What A Beautiful Wedding

Work Text

Todoroki Shouto didn’t really talk much. If he could convey a message from a facial expression or the slurp of a soba noodle, he would. Izuku Midoriya, on the other hand, could talk almost constantly, whether it was about heroes, strategy, or his favorite subject, his boyfriend. All in all, Uraraka Ochako thought as she stood in a(frankly quite beautiful) pearl pink bridesmaid dress in the middle of the altar, it was going to be a very interesting wedding.     In front of her was one of two of the most lovestruck fools she’d ever had the pleasure of meeting(and consequently getting together.) Izuku looked like he practically had a whole novel in his suit pocket, and he was frantically muttering to himself. “And if I- Ochako, is it gonna be weird if I tell him his hair looks fluttery?” Ochako could’ve cried with relief when she suddenly spotted a familiar face.     “You better figure it out fast, loverboy, because he’s walking up the aisle right now.” The resulting screech that came from Izuku was so hilarious that Ochako almost wished she could’ve set it as her ringtone.     Todoroki Shouto, as stoic as ever, stood in front of his future husband in the most well-fitted white and blue tux Ochako had ever seen. His long hair was tied back in a beautiful braided style(Momo must’ve done it for him, the best he could manage was a messy bun on the best of days.) All in all, poor Izuku looked like a gay, nervous wreck(so, same as usual.)     “Todoroki Shouto-” Midoriya stuttered frantically, fingers slipping on the pages(oh god, so many pages) of his vows. “I can’t say I loved you from the moment we met, but I think it was pretty close- oh god I thought I cut this part I’m rambling shit gimme a sec-”     “Izuku.” Shouto’s calm voice cut through Izuku’s frantic muttering. “It’s okay.” Izuku trailed off and looked into Todoroki’s eyes. “I know words mean a lot to you, and if you want to read all of those, you can. But please, don’t drive yourself crazy figuring out what to say.”     “Shouto…” Midoriya looked close to tears, and Ochako wasn’t close behind. Shouto smiled gently.     “You already said everything I ever needed to hear when we fought at the sports festival in our first year. You saw me as a person, not just a pawn in my father’s shadow. You believed that I could be more than I ever thought I would.” Izuku’s vows went fluttering, forgotten, to the ground as Shouto took his hands. “I love you, Izuku. And I want to be with you forever.” Tears shone at the corners of his eyes, mirroring Izuku’s full on weeping.     “I love you too, Shouto.” Ochako didn’t think there was a dry eye in the house at this point, including her own. Izuku smiled, standing up a little straighter(so to speak.) “So… are we getting married or not?”     Shouto smiled back, taking a deep breath. “I’d like that.”     “In that case… you may now kiss the groom.” The guests cheered loudly as Izuku swept Shouto off his feet, kissing him soundly.“Don’t worry,” Shouto muttered into Izuku’s ear, smirking slightly. “You can read me your vows later.” Izuku somehow got even redder, his blushing face contrasting fiercely with his hair. Ochako grinned. Damn, I didn’t know Shouto had game! And as they broke apart, the audience cheering and chucking flowers in the air with reckless abandon, the look on Shouto’s face said more than words ever could.
