Taehyung is a dog person.
Who could honestly say they don’t like dogs? They have those cute fluffy ears that either stand up straight to swivel around when they hear something or ones that fold backwards against their heads occasionally. They’re so soft and cuddly, too! And who could forget about their silly, goofy personalities? Playing fetch with one is the cutest thing in the world, only rivaled by them sleeping with their head on their human’s lap. And they were smart, too. There was a reason there are service dogs and not service cats--no cat could learn to retrieve a dropped item let alone learn how to sit! Man’s best friend is right.
So, of course, naturally, Taehyung wasn’t very fond of cats. Sure, they were adorable as hell with their silky fur and delicate meows that would pull at the heart strings, but, they were evil little fuckers, compared to dogs. What was the fun in having a pet that would either vehemently ignore you by constantly staying underneath the couch or hating you with such a strong passion that even stepping a few feet close to them would earn a swift scratch with their claws or even a bite with their knife like teeth? They couldn’t even learn tricks for fuck’s sake! All they did is eat, sleep, and forget that they have a litter box--they probably
do
remember that it’s there, but they’re
evil
, so of course they’d find pleasure in leaving little presents of poop all around the house.
Taehyung had never met a cat who would even want to let him stroke its head let alone be near him when it wasn’t attacking him. He wasn’t sure he never met a cat he even
liked
, whether it be a hybrid or a full cat. Until he met Yoongi.
Taehyung had never planned to ever own a hybrid. He had actual dogs before in his childhood and spent a fair deal of time doing dog sitting jobs for his neighbors, but he had never owned a hybrid--creatures that were an odd mix between animal and human created by scientists to research ways to improve the human species with animal characteristics that they didn’t naturally possess, such as the ability to see well in the dark, smell so well that some dogs could learn to detect drugs and bombs, and, of course, the physical strength, speed, and stamina that some species excelled in.
The research program never intended for their creations to become the new craze of society, but it’s not like they did much to stop it--in fact, once they realized how much money could be made, it was like they forgot their original goal to improve humans and instead focussing on perfecting the ideal hybrid pet. One that could give their humans the same companionship and joy as their full animal counterparts while also being able to think more rationally--like knowing that peeing all over the carpet was wrong--and able to do work around the house, as if to deserve the life they were living.
Of course, as they were part animal, society deemed them unworthy of any human rights, like being able to go to school or hold a job, but it wasn’t like they were treated fully like animals. In fact, some were even adopted as a replacement for children, and more rarely, a replacement for a wife or a husband, without the actual marriage.
The whole concept of hybrids left a bad taste in Taehyung’s mouth, especially when he saw them--the humans with ears, tails, and sometimes appendages like wings--with collars around their necks as they were pulled by their leash, or when he accidentally entered a sketchy area and came across a set of illegal brothels all filled with hybrids who couldn’t find real homes. Taehyung could never see himself treating another
human
like that. Half animal or not, they were still human to Taehyung.
Taehyung had never wanted a hybrid, had never wanted a cat, but fate said otherwise.
He met Yoongi for the first time when he was twenty two years old and fresh out of university. Taehyung had been lucky to secure a decent job at the same entertainment company that his friend Namjoon was working at. He loved to put his own mark on the songs that Namjoon created for his clients, whether it was designing their album cover art, or accompanying their vocals with his own in the background, faint, but still noticeable.
And, because of that job, he could afford a pretty nice apartment for such a young person, one with two bedrooms so he could invite family and friends over, and a balcony that looked out to the other tall buildings that made up Seoul, ones that he would walk past every night when he would be coming home from work. Sure, he could afford to get a rideshare back home, but he would much rather enjoy the neon lights that would contrast with the soft, sprinkling of starlight. It was perfectly calming after being cooped up in the office all day, until one night, when he heard sobs echoing out from an alleyway between his favorite Chinese takeout joint and a laundromat.
At first, he had the urge to just keep on walking and ignoring the noises, knowing that these alleyways were often plagued by homeless people and drug dealers at this late in the night. Taehyung thought that maybe it was just a poor dude experiencing a rough high, someone that he shouldn’t bother helping, until a car sped by next him, its headlights lighting up the alleyway momentarily, just enough for Taehyung to see the red sheen that was staining the cement underneath a man who was laid bonelessly against the wall. He could barely see the man, not even able to make out his face, but he knew that he couldn’t just pretend like he didn’t see the blood. Not even a criminal deserved to bleed out and die in an alleyway.
Taehyung had tentatively made his way over to the shaking form with one hand clutching his phone for dear life as it shone its flashlight over the area, revealing the man clad in what looked like a ratty old hoodie with its hood pulled up and sweatpants. His cries had ceased into quiet snivels as he heard Taehyung approach, shaking like a leaf the entire time.
“Hey, are you okay?” Taehyung asked, stopping a few feet away from the man, “Do you need me to call you an ambulance?”
“N-no, no hospital, ‘m fine,” the man replied in a raw, croaky voice, heavy eyelids barely opened to show his brown--or was is
yellow
--irises.
“Dude, you don’t seem fine,” Taehyung worried his bottom lip between his teeth, threatening to make it bleed like the man, “You seem like you’re really hurt by how much you’re bleeding.”
“Just leave me to die,” the man tried to speak loudly, commandingly, but he failed, as he squeaked out the words, “Better off that way any way.”
Better off that way.
Better off that way?
Was this dude fucking insane? He wanted to die here, alone, in an alleyway? Taehyung couldn’t even fathom what could bring someone to feel that way, but it’s not like he was going to let that happen. What kind of person would he be to walk away from this sort of situation?
“I can’t do that,” Taehyung sighed as he kneeled down to be closer to eye level with the man who could barely keep his own open, “Can I at least help you to somewhere safer?”
“Where?” the man’s voice was so quiet that Taehyung could barely hear it, as if he couldn’t fill his lungs with enough air to be able to talk.
Taehyung blinked. He wasn’t exactly expecting the man to ask that, as he didn’t really have any ideas. Fuck, where could he take him that wasn’t the hospital, since he seemed like he wanted to avoid that at all costs? “Uhhh,” he paused, trying to desperately wrack his brain for an idea, “My house? I guess? I got a first aid kit-”
“Okay,” the man breathed out before his eyelids fluttered closed and his body went more boneless, if that was even possible, his head lolling to the side and his clenched fists releasing. He would have looked relaxed, like he was just a homeless man sleeping peacefully in the alley, if it weren’t for the blood.
Well. Fuck. The dude passed out. How would he get him home now if he couldn’t walk--ah, he probably wouldn’t be able to walk anyway if he was awake, so Taehyung guessed it didn’t really make a difference. He would have had to carry him anyway. Damn, he shouldn’t have passed off all of those invitations from Jeongguk to join him at the gym on the weekends, he thought as he let out a pained groan as he lifted up the surprisingly small and light--yet still heavy to him--man into his arms in a crude bridal style position.
Not to his surprise, though, the copious amount of blood that was soaked into the man’s clothing from god knows where began to leave stains on his own clothing as he slowly made his way back to his apartment. He got a few strange looks from the occasional passerby, probably looking like some sort of fucked up serial murderer who was talking his victim back to chop him up, but that didn’t matter. All that matter to Taehyung was trying his very best not to drop him onto the sidewalk and paying close attention to the seemingly slowing heartbeat in the man’s chest that he pressed against his own. God, if he
died
-
“Fuck, don’t think about it, don’t think about it,” Taehyung muttered to himself as he rushed into the elevator and jabbed his finger into the button for his floor as if hitting it hard enough would make it move faster. It felt like
hours
, but soon enough, the doors opened out to his floor and he absolutely hightailed it into his apartment to lay the man onto the carpet of his floor--god damn it, he would never get his security deposit back now.
“Okay…” he trailed off, eyes scanning the almost motionless body of the stranger, “What to do...I guess...find the injury and...patch it up?”
There was no clear area where the injury could be hiding, as every inch of the man’s clothing was saturated with blood, but it had to be
somewhere
, it couldn’t be like...his entire body, right? Well, that’s what he thought, at least, before he pulled off the man’s hoodie to reveal deep bites--
canine
bites, most likely, seeing as the biter had large canines--covering seemingly almost every inch of the man’s skin. And it wasn’t just the sheer amount of wounds that made Taehyung gasp in shock and sit up ramrod straight, pulling back from the man--it was the two fluffy, black cat ears that were sticking up through his matted hair. He was a hybrid. A fucking
cat
hybrid.
“What the fuck,” Taehyung breathed, his entire body tensed up still like a statue with his hands still hovering over the injured
cat hybrid,
“What the actual
fuck
.”
-
Surprisingly, after Taehyung got over his shocked stupor, he somehow managed to clean the wounds and bandage them with the entire roll of gauze that had always been untouched in his first aid kit. It was not a pleasant affair in the slightest, having to stare into the deep punctures to see the dark clots of blood that were beginning to form to create a scab, but it was worth it, when after a few anxiety filled hours passed, the hybrid woke up.
“Where am I?” the hybrid groaned painfully as he tried to sit up from the carpet only to find that he was not exactly able to with the amount of tight gauze wrapped around his abdomen. His eyes--
yellow
, now that they were under the fluorescent lighting of Taehyung’s living room--flickered around the room for a few moments before landing on Taehyung, who was sitting on the couch beside him where he had tried to alleviate his worried mind by watching television, the sound of which was quiet and muffled, as if Taehyung was worried it would bother the hybrid in his ‘sleep’.
“My apartment,” Taehyung answered, shivering under the unblinking stare of the hybrid, “I found you bleeding out in the alley way, remember? I said I’d take you here since you didn’t seem to want to go to a hospital?”
The hybrid continued to stare at him for a few moments before he spoke up again, as if he were assessing the human. “Thank you,” he finally blinked, “I appreciate it, although you didn’t have to.”
“It’s no problem,” Taehyung waved his hand in the air dismissively, “It would have been fucked up of me if I didn’t help you out.”
Silence then filled the apartment, save for the low dialogue from the television, like a white noise. Taehyung looked down at his fingers that were subconsciously picking at his cuticles, a bad habit he had picked up in elementary school. He used to bite them instead, but, after making one bleed a few years back, he had forced himself to refrain. Belatedly, he wondered if this hybrid had claws like a cat, or normal fingernails--he didn’t think of to check.
“How long do you think it’ll be until I can leave?” the hybrid asked suddenly, surprising Taehyung a bit, making him jump slightly in his seat on the couch.
“Well, I’m not a doctor or anything,” Taehyung replied, inwardly shuddering at the memory of dressing his wounds. He’d be an
awful
doctor. “But, your...injuries looked pretty bad. You shouldn’t risk them becoming infected by going back there.”
“So,” the hybrid trailed off for a moment, “Are you offering to let me stay here, or…?”
Well, fuck. Taehyung didn’t think about that. He didn’t really think that far in advance, past making sure this cat wasn’t going to fucking die and have that hanging over his head for the rest of his life. But, now that he thought about it...where would the hybrid even go, if not back to the alley? Assuming he lived there--which seemed to be the case--he probably had no actual home to go back to. And, he didn’t like the hospital, so that was out of the question.
“I guess you can stay here,” Taehyung nodded hesitantly. He couldn’t help but let the corners of his lips perk up when he saw the small smile rising to the hybrid’s face.
It would only be a few weeks or so, so it shouldn’t be too bad. Besides, if he got to see that smile occasionally, Taehyung was sure he could bare the burden of taking care of him. And, besides, it wasn’t like he was taking care of an
actual cat
.
-
It didn’t turn out to be just a few weeks, though. In fact, as the weeks, and then months, passed by, they eventually turned into an entire year of Taehyung sharing his apartment with the hybrid--which he had learned was named Yoongi. In the beginning, it was a rocky start, as Yoongi couldn’t manage to do much of anything for himself because of his injuries, leaving Taehyung having to bathe him, cook for him, and so on, but eventually, Yoongi was able to do all of that and then some.
Taehyung had a few thoughts occasionally in the first two months about trying to find Yoongi an actual permanent place to live that wasn’t the alley way, but they were gone as fast as they appeared in his brain. It wasn’t so bad, like he had thought, to live with Yoongi. Sure, he had ears, a tail,
claws
that needed to be scratched against the wooden post that he had to buy for the hybrid if he didn’t want to have all of his wooden bookshelves covered in scratch marks, and was unable to work for money to pay half the rent, but besides that, it was pretty much as if Taehyung was living with a roommate. The decision was easy to give the hybrid the second bedroom--he could move his little office into his own room, anyway.
Although Yoongi couldn’t pay rent or buy his own groceries, he did have a decent ability to cook--much better than Taehyung could--and surprisingly had a knack for helping Taehyung out with his work, especially when it came to working on some idol’s upcoming album. As much as it made Taehyung’s stomach ache with nausea each time he thought about it, how it made him feel as if he was making Yoongi into a slave no matter how many times the hybrid insisted that it wasn’t like that, that everything was voluntary...it was true that, in some ways, Yoongi’s talents were easily earning his place in the household, if you could even call it that.
As the months went on, Taehyung found himself greatly enjoying Yoongi’s presence--and it seemed like Yoongi did, as well. It was always nice to be greeted by the hybrid every time he came home from somewhere with his fluffy head nuzzling all over his neck and his abdomen--why Yoongi did that was a mystery to him, though. Watching television at night used to be lonely, but with Yoongi there, it certainly wasn’t, because the hybrid loved to cuddle up close to the human with his legs swung over Taehyung’s lap, almost sitting on him completely, and purring lowly in his ear when Taehyung would reach a hand up to card through Yoongi’s hair, and sometimes rub against his ears. Honestly, Yoongi was absolutely nothing like all of the actual cats Taehyung had met, fucking luckily. He did have his days when he preferred to isolate himself, like any human, but on the normal day, he was always happiest when he could spend time with Taehyung.
Why Taehyung was so up in arms about never, ever wanting a cat nor a cat hybrid, was a mystery to him now. If there were actual cats like Yoongi, he began to think that he wouldn’t mind living with one. But, of course, he much preferred Yoongi himself. It was like having a roommate who was obsessed with cuddling, which Taehyung didn’t mind one little bit.
At some point near the end of the first year, Yoongi had finally revealed to Taehyung about his past one quiet, late night when neither of them were able to find sleep, when Yoongi had snuck out of his room to crawl into the human’s bed, claiming he was freezing. The teeth shaped scars that littered Yoongi’s body were from dogs, just as Taehyung expected, but also not, since they were dog
hybrids
. The very same dog hybrids that Yoongi’s owner--who had adopted him at the ripe age of five years old--had adopted for her three sons that had become bored of only having a kitty to play with. Yoongi was jealous when they came home and easily took all of the attention away from him. He was so used to constantly being pet by every member of the household and cuddling the mother all day, who worked from home, but once the dogs came into the picture, it was like Yoongi didn’t exist anymore. The dogs wished he didn’t actually exist, he soon realized, one day when they cornered him in the laundry room when their owners were out. They seemed to have been waiting a while to get Yoongi alone like that, as it seemed as if they had formulated the perfect plan to run the cat out of
their
home--by biting the shit out of him.
Yoongi had admitted all of this to Taehyung in a wet, tear filled tone that left the human’s heart breaking, so, of course, he agreed to the promise easily that he would never, ever, adopt another hybrid. He promised to love and cherish Yoongi only, and forever, his sweet little kitty.
-
Taehyung always kept his promises. So, when he invited his friend Jimin, and his new hybrid, a dog named Hoseok, over for lunch one day, there were no red flags, as he knew, he was not breaking his promise to Yoongi, as this hybrid would only be staying for a few hours, not being adopted by Taehyung.
But, apparently, Yoongi thought it was breaking the promise. Big time.
The human didn’t mean to anger him, he really didn’t. How was Taehyung supposed to know that his promise was supposed to extend to keep him from even
touching
another hybrid?
The day started off okay. When Jimin and Hoseok arrived, Yoongi didn't seem to mind the two of them that much. He was as curious as ever as he greeted their guests politely and even let Jimin coo over how cute he was, ruffling his coal hair playfully, not even giving him a steely side eye at the action, surprisingly, along with not scratching the shit out of Hoseok when he pulled the cat into a sudden, tight hug that seemed to knock all the air out from Yoongi’s lungs.
It all seemed to go downhill after the four of them had finished their lunch that Taehyung had prepared earlier in the day. The guests had been invited to stay over and watch some random movie on Netflix. Yoongi had taken his usual place on the couch right next to his human with almost his entire upper body laying on his legs. Also as usual, Taehyung’s hand immediately fell to stroke against the cat’s head, the action pretty much second nature now. Hoseok was sat on the other side of Taehyung, leaning his side into Jimin, but as the movie went on, the dog hybrid seemed to have grown tired of his owner’s attentions and instead vying for Taehyung’s.
The second Hoseok moved to press his body up against Taehyung’s, Yoongi’s soft purring had slid to a halt as he wrenched open his piercing yellow eyes to stare up at the intruder. He could feel growls building up in the back of his throat as the dog pawed at Taehyung’s hoodie to get his attention, and didn’t seem to care or mind one bit that Yoongi looked about ready to pounce and scratch his eyes out.
“Oh, hey there, Hoseokie,” Taehyung chuckled lightly as he turned his attention away from the movie,
and Yoongi
, to look at Hoseok--when did Taehyung come up with a
nickname
for the mutt? It was a stupid nickname, Yoongi mulled over in his head, Yoonie was better.
“Can I cuddle with you too?” Hoseok asked with big, wide, almost
sparkling
eyes. Yoongi narrowed his own into little slits, unblinking. What was this dog’s plan, with his stupid puppy dog eyes? Couldn’t he smell Yoongi all over Taehyung? All over
his
owner?
“Of course, sure!” Taehyung grinned toothily as he motioned with his free hand for Hoseok to go ahead. Yoongi grew stiff as a board, mouth agape at the surprising words, and at the dog who was giggling softly as he nuzzled his face into Taehyung’s neck and chest, making the human laugh as well. Yoongi was sure that he knew what Hoseok was doing now, as he rubbed his disgustingly musky smell all over Taehyung, attempting to drown out every little bit of Yoongi’s scent to replace with his own,
marking
his territory,
Yoongi’s
territory, as his own, stealing it right from under his nose, as if he weren’t even there, like Taehyung was something for him to take. The human didn’t seem to mind, though, even going as far to lift the hand that had stalled its petting of Yoongi’s hair to join his other hand in ruffling
Hoseok’s
hair and pinching his rosy cheeks, cooing under his breath about how cute and sweet the dog was being,
ignoring
Yoongi.
“What do you think you’re doing?” Yoongi snapped as he lifted himself up to be eye level with the intruder.
“What?” Hoseok asked, confusion laced in his seemingly innocent tone, cocking his head to the side, which made one of his ears flop into his face, “Am I doing something wrong?”
“Don’t you act all fake innocent to me,” Yoongi growled, clenching his fists harshly, letting his sharp claws dig into the skin of his palms, “You know full well what you’re doing.”
Stealing my fucking owner is what you’re doing.
“Yoongi, don’t be rude to our guest,” Taehyung chided, staring at his cat in disappointment, “He just wants to be pet too. What’s wrong with that?”
What’s wrong with that.
What’s wrong with that?
God,
everything
was wrong with that! How could Taehyung not fucking see it? Fuck, Yoongi was trying so,
so
hard all fucking day to quell the annoyance that was bubbling in his stomach as the intruding dog spread his scent over the entire living room and kitchen. He had to grit his teeth all day to keep himself from exploding into a fit of ugly rage at Hoseok. Stealing his home territory was bad enough of a crime, but stealing his owner? That deserved the fucking death penalty. Even the homeless, street hybrids knew better than to even step one foot into another’s territory. It was just fucking common hybrid knowledge!
“I’m leaving,” Yoongi declared suddenly, rushing out of his owner’s lap and to his room without a single glance back at the three of them. He made sure to let them know just how
pissed
he was by slamming the door as hard as he could, smirking triumphantly when he heard it echo throughout the otherwise silent apartment. But, the smirk didn’t last long, as the feelings that had been simmering deep in his insides boiled over in the form of fat tears cascading down the hybrid’s face, He threw himself down face first into the comforter covering his matress, sobbing into the soft fabric, probably the only thing in the apartment that didn’t reek of Hoseok. At least he had this.
-
“Yoongi?”
A voice called out, reaching into the depths of Yoongi’s sleep to pull the hybrid out of his dreams and back to reality, the reality of dark room lit up slightly from the half opened door that let the light from the hallway leak in. Yoongi hissed as he forced himself to sit up in his bed so that he could address his owner, who was standing nervously just on the other side of the door.
“Ah, sorry, I didn’t mean to wake you,” Taehyung apologized sheepishly, avoiding the hybrid’s bright yellow gaze, “I didn’t know you were asleep.”
“‘S fine,” Yoongi’s voice was rough and slurred, as his body was still clutched by sleep.
“Is it okay if I come in? Hoseok and Jimin left a few hours ago,” Taehyung asked tentatively, as if afraid of being rejected, opening the door slightly more. The action allowed for the heavy, thick scent flow more into the room--
Hoseok’s
scent, that was still clinging to Taehyung’s body like a skunk’s spray would.
Yoongi narrowed his eyes into little slits as he stared up at his owner. “No, it’s not okay.”
Taehyung blanched, silence filling the room. “O-oh, okay, sorry, I’ll leave you be-”
“Don’t
leave
,” Yoongi interrupted his owner’s stuttering with a frantic cry, startling the human with the sudden change of his tone, but the hybrid quickly corrected himself back to rumbling, “Just...can you take a shower? Or something? Please?”
Another pause. “Do...I smell bad, or something?” Taehyung asked, clearly confused.
How, though?
How
could he be fucking
confused?
Taehyung
must
be aware by now, at least, that he belonged to Yoongi and Yoongi only. “Yes, you do,” Yoongi confirmed with a growl, “I don’t like it.”
The cat hybrid’s black tail swayed behind him as he stood up from the bed to take slow, calculated steps towards his human, almost as if he were getting ready to pounce. “Y-yoongi?” Taehyung said meekly as he watched the hybrid come closer, his yellow eyes not once even blinking, trained on Taehyung’s form. He couldn’t help but gulp at the absolutely
feral
look in the cat’s eyes. “Are you okay?”
“I’ll be okay when you stop smelling like that nasty
mutt
,” Yoongi sneered lowly as he let his tail curl around
his
human’s wrist loosely, feeling the goosebumps raise up on his skin.
“Nasty...are you talking about Hoseok?” Taehyung’s eyes were wide in realization,
finally
, maybe he was understanding now.
“
Yes
,” Yoongi hissed, “You’re supposed to smell like
me
, Taehyung, not like
him
. You’re not his owner, you’re
my
owner! And he was fucking scent marking you!”
“I...smell like Hoseok?” Taehyung asked slowly, the gears turning in his brain as they struggled to comprehend his hybrid’s words, before his eyes grew impossibly wider, almost comically. “Wait, is that why you’re always touching me? Have you been...scent marking me all of this time?”
Yoongi sighed heavily before suddenly reaching out to grab Taehyung’s arm and pulled him into his room, trembling slightly and yelping in surprise, before he was then pushed against the wall almost harshly. Even though Taehyung was much, much bigger than Yoongi, the human felt positively
caged
and
small
as the hybrid loomed over him, his arms on both sides of his body, hands hot, almost burning his skin under his shirt. Yoongi stared deeply into the human’s eyes for a moment, as if searching into his entire soul, but as quickly as this all happened, it stopped, being replaced by Yoongi all but shoving his face into Taehyung’s neck.
“Wha-” Taehyung gasped as he felt the cat’s warmed up face nuzzle harshly into the naked, soft expanse of his neck and collarbones. Sure, Yoongi had done the same thing hundreds of times, but this time was
different
, feeling, maybe, out of desperation. Taehyung couldn’t help but jolt when he felt the new addition of the cat’s sharp teeth nibbling against his neck along with his contrastingly soft lips creating suction ever so often, punctuating the kittenish bites.
Usually, Yoongi would be purring under his breath softly, almost like a hum, but today, all Taehyung could hear were the rumbles of growls resonating deep within Yoongi’s chest, like thunder clouds signalling oncoming lightning. The sound only grew louder and more prominent as the hybrid gradually made his way up Taehyung’s neck, mouthing underneath his jaw and ears.
“Y-yoongi, I think that’s enough-”
“It’s not enough,” Yoongi snarled, yellow irises darting up to hold eye contact as he kept his mouth close to the now raw skin of his human’s neck, “You still smell like him. Need to smell like me, need to smell like
mine
.”
Taehyung couldn’t help the shiver that ran down his back at the deep, possessive tone. “I a-am yours, Yoongi,” he struggled to hold back a shameful moan when the cat sucked on his bobbing adam's apple like it was the fruit itself, but once the words were spoken, the hybrid halted.
“Then why’d you let him mark you, hmm, if you knew you’re mine?” Yoongi pulled back from his ministrations to be eye level with the shaking human, eyes cold and calculating.
“I didn’t k-know he was marking me,” Taehyung replied, “He was just cuddling with me, I thought.”
“Do you know why he was marking you?” Yoongi asked, his human answering with a frantic shake of his head, “He was challenging me for you. He could smell my claim but the mutt wouldn’t
fucking
respect it. Thinks he can steal you away from me. Thinks that I’m some sort of weak house cat that will roll over and let myself be replaced by some
dog
who thinks he’s better than me. And you were
letting him
, Taehyung, you were gonna let him take you away from me!”
“That’s not-”
“Don’t lie to me!” Yoongi interrupted with a outburst yell, pressing his claws painfully into Taehyung subconsciously, making him wince, “Don’t you fucking lie to me, Taehyung. I
know
you’d rather have some dog than me. I know it! You never really wanted me. You were just being
nice
until I’d finally leave, huh? So you could replace me with some dog? One that’ll wag its stupid fucking tail and do tricks for you?”
Taehyung went to reach out with a shaky hand to Yoongi as the cat began to have tears welling up, but it was quickly slapped away. “You never wanted me, did you?” Yoongi repeated as he began to choke up, a single tear escaping to trickel down his cheek, “I was wrong, w-wasn’t I? Like I always am? I-I was
stupid
to believe you actually
liked
me like I do for you.”
“Yoongi,” Taehyung breathed shakily as he watched his hybrid all but break in front of him, crumpling into himself like a balled up piece of paper, no longer radiating his usual aura of confidence. “Hey, Yoongi, look at me,” Taehyung instructed softly, but the cat only shook his head feverently as he began to let out little sobs that had his human’s gut wrenching and heart breaking. He sighed as he reached out to encase Yoongi in his arms, the hybrid no longer finding the resolve nor energy in himself to push the larger man off of him anymore, letting himself be cradled like a baby.
“I’m sorry that I made you feel that way,” Taehyung whispered into Yoongi’s soft black hair, his breath coming out in warm puffs, “I...never knew you were scent marking me all of this time. I’m so sorry for being such a bad owner that I don’t even understand basic hybrid things.”
“I sh-shouldn’t have expected you to have known,” Yoongi hiccuped, “S-since I’m your f-first.”
“That’s no excuse for me to not have known,” Taehyung shook his head, “I want to be good for you, Yoongi. You deserve the world, you know? You certainly deserve better than me-”
“
Please
don’t say that!” Yoongi’s head snapped up so he could look up at his human, his eyes wide and frantic, “Don’t leave me!”
Taehyung felt his own warm tears well up in his eyes at the sheer panic swimming in those yellow orbs. The poor hybrid was so used to people abandoning him--Taehyung had thought he was doing a good job in trying to make the cat feel secure, but clearly, he was failing, the one thing he
never
wanted to do. “Relax, please, I’m not going to leave you,” Taehyung rushed out, “I promised you, didn’t I?”
“Not all people keep their promises,” Yoongi mumbled.
“But
I
do,” Taehyung urged, hands moving up to hold Yoongi’s face gently, “I’m never,
ever
, going to abandon you. Just because I’ve never really been a cat person before doesn’t mean I’m not a
Yoongi person
.”
It was true, Taehyung still couldn’t call himself a cat person...but Yoongi was not
just
a cat. Taehyung could never reduce him to being an animal, a pet, no, he was much,
much
more than that.
“I’m not like your past owners,” Taehyung continued, a small, fond smile rising to his face as he stared down at Yoongi’s now stupefied expression, “Hell, I don’t want to be your owner--don’t look at me like that, I’m not saying I’m leaving you! I’m saying--fuck it.”
And with that, Taehyung leaned down and pulled Yoongi’s face closer to his own, gently, so that the human could press their lips together. Just like the rest of him, Yoongi’s soft, pillow like lips were much warmer than Taehyung’s own, but they stayed motionless, like a statue, causing Taehyung to pull back with furrowed eyebrows.
“Fuck--I read this wrong didn’t I-”
“
No
,” Yoongi whined petulantly his voice high pitched, “No, Tae...wanna kiss you too, was just surprised--do you…l-like me, Tae? Like...
really
like me?”
Taehyung’s face bloomed into a relieved grin. “Yeah, Yoonie...I do,” he breathed, “I really, really do, have loved you for
months
--thought it was bad of me though, I didn’t think you’d want to be like that with me.”
Yoongi all but melted at the fond use of his favorite nickname, becoming putty in his human’s arms. “‘S not bad,” he mumbled as he nuzzled his face into Taehyung’s chest, hiding the heat that was rising to his cheeks and the tips of his ears, “Love you too, Tae. ‘S why I mark you so much, want everyone to know you’re mine.”
The human chuckled, making the chest pressed up against Yoongi rumble and vibrate. “I thought you were just a
really
touchy person,” he admitted, “Can’t lie...I really love it. I don’t mind the idea of being yours, not at all. I wouldn’t want to belong to anyone else.”
“Good,” Yoongi’s voice was rough as it mixed with his newfound purrs, “‘Cuz you don’t have any other choice.”
“You’re so
cute
,” Taehyung cooed, reaching down to pinch one of Yoongi’s flushed cheeks, making him stick his bottom lip out into a pout.
“Can we…” Yoongi trailed off, eyes darting all over the room, “Kiss again? Please?”
“Of course, when you ask so nicely,” Taehyung chuckled, taking in the sweet sight of Yoongi’s rosy skin and shimmering irises before bending back down to interlock their lips once more. Unlike the first time, where Taehyung had caught the hybrid off guard, Yoongi was moving his lips along with the human, pushing together so tight that it was hard to breathe. It was so warm, and then delightfully
wet
, when the sweet little cat let his slicked lips part to let his mouth be explored by Taehyung’s prodding tongue--making sure not to cut it on Yoongi’s sharp little canines. Yoongi couldn’t help but whimper into the kiss, letting himself be taken by Taehyung in every sense, doing exactly like a good kitty should do--submit.
“You’re so pretty, Yoonie,” Taehyung said huskily as he pulled back for a moment to give them time to catch their breaths, his eyes trained on the now swollen, red lips, slick with their combined saliva, “The prettiest boy I’ve ever seen.”
And if Yoongi didn’t feel breathless and boneless before,
now
he definitely did. “Tae,” he mewled, reaching out to grab his hoodie into little fists, “Wanna...wanna…”
“Tell me what you want,” Taehyung prodded gently.
“Wanna
feel you
,” Yoongi whined, drawn out and high pitched, his fists pulling at Taehyung’s hoodie weakly.
“Oh, kitten,” Taehyung breathed, watching as the hybrid shivered at the use of the new nickname, seemingly
adoring
it, “Of course you can. I’m yours, aren’t I? You can touch what’s yours.”
Yoongi grinned toothily, showing off his sparkling white, sharp canines, before sliding his warm fingers under the hem of both Taehyung’s shirt and hoodie and shucking both garmets off of his body, leaving his chest bare and perfectly accessible for Yoongi to dive right into rub his face and neck up and down the expanse of his now naked skin, his purr roaring in his chest as he did so, finding immense pleasure in marking up more than just Taehyung’s face and neck.
“What a good kitty,” Taehyung cooed, reaching down to thread his fingers in Yoongi’s fluffy hair as the cat continued on his mission. He couldn’t keep himself from rubbing his fingers against the precious, soft fur of the hybrid’s ears, making them twitch, “I’m gonna smell like you, aren’t I? So everyone knows?”
“Mhm,” Yoongi hummed, unable to form coherent sentences in his brain, too focussed on letting himself fall into the pleasant haze that scenting brought into his brain. Just like he did to Taehyung’s neck that was now blanketed in blossoms of pink and red, Yoongi began to leave little bites all over his human’s body, pressing his scent further into his skin, imbedding it there, hopefully for forever.
“You’re doing so good, marking me so well,” Taehyung’s fingers trailed down to play with the hem of Yoongi’s shirt, “Will you let me touch you, too?”
Yoongi could only nod in affirmation, much too engrossed in suckinf a dark mark onto Taehyung’s collarbone. He whined petulantly when his human made him detach himself so that he could slide his shirt over his head, but calmed down immediately when he was allowed to resume, and when he felt Taehyung’s long, thick fingers begin to explore and dance along his soft skin, seemingly mapping out his body, making little goosebumps raise and a deep shiver to wrack down his spine. When the human brushed his cool fingertips across Yoongi’s little, pink, raised nipples--he was a goner. He let out a loud whimper as his legs gave up on him, feeling as if they were made out of pure jelly, forcing him to fall into Taehyung’s chest fully.
“Woah there, kitten, careful,” Taehyung laughed, “How about we go lay down instead, hmm?”
The human didn’t wait for an answer before he hiked up Yoongi’s legs to wrap around his waist and strode quickly over to the bed, carefully laying the hybrid out on his back with himself looming over top of him.
“M-mark me t-too,” Yoongi whispered breathlessly, making little grabby hands up at Taehyung. He was quick to oblige, leaning down to press his slicked lips onto the hybrid, but the innocence didn’t last long, soon turning into having his tongue lave up and down, leaving slicked tracks over his skin along with the occasional hickey, all of it combined making the poor, overwhelmed cat mewl and cry out, his eyes screwed shut and head thrown back.
“Can I touch you down here, too?” Taehyung asked as his fingers danced and fluttered along the hem of Yoongi’s sweatpants.
“P-please,” Yoongi nodded feverently, opening his eyes to watch his human hook his fingers on the waistband before pulling both his pants and boxers down his legs and over his feet, leaving his soft, tinged pink body entirely bare to his eyes.
“You’re even pretty here, kitten,” Taehyung said as he moved his face farther down to puff hot breaths against Yoongi’s hard, tiny little cocklet, it’s head absolutely leaking and drooling out pre cum onto his soft stomach.
“Don’t l-look!” Yoongi cried out, embarrassed at the attention.
“Why not?” Taehyung asked, “Don’t be embarrassed, kitty.”
“‘S
small
,” he whined quietly.
“There’s nothing wrong with your cock being small, I promise you,” Taehyung urged, forcing Yoongi to stop squirming under him by placing one of his large hands on his hips, “Besides, you aren’t going to fuck me with it, are you? You’d rather me fuck you instead, hmm?”
Taehyung punctuated his words with trailing his free hand down to swirl a finger tip around the hybrid’s slick gushing, fluttering hole, making Yoongi’s entire body arch up and for a moan to be punched out of him.
“Please!” Yoongi begged, feeling the tears well up in his eyes once more.
“Not today though, kitten,” Taehyung smiled fondly at the petulant, upset whine, “We’ll have plenty of time for that another time.”
“B-but
why?
” Yoongi complained, desperately trying to move his hips in a way that would make the finger slide in.
“I wanna make our first time special,” Taehyung mumbled into the soft skin of Yoongi’s inner thigh, “You deserve to be wined and dined, not fucked after being upset with each other.”
In Yoongi’s rational mind, that made complete sense--he didn’t want their first time to be like this, either, rushed and desperate, feeling as if they needed to consummate their love for it to be valid. He wanted it to be special, maybe on a bed with new, silky sheets and sweet smelling candles around the room. But the animalistic, horny side of him wanted the exact opposite--he was warring with the two sides of himself, something that Taehyung could clearly see.
“I won’t leave you like this, though,” Taehyung continued, “You wanna cum, don’t you, kitten? Wanna cum around my fingers--or, maybe, even my tongue?”
And, of course, Yoongi’s lust hazed brain and rational brain could both get on board with that. “Y-yes!” he cried out, “Wanna c-cum, please!”
“Okay, kitten,” Taehyung chuckled huskily before wasting no time in starting. He didn’t hesitate to sink the teasing finger ever so slowly, so carefully, into the vice like, tight,
warm and wet
, hole, stroking along the pure velvet that were the hybrid’s walls.
“Feels s-so
good
,” Yoongi mewled, his eyes shut tightly once more, “More, Tae, more!”
“Be patient,” Taehyung chided as his finger bottomed out, “I don’t wanna hurt you.”
“Not gonna hurt me,” Yoongi complained as the finger slid out halfway, but moaned when it pushed back in, “‘M not f-fragile.”
“I know you aren’t fragile, kitten,” Yoongi’s body seized as a second, thick finger was pressed inside of his now puffy rim, causing a glob of sticky slick to squelch outwards to slide down his cheeks and onto the bed--they would have to wash those sheets afterwards for sure. “But I still wanna be careful with you, just in case. Not gonna be reckless.”
The two fingers moved in out of his hole in tandem, torturously slow, each push inwards just grazing the sensitive area of his prostate deep within his walls, sending shockwaves of burning magma up his veins each and every time, but it wasn’t
enough
, Yoongi needed
more
, right
now
.
Taehyung seemed to understand, seemed to feel it in the way that Yoongi’s rim opened up so nicely for his two fingers and how his sweet little noises were nothing in the way of expressing pain, only pure, unadulterated
pleasure
, so he indulged Yoongi with adding a third finger.
“So
full
,” Yoongi praised, his body arching up beautifully and swivelling his hips as the three fingers plunged into him deeply enough to fully press against his prostate.
“Yeah?” Taehyung said, his breath coming out in harsh pants now from the effort, and from how
breathless
he felt as he trained his irises on watching his hybrid’s little cocklet weeping pre cum, enough to leak down to his perineum to mix with his thick slick, so fucking
messy
, but there was nothing wrong with that. No, it was
perfect
, so perfect, that Taehyung couldn’t stop himself from delving down to lave his tongue against the agitated, puffy,
wet
rim. “Feels good, huh, kitten?”
Yoongi could only respond with an almost ear piercing keen that ripped it’s way from his chest, feeling the wet appendage poke and prod at his hole and circle the stretched circle, teasing at the possibility of it fitting in alongside the three fingers. Yoongi knew he could take it, knew he was made to take something much larger--like a
knot
or a
fist
--but he didn’t have much time to make his desires known to Taehyung before his entire body seized up suddenly, his eye sight burning white with the pure, shocking, red hot pleasure that was rolling in waves from his little cocklet that was spurting out thin streams of white, warm cum that landed in droplets all across his abdomen. It was seemingly never ending, and maybe that was on purpose, maybe that was Taehyung’s goal, as he jabbed his fingers in harshly to his prostate and held them there for the entire time that his hole squeezed them impossibly tight, wanting to prolong the hybrid’s orgasm as long as possible.
But, of course, it had to end eventually--when Yoongi’s body slumped down onto the mattress, completely boneless, the cotton sheets feeling more like soft clouds, similar to the fog that was gathering inside of his brain, so much of it that he could barely hear Taehyung’s concerned cooing and the cooling touch of what must be a towel, wiping off his entire body before he collapsed along side the hybrid.
“Kitten...Yoongi...are you okay? Are you with me?” Taehyung murmured into his ear, deep and honey like.
“Mhm,” Yoongi hummed, turning his head so that it could press into Taehyung’s neck, taking a deep breath and shuddering when he could smell his own scent permeated deeply into his human’s skin.
“You did so good,” Taehyung sighed, stroking his hand on the nape of Yoongi’s neck, “I love you so much.”
“Love you too,” Yoongi mumbled breathlessly as he nuzzled closer.
Taehyung had always been a dog person. Never a cat person. But, now, there was no question that that didn’t matter anymore. He was a Yoongi person, through and through.
