was due to the fact, these were the same predatory mammals Emma saw in the last video that Ter'kan had showed her prior to their departure for the jungle. Now she was forced to battle against an even more dangerous animal than the one she had prepared herself for.The hunters took their positions and stood back to back. One of the beasts tried to strike a paw at Ter'kan. Another one tried to go for Emma right after. She welded her weapon: 'This is going to give me the opportunities to team up with you again.'The leader's natural senses helped him to smell the fear in her that she didn't want to show in spite of her words. He made a remark that he knew it would have a positive impact on her: 'The time has come for you to achieve new exploits.' He added after a loud and menacing growl in order to torment the beasts: 'Two for each one of us!''Right!' She then moved away from the leader and tried to aim her weapon at two of the felines alternately so in that way she obliged the animals to focus on her.Ter'kan fought for as long as possible before he finally began to deliver fatal blows. He extended his wrist blades and slashed the throat of one of the felines while emitting a loud and long growl. Blood spurted from the cut and big patched of dark red blood splashed on the sandy ground. The other beast kept going for him as it constantly snarled with increasing threat. The leader took several steps back then unsheathed his dagger and threw it. A piercing roar rumbled just as the long blade sank into the beast's jugular thus killing his second prey instantly. He observed the carcasses of his preys a brief moment before turning his head in order to focus his attention towards Emma.He saw her delivering efficient and powerful blows as ferociously as she could against her preys and always aiming at their necks and abdomens. She soon injured the one from the left by stabbing its neck. That successful blow had a truly positive impact on her which enhanced her ability of acting more efficiently. So she unhooked the net gun that was hanging at her waist and fired the weapon. The mesh hurtled on the beast with great speed and pinned it to the thick trunk of a very tall tree. The mesh started to cut through the roaring animal's flesh. She then quickly focused on her other prey just as it tried to blow a paw at her. She fended herself by constantly threatening the beast with the tips of her combistick. She fought like this with all her strength until in a fit of rage and eager to finish the battle she stabbed the feline into the chest. The beast roared then collapsed on its side, panting noisily with its tongue hanging out of its mouth. To Emma's surprise the feline got back on its feet again. It made a few steps before collapsing dead after one last roar. She approached the carcass and poked it with the tip of her combistick in order to make sure it was really dead. She then approached at a fast pace the other feline she had managed to immobilize to the tree earlier. The animal was bleeding profusely and could barely move. Soshe raised her w stabbing weapon with both hands and stabbed its abdomen.Ter'kan appeared in her field of vision. He took his mask off and went next to her: 'You fought amazingly well.'Emma, in turn, removed her mask: 'Your praise is satisfying.'They then removed their weapons from the carcasses. They spent a great amount of time cleaning and preparing skulls and different animals parts so later they could use them for different purposes. They set off again later that afternoon, loaded with the fruits of their hunts and returned to their camp. They found Seki'sen alone and busying himself with the cleaning and checking of a big dagger. His weaponry, a big skull with a complex bone structure as well as two dead and large birds with long necks and webbed feet were arranged on the log. A thick creeper loaded with small yellowish green and oval-shaped fruits was hanging to the lowest branch of the nearest tree. Greetings followed. The leader and his mate removed most of their equipment and arranged it in two neat piles.Emma and the two males transformed the camp according to their needs before they sat around the camp fire and enjoyed their meals while evoking their most recent achievements. Ter'kan took the good initiative of translating for Emma. The evening passed so. Emma let out a deep sigh then wrapped her thin and white arms around the leader's muscular. She slowly rubbed her cheek on the bulge of his biceps
a few times. Her sensual approach drew his attention: 'What is the matter?''Are we going to keep talking the whole night?'Ter'kan freed his arm from her embrace and wrapped her thin waist.Emma got up and took a few steps: 'What if i'm gong to sing?'The leader exchanged words with Seki'sen about Emma's intentions. The latter fixed his orange eyes on her and agreed with a nod. They then went to sit on the log and waited. The whole scene was lit by the dying campfire.Emma breathed deeply once and began to sing, She performed while executing graceful steps in order to show the beauty of her legs as she kept a constant contact with the leader and his second in command.Meanwhile bird calls were intermingling with animal cries and the distant splashes of a cascade.Emma's body's scent soon began to send a clear and irresistible sign to the hunters whose musky ones were becoming stronger. Their arousal was becoming more evident too.She went to them after the last sentence of her refrain. The leader began to rub the fingers of his right hand on her private parts while Seki'sen was gently stroking her round and smooth bottom. They provided her with strokes until the leader suggested to change the course of action. So they continued the foreplay on the floor. The males laid on their backs with their legs slightly apart. Emma knelt between them and, in turn, gave them pleasure by constantly going from one to another.Ter'kan requested after a long moment thus changing the course of the action again: 'Stand up!'She complied. Males changed their positions too. The leader knelt in front her while Seki'sen placed himself at her right and stimulated erogenous parts of her body until they saw fit the moment of possessing her.Later on Emma fell asleep on the bed made of fresh leaves near the pile of her equipment, lulled by distant birdsong. Ter'kan and Seki'sen sat near the dying flame of the fire camp and engaged into a conversation while handling the fruits of their last hunts.

----- CHAPTER BREAK -----

Nineteenth month. Sixth day of the first week. When Emma woke up the next day, the sun was already high in the sky. She remained lying on her left side and listened to voices and sounds that were animating the camp for a while. The rest of the clan must have arrived during night. She got up dressed only in her bikini. She turned her head to the right and saw several males, including Seki'sen wearing only half of their equipment and sitting around the extinguished camp fire. Each one of them had items of his hunting gear as well as a skull neatly arranged behind him. She then drew her attention to some others and spotted Alrik'taden. He was only wearing his loin cloth and sitting near the pile of his hunting gear and busy checking one of his weapons.Emma greeted him teasingly in a loud voice: 'How are you doing, naughty? I was beginning to wonder what you've become.'The young male addressed her with a wave of his right hand: 'Come closer! We need to talk.' He then put the spear on the ground, next to him and grabbed his wrist device from which a pair of blades were extending. She went to him. He added: 'I and few others arrived at the camp before the daybreak.' He ceased handling his wrist device: 'Let's talk about your most recent hunts!'She sat in front of him with her legs bent: 'Your father must have already told you something.''I've heard about your prowess during the hunt of that herbivore. You acted courageously and used your fighting skills in fast and efficient ways. You may be small in size but your ways of attacking make you menacing.' He then emitted a trill as he slightly tilted his head to the right.Emma said as feelings of fulfillment took over her: 'The beginning of my attack was a last minute strategy. I had knowledge of how tough that animal was in order to approach it due to its extraordinary olfactory and hearing senses. So when I saw it grazing the vegetation near the trunk of the tree where I was hiding, I thought that jumping off that tree would be the best strategy in order to start an efficient surprise attack.''Well said! It proves that you were prepared mentally and physically.'She responded to his praise with contentment in the tone of her voice: 'It's true! I had courage in order to defeat my prey. Things also progressed to my advantage once I was able to mount it.''You must know that each hunt brings new circumstances so it is very possible that you will always discover new skills within yourself. Your first hunts on Arcadia-Syrinx have been rewarding.'She said after a smile: 'Yes, indeed! I informed your father about the change concerning my plans about the second hunt the next morning because I have decided to start with that poisonous feline. Needless to say that your father approved my new decision. I was surely ready for a big adrenaline. So your father and I set off once we had completed our preparations. The weather was hotter than the previous day. We took a path different from the one we had come from the previous day. We cautiously began to explore the jungle in search of that feline. It didn't take us long until we heard roars of the animal we were after, rumbling far in the distance. Fast pacing movements through the leaves and snarls soon caught our attention. That's when we realized that the stomping on the ground came from more than one animal.'Alrik'taden slightly flared his mandibles as astonishment appeared in his piercing and light green eyes: 'A last minute change of action.''Exactly! So your father and I took hold of our combisticks and extended them. It didn't take long until we found ourselves surrounded by four big felines that weren't the ones we thought we are going to encounter. As a matter of fact these were the same predatory mammals I saw in the last video that your father had showed me prior to our departure for the jungle. I must admit that was a scary and unexpected change due to the fact that I was forced to battle against an animal even more dangerous than the one I had been prepared myself for. First I fought with your father together before I moved away from him. In this way two of the felines focused only on me. From then on the battles lasted for a long moment. Your father was battling his preys, teasing them as much as possible while I was fighting mine as ferociously as I could. I finally managed to injure the one from the left by stabbing it in the neck. That successful blow had a truly positive impact on me. This enhanced my ability of acting more efficiently. So I unhooked the net gun that was hanging at my waist and fired the weapon. The mesh hurtled on the beast with great speed and pinned it to the thick trunk of a very tall tree. The mesh started to cut through the roaring animal's flesh. I then quickly focused on my other prey just as it tried again to blow a paw at me. I fended myself by constantly threatening the beast with the tips of my combistick until in a fit of rage and eager to finish the battle, I pierced its chest. The beast roared then collapsed on its side, panting noisily with its tongue hanging out of its mouth. It tried to get back on its feet but collapsed again and finally died after one last roar. I then approached at a fast pace the other feline I had managed to immobilize to the tree earlier. The animal was bleeding profusely and could barely move. So I delivered one last and fatal blow at the neck by holding my combistick with both hands.'Alrik'taden put his hand on her right shoulder: 'Your fierceness was constant and impressive. Your victory was well deserved.'Emma and Alrik'taden took a keen interest in the conversation so that the rest of the clan gathered around them. The conversation became general and was all about hunts which lasted for quite some time. The young male took the initiative of translating for Emma as each male evoked his most recent exploits. They then parted and went about their business. Seki'sen stroked her shoulder as a prove of satisfaction while emitting a trill before moving away. He equipped himself with the rest of his hunting gear. He completed his preparation by hanging his trophies in the back near the medical kit. His leader who stood nearby began his own.Emma and Alrik'raden has just left the camp in order to freshen up at the cascade. The leader stopped what he was doing and followed them with his eyes until they were out of sight.Another long moment went by as the hunters kept themselves busy with various tasks inside the camp.Meanwhile at the cascade...Alrik'taden and Emma were enjoying their time. At the beginning they stood one in front of the other for a moment and just let the water falling on them. Things heated up when the young male began to wash her. So he grabbed her hand and took a few steps in order to be away from the falling water. He slowly continued brushing his hands on different regions of her body. Emma's bottom was round and smooth, still small in his large clawed hands. Her scent of arousal pleased him. She cuddled up to him and pressed her head on his muscular chest. Her breath panted on his chest followed by wet and warm touches from her mouth. The young male caressed the back of her head.<,/p>

That's when Emma noticed a masked and equipped Yautja hunter crouched on the thick branch of a nearby tree and half-hidden by the dense foliage. She said in a low tone while putting her hands flat on his chest: 'There is someone on our left, perched on a branch.'He looked up in the tree: 'I'm not bothered by his presence.''I am and I'd like to go.'Alrik'taden expressed his dissatisfaction with a growl. They moved away without further delay. The young male declared just as they arrived at the camp after emitting another growl: 'That one is gonna get busted if he ever crosses my path again.' Emma looked up at him then went back to her belongings. She spotted Ter'kan and Seki'sen who were all equipped and having a conversation. The leader addressed her at once with a wave of his hand: 'Come closer! We've been discussing about an important matter. And today I decided that you and Seki'sen should go on a hunt.' She went next to them: 'I thought that today I'm going to team up with you again. Your new decision perplexes me.'The leader put his hand on her right arm which was still wet from the shower she had at the cascade: 'I know! That being said, I'd like to inform you about the itinerary. Seki'sen happened to have an unexpected idea which of course I declined. You proved yourself very well in the past. Your skills allowed you to fight accurately in order to come up with rewarding results. In fact you keep improving with each new hunt and I'm proud of you. However there are preys that are still far too dangerous for you to hunt all by yourself.' He took his hand way from her before revealing more: 'Not to scare you or anything but Seki'sen wants to go for a hunt in the swamps.'Emma made her remark after glancing at Seki'sen: 'Why not? It will make hunts more challenging.'Ter'kan retorted: 'You must add hazardous too. You know that the most dangerous animal lurks there.'She muttered under her breath as she glanced at the second in command again: 'This is indeed true!' She paused for a few seconds before asking: 'What else do you suggest?'He put his hand on her arm again: 'I decided that you and Seki'sen should hunt in the part of the jungle situated near the swamps. There is a predatory beast that would be suitable for you to hunt on condition that you team up with him.'Emma sighed: 'I know that you've made the right choice for me yet again.''Sure and I have already discussed with him how things are going to go. And that's how I would like the hunt to take place if I'm meant to go with you. So once the prey is spotted the stalking will begin. Seki'sen will communicate with you by using body language and only words from the Yautja language you know. Once he considered that the time has come for the attack, you must remain safe in a place and let him begin the battle. You will keep watching until he will shout 'nan-dethan-gaun' which means 'no mercy'. It will be the signal you should take over the battle in order to finally defeat your prey.''My courage and self-confidence are strengthen by your praise. Besides you always chose the right words in order to express what would be the efficient strategy of attacking,'The leader stroked her cheek while emitting a trill: 'Do you have any questions?''I don't have any! Your description of the facts gave me a vivid perception of the scenario to come.''Good! Now you should get ready.' He had another short talk with the second in command then moved away.It took Emma only a matter of minutes in order to complete her preparation. She set off with Seki'sen walking by her side after typing something on her wrist gauntlet.Alrik'taden followed them with his eyes until they were out of sight. He then began to equip himself again.

----- CHAPTER BREAK -----

The weather was hot with an overcast sky. The air was weighed with the heady fragrance of the lush vegetation and the smell of the fauna. Animal cries mingled with birds screeches. Seki'sen and Emma left the camp by taking the path that led to the cascade and began their match towards the area situated near the swamps. The second in command's fiery and orange eyes were always dissecting Emma for a reaction. His natural senses must have allowed him to check her emotional state. She soon had to increase her pace in order to match the hunter's strides. They made an halt after a long walk. Seki'sen pointed his clawed index at a group of very tall trees that were aligned on the right side and on the top of which strident screeches added incessant and loud noise. That was his simple way of communication in order to make her understand that they should climb one of those trees. Emma nodded her head in acknowledgment. He emitted a trill then knelt down on one knee thus allowing her to wrap her arms firmly around his neck and her legs around his waist. He resumed his standing position and the climbing began. Emma took the opportunity to analyze parts of his body that were at her eyes level. She could partially see the pebbly skin along his jawbone that was flattening into fainter stripes beneath his two necklaces that were resting on his broad and muscular chest. One was made of small skulls alternating with beads made of some sort of silvery metal and engraved with Yautja letters. The longer one was a thin string made of black leather and decorated with various trinkets and small bones. The climbing stopped just as she was having her eyes fixed on his neck protector. He put her down on a thick branch and typed on his wrist device. Emma understood that he has just set his bio mask on tracking mode in order to observe the surroundings below due to the slow movements of his head. So she, in turn, typed on her wrist device before checking the surroundings too. They climbed down moments later and set of again in search of the prey they were after.Seki'sen ordered a new halt with a hand gesture after another long walk. He then brought up a hologram from his wrist computer. It showed a map of the region in shades of glowing red and blue with a black dot in the upper right corner. Emma understood that was a routine check in order to evaluate the remaining walking distance to the area where the hunt will take place.Their march resumed again. A bird screech or an animal cry made the huntress more alert with each step taken on the leaf litter. Seki'sen was always leading the way which forced to bow her head on several occasions in order to avoid being smacked in the face. Sounds of the crashing water announced a waterfall. The drone of insects rose up, punctuated by incessant bird calls. Trees soared to staggering heights. Sensations she went through during hunts on Alpheus-Rey 421 resurfaced thus testing her alertness and augmenting her uneasiness. She looked up and saw the sun but only the shadows from what light managed to filter through the leaves that spread out at the top of the trees.
The air was becoming increasingly more humid and stagnant. The hunters finally reached the edge of a small clearing that was half surrounded by rocks of different sizes. Seki'sen order a new halt with a hand gesture and analyzed some trees that were growing at the edge of the clearing. Emma followed into his steps while being attentive to what he was doing. One had small tufts of black fur hanging on the lower part of the trunk. He turned towards her and said in a slightly muffled and very deep tone: 'Kv'var.' **NOTE: Kv'var means hunt in Yautja language.Emma responded with just a nod then took, in turn, a look at the small tufts of fur. She remembered similarities with the behavioral life of a bear from Earth. The beast they were after seemingly liked to rub itself against tree trunks in order to get rid of potential parasites. The second in command took a few steps and crouched down near another trunk in order to check oval and dark brown objects. large pebbles. She made her own closer check. What she mistook for large pebbles were in fact animal feces. It was another undeniable proof that their prey crossed the clearing not so long ago. From then on it was becoming difficult to distinguish one particular sound from another due to the cacophony produced by the squawks of birds in the canopy. Emma looked up towards the top of the trees. First the nearest birds calls quieted. It was then the distant ones that stopped singing. Avians felt threatened by a danger they could sense but not see. Instinctively she focused on the ground again. The sensation of being watched augmented her anxiety.Seki'sen took his upright position and switched his bio-mask to advanced motion-tracking. He then helped Emma to get up on the biggest rock before climbing one of the trees nearby in order to investigate further more. He leaped to another branch and climbed higher. He was in prime position so he scanned the surroundings again to see if there was any physical evidence of the animal he was after. He remained motionless for a brief period of time then was about to leap to another branch. A movement through the foliage down below caught his attention. So he switched to thermal mode and climbed down from the tree. He touched the ground again in a crouching position in order to absorb the impact.Emma followed him with her eyes attentively as a slight frown appeared on her face. A shriek made her look up for an instant before concentrating on the ground again. There was nothing except the white noise of the jungle. Seki'sen moved forward. Another rustling sound in the foliage made him turn his head to the right. Movements accompanied loud growls. At that point a battle became imminent. He emitted his own menacing sound then extended his combistick.Emma's breathing was deep and regular. Her impatience was augmenting too. She instinctively grabbed the handle of her dagger and held it tightly in her clenched fist as she drew all her attention towards the source of the movements.More unbearable seconds of waiting went by.An animal as big as the terrestrial horse that looked like a cross between a wolf and a bear finally jumped out of a high and thick herbage. It checked the hunter from a distance while emitting growls. Its short-haired coat was black and its eyes were glowing red. The lower and prominent canines were protruding from its enormous and robust jaws giving the beast an even more terrifying look each time it was snarling. Seki'sen roared once then moved towards the beast while brandishing his extended weapon threateningly in order to force it to attack. The beast repeatedly struck a paw at him. The second in command roared again as he fiercely attempted to stab the triceps of his prey, knowing that was a vulnerable part of its anatomy. He began to battle. He managed to deliver a series of successful blows. Now badly injured, the beast continued attacking more ferociously and growling louder in frustration. Seki'sen warded off each strike by using his combistick as a shield. The suspense augmented when he accidentally dropped his weapon due to the prey's repetitive and vigorous blows of paw. So he immediately extended his wrist blades and inflicted another cut on his prey. The animal beat a hasty retreat seemingly weaker so that it was currently standing close to the rock on which Emma was perched on.Seki'sen waited for a few seconds in order to see if the animal would strike at him again but it didn't. He grabbed the spear that was hanging in his back and shouted: 'Nan-dethan-gaun!' 'nan-dethan-gaun' means 'no mercy'. He then threw it with all the strength of his arm. The weapon sank into the animal's abdomen. It was Emma's turn to carry on with the battle. So she unsheathed the two daggers that were hanging at her hips and in a fantastic act of bravery jumped off the rock on the back of the wounded animal. She raised her weapons and simultaneously sank the blades up to the handles into its neck. The animal moved unsteadily, roaring one last time before collapsing, lifeless. Emma remained seated on the back of the dead beast for a short while then unmounted it after she let out a deep sigh of satisfactory relief. She took her mask off and turned around. She saw Seki'sen a few meters away and watching her with a tilt of his head which strongly suggested that the success of their hunt must have brought new thrills he had certain troubles to contain. He emitted a trill then reached to the small hoses situated on both sides of his large head and, in turn, removed his bio mask. He went to her and gently patted her cheek with his right hand while holding his mask in his left one. Emma looked up and met his orange, fiery eyes. Another soothing and sensual purr rose from somewhere deep inside him. He nod before moving away. He grabbed one of the metallic boxes that was hanging in his back and crouched down next to the carcass. He put his mask on the floor then pressed the palm of his right hand on the lid and opened the box. He turned around and with a simple wave of his hand, he asked Emma to come up to him. She grabbed her own box which contained the necessary tools for the cleaning of trophies
and crouched down next to him. She removed her weapons from the neck and wiped them, She put them back in the sheaths firmly attached to her hips. The second in command also removed his spear from the bear's left flank and put it on the floor nearby. Blood began to ooze from the wounds. Each one grabbed a medium-sized dagger from a sheath that was hanging to their waists and proceeded with the preparation of the trophy.Seki'sen sank the entire blade of his dagger into the bear's neck and made a long cut. He then made her understand with another hand gesture that she should continue the process. She responded with a nod then raised her own weapon by holding the handle with both her hands and sank it into the animal's neck. She began to cut into the flesh with a bit of difficulty under the second in command's watchful eyes who was still holding his dagger in one hand. She managed to complete her share of the work after making a few pauses between cuts. The second in command rewarded her with another pat on her right shoulder in order to let her know that her work was satisfactory. All of a sudden he dropped his dagger on the sandy soil. His quick and abrupt gesture made Emma startle a little bit. He took a hold of the animal's head with both his hands and torn it away with a shower of dark red blood droplets. They began the cleaning by using tools from their metallic boxes. Seki'sen slipped four fingers of his right hand under the skin at the base of the neck where the head had been cut off from the animal's body. He continued the process by moving his hand all around in order to detach the skin from the flesh. He then turned inside out the part of the skin that he has just peeled off and began the skinning process. Emma had troubles to contain an uncontrollable pout of disgust just as she saw the bloody and dark red flesh being revealed little by little. That stage of an hunt brought, once again, unavoidable uneasiness to her state in spite of the numerous trophies she had already prepared before.Emma took out of her box a device that looked like a gun after the second in command completed the skinning process. The device produced a powerful jet of hot steam in order to boil the flesh of the skull thus facilitating the removal of the soft tissues. The last step was the polishing while the bone was still wet and steamy which she did really well. She resumed her standing position and held the skull high in her hands. Seki'sen put his clawed hand on the pauldron that covered her right shoulder and said in a very deep and calm tone: 'Yeyinde.' 'Yeyinde' means 'brave' in Yautja language. She looked up at him: 'A'ket'anu kv'var'. 'A'ket'anu kv'var' means 'beautiful hunt'.Seki'sen and Emma set off some time later, all equipped again, after one last check of their wrist computers. The second in command took the initiative of carrying the skull. When they finally returned to the meeting point situated at the edge of the jungle, the sun had already begun to slip behind the range of mountains. They stopped by for a short moment and observed solitary hunters or groups coming and going constantly amidst those who remained there in order to have a talk. The second in command typed something on his wrist computer then exited and headed back to the ship with Emma walking by his side. They noticed, half way, Ter'kan and a group of seven males, standing near the lowered ramp. The leader exchanged words with the second in command before addressing Emma too: 'We were impatiently waiting for your return.'Alrik'taden has just showed himself at the entrance of the ship. He spoke while going down the ramp: 'Greetings, my tiny huntress! Can't wait to hear about your new exploits.''I can't wait for that either. It will give me the opportunity to talk about my encounter with that bear from hell.'The young male's light green ayes squinted smaller under his prominent and spiky brows.Meanwhile the group of males, including Alrik'taden went up the ramp one by one. Emma sighed contently then followed them with a slight sway of hips. The leader glanced towards the pyramidal constructions one more time then got on board the ship too.Alrik'taden went up the ramp, in turn. He stood at the top and looked at the setting sun slowly slipping below the horizon for a brief moment then typed on a screen situated at the right of the doorway. The sliding doors and the ramp began to close back. He waited until the process was completed before engaging into the corridor that led to the control room. Ter'kan and Shun'ji began to operate their consoles as soon as they noticed the young male's presence on the bridge. The ship took off for its voyage back to the mega city of Arcadia.

----- CHAPTER BREAK -----

*Nineteenth month. Seventh day of the first week.It was about mid-morning. Dead silence fell on the living quarters of the Ryujin clan's ship. Meanwhile in one of the dimly lit rooms whose the sliding doors were open, Emma was sleeping naked in the middle of the very large and square-shaped bed and partially covered with a white sheet. Her human, flowery scent lingered in the air. Some of her personal belongings and Ter'kan's were occupying the two low and large tables situated on both sides of the bed.Slow-paced foot steps soon broke the serenity of the place and Alrik'taden appeared in the doorway. He emitted a trill then moved closer to the bed. Emma's diaphanous skin was glowing in the semi-darkness of the room. He unbuckled his belt and removed the silver-colored, metallic codpiece. He then cautiously lay down on the bed next to her, naked. He stared at the ceiling for a brief moment before turning his head to the right. He contemplated her because Emma was so beautiful even when she was asleep. Her scent was an intoxicating mix of flowers and the natural perfume of her white and soft skin. The young male focused on her face. Her mouth was framed with pale pink and soft flesh he knew as lips. He also knew that the touches from her mouth were called kisses and those of her species were pressing their mouths together in order to show feelings of love and affection. New ideas crossed the young male's mind as he kept analyzing her slightly parted lips. He wondered how it would be like if he pressed his lip-less mouth or his folded mandibles against the soft flesh of her lips. The thought of that contact pleased him in spite their differences. The young male felt a lock of her hair. That's when Emma moved her left arm before she opened her eyes. She noticed his presence so she raised herself into a sitting position and asked in a low tone: 'What are you doing here? Why are you naked?'He leaned on his elbow: 'I came to inform you about something but I found you asleep. So I preferred to wait until you wake up.' He then shifted again purposely in order to give her a better view of his member.Emma dragged her eyes away from him then got off the bed. This gave him the opportunity to have a glimpse of her shapely nudity. She went on with a clearer voice as she wrapped the sheet around herself: 'Tell me, what you were doing while I was asleep?''Thoughts!'Emma sat on the edge of the bed: 'Thoughts? What kind of thoughts?'He got off the bed and went to sit next to her: 'I was wondering how it would feel like if I were to press my mouth to yours.' He slowly began to caress her shoulder through the fabric of the sheet: 'Remember what we have started in the jungle?'She challenged him with a look: 'Yes, that! So, you are still thinking about it.'An exotic and musky scent began to emanate from him: 'I do!' He added while contemplating her with anticipation: 'You know what I want.' He then unwrapped the sheet and slowly began to brush his hands on her warm and smooth hips. His senses and developed olfactory system allowed him to feel her own arousal state. He always enjoyed the way she was in spite of the fact that her skin looked and smelled different from the one of an Yautja female.Emma asked by putting her hands on his: 'What was the real purpose of your visit?'He stopped his caresses: 'There is a time for everything.' He then returned to bed and lay on his back. He said as he held out his right hand to her as an invitation: 'Come 'She went to lie down beside him. A torrid sex session followed. When it was finally over, she asked while lying on her side: 'Are you going to tell me what really brought you here?'Alrik'taden turned his head towards her: 'Ku'ja'deeh and his entire clan have docked their ship in this same hangar not so long ago.''Why should we be concerned by Ku'ja'deeh arrival?''We should! Shun'ji's sister is Ku'ja'deeh's favorite mate.''Is Shunji's sister also among our visitors?'The young male brushed his hand on her right shoulder: 'Yes, she is with them.'She raised herself into a sitting position: 'Tell me more about our guest!''Your encounters with Seki'sen and Ata'kheramen have become unforgettable. But wait until you will meet Ku'ja'deeh!'She had a giggle: 'Precisely! It's going to be fun.''Ku'ja'deeh isn't like someone you can see everyday. He is almost three meters tall. Besides there is something unique about him.'She had another giggle: 'Really? Let's see how much of him I'm going to be able to take!' She then got off the bed. She added as she walked towards the door of the bathing room: 'I must dress up.'The young male did't say anything else. He dressed himself then left the room after one last glance at the bed.Emma retired in the bathing room in order to freshen up and constantly thinking about the conversation she just had with Alrik'taden. Ir came moment came when she had to stop what she was doing because she was losing herself in her thoughts. She came out dressed up a little later and completed her preparation by gathering all hair in the neck to a pony tail and twist it into a chignon. She secured it with silver hair pins, embedded with blue and white semi-precious stones. She then left her quarters and headed to the control room. She found Alrik'taden, typing on the console which allowed to view videos of past hunting parties. He complimented her after a trill: 'You look great! They are going to be taken aback when they will see you.''They won't forget that fast.'He patted her on her cheek as a response.Alrik'taden and Emma left the control room and hurried up to the exit of the ship. He gave her information just as they were going down the ramp: 'Ku'ja'deeh's ship is the fourth from the left.'They traversed the distance between their ship and Ku'ja'deeh's with difficulty due to the fact that the wide center lane that was going from one end of the hangar to other one was crowed with incessant comings and goings.Alrik'taden added once they arrived to their destination: 'My father told me that the meeting is going to take place in the control room. Members of the two clans are going to attend.' He then pointed his clawed index at one of the two doorways that led to corridors: 'We should take the right corridor.'They engaged into a long and deserted corridor. Their foot steps were resounding as if they were walking under a cathedral-like construction vault. Soon voices were becoming louder as they were coming nearer to the control room. When they entered the crowded room seconds later, they found males sitting while some others were standing here and there. They cleared themselves a path through groups and went to join the two leaders who were sitting next to each other.Ter'kan waved at them: 'You're finally here!'Emma went to place herself next to him. His son leaned against a console not far from there. Ku'ja'deeh scrutinized Emma for a brief moment with his head slightly tilted to the right then addressed Ter'kan. The latter translated under the other's watchful eyes who gradually had stopped talking among themselves in order to focus what the human and the two leaders were saying.Emma began to make remarks about Ku'ja'deeh's physical appearance: 'Sure, he is good looking with a very charismatic personality. I find the colors and texture of his skin really attractive. However I must admit that his size is something to be reckoned with.'Ter'kan exchanged more words with Ku'ja'deeh after a trill befre translating again: 'He may be very big when compared to you but you absolutely mustn't fear him because his gentleness can be great in case he has to deal with a beautiful flower such as you.'Meanwhile Alrik'taden seemingly enjoyed every bit of the scene. This must have nourished the concupiscent side of his personality with lustful thoughts and visions. A few more minutes went by and Emma was becoming more the center of attention. But as one might think her first encounter with Ku'ja'deeh didn't consist only in having a conversation. Ter'kan surprised her with a request: 'Ku'ja'deeh would like you to sit next to him.'Emma hesitated for a brief instant then got near him. So he made her sit on his right thigh. The difference of their body size became evident. She looked so petite and frail next to Ku'ja'deeh. He could have easily encircled her waist with both his enormous hands. His wrists were as thick as Emma's calves. His torso was a mountain made of muscles and the circumference of each one of his biceps was equal to both her thighs. His body was emanating the usual musky smell but with a hint of something that reminded her the one of the sandalwood from Earth. She took the opportunity to check on Seki'sen and Alrik'taden were doing just as she pressed her hands on his muscles. The young male was carefully watching the scene with his head slightly tilted to the right and his mandibles closed. The second in command stood there motionless. His slightly arched back and flared mandibles flared proved he wasn't at ease with the way the meeting was progressing. Meanwhile Shun'ji's sister didn't let the scene out of her sight either. The Yautja female was watching the interaction between Emma and Ku'ja'deeh with a bland expression on her face.Another long time passed until the meeting was finally over.p>Members of the Ryu'jin clan began to evacuate he place. So Ku'ja'deeh held Emma by the waist and put her down then stood up. The difference of their heights was such that she had an involuntary frown as she found herself with her face just up to the big male's crotch area. She was about to move away but he grabbed her arm. He held her by the waist once again with both his hands and lifted her up in the air. Her face was at level with his. He folded back his mandibles as to not cause any damage to her skin and inhaled the scent of her neck and the one of her private parts. He emitted a trill then cautiously put her down again. Emma went away with a frown and seemingly perplexed.Ter'kan and his son followed right behind her. The latter addressed her just as they were coming out onto the space that gave access to the exit of the ship: 'That was a spectacular ending, wasn't it?'She turned towards him: 'I was taken aback by the way Ku'ja'deeh smelled me.'Alrik'taden put his hands on her left shoulder: 'You won't forget your first meeting with him any time soon.''I must admit that it left its mark on me.''There is nothing to worry about since he considers you as a flower.''That was delicate and unexpected for the least to say. See you!' She headed to the small ship accompanied by the leader. The rest of the clan got inside the bigger one.Nineteenth month. Fourth morning of the second week.Ter'kan and Emma have just finished eating their morning meal. The leader took the opportunity to inform her about an important meeting where only males of high rank could attend. He then got up from the table and left.Emma began to make some arrangements. Time passed so.Later she went to sit next to the window in order to read a book that she saved from the wrecked camp almost two years ago. She finally fell asleep in the middle of the big bed later that night. The next morning...When Ter'kan was finally back Emma was still asleep. He removed different parts of his outfit except his loin cloth. He then went to lie next to her by making the least noise. He unwound motionless with his eyes shut for a long moment.A faint moan soon came from the bed. Emma moved her right arm then opened her eyes. She turned her head to the right and saw Ter'kan lying on his side. She spoke with a bit of sleepy voice: 'Good to see you again. How was your conference yesterday?'He pulled her closer to him: 'Rewarding! I had many interesting encounters with different people, including Altik'taden's uncle. He is the brother of his deceased mother. We had a long conversation. He is expecting our visit today.'She continued in a louder voice as she felt more alert: 'I can't wait to meet another member of your family. What is his name? How old is he?'Dakdate'Yin Tekai is almost six hundreds years old.'They hugged for another short while then got off the bed and took a bath together. They finally left their room later in the afternoon after a meal consisting of fish and vegetables.Dakdate'Yin Tekai resided in a long and wide street situated in the oldest part of South Arcadia. E\Modern skyscrapers made of glass and steel rose among eight and ten stories old buildings made of granite and decorated with Yautja metallic, tribal sculptures. The uncle lived in one of those ols buildings.Ter'kan and Emma took in the whole height of the construction then crossed the beautifully sculpted, high-arched doorway and took the elevator to the top floor. There were two doors on both sides of the landing. The leader pushed a flickering red, round button of the one situated to the right and waited.Heavy foot steps stomped on the marble floor and the door slide opened on one side revealing a very attractive, middle-aged Yautja male. Emma looked up at him He was a tad shorter than Ter'kan with creamy skin, splattered with orange-brownish splotches. A light grey loin cloth attached to a belt made of black leather covered the lower half of his body to the knees. His dreadlocks were partially white and adorned with intricate rings made of metals that looked like silver and copper. Pauldrons made of the same materials covered his wide and muscular shoulders. Many Yautja males wore them only by coquetery. The uncle let them in a spacious room adjacent to two other smaller rooms. Weaponry was put on display on a wall near a bay window. He showed them with a hand gesture the way to a black wooden table with four chairs. Small chunks of raw and coked meat, fruits, cooked vegetables, fruits, Arcadian sweets and beverages were ready to be served. Ter'kan and his uncle sat next to each other while Emma placed herself in front of them. A moment of silence followed. They began to serve themselves.Emma have just finished arranging chunks of vegetables on her plate. She was about to take a piece of cooked meat from a metallic bowl that's when she met the uncle's light yellow eyes. His sudden and intense interest perplexed her so she lowered her gaze. Ter'kan didn't realize the scene. The uncle stared at her for a few more seconds then poured himself a glass of a orange beverage and sipped from it three times.Dakdate'Yin Tekai and Emma were becoming more and more accustomed to each other as the evening progressed. This gave her the opportunity to ask him questions about his deceased sister. His statement brought an indisputable conclusion which helped her to deduct that him being so attractive, his sister must have been very pretty too. Ter'kan enjoyed that part of the conversation especially when he had to translate for Emma. The latter sang and danced upon the leader's request. Dakdate'Yin Tekai proved his appreciation with new intense gazing and soft trills. Nineteenth month. Second day of the fourth week in the afternoon. Emma has just finished packing. She sat next to the high window and glanced round the buildings outside. The color of the sky was turquoise blue and peppered with strings of fluffy, white clouds. Various kind of thoughts occupied her mind. The sojourn on Arcadia-Syrinx had undeniably brought greater happiness into her relationship with Ter'kan and strengthened her relationships with Seki'sen. Feelings of greater respect and admiration developed between them gradually.Emma was lost in her thoughts when the doors slide opened and the leader appeared. He asked, walking towards her: ' How are you, love? Are you ready for another big journey?'She stood up: 'The thought of our return to Yautja Prime makes me content. However I can't prevent myself from being also sad because we must leave our home on Arcadia-Syrinx.'He put his hand on her right shoulder: 'You've already shared my life style for so long now and you know that I never reside in the same place for a long period of time.' He added while stroking her cheek: 'I think we should go.' She kissed the palm of his hand. They checked a few things in different parts of the vast room, including the bathing room then closed the shutters. The leader grabbed the few bags and left with Emma walking by his side. The same sounds and crowds were animating the big city when they arrived on Arcadia-Syrinx.Emma made a remark just as they were crossing the gate that gave access to the station: 'I'm happy at the thought that soon we are going to embark again on board the smaller ship.''Not this time! I had a different plan in mind. Shun'ji has already left around midday. He is going to pilot the smaller ship all by himself back to Yautja Prime.'They boarded the shuttle bound for North-Arcadia. Emma said with a faint smile: 'In that case our ship is in very good hands.'When the couple finally reached the hangar, they had to clear themselves a passage with difficulty due the increasing crowd and activities in order to get to their ship. They then looked around one more time before going up the ramp. They were welcomed by Alrik'taden whom they found on the bridge of the control room. First the young male exchanged words with his father before focusing on Emma: 'How is my tiny huntress today?' He began to type on a console situated in the middle of the bridge. 'I've heard that you met my uncle Dakdate'Yin Tekai.'She went next to him after a soft laugh: 'Yes indeed! I really enjoyed his company. I found him handsome with a stunning character. My long conversation with him also taught me new things.'He stopped typing and asked with a tilt of his head to the left: 'Like what?''Well...according to what I've been told your uncle looks like his sister very much. So I come up with the undeniable conclusion that your mother must have been very pretty too.'The young male said after typing on the console once again: 'I have troubles to remember things concerning my mom because I was little when she died. However I will never forget how beautiful she was.' He then moved away and went to speak with Dal'serah.Emma observed the young male with sadness in her eyes for a short while then went to have a seat.Ter'kan and Seki'sen standing at the pilot post and operating consoles while exchanging words. Some time passed when all of a sudden she felt movements as the hydraulic platform was pulling the ship out of the hangar. Loud bangs were heard underneath the ship because docking clamps have just detached. Another loud bang resounded a while after which proved that their ship wasn't securely held on the platform anymore. A ray of sunlight entered the ship through the bay window just as the powerful but somehow soothing sound of the engine roared. The ship took off and rose slowly above the docking area until it was high enough in the sky. It then flew away propelled by the power of the jet engines.END OF BOOK. 4
