There were cuts on his hands and the scarf around his neck felt too constricting despite wearing it for years. His unkempt beard felt too scratchy when his hand rubbed on his chin but smaller ones wrapped around his chest, feeling the dainty hands run across his chest. He heaves and he relaxes in her touch.
A soft sigh escaping his lips as he turns around to meet his darling. Her face planted in between his tensed shoulders, her hot breath seeping into the dark cloth to meet his skin. It felt like home. In the small apartment where they shared, where the moonlight peers into the sheer curtains of their living room and envelopes them in a soft glow, he is calm. He is at bay and feels the rush of the night going away, fading along with the stars in the skies.
It was only him and you. Tall as he is, he bends down to meet you. He buries his face, rough from the night patrols, on your shoulder. He moves closer and leaves a tired kiss on the exposed flesh of your neck, just right under your ear. The sound you made had him swoon. His heart beating fast and mind going around in circles, asking him if this is what he truly deserves.
Were you real? He pulls away. He hopes you didn’t hear him.
“No I am not”
A sinister grin formed on the lips on you and his eyes widened.
He snaps awake in his couch. His heart pounding fast and head throbbing from the sudden surge of realization. Like the bullet train he rode, it had hit him quick.
He wasn’t yours. He looks down at his feet, then to the living room. There were no sheer curtains that hung on his windows, no moonlight that embraces him in its soft glow and there was no you.
Dry and chapped lips were parted to free the mouth of a sigh with him lying back down on the hard couch, an arm placed over to cover his eyes. The Pro Hero was deep in thought and feared to further humour himself with the thought of you.
A kind, gentle spirit who cared too much. Albeit quirkless in this maddening world, he still thinks you were powerful. It takes a lot to bring him on his knees and you managed to do it with one wave of a hand, a smile at him and a simple “Hello”. You always had him at hello and it makes his stomach hurt. Always anticipating what you were to say next.
Maybe. Maybe if he had the balls. Just had the balls to ask you out for coffee, even once, maybe he’ll stop having these dreams and his stomach would stop hurting.
And a part of him hopes that you’ll like him back.
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
The clothes were all discarded and forgotten, all hastily pushed aside due to the uncontrollable need to feel two bodies rub against each other. In the heat of the moment, the two beings found the bed and plopped down. Leaving kisses on each other as they both declared words of love and promises of happiness together.Strong arms were wrapped around you, it was lean and muscular just as you had figured out when you first saw him. His hot breath tickled the nape of your neck as he embraced you from behind. You feel him pull you closer into his hug, a satisfied sigh leaving your lips as you snuggled closer to him. His scratchy chin rested just at the junction of your neck and shoulders as he left a trail of kisses, making you giggle in the process. You pulled his arm closer against you and you felt yourself drift closer to sleep. The soft breeze of the night air lingered inside the room, as the moon played the role of the only light source, making the situation all too cozy and romantic, even for your standards.Suddenly, the blanket weighed upon you with great pressure, stirring you awake and the arm that was lovingly wrapped around you started to pull away. There was panic written all over your face. You turned to him, Aizawa, with tears threatening to fall. You see him shuffle out of bed, putting on his clothes and making his way to the door. He looks back with a cold gaze and your heart dropped. No words were exchanged, only the painful realization that he had left you. You tried to move your body but the blanket kept you in place, only really being able to move your neck from one angle to another.A horrible feeling in your gut emerged and you opened your mouth, yet no sound was produced.Your eyes shot open, darting across your lonesome room as you tried to control your breathing and the cold sweat dampened your face, causing some hairs to stick on your forehead. The plush comforter on you was thrown aside as tears freely streamed down your face.He would never like you like that. You’ve seen how he acts around those who dared to even admire him, like Ms.Joke. He brushes them off coldly without hesitation. Trying to even talk to him was far too hard as well, only exchanged glances and curt nods and you'd be a nuisance to him. A big hurdle for him get done with. It was simply too illogical for him. You were quirkless and someone as powerful as him would want someone at his equal. And for now, you’ll be satisfied with the dreams, despite always ending like this. It was enough for you.
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
Being trapped inside the mall’s elevator wasn’t fun while you were carrying at least 3 bags of groceries. The 3rd floor view of the fight between a villain and a pro-hero looked lovely though, the alleged bullet proof glass encasing of the elevator provided such. You sat there watching the hooded figure jumping from ledge to ledge just to escape the pro hero Eraserhead (your coworker). The bandages on his neck wrapped around the villain’s skinny ankle causing him to claw the glass barriers of the ledges. And you felt the elevator you rode on jump, making you flinch and huddle yourself further away from the glass. Then a growl rumbled from above and the sound of metal being crushed. You look up and squinted. It was the fucking villain. Great. His hood drops and revealed a large sinister grin forming on his face. Signs of metal remains around his sharp teeth and you swore you saw his gums bleeding lightly. He jumps inside the small space with you, dropping down on his all fours like some elegant cat and gracefully getting up.“Hehe, hey there pretty lady” he waves. You kept your mouth shut. “C’mon scream. I need to throw off that fucking Eraserhead-”And another thud on the roof of the elevator alerted you both. Two heavy booths stomp above and Eraserhead drops in. Without a second thought, the villain grabs a hold of you while stumbling abit due to your groceries. He drags you up, an arm around your neck prompting you to gasp and another hand holding your hands behind your back.“Ah, Eraserhead!” he says. The pro-hero turns to him. The both of you saw how became tensed all of the sudden. The villain smirks.“Move an inch or even try using your quirk on me and i’ll bite her neck off!” He opens his mouth and reveals his sharp teeth. He moves his hand onto the side of your head and forcefully moves it to side. You swallow your fear. The other man steps closer and you feel the prick of his teeth. You cringe at his hot breath brushing against your now damp skin. His breath stinks, you thought. The pro hero is planted on his position. You see his fists ball. And the villain yelps out. You had pinched the exposed flesh of his arm and he had accidentally lets you go. Two small crescent shaped marks were indentended with the color red surrounding it, the villains looks down to it then to you. He grew angry.“You bitch!” He lunges towards you, mouth open and ready to attack you. “You’re gonna fucking regret that!”You were frozen in place, closing your eyes as you wished for the best. Then a crash rang into your ears as broken shards of glass were scattered on the cold tile. A crunch had you shot your eyes open and you see Eraserhead, Aizawa Shouta, come close to you. You couldn’t see him behind those goggles of his, but you felt his eyes bore into yours. A blush forming on your cheeks as he reached for you. A warm hand strokes your cheek.“You got cut” he says with a hint of disappointment in his voice. You didn’t even notice the blood dripping slowly down as his hand rested on the cut. He clicks his tongue and sighs.“Era-Shouta…” you whisper. He lights up suddenly. “Thank you, Shouta” you smile. He brings his hand back and then he sighs. He thanks that the bandages wrapped around his neck is covering the light shade of pink forming his cheeks. For a while, the two of you stood in silence as the sound of sirens come. The sun was about to set and the soft orange glow appears inside the elevator, creating such a picturesque imagery of you. Something he would see inside only in his dreams, though he would much prefer if the blood wasn’t there. Still, you were gorgeous.“Thank you” you say again.“I’m just doing my job” he says your name, the vowels rolling perfectly off on his tongue. A warm feeling shot in you, your heart throbbing from the adrenaline from the fight and the current alone moment with him, albeit being inside such a dangerous place.Eraserhead steps closer to the giant hole and looks down. He see the police surrounding the unconscious villain on the ground floor then looks at you.“You want a lift down?” he lazily asks. His hand rubbing at the back of his neck. You’re just helping her out. This isn’t an elaborate excuse for you to hold her , he thinks.“Sure. I’d love to-one” you giggle nervously. You bent down to pick up the remaining unharmed groceries and move close to him.And he wraps an arm around you It feels so toned , you think as you fought the second blush to form on your cheek. He uses his bandages to wrap on some steel beams to lower the both you down. He pulls you in closer and your heart speeds up. Oh, this feels nice, you think once moreYou became slightly disappointed when you feel your feet on the floor but Aizawa’s wrap around never loosened. One heart beat and a blink, he lets you go slowly, as if he was savoring the moment. The weight of his arms still lingering around your waist and so did his scent in your nose.Yeah, this was an excuse for you to hold her, he thinks to himself and a small smile forming on his lips as he turns and walks away. He's going to remember how you feel against him and it will haunt him until the day he dies unless he does something about it.--From a window inside a coat shop, a man watches from afar. He peeks his head just by the displays and he almost smashes the mannequins in front of him. He fumes and grits his teeth, a nerve seemed to pop out of his neck, his eyes widened and he sees nothing but red.
HOW DARE YOU
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
A slow day meant something for Aizawa, it lets him rest and catch up on life. Sitting alone in his apartment though, proved to be a difficult task. The dreams haunt him to no end and it plays like a vivid recording all in his own perspective. His bloodshot eyes staring outside of his window on one shady afternoon. He pauses his breathing and remembers the day at mall. Inside the elevator, the villain and you in his arms. His own thoughts invading him.
Stop it, Shouta. You don’t deserve her
He grumbles under his breath and leaves the view to make way to his small kitchen.
You don’t even have time for yourself. How will you make time for her?
It’s true. It’s only logical for him to not pursue such a relationship. He’d only end up neglecting a relationship that would only work from the start and would crash and burn in the longer run. A part of him wants to see what will happen though, his hands long to be held just as his body. A craving for something so wholesome, so domestic and so precious in this bizarre world he walks on. His heart yearns for another soul.
Put yourself second before anything else, Shouta.
He feels tense. An invisible pressure weighing down on him as he tries to sit down on the wooden chairs of his dining table set.
You’re in love
“No I’m not”
You crave for her
“...No”
Take the risk. She might be worth your time
He cringes at his own thoughts. He hates being alone in virtually quiet room. The white noise from his ceiling fan isn’t helping at all.Small images of you began to manifest in the corners of his brain, all laid out for him to choose from and all of them in such a domestic setting inside of his lonely apartment.
What would it be? One where she’s smiling at you? Perhaps something lewd? Naked and writhing on your bed? Can you imagine that, Shouta? Oh, maybe something else.
He knits his eyebrows together and his hands are balled into a fist. He slams his head on the wooden table to stop the thoughts. A warm and insatiable need forms inside of him that suddenly spreads all over his body. His face and the tip of ears becoming red.
Maybe...one where she’s heavy with your child. A ring band on one of her fingers and she’s-
A crash and an explosion alerts him. The train of thought stops and he rushes outside he fumbles with his regular hero gear. The bandage hastily wrapped around his neck and his goggles still in his hand, not bothering to put it on. At the same time, the weight on him suddenly vanishes when he steps outside his apartment complex.
Go, Shouta. Go!
He makes his way to the source of the explosion and moves in the streets. He swears he hears another voice in his brain laugh at him.--
Someone watches him from afar, hands curled into a fist on his sides as he spits onto the ground below. Impatience boils in him and he stomps away He needs to do something about this
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
The next day, Aizawa was back to work.Grading papers, telling kids what to do, napping and occasionally staring at the sole computer teacher of U.A. The thoughts from yesterday still lingered and nipped his brain from time to time whenever he was alone inside the school’s faculty office. The coffee didn’t help, the loud shouts from his class couldn’t drown out the sounds of the teasing whispers and it certainly didn’t help when you’d passed by him and greet him.More images of you appeared in his brain, leaving him a bit flustered but it was truly a bothersome as he was trying to work.
Tell her she looks pretty, Shouta! Give her a compliment. Just corner her and give her a kiss, girls love that shit-
He needed to do something. He missed thinking logically and rationally. This shit’s not got to stop.--Curling up in his yellow sleeping bag wasn’t doing anything so he opted to stay inside the cafeteria. He sat alone, just by the side of the tall windows as Lunch Rush gave his hot cup of black coffee. He mumbles out a thanks behind his bandage scarf as the other person left. He closes his eyes for a while, aiming to take a short nap. With his arms crossed on his chest and back and body slightly slumping against the oddly comfortable chair, he drifts into sleep. For a few hours, he dreams of nothing but flowers inside the computer lab“Hey”Eyes shot wide open without a second missing and he moves his head in different directions to find the source of the sound. At the same, the source of the sound was none other than the object of his affections. His always welcomed distraction.You.“Hey, Aizawa-san” you take a chair right across him and sat. “You were gone for like an hour. I didn’t know you were here. It’s almost time to go home too!” “I needed to catch some shut eye” he says. He takes his coffee and sips. He scrunches up his face the moment the coffee, now cold, touch his upper lip. Unbeknownst to him, you smile and stare at him, all dreamy like a 14 year old in love.“What?” he asks a brow raised with his head tilted. The same monotonous tone that coats his voice but it makes you shiver. The hairs on your back standing due to the rumble of his low voice. You turn your attention to something else, avoiding his gaze. But his look softens when he notices it. He relaxes.“Hey”You hum out in response.“Want to visit that cat cafe that just opened up?”And a heartbeat rang into your ears and this time Aizawa looks away. You couldn’t tell the expression on his face but the slight tinge of red on him made your heart smile.“I-I’d love to”“All right”“All right”“Meet me by the train station on Saturday. 1 pm” he states as he tries to hide the boiling feeling down in his gut. “Aye aye captain” you responded. A playful tone hinted as you winked at him. Ever so slightly, the corner of Aizawa’s lips curl up.“I won’t be late, Aizawa-san” “You should drop the formalities, you know” he sighs. “It’s just the two of us”“All right, Shouta” you repeat “How does that sound?”“Lovely” You're lovely. The way you say my name is lovely. You lightly laugh. As you got up your seat, you hadn’t notice that you bumped into the chair. The white mug spilling and its contents dripping onto Aizawa’s black pants. Your eyes widened and your mouth formed an ‘o’, digging into your pockets as you bring out your red handkerchief.“Shit-” you took a step closer to him. He as well stood up and watched the cold coffee dribble down to the cold tiles of the cafeteria. “Fuck- I’m so sorry Aizawa. I didn’t mean to knock it over you and-”Silently, he watches you fuss over such an unnoticeable stain on his black pants. He blinks as he watches your lips move as you continued to ramble out.
Such soft lips. Would you like to kiss them?
“No..”You were taken a back suddenly. You stopped talking to wait for him to say something. You feared as you may have fucked up somehow“N-no…?” you squeak out“Ah- I mean” he clears his throat as he rubs the back of his neck. One hand in his pocket and back slouched a bit. It was a very Aizawa mannerism it seems. “No worries about the coffee thing. It was cold anyway”He stares at the stain. His outfit was black anyway, why bother?“Ah, I’m still sorry about it!” you handed your handkerchief to him “Here. Use this to dry it or something” he oogles at it for a moment before he accepts it with a sigh. You smiled when he took it from.“So about the coffee-”“Don’t sweat it. It was cold anyway”“I’ll buy you one when go to the cat cafe”He looks up to you and he smiles. “Sure. So long as you let me buy you what you want to eat”In return you blush as your breath hitched. If this was an attempt of him flirting then let the Lord or Buddha know that he was doing such a good job. Your heart beat and the butterflies in your stomach going wild with every passing minute. The tender moment didn’t last as the two of you flinched when a small beeping sound alerted you both.A small buzzing inside your pocket caught your attention. You cursed under your breath as you brought your phone out and looked at the notification.“Time flies so fast” you clicked your tongue “Sorry, Shouta-” you sighed. “I’ve gotta bounce. It’s already 5 pm. I have an appointment”“S’kay” he raises his hand in acknowledgement “I’ll see you on Saturday”“Saturday. 1 pm. Got it!” you nodded at him as you walk to the door. You look back and waved at him. And with that, you left him. He spaces out for a while. Did that just really happen? His heart then skips a beat when he realizes that he had forgotten to give your handkerchief back. The red cloth in his hand, stained with coffee. The fabric became damp. And there was hesitation. He brings it to his nose and inhales.
The coffee is strong but he can smell the scent of a powdery and soft scent. Her perfume.
He parts with it and there was a small smile on his face.
I know what you want Shouta. Give in.
His eyebrows furrowed suddenly. It’s those damned thoughts again.--The reporters voice was taken over by the laughter of a blond voice hero named Present Mic. He downs another glass of his beer and lets out a pleased sound. With him, is his friend who needed to stay sober enough to take the both of them back to their homes safely.“-including a Pro-Hero named Flamingo, who unfortunately, fell off of a 10 story high building just this day-”“Shouta’s got a dateeeee!” a shriek from Hizashi Yamada made Aizawa’s eye twitch. His grip on his non-alcoholic drink tightened.“-the hero confirmed that its due to the thoughts. We’ll get back to this stories when more updates are given”The female reported clears her throat and fixes the paper in her hands.“Now to the weather!”The old owner of the bar switches to a different channel that caused Aizawa to knit his brows together. He was dragged to corner bar by Yamada. He didn’t even get half of what the report said thanks to him. But something felt wrong at the same time while he watches his friend drunkenly walk around telling jokes to the patrons with his signature obnoxious laughter.Somewhere in the corner of the bar, he hears a familiar voice chattering among the groups of people seated and standing. He tries to cancel out the other background noises to focus solely on that, alas, he was shaken out of concentration by a slap on the shoulder by another person. He looks back and sees Nemuri. A wide smile on her face, with a beer. She laughs along with Yamada. Joining in the conversation about the pretty computer teacher as she gave tips to Aizawa, much to his dismay.
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
Golden Girl.A hero name you’ve come up for yourself ever since you were young. You’ve heard your father call you that for the longest time and why not use it? Oh, the irony though when you found out about that one extra fucking joint.
Quirkless
Written in such a small font you had to squint to read it. But still, with a 20/20 vision and your eyesight went blurry. Hot tears dripped down your cheeks and your father begging you for forgiveness the moment you stepped into your home. You never inherited your late mother’s illuminating quirk, not even a smidge of your father’s ability to make things float.
Quirkless
Teased by peers and you would come home with the biggest fucking frown on your lips, cheeks stained with tears and snot dripping down your nostrils. Your good old dad kneels beside you and gives you a tight hug then wipes your face clean.“You’re still a golden girl, sweetie. You just don’t see it”He cries harder than you.--You grew up normal. You got over the bullying and went to college. Studied under Software Engineering and landed yourself a six figure job at some company. You transferred from one office to another due to the endless recommendations by your higher ups until you went and become one of All Might’s programmers for their technical department. A few months into the job, there was no sign of you transferring again to another company.Someone calls your name and you pause.“Oh, Mr.Toshinori” you put down your work and turn to meet him on your swivel chair. He stands there behind you, slouching with his hands behind his back. “How can I help you?” your arm rests on the edge of the white and cool computer table.“Do you know U.A?” he asks. Your back straightens and nod at him. Who doesn’t know about that hero school? You remember your wasted youth fantasizing about getting into a hero course and wowing a sea of pro-heroes. But shit happens, like an extra joint, and then you’re stuck with an almost interesting desk job with Japan’s number one pro-hero.WIth these thoughts flushed out of your system, it takes a minute for you to respond to the skeleton of a man“Who doesn’t?”“You see” he clears his throat and says your name “They’re looking for a new computer teacher for the support class and-”You didn’t even catch what he says next. You just mindlessly said“Yes”--There you were. A teacher. For some reason and you enjoyed every minute of it. Your throat would hurt at the end of the day, all dry and itchy from repeating the same lessons over and over again. But it was worth it.Aside from the pay and maybe a childhood dream fulfilled, you get to see your co-worker Aizawa Shouta. Always a charmer but he never notices it, you say. You only spoke a few words to him.
Hi. Hello. Want to eat lunch together? Do you have an extra pen on you?
Then your small talks turned into actual conversations about your students, then to some interests and then cats. Then he would doze off you and you’d leave him with a can of black iced coffee on his desk and small note saying that he might need this more than you.And then the villain attack. That happened to you and you were still shaken a bit whenever you’d set foot inside of that elevator. Now he asks you out- no- to ‘come and check out’ that new cat cafe that just opened. You’ve been meaning to check it our yourself, alone. You’d never expect him to ask you out, right? Did Nemuri Kayama force him to do so?She was the only person at U.A you could tell your high school level dilemma. Something as stupid as a fucking crush on the eraser man himself. It was 12 in the afternoon and you had a 2 o’clock class that needed some catching up to do. These thoughts can be entertained some other day, you figured.--
You like him a lot. Do you ever stop and think about what he thinks about you?
Your own voice whispers at you. You were currently inside your bathroom, staring at yourself. The mascara melts and creates a mess and drips down your cheeks. The corners around your eyes are darkened by the eyeliner smudged by your own doing.
I can tell you
And the air grows heavy as did your lungs. Something presses against your back, was it your anxiety again? It was constricting and you feel your heartbeat go fast.
He thinks you’re-
Remember the time when the neighborhood kids would isolate you and skip out on you since no one wanted to be friends with someone quirkless? The feeling came back. You turned your tap open and took a handful water to splash your face.It was 2am and you walked out of your bathroom. You fished out your phone that was inside your pants and dialed a number. Any number that popped up on the screen. You were drained and you needed to talk to someone.“Hello?”Silence. A soft male voice says your name. Deep and rich as it is, hoarse as well from days of teaching a class full of energy“Shouta?”“Yeah?”“I just wanted to hear your voice”From the other line of the phone, Shouta smiles and speaks of words of his support and hopefully, you’ll notice the unrequited love that comes along with it too.--A new day comes as the sun rises and a group of policemen come around and surround a body lying fresh just by the children’s park down the road of your apartment. People mutter and whisper, keeping the youngins away from the gruesome scene. The detectives hop out of their cars and began investigating. No signs of struggle or any signs of other DNA.
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
“A body?” you swallowed your food slowly. The energetic morning talks with Kayama turned into a rather grim one that. The oranges inside the green net are now forgotten just like freshly peeled oranges on the table. The windows had the curtains drawn together, not a soul from outside could peep.“Yeah! And it was found just 2 blocks away from your apartment complex” Kayama said with growing worry coating her words. You stare at her then look down. You didn’t hear anything that night as you fell asleep on the phone with Aizawa.“Really? I didn’t notice anything that night…”
You shouldn’t have called him
“Damn” Kayama curses and then says your name “Next time something fishy happens, you inform us. Who knows what that ruckus was all about” she reaches beside her, a manila folder tucked between the cushions of the light blue sofa.“I forgot” she hands it to you “You’re Class 1-A’s sub for this day. Aizawa’s out and was called for an investigation”You nod and take the folder, laying it flat on your lap“What’s the investigation about?” you gingerly pick up the smallest slice of the orange on the table and pop it into your mouth. Kayama follows suite.“You know the thing that happened to Pro-Hero Flamingo?”You nod again.“Something about a villain fucking with your body and thoughts. No leads yet but Flamingo is still able to cooperate with the police” Kayama sinks back into the couch and props her feet on the table. You push the fruit aside and she closes her eyes.“Poor guy, though. He hasn’t fought any major villains last I knew”One blue eye popped open and looked at the clock. The rated R hero groans and stretches her neck.“Time for work” she gets up first and pats your back “I’ll see you at lunch”She leaves and you’re alone with your thoughts.--The investigation was going well so far. The police officers and the detective went out to grab a meal in the hospital’s cafeteria area. Leaving only Aizawa and Flamingo alone in the sterilized room. “You’re awfully twitchy today, Eraserhead” the pro-hero, Flamingo says while he lays reclined onto the hospital bed. His arms and legs bound in medical tape while he wore a neck bracket.Aizawa pinches the bridge of his nose and groans. He sat just beside the injured man.“The investigation is just stressing”
And these fucking thoughts too
“No morning coffee yet, I presume?” he says with a teasing tone, he shifts his position to better face the other man. “No” he sighs out in defeat. The mood of the room switches the moment silence filled the air. The ceiling fan whirred and the air grew heavy.“When my mother died” Flamingo utters “The thoughts started. You know?” he gaze moves to above then he closes his eyes. Aizawa watches with intent.“It was weird. My own thoughts telling me that I was piece of shit ass hat towards my mom” a sad laugh and there was a choked sob coming from him. The other man sits on his chair quietly, his back slouched and both his hands intertwined together. He bounces his left leg. The injured man bites his bottom lip, his eyes becoming visibly glossy when the light bounces off of his eyes. “I was so consumed with emotions that I didn’t do anything about it, you know? And then I started having these dreams about her. You know those dreams you’d get when you were a kid? When your parents would leave you alone in god knows where without a word? Yeah those.”The flood gates couldn’t hold back his emotions and he made a poignant noise. “They got so vivid. It wasn’t even gory or anything that bloody. It was like-” the tears plainly ran down his cheeks. The droplets landing on the white sheets of his bed. “It was worse”He looks at Aizawa first, scanning his face for any signs of emotion. When he couldn’t figure out his face, he drops his head back onto the pillow.“Then-”He stops. His mouth was open and no sound seemed to come out.“That’s it?” Aizawa gets up from his seat. He leans over to Flamingo. He waves a hand in front of him and the injured man blinks then closes his mouth.“Hey” he places two hands on Flamingo’s shoulder and lightly shakes him. “Hey!” the grip on the shoulders tighten and he shakes him with more energy this time. Flamingo does not react. The heart monitor beeps loudly and Aizawa quickly presses the call nurse button just above his head.Soon a group of at least 3 nurses busted into the room. Aizawa was asked to go out and worry began to boil down his core. What happened? He stands in front of the door, eyebrows furrowed and he heard more footsteps coming. He turns to the right side of the hallway and the police officers and detective he was with rushed down the hall.On the other side, a bone chilling scream ripped into the air.--
What do you think he sees in you?
Keep walking if you stop now, you’ll break down in the middle of an empty hallway.
Do you think he actually likes you?
Move. You forced your legs to move faster and faster.
You’re pathetic.
You found yourself at the very end of the corridor. Just in front of the window. Your body moves on its own and pushes it open, letting the soft breeze of the mid afternoon air come in. Your arms dropped, letting the your supplies drop to the side. The markers and pens clattering and rolling away as the papers fly to another direction.
Quirkless. You aren’t a Golden Girl.
“D...Dad…? N-no...it can't be...”Tears began to prick from your eyes. The world begins to weigh on you, your breathing becomes labored and your heart beats in a staccato. The sun shines and hits your face, enticing you to come out. Which it did successfully. Your feet was on the window pane and your hands on the sides of the window to balance yourself.
Jump. It’s only 5 floors down, honey. Don’t you want to find out if you might have your grandmother’s flying quirk?
Deep breaths and you didn’t hear the shouts of another voice in the back. One foot forward and you closed your eyes hoping maybe your grandmother’s soul would take pity on you and grant you a last minute quirk inheritance.“I’m a Golden Girl”5 floors down and you still didn’t know.
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
Two bright baby blue eyes and a smile could kill someone in the process is what you’ve fallen for when you became a freshman college student. He was a year higher than you and studied under Chemical Engineering.
He had large hands. Something you complimented him on at first. Always cupping your cheeks when he’d lean in for a kiss, always holding your hands when you’d walk out together. And always so constricting. Like a snake to its prey during a hungry night.
You hated it. How manipulative and insensitive, conveyed through fabricated acts of love and declarations of such.
When he was around, you’d feel like you were drowning. Lungs filled with the sickeningly sweet scent of his fabric conditioner and his musk, you were sure you’d cough up blood anytime now. But you didn’t. You grew strong and broke it all off before it could continue on.
His vision turned red when you left him. The pink vase you loved so much was thrown at you, breaking and leaving a bruise in the process. Wilted flowers were on the floor when you left him inside of his own home. You graduated with passing colors and you never saw him again.
College years wasn’t something you’d like to reminisce about and those 3 years of a relationship were burned to ashes.
--
Aizawa had to wait for the investigation to be over. When it did, he ran out and hailed a cab as fast as he can. He tucks his goggles into his capture weapon.
She’s hurt.
His heart clenches and he bounces his leg to calm himself down
She’s hurt
. Oh, God.
He was nipping at his bottom lip. Peeling the skin off with his teeth not minding if it began to bled. The taxi driver watches him from the mirror, a sweat dripping from his wrinkled temple. The old man coughs.
“Sir, are you all right?” he asks with caution. Aizawa’s bloodshot eyes stare back at him with annoyance. It sent a shiver down his spine. The Pro-Hero’s worry simmered down for a bit, still it lingered. The horrible feeling down in gut does not settle down. It claws his organs and his heart is on the verge of jumping out of his chest. His brain throbs slightly in pain.
He does not respond and opted to glue his eyes on the road. He shifts in his seat and rests his head onto the window.
Please
.
His thoughts are filled with you. The voice that haunts his brain is gone for a moment and all becomes silent. Everything becomes unnerving and the ride to the hospital turns into a premonition of your death to him.
--
If God was indeed real, he’d be standing by your side now. The old maker in the sky, welcoming you to the gates of heaven with blaring golden trumpets as you entered his paradise of a kingdom. And if God did that, you’d assume you were already dead.
Miraculously, you survived.
The well-trimmed bushes of the school cushioned your fall but you still received a couple of injuries. You fractured your good arm, just like your left ankle. There was also an open, but small, wound on your forehead(it was already sewed up, don’t worry). Your back had faint scratches, all protected thanks to your black blazer.
All in all, you were still intact but in pain.
You can’t remember what time you woke up but you saw Kayama sitting beside you with the saddest look on her face with Aizawa, who was leaning against the window. The sunset bathed him in a an orange glow and his features were accuented.
You move in your hospital bed and there was an unpleasant sting on your ribs.
“Ow” you hissed
“You jumped off the 5th floor” Kayama states. Her tone of voice was the same as an angered mother.
“What’s happening?” she solemnly says your name and you look away “Are you all right? You can always tell me anything!”
A sob escapes her mouth and she wipes a tear from the corner of her eyes. She sniffles and holds your hand in hers. She gives a tender squeeze.
“I-” you open your mouth and Aizawa looks your way. His tired eyes bore into yours and his eyebrows are knitted.
What do you think he sees in you?
Then a sharp pang of pain shot into YOUR INSIDE. You winced and clutched your chest. Your female friend places a hand on your back and rubs it gently.
She says your name with worry. You heave and pound on your chest lightly. Your back was slumped and your hair covered the sides of your face as you took a deep breath. Kayama pauses for a while.
Pathetic. Quirkless. You really think he likes you the way you like him?
“I’m okay….” you bring your head up “I don’t know, Kayama. Everything just happened so fast. I mean, I’ve been getting a little out of myself now and then”
She shakes her head
“This doesn’t feel right”
Her look hardens at you. You smile at her.
“Please-”
“You jumped outside a fucking window, sweetie” She grits her teeth. Aizawa on the other hand was deep in thought. They both exchanged looks. Kayama stands up from her seat and leaves biting her bottom lip.
“Kayama?” you reach out for her but she was out the door as soon as you blink. You are now alone with him. An awkward air of silence filled the air inside the room, save the thrumming of heartbeats.
Make him leave
“Are you all right?”
Softly he speaks as his gaze were on you. He moves across the room to you just by your left side where the windows were. He hesitates to touch you, feeling as if you were made of glass. One wrong move and you’ll reduce into a hurting mess. Your eyelids drop down, but you do not feel physically tired.
“I’m so scared Shouta”
Make him fucking leave. He’s had enough on his fucking plate
“I’m so scared”
A sob breaks into the room and Aizawa almost dropped to his knees.
