Work Text
This was a bad idea. The sun was already setting as he walked the familiar path home and he knew the roads would be turning dark and dangerous soon. He had a draining day at work (spending eight hours a day surrounded by overzealous kindergarteners can wear down even the strongest man) and the last thing he needed was to get involved in something that wasn’t his business. But Park Jimin had always been too moral for his own good. Hence why when he saw the group of rowdy teenagers attempting to destroy a motorcycle parked nearby, he decided to interfere against his better judgement. Now he was currently hiding behind a bush waiting for the right moment to confront the troublemakers. Taking a deep breath to gather his courage, he let out a loud scream as he ran straight towards the two boys- effectively scaring them into dropping their spray cans and fleeing the scene. Jimin couldn’t help but giggle at the speed at which the idiots escape- not believing his dumb plan worked. His grin was soon wiped off, however, when he noticed the state of the bike. A large dick- how mature- was scrawled on its body. Letting out a deep sigh, Jimin took off his sweater- thank God he decided to wear layers today- and got to work rubbing the spray paint off. “What the fuck are you doing?” Jimin had been so engrossed in his work that he didn’t even notice the stranger that had come up behind him. The deep voice startled him out of his concentration as he dropped his sweater, quickly turning to face its owner. There in front of him stood Kim Taehyung- and he internally berated himself for not connecting the dots earlier. The motorcycle was a KTM 790 Duke. Who else would own such a flashy model? The taller boy stood with his arms crossed, showing a glimpse of the intricate tattoos that trailed up his right arm and wrapped around his long neck. His dyed red hair was pushed back with a black bandana and a black leather jacket hugged his muscled torso. He was beautiful up close, face sculpted with sharp angles and smooth planes that any model would kill for. He had never met the man before, but he had heard enough about him and his gang of friends to know that they were trouble. They were notorious in the underground fighting scene- known for their undefeated winning streak and ruthlessness in and out of the ring. He wasn’t a big fan of the streets- violence was not his thing- but one of his hyungs owned the gym where the fights took place, so he knew all the stories. “I-it’s not what it looks like,” he cursed his shaky voice as he watched the other’s eyebrows lift in mild amusement. “It’s not?” “N-no. I was just walking home and I saw those idiots trying to take your bike and they had spray paint and what kind of person would I be to let such a beautiful bike be ruined by some assholes so I scared them away but then I realized they had already done some damage so I was just trying to wipe it clean with my sweater but now you caught me and I swear I wasn’t doing anything bad. I was just trying to do the right thin-” “Hey breathe. Relax I believe you.” “You do?” “Of course, I do. You look like you wouldn’t hurt a fly.” “Of course not. Animals have feelings too!” Taehyung let out a chuckle. “Cute,” he tilted his head and gave Jimin a slow once-over, making him squirm under his intense gaze. “I like your hair. The blue suits you.” “Thank you,” he muttered, averting his eyes as he felt his body flush at the compliment. He constantly dyed his hair bright colors because his kids loved it. He hadn’t expected the other man to comment on it. He heard another chuckle and felt him coming closer before something was pressed into his hands. It was the sweater he had long abandoned on the ground. He watched the man mount his bike before patting the space behind him. “Come on. Get on.” “W-what?” “You saved my girl. The least I could do is give you a ride.” “No, it’s okay. It’s fine. You don’t have to do that. I can walk- “ “You’re rambling again,” the other interrupted with a smirk. “Come on, I don’t bite. Not unless you want me to.” He weighed his options. Going with Taehyung meant he wouldn’t have to walk home in the quickly approaching night, and he would get a chance to finally ride a Duke. If the man was going to hurt him, he would’ve done it already. Before he could chicken out, he climbed in behind him. “Hold on tight little one. It’s going to be a wild ride.” If only Jimin knew just how true those words would be. Two weeks passed before he ran into Taehyung again. He was walking home later than usual, having stayed at the school long after classes had ended to grade projects and finish decorating his classroom for the upcoming Seollal holiday. The children had made paper lanterns and he had lost track of time hanging them up. By the time he finally finished, the sun had already retreated under the horizon. Now he walked quickly through the dark neighborhood, all too aware of the dangers that lurked in the night. Unfortunately, he didn’t walk quickly enough. “Well, well, well. Who do we have here? What an adorable little sissy.” Jimin gripped his bag tighter and forced himself to keep moving, ignoring the drunken words slung his way. But the intruder was persistent, grabbing his wrist as he tried to walk pass him. “Let me go.” He struggled to keep the fear out of his voice. “Don’t act like you don’t want it. I’ve seen you before, walking around here like you’re better than everyone else. You’re probably just a slut in need of a good fucking to get that stick out your ass,” the man sneered, tightening his grip. Panic started to rise in him. He had an iron hold on him, and Jimin was too tired from work to have the strength to shake him off. “Correct me if I’m wrong but I believe he said to let him go.” Relief flood through him at the familiar deep voice as he thanked the universe for its spectacular timing. “It’s none of your business Kim Taehyung,” the other spat out, finally releasing his arm to face the fighter. “It is when you’re messing with things that are mine,” Taehyung replied smoothly, wrapping an arm around Jimin’s waist as he pulled him to his chest. He tried to ignore the heat that spread through him as their bodies made contact. “I guess I was right. You really are a slut.” He felt Taehyung’s fist clench around him and quickly caressed the other’s large hands with his own to calm him down. “I suggest you watch what you say. I don’t take too kindly to people disrespecting my baby.” The boy’s voice was calm and deadly, a dangerous warning in every word. It was a complete 180 from the amused light one he had used with Jimin last time. He couldn’t help but think that it also sounded extremely hot. Deciding it was best to not test the other, the intoxicated asshole rolled his eyes and muttered a whatever before walking away. Once he disappeared, Jimin immediately relaxed as all the tension left him. He turned to face his savior. “Thank you.” “Are you okay? Did he hurt you?” The man’s large eyes scanned his body for damage, ignoring his thanks. “I’m fine,” he replied, giving the other a reassuring smile. “I’m used to it. Normally they just throw out insults, but I guess this one was feeling insistent today.” Taehyung’s eyes darken. “I can make him never bother you again.” “No! I don’t want him dead.” “How about a few broken bones?” “Taehyung!” “He has 24 ribs. Let me crack at least two.” “Tae no. Violence isn’t the answer,” Jimin insisted, shaking his head firmly. It was an ironic statement considering the other’s occupation. “Tae? Didn’t know we were already on a nickname basis,” the boxer smirked at him. He felt his cheeks turning red at his teasing. “You’re cute, little fairy.” “Fairy?” “It suits you. Fairies are tiny and pretty and pure. Like you.” He felt his blush rising again and tried to hide it behind a pout. At this rate he was going to be permanently red. “I’m not that small.” “See? Cute.” He wasn’t sure how to respond, so he decided it was best to change the subject. “I should probably go now. It’s getting late.” The other hummed in agreement but didn’t release his hold on him. “What were you doing out here anyways? It’s not safe to be walking alone at this time.” “I got caught up at work and didn’t realize how dark it was getting until it was too late.” “Come on, I’ll drop you home.” “You don’t have to. You’ve already done enough for me,” he protested weakly as the man pulled him towards his bike. “I’d feel better knowing you got there safely. Plus, it’ll be easier to rescue you if I’m already with you.” He should’ve known better than to try to argue. He had only met the other a few days ago, but it was already obvious that saying no to Taehyung was a difficult thing to do. They rode in silence, the passing wind a welcome comfort against his flushed skin. It wasn’t long before they were pulling up in front of his apartment. “Thanks again for the ride. And for saving me back there. I definitely owe you,” he said as he got off the bike. “It was no biggie. But if you’re offering, I do have one request,” the fighter replied with a mischievous grin. “What is it?” “One of my friends is hosting a party tomorrow and he’s forcing me to show face. Come and keep me company?” He told himself he only agreed because he had already finished his lesson plans for the rest of the week and didn’t have any other plans. But he knew it was a lie. A part of him was deeply intrigued by Kim Taehyung and didn’t want to pass up the opportunity to spend time with him. Going to one party wouldn’t hurt. He should’ve never agreed to this. He was not a party person and yet here he was in front of a huge house that seemed to shake with the volume of the music blasting inside. He fidgeted in the black ripped jeans and red plaid shirt Taehyung had forced him into earlier. “Maybe we should leave. It’s not too late to go back home,” he voiced to his companion. “Come on fairy. It’ll be fun,” Taehyung grabbed his hand, gently leading him inside the house. Jimin took a deep breath and tried to ignore the tingling sensation that was suddenly coursing through him. They entered a dimly lit room that was overcrowded with dancing bodies everywhere. The furniture had been moved to create a makeshift dance floor and there was a small bar area off to the side that was serving drinks. Taehyung led them there- the crowd parting instantly for the powerful fighter. Everyone here seemed to know him- both men and women yelling out eager greetings in hopes of getting his attention. To his credit, Taehyung didn’t pay them no mind, offering distant hellos and quick nods as he held him close until they got to their destination. He gestured for him to sit on one of the bar stools and he quickly obeyed. They were in the process of ordering drinks when a sudden voice made him jump. “Tae-hyung you made it!” Jimin turned to see a tall brunette rushing over to their area. He towered over both of them- muscles bulging under his black shirt. He thought the boy’s large doe eyes and bunny teeth was a sharp contradiction to his ripped image, but he didn’t care voice his thoughts out loud. The other looked like he could probably crush him with a bicep. “Of course, I did Jungkookie! I would never miss a party thrown by my beloved maknae, even if he is a persistent little shit who threatened to stab me in my sleep if I didn’t show up.” Jungkookie frowned and Jimin fought the urge to coo. “I have no idea know what you’re talking about hyung. I never-” He paused when he noticed Jimin sitting there. “Who’s the new guy?” “This is Jimin,” Tae introduced him with a wide smile. “He’s my friend. Jimin, this annoying kid is Jeon Jungkook.” “Friend huh. Didn’t know you were into pretty boys now.” “Jimin’s cool. I like him,” Tae stated as he wrapped a protective arm around Jimin’s shoulder- earning a blush from the other. “Whatever. Just don’t fuck this one in my room,” Jungkook replied with an eye roll, reaching over to take a sip of Taehyung’s drink. “That was one time and I told you I was too drunk to realize I was in the wrong room. You should thank me. Your room finally got some action,” Tae retorted as he snatched his glass back. “Fuck you.” “I’m flattered but you’re not really my type.” “I will beat your ass again Kim Taehyung.” “I’m so down for a rematch. The only reason you won last time was because your bitch ass cheated.” “I did not cheat asshole! How dare you question my integrity? Just accept the fact that I am stronger than you.” “I will do no such thing.” Jimin sipped his drink, unable to hide his smile at their playful banter. It was quite like his own arguments with his brother back home. “Both of you kindly shut the fuck up. I’m trying to get a drink here,” snarled a third unfamiliar voice and he nearly fell off his stool in surprise. What is up with these people constantly sneaking up on him without warning? The voice wasn’t as deep as Tae’s, but it was gravely and had a rough edge to it. Its owner was about the same height as Jimin, but he might as well have been seven feet tall with how intimidating he looked. His dyed white hair created a sharp contrast to the all-black ensemble he was wearing, and he knew without introduction that this was Min Yoongi. Rumor to be the leader of the crew, he was known as the coldest- and most successful- manager in the boxing field. “He started it,” Jungkook cried out, pointing an accusing finger at Taehyung. Jimin stifled a laugh at how adorable the younger boy was. “I did not!” Taehyung shot back, receiving a tired sigh from Yoongi. “I swear you guys act worse than fucking toddlers sometimes.” The words were harsh but the unmistakable fondness they were spoken with gave them no sting. “Hyung I’m surprised you stopped fucking Hoseok long enough to even come out tonight,” Taehyung replied with an evil grin. “He probably just came down to get some liquor so they can go back to sucking each other’s dick,” Jungkook added, earning a high five from Taehyung. “Yah! I’m right here you disrespectful brats.” A man that he assumed was Hoseok stepped out from behind Yoongi and Jimin had to blink at the stark difference between them. He had on a bright neon green bomber jacket paired with some white jeans and a white tee. The fit would look ridiculous on anyone else but somehow it made the other boy look like a superstar. Hoseok turned and he had to blink again at the bright smile suddenly aimed at him. “Hi there! Sorry for my boyfriend’s rudeness. I would say he’s usually better mannered, but I’d be lying. I’m Hoseok btw!” “I’m Jimin,” he replied hesitantly, a bit taken back by the other’s energetic personality.“You’re cute! Taehyung never brings a date to these things. He usually comes alone and leaves with a random pretty face. But I can see why you’ve caught his interest.” He could feel the blush already invading his face. “I’m not his date. We’re just friends.” “Friends huh,” Hoseok echoed, sounding suspiciously like Jungkook earlier as he sent a smirk in Tae’s direction. “Leave him alone Hobi,” Taehyung cut in with an eye roll, pulling Jimin closer to him. “I’m sorry for my friends. They can be a bit too much sometimes.” “They’re cool. Just… not what I expected.” “What did you expect? A bunch of mobsters and killers?” “Honestly? Yes.” Taehyung laughed and he found himself smiling at the contagious sound. “The night is still young. We might just live up to your expectations.” “Is that supposed to scare me?” “Maybe. Is it working? Are you afraid, fairy?” “N-no,” he replied quickly, shifting nervously under the fighter’s heavy stare. “Um... I need to use the bathroom.” The other man laughed again before pointing behind him. “It’s up the staircase. First door to your left.” He muttered a thanks before quickly making his escape, his breathing finally stabilizing the father away he got from the man’s disarming presence. Taehyung was certainly not what he had expected at all. Even though he knew the man wasn’t totally innocent (he was still a street fighter after all), he wasn’t as terrible as people made him out to be. He felt bad for letting public judgement influence his opinion of people he didn’t know. Sure, the boys were a bit rough around the edges- except for Hoseok, who was literally a ball of sunshine- but the way they interacted with each other was filled with care and an unspoken love between them. It reminded him of his own friendship with his hyungs. “Hey handsome.” He was so engrossed in his thoughts he hadn’t even noticed the random guy that had slid into his personal space as he made his way back to the party downstairs. “Haven’t seen you around before. A face like that would be hard to forget. What’s your name sweetie?” “Um…. I-I’m sorry. I’m not interested,” he stuttered, leaning away from the creep that was staring at him like he was a last supper. “Come on darling. Don’t be shy. Let me show you a good time,” the man’s smirk got wider as he moved closer, reaching out to trail a hand up Jimin’s arm. “What the fuck do you think you’re doing?” The guy was suddenly shoved away from him as an angry Taehyung appeared in his line of vision. They guy seemed unfazed as he straightened himself up. “Should’ve known this was one of yours Kim. You always did have good taste. I’m sure you won’t mind sharing when you’re done with him.” The red head let out a growl, balling his fist before stepping closer to the obnoxious jerk. “This one’s off-limits Lee. Touch him and I won’t hesitate to kill you.” Knowing the words might be more than just threats made Jimin quickly jump up to stand between the two guys. “It’s okay Tae. He’s not worth it,” he hugged Taehyung tightly, rubbing his hands up and down his back to calm him down. “Aww how cute. Kim’s got a soft thing for his whore,” came the taunting voice from behind them. He felt Tae struggle to move towards the Lee guy, but he tighten his hold, leaning up to nuzzle his face in his neck. He wasn’t sure what he was doing but he wasn’t about to let the other get into a fight just for him. “It’s okay,” he repeated before leaning up and pressing his lips against the other’s. The response was automatic, strong arms wrapping around his waist as the other pulled him closer. The kiss was hungry, their mouths molding together in a heated synchronization. He felt his back hit a wall and his fingers found their way to red locks, gripping the strands to tug his partner even closer. All the noise of the party faded around them until the only thing he could feel was TaehyungTaehyungTaehyung. His bottom lip was bitten harshly, and a naughty tongue slipped inside as soon as his mouth parted in a responding moan. He didn’t even try to fight for dominant, letting the other guide him through the passionate embrace. It was addicting, the way they moved against each other and he finally let all his inhibitions go as he gave in completely to the electrifying sensation that was kissing Kim Taehyung.
