U.A was everything any aspiring teenage hero in Japan could dream of; it was the very school that produced All Might, the world's number one hero and symbol of peace, along with many other top pro heroes of today. It is a school that only accepts students that have the most potential to become certified heroes. Most are accepted through passing a rigorous written and practical entrance exam, only a small percentage of applicants make it through and an even smaller amount is accepted into the main hero course. However, there some lucky few who don't require applying by normal means, for they are purposely sought out by the school itself or recommended by external sources. These students are classified as recommendation students and often come from powerful and rich families with extremely gifted quirks some people only dream of. So, what would you think if a boy arrested and accused of murder was now considered a recommendation student and made it into the main hero course by hardly lifting a finger. Well, the rest of the world erupted with endless headlines, news articles, TV talks and more about how the most prestigious hero school had just accepted a fifteen-year-old murderer. It was anything anyone ever spoke about at the beginning of the school entrance exams and no one was unaware of it.Well, maybe just one. A girl that goes by Azumi Kazue is also an aspiring hero who dreams of getting into U.A to become a pro. She's been training endlessly, studying rigorously and worrying constantly about her chances of passing the entrance exams; a soundproof bubble had formed around her for the past few months, therefore, the news of a murderous applicant at the school she was studying for just flew over her head. Normally she was painfully optimistic about her chances, but this was a special case. She knew full well the standards required for this particular school. Yet by some miracle, she passed both the written and practical exam without too much trouble and became a certified student of the hero course. She was ecstatic, her world had suddenly seen the sun again after rigorous days of training and endless nights of studying, she was ready to start her new adventure at U.A high school and get stronger to become a hero. ***"Here we go." Azumi sucked in a breath as she finally found the 1-A sign within the gigantic halls of the U.A school grounds. Gripping her bag straps tightly, she stood at the entrance of the classroom. It almost felt like there was a dark looming force awaiting the other side of the door, there were sounds past the border but Azumi, already a bundle of excitement laced with nerves couldn't distinguish the voices behind the door. At least she knew there were already people in the room, all she had to do was open the door - but was she going to do it? She'd prefer not to.She started to pace herself. She quite literally began walking back and forth in front of the door uncertain how to handle the situation, wanting to make a good first impression to her fellow classmates, she went through different ways she could walk through the door. No.1: Walk in with confidence and politely announce a hello to the people already in the room.
No.2: Leap in and demand full attention and loudly announce herself and who she is.
Or No.3: Step in quietly like any other Japanese person, find her elected seat and wait until someone tried to talk to her.No.1 was looking very appealing, but she also really liked No.2."You."Azumi wasn't expecting a sound to appear right behind her as her hand was wavering over the handle. Out of instinct she ducked and dashed to the side to find the source letting out a noise that was incomprehensible and unknown to humankind."You're in the way." The owner of the voice loomed at her with a darkness she wasn't expecting to feel or see in this school. He was taller, he was broader and most importantly he was emitting a rather terrifyingly intimidating aura. "I- You- Uh- What?" Whilst tripping over her words she scanned over the stranger's appearance: his eyes were flat and tired with a dull teal green color, he had an undercut topped with overgrown, bleached blonde hair that hung low over his brow bone but what stood out most was the metal plate apparently bolted on across the bridge of his nose. There was some more metal near his neck peeking out from his unbuttoned collar, in fact, he wore the entirety of his uniform loosely and incorrectly. Azumi would've been annoyed about it if she had had more time to look at him, but he simply ignored her cluster of noises, brushed past her and opened the door to the classroom and shutting it after him leaving Azumi behind in the hallway.Azumi was at a loss for words. "Wait - what?" Although unsure of who she just encountered he was definitely something, something that her brain classed as interesting leading her to wonder who the rest of her class would consist of. Azumi finally found the courage to enter the room after another couple minutes of debating. Not all the seats were taken meaning she wasn't the last to arrive which gave her a sense of security, but the room did seem oddly quiet compared to what it was before she entered. She couldn't pick up why but she definitely noticed it. Taking in the variety of students that were seated, some were different colors, others clearly had mutation quirks but thankfully to her most of them seemed friendly enough to start a conversation with. Azumi would emphasize 'most of them' because there were at least two that had deadly expressions that said they weren't the friendly type. One was a guy with the messiest blond hair she's ever seen with red eyes that were practically on fire with his feet propped up on his desk; it irked Azumi how he glared at her when she entered the room and brushed past him to claim her seat. The other was the very same boy who had closed the door in her face, he sat in the back corner beside her very own assigned seat. Funnily enough, both of these boys wore their uniforms in the same disheveled way and seemed completely indifferent about the fact they were in the most prestigious hero school in Japan. Azumi attempted to make eye contact with the nose plate boy but he kept his vision religiously focused on either the wall at the top of the room or the flat surface of his desk while switching between them every two to three minutes. It seemed as if he was absolutely anywhere but in the classroom, this, however, didn't deter Azumi in her attempts to make eye contact. Her attention was drawn away from her new desk buddy as more students began to filter in and noise began to build. Azumi thought it best to watch and observe for the first day, see how others react, learn what the homeroom teacher is going to be like and evaluate a decent way to behave with her new classmates. She watched as three students conversed at the door and clearly blocked the way for any more entry. Counting the number of seats left the round-faced girl with a particularly bright ambiance was the last to arrive. She and two others spoke to each other by the door and Azumi listened intently to their conversation until the homeroom teacher arrived.A man cocooned in a yellow sleeping bag with eyes more dead than any Azumi had seen and she's seen a fair amount of dead eyes this morning already. His hair was long, black and desperately needed a brush, the entirety of his appearance was mildly disheveled as he stepped from his cocoon and addressed the class. "Hello I'm Shota Aizawa, your homeroom teacher," the man grumbled. "Right, let's get to it. Put these on and head outside." He pulled out the U.A P.E uniform and presented it to everyone. Azumi was even more excited now, fizzing in her seat at the thought of hero lessons beginning immediately. ***A quirk assessment test. Azumi and the rest of the class were not expecting that in the slightest, or at least not on the first day. This meant they were going to miss orientation. "You can't waste time on pointless ceremonies," Aizawa droned out, silencing those who complained about missing it. "Here at U.A we're not tethered to traditions. That means I can run my class however I see fit."Azumi was starting to like this guy. Way more interesting than her last homeroom teacher that's for sure. Azumi was always drawn to interesting, a dangerous habit to have. So she soaked in every word he said like a sponge. This assessment test was basically going to be a normal physical fitness test but this time the students were allowed to use their quirks in any way that would improve their normal scores. Azumi's heart leaped with excitement. With her quirk these exercises would be ten times easier since she wasn't physically the most fit without it. When she watched the boy with fiery eyes being used as an example in the ball throwing, where it reached 705 meters with a quirk she could only recognize as explosions, Azumi couldn't wait to get started like some of the other students expressed as well."You have three years to become a hero. You think it's going be all games and play time?" Aizawa spoke up again with irritation. "Idiots, today you'll compete in eight physical tests to gauge your potential. Whoever comes in last has none and will expelled immediately."Azumi suddenly felt her stomach churn. Expulsion if you don't show potential on the first day made her question what she signed up for. 'What was the point of the entrance exam then', she would question but reminded herself she was staying quiet and observing first. She learned already she doesn't want to upset this teacher no matter the circumstance. It was up to her now, she had to try her best and get a decent score to stay in this course. She had to, she needed to. With Aizawa explaining how the unfairness of this test is just Azumi found herself building up. Her shoulders leveled out, her back straightened and she took in a decent breath of air before preparing herself for this test. A test on the first day is not going to be the worst of it and she had to remind herself about that. ***First up is the 50 meter dash. Azumi wasn't particularly worry or stressed about this one, her quirk was suited for something like this when applied correctly. Azumi watched as the others ran, floated, slid and or flew across the 50 meters with a range of colorful quirks. "Kazue. Kyota. Get moving, you're up next." Aizawa ordered after the fifth pair finished. Azumi stumbled over to her starting point and looked to her side to see her running partner. Nose plate boy. She stared at him for a moment hoping once again to catch his attention, yet he looked straight ahead with his hands in his pockets and his feet in a braced stance. Azumi realizing she needed to focus and got into her starting position. She collected her thoughts and had her palms face towards the sky. The moment she heard the fake gunshot from the timer her legs propelled her forward and upwards and her quirk was in full swing. A godly gust of wind pressed up against her back and pushed her forward with such force she soared past the finish line. However stopping was a challenge. She stuck her feet out to brace herself but the momentum threw her off balance and she skidded face first into the dust. "4.01 seconds." The robot measured as Azumi awkwardly got up from the ground her skin slightly sore from the friction. "You okay there man?" Someone chimed to her as she got up to her knees. Looking up she met with a sharp toothy grin, red spiked hair and a friendly gesture to help her to her feet. She laughed and took the hand displayed before her. "Yeah, that was totally planned for by the way." Azumi chuckled making the friendly boy laugh. "100% intentional."AZUMI KAZUE
Her Quirk: Thunderstorm!
Her power can conger any element or aspect of a storm! Wind, rain and sometimes even lightning! Azumi's quirk was always considered useful in many situations. It wasn't classified as powerful but had the potential to be if trained and mastered correctly. Azumi however, had a horrible sense of balance and it made it difficult to learn certain moves she's always imagined doing. She just about mastered making herself float with the correct use of wind and she's still working on making a combo with the wind and rain together. Her little crash landing shows she still hasn't nailed stabling herself in the air yet and landing needs serious work. Her lightning ability was something she was both proud and embarrassed of. It was powerful enough but the drawback was that she could only use it once as of this moment. Once that lightning strikes she's out of commission for at least an hour. “Well, that’s a pretty awesome quirk.” The red haired boy beamed after laughing at Azumi’s sarcasm. This boy was practically brimming with enthusiasm and a friendly aura, ‘very heroic like’ Azumi thought. “Name’s Eijirou Kirishima.” The boy beat his chest with a single fist as he introduced himself.“Azumi Kazue, nice to meet you.” Azumi smiled just as brightly. She knows she said that she was going to watch and observe but she can’t simply ignore someone who tries talking to her. Especially if this person is being rather friendly. The boy known Kirishima was about to continue talking when Azumi’s running partner walked past them without acknowledgement.“5.03 seconds.” Azumi remembered hearing the machine say when she crashed landed. He was a whole second slower than her, but something told her speed wasn’t his speciality.“Is that him?” Another guy with blond hair whispered to Kirishima, with both of the males’ defenses up. They seemed incredibly nervous. “Yeah, I think so.”Azumi was beyond confused when the two boys went really quiet. Did the nose plate boy do something when he walked by? Azumi didn’t really get it and looked back to the 50 meter length and couldn’t help but notice the large indent running down the full 50 meters. It made her wonder what the boy’s quirk was. ***Next up was the grip strength test, now this was something Azumi wasn’t going to excel in. This required physical enhancing quirks and sadly she didn’t have that. She squeezed the grip as hard as possible with trying to use her wind to tighten her grip but it did help much. She was able to get 50 kg. She scowled at the number knowing it could at least be a little higher if she trained her body more. After that came the standing long jump, which Azumi was grateful for. All she had to do was use the same technique she did for the fifty meter dash. She flew across the distance but had to be careful not to fall this time. It was a challenge but she nailed it with a decent score comparing it to some of the others. The repeated side steps were made easier when she used her wind once again to toss her side to side, it was messy but it did the trick. In fact Azumi used her wind for nearly every test. It was the best way to get the highest scores she could. When the ball throw came up she knew exactly what she was going to do. Azumi tossed the ball as high as possible and activated her wind to hurricane level and the ball nearly flew out of sight until she spotted a small dot in the distance no-one else was bother to try spot. Aizawa held up the score on his device “691.5 meters.” Some of the other students gawked at the score that was relatively close to boy with the highest score in the entrance exam. Azumi was just happy that it was a decent score that will keep her from getting expelled. She gave herself a reassuring fist bump and joined the other students, Kirishima and a few others congratulated her on another decently high score and she found herself feeling good about herself. But she suddenly heard an irritated scoff to the side, the fiery eyed boy was glaring at her with such despise she felt her stomach drop a bit. “Don’t even think you’re better than me blue hair!” The boy growled loudly at her with such harshness that she felt offended by his remark."Technically my hair is a teal color." She corrected the boy while swatting some of the short messy teal colored hair out of her face. The boy scowled even harder. "Shut it smart-ass!" Azumi wasn't one to make quick judgments on people, but she knew she wasn't going to get along with this boy. He was too full of pride and unfiltered anger that talking to him wouldn't be difficult, it would damn near impossible. "Alright. Next." Aizawa dismissed the potential fight and gestured for the next student. Next up was a shortish boy with the curliest green hair and freckles that seemed awfully uncommon for a Japanese. He appeared nervous and Azumi had noticed how he hasn't excelled in any of the tests so far. Azumi was curious to see how he'd do for this, but her expectations weren't that high."If Midoriya doesn't shape up soon, he's the one going home." The engine legged boy identified as Tenya Iida observed the freckled boy's movements. Fiery boy growled in response "Huh?! Of course he is. He's a quirkless loser." He pointed a finger ahead. Azumi raised a brow at the statement. "What do you mean quirkless?" She whispered more to herself. Being quirkless and getting this far seems practically impossible considering the standards for this course. "He has a quirk." Tenya corrected him. "Did you not hear about what he did in the entrance exam?" So he does have a quirk, Azumi thought to herself.Freckled boy stands there for a moment before seemingly giving all his might into his throw but somehow the ball barely made it to 50 meters. 46 meters to be exact. Azumi was confused by all means. Even freckled boy himself was lost as to what happened. "I erased your quirk." The teacher responds to the confusion. Looking at him now, his eyes were beaming red with intensity, his hair was disheveled all over place and the scarf had unwrapped itself exposing goggles around his neck. It took a moment of inspecting but she finally recognized the goggles. They belong to the Erasure Hero; Erasure Head, an underground hero who has a unique ability of cancelling out people's quirks just by looking at them. To think he was actually Azumi's homeroom teacher. This day is just filled with surprises. "The judges for the exam, were not rational enough. Someone like you should never had been allowed to enroll in this school."Azumi felt sweat form at the back of her neck. This man's intensity was overbearing. "You're not ready, you don't have control over your power. Were you planning to break your bones again? Counting on someone else to save your useless body?" That was the last that Azumi was permitted to hear when Aizawa pulled freckled boy in closer with his scarf. Azumi wasn't sure what she was missing here but she knew she was missing a lot. It seems the rest of the class actually had a clue as to what Aizawa was referring to when he said 'break your bones again'. Maybe Azumi missed too much when she was so focused on the entrance exams. Although strangely enough, when Azumi was looking and listening into the other students she spotted nose plate boy within the shadows of the others. His gaze was off into the distance and completely unfocused on what was happening in front of him. He was really detached from this place, it made Azumi think where he was at this moment. Aizawa eventually released freckled boy and sent him to throw the ball again. With both hesitance and confused determination freckled boy gripped the ball and finally threw it. "SMASH!!!" With a forced scream he release the ball and went soaring out of sight with shock waves pushing through the air."705.3 meters." Was displayed of the device when the ball finally landed. "Mr. Aizawa." Freckled boy winced from his sudden badly damaged finger. "You see, I'm still standing!" He tried smiling to hide the pain. The entire class was in shock, even Azumi. She was so intrigued. ***The day continued to get more interesting with fiery eyed boy reaching a godly level of rage about freckle boy's sudden peak in abilities but it went by so fast Azumi couldn't comprehend much of what was going on. She just knew this group of students were interesting and she just loves interesting. The next fitness exercises went by without interruption. Azumi using her wind in the sit ups to make it easier, she tried her best in the seated toe-touch but she wasn't all that flexible despite being female and slimmer than most and she practically floated her way through the long distance run. A little clumsily done but she did rather well all round. Finally the moment of truth arrived. "Alright, time to give you your results."Aizawa announced to them. "I've ranked you all from best to worst. You should probably have a good idea of your standing already. I'll just pull up the whole list it's not worth going over each individual score."Then just like that the list of twenty two names were brought up on display. Azumi scanned them rigorously, desperately searching for her name. Eventually she found it."8. Azumi Kazue." She let out a breath of relief. She even made it to the top ten, this was a good day. As she looked at the other characters she stopped at the name right below hers. "9. Kota Kyota." Azumi recalled the name Kyota from her 50 meter dash. Nose plate boy's full name was apparently Kota Kyota. He also made in the top ten. "And I was lying, no one is going home." Aizawa pipped up while putting away the list. "That was just a rational deception to make sure you gave it your all in the tests." He smirked his oddly toothy grin and Azumi felt the blood leave her face. "That was pretty nerve-wracking huh?" The sellotape boy known as Sero turned to Kirishima who smirked. "Nah, I'm always down for a challenge.""Idiot!" Azumi randomly yelled at herself and had her own palm slam across her face. "Why didn't you guess that?! Idiot!" Some of the students looked her way with some concern but none approached when she slapped herself a couple more time just to let her get her frustration out. "That's it, we're done for the day." Aizawa finally concluded and began to walk away. "Pick up a syllabus in the classroom, read it over before tomorrow morning." Then with that the class of 1-A were left to their own devices. Some turned to each to chatter and talk about the already stressful events that have occurred in this course. Although Azumi was worried for the majority of the day she knew that getting into this course was a good life choice, or least she hoped. She wasn't sure if she will enjoy her time here at U.A but it will be an experience she will not forget. Looking at the colorful characters that are being presented to her she'd hope to make some decent friends along the way. Kirishima seemed nice, Denki and Sero did too and the girls of course. Yet Azumi couldn't help but be curious about nose plate boy, or Kota. Like every other time she looked at him, he was isolated from the gathering of students and his eyes were focused on Aizawa as he left the scene. Once the teacher was gone Kota was ready to leave for the changing rooms. Something came over Azumi in that moment and she called him out while approaching. "Hey. You. Nose plate boy. Kyota!" She struggled to get his attention but he finally stopped walking. He half turned around not fully engaging with Azumi. He looked down at Azumi with the same blank eyes as he did the first time. "You got in the top ten too didn't you? So you must be pretty strong huh?" Azumi chirped with her normal friendliness towards him, but Kota seemed unfazed and simply continued to stare her down. Azumi didn't notice but the entire class in the background went quiet when she approached Kota. "I'm Azumi Kazue. And you're Kota Kyota right?" Azumi gestured to herself when giving her name but Kota still stared at her without wavering. The only response she eventually got was a slow blink from him and then he turned back around and walked off. Azumi was in shock by his silence and lack of mannerism. She didn't know how to react for a moment when she was left in silence by herself watching his retreating figure. When Kota was finally out of earshot it felt as if a dark omen finally left the area and murmurs began to rumble between the class. Azumi raised a brow and huffed a little bit. "What's his deal? I was only trying to be friendly."Some of the students gasped. "You didn't actually try talk to that guy did you?" Kirishima came up to Azumi with a look of fear and concern. "Yeah?" She raised a brow worried if she actually did something wrong, which was highly unlikely to her. "Are you crazy? Do you even know who that guy is?" Denki blurted obviously shocked by her action. His made it seem as if Azumi already new something about this Kota guy that she actually didn't. "No? Am I meant to?" She asked genuinely curious why everyone was suddenly so tense talking about this Kota."You seriously don't know?" Kirishima by this point was lost for words. Azumi shook her head waiting for someone to reveal the big secret, but everyone seemed reluctant to spill the beans, until Tenya Iida took the initiative."That was Kota Kyota. The infamous recommendation student who was arrested and framed for murder." Tenya used robotic hand gestures while explaining, but when he said it the whole class seemed to swallow down their nervousness. It took a few seconds for Azumi to comprehend the words but she somehow still didn't seem to understand the weight of them. "What, really?""How could you not know? It's been all over the news for weeks." Denki blurted out again. Azumi shrugged. "I haven't looked at news in while." The others suddenly felt exasperated with her lack of reaction, any normal person would have freaked out learning they had just tried talking to a murderer. But for some reason Azumi couldn't seriously believe it and so it didn't feel dramatic. Azumi looked back to where Kota's silhouette was nearly out of range and thought for a second. She whispered to herself thinking back to his behavior of the entire day. The way he seemed so distant and lost, his head was always in the clouds at any point she looked at him. As if hoping no-one would notice him that way. "Is that why?"
