AT MACGYVER’S HOUSE, SOMEWHERE IN LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA…BUT NOT REVEALING THE EXACT LOCATION FOR SECURITY REASONS.
At night-time in a peaceful way, there is Angus MacGyver--also called Mac--and his friend Jack Dalton sitting together leisurely by the fire-pit as if gives off a melancholy light-fiery glow and both men are drinking beer in bottles that Jack brought over. It looked like that these two had just came home from somewhere or something that nearly tired them right to exhaustion, but they are sitting there relaxing to look out the city view and night skies, drinking together before the time comes that Mac’s roommate and other best friend Bozer comes home from work, and Jack will leave Mac alone and go back to his apartment home. Mac and Jack work for a secret organization known as the Phoenix Foundation. From the outside appearance for the normal people’s views, it is cloaked as a Think-Tank research institute, when in reality, the Phoenix Foundation is another secretive covert intelligence agency for the US government and the whole world, and they are secret spies and special agents working in that secret spy organization.They seemed to be talking about something important between them, after coming home from a tiring mission or an exhausting op that they just finished and accomplished. And it turns out that the kind of topic they’re discussing on their important talk is about Mac’s choice about abandoning his search for his father, but Mac didn’t want to talk about it since he already made up his mind and final decision over it, despite that Jack kept insisting on talking him out of it and consider the choice he made more carefully. After all, their other friend Riley made a lot of effort on using the security clearance given by Matty to grab whatever info that was hidden from Mac concerning his father since the last mission before with that ‘Area 51’ case. But Mac was really torn with indecision upon looking into it and being firm on the choice he made on giving up, since the last time he tried with all his efforts to look for his father have all gone in vain and turned out to be nothing but dead ends with the little non-understandable clues he left behind uselessly. Even though Jack Dalton and his other friends Riley and Bozer have been helping him throughout all of it so far, Mac felt like he didn’t want to go through this again, coming up with another fruitless dead end, and end up feeling more disappointed as he was before and now.So Mac tries his best to get Jack to stay out of this subject and talk about something else, and the blond man decided to switch and change the topic to something else begrudgingly reluctant, concerning their lacking relationships of the romantic kind from both of them.“Seriously? Of all the types of women you want to go for and hook up with…you’d prefer the nerdy kinds?” Jack said incredulously. “What the hell’s the matter with you, man?”Mac just shrugged and points out calmly obvious, “Well, you know most girls can’t keep up with me when I talk about science and everything. At the very least, I deserved to meet up and date with somebody who has the same kind of intellect as I have. But…I will admit that the kind of girl I like, besides being my type as intelligent and all that…also has some bad-ass fighting skills to be able to protect and defend herself too.”Mac knew that he’s comparing the type of girl he likes, almost similarly between his ex-girlfriend Nikki Carpenter and former MIT colleague Frankie, a little unfairly, but that’s what the young man is thinking and wanting the kind of woman he likes to have romantic relations with.“That’s more like it!” Jack saluted at Mac with approval from his confession, clinking his beer bottle against his and the blond shook his head amused like he expected that reaction from him.Mac sighed, looked deeply thoughtful for a silent moment and then he said out loud, not meaning for his statement to sound like some universal question he really wanted to ask the gods. “What are the chances that there is really some girl out there, whose really my type, and be my match-made from heaven or something like that, huh?”Jack shrugged like his partner’s question didn’t phase him at all as he took a drink from his beer bottle. He just replied casually, “Same as I’m also hoping and praying that there’s a woman out there, who’s seriously my kind and type of woman I like, Mac.”“Why did I even bother to ask?” Mac lamented dryly like he also expected that kind of response from him.The two men just stayed there near the fire-pit as they try to sit back and relax until their brotherly-like friendly moment of silence is broken when Bozer comes home from work at the Phoenix Foundation where they all worked at.But little did these two guys know…is that a shocking stunning surprise is about to come and change their lives in an unexpected way…and also change their views stupendously amazing when it happens. And here’s how the story turns to a surprising twisting turn, that is going to change their lives into a whole lot better and an entirely new level of adventures that will be coming ahead for them in the future.OOOOO
MEANWHILE…ABOUT A FEW DAYS LATER OR SO, AT ANOTHER DATE AND TIME--ACTUALLY AT NIGHT-TIME…SOMEWHERE IN THE STREETS OF FRANCE.

SPECIFICALLY, SOMEWHERE AT A VERY DARK AND EERIE PLACE WHERE NO ONE WOULD DARE TO VENTURE…
There is a very noisy commotion over there going on, and female voices speaking out softly, while being caught amidst the firefight they’re suddenly in the center of, as the two girls were trying to dodge away from the line of fire, attempting to hide and then escape somehow, despite that they’re completely trapped from the looks of it.“I swear, Helen…I’m going to bloody-kill you for getting us into this bloody mess!” a long blonde-haired woman with silver-gray eyes snapped harshly in a whisper at another young woman who has long black hair and bright emerald-green eyes--and that woman seemed to have a very familiar scar on her forehead, even though it’s fading almost completely to nothingness.“How was I supposed to know that we were going to Apparate right into the middle of a gun-fight!?” the black-haired girl protested as the two young women kept ducking from the shooting and gun-firing at their direction and tried to get down more in their hiding place in a vain attempt to make their enemies think that they’re not there, and try to figure a way out to escape from the dangerous scenario they’re both caught in and trapped.The blond female groaned as she peeked over to check if the gun-firing is going to stop anytime soon but it looks like that it’s not and she glared right over to her black-hair girl partner.  She hissed at her sharply, “Agent Helen Evans-Black--now would be a really good time for you to whip up something and get us out of this in a quick snap!”“Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, Agent Diana Black-Cross but--the Portkey we just used to get here, is completely useless--and there are no materials here that I need nor can I conjure up anything to get us out and escape from this!” the black-hair green-eyed girl that’s named ‘Helen’ and also called ‘Agent Black’ responded back at her in a panicked reply and the blond-hair girl who turned out to be named and called ‘Agent Diana Cross’ cursed again.“Seriously!? Is there anything we have left that we can use to get out of this?!” Diana hissed sharply at Helen again like an agitated snake and she pursed her lips like she’s thinking hard and fast and then her eyes brightened upon getting a sudden idea.“There is!” Helen’s right hand rummaged around her body like she’s trying to look for something in every pocket of her jacket and pants, looking like she managed to bring something along fortunately to save both their hides. Helen ignored Diana who was giving out a relieved sigh and said, “Finally!” as she’s busy looking for it until she finally found it in a split-second so fast.“Got it!” she almost cried out loud in triumph, nearly giving away their position and then showed it to her partner what the object is.Diana instantly frowned like she’s very displeased over what her partner is showing her. “A coin?!” she exclaimed incredulously.Helen pouted indignantly like she’s offended and snapped back at her. “It’s not just any coin! It’s the magic coin that we used to communicate back then! Basically, with this--I can call back for help!”“Well then, what the bloody hell are you waiting for?! Call for back-up--quick!” Diana instantly snapped at her, ducking down again when a shot clipped by the side of her cover, almost hitting near her head.Helen didn’t need her partner to tell her twice as she swiftly activated the golden coin she’s holding desperately with both hands, whispering to it softly in the ancient Latin language and it magically glowed a bit brightly in response and the coin seemed to instantly sends out a message to wherever these two women had come from as it shot out from her hands like real magic, darting almost like a firework or shooting star so fast that the gun-shooters thought it was another missed firing shot amongst the gun-fight.In another revelations about these two women, besides that they’re magical witches and some kind of secret agents or spies, Helen Black and Diana Cross turned out to be former familiar people from another dimension, parallel to this world, when these two and others like them decided to leave that past universe and go to this other one. Whom you’re wondering that these two are, you’re all asking? Helen Black was formerly the male ex-hero Harry Potter, and Diana Cross was the former ex-Death Eater Draco Malfoy.The main reasons being why these two and others like them left from their other world was because they had enough of the fame, prejudice and all the bias and negativity back there, so they made a life-changing decision upon getting help and turning to magic to help them move and leave that place they were from before, forever. And either it was the gods or the mystical energy Magic itself, these two and others joining them were magically transported into another dimension, which was this one, similarly parallel to the former one but the only difference in this particular world they’re now in, is that Grindewald was defeated and vanquished by Albus Dumbledore’s hand as they both died together from the magic-blasting duel long ago. Even Voldemort who died from the sacrificial magic made by the love of Harry’s parents upon her birth and the prophecy was made and swiftly fulfilled when the Dark Wizard came to vanquish his so-called foe but instead he died instantly upon the Killing Curse rebounding onto him yet didn’t leave a mark or scar onto the prophesied one. And also this time there are no Horcruxes created or made by the Dark wizard that he would return as a phantom and such.The only changes when they dimension-travel and time-travel into that world, Harry and Draco were regressed aging back to when they were ten years old upon arrival onto the millennium year 2000 there, and their entire person were changed by genders from male--to female. Harry--now known as Helen from then on--wasn’t disturbed at all upon her own person being changed into a female when they got there in that dimension, for she felt that her former male self seemed to be wrong in her own kind of body when she lived her past life from it. And it also seems that in the parallel universe, her life there seemed the same but the true ‘Helen’ from that dimension died from the abuse of the Mundane relatives that is the Dursleys and they were caught by the Magicals upon being alerted of her ‘death’, and they were sentenced for life in their own kind of prisons where enemies of both Mundane and Magical would suffer and rot together by Magic itself punishing them, but without Dementors used to inflict suffering and agony onto the prisoners. It seems that Harry--now turned and changed into Helen--had arrived 10 years ahead of that time when the other real ‘Helen’ died right at the very day of her same birthday, as it’s like Magic itself decided to transport her right into the millennium year 2000, and also sent her at another place far away from England where Diana is the same too, which is a very surprising shock for them.As for Draco--now changed to a female named and called ‘Diana’--her life seemed to be same as usual back in her former past life, but both her parents were ambushed by other Death-Eaters in revenge for her former father Lucius upon betraying them by telling the Magical Law Enforcement of who the true identities of the Death Eaters were, in exchange for leniency and freedom for himself and his family. There were a few who weren’t caught and they somehow managed to track down the Malfoy family and kill Diana’s parents, but the loyal house-elf that served as Diana’s nanny and guardian, grabbed Diana and took her away to safety. But somehow Magic itself intervened with the house elf’s magic as they escaped, and it transport them safely into another place and also traveled forward in time--in fact, another country far away from England and ten years ahead into the future, as it did the same with Helen too. The house elf didn’t realize this upon arriving into a different time and place, as it was busy worrying and was fussy and concerned when it thought that her little Mistress got hurt as the little witch got caught on one of the magic-firing spells that struck at her when the Death-Eaters killed her parents and tried to do the same at her too. But in reality, without the nanny-guardian elf aware of the truth from this, the real ‘Diana’ died right there at that very moment when she got struck by the spell, and the soul of Draco himself was transferred into her body--thus changing and turning Draco into Diana from now on.Upon arrival into the dimension at that ahead of the time in year 2000, it scared Helen and Diana a bit when they found that Magic transported them and also separated them into that unknown country of a place they’re in, but it didn’t take long for all of them to find one another, by using their magical energy to link with the others and call them into a gathering to find one another. Even though this dimension is similarly the same from their former one, the kind of timeline and history were changed, but the major conflict is still the same with the Magicals still in hiding from the Mundane, thus dividing the two societies from each other ever since the Witch Hunts. The only other surprising developments that are in this new world dimension, is that the Magical people formed covert intelligence agencies and secret organizations, besides the usual law enforcement ones, to ensure the safety and security between the Magical and the Mundane populace of that world. Thus, specifically, they created their own secret-spy agencies to enforce the safety and security and provide protection for both communities of the Magical and Mundane and will deal with any kind of threats and terrorist enemies from both these kinds too.And that is what Helen and Diana instantly signed up for, after they found one another and then lived together as sisters, grew up together and both attending a magic school to learn as well as the Mundane one to live in both worlds. Upon finding out about the secret intelligence agencies, they decided to live their lives, signing up for it and working with them, to also protect the two societies and whole world of any threats and dangers, and they chose to do this instead of living the kind of normal lives most people would want for when they left the past life and former world behind. But these two were firm on their decision over it and chose to live their life and work as magic secret spies, and so it happened just like that, after graduation from the Magical and Mundane schools, they went to training upon turning 17-years-old and broke the record in history of the magical trainees when they went through it for only three years, and then got their jobs at one of those agencies and became magical spies for five years now.And so…now knowing this and learning more about these two secret special women, who are Agent Helen Evans-Black and Agent Diana Black-Cross, we return back to the part that’s happening right now.Both of these women with their pretty young looks in their mid-twenties of age, and also turned out to be Magical witches and secret spies for both the Magical and the Mundane, prayed for the enchanted message to be received on time and help will arrive swiftly to get them out of there.But these two girls didn’t expect that help and rescue will come to them in unexpected ways with an additional shocking turnout as it’s happening from the other side back at the agency they work for. ABOUT THE EXACT SAME DAY BUT RIGHT BEFORE THE TIME AGENT BLACK AND CROSS’ TRAPPED SITUATION HAPPENED--THAT’S ABOUT SOMETIME HOURS AGO.
Right there walking down the hallways, heading straight and getting near towards the ‘War Room’ where their leader Director Matilda ‘Matty’ Webber is waiting for them, there is Jack Dalton and Angus ‘Mac’ MacGyver leading the way with Jack still chatting to Mac and Mac is simply listening to him talk on and on, sometimes rolling his eyes at some absurdity Jack is saying or commenting, while Riley Davis and Wilt Bozer followed behind the two guys with amused smiles on their faces.It didn’t take long for them to get there and walk through the door, entering the room as Director Matty is there standing next and almost near to the screen which is showing itself a map of the whole world with some red dots or other colored dots pinpointing locations or marking something and showing it on the screen for everyone in the room to see. But that’s not important because Matty is getting all the attention from the others straight at her and not the screen just yet.Even though Mac and Jack are still indecisive with their negative distrusting feelings towards Matty, because of her secrets about Mac’s father and not telling them the real truth about it, they still respect her as their boss, ally and everything else as such.However, they didn’t expect that whatever Matty is going to announce or say something that day when they come in, will be the most shocking surprise ever for the entirety of their lives.“Good, now that everyone’s here. Well--you guys are all in for the real deal today,” Matty said seriously, her face completely looking like she’s not joking around at this very time of day. “All of you are going to meet Oversight…face-to-face.”The entire team were instantly rendered stunned silent upon Director Matty’s grand announcement.It was so funny that it almost felt like an hour that they’re all gobsmacked silent, but in reality, it’s only been a few seconds before Bozer finally broke it, reacting as usual like himself. “Seriously? For real!? We’re meeting THE Big Boss-man himself?!”Matty cleared her throat and pointedly glared at Bozer before turning to stare at the rest. “Actually, he’s a she. This woman is not just the very Boss of Phoenix Foundation--she’s the one and only Founder and Owner of Phoenix Foundation herself. So I implore to you all deeply…please behave yourselves.”“Whoa…this is extremely big news! The Grand-Master herself is actually someone Matty is afraid of right here!” Jack muttered amazed, trying to keep his words down for only Mac and the others to hear except Matty, but unfortunately, she can still hear him clearly, even if he mumbles like a non-understandable idiot.Matty glared at Jack with a full-time dangerous glare that got him instantly cowering from her. “I’m not afraid of her, Mr. Dalton,” she points out calmly. “I just deeply respect her.”“Yep. She’s definitely afraid of the Big Boss-woman herself!” Riley mumbled to Bozer in low whispers too but not making it too obvious for Matty to turn her glare onto them. Bozer nodded agreeing, trying to hold back an amused grin over this.“Well, I’m really flattered by the compliment, Ms. Webber,” a light voice spoke out, surprising the others in the room, including Matty, when they heard it and then a woman appeared out of nowhere from some kind of secret door or something right behind the big screen and coming up behind Matty. “It’s not everyday that I hear that another person here, whom I deeply trust and respect too, actually admit that she respects me.”They stared at the new woman who surprisingly appeared before them without being aware of it in a mysterious magical-like way and Matty straightened herself up and then nodded formally at the Phoenix Founding Director, almost bowing towards the long silver-blonde haired and mystical ethereal-like blue-eyed woman, who’s simply dressed in a formal office suit but with a long ankle-length skirt and long-sleeved coat-shirt and the clothing ensemble is completely all in white colors, making her appear some kind of professional Head doctor or psychiatrist, except her aura radiates in a mythical mystical way. Despite that she also looks very young like she’s in her early mid-twenties of age or so, her whole being and person resonates the adult maturity and wisdom she’s showing at them, almost appearing like she’s young and child-like on the outside but old and wise on the inside of her very being.“Director Lovegood, it’s really an honor to have you here with us.” Matty said politely like she’s formally greeting the Head Director of all Law Enforcement Agencies or the President of United States of America herself.The woman now revealed and known as Director Lovegood just smiled warmly and said in a slightly fluent British tone with a little mix of American, “Please Matty, you know I hate formalities. Besides--we’re all friends and family here, so all of you can call me Luna. And yes, it’s my real name.” she added the latter part with a kind gentle smile on her pale fair face.Matty cleared her throat, dropped her nervous tensing self and went serious. She turned to the others and gave them a full-on stern glare again like a principal on campus glaring at all her students to behave. “Team, this is Director Luna Lovegood, sole Head, Founder, and Owner of Phoenix Foundation. Director, this is my trusted Elite core team. Angus MacGyver, Jack Dalton, Riley Davis, and finally, Wilt Bozer,” Matty introduced the others to Luna and so on.But unbeknownst to them, Luna Lovegood is also one of the Magical people that time-traveled and dimensional travel with Helen and Diana into this new world, to leave their former life behind, and got transported into another dimension as well as going ahead of the time then, along with age-regressing the same as Helen and Diana into ten-years-old long ago and growing up with them, then training and signing up into a secret spy agency, but this young woman decided to raise up her ranks and become the original Founder and Head Director of Phoenix Foundation. As it turns out, this secret agency and ‘Think-Tank’ institute existed longer than before, and DXS was another different intelligence agency, so it was actually Luna who secretly brought in the Mundane team for other reasons and purposes after DXS was disbanded and then allowed them into Phoenix Foundation after screening the agents carefully before signing them into the secret organization.Luna nodded to each of them when Matty gave names, with the kind warm smile on her face that shows to the others she’s a real friendly good type of person, but the others didn’t notice that one of their team members and friend Bozer has been staring wide-eyed star-struck at Luna like she’s a super rock-star or something.It didn’t take long for his friend Mac to notice this as he gave his usual statement for Director Luna to call him Mac for short and then he elbowed Bozer to stop his staring at Luna but didn’t realize that was a mistake as Bozer snapped out of it and went beyond the flirting he’s doing straight at the mythical-like beautiful woman right there and then--much to the others’ stunned-shocked as well as Matty completely scandalized expression at Bozer’s bold foolish actions.“Milady, it is truly a pleasure on having been graced upon such a beautiful being such as yourself. And I must say you are as ethereal beyond any fairy, elf or mermaid I have ever seen, beyond all from books, movies, and even, cosplay real life!” Bozer lay it on thickly, doing a dramatic bow like giving respect to a royal queen as well as taking one of her hands and kissing it straight over her palm.Riley couldn’t help herself as she gasped and slapped a hand to cover over her gaping mouth with big wide-eyes, same reaction as Mac but with eyes widened in shock and instant frozen body like a statue, and Jack just slapped a hand over his face while Matty was on the verge of exploding in anger and firing Bozer on the spot right there and then.But then Luna reacted in a surprising yet very strange way that they did not expect when she just giggled merrily and put her free hand up to hover over her lips like she’s trying to cover the rising blush on her face, not removing her other hand that Bozer is still holding at all, as she said lightly. “Ohh my! I never felt this much flattered and complimented on since in my high-school days back then. Most of the people I know or met me first time always comment to me that I’m--well, how to put this bluntly--very odd. Or call me weird behind my back.”Bozer gasped dramatically like this is a grave offense. “Perish the thought! You are neither weird--nor are you odd in any ways, milady! Those fools are as blind as bats to not see the greatness of your fantastical beauty to know better that you are as intelligent than you look.”Jack whispered straight to Mac, “Oh man, if Bozer doesn’t stop with the way he’s talking and acting right now…Matty is seriously going to go full-blown ‘Matty The Hun’ and fire the poor boy right on the spot!”Mac agreed with him, his eyes widening in impending horror and pity when Matty really looked like she’s about to explode in fury but surprisingly she didn’t and kept her cool and composure because Director Luna seemed to be very pleased with the dramatic flattery Bozer is giving towards her.But Matty knew that whatever brought them all gathered there in the War Room, called by the Phoenix Founder and Director herself, must be serious, so she had to break this off as she soundly cleared her throat to get Luna’s attention. It worked when Luna blinked like she snapped out of whatever daze she was in and then glanced to Matty who gave a meaningful questionable look asking why they’re here and then nodded.Luna then further explained and revealed the existence of Magic, straight on right there and then upon telling them. All of them were shocked at first and later on dubious and disbelieving, except Matty was the only one not surprised or shocked, revealing that she already knows and had been aware and was briefed about it. Luna decided to surprise them even more by showing them, as she deftly flicked her hands and twisted them around and about, conjuring magic such as turning one of the chairs into a living breathing dog and it frolicked about to show its authenticity of the ability Luna had done, and also floated another chair with Riley sitting on it, nearly scaring her silly when she yelped and curled herself into a protective ball so that she wouldn’t fall off. When Luna was satisfied upon showing the reality of Magic, she turned the dog back into a lifeless chair, both Mac and Bozer a little stunned shocked and disturbed when the chair-dog confronted and barked at them until it turned back to normal and then she floated the chair back down in its place, Riley instantly jumping away from it once it hits solid ground. After that confirmation, Luna continued telling them and also explaining before they could ask questions at her, and she told them the gist of the history between the Magical and Mundane societies, the dividing and necessary separation between the communities because of the Witch Hunts and protecting them from the fear and prejudice of it, and further explaining more about how Phoenix Foundation was founded and built a long time ago back then, as another one of the secretive covert intelligence agencies, made for the Magical agents to ensure the secrecy as well as protect and keep the world safe and secure for both Magical and Mundane from any terrorist threats and dangerous enemies.It surprises Mac and Riley a bit when Luna had confessed that her older predecessors and former leaders of the Phoenix Foundation before, had first made this organization hidden as a secret from the Mundane until it was deemed time and worthy upon allowing the agency to exist into the Mundane populace under the guises of a Think-Tank institute and another added secret covert intelligence agency to the Mundane government, for at the time they now believe that they need Mundane allies as well. Luna told them that the Mundane people, who were going to be assigned in and work as secret agents as well, had to be watched and screened carefully first before they were approached and brought in or given the offer to sign into the secret spy organization upon selecting them wisely. And Luna also admitted that she separates the Mundane teams from the Magical teams, because there is still tension from the higher-ups in the Magical side of the shaky trust and wary caution they still have upon allying with the Mundane ones. And it turns out at the time, those wary suspicions and precautions became true, when the former person before, that is Patricia Thornton betrayed the agency upon becoming an enemy mole when she signed in and became the Director in Phoenix Foundation on the mundane side.However, the higher-ups reluctantly let Director Luna take in Matilda Webber as the new Director to replace the previous one and they decided to trust on her word that the Mundane woman Matty is better than the last one, much more than ever and sooner or later in the future, she can be trusted to know the truth about the Magical side. And so, Luna’s prediction came true when about a year ago, the higher-ups finally allowed and let Director Luna bring Director Matty Webber in to know the real truth, thus it’s the very reason why Matty already knows of Magic and everything else pertaining to it. And Matty impressed Director Luna and the magical Higher-ups themselves upon keeping her word and kept silent on the secret about the Magical side, even vowing to them in a sincere promise and serious statement, that she would shoot herself before other agents or the enemies themselves would dare to interrogate her on it.And from then on, and also obviously, Matty is the Director for the Mundane side of the Phoenix Foundation, dealing with the Mundane kind of terrorists and enemies after she’s allowed in and briefed aware of the Magic side. As for Luna, in her position and code-rank as ‘Oversight’, while also being the original Founder than the others upon building and naming Phoenix Foundation as well as being Head Director, she leads the Magical side and maintains over the team of Magical spy-agents, but they deal with both Magical and Mundane threats, in ever the case that the Mundane enemies stumble into the Magical people or enchanted artifacts, thus exploiting and using them for evil means and dastardly criminal purposes.And after Luna finished telling them all this and giving them the full briefing about it, she instantly brought up the important matter on the reason she’s here and why she gathered them into the War Room upon revealing herself and Magic itself, swiftly calm and not letting them ask any more questions at this moment because the matter is much too important than the shocking revelation she just laid out, showed off, and told them.“About three days ago, my old mentor and predecessor, and one of the former directors in the Magical side of Phoenix Foundation, had submitted a Request for Approval to the Higher-ups in the Magical society to allow Mundane agents to work with the Magical ones, teaming them for the events of terrorist threats and dangers from the Mundane and Magical enemies, if there are or any in the future ahead. The former boss believed that it is now the right time to unite and team both the Mundane and Magical agents to work together to ensure the protection and security of both communities as well as prepare them readily for any threats against this,” Luna said. “Half of the higher-ups believed that it is too soon to make such an alliance since Thornton’s betrayal long ago, while the other half agreed with the request and thought it over, considering that it is a good option to make this alliance. Among the higher-ups decision-making, it ended up as a tie--so they called me formally and requested that it will be my decision to break the stand-off between these two options--and much to the negative side’s disappointment, I agreed on the latter one. So…that’s why I brought you here. I’m now promoting you to the team rank of allying with one of my Elite teams in the Magic side and you’ll be brought in to future secret cases and covert operations to fight against any dangerous enemies or terrorist threats concerning the Magical side.”Upon being given these news, it excited them all and they were eager to meet more Magical people just like Luna, but the Magic Director slightly dashed their hopes and their excitement on wanting to know more about the magic side when she said, “However, upon selecting your team, the higher-ups insisted on a trial basis first. Which means that you’ll all be assessed by one of the most Top Elite agents here in my agency and they’ll give their reports back to the higher-ups and enforce the decision whether this is truly the right and worthy time for the Mundane to ally with the Magicals…or not. So all of you, you need to be prepared and ready for what you’re going to face. Once I assign you to team up with the two most Top and best Elite agents in the Magic side here in Phoenix Foundation, you need to work together in equal grounds. And I warn you that you should all respect them as such, just as they will respect yours too.”“Oh, I’m sure we can all work with that!” Bozer said lightly, believing that he’ll instantly be liked by the Magical people once he and his friends meet with the others. But it looks like Matty doesn’t believe Bozer’s humorous light mood, as well as Mac and Riley when they doubt it too.However, Bozer was a little relieved that Jack was on his side as he jokingly remarked, “Well yeah, this teamwork pairing of the alliance is going to be a cinch! I’m sure that we’re going to get along great with your kind of guys, Director Luna. By the way…who are we working with? And how long are we going to be teaming up for?”Luna smiled like she’s satisfied upon expecting that answer from him and replied, “Your team will be working with the two Agents I mentioned, for about a month or so. That is the deadline assigned from the Higher-ups when they reported me this. And these two Elite Agents…are particularly the ones known here in this agency as the ‘Best of the Best’. But all of you can rest assured, I’m very sure that you’ll get along quite fine with these two. And I say this, because I view them as close friends and family, just the same as you regard one another too.”Again, Mac and Riley doubt it at first, but then they believed her words when Matty seemed to give them a silent look of approval upon trusting Luna’s words when she said this and it looked like that Matty also knows about who these two ‘Best’ Elite Agents of the Magical side were.They sat down or stood by as they watched Luna turn to the screen and clicked or pressed on buttons to a highly-advanced watch on her wrist, to show the pictures of the two Agents that Luna mentioned that they’ll be working with. Luna showed the first one, that is Agent Helen Black.“This is Agent Helen Evans-Black. She’s an expert Charms-caster, Transfiguration master, cryptographer, archaeologist, and code-breaking analyst graduate from Avalon University, served with top marks as a British Royal Air Force flyer-fighter and Magi Armed Forces EOD Specialist, as well as an elite operative infiltrator for the MI6,” Luna introduced Helen to the team and she nearly grinned knowingly and slyly upon catching the sudden stunned look on Mac’s face like he got struck by lightning and shot by Cupid’s arrow literally, falling in love at first sight from seeing the picture of the beautiful lady with her long black hair, emerald gem-like green eyes and fair face.Mac instantly snapped out of it before the others noticed, especially Jack, and they’ll tease on him over it upon reacting like that from seeing Helen’s picture. Fortunately, Luna also didn’t reveal what she saw and noticed on Mac’s reaction and clicked on the screen again to show the next picture, placing it in position next to Helen’s.“And this is her sister and long-time partner, Agent Diana Black-Cross.”It shows the image of another beautiful woman, right next to Helen’s picture, and shows off a mysterious yet formidable appearance of a woman with her long very straight golden-blonde hair and fierce-like silver-gray eyes, almost blazing brightly upon her pale face and features. Luna told them about her, “Diana Cross is a high-scored graduate in Avalon University as a Runes-master, politics, and Defense-physical training, as well as very skilled in fighting such as martial-arts and very well-versed in her expertise of weaponry, such as guns which are mostly her favored likes. She’s also an elite MI6 ‘Seeker’ intelligence operative, and served as a British Royal Navy SEAL sniper and Magi Armed Forces Alpha Specialist.”When Jack Dalton caught sight of Helen’s partner when her image showed next to the other one on the big screen, he wolf-whistled soundly, that was an expected predicted reaction known by Mac, Riley, and Bozer, even Matty as she shakes her head in exasperation.“Ay, Caramba! Yes, please--hook me straight up with that girl right there. Whoo! My kind of woman!” he exclaimed, grinning slyly like he’s excited to meet up with her and then turn on his charms to flirt with her.Matty glared at Jack straightly unimpressed and bluntly said, “Well, sorry to disappoint you, Jack. But you’re not Special Agent Cross’ type. And I’m not kidding this time. Once you see and meet her face-to-face, up-close and personal and all that…she’ll say the exact same thing as I just said once she sees you.”“Much as I hate dashing onto your parade, as the Americans say, Agent Dalton…but Matty is correct,” Luna said sagely wise. “Agent Cross is not going to be very pleased once you two meet up with each other and you start ‘flirting’ with her if you dare to do so. It will not look good on your record if she reports back to the Higher-ups with your kind of antics, Agent Dalton.”Jack gave a mock-hurt look on his face but Luna continued on like nothing happened. “You’ll meet them later on, maybe the next day, because right now Agent Black and Agent Cross are at an op overseas. All of you have to do is just prepare yourselves and be ready to meet with them once they come back from their op.” then she added in when she saw that the others were curious about the op that the two agents are on and said blandly, “And the op is classified. So no questions, please.”Jack pouted again, hurt that he and the others are left in the loop about what kind of op the two agents are on, all wondering if it was a Mundane or Magical mission those two are in. Matty was the only one who’s on the know about this, but from her pointed look on her face, it’s warning them to not ask her about it unless you want to live. Deeming the nickname ‘Matty the Hun’ Jack had dubbed her to be true as the others cringed slightly from her pointed glare.But before Director Luna and Matty were about to dismiss them, now that they’ve been briefed about Magic and the other important matter about their possible new teammates in the Magical side, Luna suddenly got a message from her wrist watch--in which a flickering ball of light came swooping in secretly and went straight at Luna’s watch, alerting her of it--and she looked at it, and then surprised the others when she activated something on it and a sudden holographic projection appeared before them in a text message, that got them staring in wonder and awe upon seeing another amazing feat of magic coming from Luna’s watch accessory. They instantly deduced that it was one of those magical artifacts that she mentioned before and realized upon being revealed and shown to them that her watch is one of them.Then the team saw that Luna’s smile instantly turned into a frown when she saw and read the contents of the message from the magical misty-like holograph. “Oh…oh dear. This is quite unexpected.” she muttered lowly.She was blankly thoughtful for a moment and then she turned off her watch upon twisting her wrist to make the message fade away and then she turned to the team with a grave look on her face that seemed serious from whatever she had read from the magic message she got. “Change of plans. You four are going straight to Paris, France as fast as you can, and extract Agent Black and Agent Cross from their op. The message was from them and it seems they stumbled into a dangerous situation and need back-up quickly to get them out of there.”“They’re in trouble? We’re going to help them?” Mac asked, instantly worried for the two agents--or more specifically, Agent Helen is the one he suddenly got a crush on.Luna nodded and Matty instantly set up the jet by phone-call and after doing that, she told them in firm orders. “Wheels up in ten, guys. Get to it then.”Luna added in before the four of them left the War room, “I’ll inform you the complete details on the op that Agent Black and Agent Cross were on, through comms on the jet. Be careful!”OOOOO
PHOENIX JET IN FLIGHT ON THE AIR…ONLY THIS TIME THIS JET IS BETTER THAN THE LAST ONE THEY USUALLY RIDE IN.
“Whoo! Check out these new digs, bro!” Bozer exclaimed with impressed whooping as he twist around in a spin on one of the most comfortable and luxurious soft spinning chairs inside the new kind of Phoenix jet they’re riding in.Riley looked around the highly-advanced jet, that is deep in its black dark colors, both from the outside and inside. “Wow…okay, I gotta admit--this is really better than the other one we rode in usually,” she said in a soft whisper of awe, her eyes wide in wonder, actually focusing on the computer network setup on the left side of the jet plane with its highly advanced technology, almost futuristic-like.“Not just better--this is the best! Whoo-whee! I never seen such an arsenal of weapons and a super guns collection like this, since the last tour I went through back in my CIA days, all packed up and nicely set up here in this jet!” Jack commented, grinning widely, staring at the weapons display racks that is an added feature in this dark-black Phoenix jet almost near the far end of the plane’s tail end. Jack was about to reach out and grab one of the nice-looking sniper rifles on the weapons display case but he nearly jumped in surprise when Luna appeared into one of the monitor comms up their heads on the jet’s ceilings and intervened like she knew what Jack is aiming to do.Luna said calmly with amusement in her wise eyes, [Don’t get too comfortable, Agent Dalton. Remember--your team is only at a trial basis in this alliance with my other two agents. So basically, any features or items that are in that Phoenix jet you’re in, are not yours precisely. They’re only for temporary use for new agents--such as yourselves.]Jack pouted once more and again like a child being denied of a cookie treat and Mac had to hold back his amusement upon seeing this and turned to his friend Bozer, who seemed excited and gotten very giddy when he’s looking over the set of highly-advanced disguises and masks, which those looked like they’re actually the authentic props taken from a famous spy movie or something. Mac smiled at his friend’s happiness over this before he went serious and asked Luna from one of the various monitor comms spread out evenly above them.He asked, “So what was the op Agent Helen and Agent Cross were on?”Then it would take a split-second later for Mac to curse internally upon calling one of the agents by her name so familiarly like they’re close friends or something, and he hoped that the others didn’t notice this. Fortunately, they didn’t yet as Luna told them about the op they’ll be joining and helping the other two agents on. [The op that Agent Black and Agent Cross are in, they were supposed to extract a particular person to safety and secure him back to Phoenix but it turned out be a dead-end. However, they found a clue left behind by that certain person and were about to leave and return back to HQ--that’s when they suddenly missed their exfil out-of-the-blue, and ended up in the middle of a little skirmish, that got them calling for back-up and asking for help to escape. The last known coordinates from the two agents were at Paris, France--specifically, somewhere near the Catacombs.]Riley blinked at this and her eyes nearly brightened up in recognition and excitement. “Wait--as in the infamous Catacombs of Paris?! Oh wow, I love that place! Granted, I never went or set foot in Paris anyway, but still--!”“Ohh sure, you’re not a fan of ‘Die Hard’ but you’re a fan of that creepy horror movie ‘As Above, So Below’ huh?” Jack joked sarcastically, not liking the fact that they might be helping and rescuing the agents somewhere near that scary place. If there’s one thing that Jack hates most of all, even though he’s used to the scary stuff only for the Halloween holidays--it’s going to an op that involves or concerns all the types of movie-flick references, centering on the Horror genre kind. Jack learned that--almost the hard way--from their previous op upon going to the Bermuda Triangle place before.But Director Matty was not very pleased with Jack or feeling humorous at that very moment, when she appeared at another monitor comm besides Luna and snapped out barking, making Jack straighten up like he’s been called on by his drill sergeant. [Jack Dalton, this is not the time and place to be joking or messing around. And whether you like it or not--and I don’t care whatever excuses you make on not wanting to go--you and Mac are going there and extract our two agents before they end up dead. Do you understand me, Dalton?]“Yes, ma’am! I’m done kidding around--and I won’t let you down, ma’am!” Jack instantly responded and he acted that way like he’s suddenly back in the army during his trainee days or something.Riley and Bozer’s lips twitched slightly to cover their amusement over this but Mac failed to hold back his as he snickered soundly, making his partner Jack turn to glare at him with betrayal and annoyance. It didn’t take long enough for them to reach their destination since the black jet plane somehow managed to break the flight-speed record in history upon bringing them straight to France, but then again, they figured that this jet plane must be powered by magic also, since Luna allowed them to ride on that new jet and have them swiftly flown over to the other country for their mission to rescue the two agents.OOOOOWELCOME TO PARIS…THE CITY OF LOVE…BUT ALSO THE CITY OF THE DEAD Mac and Jack are driving at a conspicuous rental car, heading towards their destination to wherever the entrance of the Catacombs of Paris were, while Riley and Bozer stayed behind at the hotel they’re discreetly staying in and looking out for them by comm-link.“Okay, Riley. We’re almost there, near to the spot where the coordinates of Agents Black and Cross exfil point should be, are you sure that this is the right place?” Mac asked through the comms, in which the kind of ear comm devices they’re now using is more highly-advanced than the previous old ones they used.Riley confirmed. [Yeah. Exactly right where Director Luna had sent the last known location should be. I’m hacking into the security cameras right now to find out what happened.]Luna intoned, joining in the conversation. [Don’t bother with that. The exfil point I set up for Agent Black and Cross are within the blind spots where any security or street cameras cannot point at. The op they’re on is actually top secret and very classified because of the important asset they’re supposed to retrieve.]The reason why these new ear-comms they’re now using is highly-advanced and better than before, was because they were magically infused and designed to work in much longer-distances, even from another country, and they can last longer without being damaged or run out of battery because they’re heavily modified with magic to make it indestructible and magic-fueled energized.“But when you briefed us before that it ended up with a bust, we won’t be able to find out what happened to the two gals when they’re supposed to get to the exfil point and end up missing it,” Jack finished, deducing Luna’s unspoken statement.[That is correct, Agent Dalton. So I’m afraid that you and Agent MacGyver will have to investigate ‘old-school’ style--as the Americans would put it--to find out what happened to the two agents, find out where they are now, and extract them quickly before grave harm has been done to them. And I’m not saying this in theory.]Luna stated this, her voice sounding very grim and both Mac and Jack know the seriousness of the situation as well as sensing the desperation and fear in Luna’s voice for it seemed she’s really worried for her two agents. They parked right next to the spot that is supposedly the exfil point for the two agents and Mac and Jack got out of the car and stared at the foreboding scary-looking dark hole that is supposed to be the escape route for the two female agents, and so far, they don’t see anything amiss from what they can see through normal eyes. But it’s a good thing that they have a magical gadget to scan and sense out anything wrong, which Director Luna had earlier equip them as such with these nifty magical devices before, to effectively use it on the field since they’ve been brought into this op for the rescue mission.For once, Mac didn’t try to dismantle the magical device that he took out to know everything about its works and parts on the inside--which looked like some kind of normal modern-looking small scanning sonar device--and he knew better that this mission is more important than dissecting and taking apart the gadget, so it surprised Jack a little that his partner held himself back from destroying the magic gadget into pieces just as he usually does before when it comes to his hard-wired curiosity.As Mac slowly and carefully moved the scanning magic device around, it was about a few seconds later, that it started beeping and made whirring sounds, indicating that it detected some anomalies or something and he looked at the readouts and see the results on the scans. Jack came closer to look over Mac’s shoulder to also see the results on the device too.“Okay, according to the scanner…it says that there’s some kind of interference disrupting the aura waves here at the exfil point. It also says that it happened about five minutes right after the exfil point has been activated to signal their supposed getaway to come get them,” Mac said to Director Luna and the others.Luna said more grimly. [Ohh dear…either Agent Black or Agent Cross must have tried to Apparate to the exfil point, and must have triggered one of the security measures to disrupt their mid-transport when they thought to make it upon missing their deadline.][Apparate?] Bozer asked curiously, unfamiliar with that kind of word.[Apparate is our magical version of teleportation, Agent Bozer.]“No way! You guys can also teleport!?” Jack exclaimed incredulously.Luna explained. [Only in rare cases, the Magical ones with immense powerful mana-energy can. But most of the Magicals had to study intensely to get the right training to be able to Apparate accurately, Agent Dalton. In comparison for you to understand--it’s like learning how to drive a normal modern car perfectly, without causing or making any kind of vehicular accidents in every way.][What happens if you cause an accident, in that Magical way, Director?] Riley couldn’t help but ask that question out loud, which is all in their minds.Luna replied bluntly. [In our case, Agent Davis…we literally end up splitting ourselves apart into bloody pieces--basically, a body part or two from either outside or inside will be yanked or pulled apart from your own body.]They all winced upon hearing this knowledgeable fact of magic.“Ouch! Okay--I guess your magic ‘teleportation’ is out of our options to escape, in case this goes sideways,” Jack remarked with a visible shudder.[Indeed, Agent Dalton.]Mac now switch the modes of the magic scanning device into ‘Finder’ mode and the radar gun magically turned itself from scanning to the kind of finding-seeking type of device--which almost looked like the radar-device gun used on tracking speeding cars--then he gently aimed the device to the spot upon the exfil point a few inches away from it and it didn’t take long for it to detect and pinpoint where Agent Black and Cross are now, showing a direct line on its screen, guiding them the way like how your GPS locator app does for you to lead you where you need to go.Mac and Jack slowly followed the directions of the magic device leading and guiding them to where the two magical agents are. And it was about an hour or two maybe, after walking through the creepy dark tunnels in the Parisian Catacombs, that they reached into the middle of a kind of room that had multiple paths forking out ahead of them, and then the scanning device went a little haywire and broken, its finding mode having a bit of a problem pinpointing exactly where the missing agents are.“Ohh boy, hey Miss--I mean, Director Luna? We got a bit of a problem here. It seems our magic Scan-Find-Multi-user device is getting a little wonky, spinning its point and twisting its direction lines like crazy like it isn’t able to find out where our missing girls are.” Jack said worriedly through the comms, suddenly getting a bad feeling in his gut.[Oh dear. I almost forgot about that. There is some truth that in the famous Catacombs of Paris--there are some magical and supernatural traces left there, that occurred long ago during the ancient time where the people have buried their dead ones and designed the bones as such into the particular tourist spots over there.]Both Mac and Jack froze upon hearing that and now the two men wished that they weren’t briefed before about the revelation of Magic being real and all that. Obviously, there would be chances that they’ll have personal real-life experience on encountering the supernatural too--especially the dearly departed spiritual beings and such.“Oh hell no! Luna, ma’am--you’re a nice boss lady and all…but please do not say that we’re going to be seeing real ghosts down here too, right?” Jack pleaded vehemently through the comms.Luna comforted them. [Rest assured, Agent Dalton. Nothing of the sort will happen to you down there, nor will you encounter one. It turns out the suspicions and rumors of supernatural presences left over there has been debunked by a few expert Magical archaeologists who went to investigate those matters. They found out and discovered that they were left by ancient Magicals who created supernatural holographic magic-traps to scare the Mundane people away from the Catacombs when they used to use the old tunnels as escape routes during Witch Hunts.]Riley exclaimed incredulously. [Wait a minute--are you saying what I think you’re saying, Director? The Catacombs of Paris itself was some kind of magic version of America’s old Underground Railroad?!]Luna commended. [Precisely something similar of that sort, Ms. Davis. You’re quite bright and very quick on the uptake, I approve.]Mac and Jack knew that Riley must be blushing with embarrassment and praise, even though they can’t see it, then the two men were relieved when Luna told them that there’s no supernatural beings there or anything that’s haunting the dark tunnels of sorts. But Luna warned them once more and again about the traps left behind by the Magical beings back in ancient times and that not all of them were deactivated by the Magical archaeologists and curse-breakers by then. So they need to watch out for any hidden among the walls, ceilings, and floors, and also put the device on high-scanning alert to help them watch out for them in case they didn’t see it or might miss it and then accidentally trip and activate it into harming them or something worse.Mac and Jack affirmed Luna’s warnings and Mac quickly set up the settings onto the magic device, almost fixing it from its broken spinning until it’s finally working back to normal, in its own way or something. Once it was working right, they followed the guiding path again as it points and leads the way, and it didn’t take long for them to carefully go over, avoid, and evade any hidden or lurking traps when the magic device showed and alerted them from it, until they reached the spot exactly where the two female agents are now. But much to their puzzlement and bafflement, the magic device led them to a spot and its ending arrow pointed right below their feet when reaching somewhere in the middle of another tunnel they had been walking through and in.“What the--? Why did the device lead us right here?” Mac asked very confused, musing to himself. However, Jack instantly realized the reason why when he felt the ground they’re standing on, in which the device was pointing at--moving from under their feet.“Crap! MOVE--!”But it was too late.Mac and Jack yelled and screamed their heads off as they fell down a hole and slid down almost endlessly through some sort of slide of that dark tunnel they just fell into and through. It felt like an hour, when in reality, it was only a minute until they finally reached to its end, instantly crashing down into a crumpled heap with Mac falling right on top of Jack’s back when he crash-landed first before the other followed. Mac groaned, rubbing his head and swiftly got off from Jack when he moaned a little in pain, and quickly checked him out to see if he suffered any broken bones or twisted parts.He sighed with relief upon finding no serious injuries on Jack, except a few bruises, and he winced upon the loud chatter through the comms, forgetting that they’re still connected and the others have heard them falling and were crying and shouting out worriedly for them if they’re alright or not. Mac swiftly reassured them that they’re alright and didn’t suffer any worse injuries when they fell down the hole and slid down the tunnel to wherever it got them to, and he also told them that wherever they are right now, Agent Black and Cross must be here somewhere since he deduced that they must have fallen through it before they did.Luckily, the magic device wasn’t broken by their fall upon crash-landing as it continued pointing the way to where Agent Black and Cross are, showing the two men that their search is not over yet. Mac and Jack continued walking to look for them but they stumbled into something they did not expect at all.They found the bad guys, the ones that had Agent Black and Cross trapped upon accidentally teleporting right into the middle of a gunfight. And funny enough--they were all hog-tied silly--somehow the two agent-women got the best of them and had them all cuffed and tied up with their feet locked tightly with thick ropes or cables against their wrists, nearly twisting them in half upon tying behind their backs, making them all unable to escape their bonds.“Whoa! Damn…I gotta admit, these two gals are really good!” Jack whistled impressed, staring with a wide grin on his face at the criminals being tied up like that and he saw that the few of them were knocked down unconscious by being struck right at their heads and the remaining others were glaring at the two men as they arrived.However, it didn’t take long for Jack to realize as well as Mac when he moved the device around to search for the missing agents, for them to know that the tied up bad guys were actually glaring at something behind them. The two of them instantly froze upon hearing the familiar cock-clicking of two guns from right behind them and slowly turned to see their attackers but then they relaxed relieved upon seeing that it’s the two female agents they’ve been looking for. And both of them looked alive and well with no injuries on them, albeit they look a little dirty and worse for wear from whatever they’ve went through before.Agent Diana Cross warned them in a serious no-nonsense tone. “If you two really value your lives to be intact--then don’t bloody move one inch from your spots!” when she confirmed that they listened to her without question, she turned to her partner Agent Helen Black and gestured with a nod to go and search them.Agent Helen nodded back silently, hands over the gun she was aiming at the two men to Diana so that she’ll watch them with both hands holding them in ready position to shoot if Mac and Jack tries anything funny or make any movement. Mac would have instantly spoken and told them that they’re not enemies too but he decided to not push his luck because the way how serious Agent Cross looked upon being ready to shoot him with the two guns she’s holding and aiming against them without hesitation, if he tries to speak one word or something.Mac and Jack hold still as Helen searched all of them, patting her hands down and around their bodies until she found the two extra magic ear-comms meant for them as well as discovering the magic device that she recognized instantly and was familiar with. Upon seeing this, Helen instantly turned to Diana and cried out. “Diana, put the guns down! I think these two must be the help and back-up Luna sent back for us!”Diana blinked in surprise at that but she didn’t lower the guns down, even with her partner’s statement. “You sure about that? How do we know that they’re really legit--and not the same bloody wankers who sent in fakes to trick us straight into a trap?”“They have the same type of special device we used back in our previous ops, specifically in the missing cold kinds!” Helen said and showed the magic device to Diana’s view. “I think the Approval must have gone through and Luna must have sent these guys to come rescue us as she’s now allowed to send in Mundanes into the magic-kind ops now.”“I think we need to double-check and confirm first, before we start getting friendly and getting to know our so-called new teammates,” Diana still wasn’t putting her guns down as she advised this and Helen just sighed exasperated like she expected that response and decided to humor her partner and do what the other told her to do.Helen twisted the settings on the magic device for people-identifying scan mode and then she waved the device onto Mac and Jack from face to whole body and then the device beeped soundly and showed her the results and she went back to Diana’s side to show her too upon giving confirmation about the two male agents, still standing with hands up.“See? It’s all legit and this device is not broken or been tampered with,” Helen points out as she even used a free hand to point her finger at the screen to really show the results that the device is giving them.Both Mac and Jack slowly relax when Diana read the results on the device and then lowered the two guns on her hands finally from pointing at them.“Alright, looks like everything about them is clear and rock-solid. Wait…” Diana narrowed her eyes upon seeing something, looked closer to read it clearly before she turned to look at Jack with a blank look for a moment until she finally voiced out in question. “You were CIA?”Jack nodded, confirming that he was and she groaned aloud. “Great! Just what I need--a bloody spook!”Jack blinked in surprise and then glared at her offended. “Excuse you?”Luna intoned lightly into their conversation. [Oh, I forgot to mention--Agent Cross here has a certain dislike towards the CIA. ‘Spook’ is her term to calling all the CIA agents, members, and such as that.]Jack didn’t know whether to laugh or cry at this, while Mac tried to hold back his amusement for his poor partner.Helen must have noticed the slight change in their facial expressions and figured it out as she put on one of the extra comms into her ear while handing over the second one to her partner Diana. Once Helen sets it nicely tucked inside her ear, she spoke inquiring. “Luna? Is it you?”Luna said with a bright smile sounding through her voice. [Yes, it’s me. It is so good to hear you still alive and well, Agent Helen. I presume your luck has gotten you out safely as usual?]Diana snorted when she calmly puts on her comm and then heard the latter words. “Safely? Oh yeah right--Helen’s bloody luck got us missing our exfil point and sent us straight into the middle of a freaking gun fight! We nearly lost our lives when these pricking bastards were shooting at us like it’s the jolly hunting season or something.”“I told you it wasn’t my fault!” Helen protested vehemently.“Oh really? You said--and I quote-- ‘I think we should Apparate to the exfil point since we’re about to get there a little late’ --little? Seriously?!” Diana retorted with a pointed look.Helen sighed and was defeated by Diana’s reasonable statement and then turns to look at Mac and Jack with a warm gentle smile on her face--that instantly got Mac blushing at the sight and he tries to hide it away from Jack noticing it.“Even though you guys must have been briefed about us--I’m Helen Black, and this is my sister and partner Diana Cross. It’s nice to meet you…?” Helen asked inquiring about them, appearing like she’s suddenly interested about them and eager to know her new teammates in the Mundane side.“I’m Angus MacGyver, but you can call me Mac,” Mac quickly introduced himself, swiftly speaking before Jack might decide to butt in with his usual antics on bad humor or something. “This is my partner and friend, Jack Dalton. The other ones in the comms that you’ll meet later, is our other friends Riley Davis and Wilt Bozer.”Riley joined in. [Hey!]Bozer tuned himself in a friendly way. [What’s up!? I’m Bozer--but you can call me ‘Double-O-Boze’!]Helen smiled upon hearing them and nearly giggled at Bozer’s joke, while Diana grinned a little before she donned a very calm and serious look on her face.Luna also joined in to introduce one more teammate into their fold. [Director Matilda Webber is also with me, and she’s now in the know and part of this team unit alliance, which I’m now allowed to commence and maintain the lead for both Magical and Mundane operations.]Matty said through the comms polite and friendly. [You can call me Matty, Agents Black and Cross.]Helen and Diana have already known about Matty Webber since the beginning she sighed into Phoenix Foundation and was appointed Director for the Mundane side, and both of them exchanged silent looks like they’re already eager and excited to know more about their new teammates, as well as Luna’s new partner in the Director leadership ranks.After Mac and Luna finished introducing them, Jack finally decide to join in, turning on his charms as he flirted right at Diana, his gaze is focusing on. “Well, howdy, pretty lady!” he drawled in his natural Texan swagger.Helen held back her amusement upon instantly noticing and realizing this, and Mac rolled his eyes and shakes his head knowingly exasperated upon this scene. But Agent Diana Cross just looked right at Jack with a very disapproving and unimpressed look and snapped bluntly at him, “Sorry, Agent Dalton. But you’re not my type!”[Ooohh! Straight to the heart and instant burn--right there!] Bozer winced meaningfully as he said it.“Shut up, Bozer!” Jack grumbled through the comms and then he smiled widely, still trying to charm the blonde woman. “Hey now…there’s no need for the offensive, pretty lady. We’re here to rescue you and your partner.”The blonde female agent scoffed at him and glared around the deep dark room-like pit they’re now stuck in, even with the tied-up bad guys as added company. “Fat lot of good your so-called ‘rescue’ was--now we’re all trapped in here with no visible way out, besides the other one that we all just fell in, bloody idiot!”Agent Helen just sighed like she expected that reaction and turned to her partner. “Diana, please. At least they did come here to rescue us!” she pointed out exasperatedly at her.Diana just huffed and turned away, crossing her arms together and seemed to be sulking in some sort of corner of the big dark pit. The blonde agent looked like she wanted to vent her frustrations against the tied up guys or something but she decided to calm down and compose herself to what appeared to be her own persona on being a cold-type of serious and dangerous agent in the field, since it looked like everyone’s going to need somebody like her to get themselves out of there. Even though it looked like that in between this partnership, it is mostly Helen who was relied on and did all the work into completing the op and then finishing it straight to mission accomplished and all that, from Mac and Jack’s perspective and view on them.And it seems Helen knows what they’re thinking when her friendly smile turns into a serious frown as she asked at Mac straightly. “I don’t suppose you two have anything else on you, besides the comms and scanner device, to help us get out of here, along with these guys?”Mac didn’t like to disappoint the girl he’s having a crush on, just from falling in love with her by first sight, but he shook his head in a negative and said, “Only if you can count my Swiss Army Knife and Jack’s one and only gun on him, that is anything else.”Helen nodded like she knowingly expected that or something, then she turned her head and spins around slightly to see and search for anything that catches her eyes and make her think of something or come up with a bright idea to get them out of the hole they’re stuck in the Catacombs. Mac decided to tag along with her to help out and he’s interested into knowing more about her than he tries to let on, when he quickly read the personal file about her. And even though he’s trying his best to hide away his romantic crush towards Helen, he couldn’t help but also want to know more on her besides being smart and intelligent in a magical way, just like the kind of type he likes on a girl that he mentioned to Jack before.Much to Mac’s relief, it looks like Jack is focusing his attention to continuing his charm and trying to keep on flirting with Diana to get her interested on him, but it looks like Diana is donning her ‘Ice Queen’ mode and ignoring the poor man upon attempting to flirt his attention on her or something.It didn’t take long for Helen seemingly found or discovered something that will help--and Mac won’t admit it out loud but he liked how her eyes seemingly sparkle upon catching something of interest in her sights or an idea popping into her head. Helen bends over to pick up some little stones and rocks, which was strange, but then Mac remembers that Helen is a Charms and Transfiguration master--which he looked it up in the secret database like a magical ‘Google’ search back in Phoenix Foundation and learned and studied the magic terms he’s unfamiliar with upon briefly reading the magical agents’ dossiers and personal files. Mac figured and deduced that Helen can transform the rocks into something else that’s useful into getting them out of there and leave the place safely so he asked, “What are you going to turn them into for?”Helen smiled at him, almost making Mac blush again and trying to hold it back from showing visibly on his face, that he’s interested with what she’s going to do so she told him, “I’m going to turn and configure some of these pebbles and rocks into propelling climbing gear, but I only have enough mana to transform and conjure for the four of us and I don’t have enough to spare for these guys that Diana and I tied up before.”“Mana?” Mac asked curiously, very eager to absorb and listen to everything Helen says about more knowledge on Magic.Diana answered for Helen, “Mana is basically our term for our magical energy. Similar like how water energizes the human body, you Mundane beings rely to. Without Mana, we easily get exhausted and dry out from it, just like how easily you get dehydrated without drinking water for days.”Helen quickly reassured Mac when he looked a bit concerned upon knowing this. “But don’t worry, we don’t die if we run out of mana. We just get tired like when we run for so long on a marathon, trying to break the world-records for the Olympics or something like that.”“Speaking of transforming--why don’t you transform one of those little rocks into a teleportation device to get us out of here, instead of you two gals doing the job?” Jack asked, sharing his kind of bright idea.“You mean, a Portkey? Well, it could work but…” Helen trails off, glancing towards the hogtied up criminals with a meaningful pointed look in her face and Diana sighed upon instantly figuring out the problem.“Let me guess--the Portkey can only take away those guys but cannot bring us along with it to get out of here, huh?” Diana sarcastically said and Helen winced before she nodded, confirming in answer to Diana’s words. The blonde girl groaned and nearly threw her hands up in the air upon seeing Helen answer. “Great!”“Why not do both?” Mac offered saying when he suddenly got an idea in his own head and Helen and the other two turned to him in question and confusion. Mac quickly explained as he tries to, but he ended up rattling and rambling as usual in the scientific jargon, but then he became internally delighted when Helen also brightened up and joined him into speedily talking like him, sharing her ideas and theory to his idea and everything.They would have go on and on like that for hours but their enthusiastic idea-sharing and scientific-theory ranting was interrupted when Diana suddenly cried out in a loud complaint with her eyes turning to look up the ceiling with annoyance. “Ohh bloody hell…now there are two of them!”Jack nodded in agreement with her. “You said it, girlfriend.”Both Mac and Helen blushed slightly in embarrassment upon forgetting their partners are there with them and they can’t understand the kind of science and magic ‘talk’ they’re speaking and discussing to one another about it. Still, the two of them quickly went to work, with Helen transforming the exact kinds of items they need to get out, and Mac added in his input upon watching her work her magic, in case she might miss something upon transforming the rocks into the necessary important materials and stuff.First, Helen transformed a hand-sized rock into a sticky Portkey when Mac reassured her that the idea of transporting the bad guys back to HQ is a good idea since they need to interrogate them on why they were there at the Catacombs and why they tried to kill the two female agents in the first place, even if it’s by accident or coincidence. After Helen finished that, she handed it over to Diana who offered to do it and she did when she stuck the Portkey into one of the unconscious still tied up bad guys while Jack helped the blonde woman out into piling the guys together like a human-sized dog pile, as he also helped out into knocking the remaining conscious others out into unconsciousness so that they won’t struggle. After Diana made sure that the Portkey is sticking to one of the bad guys nicely stuck and tight, she activated it and Jack and her watched as the dog-pile of tied-up unconscious criminals were magically transported away, straight back to Phoenix Foundation, which she reported back to Luna about sending them over there and Luna affirmed that she’ll have other operatives expecting them when they arrive.Second and finally, Helen transformed the other remaining little rocks into the materials needed for climbing and such, with sturdy ropes, climbing equipment and for some reason, there appeared to be also heavy-filled sack-bags as well as wheeled rappelling gear like people would use for lifting other people by cranes or something similar like that. It seems that the wheel-kind of rappelling gear and other wheel-type stuff were all Helen’s idea, for she has a better one than Mac’s that instead of climbing back up the tunnel they fell and slide down through from before, they’ll all be using something much faster that will get them back up on the surface and go back out the same path where Mac and Jack went through before.“So basically you’re saying that we’re re-enacting the scene from ‘Alien vs Predator’ when the bad-ass gal and her Predator partner propel themselves up and fast by that sled thing to escape the big bad giant bomb before it exploded?” Jack asked inquiring when Helen was better into explaining clearly from the science jargon than Mac does. “Damn! You’re real scary with your kind of ideas, girl. I admit it’s awesome--but scary!”“Well, one thing I can tell you for sure as another added fact about my partner right here, besides being wickedly brilliant--is that she’s also a bloody adrenaline-seeking addict!” Diana said blandly to the point of sounding sarcastic or very serious when she told this to Jack.“Oh come on! It’s not like I’m the only one who has a love for flying!” Helen protested back at her.“Um…did you say--flying?!” Mac suddenly asked in a very scared nervous way, that made Jack sympathized with his partner upon remembering his innate inborn-like fear of heights.Helen quickly reassured him like she somehow also knew about Mac’s fear and said, “No, we’re not going to be flying, Mac. But…we will be doing similar something like that, except we have to cling and hold on very tightly with our rope lifelines just as the sack-bags helps send us up with the force of gravity itself--and a little nudge added in with magic--over right up until we reach the very surface of the tunnel.”Mac didn’t know whether he should be relieved or anxious about it as they all strap themselves tightly with the strong rope that they’ll be pulled up like how you’re suddenly being yanked up by a grabbing crane or something like that. And when they are now ready and prepared to ‘blast off’ and up of the sorts, it seems that Helen decided to help Mac out from his fear but he didn’t know that she’s going to do something unexpected towards him.“If I told you that there’s actually a simple way to completely erase your fear of heights--even for a short moment, would you trust me to do it for you?” Helen asked seriously at Mac.“Well, if it means that it will get us all out of here alive and safely back in the surface--then yeah! I’ll go for it.” he said, instantly agreeing without hesitation while he will wonder the thought later about how Helen knew about his fear of heights.Then Helen, without hesitation, pulled the confused MacGyver suddenly close to her and then completely got him into a full lip-locking kiss. Both Jack Dalton and Diana Cross stared stunned shocked by the unexpected action from Helen herself, as well as Mac when he froze like he’s been turned instantly into a statue and his eyes widened shocked too.Bozer cried worriedly when he noticed the sudden strange silence from the four of them. [Hey! What’s going on over there? What did she do to Mac?!]Jack snapped out of it and told Bozer and Riley through the comms. “Agent Black over here--just straight up kissed our boy MacGyver in a real passion love-lock right in the lips!”He can tell, even without them there, both of them on the other side of the comms had their mouths gaping wide-open in stunned shock. Jack isn’t sure how the two Directors back in America are reacting toward this, but he almost got the funny feelings deep down in his gut that Matty and Luna must be amused over this.Riley exclaimed incredulously shocked. [I’m sorry--what!?]Bozer suddenly cheered. [Alright! That’s my buddy boy, Mac--whoo! I knew my best friend’s got game!]Riley now exclaimed at him in shock. [Bozer!? Seriously?!]“Huh…well, I did not see or actually expect that one coming,” Diana commented, also shocked over this but not showing it on her face visibly, making her face keep being expressionless and blank. “I didn’t think Helen actually had it in her to do that!”After Helen was sure that she got Mac stunned enough to forget about his fear, she broke the kiss away and ducks her head slightly down, her cheeks blushing a bit with embarrassment, revealing that the magical woman likes Mac too, her feelings just the same as Mac feels about her from his crush and showing that she might have also fallen in love at first sight from seeing Mac’s handsome good looks.Once that was done, Helen and Diana paired together to be lifted up in a speedy way first, and Helen was still blushing as Diana smirked slyly and teased her about it before Jack watched them fly up and away like a blur when the rope yank them up back to the surface. Then it was Jack and Mac’s turn, the other man still looking stunned shocked from the unexpected kiss and Jack decided to tease the younger man about it for later, because he knows better than to snap him out of this love-dazed funk he’s stuck in.Jack carefully held Mac as he’s subconsciously aware a bit and then he pulled on the rope twice to let Helen know that they’re secure on the rope now and then he braced himself as well as holding on carefully at Mac when the two men were swiftly yanked up too, bringing them up speedily and very fast to the surface where they had fallen in.Once they made it, Helen and Diana helped the two guys get off the tight ropes bonding on them and once they reached ground surface, Mac finally snapped out of his stunned daze and was also blushing brightly with embarrassment like he’s instantly realized what just gone on and happened to him before and Helen knew it too as she tried to look away shyly, making Jack and Diana grin knowingly upon seeing this sight of the two crushing on one another like it’s their first time on love.It didn’t take them long to find their way back out and get out of the Paris Catacombs when they used the magic device again to guide and lead them the way to the exit. And when they finally made it out, relieving Helen and Diana from their worries upon thinking that they were never going to be able to escape after what just happened to them before.Riley contacted them through the comms that the road is clear and that it’s safe to return back to the hotel the Mundane team were all staying at temporarily. Jack was the one who drove them back and Mac rode shotgun as Helen and Diana rode in the back, looking almost completely tired like they went through one hell of an exhausting wringer from their failed op upon retrieving the ‘asset’ they’re supposed to extract out of France before and missed it.It wasn’t long when they went to the hotel they’re staying in to relax and rest first and then the next day later, the two magical agents and the Mundane team will return in the flight back to their country in America and then back to HQ in Phoenix Foundation. PARIS, FRANCE…A DAY BEFORE THEY LEAVE AND RETURN HOME TO AMERICA
Mac and Jack succeeded into finding Agent Helen Black and Agent Diana Cross in Paris and extracting them safely out of the famous Paris Catacombs the previous day before, when they were sent on the mission by Luna to rescue them. Even though they didn’t do much, except just search for them with the magic device, since Helen and Diana had no problem or had gone through any difficulty into stopping the bad guys from killing them before when the two women somehow managed to catch them by surprise and then magically send them back to Phoenix HQ for interrogation.Fortunately, their magic secret is still safe since Luna will be dealing with it personally upon ‘Obliviating’ them, which is erasing their memories, but Helen and Diana kept it secret about that particular memory-erasing magic spell from the others, because they don’t want to be judged by the Mundane agents with them, even though they’re trusted and worthy enough to be teamed up with.So far, when Mac and Jack brought the two agent witches to the hotel where they’re staying at temporarily for resting a day ago, and Helen didn’t mind upon spending the rest of the time, talking with Mac and answering any excited questions that he likes to know or learn about magic and everything about it. Bozer also joined in to also ask questions about it as well as confirming some particular topics, such as if it’s true or not whether a few movie or TV flicks that had magic in them are real or fake.Diana, on the other hand, had to stick around close by Riley’s side and she seemed a little uncomfortable that the blonde magical agent decided to sit beside her upon noticing that she’s got the kind of scary persona like a real ‘Ice Queen’ or something like that. But the only reason why she’s acting like that in her attitude was because she was very displeased and annoyed with Jack when he continued his attempts of his flirting attentions towards her and she decided to put him off by sitting alongside with another agent so that Jack would back off and go away.It didn’t take long for Diana to notice Riley’s uncomfortable state towards her as she sat down beside her silent and calm. So she decided to break the awkward kind of tension between them when Diana turned and looked straight at Riley and deftly spoke, “You must be Riley Davis. The info intelligence-gatherer--or rather, hacker of the team, I presume correctly, right?”Riley was a little nervous on being called out by an Elite Special Agent such as her--when she also looked into and read Agent Diana Cross’ personal file and dossier, so she didn’t voice out her response and just nodded, feeling like she didn’t want to embarrass herself if she replied with a funny stutter or something.Diana leaned closer towards her, almost making Riley feel more anxious but then she relaxed when the blonde female agent just asked her, softly whispering, “Just how do you deal with these kinds of people? Seriously--they’re enough to drive me to the brink of drinking myself until completely drunk!”Riley held back her snickering when she knew who exactly the people Diana is talking about and grinned back at her. “You get used to them. Trust me…I went through my fair share of the kind of escapades those two guys went through. And so far, they have gotten us out of every kind of messy and sticky situations alive many times more than I can almost count them all.”Diana closed her eyes shut like she had expected that response very grimly. “Oh, of course…bloody hell! I’m going to be literally suffering hell throughout all this until the bloody mission’s over and done with!”Riley blinked at that and tilt her head a little to the side confused, looking at her. “What? I thought your op failed when you missed retrieving your…asset, right?” she questioned her.Diana shook her head in a negative and clarified to her. “Actually, it’s not a total failure. Helen and I found a clue left behind by the asset. But I’m not going to tell you what it is since this mission is still classified against you Mundane people--no offense meant.”“None taken,” Riley said, not minding what Diana said about them. “I looked into the history of the Magical people and beings after we got briefed by Director Luna about all of you.” she confessed to the blonde witch. “God…you guys suffered much worse than the Jews have suffered from the Nazis and the Black Africans suffering from us Americans by prejudice and bias combined!”Diana casually shrugged like this didn’t phase her at all. “Well, we didn’t suffer that much…granted, back then the only thing we, witches and wizards, have only suffered were just the Witch Hunts, Salem Trials, and all the gruesome brutal death sentences, such as drowning, hanging, stone-beating, as well as being burned on the stakes and such.”Diana continued explaining and telling the gist of the Magicals’ history so that Riley would be reassured. “We all had gotten more clever and smarter into using our magic to trick the Mundanes into thinking that we’re all fantasy and myth and essentially use it to escape and hide from them. It was hard though long ago, since there hasn’t been a place safe enough for our whole community to hide safely yet. That was when sometime long ago back then, had finally come upon the Great Divide, when the magical barrier was erected by our most powerful wizard in history--second to Merlin--and the enchanted wall was able to completely separate the Mundane from the Magical societies.”Riley also read about that too, even though her heart really broke for the Magical people for all they suffered through, running around and about in fear from the Mundane people who were blinded by their own and prejudice as they hunt them until extinction. But she was glad and relieved when she read most of the history parts that showed her that the Magical are living peacefully and safely when the ‘Great Divide’ event had happened with this wizard creating this powerful magic invisible wall that separated the Mundane population from the Magical one. Granted, she also read the fact that the Magical still roam among the Mundane people, mostly the ones who work in secret agencies to ensure the protection of their kind and keeping the secret of their existence from the Mundane and the likes of that. And there’s not been one single record of a Mundane person ever actually managing to find out about the Magical community as well as their secret societies, thanks to their powerfully enforced magic and all that. But Riley pitied them when she read some parts in their history that they still have cautions and tensions against the Mundane, like concerning relationships, either family or the romantic kinds. Riley can understand why the Magicals have been that wary and cautious for so long, since it’s been ingrained with them of their fear against the Mundane from what their ancestors have all suffered through. In the slightly same comparison in Riley’s mind, Bozer has similarly went through the same thing like the Magicals, since his old ancestors in his family bloodline have suffered through forced slavery by the Americans back in those old days in the past long ago.It looked like Bozer seemed to sense the grim mood on Riley and Diana upon turning his attention at them, so he went to make some English tea for them as best he could, to suit Diana’s tastes and get on her good side or something. When he came over and brought the two cups for the two girls, each of them took it and Riley watched as Diana inspected her drink in the tea cup as if trying to assess if it’s brewed suitably, before she finally takes a tentative sip, looked thoughtful for a slight moment and then turned to Bozer and nodded approvingly for his tea-brewing skills. That made Bozer relax and felt happy that he succeeded in being good friends with Diana, as well as Riley who held back her amused smile on seeing Diana attempting to not show the pleased expressions on her face and keep up with the ‘icy-type’ persona she’s donning on herself.OOOOO
DARK PHOENIX JET PLANE…ON MIDWAY FLIGHT HEADING HOME, THAT IS AMERICA
The next day had finally come for the whole team of the Mundane and Magical to board back on the Phoenix black jet plane and fly back to America, leaving France behind without looking back. As Helen relaxed relieved when they’re now flying high up in the air, traveling back towards America, she suddenly thought of something and despite that her partner Diana glared at her to not do it, the other magical agent did it anyway, revealing the clue that the ‘asset’ of their failed op had left behind for them or maybe for someone else. And Mac was the only one who noticed this, while Jack and Bozer were chatting about something and Riley was looking into something else in her computer rig.It seemed strange enough, that the clue left behind by the unknown mysterious ‘asset’ that Agent Helen and Diana were supposed to retrieve him and bring him back to Phoenix HQ, were two Rubik’s Cubes, only instead of various colors, it was all alphabet letters, variously mixed up in all sides as well as Mac can see sharply that there is some repeated letters in two or three sides that he noticed. It didn’t take long for Mac to remember that Helen is an expert cryptographer and elite code-breaker, so he thought, at first upon seeing them, that the Rubik’s Cubes were for her to pass the time and it’s her own personal little habit, just as he does the same, making cute little sculptures and designs with paperclips. But he didn’t know that the Rubik’s Cubes were the clues left behind from that classified op the two female agents were on and failed to complete since the asset didn’t come or was not there back in Paris.It didn’t take long for him to figure out that it’s not the case when Helen seemed to have a slightly difficult time on solving the letter puzzle on one of the Rubik’s cube she’s trying to break the mystery of it. It took about five minutes or so, for Helen to give up on solving it with defeat but then she glanced right into Mac’s eyes and he blushed upon being caught for watching her try to solve the Rubik’s cube. Then he became confused when she seemed to think of something while looking at him with a deep penetrating gaze, and after a few seconds, it looks like Helen made her decision, called back to Phoenix Foundation, at Director Luna’s number upon contacting her straight up right then and there.Luna quickly answered, showing herself on one of the monitor screens and there’s Director Matty there beside her, both of them still in the War room like they have stayed there the whole time Mac’s team have left to rescue and retrieve Helen and Diana. She said in a light bright tone. [Oh! Hello, Agent Black. I wasn’t expecting your call until all of you return to Phoenix.]“Luna, I know that you teamed us up into this alliance, so that means we’re all friends here and that you can call me Helen as you normally and usually do,” Helen pointed out with a smile.Matty cleared her throat and gave a pointed look, not noticing that Luna held back an amused grin on her face but it showed in her eyes. [Agent Black. I know very well that calling each other names so familiarly is all good and all that--but this is not a family house. So at the very least, be professional and formal while on the job.]Helen gave a slight cringing look on her face and looked at Matty as she protested indignantly. “There’s nothing wrong with being familiar and friendly and all that, Matty--sheesh! You really need to lighten up!”Diana snorted and joined in, speaking. “Don’t bother with Agent Black here, Matty. She’s never been one to follow the rules--and that’s also including following protocols, even being professional formal and having good manners right here and then and everywhere else.”“Oy! I do so follow the rules--and the policies, protocols and all the formal stuff when I want, need, or was ordered to! Besides, the only thing that I do not do--is just being stuffy and firm all the time like you guys!” Helen pointed out, protesting vigorously.Diana narrowed her eyes at her partner as she said testily, “You better not be insinuating that I’m like them.”“Of course not! I’m just stating my case!” Helen defended herself from what she just said.Luna cleared her throat to get their attention and stop an impending argument that’s about to stir between Helen and Diana. Once she’s satisfied that they all went silent, including Matty beside her, she asked. [Is there something the matter that you need to contact me here early, Agent Helen?]Even though Luna obliged a little upon calling her by name familiarly, Helen didn’t mind at all when the Magical Director added in the ‘Agent’ ranking part, and then she suddenly went serious and it’s like she lightened the mood a bit on purpose so that the others won’t notice the grave kind of situation, that’s only known to the Magicals, and it seems Helen decided to break said-rules or some ‘promise’ she had made between them when she asked Luna the important and most serious questioning statement.And this became a slight sudden surprise for Luna and Diana when Helen abruptly said, “Luna, since we’re teaming up with this Mundane team together--I believe it’s best that he knows the truth now. I know this is against protocol but--he has the right to, and there’s also the added factor that he can help us on this, since it concerns him.”Mac and the other Mundane teammates became confused upon their sharp hearing eavesdropping into this strange kind of conversation they’re involving themselves into. But it sounds like Helen wanted them to know whatever classified op or something she and Diana are working into, it seems that they need help on this one. However, both Director Luna and Matty frowned like they did not expect Helen’s inquiry over who the ‘he/him’ she’s talking about and that she’s insistently requesting that this person must know about something.Luna was silent like she’s pondering thoughtfully over Helen’s sincere request from her serious statement, but Matty was frowning fiercely and the negative expression on her face doesn’t look really good, as it seemed like she’s very upset and angry by the kind of gall Helen just said to them, even though she requested about it politely and nicely.But it looked like Matty is dropping the pleasantries as she snapped at Helen, making Mac and his teammates flinch in sympathy for the poor magical agent, that’s going to get the earful from ‘Matty the Hun’ herself. [You’re way out of line and treading on thin ground, Agent Black. You know very well why HE should not know about this matter. It’s for his own--]Matty was suddenly interrupted by Helen, who surprised the others, when she boldly faced Matty off without hesitation. “Matty, if you dare finish that sentence, then I won’t hesitate to take over as pilot on this jet-plane right here and turn this plane right around and fly where we need to go so that he’ll know the truth, even if it’s for his own so-called ‘good’ and protection. I care very much that this classified op is a delicate matter but--Agent MacGyver here--Mac deserves to know the truth!”Once Helen stated that, the others are once again surprised, especially Mac, and they saw that Diana, Luna, and Matty had grave troubled expressions on their faces like they are not on Helen’s side to tell Mac what kind of ‘truth’ that he needs to know. However, it was Luna who decided for all of them when she rose her right hand and twiddled her fingers lightly on the intricate acorn-shaped earrings she’s wearing in a weird way while she’s thinking silently and then after she did her little habit, she turned to look straight at Mac.Mac was a little uncomfortable with the way Luna was staring at him with those mysterious beady-like eyes like she knows something about him deeply in a bad way or something worse and ominously foreboding, and even though Luna is just gazing at him from a monitor screen, Mac felt a little nervous from being stared at like that.But he did not expect the next words coming out from Luna’s lips to completely stun him into full body and mind shock.Luna said sagely calm. [Agent MacGyver. The classified op that Agent Helen and Diana are on…the ‘asset’ person they were supposed to retrieve--it was your father, James MacGyver.]With that said, Mac, Jack, Riley, and Bozer were all rendered stunned silent instantly, and it felt like hours again that they were taken aback by surprise from the shocking statement given by Luna, but in reality, it was only seconds and they were instantly snapped out of it when Diana snapped her fingers, clicking them soundly to get their attention.Mac shook his head like he’s trying to make sure that he wasn’t hearing things, but when he saw the two Directors looking serious on the screen as well as Agent Diana looking at him with a studying intense glare and Agent Helen looking at him with a bit of sympathy, before he finally voiced out the first questions that came to his mind. “How--how do you know my father? And why was he the ‘asset’ supposed to be retrieved by Agent Helen and Cross?”Agent Helen looked like she wanted to tell the story for Mac to understand but she went silent under Luna’s stern look, showing that she’ll be the one taking over into telling Mac everything about his father and why the Magicals know him or something.Luna cleared her throat to make sure that her voice is clear for them all to listen, except Matty, Helen, and Diana were the only ones who know about it and then she told them the story and everything that Mac needed to know about the whole entire truth of his father, at last.[Let me start from the beginning. Years ago, about the time your mother passed away, your father worked on something, thinking that it would change the world so that no more tragedies, such as your mother’s death would happen again.]Luna began and Mac already knows this cause he could never forget his mother dying from the car accident but he was silent upon wondering internally about what his father was thinking upon how he was going to do that upon hearing Luna’s statement.[He was working on building a satellite device that would not only detect and search for offenders or criminals of any kinds, but also predict the enemy target’s next movements before they attack, cause destruction, and chaos. That also included the minor ones, such as small-time violent offenders, mentally-ill ones, or similar of the kinds.]Riley perked up like she seemed to recognize this concept of an idea that Luna is telling them. “I’ve heard of this theoretical idea before, when it was brought into the Pentagon and given to the officials there for approval upon building such a device. They dismissed it, thinking it’s all bogus and impossible to be able to create such an algorithm or system like that and have it built into one of their GPS satellites for that to happen, since there weren’t any reliable tests from it.”Jack looked at Riley with a weird look as he asked,  “Uh, Riley? How do you know about that, since it was from the Pentagon?”Riley winced upon forgetting that she didn’t tell her team that she had hacked into the Pentagon long ago when she was the infamous hacker ‘Artermis37’ before. But Luna continued on, making Riley relieved upon the attention being turned away from her. [That is correct, Agent Davis. Mac’s father, James was the one who come up with the idea to the government superiors but they dismissed him as a delusional crazy man, even though he’s a legit scientist and inventor capable of creating such a thing. After the refusal and dismissal, your father decided to break the rules and built the said satellite in secret while staying with his family and it took him about five years to do so until something unexpected happened that got him into Phoenix’s radar.]Jack winced, “Knowing your dad, Mac. The thing he was building on must have exploded or did something worse than that, that got your dad into massive trouble with the Phoenix agent dudes!” Mac glared at his partner for that outlandish statement, but it turned out to be partly true as Luna continued saying.[And you would be correct, Agent Dalton. Instead of a device that would detect any kind of crimes in a predictable earlier way for other law enforcement and government agents to intercept and prevent that, your father accidentally created a device that could detect Magicals--instead of criminals.]Bozer flinched visibly in a big way. “Ooh snap! Don’t tell me--that’s how Mac’s dad found out about the BIG secret concerning the special kind from the other side of the world?” he asked cringing, hoping that it didn’t happen back then, because he also read the history like Riley about the Magicals and their old past and how their distrust and fear against the Mundane people still live on even up to today. And Bozer thought that African-Americans would hold a long grudge since the very day they’ve been forcibly enslaved by the ‘White’ people and all that back in the ancient days.Luna nodded. [That is correct, Agent Bozer. But rest assured, no harm was done to Mac’s father upon discovering that he found us with that Mundane device he built that is supposed to detect and find criminals. The higher-ups were very impressed with James’ work over what he built that they instantly offered him a placement to work in the Phoenix so that he can continue building the device and finish it and they promised him that it will work as he wanted it to do so, but with an added feature that it can also detect and find Magical criminals on the loose in the Mundane and Magical sides, so that our agents would capture them before they try to evade and escape. However…the higher-ups gave a grave ultimatum to James MacGyver besides the offer they gave him. Actually--I think they scared him into accepting so that he would leave and abandon his family without warning and then disappear, as you all know it when he left Agent MacGyver when he was ten years old.]Jack knew instantly from the look on Mac’s face that he wanted to ask but looked like he doesn’t want to, so he took over into asking. “What did they do, Boss Lady Luna?”Luna didn’t seem to mind the nickname Jack has dubbed her as she said grimly like she’s very upset and mad at her own superiors when she found out about it. [They basically told him that his family will be in danger if he keeps staying with them, even with the promise that James will keep secret about the Magical side. But the Higher-ups didn’t trust him so they threatened him into leaving his family and disappear into one of the hidden societies in the Magical side and let him continue his work on the ‘searcher’ device as long as he could. It also didn’t help that Matty was investigating James MacGyver at that time, and her interference as a Mundane CIA agent on spying at MacGyver was taken advantage of by the Higher-ups to solidify Mac’s father’s fears when they showed him fake proof that his family is targeted because of him.]Thus, explaining the reason why Matty was there at the old film video clue that Mac’s father left behind back then. Matty confirmed it when she told them that she was sent by the CIA agency to look into an ‘anonymous’ call concerning a possible terrorist and she was the agent at the time sent to investigate the MacGyver family upon pinpointing there. Upon finding nothing, the investigation and case concerning James MacGyver was dismissed and the file got redacted and classified when the man suddenly disappeared but no one in the CIA took action into searching for him since there was nothing on him worth looking into or taking him in. It didn’t take long for Matty to realize the real truth about James MacGyver when she signed into Phoenix and was debriefed by the Magical Director about it. And the main reason why she lied about knowing Mac’s father is because she believed that Mac would blame her for being one of the people responsible for Mac’s father leaving and abandoning his family, and she truly regrets it even though it’s not really her fault.“They…forced him…to leave me?” Mac asked in a soft voice, almost sounding like he’s turned back into a 10-year-old kid again when he remembered that very day that he could never forget when his father left him and disappeared out of the blue so suddenly. His grandfather used to say that ‘everything happens for a reason’--and Mac didn’t think that the real reason why his father left was not because of him, as he used to think that almost all his life…but because of Phoenix Foundation itself for scaring and threatening his dad into leaving, because they made him think that his family is compromised with danger if he stayed with them.Jack growled angrily, instantly disliking the ‘Higher-Ups’ of Phoenix Foundation more and more over what they heartlessly and cruelly did to Mac’s dad as well as upsetting his young kid. “Those bastards…!”[However, all of you are going to be more shocked when you hear this--your father did a ‘Houdini’ about a few years ago, back when you joined the Army, Agent MacGyver, and the Higher-ups were all losing their heads trying to find him, when he didn’t finish the device as promised since they wanted him to get it done, but out of the blue, he suddenly vanished and abandoned the project that he’d been working on, for most of his whole life when he left.]Mac was stunned to hear this knowledge and then Jack and Riley whooped, cheering for Mac’s dad when he did that, as well as Bozer exclaimed with a grin. “Alright! Way to go Daddy Mac! Wow--who would have thought that he had it in him to pull one up over those ‘Higher-up’ dudes and went and vanished, like the elusive ‘Lupin’ himself!?”Mac looked at his best friend a bit weirdly, “I’m pretty sure that’s not the kind of reference you were looking for, Bozer.”Matty cleared her throat to get their attention and when they went silent, she was satisfied and nodded to Luna to continue. Luna thanked her with a silent returning nod and then she looked at them with her face looking more grave than before, like there’s some more bad news that she hates to give to them, especially to Mac--even though the latter part is also good news for them. [My superiors of Phoenix Foundation were quite persistent into finding James MacGyver and getting him back to finish the work he’s supposed to do, so they sent many agents--Mundane and Magical alike--to search for him but so far they haven’t found anything and they end up empty, ever since he disappeared from their grasp. But when the Higher-ups debriefed me into this op after I proved myself and signed in as Director of Phoenix Foundation of the Magical operations, they made the mistake into appointing me into this classified secret op to retrieve Mac’s father back, at the time, because they didn’t know that I have other agendas in mind concerning your father, Agent MacGyver. And that would be upon retrieving your father, putting him into a secure safe house and have him finally reunited with his family--meaning you.]“Alright! It’s official--you’re my favorite boss lady in the whole wide world!” Jack cheered again, saluting an empty gesture of a toast towards Luna.Matty instantly snapped sharply, making Jack wince and the others snicker as well as Agent Helen and Diana smile amused. [Agent Dalton, don’t make me order you back into HQ and have you stuck in a desk doing paperwork!]“Sorry, Matty. Won’t happen again. Shutting up now,” Jack instantly said.Luna held back her giggles before she got serious and continued. [I assigned Agent Helen Black and Agent Diana Cross into this op to ‘retrieve’ your father and have him brought back to safety in one of the secret and unknown secure safe houses that I built up without the Higher-Ups’ knowledge. Once they got assigned to the classified case, they instantly went to work into searching your father and they managed to quickly do that without difficulty, thanks to the few clues your father left for you.]Agent Diana finally joined into speaking, continuing where Luna is leaving off for them on what they found and discovered during their op for Mac’s father. “Upon looking into that clue about that ‘Charles Peffer’ guy and his dossier--when we sneaked into your house and made copies of your father’s clues, we figured out that your father must have been thinking ‘outside-the-box’ style in mind, just like you do, so we went to last known location where this Charles person had disappeared upon finding out that he accidentally stumbled into a magical escape route, thus the reason why he suddenly vanished into thin air and there was no trace of him.”Agent Helen chimed in, telling Mac before he start asking questions and demanding at them on what they found. “That last known location was actually at some unnamed undiscovered island near the Philippines. So Diana and I went there, and found another clue left behind by your dad and…he also left a video for you too, Mac.”“We think that somehow your father might have predicted or known that you would be looking for him years later or so. So he left a video of himself, telling and explaining himself about the truth of the reason why he left you and then had disappeared and was gone most of your life--he even included the reason on his sudden disappearing act from Phoenix years later by then,” Agent Diana said bluntly in an emotionless tone, that got her partner Helen glaring at her upon sounding a little heartless and cruel, which Diana is really not.“I want to see it,” Mac instantly declared.Diana gave a silent pointed look to her partner Helen, telling her wordlessly that it’s a bad idea but Helen shook her head, giving the returning silent look back that Mac does have the right to know and deserves to see it.So Diana sighed with defeat and asked Luna. “You still got the video that we sent back to you, Luna?”This time Luna is hesitant to show and play the video for Mac to see. [Oh dear…are you sure this is a good idea? When we saw the video ourselves, it was--]“Director Luna, please…he needs to see it,” Helen pleaded her boss and also her friend.A tense silence for a moment…[Very well then.]They watched Luna quickly set up the video which she surprisingly brought with her in case this happens or not, clicked and pressed on few buttons or something in her magic wrist-band before she nodded satisfied that the video is ready to play the message left by Mac’s father.[Brace yourself, everyone. The video you’re about to see and watch…is quite heartbreaking.]Luna warned them in a very sad tone, that got them all tensing with anticipation and anxiety over the tragic-like sounds of her voice when she said it.Mac almost leaned forward, bending slightly half over like he’s trying to look closer to the screen so that he wouldn’t miss the video recording as it played whatever message his father left him, and though Director Luna, Director Matty, Agent Helen, and Agent Diana were the only ones who already saw the video recording, they also watched this with the others so that when it ends, they’ll give comfort or reassurance when the others need it.They watched as another monitor screen showed an unfamiliar room, that appeared to be an office space or work-station room in a homey house of sorts. Then Mac and the others saw James MacGyver settle himself to sit on the comfy chair, right in front of the camera facing it, and it looks like the kind of video recorder he’s using and video-making, must be some older model like a camcorder or something similar like that, and they see that Mac’s father look very old now--or it might be just his appearance with noticeable dark gray flecks on his slightly overwhelming pale gray-white hair, making his age really look like he’s much too old than he used to be normally and supposedly during the years he had been gone mostly from Mac’s life before when the time passed on since the very day he left him.James cleared his throat and fix himself a bit like there might be a mirror beside the recording device there to make himself look pleasant and presentable as he can or tries to. And then he started the message, as the video recorded everything, speaking for the first time since Mac has seen and heard from him when he disappeared about 15 years ago or more so.
“Testing, testing…is this on? It’s working right? Is it recording? (squints his eyes, narrowing them a bit like he’s trying to spot something before he nodded satisfied) Right, hey there! It’s me, James MacGyver. Logging in for the first--and last time since…how long has it been, 10? No--was it 13 years? (clears throat) Right, I’m rambling on. Sorry!” the man in the video recording said, who is James MacGyver, Mac’s father.
“Damn…your old man looks better than I thought he wouldn’t be already!” Jack commented with a low whistle upon seeing that Mac’s father is still fit in his prime, despite the appearance of his old age now or sometime ago when this video was recorded.Mac and Bozer instantly hushed at him hissing to be silent while Riley held back her amused grin when Jack looked a bit affronted that the other two boys acted that way against him. Diana shook her head a bit over this while Helen coughed, hiding the snickers behind her raised hand.“This video is made for my one and only son, in the whole wide world, Angus MacGyver.” James took a deep breath like he’s calming and preparing himself to say whatever he needed to say. “Angus…son, I know you have a lot of questions. Like why I disappeared and left you with your grandfather, so suddenly out of the blue, and have been gone for the entirety of your life--but believe me when I say this, I never wanted to leave you. I never even thought about it, even after your mother’s death. I swear it in my heart. (stops for a second with shock on his face and then he chuckled) Oh my--listen to me say such things, talking like this. I can’t believe I’m sincerely speaking from the heart …here in this video. But--that’s not the point. What I’m going to tell you, Angus, is something that I’m sure you wouldn’t have dreamed of finding out. I also discovered that there’s no problem into sharing the truth here in this recording video when I found out about it--and I’m sure you’re confused as hell, wondering what I’m talking about. So…here goes. The BIG truth!” It didn’t take long for Mac to listen, watch, and then realize that the big truth, mostly half of it, is that James had found out by accident about the Magical side of the world, got recruited into Phoenix because they are interested with the project he’s working on the satellite device ‘searcher’ and offered a lifetime deal for him to continue working on it with unlimited supplies and time so that he’ll finish it, with the new added features he’s been ordered to install for the Magicals too. “You should have seen it, Angus! When I visited some of their hidden Magical places on the other side--it was amazingly spectacular! Forget the laws of physics and all that--their kind of Magic goes beyond than any expectations you could have read from books, seen from movies, heard from stories and legends, magicians with their tricks--hell, even way beyond than how we all imagine it!” Mac chuckled, smiling at the sight how excited and eager his father looked in the video upon finding out about Magic, the same feelings he felt upon already knowing it and briefed from Luna about it. Jack knew that Mac must be thinking that when they find his father, he’ll be asking him about the magical places he had visited and will be planning to go there with him after their search mission for Mac’s father is over.Jack would have added in a joke that Mac’s dad is now using modern slang now, but then they all noticed that James went from looking excited into anxious nervousness, his eyes glancing around and about like he’s making sure that he’s really alone and there’s no one in the area at all but him only. My son, these people the ‘Higher-ups’ --I never met them in person actually--they scared me into leaving you and your grandfather alone forever, when they said that the very worst people among the Magical population, will hurt you and your Grandpa Harry. At first, I didn’t believe them, thinking that they’re doing this to make sure that I stay by their side to keep the secrets about Magic and everything. And even though, I did promise them that I will keep silent about it, they didn’t trust me enough to keep the secret quiet, so they somehow hired someone very bad on the outside and it didn’t take long for them to show me proof of that bad person they hired, to stalking and watching us. When they showed me the picture evidence, it was right at the time that you were with me during our special lessons on building and making stuff--right there at the workshop of our old house!” “Oh those fu--!” Jack growled angrily upon being reminded of what the Phoenix higher ‘superiors’ have cruelly done to Mac’s dad but his curse words were instantly interrupted by Matty, except she surprised them when she said.[Better get in line, Dalton. I would have come home but I knew that they would also be keeping an eye on you, so I had to disappear until the time comes that they finally gave up searching for me.” Mac truly wondered what it was that his father found out that got him so scared and overly paranoid, it’s obvious in his body language that he spent almost his whole life looking over his shoulder after he escaped from Phoenix and ran away into hiding wherever he is, and it’s like he still thinks he’s still back in their clutches and chained in the kind of prison he’s been staying before, that got him haggard like this and almost making him age faster than normal, which is not a healthy look for his poor dad. Mac and the others watched as James made a shaky breath, trying to compose himself to normal calmly and then continued. “For what it’s worth…I am truly sorry that I abandoned you, son. But you should know that--I would give anything in the world, to take back my stupid decision into leaving you, everything bad that I’ve done or might have done to you while I was gone and far away from you…so I can stay by your side, watch you grow up and be proud of any accomplishments or successes you have made of yourself. (sniffles, tearing up more) but I can’t . I know in my heart that I’ll never be able to, nor will I ever come home. Not after what happened, especially not after what I’ve done--with or without my knowledge until it’s too late. Even though I’ve atoned for it by escaping and went into hiding and I’m now suffering a grave punishment for it. (chuckles dimly) I guess the recent diagnosis that revealed itself to me when that life-changing development that came to me unexpectedly--was truly a suitable divine punishment of some kind when I found out about it. What did he mean by that, the one he said ‘life-changing development’ or the other things he said in the video? And why did he run away and went into hiding?”This time, when Helen seemed honest and forthcoming to telling Mac the truth before, she now looks like she’s hesitant to tell him what’s wrong with his father as she, Diana, Luna, and also Matty knows it, while Diana gave the knowing look to her partner that completely says ‘I told you so!’ like she knew Mac’s reaction to this video.It was Luna who fortunately answered for Helen’s indecision but she also sounded hesitant when she said. James’ tumor is benign and treatable to be removed instantly by surgery but…the tumor is pressing somewhere wedged within the temporal lobe and it’s affecting him there--not in a very good way.]“Temporal lobe…are you saying…the tumor--it’s affecting my dad’s mind…and making him lose his memories or something!?” Mac said horrified, despite having no doctor’s degree or something, he’s vastly well-learned on the knowledge of everything medical and health-related.Luna said gravely, [No, it’s much worse than that…the tumor in his brain, it is affecting his mind…to the point in similarity between a person with Alzheimer’s or someone with mentally-ill thinking set, making him like a crazy madman of the sorts.]“Oh God…that’s even worse than what my old great Grandpa suffered through when he got Alzheimer’s and forgot about my family,” Bozer commented and then he winced upon regretting saying it out loud since Mac remembered that too when Bozer’s family practically raised Mac ever since his father left and abandoned him with his Grandpa Harry to care for him, up until Bozer came along and his family cared for Mac too.“Are you sure that it’s really benign? What if…?” Mac didn’t want to ask this but he had to know, considering that his dad is not only suffering in fear from hiding the corrupted ‘Higher-up’ Phoenix people who were trying to find him, but also finding out that James is suffering from this tumor and the horrifying theories that come up in his head upon his father might have already lost his mind, gone crazy or something far worse than that.Diana instantly intervened, taking over into speaking. “We’ve looked into the matter about it when the case was handed over to us on searching your father. So far…your dad’s head has been clear and safe since he left and escaped the Higher-up’s clutches and went into hiding. He’s been successful into somehow staying off the grid and hiding in wherever unknown secret hole he’s living in. But…that changed about a year and a half ago--when you and your team were brought in and signed up into Phoenix Foundation.”Helen took her turn now as she pressed on buttons or clicked on something in the jet to bring up more videos into the monitor screens for them. After she did that, she looked at Mac seriously and also with sympathy. “Brace yourself…the videos of the short security footage or camera clips that have caught sight of your father… are very unsettling and nerve-wracking,” she warned Mac and the others.Mac, Jack, Riley, and Bozer were all nervous and in anticipation, trying to make themselves ready and prepared to watch whatever Helen is going to show them as she played the few videos that have caught or seen sightings of Mac’s father and were fortunately recorded into the database upon discreetly retrieving them without their superior’s knowledge, including the government itself.Helen and Diana showed them the captured short videos of the cameras catching sight of James MacGyver wandering about in his times of hiding, all disguised by secret magical means, which Diana points out for them when they became a little confused on why they’re seeing a stranger instead of the person they’re looking for. Mac was glad and impressed that his dad somehow managed to grab and get needed materials for himself to blend in the crowd under good disguises and hide from anyone, even any enemies that are still searching and hunting for him.Then they all tensed, despite the forewarning given by Agent Helen, when they saw the scene of James, in the guise of a homeless man, reading from a torn-up ratted old newspaper like he’s trying to get updates from any recent news, then a minute later, they saw that his head slowly looked up, facing right at the camera focused on him or something, and he seemed to be in some sort of drugged haze or something like that, his eyes looking blank and distant like he has finally lost his head and appearing like he’s turned into a mindless zombie of sorts. They all tensed even more when the video showed them that the camera was hacked by someone secretly honing into James MacGyver and a few minutes later, they noticed two or three suit-wearing people, that appeared to be secret agents, running in a dash to get to the disguised homeless man before they lose him. Diana almost snorted when she keenly heard Riley and Bozer muttering anxiously for Mac’s dad to snap out of it now and get away. And as if on cue, James blinked like he finally snapped out of his daze, tensing like he instantly sensed trouble coming near him and quickly left his spot and disappeared, making the agents frustrated and annoyed when they lost him again. They sighed with relief upon seeing that the ‘agents’ have failed to capturing James again in their fruitless search for him, but it looked like they’re still persisting to catch him and it was really nerve-wracking and heart-stopping tensions when almost the same thing have happened on the slight scenes and events from the other three short videos that have sightings of Mac’s dad in various disguises that seemed to be very well-made and better than Bozer’s disguise designs or somebody else very good like that.So far, Mac’s dad James MacGyver have been successful into evading capture and losing his pursuers upon swiftly disappearing, but in all their minds, they know deep down that it’s only a matter of time that James’ tumor will slowly make him lose his mind and he won’t be able to snap out of it if he goes into another mindless blank daze or crazy bout when it happens and he’ll get caught the next time then, when it happens.And Mac instantly asked right at Helen and Diana. “What was the clue that my dad left, that got you into Paris, France anyway?!”He needs to know everything that his dad must have gone through while he’s in hiding and he might be able to understand and know more about him on the reason why he left such strange clues, such as the ones he had already found.Diana took out the clue that she and Helen had taken with them after following up on the ‘Charles’ clue and handed it over to Mac for him to see it. “That was the clue left there from the last one and Helen instantly deduced that your father was leading us to Paris, by thinking ‘outside the box’ again, upon putting that and making her instantly think of the infamous Catacombs there from that familiar phrase.”The said phrase that Diana was talking about, written by hand into a small old-type scroll was “ABANDON ALL HOPE, YE WHO ENTER HERE”. It was the infamous worded phrase used in ‘Dante’s Inferno’, and added as a fact that it was in reference to another book or movie, that pointed out that the phrasing can be found visibly in the famous underground tunnels, that is the Catacombs of Paris. Thus it is the main reason why Agent Helen and Diana went there, thinking that Mac’s father might be there, where he’s been hiding in all that time since he escaped and got away from Phoenix, and went there to retrieve him--but in the end, he wasn’t actually there and had left another clue for either his pursuers to give up…or continue on to a possible fruitless search for him, possibly with the man found in the end or not, depending the kind of people looking for James MacGyver determinedly--and that particular kind, is like his son Mac.Mac instantly figured out what the clues Helen and Diana have found and his eyes focused right on the two Rubik’s cubes on Helen’s hands. “Those were the next clues left by my dad?” he asked, hoping that it is and wanting to solve it with her.Helen nodded in agreement and held up one of them for the others to see. “Your dad switched the colors and put in letters for us to solve whatever ‘right’ words that should be solved into these cube puzzles, to let us find out what is the next step into finding him or he might have left another message to make us give up finding him as he already tried to before, with the video he left you, Mac.” her face pinched a little in frustration as she admitted honestly. “I tried to think of words that your father might have left to solve the two clues here but…”“Let me guess, you hit a dead-end and found ‘nada’?” Jack asked sarcastically and then he flinched when Diana rounded to him and gave a dangerous glare at him.Helen didn’t mind this as she smiled at him reassuringly. “Actually, yes. I’m just a little clueless on what kind of words did Mac’s father fixed on the cubes to reveal the next clues or something he did upon modifying them.” she looked at Mac like she’s interested into him, that almost got him blushing again, and she handed over the two Rubik’s cubes for him to try to solve them. “Here. I believe they’re yours, supposedly. Still, it’s worth a try for you to take a shot.”Even though Mac doesn’t play or solve with Rubik’s cubes for a long while, since he last got one and easily solved it back when he was a kid from only one time in the past, but his dad must have known that before he left and he made this especially for him to solve, not knowing whether he’s going to grow up as a puzzle-solving code-breaker or something. Helen told Mac that she didn’t find any noticeable latches or something on the Rubik’s cubes to figure out the real answer to this puzzle about the alphabetic letters on them, instead of colors. But it didn’t take long for Mac to see it and finally figure out what’s interesting about these lettered cubes.“Most of the letters in these two cubes are small but--there are only a few of them that are capitalized and I think they form into words!” Mac said, deducing instantly upon seeing them.Helen gasped, “You’re right! How come I didn’t notice that?”She was about to reach over and grab them to solve it this time, but she backed off upon remembering that the cubes must belong to Mac’s so she retract her outstretched hand back with an embarrassed blush. But Mac surprised Helen when he kindly handed them back to her, nodding at her that she should solve them since it’s been a long time for him upon playing with a Rubik’s cube. He didn’t want to embarrass himself if his puzzle-solving skills might have gotten a little rusty, despite that he’s a super-genius with Math, Science, and Engineering, etc.Helen smiled, still blushing but with appreciation like Mac commends her talents and skills, and these two didn’t notice the sly knowing looks from Jack, Bozer, and Riley upon finally figuring out the secret ‘glances’ between the two, and Diana had her eyes narrowed with suspicion like she’s not liking whatever is going on between her partner and this guy Mac. Director Luna and Matty already signed themselves off from the comms on the screens, leaving their agents to their secret ‘off-the-books’ op since both women knew that Mac wanted to do this upon finding his father and finally bringing him home.It didn’t take long for Helen to quickly solve the puzzles, once she analyzed the mixed-up letters and figured out the anagram inside her head before she physically twisted and turned the cubes into the right order of words that the clues are giving.“My…dear son…Mac,” Helen mumbled as she carefully solved the first Rubik’s cube puzzle. After she spelled out ‘MAC’ as the last word after ‘MY DEAR SON’ on the other sides and then finished on the last side corner of the cube, the middle letter of Mac’s name clicked soundly from inside, opened a hole and then popped out a tiny rolled up paper.Helen handed the paper over to Mac for him to see it while she solved the second cube puzzle, that spelled out ‘SEEK AND FIND’ and it did the same as the other one, clicking and opening a hole from within and popping out another tiny rolled up paper which she gently pulled it out and unrolled it to see what’s written into it or something.“Well? What did they say?!” Riley asked anxiously, almost looking excited that they’ll be going in some sort of ‘treasure hunt’ in this kind of secret op they’re now involved into with the two magical agents, even though that the treasure is actually a person, which is Mac’s dad, that she’s also eager to finally meet.“Okay, this is a bit…odd,” Helen said as she registered what’s written in her small paper when she unrolled it and lies it flat.Diana narrowed her eyes even more with suspicion. “Is that a good ‘odd’ --or a bad ‘odd’?” she asked demanding.“Odd as in weird odd,” Helen said as she showed her partner what’s in hers. “In this one--the ‘SEEK AND FIND’ cube, it just has the words that just states ‘FIND THE FAIRY’ here.”Mac replied, showing his to the others. “Mine is ‘WATCH CHRYSALIS’. And I don’t know what it means and why it’s written like that.”“Are they some kind of code clues or they’re riddles?” Bozer asked. “Cause I’m not so good with riddles if that’s the case.”“Maybe I could input those words into the Internet and check to see if they mean something or anything else,” Riley offered as she instantly typed into her computer rig, searching in all databases of the real meaning in those two strange statements on the two paper clues.Diana and Jack were the only ones not giving their opinions or being helpful upon trying to figure out the meanings from those two clues that they’ve uncovered from the Rubik’s cubes. Jack grinned slightly upon noticing that Helen decided to keep one of the Rubik’s cube to herself, like she wanted to make another one just like it to keep whatever little secrets she has and put it inside so that she’ll have fun on solving it with whatever puzzles she’ll create into the lettered sides.And then Jack finally noticed that the woman he’s interested in, Diana looking thoughtful like she thinks she knows what the two phrases on the clues meant but it’s got her frowning darkly like there’s something ominous or very bad about them, which he’s sure that he’s not going to like it once Diana finally shares her idea to the others.Once Riley found no results in her hacking search and told them about it, Diana instantly voiced out her opinion before the others might turn disappointed upon hitting another dead end from the clues. “Everyone…I might be grasping at straws here--or so the Americans say it as such--but what if the clues were talking about people? Not as codes or riddles or possibly word-play of sorts…but they’re saying that we should find people with those particular code-names. Such as maybe there’s someone called ‘Fairy’ or ‘Chrysalis’…it’s worth a try to looking into it, if that were the case.”Helen froze like she instantly knows someone with the strange code-name ‘Fairy’ but not so much as Mac and the others are when they are familiar of one particular person who was code-named ‘Chrysalis’.“Aw hell no!” Jack suddenly exclaimed, making Helen and Diana look at him confused while they’re trying to figure out who they might know has the code-name ‘Chrysalis’ but then their attention was turned to him and the others when Jack voiced out complaining and then the two women noticed from their expressions that they somehow know someone that has that particular code-name.“You know Chrysalis?” Helen asked at Mac.Mac sighed and frowned, “Unfortunately.”“Hmm…judging by your expressions--I’m guessing this wasn’t a very good person?” Diana inquired calmly with one of her brows cocked upwards.Riley snorted and said in a dry comment, “You don’t know the half of it!”Then Riley took over into telling them about Chrysalis--who was formerly their old boss Patricia Thornton back in Phoenix Foundation long ago--how she was discovered to be an enemy mole, attempting to trade secrets to the enemies but failed to do so, thanks to Mac and them. Diana nodded approvingly that the old enemy mole has been caught, just as Riley finished the tale upon Matty taking over as their new boss as Director, and Helen immediately contacted Luna and Matty to appraise them of the sudden shocking developments they found from the clues.OOOOO
DURING SAME TIME AND DAY AS DARK PHOENIX IS STILL FLYING IN THE AIR, BACK AT PHOENIX HOMEBASE IN LA, CALIFORNIA
Needless to say, Luna was very displeased upon finding out that Matty’s old replacement was somehow involved in this and Matty was excited and eager to go with Luna upon interrogating her to finding out what’s her involvement into Mac’s father and how she fit into this on his disappearance and everything. Jack was also eager to watch how the interrogation goes when they go there, and he asked, almost begging, at the two Directors to have them watch when they go to the black-site prison and meet with Patricia Thornton imprisoned there for her crimes as a mole and espionage traitor.It wasn’t until a swift few minutes later, as they waited anticipating in the jet-plane that is still hours away flying towards America, for Luna and Matty to arrive on the prison and then they activated the video comms for them to see that they’re now in the isolation room where Patricia Thornton is already brought there for them. Even though Patricia Thornton was still donning the ‘Ice Queen’ persona that the others have known before (which Diana is a little offended when her partner Helen commented on the slight similarities between them upon noticing this), and despite that Matty was being intimidating at her so that she wouldn’t dare lie to them or something, the former Phoenix Director and traitor woman suddenly surprised them out of the blue, when Luna calmly asked her what she knows about James MacGyver, Mac’s father and what’s her involvement with him, and then she instantly sang like a canary like she’s now facing her worst nightmare--or rather her worst enemy.It didn’t take long for Patricia to speak clearly besides the sudden inane vigorous gibberish she’s speaking so frantically and panicked like that with pure terror on her face, then Matty snap her out of it by slamming a hand soundly on the table between them and Patricia finally calmed down to tell them with pure fear on her very being that they must not find James MacGyver at all costs, surprising them more with her vehement serious statement as she said this.When Luna asked her calmly again on the reasons why for that, Patricia looked around the isolated room like she looked like she thinks she’s being watched before she whispered hastily to them that someone came by to visit her when she got here into this prison site and they interrogated her as well to know her involvement or demanding the whereabouts of Mac’s father. But she told them nothing since she only knows that Mac’s father disappeared and that was all. It seems that she looked sincere and honest when she admitted that she didn’t know that James MacGyver used to work in Phoenix secretly until he disappeared after he left his family years ago. Luna and Matty exchanged silent looks, both agreeing she’s telling the truth and then Luna asked Thornton if she knows who were the people that visited her and demanded her about Mac’s father.When Thornton was about to speak in answer to Luna’s question, she suddenly froze like she’s been struck by something, followed by sudden convulsions and her mouth was instantly foaming and her body collapsed forwards on the table as she seized horribly right before their shocked eyes. Matty instantly reacted and called the guards, shouting for medical assist hurriedly, but by the time the medics have arrived seconds later, it was already too late. Patricia Thornton, the ‘Chrysalis’ enemy mole has died from unknown poison inflicted upon her, right there on the room with the silent Luna and Matty there.OOOOO
BACK TO THE TEAM IN THE DARK PHOENIX JET PLANE, STILL FLYING UP HIGH IN THE AIR MIDWAY…BUT THEIR FLIGHT COURSE REMAINS THE SAME ROUTE--OR NOT…?

Then Luna turned to face the comms on her and abruptly told them in secret code, which they’re not familiar with but only Helen and Diana recognizes it when they instantly tensed as Luna told them calmly. [Nimue has tricked and betrayed Emrys. Go forth to Avalon. Find the Grail and bring it home safe and sound.]With that, the video comms instantly went dark and the connection has been cut from them and the Directors back in home-base, making the others instantly confused on what just happened, except the grim-looking two magical women, Helen and Diana.“Okay…did that just happen what I think just happened?!” Bozer exclaimed, looking very unnerved upon witnessing their old boss Thornton’s death right before their eyes, even just through the monitor screens. “I thought Thornton was supposed to serve her sentence for life!”“She was…but obviously, someone got to her before she was about to talk and confess to us on who the people were that demanded at her to know where Mac’s old man was,” Jack said gravely like he knew instantly the gravity of this grim situation they’re now in.“Whatever the project my dad was on…these guys are very serious to the extent on trying to find him and force him to come back and finish it, killing anyone who stands in their way or even mentions about it,” Mac said as he seemed to have deduced the reason and endgame of this very scary situation they’re getting themselves into, but he’s not giving up since he knows that his father is still out there, hiding somewhere, and that he’s in real grave danger right about now.Mac turned to Helen and Diana, also figuring out that these two know what Director Luna meant from her strange statement before the comms cut off in the end back at home base. He asked them, “I suppose you’ll tell us what Luna meant when she said those words before?”Helen quickly replied before Diana could stop her. “It’s a secret magic code. Sort of the same how you guys warn each other whenever your ops have been compromised or something goes wrong in an op or the likes similar to that. The character Nimue means that Luna thinks that the ‘Higher-ups’ or a corrupted dirty agent in Phoenix are responsible for Thornton’s poisoning. Emrys is obviously our agency, the Phoenix--meaning we got another traitor mole or enemy from the inside or something far worse than that--which means our secret home base is no longer safe for us to go back to until both our Directors do something about it. Avalon is code for another secret safe house location that only Diana and I know of it, which we can hold up as temporary base that is very safe and secure until we finish our objective. And finally the Grail--is your dad. So she sighed and calmly said, ignoring Helen’s knowing grin towards her. “Yes, we can use the resources here in this plane once we touched down for refueling, which I’m sure Helen will be the one dealing with that, and then taking over to flying this jet plane to wherever we need to go, now that we’re free to do this op secretly without our Phoenix ‘Higher-ups’ knowing what we’re actually doing. That also means that we can also use the resources that are in the safe-house too once we get there.”After she said that, she immediately gave Jack Dalton a warning pointed glare like he should not go overboard into using any kind of magic gadgets or weapons that are in the jet-plane or in the safe-house, that were packed up and ready for all of them there to use.Mac said, “Okay, so the next thing we need to know and deal with is…the clues. I’m guessing that the first one ‘WATCH CHRYSALIS’ meant that my dad somehow knew about the mole and that he knew about the enemies within will be visiting her and then kill her to keep her silence about them, and that meant he wanted us to know about them once we found out the clue and learn what it meant. So…the important question to know the answer of now--is what ‘FIND THE FAIRY’ clue means.”“I’m guessing from the gist of it, after the first one, is that your old man is telling you that there’s someone out there with the weird code-name ‘Fairy’ and that this guy will be able to help us to find where exactly your dad is and help lead us to that exact location,” Jack said, having his rare moments of smart and intelligent deduction.Riley quickly typed into her computer rig as she said, “I’ll search and look into all databases of every known felon or hidden ordinary people that has that code-name.”“Don’t bother with that, Agent Riley. I already figured out and know who the ‘Fairy’ is,” Helen said as she had returned from going to the pilot and telling him that their flight route has been changed and lied that they need to touch down for refueling at any nearby airport station they’re flying into at the moment now.The others were surprised and confused when they turned to look at her and Helen is wearing a very grave expression on her face like she knows something about the ‘Fairy’ person more than she hates to admit, and judging from that look on her face, it spells nothing good at all.“But you guys are not going to like it…I know only one person in the world, who’s the one called and code-named ‘Fairy’, and the only one who could be able to find Mac’s father, if the message said accurately right. And we need to find her first before the enemies find out about it and hire her to do the job before us!” Helen said in a very grave tone too besides her facial expression that turned darker and more foreboding, making the others a little surprised and puzzled on why she’s acting like this.The others were very confused on what Helen has said in such strange statements like that. However, in a split-second, Diana instantly knew in a flash on who Helen is talking about upon figuring it out and realizing it too.“Ohh no! The Dark Phoenix jet plane landed into a private airport station and the pilot was paid and ‘bribed’ well by Agent Diana upon telling him that he can take a vacation or go home after turning over his pilot duties over to Agent Helen, who will be doing it from then on and it’s a good thing for them since she’s a certified pilot as well as being a former Air Force flyer-fighter.Then both the Phoenix teams of Mundane and Magical quickly rented a black SUV car to blend in and not be noticed as they drive around the city to do their objective into finding the female assassin called ‘Le Fae’ from the clue specifically pointing out right at her as the ‘Fairy’ who can help them find Mac’s father James MacGyver. First, they went to sign in under cover identities into a secretive kind of hotel, who the workers there are all discreet and will keep quiet of their clients that go in and out and temporarily staying at any amount of time, provided they pay very well to the employees there for their services and silence.At first, Mac and his teammates thought that the hotel they’ll be living temporarily into, is of the Magical kind, but Helen and Diana confessed once they sign in and gotten into the luxurious comfortable rooms they’ve been led to, that the Magical agents always sign and contract into the Mundane places as their secret hideouts or temporary living spaces whenever they’re in ops or wherever else they go, to blend in among the normal Mundane society so that they won’t notice anything different or strange about it. The Magicals hide their magic while they’re staying or being inside Mundane places and buildings whenever and wherever it happens. However, they do enchant or magically charm the places from the inside, to defend and protect themselves against any curious onlookers or lurking enemies around and about.Mac and Jack were happy to watch as Helen and Diana carefully used their magic to cast Runes and charms to secure the rooms they’re staying in the Mundane hotel, as well as magic wards that will alarm or alert them of any lurker that comes near their vicinity or something. Bozer was also happy upon pulling out and sorting the kind of spy gadgets and weapons they’ll be using, both Mundane and Magical, in one of the bedrooms that has no windows so that there won’t be any curious witnesses or somebody else looking in through there, as it is sometimes common for peeping toms or nosy neighbors across buildings in the city of New York itself that can happen. As for Riley, she’s busy hacking into the entire network of security cameras, traffic cameras, even the streetlight, housing, and building cameras to look for ‘Le Fae’ or in whatever alias this female killer might be on, besides her real name as Natalia Romanov, the info given from Agent Helen and Diana.Granted, there was not much info Helen and Diana could give Riley besides a picture of the woman, her real name, and code-name. When Riley looked into and search for facial recognition as well as finding any aliases that the female assassin used so that they’ll find her, she regretted doing that because there were many results of the woman in various looks and disguises, as well as too many alias names that appeared on the screen of her computer rig, that she almost thought her personal device is about to explode from the sudden overload of information that resulted into showing for the hacker.Diana and Helen had just finished enchanting the fortified security measures into their hotel rooms and suite and warding everything and Helen pitied poor Riley upon noticing her sudden problems so she went over to help her before her poor personal computer rig suffers from the information overload and then breaks down. Before Riley could stop her, Helen just placed an unfamiliar device right under her rig to link it in and give the Mundane computer rig some kind of update or upgrade, then Riley stared in awe and wonder when Helen’s device instantly transformed her rig into a highly advanced magic-type laptop computer which Riley can use much more efficiently and better when it comes to hacking into the Mundane and the Magical databases and information all around the world and everything.Helen explained as best as she could that the Magicals have found a way into incorporating Magic very well with the Mundane electronics and technology sometime about three or four years ago, but Riley was too excited to use her newly modified magic-turned laptop and started typing into it quickly to install whatever new updates are inputted into her rig and use them for better use than what other agents did. Helen smiled upon seeing her new teammate and possibly another new friend Riley having a fun time in her life with her upgraded computer and she left her alone so that she can concentrate and focus into finding ‘Le Fae’ the elusive notorious assassin.While they wait, Helen decided to cook for them instead of ordering room service in the hotel and Diana wasn’t surprised not much as the others were when Helen did quick and good work into making a nutritious delicious dinner spread for them as their meals as the time passes onto night now. Diana kindly placed a full plate next to Riley since she’s still not finished searching for the elusive killer they’re looking for somewhere in New York and she’s very focused on her job to do it. The others gathered around the table eating their dinner and then they gave appreciative remarks and praises to their cook, which got Helen blushing brightly as her partner Diana slightly grinned amused upon seeing this.“Ohh man…I never tasted a meal like this since my Mama’s home cooking. Whoo! That was really good!” Bozer commented while patting his slightly bloated stomach like he ate more than two rounds from the dinner cooked and set up by Helen.“I second that! Hoo-whee! This dinner was the best meal ever! And it’s almost the same like back in Texas when there was a free homemade buffet served when I went home there about a year ago,” Jack said.Mac nodded and smiled at her, “I agree with Bozer and Jack. The food was truly amazing. Diana knows very well that the others view her as the ‘mother-hen’ of the group--no thanks to her partner Helen’s antics because of her adrenaline-seeking acts and all that, which has been giving her more heart attacks and gray hairs to her poor beautiful golden-blonde hair that she’d rather not admit--as she turned towards Riley and was about to ask her opinion on how she liked Helen’s cooking, when Riley suddenly gave out a triumphant shout, startling the others into jumping in their seats and all turned to her with surprise from the sudden outburst.“Yes! Found her!” Riley yelled, pumping and throwing a fist up in the air.“Huh? Found who?” Jack asked, looking a bit stupefied at Riley like this is the first time for him to see her react that way.Helen and Diana instantly knew what Riley is yelling and shouting about and instantly straightened to attention and focused on her just as Riley said, “I found the Fairy--I mean, Le Fae! My facial recognition software--or FRIAR as I call it, along with Helen’s magic upgrade--showed me that the hit woman is at some seedy dark club called ‘Fiery Desires’, downtown in the backside neighborhood by the streets in Manhattan.”“Is it one time or--?” Diana instantly demanded.Riley shook her head in negative. “From what I caught upon hacking the street and security cams, it looks like Le Fae has been frequently going into that dark club, either for drinking leisure or pleasure--or maybe casing out the joint for some contracted hit which her target might be there too. According to the time records, she’s been going in and out for whole nights more than a week now.”Helen said, inputting more of the info about the female assassin. “Le Fae is also known to be a very patient kind of killer. The longer her frequent visits are--shows the importance of the said-target she’s aiming at. And that basically means the contract hit might have a lot of money being put for the target’s death.”Riley instantly hacked into the database on who was the ‘target’ that Helen specified the female killer will be gunning to kill for, and it didn’t take long for the female hacker to find the right and exact person that matched Helen’s theoretical description and such. It turned out to be one of the New York city’s mafia bosses that rules over the Manhattan boroughs specifically, and it looks like his fellow friends AKA the other crime bosses have decided that he had lived long enough as well as outlived his usefulness and contracted a hit for him so that another one would take over his place in his district crime organization or something. When Riley showed them the results and the contract hit’s contents of Le Fae’s target, both Bozer and Jack exclaimed out loud upon seeing the major reward of the price on the contract and Mac wasn’t a bit surprised upon seeing this since he could deduce easily that the female assassin would take that contract hit as she is one of the top professional killers, second to Murdoc or something.Unfortunately for Mac and his Mundane teammates, they don’t know the horrifying the truth about the female killer ‘Le Fae’, except Helen and Diana, who are the only ones who know who this woman truly is, and much as they looked like they didn’t want to tell them, they’d rather do it anyway so that they won’t be unprepared in the necessary event upon finding and retrieving this deadly person. The two women gets all their attention towards them and then tell them the truth of what is known deeply about the female hit woman and assassin, and also how they know her and got entangled into facing against her and so on. Finally, they shared the shocking truth more about Natalia’s personal life and her kind of relationships she’s with, and Helen gestured Riley if it’s alright for her to borrow the computer rig to show them and Riley nodded, handing it over to her.Helen did quick work into typing and showing the picture of Natalia’s real face and image without any disguise on her and she also added the other two images of who Natalia is partnered with or having relations to, much to the others’ surprise upon hearing about this, since it’s mostly common that hit killers and assassins work alone. Diana warned them again that this female assassin ‘Le Fae’ is very different than the rest in a very complicated twist that they would not expect. And it didn’t take long for their questions and confusion to be answered when Helen already put them up and then showed them all.The team all gasped with their mouths gaping open in shock and their eyes almost popping out wide in stunned horror upon seeing and realizing why Helen and Diana are so anxious and afraid of this mysterious hit-woman as well as being known as a lethal killer when they saw who is also related with this person--in a sickly disgusting romantic kind of relationship way.As it turns out, much to their horrified shock and stunned dismay…Natalia ‘Le Fae’ Romanov--is actually the biological mother of a specific child--and also married to the very man they’re all familiar with.“You got to be kidding me--Murdoc!?” Jack exclaimed out loud, almost shouting as he waved his hands gesturing wildly incredulous at the other person’s image when it showed on the screen beside Natalia’s. “This crazy bitch is married to that psycho hit-man Nut-bar?!”Mac also exclaimed incredulously, wide-eyed staring at the pictures, “And she’s Cassian’s mother!?”Diana said dryly, “Like I said--a bloody complicated sickly-twisted kind of story!”“And here I thought that I’ve seen and heard everything but--this is seriously insane and ridiculous!” Riley exclaimed as she looked torn between feeling shocked, disgusted or feeling pity for the poor kid upon finding out that he has loving and caring parents during the day and also two secret psycho assassins during the night--in a literal sense or way.“Wait a minute--if what you’re telling and showing us are all true…how come we didn’t entangle or confront this woman when we got hunted by Murdoc or we were hunting and chasing for him and his kid back then?” Bozer asked the latter question that didn’t come up into the others’ minds until he voiced it out loud for them.“Murdoc and Le Fae take turns into staying with their son and looking after him while the other gets busy with their other ‘job’. And needless to say…she’s not very happy with us hunting her ever since we got into her case--especially when it comes to Helen here,” Diana replied bluntly and said the last latter sentence in a sarcastic tone with a pointed look to her partner obviously.Helen just gave a sheepish look and shrugged casually like she’s not fazed at all that there’s some kind of grudge between her and the female assassin Le Fae, even though the female magical agent has no clue on how it had gotten to that point or what she did to earn the enemy killer’s ire towards her. We already caught Murdoc and his son a while ago back then--specifically about three months ago, in fact!” Helen confessed and Mac and the others all turned and stared at her and Diana in surprising shock once again.“You what!? Since when?!” Jack exclaimed incredulously, staring at the female magical agents in shock and wondering on how they managed to do that.Diana rolled her eyes and answered for Helen. “Since you and Mac botched it and messed up your mission when that psychopathic killer maniac escaped from you people again and gotten his son and himself to disappear, going off the grid. Director Luna let us take over the op and it was easy enough for both of us to find Murdoc, subdue and capture him, and bring him back to the prison ‘dark-hole’ black site where he belongs, as well as putting his son Cassian back in protective custody.”“Damn!” Bozer whistled impressed. “No wonder you two are the Best of the best here! Luna wasn’t kidding when she told us that.”Diana puffed up like a proud peacock as Helen blushed a little embarrassed under the praise. Riley sighed with relief as she remarked, “Okay, so now that Murdoc is out of the picture--I guess it’s only this woman ‘Le Fae’ we have to deal with now, huh?”Helen sighed, “Much as I hate asking for her help once we bring her in…the clue from Mac’s father did point out that she’s the only one who might be able to help us look for him and find out where he actually is exactly. So--I guess there’s no other way and that we don’t have any other choice or option right now.”She shuddered visibly as she added in saying with a foreboding tone, “Ohh boy--if you thought Murdoc was worse when you were dealing with him…Le Fae is much worse than her husband, since I’m sure that she’s going to be very pissed off when she finds out that we have her husband and her son in custody and all that.”Diana scoffed with a slight huff in agreement with Helen’s statement, and then she glared icily at Mac as if she’s blaming him for this. “I don’t know how your father found out about that crazy bint--but if we end up dead in trying to capture and subdue her just for her help…then at least I know who to haunt from my grave first, when it comes to that.”“Diana!” Helen cried at her shocked that she just said this so coldly upon blaming him without cause and knows very well that it’s not Mac’s fault about his long-lost father.“I’m just saying and I’m sure you know that it’s true,” Diana points out bluntly.“Are you sure…you two are really partners?” Riley asked uncertainly, not seeing how these two women get along with different opinions and such.Both Helen and Diana responded in unison, “We worked it out really good together.”“Somehow…I don’t see it,” Mac couldn’t help but comment on that, considering how eerily similar these two women act, just like how his partnership with Jack Dalton with their own differences.Helen just smiled, not offended by his remark but Diana took that as an insult personally as she glared at him again with a steely dagger-like sharp gaze, that almost got Mac flinching and cowering a bit away from her. Jack would have also flinched and winced too under the scary kind of glare the blonde woman is giving his nerdy partner but he decided to divert the attention before the poor kid suffers more of the ‘Ice Queen’ blonde woman’s ire before it gets any worse or something. He successfully diverted their attention upon making up plans on how to stake out and capture the female assassin at that club she’s been going into for her target and it was easy to make it up as they can go with Helen and Diana’s knowledge about the killer woman, that it looks like their capture plan will turn out to be easy in a quick snap for this to be done and dealt with.But they should have known better that it’s easier said than done--or so the phrase goes.OOOOO

It was the next night later that passed by and Mac and his team, along with Agent Helen and Diana are already set up and getting themselves ready to face against the threat they’re going to confront with, that is the female assassin known as ‘Le Fae’. And even though Jack didn’t like it that he’s been left out from infiltrating into the night club called ‘Fiery Desires’, Diana had him by the ear--literally--when she told him that the both of them will be staying back on guard while Mac and Helen will be the ones going in and searching for the female killer until they’re called for back-up in case they need it or not. And it’s like the blonde female magical agent can instantly read the mundane man’s mind like he’s interested to see what kind of ‘desires’ are inside that night club, even though it’s one of the dark seedy and shady types than the normal ones, much to Helen and Mac’s inner amusement upon figuring it out.Despite that Riley and Bozer also agree with Jack, even though they already know of his ulterior silly motives, while the two stayed back in the hotel, looking after them upon being the main comms center of sorts, they decided to also trust on Helen and Diana since they’re confident that they can handle this without any problems or difficulties into subduing the assassin. But they didn’t know that Helen was the only one who’s confident and Diana held back her doubts inside herself so that the others wouldn’t be concerned or worried if they had seen or known how the blonde witch truly felt of her own worries for them, just so this won’t turn into a bust if they failed into capturing their target--albeit this one’s very lethal and deadly.It didn’t take long for Mac and Helen to go inside, dressing and disguising themselves like they’re a couple on a date, and Jack is smirking secretly upon seeing his buddy Mac blushing like crazy with Helen looping her arm around his when they went inside the night club very easily. What in Merlin’s name happened?!” Diana demanded as she and Jack ran and try to push through the crowd of people that broke out running out of the night club to get to the doors and inside through but their way is blocked heavily too much because of the panicking crowd running around like headless chickens.Inside in that dark-kind of night club, it looks like Mac and Helen’s supposed ‘date night’ just went from calm--into the worst kind of storm when the minute that they caught sight of their target Natalia Romanov AKA ‘Le Fae’, the scary-type of female killer and the one who is Murdoc’s ‘soul-mate’ of icky sorts, she also somehow spotted them just from one glance instantly, and it was a split-second that they realized that they were already caught, judging from the sudden ominous and dangerous look on her face as they saw it quickly changed from party-face to deadly killer’s face. COME OUT AND FACE ME LIKE A REAL WOMAN THAT YOU SUPPOSEDLY ARE, YOU LITTLE BLACK WITCH!” Natalia screamed madly in an insane cackle as she cocked and shot the shotgun weapon in her hands without stopping or even reloading.“--she’s madly crazy at Helen to kill her with that bazooka-like shotgun that woman somehow got it into the club!” Mac finished as he and Helen finally managed to find a place to duck and hide for cover there but it won’t last for long since Natalia seemed to somehow sense where they would be and is stalking towards them creepily.[Just what the hell did you do to piss her off like that!?]Jack exclaimed incredulously through the comms while sounding like he and Diana are moving fast to get to Mac and Helen, still trying to push through the thick crowd while shouting at them to get out of their way.“On a Richter scale from 1-10 of angering a psycho female killer--!” Helen said instead of answering him as she instantly ducked down more and covered her head with her arms when another shotgun blast shoots and breaks something on top of them before she continued replying in soft frantic whispers. “I’d say this is a 13 point zero plus, majorly big time!”Diana snorted and said sarcastically knowing. [You think?]“That doesn’t answer Jack’s question, even though I’m also wondering the same!” Mac said to Helen as he also ducked another shotgun blast that exploded or broke something on top of his head, bending down even more. Despite that Helen and Mac are not visible from their hiding spot, Natalia seemed to know exactly where they are or something since she kept shooting the shotgun right at their direction. And to their spine-chilling heart-stopping scary moments, they can hear the ominous sounds of her high-heeled stiletto shoes clicking on the floor and coming near towards their hiding spot. Helen whispered softly to Mac, “I don’t suppose you have an idea on how to get ourselves out of this mess!?”Mac would have shook his head in a firm negative, as he doesn’t want to admit it, but then he stopped himself in time from nodding his head to answer her, when his eyes immediately caught sight of the various bottles, glasses and stuff upon realizing that they just hid themselves behind a liquor bar counter, and his mind instantly went back to the memories about how he dealt with Murdoc when he broke into his home and nearly killed his best friend Bozer back then before. His eyes brightened and then quickly instructed Helen on what to do. Even though he noticed that Helen seemed hesitant that Mac’s idea might work, it’s better than to wait and sit down like sitting ducks and get themselves shot at once Natalia hones right into their position.They made quick work but when Mac decided to boldly come out and bravely face the assassin head-on, to show off for his crush, he didn’t realize nor did he expect that the hit woman Natalia is also a magic-wielder just like Helen and Diana.When the rocket bottle shot from his make-shift blaster and was heading straight towards her, Natalia just cocked a blank look and calmly waved her hand to make the bottle stop in mid-air, inches near her head. By the time Mac was rendered stunned speechless upon seeing this, he ducked down to his hiding spot again when Natalia grinned maniacally at his direction and twisted the bottle rocket around to fly and hit right where his head supposed to be but it smashed and broke to pieces when it hits the wall above Mac and Helen’s heads.“Why didn’t you tell me that she’s also a magic-wielder like you guys?!” Mac demanded at her.“She’s not! Well--not fully magical--she can only do a little magic!” Helen protested back at him.“Little?!”BANG! CRASH! BANG! CRASH!Both Mac and Helen thought their lives were about to be over when the shotgun blasting are getting closer and closer right to their hiding spot, but then they slumped with relief when their two partners came in just in time to rescue them with loud shouts and yells, and Natalia was forced to turn her attention at them, shooting at Diana and Jack’s direction as they also duck and cover, but they’re armed and ready as they returned fire at the crazy female assassin.“Hey, Helen! MAC! You guys still alive!?” Jack shouted behind his hiding spot as he and Diana fired at Natalia to distract her from firing at his partner and the other girl.“Yeah! We’re still okay!” Mac yelled back.“But not for long though!” Helen also cried out loud as she flinched when Natalia alternated from firing at their hiding spot to Jack and Diana’s place. “She’s really bloody mad at me at this point!”Natalia snarled aloud with a crazy smile on her face. “Oh, you don’t know the HALF of it!”“Shut it, you crazy bint!” Diana snapped at her angrily when she saw that the assassin is not even phased that she’s being fired at and also outgunned.“Ohh come now, Diana!” Natalia mocked at her as she returned fire with her shotgun, still shooting non-stop and doesn’t seem to be worried at all upon running out of bullets and needed to reload. “You should know very well that I hold very deep grudges--especially when it comes to your annoying little partner Helen! I owe that little Black witch for what she did to me the last time we tangled one another back then!”Mac whispered to Helen, looking at her a little curiously, “Do I even want to know what happened the last time you got her that angry at you?”Helen just silently shook her head in a negative back at him, showing that this is not the time and place to talk about it right now, before she carefully peeked over the counter-top to see if the crazy ‘Le Fae’ killer Natalia has finally ran out of bullets or not. Much to her dismay, Helen can see that Natalia is determined to not stopping with her firing of her shotgun weapon, since she’s using her own active small bits of magic that’s in her, to automatically reload the gun with bullets and keep on shooting.She glanced around, trying to see if there’s anything else that can be useful against Natalia to stop her as well as capturing her, and it didn’t take long for her to spot something, but it looks like it’s going to be very tricky and risky to do so, in order to stop the crazy female killer and somehow subdue her. A few seconds or so of non-stop shooting and gun-firing against each other, Helen decided to do it, even though she knows that it is truly crazy enough to do such a thing that she’s thinking of.Mac hissed at Helen, asking her what she’s doing when she slowly moved on all fours to crawl over and grab something, and she managed to scurry back upon getting what she spotted and needed. Mac saw that Helen grabbed some kind of transparent fake-crystal ball and she whispered to it, instantly enchanting it to do something and once she did that, she turned to Mac and hissed at him firmly, “When I say go--I’ll throw this charmed ball right at Natalia and have her chase me once I got her furious enough to come after me! You--need to get to Diana and Jack once I got her distracted.”“Wait, Helen--that’s not--!” Mac protested, instantly disagreeing with this idea but Helen is giving him no chance to argue as she cried out shouting. “GO!”Helen threw the enchanted glass ball expertly right at Natalia’s direction, and before the assassin noticed it and was about to take aim and shoot first before it hits her, but she didn’t realize that the ball has been magicked as it instantly exploded into a flashing blinding light, causing her to cry out with surprise and then fury. Somehow, Diana had anticipated Helen’s actions and quickly pulled Dalton down so that they won’t get blinded by the exploding flash bomb too.“Hey, Natty-Nutbar! You want a piece of me!? Come and get me, you wanker!” Helen taunted as she stood up from her hiding place and went running to another direction which seemed to be the exit.Natalia didn’t realize that Mac was left alone behind the counter as she was too blinded with anger upon Helen’s flash bomb and her mocking taunts at her as she cocked her shotgun at the ready, even though it’s been magically reloaded with bullets by her own mana.“Now, you’re starting to get on my bloody nerves!” she snarled dangerously as she followed after where Helen just left.Before the others could regain their bearings and try to stop her, the female assassin has already gone to the same direction where Helen ran through to the exit outside the club from the back of the building. Once Natalia was gone, Mac instantly stood up from the hiding place and was about to run after them to help Helen from the crazed killer but Jack stopped him upon grabbing onto his arm when Diana and him got out of their cover spot. Mac told Jack to let him go as he told them that Helen is in danger and needs to rescue her, and even though Diana agrees with Mac to relent on letting him go to save her partner, Jack thought otherwise upon believing that Natalia is too dangerous to deal with that they need a plan first.But Mac didn’t listen to his partner as he forcibly removed the grip on him and ran fast to catch up with the women before he lost them. When he went outside through the back door of the night club, it didn’t take long for him to find out where they are now upon hearing the continued tell-tale sounds of gunshots coming from another dark alley and there were faint yells and screaming over there. So far, he could tell that Helen is avoiding other human casualties from the assassin’s line of fire as she’s distracting the crazy killer by having Natalia focus on her only, but he knew that it will be a matter of time before the killer Le Fae decided that enough is enough and will end Helen’s life sooner than later. So he need to think of something quickly to save Helen before she gets herself killed and then lose the person they believed that she’s the only one from the clue who’ll be able to find Mac’s dad.That’s when Mac caught sight of thrown-out broken medical pads as well as electric paddle-types from speakers upon glancing towards the garbage bins and dumpsters by the dark corner of the building’s back, and he instantly got an idea, quickly went to grab them from the trash dumpster and then recycle, fix, and modify them into a homemade MacGyver device he’s starting to make and build, to rescue Helen from the terrifying hit woman. Once he finished fixing and working on the device he made, he swiftly ran towards the direction where he heard the sounds and noises of Helen and Natalia were from, and he hoped internally in his mind that he’ll make it on time and it’s not too late yet.Mac skidded to a stop upon turning another corner and saw them, somehow managing not to draw any attention onto himself by the killer, but Natalia is fortunately distracted upon cornering Helen right to a dead end and they’re facing off each other with Helen standing with hands up helplessly and Natalia is aiming her shotgun right at Helen’s face but didn’t shoot because she seemed to like to prolong the terror the female assassin is savoring from the other girl, she’s going to kill. Mac carefully sneaked behind the hit woman as silent as he can, readying the device in his hands to swiftly get Natalia and bring her down.It was also fortunate that Helen noticed Mac and instantly realized and knew what he’s going to do so she put up the pretense and fake acting that she’s giving up, trying to make Natalia focus her attention only on her so that she won’t notice her silent attacker approaching from behind.“Hey! Can’t I just--say my last words or something?” Helen instantly protested in meek begging and trying to not sound like she’s trying to stop or stall Natalia before she was about to pull the trigger.Natalia tilt her head to the side a little like she’s considering for a minute or two, before she smirked inhumanely, making Helen shiver a bit from her scary expression.She said in an eerie voice, “Alright then. Go on.”“Clear!” Helen just said brightly with a knowing smile.Natalia instantly blink in confusion at that weird last word or strange statement. “What?”“CLEAR!” Mac yelled from behind, startling her.Natalia was caught off-guard and taken by surprise when Mac sneaked up silently right behind her without her knowing and he struck fiercely, with the handmade electric-tasers of the shock pads he just fixed and modified, by placing them near the sides of her head and then shocked her straight to unconsciousness, and she fell over and down to the ground with slight convulsions and seizures upon being suddenly electrocuted. Once the assassin was taken down, Mac instantly turned off the shock-taser pads before he might also electrocute himself from the spraying static that’s sparking out from them. Then he immediately kicked the dropped shotgun hard into a far distance away from the killer’s reach, just in case the woman might somehow get up and grab for it to shoot them again.When there’s no movement from the crazy female assassin that’s now lying down shocked and unconscious, both Helen and Mac sighed with relief as the young witch lowered her hands down and went over to Mac to pull him into a hug like she really needed it, surprising the young man by the unexpected gesture.“Sorry, I’m a hugger and…I really needed that, cause for a moment--I thought my life was about to flash before my eyes, right before I was going to get shot, but then I saw you so…” Helen muttered mumbling against Mac’s shoulder as she wrapped her arms a little tighter in her embracing him. Then Mac relaxed from his nervous tension and awkwardly patted her back, trying to give her comfort as she shivered slightly from the slight shock of her supposed impending death from the insane female assassin.“It’s okay. We got her. You’re safe now, it’s okay,” Mac soothed her with soft reassuring words that he could manage, even though it’s been a long time since he had a girlfriend, that was Nikki long ago.“Ahem! Are you two done--or are we interrupting something?” Diana’s voice instantly broke their tender moment in a sharp sarcastic tone, sounding like she’s not very pleased with the kind of scene that she and Jack just stumbled into upon chasing after Mac.Helen and Mac instantly jumped apart from one another upon hearing Diana’s icy sharpness and then they blushed brightly when Jack complained at the blonde woman. “Oh come on! Why did you have to do that?! They were having their moment!”Diana ignored him, glaring at Mac coldly still like she’s telling him silently to keep his distance from her partner, even though she had seen that it was Helen who hugged him first in that slightly affectionate gesture. Then she knelt next to the unconscious female killer Natalia, making sure that she’s really down and knocked out by whatever weapon they used to take her down easily.It didn’t take long for Diana to realize what Mac has done to the crazy insane female killer hit-woman upon looking around and then catching sight of Mac’s improvised shocker-pads. She looked back and forth from the fallen unconscious woman to Mac. And then she exclaimed out loud in wonder and shock. “Did you…did you just taser her with modified electrical paddle-pads?!”Jack whistled impressed, instantly figuring out what Mac did and grinned wide proudly at his partner. “Damn! I didn’t think you had it in you, buddy!”Mac protested, “She was crazily obsessed into killing Helen! I couldn’t let her die on my watch, so I thought fast and made these!”“Whoo-boy! If I thought Murdoc was crazy when he was obsessed with you, Mac…I didn’t think his wife is even crazier than I’ve seen from that psycho Nut-bar, until I saw her hell-bent shooting on your girl!” Jack commented wryly.“It’s not--!”“We’re not--!”Mac and Helen instantly protested in unison, still blushing on their faces abashedly with denial, even though their attraction with one another is so obvious to all of them except the two themselves.Diana rolled her eyes upon seeing this and then whistled lightly to get all their attention onto her and she gestured her head nodding down at the still unconscious killer woman lying on the ground. “How about we focus on tying up this crazy bint and bringing her back to the hotel alright?” she said calmly.Jack took out zip-ties that he had a habit on bringing them along in case they track and take down criminals, such as this one they’re bringing in right now, but Diana stopped him for a moment from tying Natalia up as she used her magic to enforce the sturdy zip-ties to be unbreakable as well as indestructible so that when the assassin wakes up, she won’t have a chance to use whatever magic energy or mana she has left on her to break them and try to escape. After tying up her hands behind her back and feet, Diana and Helen gently float her with magic, instead of lifting the woman physically, so that it would be easy to transport her back to their car, since there are no other witnesses around and they won’t have difficulties on carrying her, despite the lightness of Natalia’s weight.Jack was the one who called back to Riley and Bozer that they have successfully retrieved the ‘package’ as Helen and Diana put Natalia inside the car, right into the back of the trunk, as they all didn’t feel safe to have her riding with them in the front or back seats in case she wakes up and tries something to hurt them all during the drive back to the hotel. Jack also told the two staying at the hotel, in his exaggerated version, about what happened and why they took so long since they couldn’t grasp or get any of it from the chaotic noises they heard from the comms and there were no cameras to see what happened when Riley tried to hack into the club and found, much to her surprise and frustration, that there weren’t any inside or outside there.Needless to say, both Riley and Bozer were very much stunned shocked upon hearing about Natalia’s crazy obsession into killing Helen, just like how Murdoc acted towards Mac, and of course, Bozer had to ask in their comm-link, sounding very anxious and scared about it. [Are you sure it’s a good idea to bring her in?]“Don’t worry about it, Bozer!” Helen comforted him upon hearing his anxiety and nervousness over it and quickly said to him for reassurance. “Diana and I reinforced the ties on Ms. Natalia with magic to make them indestructible as well as nullify her own magic, just so she won’t break free of them and escape or choose to kill us when she has the chance.”Riley said dryly in the comms and also frowning worriedly beside Bozer. [That does not comfort me at all. Especially knowing that the assassin we’re bringing in--is the evil magical kind.]This time Diana added in the reassurance as she said, “You can relax, Ms. Davis. Le Fae won’t try anything, not unless she truly wants to live for another day, once she wakes up and finds my gun staring right at her face.”[Hey! I thought I told you that you can call me Riley?]Diana held back her grin as she sighed. “Sorry, it’s a force of habit.”There was a sound ‘ding’ coming from somebody’s cell-phone and it turned out to be Helen’s when they all checked theirs and she found a secret encoded text message from her. Helen opened it and her eyes brightened upon seeing it. “Guys! I just got word from Director Luna and Matty. So far, they’re both fine but they’re still looking for the enemy mole or traitor that’s hiding within Phoenix. They just wanted to give us an update on their status so that we won’t worry about them if we’re wanting to contact them back. Also--Luna added in that the ‘Avalon’ safe house is still waiting there for us and no one else knows about it as well as nothing has been compromised still.”“I’m guessing that means we need to pack up, leave the hotel and go there immediately?” Mac inquired knowingly. When Helen nodded at him in confirmation, Mac looked at Jack with a silent look from riding shotgun by the driver’s seat at the car and he nodded back in understanding as he told Riley and Bozer to get their stuff packed up again and be ready to be picked up upon driving to the hotel by passing over there without stopping for anything. Both Riley and Bozer confirmed that they will and then Helen and Diana also told them that they don’t have to worry about the charmed and enchanted wards they placed over there, for they’ll wear off once the temporary occupants leave the hotel permanently.By the time Jack drove to the entrance driveway of the hotel, Riley and Bozer were already there with their bags and stuff packed up and waiting ready for them and the two of them instantly got into the car, putting their things into the back and sat beside Helen and Diana at the back seat of the SUV vehicle. Then Jack drove down, following the directions Helen is telling him on where he needs to go, to the safe house that’s called or code-named as ‘Avalon’, which is here somewhere in New York city.When they reached their destination throughout the rest of the time of that late night, it was near sunrise in the morning of another new day, and needless to say, the others are pretty much shocked upon seeing and finding out what the ‘Avalon’ safe house actually looked like. And Jack Dalton obviously didn’t mince on his words as he exclaimed out loud on realizing where they are now and it’s the very spot where they’ll be staying.“A prison? Seriously!? This is our safe house?!” he cried out incredulously.Diana said calmly, “What do you expect? A five-star luxurious hotel? We did tell you that all magicals had to be conspicuous and discreet when it comes to our security and secrecy of our existence. We also use prisons as such, since most normal people wouldn’t think that we would stay in these kinds of places to hold up or stay in for whatever limit of time.”“Well…this wasn’t the kind of safe house that I was expecting!” Bozer commented.“Sorry to disappoint,” Diana bluntly said in a dry sarcastic way, that got Bozer flushing and stammering that he didn’t mean it while Helen held back her amused giggles to herself.Riley and Mac turned their heads to look back when they heard faint thumps coming from the back trunk of the SUV and then Riley remarked, “Ohh boy…I’m guessing that’s the ‘Le Fae’ killer woman waking up now?”“Hmm…I guess you didn’t shock her enough, Mac. That--or maybe she’s got a high pain tolerance for something like that,” Helen mused to herself.Mac looked at Helen a little surprised upon hearing her say that. “How do you know that?”Helen blushed upon realizing that she somehow spoke out loud for him to hear and ducked her head down, making Mac think that her statement might have something to do with this ‘grudge’ that Natalia has against Helen for some unknown reason like when she tried to kill her back at the night club. But Mac will have to ask about that later when they have the free time to do so as they all get out of the car once Jack parked the SUV vehicle and then carefully get to the back, facing the closed lid with a little trepidation and nervousness. They exchanged uncertain looks to one another on who’s going to open it but Diana was the only one who scoffed at their anxieties and then moved first to open it, bravely facing whatever hit Natalia is going to strike at her.Once Diana opened the back door lid upwards, she nearly dodged a full-on kick from Natalia’s tied-up feet and then swiftly took her gun out and aimed it right at Natalia’s face, making her freeze instantly upon registering it.“You move even one more bloody inch…and it will be the very last one you’ll ever make, you blighter!” Diana warned at the assassin in a serious deadly tone of voice.Her dangerous threat somehow made the assassin known as ‘Le Fae’ compliant and docile but they can see that she’s still defiant at them when they see her glaring dangerously at them like she’s promising death for them in the future. But Diana wasn’t phased by her killer glare as she roughly grabbed her by the arms to get her to sit up while still holding her gun aimed and poised right at her face before moving slightly to the side for Helen to remove the tight zip-ties on her feet so that she can walk. After Helen did that, Diana just gestured with her gun for Natalia to move by herself and go first and the female assassin gingerly test her feet and legs for a moment before she started walking, being pushed and shoved by Diana as they all went towards the ‘prison’ building.They’re all heading towards the back of the prison, which the others are following behind Diana and Helen as they’re leading the way, and it seems some of the prison ‘guards’ there have expected their arrival and coming.OOOOO
A PRIVATE PRISON FACILITY, DEEP IN THE DARK BOWELS SOMEWHERE IN NEW YORK CITY…AND SURPRISINGLY, IT’S ALSO ONE OF THE ‘AVALON’ SAFE HOUSES…
There was a familiar buzzing sound and the few numbers of secret ‘guards’ --who are in the know about Magic or they are Magicals in disguise--let Diana, Helen, and the others inside the prison, leading them to where their living spaces are, which the section of the prison wings is much more different and secretive from the rest, and that particular wing-place is not known among the Mundane guards, the prisoners in it, including anyone who are not ‘in-the-know’.Diana is still holding the tied-up Natalia by gunpoint, which surprisingly, the blonde witch-agent was allowed to bring her weapon in as they were led by some of the secret guards upon guiding them to where they will be residing comfortably and safely from the outside world, despite that they’re inside a prison, much to their uncertainty and disgruntlement. It didn’t take long for them to get there, and they were a little surprised at how homey and cozy their living spaces are when the guards lead them to where they will be staying and living in, slightly in a comfortable and luxurious way.Helen nodded to the guards, thanking them and the guards left them alone to resume their prison guard duties so that the other ‘normal’ ones wouldn’t notice something strange or unusual going on in their prison, despite that they’re safe and secure because the prison warden boss himself--is also a Magical in disguise and owns the prison facility himself to ensure the secrecy and guard over the ‘secret’ part of the prison that no one else knows about it ever.“I don’t suppose I happen to have a space of my own, as well?” Natalia finally asked in a calm blank tone, speaking for the first time and almost surprising the others when she did, as they thought that she was going to keep her silence for a long while or something.“Shut it, you bint!” Diana snapped at her, while gesturing with her gun to make her move near to a slender type of wall post by the corner so that she can cuff her around to it.“I think you mean ‘bitch’ in American terms,” Natalia said, her voice almost thick in its natural unique accent of European kinds. “Honestly, I think you’re starting to lose your touch with the insults, Agent Cross.”Natalia was about to sneer and smirk at her mockingly but then she tensed and frowned more when Diana cocked her gun soundly, instantly revealing that the gun’s safety has been off the whole time and she’s ready to shoot at her instantly without hesitation. “Keep talking like that--and I’ll show you how I haven’t lost my touch on shooting people like you in the face point-blank straight,” she said seriously while adding in a very threatening warning. “And believe me when I say this…I won’t miss on purpose the last time!”There was a tense silence between them, including the others watching at this with slightly stunned looks on their faces, before Natalia continued to move silently to follow Diana’s orders into standing next to the wall post where she will be chained and cuffed around it.“Damn…remind me to make a side-note to never make her mad!” Bozer whispered in awe and wonder to Mac.Mac nodded agreeing with Bozer as he’s also impressed with how easily Diana had threatened the scary female assassin ‘Le Fae’ to docile compliance and pleasant submission.Helen helped Diana to tying and chaining her very tightly against the wall post, making sure that there’s no noticeable knots or ties that the assassin can break herself free of and escape, while Diana keeps holding Natalia by gunpoint and eyes narrowed at her sharply like a hawk eyeing another predator. After Helen had finished that, it seems that she’s letting their prisoner have some courtesy or something as she asked Natalia kindly if she needs anything else. Natalia seemed to be satisfied that at least one of them is being nice for her but before she could open her lips and speak again to answer Helen’s request, it was instantly shot down by Diana who coldly told her partner that Natalia’s needs will be dealt with later after they settle in first.Helen sighed at Diana’s icy rudeness over her distrust against Natalia, even though she also knows very well that she’s a killer but she’s gentle and nice enough to treat criminals like they’re real human beings, and she’s counting this woman as such, whether Diana likes it or not. Helen gave a secret glance towards Natalia that she’ll be getting whatever necessities she needs later and Natalia nodded dimly in gratitude for her kindness upon seeing and instantly understanding her gaze upon her.It didn’t take long for them to get settled in on their quarters inside the secret wing of the prison, and after that they all left for lunch onto another secret area in that prison place, where they serve food for the residents and guards are living and staying there, and the only ones left behind were Helen and Natalia, as the magical agent told Diana that she’ll be staying to watch out and look after the female killer. At first, Diana didn’t want to leave her partner behind with a crazy psychotic killer who might be able to escape from her bonds, but Helen persuaded her enough to make her leave and she did, much to her relief as she left them alone.Despite that there’s a kitchen area in their quarters, as well as Helen being a very good cook, she had to make a simple meal for Natalia, that are egg and ham sandwiches, bottles of juice and water, and brought them for the female assassin, instantly removing her cuffs from being locked against the wall post so that she can eat, and it looks like Helen foolishly trusted her enough to not keep an eye on her without backup or even a weapon on her, like she knows Natalia better than anyone else does.Surprisingly, it seems that Natalia just went from homicidal crazy killing maniac to a nice pleasant woman as she rubbed her freed wrists to stave off the numbness she’s feeling from being cuffed a long time and then sat down onto an empty chair and gratefully took a sandwich and water bottle that Helen kindly brought for her. She even spoke in a nice gentle tone, which is a complete 180 from her insane scary personality like before. “Thanks…I was beginning to think that you were going to leave me standing there locked up by that post for almost half a day.”Helen winced, “Ah, sorry about that. You should know that Diana still holds a grudge against you--the way you continue on with your obsession upon the part of you keep trying to kill me just like before, and that’s counting this time now.”Natalia snorted as she swallowed a bite of her sandwich and took a big drink from her water bottle. She said after eating and drinking, “It’s not my fault that you’re the one who started it in the first place. I still haven’t forgiven you for what you did to me from that bloody last time we tangled with one another.”“Seriously!? You’re still holding on to that over me?!” Helen asked incredulously, both her and Natalia talking and chatting to one another like they have some unique kind of friendship--in a strangely very weird way between an agent and an assassin.“Like I would ever forget that,” Natalia said calmly firm, just like that.“What in the hell is this?!” a male’s voice instantly demanded, interrupting their ‘girl-talk’ moment.Both women jumped and turned to face the person who stayed behind with them, and obviously it was Mac, as he is also worried for Helen to be left behind with the psychotically insane female assassin, but it looks like his concerns were unwarranted when he saw, much to his stunned shock, that the two girls are talking to one another like they’re close friends of the sorts.“Ohh bollocks! Mac, I can explain--!” Helen cried, trying to speak while not sounding like she’s making up excuses.“Oooh…as the Americans would say it--busted!” Natalia teased the other girl, like she somehow knew about Helen’s crush with the young man MacGyver.“Seriously?! Not helping!” Helen whispered hissing at Natalia.“Since when were you two--like this!?” Mac asked indignantly, hating the fact that he and the others, possibly including Helen’s partner, Diana had no idea that this was secretly going on between them.“This doesn’t mean we’re actually friends! We’re just--!” Helen protested.“What your new girlfriend is trying to say is that we’re just acquaintances with a slight mutual understanding to one another,” Natalia intervened, giving her input as well as grinning amused over this scene between the couple in front of her.“Excuse you?! I’m not--!”“She’s not my--! You--stay out of this!”Both Helen and Mac replied in unison as the two of them blushed at the woman’s unexpected statement upon her thinking that Helen and Mac are having a romantic relationship with one another, when clearly it hasn’t happened at that stage yet, despite that Natalia knew otherwise with a knowing sly smile on her face. Helen sighed and was about to tell Mac what’s really going on but then her head snapped around upon hearing approaching noises towards their quarters, which she knew instantly that it’s the others returning so she pulled Mac closer to leaning down as she whispered hastily for only him to hear. “Look, I’ll explain later on why I’m being friendly with Natalia--I mean, Le Fae. But please trust me on this, okay!? She’s not really a bad person once you get to know her.”Helen and Mac glanced to the doors upon hearing the sounds of their teammates getting nearer and almost very closer as Mac hissed back at her, “She tried to kill you!”“There were reasonable circumstances concerning about that but--now’s not the time! Help me get her back to the wall post, hurry!”Mac groaned, “Fine…but I expect answers and the real truth, okay? I know very well that it’s her I have to depend on to find my dad.”Mac and Helen quickly moved Natalia back to the wall post and lock her up with the cuffs after she finished eating her small sandwich snacks and drank her fill from the water bottle. They made it on time just as the others came in, returning from having their lunch, and none of them noticed any difference or unusual things that happened before when Helen was alone with the female assassin Le Fae, much to Diana’s keen observation and then relief. It was also fortunate that they didn’t notice anything strange about Mac skipping out from lunch when he only ate half of his meal and returned to the quarters first upon worrying over Helen being alone with her, and they could see that everything seemed fine, even though they didn’t notice the awkward tension hidden between Mac and Helen.It didn’t take long that the day time passing by and nearing sundown now for the incoming night, and Diana finally relented into letting Natalia off her cuffs from the wall post and have her moved to another spot where she’ll be most comfortable. Natalia had to use the bathroom first when she whispered to Helen, requesting for it and Helen let her but with Diana following them to continue watching the assassin with sharp eyes, making sure that she doesn’t try anything funny.After taking care of Natalia’s hygienic needs and getting herself cleaned up nicely but still in the same kind of black dress she’s been wearing from the night back at the club before and Natalia insisted that she won’t wear anything else, but doesn’t mind changing her underwear into new ones. After that, Diana led the assassin to be cuffed right into a chair where she can stay there and be comfortable, despite that her partner Helen look at her exasperatedly like Natalia didn’t need to be cuffed and locked up all the time since it looks like she’s behaving nicely pleasant and being good, but Diana isn’t taking any chances and letting her guard down when it comes to this psychotic killer woman.Natalia glared at Diana like she’s still displeased that she’s being treated like this when she got handcuffed into the comfy chair she’s sitting on, but she smiled appreciatively in thanks when Helen had been kind and gentle to her for her needs or whatever she requests for. Mac still doesn’t like the way his crush is being friendly and nice towards a dangerous criminal like her, but he decided to trust her word for it when she gives her explanation later to him on the reason why Helen is being polite towards the killer ‘Le Fae’. Luckily, the chair Natalia is sitting on is also strongly bolted to the floor so that she wouldn’t try anything with her usual tricks or using what magic she can use by herself to break herself free from her bonds and somehow escape. And it wouldn’t be possible for her to do so since she’s being watched by many eyes from the people that are with her in that room now, all regarding the female assassin with wariness and caution, fully alert and on-guard against her.Despite that Natalia wasn’t all fazed by the pointed threatening glares, coming from Diana Cross and Jack Dalton specifically, the female assassin known as ‘Le Fae’ seemed eerily calm and pleasant when the others noticed this but Helen was the only one who knew better that it’s actually one of the facades she’s wearing to intimidate anybody that dares to cross with her, only this time she’s on her good behavior because Natalia is internally wondering curiously on why they bothered to capture her and bring her to the ‘safe house’ prison and not have her transported into a real one for the major crimes she has done as a notorious killer.It didn’t take long for them to be nervous and anxious when there was no word yet from their bosses back at home-base HQ in Phoenix Foundation, and they’re starting to get a little worried whether they should try calling back for them but then the others became suddenly surprised--except Helen and Diana, who somehow knew that this was coming--when an unexpected voice spoke out of nowhere, startling them all, including Natalia--who only jumped a little on her seat.“Well, I’m flattered that you are all worried about us, but Matty and I are just fine,” Luna suddenly said from behind them.Matty added in speaking, sounding impressed and proud of them. “And it seems we came in just in time to see you guys have succeeded into capturing and subduing one of the most notorious assassins in history.”Jack instantly exclaimed comically with surprise upon hearing their voices, and they all turned around and looked at their two Director bosses with shock upon seeing them there, appearing out of nowhere suddenly and surprising them that they’re here in New York with them.“Whoa! Where the hell did you guys come from?!” Jack demanded shocked, staring weirdly at his bosses like they have the power to teleport--in which he forgot that the Magicals have the ability to do so in rare cases or sometimes, and Luna is one of them who can.Matty frowned disapprovingly at Jack and scolded him sternly. “Language, Agent Dalton.”He winced upon realizing what he said and instantly apologized. “Sorry, ma’am.”Luna would have giggled amused over this but she didn’t as she donned a blank expressionless look on her face when she faced the female assassin Natalia ‘Le Fae’ Romanov calmly, like she’s not truly afraid of her even with the reputation she’s already heard and known about her.“Comfy, Ms. Romanov?” Luna asked after a silent stare down between her and Natalia for a minute or so.Natalia huffed and showed her cuffed wrists, chained against the chair she’s sitting on. “As you can see--I’m pretty much displeased with my current situation right now. What do you think?” she said dryly sarcastic.“Well, sorry about that, missy. But we don’t trust you to try anything, even if you’re being all nice and good over there in your seat,” Matty said, also sounding sarcastic like she’s mocking the female killer.Natalia cocked a brow upon looking at her blankly for a moment before she sneered, “And you have to be the other Director called Matilda Webber or ‘Matty’, am I correct?”Matty just glared at her, not liking how Natalia worded her name familiarly like they’re friends or something. Natalia continued, “My husband talked about you from his first escape. You actually dared to take away his special copy of ‘Paradise Lost’? You know you’re still on the top of his hit-list for that, hm?”“Save your petty warnings or threats, Ms. Romanov. I’m sure you know by now that my people didn’t just bring you here to put you into prison where you truly belong,” Luna intoned calmly, her eyes showing an eerie wisdom like she knows something about Natalia much deeper than she thinks no one never truly knows about her.“Yes, I’m quite curious about that once I figured out instantly that your agents here didn’t place me behind bars right up to now. So what is this all about? Why am I really here?” Natalia asked, now sounding polite and curious, her persona changing from psychotic to normal politeness so quickly, that some of the others couldn’t catch it fast enough to figure out which one is her real and true identity from this female assassin.Helen decided to speak out what they wanted from her in a serious tone of voice. “We need your help. And you’re the only one who could be able to do it and help us with it.”Natalia was even more surprised by this request, though she knew that nothing comes free without a price or something. She cocked a brow and asked calmly, “And if I agree to help you…what do I get out of it, hm?”There was a tense silence like the others all knew what Natalia really wanted. But it looks like Luna is prepared for this as she told the others to leave the room alone except for her, Matty, Natalia, and also Mac and Helen who volunteered to stay behind. Jack would have protested against this as well as demand to stay behind too but he was pulled outside of the room by the ear from Diana herself as the others all left them alone in that room by themselves so that they’ll negotiate a firm and fair deal with the infamous assassin ‘Le Fae’ before them.Natalia was calm and composed on her seat while being cuffed on it tightly, and her eyes showed some curiosity and interest in them, wanting to know what Luna or Matty is going to offer the kind of deal for her to accept into helping them.It didn’t take long for whatever deal it is to show Natalia that Luna is serious with it, as she nodded again at someone who’s waiting outside the doors of the room and Natalia turned to look with interest on who’s coming in with them.Natalia blinked a bit confused and then surprised, and finally she beamed brightly when she saw Murdoc being brought in through the door, escorted by two burly prison guards, showing that this was the very prison he’s been in when he got caught again by Agent Helen and Diana.“Creampuff!” she cried with a delighted gasp.Surprisingly, Murdoc reacted the same way, his face smiling widely creepy with delight as he returned the endearing gesture. He cried back. “Honeypot! Oh how I missed you!”When Natalia leap up from her seat and was about to run to him, she was instantly held back with a hard yank from the chains she’s still handcuffed against the bolted chair, as well as Murdoc, who was held back by the guards holding him firmly by the shoulders and arms.[Creampuff? Honeypot? YUCK! Oh, I’m gonna barf--seriously!] Jack commented from the other side of the room outside, through the ear-comms that they’re still on, standing guard and waiting for his team members that are inside with these two psychos.Natalia deftly glared straight at Luna and Matty like she’s zeroing in on the two women as her top targets to kill and then she raised her cuffed wrists when she put a little slack on the chains and said meaningfully pointed. “Do you mind?”Matty was about to retort that the cuffs stay on but Luna looked down to her and shook her head in a negative, making her glare back in protest. However, after a few seconds of stand-off staring, Matty relented in defeat when Luna just glared back calmly and silently before she ordered the two guards to release Murdoc but the cuffs stay on his wrists, and then at Helen to release Natalia from the cuffs chained to the bolted chair.After they did that, they kept their eyes on Natalia and Murdoc in case they try anything funny while they reunited with one another in their own passionate way. But Mac turned away swiftly so that he wouldn’t witness the disgusting sight of Murdoc spinning Natalia in his arms when he grabbed for her, despite the cuffs still on his wrists, flung his arms around to wrap them tight around her waist, and then locked her into a passionate kiss that seemed too brutal and harsh than normal standards as Natalia returned the gesture upon wrapping her arms around his neck and shoulders, embracing him tightly against her body.Bozer gagged and mock-vomited through the comms in Mac’s ear. [Ugh…I’m seriously gonna hurl!]Mac can easily tell and know that his friend and partner, Jack was also cringing at the sight and almost looking very green on the face and seeming like he’s really going to vomit right there and then behind the door he’s watching through the small glass window on it.Riley exclaimed next in the comm-link [I swear--once this is over and we’re done working with these two psychopathic maniacs…I’m seriously going to ask someone on how to bleach my entire mind to get this sickening image out of my head--so that I won’t be scarred for life!][Count me in on that!] Diana chimed in, sounding like she’s also cringing and shuddering with disgust through the comms. [This is bloody beyond disgusting--beyond any other level, seriously!]“Shall we get on with it then?” Luna intervened lightly calm, interrupting the two psycho-killers romantic reunion moment and both of them turned and glared at her for daring to stop that.Luna just stared back at them, not fazed at all by their deadly glares as she bravely faces them calmly. Natalia frowned when she saw that Murdoc and her aren’t intimidating the blonde woman beside the short one, so she sighed and said relenting slightly. “Fine. Let’s discuss the terms of this deal.”Natalia motioned her husband Murdoc to sit on the chair she was sitting on and he gratefully complied but he let himself sit down on the comfy chair and pulled his wife to sit right on his lap, his creepy smile showing that he truly missed his wife for a long while or so and wanted to feel her against him and on his body again, much to some of the other’s disgust upon seeing this kind of scene once more. Natalia also didn’t seem to mind this as she gently and carefully settled herself onto sitting on her husband’s lap and leaning against him. However, it seemed that Natalia whispered to Murdoc into not putting his arms over and around her again, so that she’ll be free to move away if she wants or needs to.Luna and Matty also take their seats, facing the couple before them while Helen and Mac stood by each of their bosses’ sides like they’re standing guard for them. Natalia and Murdoc didn’t seem to be phased that they’re being stared down by the two Phoenix Directors as well as being watched on-guard by the two agents sharply, when Natalia asked with a huff. “Well? What is it that you want from me to help you anyway?”Her compliance and acceptance seemed a little too good to be true as Luna looked at Natalia in a blank but wise look like she knows something deeper than what Natalia just stated and she calmly asked her. “Before we tell you…does this mean you accept--or is there something else you want to ‘discuss’ on these ‘terms’ of the deal that you said before?”Natalia just looked at her with a cocked brow and casually shrugged one shoulder. “Please--I can tell that all of you were desperate for my help over whatever this is that you want from me. I knew that having my husband here is only a part of the deal that will make me compliant and accept it. Nevertheless, I am quite curious on what it is you really want from me, so that’s the reason why I’m being nice right now.”None of the others believe her words or statements, even though most of them don’t know the assassin Le Fae very much, because there are certain people there who knew Natalia better than anyone else does and they’re not letting her get the best of them so that she could manipulate them into doing what she wanted.So Luna pulled all the stops here and made sure that Natalia realized on who’s really the boss here. “In that case, then I don’t have to tell you that if ever you renege on our deal upon helping us or you betraying us for that matter--I will have my special forces here deal with your son permanently?” she inquired calmly but with a scary tone in her voice, sounding like she’s serious with her promise on doing something very bad to the couple’s most precious treasure.Matty managed to hold back a gasp, but she inhaled a stunned deep breath at that as she, the others outside, Mac, and Helen are all shocked that Director Luna had just said this without hesitation. And Luna’s statement became the very wrong thing to say, because Mac and the others outside, now know that the hit woman Le Fae is much scarier than Murdoc when it comes to threatening or daring to endanger their son and only child, Cassian.Instantly, Natalia frowned, her face intensely dark and her eyes blazed like the fiery pits of hell itself, showing her angered displeasure at the sudden turnout of this conversation. Murdoc is also very angry at this as well, but not so much than his wife as she’s more furious than ever before, the way how one of her hands is gripping very tightly at the handle of the chair, her slightly sharp nails nearly ripping the cushions apart from her dangerous deadly-like grip.“You…would not dare!” she said in a dangerous warning tone like she’s daring Luna to not push her any further before she ends up into having a big RED target onto her back.Luna just tilt her head to the side and lightly said. “I’m just saying…it’s better for you to be all compliant and nicely good towards us. And if you help us in a very stellar way…then we’ll discuss more on the terms of this deal in the end once you finished helping us with this matter.”Natalia’s eyes narrowed at her as she demanded in a hissing tone. “And how can we get the guarantee that we’ll see our son again, safe and well, at the end of this arrangement?”“You don’t…but you should know very well that my people and I make promises that we can keep--whether good or bad. So…it’s your choice then,” Luna told Natalia in a firm tone that her statement is final and the female assassin’s decision will be the one that will put an end to the stand-off between them.Granted, none of them know what it is the kind of deal that Natalia and Luna are making since they didn’t voice out the terms of the deal and anything and they’re clueless about it, except Helen who seemed to be the only one who knew what it is as she’s somehow involved in it before. The two women stared each other down at a tense stalemate for almost a long moment until one of them breaks and the tension stops with either one making the final decision over this ominous atmosphere surrounding them.It was Natalia who finally broke it as she said, “Fine. But only on one condition…my husband goes with me on this all the way--and nothing more!”Tense silence again and then…“Very well then,” Luna smiled though it didn’t reach her eyes as she put a hand out for Natalia to shake. “It will be quite a pleasure working with you, Ms. Le Fae!” she said a little lightly.“Likewise,” Natalia didn’t seem to feel the light mood as Luna does when her eyes are still narrowed glaring at her but she reached out to shake hers anyway. Then she nodded pointedly towards Murdoc’s handcuffs. “Now--do you mind?”This time, Matty and Mac would have protested to have Murdoc loose, despite that they also didn’t like that he’ll be working alongside with them but Luna just glared at them sternly to accept this and then nodded silently to Helen to get the key from the guards and unlock Murdoc from his cuffs. They watched tensely as Murdoc was released from his cuffs by Helen and then Natalia wrapped her arms around his neck while he rubbed his numb wrists, and she whispered something in his ear to make him also behave and be good, so that they’ll fulfill this deal up to the very end, only doing this for their son Cassian.
