Izuku watched, tears flows like a river, as the funeral pyre of his mother burned fiercely. The five year old omega prince cannot imagine how just one day, running to her chambers as he always did every morning, to cheerily ramble whatever he found the night before or that day, to see her hanging on one of the bedpost. Cannot take it longer, he bolted out, even his beloved half brother’s call of his name didn’t stop him.He kept running through the woods where a large oak tree rested. It was his mother and his favourite spot and there, he bawls out. He kept on crying, his wails only to be heard by the surrounding trees and other living creatures. He cannot believe it, his mother was dead. He will never see her smile or hear her laughter again. Never to feel her warm hugs or her hand ever again. The one who gave him life was already gone.“M...om.”When he heard a crunch, he looks up and sees a boy of his age, a young alpha with blonde hair with sharp and piercing red eyes. He squeaked out of surprise and the other boy spoke, “Why are you crying?” he was covered with his long cape, adorned with fur. Izuku didn’t answer and continued with his crying. The boy was baffled to see such sight, “W-wait… don’t cry,” not knowing what to do, he approach the young prince with his hands hovering above him. The young alpha tries to remember how his dad would make him feel happy by few pats on his head. Finally, he gently touched the young omega’s head.Izuku was surprised to feel the gentle touch of the other boy, his hands were warmer than usual but it feels comfortable. He was reminded how his mother would pat his head. “Mom…” Izuku finally talks, “Dead…” the other boy’s eyes widen, “’m sorry.”“Why are you sorry?” Izuku asked, “Because I asked” the other boy answered.“They said… she killed herself…” the young prince adds then another tears flow out, “Why would she do that? Did she hate me?” the blonde tried to look for an answer but just asked instead, “Why would you think so?” Izuku clutched his knees tighter, pulling them further to himself, “Because she left me…”“Does she hate you the only reason? Did she say she hated you? Slapped you? Never gave you food? Never gave you hugs?” The boy asked them at once which Izuku answered with a soft shake of his head, “She always said I love you. She tucked me in to sleep every night. She gives me hugs. She holds my hand and cooked my favourite food,” the young alpha grins, “Then she doesn’t hate you silly!”“But why would she kill herself?”“If it’s not you then there’s another… they said a person would only kill themselves if they got cornered in a war or because they are really, really sad…” he supplies, “Maybe your mother was sad about something…” Izuku tries to remember when he saw her mother sad, “She said… she’s not happy at the palace…” the boy’s brow lifts up, palace?“Then maybe it’s the palace!”“Now that I think about it, mother was never happy when she’s with dad.” Izuku sighs, “But am I not enough? For mom not to do that?” the boy shrugs, “My mom says, people are difficult to understand… they do things not good for them even they have everything,” the boy huffs, “But stop crying already! Just remember all the happy days with your mother!” Izuku smiled.“What’s your name?” Izuku asked and the boy grins, reaching his ear and crosses his arms, “I’m Katsuki, the prince of Bakugou with a dragonblood.”“You are a dragonblood? Why are you here?” Izuku was surprised to see one, “Hey, not fair, tell me your name.”“Izuku… Midoriya, I’m also a prince of Togata… son of Inko Midoriya,” When Katsuki heard of his mother’s name, it sounded familiar but he can’t tell why, “Why are you not a Togata? Your parents are married right?” Katsuki asks. Izuku shrugs, “I dunno… they won’t tell me why… but there’s a woman who’s always by dad’s side. They say she’s also my mother…” he answers, “Then your mother’s…!” Katsuki didn’t finish, he knows the word. A bit hard to pronounce but he knows it wasn’t a good thing. If he told what his mother’s role really was, he was going to be sad even more.“What about mom?” Katsuki shook his head, “Nevermind… you asked what I’m doing here right?” he changed the topic, “I just want to see a bit further than the kingdom… I went with my dragon but I let him roam around,” Izuku’s eyes shined, “You have a dragon? But isn’t travelling away on your kingdom dangerous?”“I made sure it’s safe! I’m not stupid,” Katsuki said in smugness. Izuku claps his hands with awe, “Amazing! Mom wouldn’t let me further into the forest because it’s dangerous,” he said, “Then I’ll take you further in! While flying, I saw a field of flowers!” Izuku wanted to say yes, “But…”“If you’re scared I’m here! Don’t be such a wuss. You want your mom to see you be brave right? And I told its fine! Believe me,” Katsuki grabs his hands and took him there. As they finally arrived, Izuku’s eyes shone, his face lit up and his smile widens, “Amazing!” he comments. The field was full of white and yellow daisies and some flowers he doesn’t know about. The two kids played on the field until the sun finally sets in. They heard a loud flap and they both see a red dragon with a size of a horse.“I need to go home,” says Katsuki and Izuku feels dejected. The blonde saw this and scratches his head, “Let’s meet up again,” Izuku lit up, “When?”“Something easiest to remember,” Katsuki suggested, “Fifteen!” Izuku answered, “Why fifteen?” the green haired boy just beamed, “Because on July fifteen is my birthday so it’s my favourite number!” he answers, “Okay then… every month on fifteen… if I don’t show up, that just means I’m too busy so wait for another month,” he says.“Okay… see you again, Kacchan!” and Izuku runs off. Because of the surprise, Katsuki wasn’t able to retort when Izuku called him by a nickname. The dragon landed and Katsuki hops on, finally departing to go back home.
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
It’s been five years now, Izuku and Katsuki are now ten.“So you have decided to keep it long…” Katsuki pouts internally, touching the ends of his hair near his nape and Izuku gave a light chuckle, “I well…” then he sighs, “It’s for Dad…”It was always about the omega’s selfish dad. After a year later since they met, he noticed some changes within Izuku. He noticed he moves more feminine, softer spoken and well, the growth of his hair. Katsuki knows that some male omegas will choose to be more feminine, boyish or just combination of both, although during the time they have been together, Izuku prefers to be more on the boyish side.During those times, Izuku would suddenly seek comfort and hugs the young alpha (which he reciprocates awkwardly) or when he caught him off guard, he looks ghostly. He tried making Izuku open up to him but he would just smile and play dumb. Then months ago, Katsuki thought he likes the omega in his shorter hair so he offered Izuku to cut it for him. The next month they met again, Izuku looks like he never saw the sun. He asked him what was wrong, which of course, he didn’t answer.“Are you happy?” Katsuki asked and Izuku cocked his head in confusion, “I do?”“No… I mean most of the time,” the blonde clarifies.“I’m happy with you,” the green haired prince answered and Katsuki blushes.“You should just tell me what’s wrong… b-because…” he trails of then blushes furiously, “you’re special to me…” then his voice softens. Izuku heard of course then his cheeks reddens a bit, “You are special to me too,” the young alpha flips his head opposite to Izuku’s to avoid seeing his face, “It’s just that…” the green haired prince continues.“Actually, I’m not really happy back at the palace,” he added, “I feel more like myself… with you,” Katsuki looks back at him, listening at him clearly.“Dad… some says… is madly in love with Mom…”-=-=-=-Ever since his mother’s death, the King was never the same. There was a long period of time where he locks himself in Inko’s room. When one servant would pass by, they could hear him wailing. By the time he decided he had enough of mourning, he came out of the room, dark circles around his eyes, hair unkempt and eyes cold.He also started to pamper and give more attention to Izuku, saying how he loves his eyes, how similar he looks like his mother. He even declared he was his favourite child. Surprisingly, Mirio was not jealous at all, already used to his father’s treatment around him but he was more concerned of his little brother’s welfare. It started after izuku turned six where the King requested to grow his hair and start gifting him clothes for women, instead of boots, high heeled sandals and pins that are for girls and even dolls. He started to dress Izuku like a girl. Mirio and the Queen retaliates it by giving him clothes the young omega would prefer to have, anything that boys do. They also addressed it to the King but he stubbornly refuses. Some would say that he preferably wants a daughter but then, the King would sometimes ask for Izuku to sleep in his chambers beside him.Years later, Izuku’s hair was already long and the King requested again to iron it straight. When bedtime came, when his Dad hugged him closer to his body, he accidentally whispered his mother’s name.Lesson for women has started too, tutors would find it odd but the pay was good and decided to please the King instead, ignoring how uncomfortable the young omega is. He finds his surrounding dull and found solace in his precious friend.Years later until the current year, Katsuki expresses the distaste of Izuku’s long hair, how he looks more like a mountain man and not Izuku at all and offers to cut his hair hair for him. He hesitated but he agreed anyway, missing how light his head would feel more. That, of course, angered the King and was punished for it and locked him in his room for a week and ordered the others not to feed him. Mirio loves his brother and would sneak in and give him bread and sometimes fruit. He was finally let out and looks tired and less lively than before.-=-=-=-Izuku didn’t tell Katsuki about the punishment, he didn’t want him to worry more than he already is.“He’s making you your mom’s replacement,” he pointed out, his scowl deepening, “I’m pretty much aware,” Izuku scratched the back of his neck, “But I can’t do anything about it…”“Well I can!” the blonde said proudly, “I’m a prince, you’re a prince and Mom has been searching for a potential mate for me and I don’t like any of them except you…” he looks at him, his blush returning into an angry shade of red again, “So do you accept to become my mate?” he holds his hand out and Izuku shyly accepts his hand, “Is it really okay?”“Well, I don’t want anyone else.” He replies, “Once I got back home, I’ll tell Mom I have decided you’ll be my mate then make an official visit to your kingdom and ask for your hand,” he finished. Izuku giggled and smiled widely, “I’m so glad Kacchan… I don’t think I can’t live a life without you,” he says and Katsuki avoided eye contact against the omega, “Sure, whatever… nerd…” the young alpha said, receiving a heartfelt laughter from his future mate.
