Bakugou hit the ground; his body ached far too much to move as he looked around at the nearly decimated town. His hands twitched from nerve damage and quirk overuse as a sigh left his lips. Rugged breaths inhaled dust and smoke, but he was just glad that the other heroes were distracting the villain long enough for him to get a breath in. Honestly, it wasn’t as if the villain was a difficult one to fight, but Bakugou just couldn’t bring himself to feel any jazz about the fight. He was only in his late twenties, nearly thirty soon enough, but he felt so much older given what he had been through. After All Might’s end, crime rates hit a new high. Shigaraki inherited All For One from his former master and attempted to do the same thing that the villain did back in his prime. Of course, this time he had the regeneration quirk before hand, as well as Ragdoll’s Search quirk, and a few other deadly quirks that he kept for himself. Yuuei had its fair share of attacks, and lost quite a bit of its credibility, but, at the same time, its reputation skyrocketed. The first years that were able to fight off actual villains were launched into the real world. Several of them had provisional hero licenses and the internships became more frequent than they were in past years. Since Shigaraki had his sights set on a handful of the Class 1-A students, and soon after a few Class 1-B students, they needed to get the newer generation of heroes prepared and fast. But then it happened-It was about the time when Class 1-A and Class 1-B fought against each other, as Midoriya had finally mastered twenty percent of One For All, that All For One died. Something unforsaken and unseen happened: he returned to the quirk that he created. At first it was small things; Midoriya could not activate One For All with ill intent in his heart, or (All For One) would have more control over him. However, it slowly warped as his blasts became more powerful. It was difficult for him to handle One For All, ever.

Similarly to how when All Might continued to overuse his quirk, and shortened the time that he could hold his form as “All Might;” or when Midoriya kept overexerting his power during the early stages of being a user, how he broke his bones with the usage: the more the villains attacked, the more Midoriya had to rely on One For All. He was forced to fight against himself every time the power came into light, and it took a toll on him.Throughout second and third year, as well as the earlier stages of his hero life, he hid a pain that would be unbearable for anyone, yet he shouldered it with a smile. It wasn’t until third year that Bakugou reached out to him though, having enough of watching the boy tear himself apart. The look on Midoriya’s face was worth more than any job, more than any paycheck, and more bright than the stars in the sky combines.Smiling as he recalled reaching out to Midoriya, Bakugou winced outward, remembering the pain that he felt in the moment. Sounds of battle echoed in his ears, but the blood ringing in his ears attempted to drown them out, as if saying that he couldn’t go and fight because he was in so much pain. A bitter laugh left his lips as the hero also recalled every time Midoriya had continued to beat himself up just to uphold his personal ideals. But Midoriya wasn’t here anymore. That was why Bakugou looked solemnly at the ring on his finger. He could still feel the characters engraved on the band’s inside, “I'll love you forever, my hero, Kaachan,” and a smile flickered across his face. Forcing his body to move, the sounds of battle were much louder now. Getting back on his feet, Ground Zero raced forward to do exactly what he yelled at his husband for doing time over time.
Midoriya sat in class, furiously scribbling down the notes that were put on the board. His thoughts were uninterrupted until the bell for lunch sounded, nearly knocking the poor boy out of his desk chair. As usual, he fumbled to pack up his stuff, sending an appreciative glance to his friends that were waiting for him. Uraraka smiled brightly, looking down and laughing at how typically unprepared Midoriya always was. Iida, on the other had, praised him for being a diligent worker, as well as scolded the boy for always being so unorganized. He waved an apology before grabbing his lunch and following his friends to the cafeteria.
Bakugou charged forward, just barely managing to save one of his sidekicks with a blast. Of course, his presence on the battlefield striked two completely different ideals on his side of the team, but at least it meant that they would defeat the villain. “You’re in no shape to move, sir!” one of his sidekicks rushed to his side as he jumped back to dodge the powerful swing aimed at him.

“Shut the fuck up,” he smirked, “And focus on taking this bastard down,” charging forward to aid another one of the sidekicks that worked under him.

Thankfully, it didn’t take too much longer for the team to take down the villain completely. Bakugou’s hands burned as he launched a blast mid-air, propelling him towards the villain and allowing him to catch his opponent of guard, grabbing their head and slamming it to the ground. With the knock out, they had won and the authorities were finally able to tend to their injuries.Since Bakugou’s injuries were mostly just do to overuse of his quirk, there wasn’t much that the medical team could do other than let him go home and rest. He fell to the couch the moment Bakugou got into his house, exhaling heavily as he looked around at the walls longingly.

There were pictures of his UA days; the medals and various awards that he had won; but, what really caught his focus, were all of Midoriya’s things. Tears threatened to spill from his magma eyes that burned with the pain of loss. He almost let them roll down his cheeks as he dreaded the anniversary coming up; that was, until he heard a knock on the door.Kirishima stood, waving sheepishly as he read Bakugou’s face like a book, “Hey, bro, I know you probably don’t want to see me right now,” he obviously had somewhere that he was going, but Bakugou cut him off, “Then leave.”

He was choking back tears just standing there, and the redhead wasn’t helping at all by standing there. He wasn’t afraid of crying in front of Kirishima; he knew that the redhead would only feel worse if he did start. Then, Kirishima would feel bad because he couldn’t help his friend, and that wasn’t what either of them needed.

Regardless of that, the boy in front of Bakugou let out a sheepish laugh, “I knew you’d say that,” he mumbled under his breath as he looked down at some random spot on Bakugou’s floor, “But-” He brought his crimson eyes to meet the scarlet of his friend, “I have something that you might like.”

What Bakugou was definitely not expecting to see was a girl standing beside Kirishima. Clearly his friend wasn’t that stupid, right? Not only was he gay, it was almost the anniversary of his husband’s death- and Kirishima knew all of this. But he laughed: it was just a ‘ha;’ nothing elaborate. However, it was out of place in Bakugou’s mind.“Sorry, sorry, bro, the look on your face,” his smile wasn’t short lived, but, thankfully, his laughter was. “It’s her quirk,” the boy stood back to allow the girl to explain.

“My quirk is: Last Wish,” she almost declared, blinking as she nodded to Bakugou, “It allows any person I choose to get any one wish granted, um, it can’t be something perpetual-” she paused for a split second, averting her gaze in though, “Like ‘I wish for unending pancakes, or something. Uh, it can’t be paradoxical, like-”

Kirishima cut her off. “I think I already knows what he’s going to wish for, and it fits within your capabilities,” he met Bakugou’s eyes once more, although the man across from him averted them.

His voice visibly shook as he spoke, the tears threatening to fall were so heavy that he could feel them on his lower eyelid, “I want to see him one last time,” it was like a breath; a warm, heavy exhale that left his lips.

“Who?” she asked, of course, for clarification.

Bakugou choked on the name, almost preventing it from leaving his tongue, “Izuku Midoriya.”

The girl could feel the emotion in his words, “My quirk will only last two hours, and, once you leave, you can never return. Is that okay?” she wanted to make sure just in case.

“Even if it’s just for two hours and I can never go back again, I just want to see Izuku one last time,” he could barely contain the emotions welled up inside him.Sorrow.Adoration.Regret.“Step forward.”Longing.Remembrance.Love.Through the hazy feeling of walking through a cloud of his own emotions, Bakugou wiped his eyes and stepped forward. Time stopped as his foot hit the ground; he was no longer standing in the entryway of his house, and the eyes he was now looking into were the emerald orbs that he saw whenever he closed his eyes. Unable to stop his feet from moving, Bakugou lunged at the distracted boy in front of him as if that was his only way of staying alive.Wearing his Yuuei uniform proudly, Midoriya entered the class with a smile and a rose tint to his freckled cheeks. Bakugou figured that the young boy just got back from lunch, by logical reasoning. Going by the size of his frame and the definition of his features, he was most likely a first year. He walked in alone, but there were plenty of students already in the classroom.

None of that, however, meant anything as Bakugou wrapped his arms around the smaller boy’s frame; it meant nothing other than the fact that the stupid quirk worked. Bakugou let out a breath, a half sigh of relief as the tears pricking his eyes rolled down his cheeks. He felt the boy inhale a gasp of shock as he wrapped his arms around him. Bakugou stood back, sniffling and wiping one of his eyes, “I never thought I'd see you again.”Those words hit Midoriya hard: I never thought I'd see you again- that meant that he was dead. “W-wait,” he spoke hesitantly, completely contrasted to the bold way he reached up to wipe the other tear from the older Bakugou’s eye.

That was honestly it for Bakugou; seeing the caring sparkle in those beautiful emerald eyes that he could stare at for hours. Tears welled up in his eyes, rolling down his cheeks in uncontrollable waves.

“Sorry,” the blonde apologized, shook by the mere fact that he was standing in front of Midoriya once again.

On instinct, the younger male moved forward, wrapping the older male in a comforting hug and rubbing soothing circles in his back. “You have nothing to apologize for. You’re alright,” he nearly whispered into Bakugou’s ear.

The rest of the class sat in, either, shock or apathy. Some of the students were far too engrossed in personal actions or conversations to notice the questionable scene up front.“What’s with the fucking traffic jam?” the younger Katsuki complained as most all of the other students finished filing into the classroom.

The older Bakugou stepped back, smearing the tears off of his cheeks. His arm stayed wrapped around Midoriya’s shoulders, clearly confusing his younger self.

“Who the fuck are you?” he asked, as if there was anyone who looked exactly like him and wore his hero suit, “And why is Deku hugging you?”

That was a valid question to anyone who wasn’t watching their conversation like a creep.

Midoriya, clearly flustered, dropped his hands, honestly expecting Bakugou to do the same. Instead, Bakugou gripped his shoulder tighter, pulling the younger boy closer, “Maybe I was the one hugging him! Why do you care?” he bit back at his smaller self.

Katsuki scoffed, telling Bakugou that he had won and could drop his arm. Rather than let his arms dangle, he wiped off the the remnants of his earlier emotional droplets.Aizawa walked into the room with his typical tired look. Honestly, Bakugou was relieved by this wave of nostalgia; it felt good to remember how far he had come to get where he was. He was, now, the number two hero, at heart, since “Deku” was no longer a name that could protect the people; but he once was a UA brat who would pick a fight with his older self and cleverly dodge the feelings that he had for his childhood friend.

“I need to borrow him,” Bakugou called out to the teacher, placing a hand on Midoriya’s shoulder, “And talk to Toshinori,” he declared.

Of course, Aizawa was stunned by the fact that (Bakugou) even knew that All Might’s surname was Toshinori, much less had the audacity to call him by it. Bakugou saw the confusion on Aizawa’s tired face and decided to elaborate, “He said that I could call him that the day I became taller than him.”

Midoriya chimed in on the former topic, “I can finish my work by looking off of someone’s notes,” he promised, dying to know what this older Bakugou had to say to him and All Might.

Now Aizawa was left without a protest point, so he sighed with a “Fine, but don’t take all day, okay?” He didn’t want the student to get too far behind, no matter how important the matter was.“The quirk wears off in two hours, so he’ll be back some time before then,” Bakugou assured Aizawa. The blonde grinned to the teacher as he took the younger boy’s hand, intertwining their fingers in an almost loving manner, before leaving with Midoriya and rendering the rest of the class speechless.

Young Katsuki noticed the way his older self looked at Midoriya even more as they left the classroom, and it just didn’t sit well with him that anyone was making that type of face at Midoriya. He convinced himself that it was just disbelief; no one could love a Deku like him. Although a part of it, that he wouldn’t admit, was jealousy: how dare anyone look at Midoriya like that!

Somehow, yet, there was also a bit of envy in his mixing pot; how did he have the courage to be so obvious about it?Bakugou, however, wasn’t worried about anything other than keeping Midoriya close and explaining to Toshinori just how messed up All For One truly is. They navigated to a teacher’s pod, seeing the group of desks together in their designated rows, and Toshinori was there just as planned. “Toshinori, I need to speak with you,” everything about what happened was jaw dropping by itself, but together it made the room freeze.

(Bakugou) was significantly taller and older looking, not to mention more mature; “I need to speak with you,” to anyone is always anxiety inducing, even to pro heroes and teachers- sometimes even more stressful; and very few people knew All Might’s name, although most all of the facility did in fact know, but most people just called him “All Might.”Scrambling to his feet, the fragile looking man complied easily, seeing Midoriya stand beside the older blonde. Once he joined them in the hall, Toshinori started up small talk that Bakugou enjoyed hearing: how much taller he had gotten, the visible improvement to his physique; and the maturity that he now held. It was apparent that was just a temporary topic until they got to the room where they needed to be. The moment the door shut, Bakugou started off, “It’s about One For All-” Of course, both users knew the likelihood of that being the topic, but neither of them wanted to admit it.“This might change the course of history, me explaining this to you,” Bakugou sat down with a sigh, feelings visibly conflicting on his face, “Due to the multiverse theory and such, but-” His breath got caught in his throat as the hero choked on raw emotion.

Midoriya leaned over slightly, pushing himself against Bakugou’s arm to reassure the male that he was there for him. “All For One,” just the mere mention of his name was enough to freeze the air around them, “He is going to die soon.”

Reasonable confusion overtook the atmosphere, “Isn’t that a good thing?” Midoriya was the one who spoke up; Toshinori not daring to jinx anything.

“He returns to the quirk that he created: One For All,” Bakugou explained, not bothering to look at the other faces in the room. Midoriya looked like someone had just run over his year old puppy, and Toshinori’s face could have easily been mistaken for someone who got home to find their entire family massacred. It was difficult to explain, especially for someone who had never experienced the pain, “With a quirk that’s so dependant on its user’s ambition and emotion, his presence is unbearable-”
Once again the inky black swirled across his skin, igniting like a wildfire, but Midoriya couldn’t let it take him over. He wouldn’t let it take him over; All For One couldn’t control him if he had a level head.“Just remember that you are not alone,” it was both a warning and a reassurance. He tried to numb his ambition, “I want to get better,” “I want to be the best,” and his fighting spirit, “I need to get stronger,” but that was always how he had activated his quirk before.

Now that very fuel was gasoline; it was no longer lighter fluid, sparking the flames to new heights, nor was it kerosene that brightened it’s glow. It was gasoline, a liquid that could go up in sparks and explosions- just one wrong move and he would be done! He could hear that low, husky voice tempting him, “You don’t need to fight my power, child, just embrace my power and you’ll be unstoppable.”

Up until then, One For All had always had the same goal: to protect the people. From All For One’s younger brother, wanting to protect the people from an abuser and a tyrant, to Nana Shimura who wanted to protect the world’s smiling faces, One For All had always been a force against evil, but, now that evil was lying dormant. The other vestiges couldn’t help him, either; if they were to fight within Midoriya’s quirk, it could tear his mind apart, or worse, it could have effect on his body. He could only manage twenty percent of the quirk before All For One, but he had to return to fighting with five percent again with the power surplus. At five percent, Midoriya could shake the voice, and, with a bit more training, he was sure to reach ten percent soon! Hissing, the young hero in training fought against the flaming grip once more. All For One’s ambition was far greater than any of the vestiges, so he had more control over the current user’s conscious. His smooth words were tempting, “Accepting me would make this pain go away,” but it was impossible.“All of this power at your disposal, and yet you refuse to use it. You don’t think you can be a hero by using eight percent, do you?”
“Why you? A poor, quirkless boy just getting by, living with his mom and idolizing the heroes on tv. There are a million other possibilities for such a powerful quirk!”
“Have you never doubted the intentions of your precious heroes? Wondered why they did what they did?”
“If you had been born with a quirk of your own, you wouldn’t have to deal with any of this pain.”
“Your heroes just sit back and allow to suffer like this.”
“It’s your heroes fault that you’re in all of this pain.”The bastard could reach places with feelings that Midoriya had swept under the stairs. Ambition of strength. Confusion. Bitterness. He seemed to rule over all of the younger user’s negative feelings. At least from what Midoriya gathered, the vestiges were allowed to reach past the quirk only when he called out to their heart. If he wanted to reach out to Shimura, he had to wish deep down in his heart to see someone’s smile- like when he and Aizawa were training that time that his teacher pretended to capture Eri. Midoriya was supposed to be her prince, and save her with a smile. In his dreams, he was told that Toshinori would claim the spot of “ambition” when he returned to the quirk, but, of course, Midoriya couldn’t selfishly wish death upon the hero of so many just to lessen his own painShaking his head, Midoriya focused on the cool feeling of the grass between his toes, activating the cackling lightning once more. The need to keep himself calm shortly turned into a worry of itself; he couldn’t stop thinking of how badly he needed this to work. Still, he kept powering through. Five percent, he could manage. Eight percent got more difficult. Ten percent burned, little emotions taking hold of his psyche. Why did he have to always be in pain? Why was he born with the short end of the stick? Twelve percent and anything over, however, was when all of his hopes became burdens. Why was the sky the limit? Why did he need to stop when told? What was stopping him from making all of his dreams real? No, he couldn’t think like that, but still it churned burned in his throat as he bit back the scream of agony that threatened to leave his lips. If he couldn’t control his idle thoughts while training in an empty field, how would he control them in a fight against actual opponents? Shinsou wasn’t going to be there for him every time his need to win overtook him. What if it got worse, though? What if he found himself ever thinking about ending someone else’s life?He couldn’t-
He wouldn’t-
Bakugou remembered the look of pure agony on Midoriya’s face every time he tried to train with or tame that stupid quirk. “I sure as hell hope that you never have to go through that,” the older male’s larger hands took smaller ones in his grip, squeezing gently as Bakugou found himself leaning on Midoriya.

“That bastard makes being human painful,” volcanic eyes burned as he remembered overhearing a few of the things that his Midoriya would speak aloud in the middle of late night training or while walking aimlessly down the halls.

“Is there any way to prevent it?” Toshinori had to ask; the poor hero in training had already been through so much pain with, relatively, such little progress, and now there was another bump in the plan?

“Unfortunately, no. The only way that Deku managed to fight with it was by training his thoughts, but the sheer power still put quite the strain on his body,” Bakugou turned to Midoriya, recalling every little thing that he wished that he had done to help the love of his life, “Just, don’t be afraid to reach out to others. Releasing your emotions is a sure way to ensure that he can’t manipulate them. Don’t overwork yourself: when your mind is weaker, he has more control over you which puts worse strain on your body.”

Placing a steady hand on Midoriya’s cheek, Bakugou turned to face the young hero even further, “Know that no matter what you can always push through this. Deku is the name of a hero who never gives up. Even if you have a long road ahead of you before you can truly make this quirk your own, you will make it past this; you always have, and remember-” He cut himself off averting his eyes, ‘remember that I love you.’ Now he couldn’t quite say that, could he?“Remember that you are loved, by the people around you every day,” his crimson gaze flicked to Toshinori, beaming like the sunshine father that he was, “And by all of lives that you’ve touched,” ‘including mine.’

The sparkle of love was undeniable in Bakugou’s eyes, and Toshinori could tell that he had a lot to say to young Midoriya, “Well, I’m going to get back to work, but feel free to use my name for as long as you need, so long as young Midoriya is willing to work harder to catch up and not fall behind.”

Forest locks bounced enthusiastically, “Mhm!” Bakugou looked up with pure gratitude for the pro hero: something that didn’t go unnoticed in Toshinori’s vision. It was just Midoriya and Bakugou during that time, too.
The havoc across the city began to die down as heroes wrapped up their fights with the various League of Villains members that were fighting in their areas. Midoriya stood breathless and damn near broken as he just finished up his own fight. Shigaraki, the All For One user after his master faced imprisonment, was finally defeated, but it took the world out of Midoriya. In spite of this he still got back up and onto the battlefield, rushing towards a Nomu that was going after a young child.Green electricity cackled around his body as black ink spread across his skin. He had spent years upon years getting used to the pain, so much so that he had full control over his body, even with the haunting thought in his brain that something needed to die.

“Hey ugly!” he taunted the Nomu, earning himself an animalistic roar, despite the fact that the hunking beast could form clear sentences. Bakugou saw it, the fully powered Nomu charging for the worn out love of his life, but he kept moving forward to check the status of the poor kid that the Nomu was originally chasing. Thankfully, the kid was passed out- both thankfully in the sense that the child was okay, and thankfully the child wasn’t conscious to hear the crackling or screams coming from the hero, Midoriya.Bakugou snapped his head in that direction so fast that he nearly popped his neck. There stood Midoriya, fist to fist with the ugly beast. They were at a standoff power-wise, but, then again, the pro hero still refused to use his full power with such ill intent. Midoriya yelled defiantly as he continued to push his power and get the Nomu in front of him in an immobile state. Of course, the pro was able to shove the beast off, but it was only temporary. Then those defiant yells became screams of agony. Midoriya hit the ground; the lighting that surrounded him and his quirk turned the color of the night; and his hands flew to his own head, gripping it as if it was physically being ripped apart. Even from this distance, Bakugou could see the tears that flooded from emerald orbs and how they caught the light of the surrounding fires just right. What he didn’t want to see, however, was those brutish hands taking advantage of Midoriya’s sudden immobility. The Nomu slammed his fists down on the hero’s balled up body, reducing it to a gruesome mess that even the most sadistic son of a bitch wouldn’t be able stomach. Bakugou nearly vomited on the spot as helplessness and rage flooded his bloodstream. He just watched his husband- the love of his life was right in front of him and he watched him- he watched Midoriya die! Without doing anything other than standing and gawking with his jaw on the floor. The engraving on the inside of his ring torched his hand the entire time Bakugou took down the disgusting creature.“I’ll forever love you, my hero, Kaachan,”Some hero he was; watching somebody die right before his eyes, much less someone that he cared about. He didn’t even care about Midoriya; care wasn’t a strong enough word to describe the way he felt about that radiant smile, those reassuring eyes, the freckles that danced with every emotion Midoriya felt, hands that always reached out to anyone in need, his broad shoulders sheltering anyone from the wind.Bakugou fell to his knees next to the corpse. Only Midoriya’s face and his left arm were left at least decently in tact, as if the universe was just trying to rub Bakugou’s failure in his face. The stupid nerd had a smile on his face. At first, his counterpart wondered why; Midoriya certainly wasn’t suicidal and planned on living a full life protecting and saving as many people as he possibly could. Until, two half lidded emerald orbs gave it away. Their gaze was fixed on a rock off in the distance, near the young child that the Nomu was originally after- where Bakugou was sitting.Midoriya was in indescribable pain and fully well knew that he was about to die, but he smiled because the last thing that he would see was his husband’s face.
Of course Bakugou would be emotional finally getting a chance to see with someone like that again. He wrapped his arms around the younger boy, pulling them as close together as they could possibly be. Midoriya’s arms rested across his back, radiating a warmth that he hadn’t felt in far too long.

“I’m sorry I couldn’t do anything, this is all my fault,” he choked on a sob before the blonde felt himself being pushed him back. Face to face, smaller hands wiped the tears from crimson orbs. Sure, it was a bit difficult to accept the fact that he was in love with for the boy in front of him, but Midoriya had always been aware of his feelings for his childhood friend.

“My dumbassery is my dumbassery,” it was his turn to cup Bakugou’s face, “I knew the risks, but I did it anyway.” Bakugou still looked like he wanted to protest, but Midoriya kept talking, “Just the fact that you would get this upset for someone like me means worlds to me. I’ve always been chasing after you, but sometimes I just need to take a few steps forward,” Bakugou moved into Midoriya’s arms, “And, yes, I love you, but I know that I would do it again in a heartbeat, because I know that you are strong. I have faith in you to live happily with me in your heart, and that’s all I need in my afterlife.”Pouting into Midoriya’s shoulder, the older male grumbled, “That’s not fair.” Bakugou couldn’t fight anything that was said, because it was all true. That, of course, didn’t make anything less painful, though, as the blonde sat up and shoved a hand in his pocket.

“I grabbed this from his corpse so that no one else would get ahold of it, but it’s just been burning in my hand since I took it,” Bakugou explained holding out his hand for Midoriya to take. The younger of the two was almost wary to take whatever his counterpart was offering, but he trusted Bakugou, even if he was older looking, more rugged, and claiming to be from a time where they were married and Midoriya was dead.A cool band dropped into Midoriya’s open palm as he uncurled his fingers to look at it. Bakugou pointed at it and instructed, “Read the inscription.”
“You will always be my number one hero”
It was no real hyperbole, saying that Midoriya lit up like a stop sign that had been illuminated by a passing car’s headlight. Bakugou chuckled, taking the ring out of the younger male’s hands. Instead, he slipped it on to the middle finger of Midoriya’s left hand, so close to where his Midoriya once kept it, and pressed a soft kiss to the boy’s forehead. Bakugou pulled the younger boy back into an embrace, leaning against the couch and shortly dozing off with the boy in his arms.He couldn’t even lie, Midoriya enjoyed the half hour nap, despite the fact that he was awake for it all. Nonetheless, he had to consider it over as time ran faster than he wanted it to.

“Wake up,” he shook his older counterpart awake, “It’s time for you to leave.” Admittedly, Bakugou’s first thought was a dream where he and Midoriya were secretly dating throughout high school or something like that, but it was empyrean to wake up gazing into those stunning emerald eyes again. The blonde couldn’t risk the opportunity given to him, teasing, “Mornin’ Beautiful.”Hand in hand they walked back to the classroom where Bakugou assumed would be best for his quirk drop off, not to mention the fact that Midoriya needed to go there anyway. With every step, the hero physically felt his time getting shorter and shorter, until they were standing in Class 1-A in front of all of the students. It was then that he felt, almost a countdown-
Five.
He let go of Midoriya’s hand and turned back to face the boy.
Four.
He drank in the sight of the face in front of him and recalling every positive memory of those eyes in just a handful of milliseconds.
Three.
He leaned forward, pressing a soft, tender kiss to Midoriya’s lips and drinking in that feeling one last time
Two.
He pulled back reluctantly with a solemn smile on his face“I love you, Izuku.”
One.Bakugou stood back in his apartment, with nothing to prove that what just happened was real other than the flatness in his pockets where he gave the ring to Midoriya. Kirishima offered him a lopsided, friendly smile and open arms, and, for once, Bakugou accepted his embrace.

“If you want, you can tell me all about it,” he offered, rubbing reassuring circles on Bakugou’s back. The blonde nodded, sniffling as he attempted to regain composure.
