Nineteen years ago Jeon Jungkook was conceived by a one night mistake between opposing sides. He’s lived on a boarder his whole life.

He grew up in a forest in the middle of nowhere, in the west is his mother’s coven. A big, largely glass, mansion sits there for them. He’s grown up halfway there, halfway in a small village to the east where his father’s pack resides.

Jungkook is half vampire half werewolf, he’s able to mate but he doesn’t have a rank like the other wolves, he’s able to live forever but he still grows to 20, if he mates he’ll keep growing but once his next birthday comes he’ll stop aging.

Hybrids are highly revered, it’s why his mother’s coven relocated in the first place. While they’re rare, because vampires and werewolves are physically repulsed by each other, they’re sought after. It’s the only species whose power can hold a candle to a witch.

Jungkook whimpers as his back hits the tree, he growls and shakes his fur as he stands back up. The wolf in front of him has it’s head down, tail up and wagging.

Jungkook forms back to his human state and takes the wolf down with one swift move of its feet.

Another wolf to his right charges at him but he easily pushes it away across the dirt.

He laughs and his friends form back too, smiling at him.

“Jungkook!”

He raises his head to his father’s mate that taps her wrist to remind him. Jungkook curses under his breath when he looks down at sees how dirty he is.

He jogs to his cabin and grabs the clothes laid out for him, flannel, a corduroy jacket, jeans and boots. It’s how everyone in the village dressed.

He waves everyone goodbye after getting dressed, shoving his hands in his pockets as he treks to the other side of the forest. The air gets colder when he crosses the border.

Luck, his mother’s right hand, is waiting by the door of the mansion when he arrives. She opens it for him, nodding as a greeting and he nods back. Vampires were quiet people, no need to speak unless necessary, which most of the time Jungkook appreciated.

He nods at the couple he passes in the corridor and they nod back before continuing to walk together in silence. Jungkook slowly walks up the steps down a couple hallways and to the end when he finally gets to his room.

He shuts it behind himself, knowing Luck is long gone to tell his mother he’s home. He strips and throws his clothes on a velvet chair, going to his closet and carefully putting on more expensive looking clothes.

He leaves his shirt and pants unbuttoned and goes to his vanity to clean his face and style his hair from it’s shaggy mess it had been all day. Jungkook sighs as he unplugs his phone, taking it off the side table where he left it, and finishes getting dressed.

He grips it tight in his hand as he makes his way back downstairs to the back of the manor, where the large dining room table is. Everyone is seated, ready for dinner, they all have their wine glasses and then their other cups with blood ready.

He always eats what he wants though, which makes their chef Jin grateful even when all he wants is a grilled cheese.

His mother says a short hello to him and he does the same back. He asks her small questions for her to give easy answers and the others sit in comfortable silence, fine with just listening to them.

This has been almost everyday since birth, when the sun is up, the pack gets him, when it’s night the coven does. He sleeps maybe a total of five days throughout a year and it lasts night and day so there’s no fighting over the time he sleeps and who gets him.

He doesn’t know a life without tension, one day he won’t be able to live between both worlds. When a mate comes, he’ll have to live a life with his pack. Unless the coven could somehow change that.

----- CHAPTER BREAK -----

“Sun down is getting close.” his stepmother mumbles and his dad sighs.

Jungkook looks at them apologetically, “sorry, today was good.”

The village did a big bonfire and feast with the pack’s last hunting trip catches because they got more than necessary. Jungkook ate with his family and played with the pups that got to run around and chase after him.

They liked Jungkook’s scent the most so they clung to him when he returned to the village in the day. The closest thing to pups in the coven are newborns around his age, and they’re not nearly as fun to be around.

He looks up to the sky and sees it turning purple so he reluctantly gets up and wipes off the back of his jeans. It’s not night time but it’s better to get back to the coven because today he’s in desperate need of shower.

That’s another difference with him and the pack, sometimes he can’t stand dirt. He’s fine in the moment when he’s play wrestling but when it ends he counts down until he can get back in the coven in his warm luxurious shower.

He’s heard the others complain loudly when their moms tell them they need to bathe and couldn’t relate.

“I’ll see you tomorrow.” they wave him goodbye solemnly and he starts his journey back west.

The air gets chillier, the leaves stop covering the ground and the sky darkens. He squints his eyes when he hears a car park, the coven only leaves grounds to get blood but it’s not time for that weekly trip.

He pushes back a branch as he steps on the long driveway. There’s a sleek black car parked in front of the manor’s steps, a vampire steps out and goes to the back of the car, opening the door for someone else.

Jungkook carefully walks closer to get a good view of the boy stepping out, he’s shorter but his face is sharper than Jungkook’s. His hair is so blonde it’s almost silver or purple. He takes off his sunglasses and looks directly at Jungkook, giving him a small smile.

“Jimin.”

Jimin and him both look away simultaneously to see Jungkook’s mother standing at the top of the steps.

“Welcome, i’m so glad you could join us.” she adds, making her way down to the blonde.

He gives her the same charming smile and she calls over her son. Jungkook looks between them with curious eyes but takes down his hoodie and makes his way over. Jimin doesn’t smell anything like a newborn and his eyes aren’t red.

“Jungkook, this is Jimin he’s new to the coven, Jimin this is my son Jungkook.”

Jungkook outstretches a hand, forgetting he’s covered in dirt for a second before quickly dropping it, “I wasn’t aware we took in new members.”

“Our mothers are good friends.” Jimin says softly.

He shares a sly look with Jungkook’s mother and Jungkook asks the question with his eyes to her, what was she planning?

Without another word his mother and Jimin ascend back up the steps inside, the driver trailing after them with Jimin’s bags. Jungkook furrows his eyebrows before jogging up the steps too and speeding to his bedroom to jump straight in his shower.

He groans happily when the hot water his skin and the grime peels off, leaving a soft exterior that smells much better. He takes a second to remember how Jimin smelled. Vampires don’t focus so much on scent as werewolves but they don’t particularly like any strong scents.

Jimin smelled just faintly like oranges, Jungkook bites his lip while he stares off and thinks about the new arrival. But pretty soon he shuts off the shower and walks back out to his bedroom where an outfit is laid out for him.

It’s not often but occasionally his mother does want to pick out something certain for him or she bought it herself and wants to see him in it, so he doesn’t question it while he gets his face ready and puts on the clothes.

He slides on a black turtleneck, pushes away the black slacks and puts on black jeans instead, she won’t say anything about it anyway. A grey wool jacket is left beside it, he assumes because sometimes he gets cold in the house, but he feels fine right now so he just hangs it over his arm and makes his way downstairs to the dining table.

Jimin is sitting across where he usually sits and his mother is sitting at the end of the table as always right beside his chair. Jimin gives a smile in greeting so he nods back, softly plopping down and diving into his pancakes.

He looks up mid bite to Jimin watching him with amusement but quickly looking away when Jungkook catches him. Jungkook wipes the smeared syrup with his napkin and looks back down too until his mother asks about his time in the village today.

He catches Jimin turn back to listen along with other coven members but for whatever reason he can’t help looking between his mother and Jimin as he talks, as if he’s telling the story to them both.

Dinner ends and he rises, ready to curl into the study’s couch and grab a book, maybe talk Jin into making him some hot chocolate. But he glances down at the coat still in his hands and decides a walk in the garden would be better first.

He tells his mother he’ll see her later and walks through the mansion, past the kitchen to the back door into their large garden lit up with fairy lights hung all over.

A few others are walking around, one is on a bench reading, he looks around and can’t spot Jimin so he assumes the other is exploring the rest of the house.

Maybe, he thinks, he could show Jimin the garden himself. He tilts his head, shoving his hands in his pockets.

Jungkook spins back around to the door to go find the blonde but freezes when a loud howl rings in his ear. A few vampires murmur to themselves in confusion and look at Jungkook.

Jungkook pushes past them, running around the manor to the driveway and speeding back into the forest. Someone’s stepped in their territory uninvited and even though he’s technically not allowed to help at this time it’s part of the pack’s duty to come when the howl sounds.

He comes up to the border but stops when he smells oranges. He looks down the way it’s coming from and walks along the line, no sign of anyone anywhere though.

“Hey, did you hear that howl?”

Jungkook blinks and turns around to Jimin looking at him questioningly.

His shoulders sag with relief, “Jimin, this is the border, you can’t be here.”

“Border?” Jimin asks with squinted eyes.

A growl from behind Jimin echoes and the blonde calmly looks over his shoulder. A werewolf up to his shoulders has his eyes trained on Jimin with another two wolves behind him.

“Need something?” Jimin asks, eyes turning dangerously red already but still not bothering to turn his body completely around.

“This is the border between the coven and the pack, you overstepped the boundary,” Jungkook tells him quietly before turning his attention to his pack, “he’s new to the coven he didn’t know.”

The wolf still growls again so Jimin finally turns all the way to it. An alpha, from what he could tell but it didn’t matter because very rarely could any werewolf even in animal form take a vampire.

They only smelled one intruder but three wolves came, Jimin smirks at them and takes a step forward but Jungkook grabs his arm. The hybrid gives his pack mates a look Jimin doesn’t catch and they back off.

The bigger huffs and reluctantly trudges after the others back to the village. He’ll get questions tomorrow, he realizes, and sighs.

Jimin turns back to him with his arms crossed and a small smile again, “what happens if a wolf crosses our territory?”

Jungkook shrugs, “doesn’t happen, but if it did the coven probably wouldn’t notice.”

“Then what’s the point of the territory?” he asks and starts walking back with Jungkook at his side.

“Imagine if it was witches on the other side, wouldn’t you be sceptical of them coming near the manor?” he nods up the building coming in view.

Jimin shakes his head, “vampires and witches are on good terms where I come from.”

Jungkook’s eyebrows raise in surprises, “really?”

“I’m from a city, we tend to be a little more chill about those type of things.”

Jungkook pauses when they get to the steps making Jimin stop too and look back at him, “what?”

“Have you seen the garden?”

Jimin tilts his head, eyes turning up with a big smile, “I wouldn’t mind seeing it again.”

----- CHAPTER BREAK -----

Jungkook ducks his head as he passes the cabin not that she wouldn’t be able to smell him. Arian pops out in front of him and he holds back his groan.

“You haven’t been to the pups tent in a while.” she says, trying to sound cute with a pout.

He looks at the omega with a blank face, “I was busy today with security, i’ll be sure to visit tomorrow.”

He brushes past her without another word, that would be his stepmother’s choice for his mate, a nice little omega. His father thinks an alpha would be better suited since Jungkook had always tended to cling to them more.

His mother and the coven, thinks no mate would be

best

for him. Jungkook is well balanced and fit to take over the coven when he stops aging. Mates/ partners weren’t much concern to vampires, they can go centuries alone.

It weighs on werewolves to be alone, it’s why they have packs in the first place, it’s to have close personal connections. Vampires have covens because it’s logical, safety wise.

Jungkook differs between the spectrums of the creatures when it comes to loneliness, some days it’s like all his wolf wants is a partner and he’ll be satisfied. Some days he’s counting down seconds until he can come back to the coven and lock himself away in the library alone.

Most of the time he’s pretty neutral, that’s how it was before mating season started sneaking up. He’s of age this year, it’s the first year he’ll be able to mate, to choose someone for life like all werewolves do.

Jungkook is the strongest and smartest wolf in the pack, he’s the prize to every eligible omega, alpha, and beta. He’s a piece of meat.

Jungkook shakes his head with a shiver and pulls over his hood.

“Why do you always return dirty?”

Jimin is leaning against a black and leafless tree as Jungkook crosses over to the manor. The hybrid looks down at his ripped, stained t-shirt and roughed up jeans with a sigh.

“Werewolves like to play that way.” it comes out in such a way Jungkook sounds like he’s not a werewolf like his pack, making him cringe slightly.

“They play everyday?” he asks when Jungkook steps closer to him.

Jungkook nods, “we’re very high energy creatures.”

Jimin hums and crosses his arms, “sounds exhausting.”

“Can be.” Jungkook takes his movement as trying to create a barrier in between them and steps back, turning to go back to the manor.

“Why don’t you show me?” Jimin calls before he can even step on the concrete driveway.

Jungkook looks back at him over his shoulder, “you’d want to fight a hybrid?”

Jimin smiles in amusement, “my pride isn’t so big that I couldn’t attempt - besides you obviously find it fun, I want to know why.”

Jungkook looks him up and down, “we’ll make a deal.”

Jimin tilts his head in question.

“Let me clean up, get changed into something more proper and i’ll fight you in the vampire way.”

“What’s the difference?” vampires don’t fight for fun, only if there's a threat so Jimin imagines vampire play fighting won’t be much different.

Jungkook smiles now, “there’s a chance you could beat me in my wolf form and I don’t think you need the ego boost.”

Jimin’s own smile widens as the other turns back and speeds into the house. Jungkook quickly showers, maybe rushes it a little because he’s never been able to fight a vampire for real, outside of basic training when he was younger.

He combs frizzy hair down and speeds through his makeup, throwing on ripped tight jeans he wouldn’t be able to wear to the village because they would make fun of him, and he can’t wear to something like dinner because it’s not formal enough.

But he does but on a more fashionable long sleeve shirt, black velvet with bell sleeves.

He can’t wear long earrings around the pack because they’re not cautious and even a stud could get ripped out of his ear. He’s seen Jimin with similar earrings so he shrugs and puts some in.

Jungkook pushes open his bedroom door and races down the steps ungracefully, some of the other coven members look at him disapprovingly.

“Headed out?” he spins around to his mother looking at him with raised eyebrows.

He holds his hand behind his back and says yes, “i’m going to go spend some time with Jimin.”

She seems pleased and nods once, “don’t be late for dinner.”

He turns back around and leaves the manor, jogging down the steps to where Jimin is still waiting and looking around. He hears the footsteps on the concrete and turns back to the hybrid with a smirk, looking over Jungkook appraisingly.

Jimin takes off his jacket, climbs up a tree halfway and leaves it over a branch. He jumps back down and looks at Jungkook challengingly, gesturing for him to start.

Jungkook shakes his head and nods at him to start making Jimin laugh but lunge for the hybrid.

Jungkook steps aside at the last second, his reflexes are better when it comes to his vampire side he realizes when he grabs Jimin’s arm on instinct.

Jimin seems to expect it, he cartwheels around the other in a flash and grabs Jungkook’s ankle, making him trip and fall back on his butt. Jungkook huffs and speeds up but he can’t make any attack because Jimin is gone from him view.

An arm wraps around his neck and pulls him down, making the hybrid growl. He twists as much as he can, managing to wrap his own leg around Jimin’s thigh.

He pulls and trips Jimin this time, but he grabs the smaller’s hips in his super speed and pushes him against a tree.

He’s got a hand around Jimin’s throat before he knows it but pauses and doesn’t make any movement to push harder when he sees the reflection of his now glowing red eyes in Jimin’s pupils.

He watches in awe as Jimin realizes his eyes too and his own start to bleed red too. The vampire softly wraps a hand around Jungkook’s wrist but not so softly rips it away and knees him so hard he falls on his back.

Jimin follows him and lands on his stomach, straddling it, and pushing his own hair back with his hand.

“You let me win.” Jimin says teasingly with a fond smile.

Jungkook licks his lip, breathing heavily, “maybe I was distracted.”

Jimin’s smile gets smaller into an amused one as he looks at the boy under him curiously with a tilted head.

The vampire sighs and gets up, starting to head back to the manor, “come on, i’m hungry.”

Jungkook closes his eyes and drops his head back on the ground as he tries to catch his breath.

----- CHAPTER BREAK -----

Jungkook pushes his back against the wall of the dark hallway, holding his breath so only his heartbeat would be susceptible to a vampire’s ears. He slides against the wall until he comes to the corner and peeks his head around.

There’s no blonde hair in sight so he crouches down and sneaks up a staircase that leads to the west wing, close to where his mother’s room is. The hybrid listens for nearby steps, when he doesn’t hear any he makes a run for the next closest hallway.

But before he can run into any room something hits his back, legs squeezing his sides and arms wrapping around his neck.

“You’re it.” Jimin says teasingly, he jumps off Jungkook and runs away.

Jungkook looks back behind himself to the empty space and shakes his head but doesn’t bother pushing down his smile. He jumps over the big staircase to the main floor and looks around for Jimin.

Other coven members passively look at him, not used to commotion in the house. Jungkook closes his head and tips up his head, trusting his nose to seek out the smell of oranges.

His smile widens as he opens his eyes back up and jumps up to the big gargoyles that are looming over the large entrance room of the manor. He pushes Jimin off where he was hiding behind one and the vampire lands on the marble floor, crouched down, one hand balancing himself.

Jimin looks back up at him with narrowed eyes and pursed lips.

“Tag.” Jungkook calls smugly before jumping back down and speeding off to the other wing of the mansion.

He comes to a stop in his room, quickly shutting the doors and backing up from them as he waits for them to bust open.

“I’m starting to think you want to get caught.”

Jungkook whips around to Jimin smirking at him from his open balcony. Jungkook licks his lips with his own smile as Jimin saunters in past the curtains, shimmying because of the wind.

Jungkook’s eyes catch the sneaking of the sun beginning to rise over Jimin’s shoulder and his face falls. Jimin’s smirk drops too at the hybrid’s own expression and looks back at the sunrise, understanding passing over his features.

Jimin nods, “guess you win then.”

Jungkook swallows and looks down, “we’ll start a new game when I get back.”

“Sure.” Jimin responds quietly and brushes past him out of the room, shutting the door softly behind him.

Jungkook puts his hands in his pocket and kicks at nothing with a sigh. Him and Jimin have been getting really close lately, usually they don’t play games though.

They sit in silence while reading, tour the garden while listening to nice music, every once in while he’ll ask Jungkook about the story behind the pack and coven deal and border.

He doesn’t ask too much about the pack, which Jungkook can understand because werewolves are a boring subject to most vampires. Mostly being friends with Jimin is like being alone because he’s so quiet but it also fills that space his wolf side needs when it comes to companionship.

Jungkook sags when he remembers that side, because that side of himself will only get stronger now that mating season has come around. He’ll have to find a mate to satisfy that side and for that to happen he has to actually consider a pack mate as something more.

He thinks it over on the way over to the east side of the forest. There’s Yugyeom, he thinks, his beta friend he plays a lot with. Yugyeom smells nice and they know each other well.

Jungkook shrugs and sniffs, stepping onto a bridge in the village built in front of the cabins. Arian, that omega who runs the pup tent sometimes is probably too whiny.

He connects well with alphas but he’s never quite been attracted to them.

They carry too much pride in a way Jungkook isn’t comfortable being around for long periods of time. He wants someone good with pups, and someone quiet like himself.

He bites his lip and stops walking,

someone intellectual who’s good at strategy probably wouldn’t be too much to ask.

Jungkook twitches his head with another sigh and looks up as people start to leave their homes to get working and socializing.

“Hey.” he nods at his dad coming up to him, holding hands with his own mate.

His dad smiles brightly at him, “you seemed troubled when you came in?”

“Ah,” Jungkook looks away sheepishly, “just worried about mating season this year.”

His dad waves him off, “you don’t even need to sweat it, mating is a natural process, it’s something you just know when you meet the right wolf.”

Jungkook tries to agree with a quick reassuring smile, but he’s met every wolf in the pack and truth be told he imagine cant coming to bed at night with any of them.

A girl calls his name and he looks around his dad stepmom to a group of his friends standing by the trees, they gesture him over, they must want to go running. They’re his age, so it’s a new found right they get when they’re of age to explore the forest more.

Jungkook himself turns of age the week coming up and with that comes a wolf’s traditional hunting trip. It’s the first time in his life he’ll be spending the night outside of the coven’s territory.

“I’ll be back before sunrise to see you guys.” he says as he turns back to them.

His stepmom shakes her head, “you worry too much, just go have fun.”

He waves goodbye to them and falls forward as he forms into his wolf, his friends do the same after they see him and run into the forest for him to catch up.

“Hey, how long have you been here?” Jungkook asks and brings down his phone to look beside himself on the couch to Jimin.

The vampire lowers his book to look at him, “a couple months I think, why?”

“Hmm,” he looks down at the wine glass of blood in Jimin’s hand, “seems like longer.”

Jimin brings his feet up on the couch to sit on them, looking at the glass too.

“Did you want some?” he offers the cup to the hybrid and Jungkook blinks before rapidly shaking his head.

“No, no, I don’t drink blood.” he waves his hand.

Jimin raises his eyebrows in surprise, “you’ve never had it?”

Jungkook scratches the back of his neck, “well when I was a kid yeah, but the pack didn’t like me doing it so I stopped bringing it over and eventually stopped drinking it all together.”

“Well,” Jimin tilts his head with a small grin, “the packs not around right now.”

Jungkook huffs a laugh but looks at the glass again, then back up to Jimin’s expectant face. He sits up and swallows hard.

“It wouldn’t kill me to have a sip I guess.” he agrees and Jimin’s smile widens, he hands the glass right over and scoots closer to Jungkook.

The hybrid hesitantly takes it and watches Jimin’s expression as he raises it to his mouth. Jimin keeps his eyes trained on the movement with rapt attention.

The tip of the glass presses against his lips and tilts until the liquid can touch his taste buds. Jimin’s leans his head on his hand propped up by the back of the couch and smirks at Jungkook’s eyes filling red and the hybrid downing the rest of the glass like a shot.

Jungkook gasps when he pulls the empty cup away and he looks at Jimin with hungry eyes.

“Can I have more?”

Jimin giggles, eyes crinkling, “unfortunately that was all the blood of mine for today, but if you’re that hungry I can ask Jin-”

“No,” Jungkook takes a deep breath, “it’s fine, I can just eat some food.”

He jumps up to speed to the kitchen but Jimin quickly grabs his wrist and pulls him back down on the couch.

Jimin looks away, contemplating for a second and then looks back at him, “I have an idea.”

He questions the vampire with his eyes silently while Jimin raises his wrist and bites down on it, making Jungkook flinch as some blood sprays on the blonde’s cheek. Jimin pulls back and offers it to Jungkook who looks between the bloody wrist and Jimin’s face.

“You want me to drink from you?” he asks incredulously.

Jimin forces down a laugh and nods, “it tastes just as good as human, I promise.”

Jungkook opens his mouth to refuse but can already see Jimin’s bites healing and feels a twist in his stomach so he takes the wrist with a sigh, glancing at Jimin before covering the wounds with his mouth.

He closes his eyes and tilts his head to suck harder as the euphoria of blood straight from the vein washes over him. Jimin makes a small noise like a moan he tried to push down so Jungkook pulls back.

He almost asks what that was but decides against when he sees how blown out and red Jimin’s eyes are. Jungkook looks at him in awe for a few seconds before pushing up his own sleeve and outstretching his arm.

“You should drink too, I kind of stole your drink.” he can feel in his gut feeding from another vampire is intimate but he’s hungry and can’t bring himself to care with Jimin.

Jimin shakes his head but Jungkook gives him a hard look at tells him again to do it.

Jimin finally agrees with a sigh and looks at Jungkook’s wrist, waiting, so Jungkook shoves it towards the vampire again.

The blonde turns pink slightly and looks at him, “Jungkook, I can’t bite you myself, it’s like a…mark, the bites will stay and that’s for vampires

really close.”

Jungkook turns pink too and nods in understanding before bringing his arm back to himself and biting down. He holds back a whimper, he’s had worse pain but it’s still not a great feeling.

Jimin gently takes his arm and brings it up to his mouth, sucking hard on the wounds and Jungkook suddenly realizes why Jimin couldn’t hold in that moan. The sight is extremely erotic itself, but the

feeling.

He could argue it feels even better than drinking blood himself. And that thought reminds him, he looks back at Jimin’s dripping wrist and growls, attaching his lips right on it again.

Jimin lets out another, louder but short moan and crawls up on his knees to get closer to Jungkook who uses his free hand to hold Jimin’s waist.

The vampire releases Jungkook’s wrist at the same time the hybrid releases his, they seem to have the same idea because Jimin grabs his face with both hands and Jungkook grips his hips.

Jimin smashes his lips against Jungkook’s messily, blood smearing between them. Jimin tosses a leg over his lap to hover over his thigh and presses him back into the couch cushions.

Jungkook pulls back an inch to take a breath before kissing him again as Jimin scrapes his nails against the hybrid’s scalp. Jungkook groans and runs his hands up Jimin’s sides under his shirt, pushing the vampire to lay back on the couch.

The smaller’s legs unconsciously open wider and their crotches rub together, immediately making them rip apart with a whimper and a moan.

Jungkook drops his head to lay on Jimin’s shoulder and catch his breath. Jimin lets him take a second but eventually pushes up so they’re both sitting again, they look at each other in a moment of silence before Jimin gives him his usual amused smile.

“I’ll see you when you get back, Kookie.” he makes a show of wiping his bloodied up lip with his thumb and getting up from the couch, walking out of the study.

Jimin wipes his mouth fully with the back of his hand and goes out into the hall. He starts his way up the steps and glances at Jungkook’s mom who’s on the steps as well with Luck.

He smirks at her and she gives him an approving nod with a secret smile in her eyes as he walks past her to his bedroom.

----- CHAPTER BREAK -----

The hunting ground isn’t far from the village, in his wolf form it takes a maybe half a day for them to get up the mountain. His friends, his dad and stepmom came along. There was a long debate over more people traveling with him because he’s their first hybrid reaching age, but he adamantly refused.

His mom sent him off at the border before hand along with Luck, Jungkook hadn’t seen Jimin since the night before, after their

feeding.

Jungkook gets first kill, by tradition. The other pack members hang back when he travels away from their campsite and searches for a animal expected of a hybrid to kill. A bear would be too obvious and a deer is too small, he puts his nose to the ground and catches scent of something but before he can trace a growl comes from a few feet away.

He raises his head slightly and sees a mountain lion standing proudly on a boulder. He’s clearly challenging Jungkook by the look in his eyes and his teeth being barred.

There’s a lot barbaric things the pack does that he could definitely live without, but that want of taking a life, he doesn’t mind a bit because it’s not subject to only werewolves and their prey. Even if vampires don’t show it so obviously, he would argue vampires had a stronger need to kill.

He takes a step forward, knowing that would make the animal charge. When it does Jungkook dodges and easily knocks it to the ground, quickly to burying his teeth in it’s neck to make it as painless as possible.

A sick part of him finds joy in it’s pathetic whimper. He gets a flashing image of Jimin biting into his own wrist and then another of his own fangs brushing against Jimin’s skin.

Jungkook pulls away and swallows the blood still on his tongue before locking his teeth on the lion again to drag it back to everyone else. They jog up to him happily, some bumping him as a congratulations.

He leaves the lion there because they’ll use that to pile their own catches and take back to the village. Jungkook waits for some to start going into the forest and forms back to his vampire state, pulling on the clothes he came in.

The hybrid leaves them to sit on a lone fallen tree branch, he closes his eyes and listens for all the different sounds around. It’s much more clear in this state, when he turns into a wolf it’s almost like a film has been placed over his ear.

“Nice catch.”

He opens his eyes back and looks over to yugyeom sitting beside him, impressed smile in place.

Jungkook nods once, “thanks, you’re not hunting?”

“Nah, won’t be good with everyone else hunting right now.” he licks his lips and leans back on his hands.

Jungkook tracks the movement of his tongue and another flash of Jimin’s blood smeared lips comes to the front of his head. Yugyeom quirks an eyebrow when he notices Jungkook’s lost trance on his mouth.

“Did you have a rut yet?” he asks quietly.

Jungkook blinks and then turns red, looking back up to Yugyeom’s eyes, “n-no, I don’t even know if I get that.”

His friend places a hand on his leg softly and slides a hand around the side of his neck, pulling them closer. Jungkook looks back down at his lips blankly and throws his thoughts aside as he leans down slightly and kisses the beta.

His eye lids slip down, Yugyeom’s grip tightens on his thigh and he pushes against Jungkook’s chest with his own.

Jungkook’s eyes snap back open with the lingering feeling of Jimin’s hands in his hair and his weight in Jungkook’s lap. He pulls away from Yugyeom and looks his friend up and down before speeding off away from the campsite.

He wipes his lips with the bottom of his shirt and kicks at dirt with a frown. How can he have a mate if everytime he kisses them he thinks of Jimin? Yugyeom didn’t deserve that anyway, coming from a hybrid or not.

He crawls up a tree to a stack of rocks that hold one big boulder and plops his back down on it. He stares up at the sky with a blank mind until it begins to dim. He starts to get antsy when the sun is completely down.

He’s used to being in the nice manor, laying down on plush couches or being in his soft silky clothes. It’s not the end of the world, he’s not high maintenance or anything but he’s not going to deny living in the manor was what he would prefer to the dirty woods.

He rises on his elbows with a sigh and checks over his shoulder, seeing the fire a little ways away where his pack members have set up.

                                           _____________________

Jimin takes a big gulp of his wine and smirks, glancing down and tilting his head slightly.

“You’re back early.” he says smugly.

Jungkook comes up behind him, leaning against Jimin’s bedroom balcony and biting his lip, “technically i’m not supposed to be here right now, so if anyone asks i’m not.”

“So why are you?” he downs the rest of the glass and sets it on the balcony railing before looking over at the hybrid.

“You didn’t say goodbye to me.” Jungkook says softly and stands back up, moving closer to him.

Jimin hums, “I thought last night was a pretty suffice goodbye.”

Jungkook grabs his hips, sighing when Jimin’s hands run up his chest, “it wasn’t enough.”

Jungkook swiftly locks their lips together and tilts his head for a deeper kiss. Jimin hums again happily and runs his fingers back through Jungkook’s hair.

“I wanna bite you.” Jungkook mumbles against his lips in frustration.

Jimin licks his bottom lip and pushes his tongue into his mouth and kisses with much more passion before pulling back, making Jungkook growl, “not tonight.”

Jungkook scowls and almost glares at him, “why not?”

“You should get back, Jungkook, it’s late someone from the pack is bound to notice.” he looks back down reluctantly and drops his hands.

Jungkook watches him and waits for a different reaction, “that’s it then?”

Jimin can’t stop the smile that creeps up, he looks back up at Jungkook fondly and reaches on his toes, taking Jungkook’s face in his hands and kissing the younger again much more softly and quickly.

“Be careful on the way back, i’ll see you in a couple days.”

Jungkook waits again but when Jimin makes no more moves he nods and jumps down over the balcony, speeding off into the forest again.

Jimin lightly touches his lips with his fingers and goes back in his room, grabbing for the wine bottle, “you can come in now.”

His bedroom door swings open slowly and Jungkook’s mother leans against the doorway with an elated expression, “sorry to eavesdrop.”

“I understand.” Jimin responds as he empties the bottle in his glass.

Jungkook’s mother laughs disbelievingly, “he came all the way here just to see you for a couple minutes.”

“He kissed someone else.” Jimin says against his glass, eyes trained on the walls as he thinks.

Her mood doesn’t alter a bit, “he still came to you.”

Jimin smiles too, “he wants to mark me.”

“I knew you wouldn’t disappoint, I can’t thank you enough.”

Jimin sits on a loveseat by the bed, “I should be thanking you, I like him.”

“I didn’t doubt you would.”

     “You were gone a while.”

Jungkook is stopped just outside the camp by his dad who’s looking at him in concern.

“I didn’t realize how late it was, sorry I lost my kill.” Jungkook shrugs and tries to brush past him but he’s stopped again.

His dad looks at him suspiciously so his raises his eyebrows making his dad sag slightly, “are you…feeling homesick?”

Jungkook laughs and pats his dad’s shoulder, “the pack is my family, relax i’m fine.”

His smile drops when he’s out of sight of his dad and he’s back around the sleeping wolves around the site. His dad scowls and watches him, the scent of an unfamiliar vampire that lingers on his son’s clothes still in his nose.

----- CHAPTER BREAK -----

Jimin’s back hits the mattress and it causes the headboard to slam against the wall to let everyone in the manor know something was going on in Jungkook’s bedroom. Neither can focus on that though when they’re so lost in each other.

“Sun’s coming up.” Jimin gets out in between kisses.

“Mm.” he can’t tell if Jungkook hummed in agreeance or moaned.

Jimin unconsciously lets out a whimper when Jungkook bites his lip, he slips his hands on Jungkook’s cheeks around his neck and pulls him closer, tilting his head for the kiss to go deeper.

Jungkook hasn’t kept his hands off Jimin all night, he’s getting progressively more aggressive too. The hybrid squeezes his hips and pushes him further into the bed. He spreads his hands around any place he can reach on Jimin shamelessly.

Jimin pushes him away but Jungkook pushes back and reattaches their lips so the vampire shoves him harder enough to get him on his back.

Jungkook lunges and touches his lips with Jimin’s again but it’s not long enough for a kiss because Jimin pushes him down again. He sighs when he sees the hybrid’s bright red eyes.

“You’re hungry.” Jimin mumbles and takes one hand from Jungkook’s chest, lifting it to his mouth.

Jungkook swiftly grabs it and pulls it down, placing a messy kiss on his wrist, “let me bite you.”

Jimin slips his hand down in Jungkook’s tight grasp to press his fingers to the other’s lips.

“Not yet,” he frowns when Jungkook growls, “it’s permanent Jungkook, and a claim, it’s almost as serious as a mating.”

That makes Jungkook freeze, he blinks up at Jimin then looks over to the window. He just now realizes the sun has come up and curses himself for being late.

“Wait, you haven’t fed.” he stops the hybrid before he can move and bites his own wrist, holding it up over Jungkook’s lips.

Jungkook takes it without hesitation this time, holding his arm carefully like it was something precious and sucking hard until Jimin can see his eyes start to dim. He gently takes his arm away and Jungkook takes a deep breath, licking his lips.

His hands rest on the back on Jimin’s thighs now and they both listen to his heart rate slowly go down.

“I have to go.” Jungkook says under his breath.

Jimin huffs and plops his head down on Jungkook’s chest, “you’re already late, you can afford a little longer.”

Jungkook opens his mouth to protest but quickly realizes he doesn’t want to so he closes it back and keeps still while Jimin makes himself comfortable on top of the hybrid.

Jungkook doesn’t make it to the village that day.

----- CHAPTER BREAK -----

2 months earlier

The air gets more familiar and inviting the longer they drive, and when she looks out the window she recognize the streets she’s been away from too long. Kim Jisoon made a stupid mistake nineteen years ago, she doesn’t regret Jungkook if there’s anything she doesn’t regret it’s her son, but that night cost her the only home she knew.

The city was everything she needed, she steps out of her car as the driver opens her door and smiles at the full streets of different creatures, walking and minding their own business.

Even some werewolves lived here and they didn’t care one bit if their neighbor was a vampire or witch, they tend to be lone wolves because packs prefer the open woods. She didn’t mind these wolves that she could sit next to at a bar and talk about fashion with.

Namjoon is just where she left him, after she’s walked the steps of her old apartment and walks through the door, he’s sitting in the living room hunched over his computer, earphones shoved in while he’s typing away.

Everything around her looks the same, which makes her relieved and feel like she’s not been gone long.

“Jisoon.” Yoongi slowly glides down the staircase, wine glass in hand and a fond smile on his face when he sees her.

“Hi,” they hug tightly and she sighs, “I missed home so much.”

“Think it’s time to come back then?” he jokes, pulling away.

She frowns and snatches his wine glass away, plopping down next to Namjoon who still doesn’t glance at her, “you know the rules, no leaving the forest.”

“Mm, right, you have to follow the puppies orders.” Namjoon’s mouth twitches up at his words.

Her eyes narrow, “it’s not the pack I listen to, Jungkook wants to be with them and I can’t do anything about that.”

“He’s of age isn’t he?” Yoongi turns serious and looks at her solemnly.

“Soon,” Jisoon downs the rest of his drink, “the pack is pressuring him to find a mate.”

“So no more Jungkook for you.” Namjoon mumbles and she gives him a flat look.

She rolls her eyes and nods, “his wolf side needs a partner.”

“Can’t he find someone in the coven?”

“They’re too old for him, and he doesn’t speak to anyone.”

Yoongi finally sits down to on an ottoman across from them, “and after he finds a mate they won’t want to stay with the coven and Jungkook can’t leave their side after the bond.”

She agrees emotionless and stares down at her glass.

“If only there was a way the coven could get to him first.” Namjoon says sarcastically just as the front door opens.

Two pretty blonde and red haired vampires step into the foyer, “i’m home.”

The blonde one immediately strikes her curiosity, he’s graceful and swift in the way he moves and his features are elegant but there’s a glint of playfulness in his eyes.

“Who’s that?” she asks quietly to Yoongi.

Yoongi looks over his shoulder at them boredly, “Jimin and Hoseok, old vampires but they’re new to the city.”

She tilts her head and stares shamelessly at Jimin, the blonde feels the eyes on him and looks back to her, smiling as a greeting.

Present

“Mm,” Jungkook pecks him one more time before letting go of his waist, “I really have to go this time, you can’t cross the border.”

They’re right on the outside, Jungkook hasn’t been eager to get back and explain himself but he didn’t want to keep them waiting any longer, and Jimin hasn’t been making it easy on him.

He’s been clinging to the hybrid like crazy in the past 24 hours, word has had to have gotten around to his mother with Jimin pushing him against any available wall and kissing him right there.

“Fine but be quick.” Jimin pouts with his small hand still clutched tightly on Jungkook’s sleeve.

Jungkook gently removes it but squeezes it before letting it go, “i’ll be lucky if they don’t make me stay the night to make up for it.”

Jimin drops into a scowl, “yeah no, if you don’t come back at night fall i’m tracking you down myself.”

“Please don’t risk fighting my whole pack just because I have to spend a few extra hours with them,” he kisses Jimin’s cheek and pulls back fully again, stepping backwards across the boundary, “bye, i’ll see you later.”

“Before night fall!” Jimin calls as he walks away, making the hybrid chuckle.

When he steps in the village it’s silent and bare, no ones up yet which gives him some air at least. He walks along the bridge until he can see his father walking up, always early and waiting for his son.

Jungkook gives him a grave and apologetic face as they meet.

His dad shakes his head, surprisingly very calm, “you’re an adult, that comes with making your own decisions now.”

“Okay…” Jungkook squints and nods.

It’s only then he realizes Jimin’s scent is probably drenched all over him now and his father hasn’t made any comment. Jimin smells nice but there’s no way it could pass for a wolf’s, and he could only smell this much like someone else if they were intimate.

“Is there,” Jungkook scratches the back of his neck and cringes, “is there anything you want to talk about?”

“No, is there anything you want to talk about?” his dad asked with blank eyes and he shakes his head.

“Okay, then you can help me with the village's electricity, something’s wrong with it and I need you to fix the wiring you’re good at that.” his dad turns around and heads up the village to the utilities cabin.

When he follows in tow, everyone starts to come out and greet him, no one mentions his absence or act as if anything is different and he’s thoroughly confused but relieved.

The pack been severely strict about all the rules since his birth, the vampire didn’t care too much for the rules but the wolves only priority has always been keeping control of Jungkook.

It’s not strange for him to be asked for help with anything around the village, he helped with pups, cleaning, labor, cooking, hunting, so there shouldn’t have been this pit in his stomach when he brushed past his dad inside the cabin.

Everything looked normal, it wasn’t dark, it was just as dusty as it normally is. There’s cleaning supplies set up on the shelves and the generator, etc. set up around the small area.

“Come on, why are you looking around so suspiciously?” his dad gives him a weird look before waving him over to the electrical room.

He internally shrugs, glancing over his shoulder one more time before making his way across the room to the door, the old handle squeaks under his grip and he catches his dad backing up out of the corner of his eyes.

“Dad?” Jungkook stops and watches him trying to sneak back out.

His dad looks back at him blankly, “i’ll be back in a second, I think my omega is calling me.”

Jungkook’s eyebrows furrow when he slams the door of the cabin shut behind himself and his face falls when he hears the sound of a lock clicking. Jungkook curses under his breath and stomps to the door, jiggling it harshly enough for it to rock.

He’ll be able to break down the door eventually, but just as things couldn’t get worse, he hears a whimper. Jungkook stops his bullying of the door and blinks, listening again and hearing panting.

The electrical room door is cracked open, he slowly and carefully makes his way back over and peeks his head inside, pushing the door open lightly.

“Jesus.” Jungkook has to smack his hand over his nose and mouth to cover up the heavy scent of an omega in heat filling his lungs.

Arian is curled up against the wall on a blanket and small nest she’s created, he recognizes some jackets and hoodies he’s left here around her and feels sick. He imagines his dad providing them for her, maybe even luring her in the cabin with them.

“Alpha.”

she moans when they make eye contact, she shakily gets on her knees and starts crawling.

Jungkook stumbles back, almost falling on his ass but catching himself and hurriedly scampering to the other side of the cabin. It doesn’t deter her, she still goes after him, making him groan.

She gets in the middle of the room so he waits, giving her a smile to calm her down and that does make her pause. He takes the opportunity to shoot up and run to the electrical room, shutting the door behind himself and leaning against it.

He feels around in his pockets and almost cries, he didn’t bring his phone. The coven had no way to know he was in trouble. The hybrid jumps when there's a bang at the door and scratching.

The sweet and pungent smell of her seeps through the door, making him gag. Jungkook tucks his knees against his chest, setting his forehead on them while he processes what situation his own father has put him in.

Was the rest of the pack in on this too? Do they think he was just going to unrestrainedly jump the omega and mate her, forgetting his vampire side. He feels especially bad for not listening to it, vampires are very danger conscious, he should’ve listened to his instincts. He didn’t think he would have to in the pack though.

It’s a long time before the noises and begging stops and the sound of a door clicks, he slowly lifts his head with a scowl. The hybrid brushes his pants off as he gets up and pushes open the door, expecting his father and nonconsensual pimp.

Arian is gone, her scent lingers around and the obvious slick spot in front of the door he chooses to ignore. There’s no parent waiting in the room to release him, instead it’s Jihyoon, one of his alpha friends.

Jungkook blinks in surprise but quickly hardens when he realizes why the alpha is here, “are they sending a beta next?”

“Jungkook.” Jihyoon smirks, dark orbs increasing when the hybrid speaks.

Jungkook can smell his strong pheromones from across the room and he sighs. He slips off his jacket angrily and tosses it on the ground.

“I’m no omega, Jihyoon.” the alpha takes steps to him, intentions of dominating clear on his face.

Jungkook speeds to him, shoving him against the wall and not even flinching at the crack of his pack mates head. Jihyoon growls and his eyes start bleeding yellow, he wraps his fingers around Jungkook’s wrist, yanking roughly.

Jungkook doesn’t budge, instead bringing Jihyoon closer before shoving him back against the wall again until it cracks. Jungkook takes his throat in one hand and pushes him onto the floor, he’s no longer worried when the alpha dips his head on obvious submission.

The hybrid looks back to the dent in the cabin wall and twitches his head in annoyance before kicking it and kicking it again until a hole is made and he’s finally let out. It’s dark out, the suns already down and he hears his pack mates before he sees them.

There’s a stream of whimpers and howls, for a horrifying second he thinks they’re all omegas in heat and alphas in rut waiting for him to come out but when he walks down further in the village he sees the blood bath.

The first he sees is Jimin, sticking out with his blonde hair and blood dripping down half his face when he pulls away from the limp wolve’s throat. His mother and Jin aren’t faring much better around him with the pile they’re accumulating.

He sees his coven members coming in and out of homes, in search of him. Jungkook lifelessly makes his way to Jimin, stopping in front of the body between them.

Jimin, looking like a monster with his bright red eyes, gut splattered clothes and dark face, swipes his gaze up Jungkook’s body until they meet each other’s eyes.

“Jungkook.” he says under his breath, dropping the wolf carelessly and standing up to look at him properly.

Jungkook looks at him blankly and Jimin swallows, he takes the smaller’s hand and pulls him past the fight, past the village, past the woods, past the manor, “let’s leave.”

----- CHAPTER BREAK -----

The sun rises up their bed onto Jungkook’s face, blanketing him and pulling him out of his deep sleep. He cracks open his eyes and looks directly at it rising over the water, he pushes himself up with a groan and makes his way onto the balcony to watch the sun hit peak.

As he leans on the railing small hands travel from his bare back around to his chest.

Plush lips press against his arm lightly, “morning, good sleep?”

Jimin comes around to face him and leaves another kiss against the mark the vampire left himself on Jungkook’s neck about a month ago, grazing his teeth over it slowly.

Jungkook hums in response, closing his eyes to bask in the intimate touches of his mate. He cups Jimin’s hip and pulls the smaller in between himself and the balcony railing. Jimin gives him a soft smile when he leans down and kisses the vampire hard but slow with a comforting hand on the small of his back.

“You need to eat.” Jimin mumbles against his lips, pecking them one more time before pulling away and taking the hybrid’s wrist.

Jimin brings them through their room and downstairs into the common room of the house. Yoongi’s set up at the kitchen table already, surrounded by his papers and empty coffee cups.

He glances up for a split second at them before going back to scribbling, “you’re up, you should feed, your eyes are all red.”

“Hi hyung, it’s good to see you too.” Jungkook squeezes his shoulder and plops in the seat next to him.

“You were asleep for like two days drama queen, Hobi didn’t even have time to draw dicks on your face this time.” Yoongi smiles at him, making the younger smile back.

Jimin pulls out the burger and fries he picked up this morning and sets it in front of Jungkook who digs in like he’s been starved. Jimin pets his hair and sits himself on his mate’s lap, waiting until he’s inhaled the burger to offer his wrist.

Jungkook eyes it hungrily, ignoring the fries in favor of gripping his hand and pressing a messy kiss to his palm. He drags his lips down Jimin’s wrist, stopping abruptly and sinking his teeth in the smooth skin, save for Jungkook permanent bite left of Jimin’s wrist.

Jimin moans and holds his cheek while his other hand rubs the back of Jungkook’s neck soothingly. Yoongi scrunches his face up at them in disgust and shakes his head, packing up his stuff and moving to the living room with Namjoon.

Jimin giggles quietly to himself at the older’s retreating form while Jungkook cleans up the mess left from Jimin’s blood.

“Energized enough to go to NightFall?” Jimin swipes his thumb under Jungkook’s lip to wipe the blood and presses it on the hyrbid’s tongue to lick.

Nothing stops in the city, not clubs, not restaurants, not hearts, not energy, it’s never lacking. Which is why Jungkook can wake up after a two day sleep, eat and feed quickly then slide on some dancing clothes before making his way down a block to the most popular club, NightFall.

It’s always packed, the city never sleeps after all. But it feels like night time again when you walk in, there’s not a stream of sun, only the flashes of lights from the ceiling over the bar and crowd of people grinding on each other.

Jimin’s hand is held loosely in his own as they walk down the steps to the main floor of the club, the vampire waves at their neighbor Tae as they pass him. Tae’s the first witch he met, it was hard to be intimidated by the other with his puppy personality.

Jungkook nods at him too and they get a chill boxy smile in reply.

Jimin draws them closer to the crowd so Jungkook lets go of his hand, instead holding his waist while the smaller pushes them to the middle. He stops so Jungkook instinctually wraps his arms around the slim waist and inhales Jimin’s scent through his hair, pressing their bodies against each other.

Jimin doesn’t react to the scenting, per usual, as he holds one of Jungkook’s arms and lets his head fall on the taller’s shoulder and sways against him. Jungkook pulls Jimin back even further until Jimin’s ass is blatantly pushed against and grinding down on his cock.

The hybrid groans and unintentionally jerks his hips forward, jostling Jimin and making him gasp.

Jimin looks up at him and caresses his cheek, “if you weren’t feeling satisfied after you woke up you should have said something.”

It’s rare Jungkook sleeps in general, it’s extremely rare Jungkook sleeps for two straight days. But his rut, heat, whatever it was came and the hybrid didn’t let Jimin leave the bed for almost an entire week.

Jungkook had never been so exhausted in his whole life when it finally died down. Jimin was so worn out himself he considered trying to sleep himself just incase his body wanted to.

“I just wanna feel you.” Jungkook mumbles against Jimin’s temple and noses back down to his neck.

It’s hard for mated wolves to not have their partner by their side for long, but Jimin can’t spend two days straight laying in bed with Jungkook, wide awake while the other is knocked out.

They stay like that until Jimin knows Yoongi and Namjoon have been dragged out by Hoseok. He always meets them at the wine/coffee place right across the street from the apartment.

Not far at all, but at least Yoongi gets to see sunlight even if only for an hour. Jimin finds them easily, seated at the table in the middle of the shop.

Him and Jungkook plop down in a double seat and the hybrid throws an arm around his mate’s shoulder, causing Jimin to unconsciously lean into him.

It’s been a year since Jungkook left the pack and coven, in some ways he’s found a new coven but not even Yoongi described themselves as one when he got to the city Jimin brought him to.

He doesn’t think about his old life, oddly enough. It feels like a whole different life, even meeting Jimin feels like ages ago, he has a very faint memory of what his life was like before Jimin and it feels grey when he thinks about it.

Jimin slips a hand on his thigh, squeezing it, making him blink and looks back at the blonde. Jimin is already smiling up at him like he knows it’s how to make his mate crumble, he pecks Jungkook’s cheek cutely and continues the conversation with their friends.

Jungkook’s gaze lingers on him long after with a small smile of his own before he takes a deep breath and leans back in his seat.

It’s hard to remember a good life before Jimin.
