Come on, come on, come on! You can't get caught, not when you've made it so far. Hurry up Taehyung, they're right behind you... Taehyung told himself, basically pushing his body to its limit in his mad dash to survive. Somehow, he had managed to escaped the clutches of the merciless scientists bent on using him to breed a race of super Wolves, and was now weaving in and out of alleyways and brightly coloured streets in his panicked flee. Sprinting through the concrete jungle, his paws make light thuds, the claws creating little clicking noises and barely noticeable footprints on the ground as he went.
Ears twitching back and forth, his icy blue eyes shone bright with fear at the sound of the damned "experts" blood hounds on his tail. He had to get away from them and soon, or else he'd be dead meat. An unfamiliar scent invaded his nose as he progressed though the thicket and underbrush. It was metallic and had an undertone of flesh. Maybe here he'd be able to free himself from these horrible people. Using this advanced and nearly impossible to repeat pattern, he zipped through countless branches and ran past endless trees until oddly shaped grey blocks appeared overtop the trees, looking like they were peeking at him over the abundance of leaves and twigs. Because of this, he'd been able to shake them off in his desperate break for freedom, losing them in the thick branches of the woods before bursting into the crowded streets of the bustling city. People stared and pointed at the mangy wolf, a shock to see such an animal in a crowded area. His multicoloured fur was matted with blood and, various cuts and bruises decorated his canine body. Right now he was sure that when he morphed back into either a hybrid or human, he'd be a grotesque disaster of cut and sallow skin, a bony frame, and colourful bruises. Eventually, he'd collapse from over exertion, or the hounds they'd sent to track him down would catch up. Praying silently to Artemis that someone would save him, he kept running for his life. Little good it did him to hope that someone would step forwards and help him when it was quite obvious this place was filled with cowardly Werewolves. Pathetic was what it was. His scent was clear and sharp in comparison to the dull and common raw meat odor that lingered in the air. Taking a moment to look around and find a place to hide, he spotted a dark alleyway that reeked of so many rancid things it was impossible to tell if anyone was lurking in the shadows of the metal bins. But this seemed to be his only option at the moment unless he wanted to come face to face with his captors once more. Less than five steps into the darker area, a stranger of a much larger build stumbled and tripped over him. Unfortunate to his torso and possibly the man's foot, but that was the least of his worries as the guy stared down at him. Not angrily, not with disgust. But concern. Full blown, shocked concern. Taehyung didn't appreciate being looked at like that, not one bit. Backing away with his teeth bared, Taehyung bluffed being a ferocious wolf and ultimately failed at doing so due to his ghastly appearance. He didn't want to fight, but this guy needed to get away from him before the mutts came around and caught him, therefore deeming his attempt of escape futile. Seemingly unfazed by the Omega's poor choice of challenging him, the male knelt down and reached out to stroke Taehyung's ear. Their touch was soft and gentle, causing him to relax. This was so weird. "Who hurt you, pup? Poor little boy..." The stranger mumbled, sounding genuinely upset and concerned for Taehyung.
Baying softly when a newly opened wound was brushed over with the stranger's fingers, the male stopped and got closer. He seemed to be checking out the markings and injuries on Taehyung. A few seconds later he sat back down and ran a hand through his hair before looking down at Taehyung once more. "Come with me. You're hurt and this could get worse if it isn't treated." He pointed out, and stuck his hand out near Taehyung's snout. "If you put your head in my hand, I'll take you home with me and get you patched up. If not then I'll wish you the best of luck out there. The world's a harsh place." The male's voice was soft, making him feel like he could be trusted... Maybe he could take a chance?
For a few moments, Taehyung was hesitant about answering. Go with a stranger he didn't know anything about just to get better, or continue running from his old captors until he was caught and taken back? Taken into normal circumstances, this would be extremely outrageous, by this was far from normal. Very far. Placing his head in the male's warm hand, Taehyung whimpered and sat down on the ground. Strange, less than five minutes ago he was just about ready to rip this guy's throat out, but now he was willing to go with him. Guess that's what happens when you're shown even the smallest bit of lindness after so much hayred.... The stranger smiled and picked Taehyung up like he was an overgrown rabbit, and he will admit it felt rather odd being carried as a full grown wolf, but he couldn't really complain much. And it seemed this guy had no trouble picking him up. "Hm, that's not good. Too light for your size. I'll fix that don't worry pup." He assured Taehyung, and began walking out of the alleyway with the Omega in his arms. Maybe things would start getting better for him... Well, if there's one thing he's sure of, the next few days are going to be interesting.
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
The fur under Jungkook's fingers was matted and slightly sticky with what he easily identified as blood. It was somewhat fresh but also stiff and almost dull smelling. It was odd considering the Omega was clearly alive and breathing just fine, and yet smelt as dead as a ten year old corpse. What had happened to the poor thing to put him in such a devastating state?
Or more importantly, who in their right mind would do this to one of the most sacred creatures of the Wolf hierarchy?
It was complete bullshit.
Noticing the Omega was starting to shiver (probably because Jungkook's temper was getting out of control), he sighed softly and gently pet the wolves head, a gesture he prayed would calm the boy down.
After a while it seemed to work, and thankfully they were coming close to the pack house. Various scents wafted from the place, and all of them were clearly a wolves distinct and distinguishable aroma. The Wolf in Jungkook's arms didn't seem to like this as he scrambled and scratched at his arms, ultimately freeing himself from the Alpha's grasp.
This alone surprised Jungkook, but what the Omega did next shocked him even more.
The smaller being dashed into a nearby bush, and unlike most people who would cower and whimper with so many unfamiliar scents invading their senses, the Omega was growling. Lithe muscle pulled taut, fangs bared and ready to strike, eyes shining a crimson red colour. Overall not very good signs.
With a soft sigh, Jungkook quickly shifted into his own wolfish form, a large dark brown beast with shining caramel eyes. He was intending to calm the Omega down before entering the pack house for the fear the smaller wolf might attack someone.
Much to his surprise, when Jungkook got close to the Omega, the wolf didn't cease its growling and just continued snarling as if Jungkook were a predator or something.
With a soft huff, the Alpha stopped and sat down a few meters away from the tensed Omega, holding his gaze without wavering under the deep crimson colour swirling in the other wolf's eyes.
He could tell this was going to take a while... "Hey, hey, hey. Calm down. It's just a sponge... It won't do anything to you, but the soap might sting a little." Jungkook assured, keeping a firm grip on the painfully thin wrist belonging to the odd Omega. This kept the other boy from flailing around and hurting himself, but it didn't keep him from sending an icy glare in Jungkook's direction.
With a somewhat exasperated sigh, Jungkook let the Omega's hand go and reached out to rub circles onto the exposed skin of the boy's neck just above the scent gland. It was a simple, harmless gesture that was only known among lycanthropes. All it meant was there was no danger near. The wolf being pet in this specific way could trust the one petting them. At least, that's what it's supposed to mean.
Let's just say that's not how the male took it.
Jungkook flinched when a pair of sharp teeth come way too close to his hand, withdrawing it almost immediately. Well that had been unexpected.
Looking back at the Omega, Jungkook frowned when he saw the boy curled up on himself a little way away, eyes a dark red colour and fangs out. The same as before. This was way harder than he'd anticipated.
Running his hand through his hair, Jungkook let out a small groan and stood up. "Okay, calm down. I swear I'm not going to hurt you. Please just... Let me help you," he paused, waiting to see if the wolf would answer him. Nothing. "I know you don't trust me, but let me do something to help you. If you need food I will happily give you some, if you want some medical help I'll give you the supplies, if you need a place to sleep then I'll section off a room for you. Please just let me help you in some way..." He trailed off, somehow still calm.
And when he'd least expected it, a hoarse deep voice broke the silence.
"I don't need help... All I want is to get as far away from those wretched monsters of human beings." They had a faint growl in their voice, as if the wolf was still there completely despite only being half at the moment.
Even though he was shocked at the fact the Omega had spoken, Jungkook continued questioning the male.
"From who?" Jungkook asked.
"Scientists."
"What kind of scientists?"
"The kind that experiment on Omegas like me. Break them, use them, torture them."
He ceased asking questions after hearing that, and sat there with a dumb look on his face. That all sounded horrible. And if these people were cruel enough to hurt an Omega in such a way that the being was cold and harsh themselves, then he didn't want to know what they've done.
After a bit of silence, Jungkook cleared his throat and knelt down beside the porcelain tub containing the Omega.
Omega... He'd have to learn the wolf's actual name instead of continuously calling him Omega.
Clearing his throat, he held out a hand and looked the other male in the eye. "I want you to trust me long enough to clean you up. I'm not like the people you we're with before. I promise." Jungkook claimed. "I want you to take my hand so I can pull you out for a little and fill the tub up. Okay? Will you at least let me do that?"
More silence, and much to his surprise, the Omega grabbed onto Jungkook's hand. It was shaking slightly, but he was holding on nonetheless.
Gently pulling him up, he picked the boy up under the knees and arms before placing him down on the counter. Making sure the smaller boy stayed there, Jungkook turned on the water and poured in a bit of bubble solution that quickly covered the water with a thick layer of bubbles.
Glancing over at the boy whom of which was watching with curious eyes, Jungkook stood back up and moved to stand beside the boy. This unfortunately earned him a flinch.
"Whoa, hey I'm going to do anything bad, I just need you to let me wash you up. You've got dried blood, mud, sap, and various plants sticking to you. It might get infected if it isn't treated." Jungkook informed, slowly reaching out to pick the Omega up again.
Unlike the scenario he'd seen in his head, the hybrid remained fairly still and silent during this, which hopefully meant that he was starting to trust Jungkook.
"Okay, I'm going to put you into the tub now. It might be a little shocking since the water's warm. And can you take off the clothes you're wearing once you're in? They're rags by this point and I might be able to find some that will fit better, okay?"
"Okay... Don't touch me after." The boy said sternly, and if it weren't for the dangerous edge in his voice Jungkook might've cooed at the insecurity hidden beneath the built up walls.
He nodded and very carefully carried the boy over to the bubble filled tub before letting him slip into the warm water. A small gasp of surprise was pulled from the male's lips, and resulted in the Omega clinging onto Jungkook rather tightly. Perhaps the water was too warm for the boy.
"Are you alright? Is it too warm?" He asked worriedly, his eyebrows furrowed as he waited for an answer.
He watched as the Omega nodded sheepishly, still holding onto Jungkook as if he were a lifeline of some sort. Cute.
"Too hot. I don't like it." The male said, and growled just to further express his hatred for the water.
When he heard this, his first thought was too drain the liquid a little and add some cold water, but then he thought about how he knew very little about this odd Omega he'd run into on the streets.
"Well, we can wait for the temperature to drop a little. Until then can you tell me a bit about yourself?"
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
Now as much as I'd live to spoil you guys with another chapter of this story, I'm still working on chapter three. Anyway to pass the time and fill in a little space, here's a few things I haven't put in yet the you will want to know beforehand.1. I originally wanted to do Yoonminseok as a ship, but all three are Betas so that wouldn't go very well since Betas depending on their mate can be very possessive, maybe not as much a an Alpha, but pretty close. So that's where Alec (one of the ocs) came in.2. Being a male Omega isn't the rarest thing on earth. But being a pureblood Werewolf is. Mix those together and well... you've got quite the power there. Female pureblood Omegas are kind of a rarity, but pureblood male Omegas are believed to be a myth in this universe. They have this great sense of smell, hearing and sight. Their wolf is almost as powerful as an Alpha male's. Not to forget that if they're mated, their off-spring (if born as an Alpha) are know as Diana breeds. Betas are called Apollo's, and Omega's are called Lycaon's.3. Originally, the packs were going to be separate, but things happened and I decided it would be best if Jungkook and Namjoon were co-leaders instead. Or rather there weren't any leaders at all, just a tightly running community.5. I have a feeling that most of you guys are wondering why Jungkook isn't a "fuckboy/playboy" or the scary guy everyone wants. I'm rebelling against the usual things you'd find in a fanfic like this. I don't like repeating the same thing, plus I may have drawn some of my inspiration from "Our Omega Leader-nim"...
Anyway, I also did this because in reality Jungkook is not like that, he's a dorky, playful boy with a big heart. That was my little blurp. Now I have some questions.1. Should I post some chapters that aren't in either Tae or Kookie's POV? Or are y'al good?lSo, without further ado, I will be adding members from:-day6

Okay, so I know I'm taking a long time to update this fanfic but I'm getting really close to finishing the chapter. I don't know how many of you will read this, but thank you to those who are reading this thing and giving me support. It really means a lot to me since I don't really get recognized for my writing. Anyways, I was wondering if you guys would enjoy some sort of schedule or behind the scenes thing that will make things a little more even? I don't do well with deadlines but posting random stuff related to this is doable. Again, a huge thanks to all you readers!
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
At the moment Taehyung didn't really trust this Alpha male. A strong instinct within him had told him to keep running away from the people who'd broken him beyond repair for a majority of his childhood and the life he's lived. And yet here he was, sitting in a bathtub while be washed by an Alpha male he didn't know. Fate sure has a lot of interesting ideas for people's lives, huh?
Tense and closed off at the feeling of warm water being poured over his head and soap being used to wash the grime and blood from his skin. For some reason, a plastic cartoony duck was floating in the water near him. He watched as the Alpha nudged the rubber duck closer to the Omega as if telling him to play with it.
Taehyung watched as the unnamed Alpha sat beside the tub, clearly thinking about something Taehyung probably wouldn't understand. He just about lashed out again when he heard a soft sigh come from the other male. Arching an eyebrow, the Omega followed the movements as the other picked up a sponge and squirted soap on it. He approached Taehyung with clear caution, slowly placing the sponge on his back.
"Hold still, this will help clean you up." The male said quietly and slowly started scrubbing harder to get the mess of the boy's skin off. It was abrasive, but not so much so that it hurt, but he felt the friction against his bare flesh.
For about five or so minutes this went on. No words were exchanged between them until all the suds were washed off along with all the unknown substances that had been stuck to his skin. Taehyung thought that everything was over, but just his luck the moment he assumed it was done he felt a pair of hands work something into his messed up hair. It was slightly sticky feeling and smelt of something bitter and almost toxic in a way.
Wrinkling his nose, the Omega ducked in hopes of getting away from the oddly scented liquid, only to be pulled back towards the Alpha and unfortunately have his hair lathered in the thick substance.
Grimacing at the feeling, Taehyung sat there with his arms crossed over his chest and looking rather displeased with the current situation.
He assumed the Alpha had seen his expression based off the small sigh and sudden intrusion of his voice.
"I know you probably aren't the most comfortable right now, but we're almost done with this. Let me wash your hair and then it's over, okay? Can you endure a little shampoo?"
Even though the question seemed literal Taehyung could see how rhetorical it really was. He just had to sit it out and wait for it to be over, easy as that.
Yeah, maybe not.
About three or so long minutes later, all the suds had been rinsed out of his hair and of his body. Now, Taehyung watched as the young Alpha pulled out a fluffy towel and flinched when he wrapped it around the Omega's body, gently rubbing the damp skin and hair in a circular motion in order to remove the moisture on it.
"Just stay still for now. It may feel a little odd at first but it's not too bad... I won't touch you anywhere below the waist, okay? Sound good?"
Hesitant at first, Taehyung huffed and nodded at last. "Yeah, at least you've got some respect for personal space and boundaries." The Omega mumbled, his ears popping out as his eyes swirled with a dark blue colour. Just the one vague mention of his past with being touched brought him back to the days of being imprisoned.
Hunching his shoulders at both the thought and the feeling of the fabric rubbing against his torso, Taehyung sucked in a breath that he released once it was removed. It was so soft and fluffy it actually provided him with some comfort in this strange situation. As much as he dreaded showing weakness, a small whimper escaped his closed lips. The towel stopped moving.
The moment he realized what he'd done, Taehyung flushed and looked over his shoulder at the Alpha, fearing he'd find some sort of lust in his eyes. Much to his surprise, all he saw was a concern and a little bit of embarrassment.
"Sorry. Did I brush over a wound? You sounded like you'd been hurt." The Alpha asked, tilting his head to the left.
"I'm fine," he said bluntly, turning his back again. "Can I get out now? It's getting cold." He stated.
"Oh, right, sorry. I'll get out of here so you can dry off. I have a pair of extra clothes in that cupboard. Well, smaller pairs at least. You seem to be a lot smaller than me so they might fit?" The Alpha suggested, sounding a little nervous about it.
All Taehyung did was nod and grip the sides of the tub, shooting the other a look that spoke louder than legitimate words, telling him to get out and let him do what he needed.
Apparently, telepathy was not one of the powers the Alpha sub-gender possessed since the other just stood there like an idiot, his face conveying clear confusion.
"Why are you staring at me like tha- oh, right. Sorry, I'll go now." The male said quickly and sped out of the small space before Taehyung could say anything.
Shaking his head, Taehyung got to his feet with about as much grace as a newborn giraffe. Using the counter for support, he clutched the towel to his chest and searched for the mentioned extra clothes the Alpha had talked about.
Out of his peripheral vision, he spotted something pale and sickly looking standing not too far from him. Turning quickly, Taehyung was shocked to see a famished looking being staring back at him with broken looking eyes.
Their cheeks were hollow, and their collarbones were so prominent it looked like it was about to cut through the white skin. It was obvious they hadn't seen much sun for a while, or food for that matter. It was pitiful almost. But Taehyung felt powerless seeing this. It was like a reflection of how he felt...
Then he noticed something. A small bit of their cheek on the right side was missing, just like Taehyung's scar from being struck in the face as a child. This person had damp hair that looked like it would be some sort of unique colour when dry. Silver maybe. Just like Taehyung...
Raising his hand to touch one of the marks embedded in his skin, he was shocked to see the figure move as well and jumped back.
This weird reflecting thing was really freaking him out. So much so that he nearly called out for the Alpha to come back. Almost. But the other wolf didn't seem at all bothered by this when he'd passed it earlier so that probably meant it was safe? It was still rather freaky to him and he chose to continue the search for the extra clothes.
A simple task like this was distracting enough for him to momentarily forget about the questionable object. For now at least.
After a few minutes of rummaging around the drawers and cabinets, he found them and tugged on the incredibly large things before walking back out. He felt incredibly small within the mass of soft fabric. By looks of it, he'd fit an extra small instead of something of this size. Unfortunate but true as well.
Walking down the hall where the Alpha's scent lingered, he stopped at the sound of voices.
"- he's frighteningly small, even for an Omega. But he can't be much older than I. He comes up to about my shoulder and that's it. Or shorter. I can only guess based on his wolf's size. I don't know what to do, I'm afraid I'll hurt him... And I think he's been hurt enough..." It was the Alpha, and Taehyung presumed that he was talking about Taehyung right now.
"Hey, Jungkook, it's okay. I'm just as clueless as you are. Nothing like this has ever happened to our pack as far as I know. Just keep in mind I've got your back... Okay?" Said another person, a male by the sound of their voice.
Keeping himself hidden, Taehyung continued to watch, or rather listen to the conversation.
"Thanks, Hyung. I appreciate the words of comfort." Something was off about the Alpha's tone. He seemed to be using some form of irony.
A dry chuckle was heard from the other, followed by a small thud. "Yeah, yeah. I'm going to head back home. Hyungwon's probably getting agitated. Tell me if anything happens, got it?"
"Alright. Be safe, Hoseok. Things have been stirring in the area lately, and it can't be anything good."
"I'll take your word for it. G'night Jungkook. And I'd check on him if I were you." They said and by Taehyung's guess had left after the eerie creak and thwack of something solid.
Sensing the slight panic of the Alpha male, Taehyung hurriedly scooted back and somehow made it into the bathroom before he was seen, making it appear like he was just coming out when the other peeked from down the hall.
"Well, you look a lot better, you just seem like you need something to eat first. You look like you haven't had a proper meal in such a long time… Also, I still need to treat those wounds on you, but we’ll worry about the later. Seems like you can walk, but I'd feel better if I carried you. I don't want you to collapse and end up getting hurt… Is… Is that alright with you?" The young Alpha was so polite, considerate, and soft-spoken it caught Taehyung off guard. All the Alphas he'd ever met had been total assholes and only ever cared if they were putting their dick inside of you. Otherwise, they were heartless, cold, merciless, and lacked any empathy.
So, for about a moment or two, Taehyung stood there with a confused expression on his face before snapping out of the stupor he'd gotten stuck in.
"Pardon? Oh uh, yeah it's okay. Just don't touch anything below the hip or above the knee and you're good…" He answered, a little startled when the other scooped him up without a warning beforehand.
Most likely startled by the yelp that came from Taehyung, the Alpha froze up for a moment and then completely burst into panicked chatter.
"Oh shoot, I'm so sorry. I should have told you I was about to pick you up first. I didn't mean to do that to you. Do you want me to put you down? I can do that if you want me too." He rambled, making Taehyung shake his head and gently place his hand over the Alpha's mouth.
"It's fine. You haven't hurt me in any way, shape or form." Taehyung assured, and felt the other let out a sigh of relief, and let his hand drop.
The Alpha nodded and started to walk back the way he had come, and made Taehyung comfortable by watching where he put his hands. This Alpha was unlike any other Taehyung had met in his life.
A few minutes later, Taehyung found himself sitting on a wooden chair with a plush cushion placed on the seat, carefully watching as the Alpha cooked something over on an appliance that reminded him of a hot plate.
The long period of silence was starting to get unbearable, but luckily enough for Taehyung, the other seemed to have finished whatever he was doing and turned with a tray in his hands that carried two bowls of something hot, and what appeared to be a bit of bread.
Sitting down a few seats away from Taehyung, the Alpha took in a breath and started to speak.
"So, what's your name? And where are you from? I want to be able to get you back home someday." The male said to him, and Taehyung noted the slight hesitation.
"I was known as V to most people at the laboratory... A nickname they gave to me because I was number five of the Omega's they'd taken into captivity. But my real name's Taehyung..." He paused, looking for some way to answer the rest of the question. It took him a moment to remember where he'd resided from before he'd been taken into the lab, but he was able to recall what area of South Korea. "Uh, I came from the area around Daegu." He answered, his tail hanging limply as he tried to remember what life had been like when he was with his family and friends.
It'd been what? Almost a decade since he's last seen or heard of them? What had happened and where were they now? He didn't give out his last name, that had sadly been erased from his memory completely after all the names he's been given... None of them good.
The silence surrounding them was interrupted by yet another question. "Do you know where your family is or might be? I could bring you to them so you can spend the rest of your life with them," he asked softly. "Of course you can stay with me for the time being, but I think you'd prefer to see your own blood, huh?" The other male had tilted his head as if he were unsure how to continue this conversation or how to not seem as awkward at the moment.
Family. Well, this was going to be hard to explain aloud to someone without breaking down part way through, but Taehyung had to try. It was only a matter of time before this topic would come up. Best to get it out of the water now. Taking in a short breath, Taehyung bit his lip and shook his head dejectedly at the question. God was it a horrid story, one that he didn't really want to tell, and even now the mere thought of the incident made him want to curl up and cry.
"No... Sadly. They're kind of... Gone now." He explained vaguely, not wanting to go into too much detail of what had happened and what he'd seen during the little time between being with his family and imprisonment.
Taking in another deep breath, he sighed and looked down. "As much as I'd like to see them again, I can't unless I'm willing to die somehow... And I really don't want to... I haven't seen everything the world has to offer besides cruelty, abuse, and just mercilessness..."
The Alpha looked taken back at the response. Clearly, this young wolf hadn't expected something like that to have happened to the Omega before him. It would probably take a lot of people by surprise.
"I'm so sorry for asking. I just thought you'd want to see them again if they weren't–" He stopped mid-sentence as if collecting his thoughts. A deep sigh left his lips as he appeared to pull himself together and formulate a proper sentence. "I'm sorry if that's a sensitive topic for you. I didn't mean to hurt you," the Alpha said finally.
With a small, sad sigh, Taehyung nodded and leaned forwards just to readjust his position on the chair and distract himself for a moment. Several images appeared behind his eyes as his memory dug up all the pain, every little piece resurfacing. Grimacing at the gore and tortured screams that seemed to ring in his ears, he shook his head and looked back at the Alpha with an uneasy smile on his face as he contemplated what to say next.
"It's fine. I'm going to have to remember in order to put it behind me anyways so what better time than the present?" He let out a weak chuckle before exhaling and letting his head drop.
"I can show you some of the things in the world. This place can be cruel but there are some nice things about it." The male suggested with a hopeful look adorning his face.
Seeing the other's expression, Taehyung arched an eyebrow and nodded. "Well, without something good, there can't be anything bad in the world. Just like how there can't be darkness without light." He said, making a comparison so dumb sounding it made him cringe.
By the looks of it, Taehyung's weird metaphor had made sense to the Alpha male. The hum of approval and small nod gave him further proof.
"Hey, don't worry, you'll get through this. The fact that you're so calm and okay with sharing your story tells me you've already gotten over part of the trauma. That's incredible… I wish I could be as strong as you.” Okay, that just about made Taehyung cry. For once in his life, he was being shown this kindness and admiration that he’s never been given. It was overwhelming.
Perhaps he would be able to accept a little help.
Nodding with a few tears brimming in his eyes, Taehyung took in a breath and looked up at the Alpha.
“Thanks, that helped… Now that I think about it, I don’t know your name yet. Care to share?” Taehyung asked, gently rubbing his eyes to get rid of the small tears.
“Oh, right. I’m Jungkook. One of the many residents of the pack. Hopefully, you’ll feel welcome here in a bit… Wait holy crap it’s late. Uh, you should really settle in and get some rest. We have quite a few extra rooms here.” Jungkook said, appearing to have forgotten about the bowls resting on the table.
Cocking an eyebrow, Taehyung subtly gestured to the dishes.
Confusion written all over the other’s face, Jungkook made this funny little face that vaguely resembled a rabbit.
“Oh, right. Sorry, you must be hungry. Just eat, I’ve got to go do something really quickly before I do anything else. I’ll be back in a bit. If you have trouble with the chopsticks there are some forks.” The other said and was off.
Something told Taehyung that this next bit of his life was bound to be interesting.Nodding, he watched as the alpha walked off before he attempted to eat, finding it a bit difficult to use the chopsticks no matter what he tried. Guess it was the fork... That was much easier to use, but it didn't help his poor appetite in any way. There was still quite a bit left, but he was afraid to eat more....Once he figured he might as well turn in for the night, Taehyung slid off the chair and wandered over to a spot on the floor, out of sight but made it easy to be found. Now all he had to do was sleep... Yeah, that didn't seem too bad...Before he knew it he was drifting off.

So, after a bit of thinking I had the dumbest realization, a stupid little joke for later, an a question. The reason why Taehyung is shorter is due to malnutrition, not the fact he's an Omega. Jungkook: -Holding Taehyung-Taehyung: Do I weigh anything to you?Jungkook: Nah, it's like holding a couple of grapes. Annnnnd. Do you guys want any kpop idol to have some big appearance and part in here? Cause I've got nothing.
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
The Omega was broken. That was the only thing that really made sense to Jungkook. It made sense though, being imprisoned for such a long time must have caused a lot of problems. He was surprised that the other seemed so stable though... It was admirable. Now, he wasn't one to believe in the stereotypes set for the ranks, that was all just a bunch of arbitrary bullshit. He himself was a fair bit softer in personality. Sure, he still felt comfortable being dominant, but he wasn't going to use his status to his advantage. That was something he'd promised long ago. So far he'd kept his own word, but with more threats coming in, more tension building and pressure set on everyone, it was getting harder to remain standing on neutral ground. It was even worse with mating season coming closer, only a few weeks away.Huffing to himself, he trotted down the packed dirt path that led to the main village of the territory. He wasn't the leader. No head Alpha or heir of the pack. An Alpha part of the pack, that's all. He was a hunter, a lover, a fighter, a friend. Really, everyone here was more or less equal, the only one's seen as below their kind being the scoundrels that posed a threat to them and their land.Spotting the others gathered around the water well that sat in the dead center of their home, he ran faster, his paws beating against the ground in quick succession. Nightly reports were going to be shared by those who took up the role of guarding the territory. Jungkook was one of the few, alongside Woojin, Taekwoon, Kyungsoo, Hye-jin, Jihyo and Kihyun. It was a decent amount of guardians, for a pack of over thirty wolves at least.Slowing down when he neared the small group, Jungkook quickly transfigured back into a human, hunching over to try and regain his breath after having to shift again in less than ten minutes.Everyone waited patiently for him, a few sparing him a quick smile or a small greeting. Nodding in acknowledgement, he leaned against a tree, putting his hands in his sweater pockets, and let out a sigh, listening to Taekwoon speak, give his own report, followed by the others until they reached Jungkook. He'd spaced out a little, knowing it would all be the same thing as the night before, and the night before that... "Jungkook, you there?" He heard Woojin ask, and jumped when he was elbowed in the side. Wide eyed and confused, he looked around and shook his head."Sorry... A little distracted... I found something tonight..." He said, taking his hands out of his pockets. In his peripheral vision he saw Jihyo tilt her head in question. "What did you find?" She ventured."An Omega. He's hurt, I left him in the pack house. He needs medical assistance..." Jungkooks explained, crossing his arms over his chest as he stared at the ground, waiting for their reaction to his evaluation. After a heavy silence, Hye-jin finally spoke up, her face showing no expression. "An Omega? Where'd you find him? If he's hurt you should take him to Junmyeon." She suggested. He hesitated an nodded. "Yeah... That's probably a good idea. I shouldn't right now though. Both Junmyeon and the Omega are tired. I'll take him in the morning." "Fair enough. We should all head in for the night if we plan on doing another sweep early in the morning. Dismissed." Taekwoon finalized, giving everyone a short nod before turning to leave. Soon enough everyone else had followed suit and left Jungkook alone by the well.Well, probably best he got some rest, check up on the Omega too.He just hoped that he'd make it out alright. Those wounds were near fatal...
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
"Worthless... Only good for mating... Defenceless... Weak... Dumb... Cockslut... Only a bitch for breeding." Their words rang in Taehyung's ears, his hands fisting at his hair as he rocked back, his tail curling up between his legs in terror. Fat tears rolled down his cheeks as each painful memory came back and hit him full force. Sobs wracked his weak physique the more he recollects his days of imprisonment. All the aggression tainted his own personality, causing him to lash out when he felt threatened, making him cautious and unable to let his guard fall.He hated them. Hated himself. His rank. Bloodline. Life. Body. His differences... Everything they pointed out and belittled sent him into a state of self-hatred and deprecation. Drowning. That's how he felt. As if he were being engulfed by a darker version of himself, he pulled down to the deepest depths of his self-loathing and greatest fears.Guilt, panic, sorrow, fear, anxiety. All of those feelings bubbled up and surrounded him in a great black torrent. If he had one wish, it would be to erase all of his memories up until his release. He wanted to forget all the torment and fear he went through during the dreadful years he spent locked away. The air was thick with bitter scented pheromones, the room was so heavy with the scent that even he could smell the sharp aroma coming off of him. That only made things worse, the smell reminding him of the days he was shoved inside the cage of an Alpha in the attempt of breeding a super race. Or perhaps all the testing done on him to make sure he could provide the proper genes, and carry efficiently. Perhaps even the torturous days where he was yelled at, tormented, degraded, and beaten until he either gave in or passed out...His ears didn't even register the sound of a door opening and footsteps coming closer to where he was seated, hunched over."Whoa there. What happened?" He heard someone ask. His hands were carefully pried off his head, and covered with another pair of warm, soft ones.Looking up, he could vaguely make out the image of another person crouching in front of him through the tears that stained his cheeks. "Good God, what happened to you?" The voice was a lot clearer now, and Taehyung started to relax upon recognizing them. It was the Alpha who'd brought him here. He knows he told him his name, but at this point, he's forgotten it.Before he could respond, he felt one of the hands of the other male settle on his cheek and wipe away his tears. It did little to clear up his vision, but it did soothe him to some extent. For the next few minutes, he sat there with the Alpha, grateful for his sweeter demeanour and gentler nature. At least, as he's seen so far.Looking up at him after a good half hour or so, Taehyung felt another wave of guilt crash over him. The Alpha's eyes were a deep, dark sapphire colour, shining with worry."You alright? It looked like you were having a panic attack or something..." The male trailed off and seemed to get an idea. "Okay, I'm going to turn into a wolf, and I'm going to need you to pet me. Alright?"Taehyung was confused as he nodded hesitantly. "Umm... Okay..."His reluctant response must have given the Alpha an insight as to how estranged it sounded."Oh! Right, uh I was told by someone a long time ago that petting a domestic animal like a dog, cat, etc, can help relieve stress. Now, I'm no lapdog but possibly it'll provide the same effect?" He said, sounding a tad uncertain near the end, to which Taehyung shrugged in response."Well, you never know until you try... I guess." He murmurs, sniffling after his hushed sentence.By Taehyung's guess that had been enough approval for the Alpha seeing as the next thing he knew, the same Wolf he had encountered earlier in the night was sitting before him, the dark fur almost blending in with the shadows created by the dim light. The wolf offered his ears to Taehyung, the fuzzy appendages twitching in an inviting manner. Taehyung took in a shaky breath and reached out towards the canine, recoiling when his fingers came in contact with the soft fluff resting atop the wolf's ears.Swallowing thickly, Taehyung resumed the intentional action and rubbed his thumb against the base of the twitchy ear, marvelling in how it dipped slightly as his thumb neared the top.The Alpha was watching him, Taehyung could feel his gaze on him as he got more comfortable touching the smooth pelt. His hands came down and began stroking and petting the scruff of the Alpha. Taehyung smiled softly and reached back up to cup the other's face, breathing out in relief when he saw the eyes of the other were the neutral brown colour once again. What he wasn't expecting was the Alpha to lean forwards and butt his head against Taehyung's shoulder, causing him to laugh quietly and initiate the soft petting once again. It wasn't long before he heard small thuds coming from behind the Alpha. Thankfully it was only his tail thumping against the ground, making Taehyung grin. The male had been right about this kind of thing being therapeutic, especially since both parties were clearly enjoying it.Maybe there was a chance he could trust this guy. Or he was falling into yet another trap. Right now it only mattered that he was feeling a little better and that for now, he wasn't in any immediate danger. This stuck with him right up until he was drifting off, the earliest signs of the morning making their appearance through the tinted window. His face rested on top of the other's side, the skin of his cheek tickled by the tufts of soft fur. A yawn was stolen from his throat as he became comfortable, his eyes heavy with drowsiness. For the time being, he would allow himself to be somewhat vulnerable and sleep. Just for now...

----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
I've honestly been feeling kind of down, so I ended up making this little scene that might be in here later on? I haven't decided yet ;-;. But it's basically like preheat, nesting, subspace. It's soft. Curled up within the messy circle of clothes and blankets, Taehyung whimpered and pressed the heating pad against his lower stomach again, praying he wasn't bleeding through the pad. Ugh, he just wanted Jungkook here. He wanted to cuddle and kiss and giggle over his stupid jokes until the pain went away or he fell asleep. Anything was fine. He just wanted his Alpha there so he could feel safe and loved, the male still courting him before this blood-filled week ended and his actual heat started. But not yet. The larger boy was out somewhere scouting for any threats or danger of some sort. So he had to wait. Taehyung hated waiting though, and he couldn't stop the flow of negative thoughts that flashed through his head. "Doesn't want me... No one wants a broken Omega... He left to-to find a better Omega... Stronger... Smarter... Prettier... No need for TaeTae... Kookie come back... P'ease..." He murmured, crying softly and hiccuped, his lower lip quivering as his eyes watered. He felt pathetic. Unneeded and unwanted. Like a book with torn pages, or a toy with a missing piece. Sitting up, Taehyung's ears flattened against his head as he whined, rubbing his eyes. "Kookie, come back." He cried, eyes closing as fat tears ran down his red cheeks. As he took in shaking breaths, lungs feeling squeezed and tight. "Tae- whoa, baby what's wrong?" He heard someone say, and sniffled, looking around for a moment before he saw the Alpha kneeling in front of him. "K-kookie. Alpha don't leave me." Taehyung whimpered, making grabby hands towards the male, who picked him up and set him down on his lap. "Shhh... It's okay, little one. Just breathe. Come on, sweet pea. Talk to me when you're ready. Just float around in your head for a bit, but come back to me... So small, so cute... My precious little baby." Jungkook murmured to him, rubbing the soft little ears on top of Taehyung's head. The Omega sat there, trying to calm himself down as the Alpha caressed him, telling his sweet little nothings until he had deemed himself able enough to speak in an eligible manner. "Bad thoughts... Thought Ko-Kookie left me.." He mumbled after a while, rubbing his runny nose with the back of his hand. He looked up as Jungkook lifted his chin up, and shuddered as the Alpha kissed his nose, his tail fluffing up and wagging from the affection he was given. "Aww, poor thing. Don't worry, Tae. I'm not leaving you for anyone else. I'm committed to you and you alone." The Alpha said, soothing Taehyung. A couple cheesy jokes and forehead kisses later, Taehyung was laying down on the padded bottom of the nest, his tail thumping against the ground as Jungkook played with his hair, the male's other arm wrapped around the Omega's waist. "Such a good boy. You don't deserve such horrible thoughts, such a bad past." The Alpha said soothingly. "I'm a good boy?" Taehyung asked, looking up at Jungkook with a questioning gaze. Jungkook's face lit up with a smile and he laughed. "The best boy. Not only that but my best boy." He liked the sound of that.
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
Waking up the next morning in wolf form, Jungkook glanced at his side to see the smaller humanoid form of Taehyung laying with his head on the Alpha's side. The sight was rather endearing despite the fact he was only here because the Omega seemed to have had a panic attack of sorts the night before.Snuffing, he laid there and just watched the smaller boy sleep, hoping to catch the signs sooner if he was struck by a nightmare or had another panic attack. Things like that were probably terrifying if the experience could physically incapacitate someone. With a low groan, Jungkook shifted back into a human, and carefully extracted himself from under the Omega. Jeez, he was stupid, the smaller male had given him his name and yet he was too occupied with other thoughts to remember it.Oh well. He'll face the consequences later.Being very gentle, he picked up the Omega and carried him over to one of the empty rooms, using his nose to seek out a room that wasn't ridden with the heavy scents of another pair. It took a couple of minutes, as well as a few scares from the threat of the Omega waking up, but he found an empty space and set the smaller boy on the bed. With a small sigh, Jungkook looked down at the Omega and brushed the boy's hair away from his face. Poor thing... Been through so much...Jungkook retracted his hand and began walking towards the door, planning on finding Junmyeon so he could perform some sort of medical procedure on the pattern of scratches and wounds that bestrew parts of his skin. He may have only known this Omega for a few hours, but he already wanted to do whatever he could to help, determination driving him to do something. Anything.-------------------Following an abrupt conversation with the older male and a hasty trip back to the Packhouse, Jungkook found himself waiting outside the room, worried about all the noises he heard coming from inside. Just as he was about to come in and see what was going on, the Beta stepped out his brows knitted, sweat dripping down his forehead from stress. "He isn't allowing me to touch him. I can't treat him if he isn't willing to comply and sit still. There's a chance he'll only get worse if he doesn't stop." Junmyeon told him, a perplexed look on his face. Jungkook didn't like the sound of that. If Taehyung wasn't able to trust other people who wanted to help him, then he was afraid that the Omega wouldn't get any better...Determined to do something, Jungkook straightened up and looked the older square in the eyes. "Let me help then. I think I can get him to stay still for a little. Not long but maybe long enough to do a general check-up?" He suggested, aware of how uncertain he sounded.Junmyeon was giving him a dirty look of sorts, and sighed, figuring it may be better than nothing. "Come in, then. It's best we give it a shot rather than turn it down and struggle further." Was how the male responded, and gestured for Jungkook to follow him.Within the fifteen years, he was part of this pack, he had only ever been within the pristine white walls of the makeshift medical clinic three times. Nothing ever seemed to change. The same rustic candy machine from when he was eleven was still there, the tacky poster about brushing your teeth was pinned to the far wall, and the cliche set up was still there. Guess the doctors were more minimalistic with decor. "Are you sure that your idea will work?" Junmyeon asked, setting up some things on the pure white counter nestled in the far corner. Was he? Honestly, right now he had very little expectations that this would work. But it was better to at least attempt it."Just hold my hand, okay? And can I put my hand on your lower back? It's just for support, I promise. If I do anything that suggests otherwise feel free to twist my arm," Jungkook informed the Omega, his hand hovering over the one spot he planned on using as an anchor.Jungkook held the Omega still, his hands resting on the smaller males stick-like arms. So tiny, such a weak structure it was a miracle he could move without breaking any bones. It was a finicky thing, getting the Omega to cooperate, but it was managed at last. Each time the Doctor came around with a needle or some sort of medical equipment, Jungkook would rub little circles into his arm to comfort him while Junmyeon explained what it would do, how it would help, things like that. So far it was working."And that was the last one. Good job, Taehyung, you made it." The Beta praised, standing up and stretching. Ah, so that's his name, Taehyung. Finally, he could address the other without calling him Omega. Glancing over at Taehyung, Jungkook let go of him and stood to the side, waiting for the Omega to get up and leave the room. But he didn't. He watched as the male rubbed a hand over his arm, looking solemn and sad. What was bothering him so much that he was unaware of the awkward silence? It was worrying, really.Steeling his nerves, Jungkook to a step closer and held his hand out, clearing his throat. "Hey, you okay? We can leave now, you know.""Huh..? Oh... Sorry, I didn't realize..." The Omega sighed, slipping down to stand by Jungkook, who was a bit surprised that the other was in fact only reaching his shoulder. It took a moment before he came to and found that it was very silent. Awkwardly so. "Oh, uh no-no, don't apologize. No one told you." He assured Taehyung almost grasping his arms to make his words sincere. The Omega appeared to have caught onto his body language and took a step back. "I know. No one ever tells me anything nowadays." The male said, his voice sharp and slightly wavering. Poor thing... What happened to him?
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
It had been at least three weeks since he was taken to see the pack doctor, and within that time he had suffered through this nasty flu very similar to influenza, experience a panic attack that had just about damaged him from the inside out, and got attacked by a rogue wolf while out getting some fresh air. The only reason he was still able to breathe and move around was simply because of Jungkook, the young Alpha had done everything in his power to aid him and he couldn't be more grateful.Sitting by a stream, Taehyung watched the water swirl and undulate in delicate, constant patterns, his eyes following the swift flow.Aside from the soft trickling noises of water, the area was dead silent around him, which made it ridiculously easy to hear the gentle padding of feet on grass and dirt, coming towards him with each passing second. He wasn't afraid though, he knew the scent of the male approaching and simply stayed where he was."Figured I would find you out here. You really like this place huh? Anyway, how are you feeling, Taehyung?" The Alpha asked, sitting down beside him.Taking in a small breath, Taehyung looked up at the sky and shrugged his newly cut hair just barely touching his eyes. "Better. I don't feel... Sick anymore..." He responded."That's good. That flu really took a toll on you." He heard the male murmur and glanced over at the Alpha, noticing that he seemed a bit off. Then again he's only known the guy for just over a week, so perhaps he was like this sometimes. He nodded, silent puffs of air escaping his lips. "Yeah, but at least I'm still alive." That was really the only good thing he got out of that: still standing on the face of the earth. Rather morbid. It grew quiet, the two of them staring at the water as it flowed past in an unrushed way, little leaves floating on top of the water. Now or never..."I forgot to thank you. For you know... Taking me in... Not many Alphas have the decency to help others, thinking it would make them look weak or vulnerable." He said, both eyes trained on the stream at their feet. From the little moment of dead silence, he could tell he had caught the Alpha off guard. Had he said too much? Words, they were always so easy to get out even when he was at the edge of breaking. Trauma wasn't easy for him, but speaking about it was oddly enough, and it slowly lifted the burden from his shoulders."Yeah, well things are different... At least for our pack. Omegas, Betas and Alphas all stand on the same ground. We all have the same advantages and disadvantages. Here, we don't really care about your secondary gender, just about what you want to be and how we can help achieve that..." The Alpha trailed off, flopping down onto the grass with a huff. "Pride and ego are just things that get in the way, so we really don't pay much attention to it."Taehyung nodded, knowing how destructive those qualities could be. He's seen just how aggressive and mindless people can become when they're challenged, only acting off the first thing that comes to mind."Your pack is very unique. Adaptive and holds a variety of types of Werewolves, everyone gets along so well and works together like this well-oiled machine, filled with life and emotion, its kind of amazing." Taehyung said, glancing over at the other, giving him a soft smile. "I've never seen anything like it... I feel safe here, even with all I've been through everyone I have met is really easy to trust."The other's lip turned up in a smile as well, the Alpha scooting just a wee bit closer before draping an arm across Taehyung's shoulders. "I'm glad you feel better with us, you really do seem a lot more comfortable than the night I brought you here."It was true. Even he saw the progress he had made, going from being skeptical and wary around everyone, to only judging them after seeing the way they acted or behaved. "I'm just glad you found me... Who knows what conditions I might be in now if you hadn't." Taehyung sighed, his legs starting to shake, his hands following suit soon after and made it appear that tremors were coursing through him as if an earthquake was underneath him.The alpha was attentive, immediately grasping Taehyung's shivering hands and held them in his own whilst massaging little circles into the Omega's palms."I know you're scared of the past, but you need to realize that this is the present. You're out of there and doing incredibly well for someone who went through over a decade of terror and torture. Taehyung, you're safe, trust me on this..." The Alpha soothed, making Taehyung relax enough that the shaking ceased. That was something he hadn't quite understood yet, how the male seemed to effortlessly reach out and aid him in revival, breaching through the internalized panic and fear toward this warm feeling that started somewhere in his heart - the last bit of hope still attached in the deepest layers of his mind, hidden under grief, sorrow, pain, and so many other negative emotions. He hadn't even realized he was staring at the Alpha, only being snapped out of his trance by gentle shaking."Hey, you alright? Please don't tell me you went into shock." Jungkook said, genuinely sounding concerned for his wellbeing. Then again, this guy had dragged Taehyung out of that mess so he had a good reason to be worried.Taking in a deep, much-needed breath, Taehyung nodded and gave him an apologetic half-smile. "Yeah, just got a little stuck is all. Thank you for bringing me back out." In the lapse of three weeks, a lot has developed, been refigured and brought into a new light. Just as the peace was finally starting to settle, chaos broke loose once more in the form of painful howls and frantic yelling from the main square of the pack grounds. That could not be good…
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
"You heard that too, right?" Jungkook asked, glancing back at Taehyung. In his years of serving this pack, he's only ever encountered these scents three times. If it was who he thought it was then bloodshed and mild warfare was inevitable. Looking back at the Omega, he was met with unblinking, black irises that blended with the pupil. Much like him, Taehyung was scared."I don't get it, we swore peace between us almost five years ago, why are they deciding to wage another war on us now?" He mumbled, slowly getting to his feet. There was a good chance that those cries were from his own pack considering the fact that a lot of members chose not to fight or involve themselves with violent activities. Now that could be a fatal flaw, leading to many people being hurt..."Maybe they thought something was up? Paranoia and fear and lead to aggressive behaviour..." He heard the Omega mumble."I... I don't know. What I do know is that something is wrong, and we really need to go check it out. That is if you're willing I mean. I don't want to drag you in there against your will, you're still healing." Jungkook said, getting anxious.Holding his breath, Jungkook was somewhat surprised to see Taehyung shake his head. "I'm going with you. I'm a lot stronger than you may think, alright?""I know you're strong, you're standing here with me, you look determined. Even if you're an Omega I know just how tough you are. Let's hurry up then, we don't have much time to waste." He said, shifting quickly before barking at the other to hurry, his ears twitching atop his head.Once the Omega had shifted as well, Jungkook turned tail and galloped toward the village, panic and fear fueling him to move faster, only slowing down to make sure Taehyung was still following him.The first thing that hit him as they neared the pack grounds was this awful metallic scent that permeated the air, quickly becoming so strong that it became difficult to smell anything else. Coming to the border of the territory was a nightmare, the bloodbath finally coming into view. There was blood. A lot of blood. There were small battles littering the grounds, almost twice as many bodies littered the field, marred and mangled beyond recognition. The grass was stained a crimson colour around the corpses, creating pools of red that made Jungkook feel like he was entering the scene of a horror movie. But this was worse, far worse. In reality, it was more of a small scale war zone, gruesome and scarred with all the lives lost.So many generations were ending in the blink of an eye. One swipe of a giant paw or snap if an enemy's powerful jaws and another wolf fell. Friends and family collapsed to the ground in heaps, limbs tangled or torn off. Their own numbers were quickly decreasing, someone falling to the ground every few seconds. It made him feel nauseous, seeing this happen. In the midst of the chaos stood this enormous wolf, their lips curled up to show off the blood-stained teeth filling up their maw. Even though Jungkook was quite large for his breed, he was nothing compared to the beast ripping apart anyone who came close. the mere sight made him want to retreat, but his legs locked up and took away his mobility. He had never seen this one. Why did he have to freeze up now? When so many where suffering or fighting for their lives? This was cowardly and he knew it, but his body refused to succumb and allow him to move even though he could see an enemy charging at him. He had not been expecting Taehyung to dash past him, meeting the fellow predator half-way, their jaws snapping violently for about ten seconds before the Omega got his mouth on the opposer's neck, a nasty crunching noise stopping the constant sound of bone roughly clicking. Eyes wide and unblinking, Jungkook stared at the fallen enemy that laid at Taehyung's feet, blood dripping from the other's mouth. Well, that was unexpected. Stiffening up when Taehyung's eyes met his own he half-expected the male to attack him as well, relieved when he simply padded forward and bumped his head against him, nodding his head toward the fight.Jungkook inhaled deeply and finally pushed himself forward, canting toward the main (but rather horrific) attraction alongside Taehyung. Everything started to blur together soon after they ran into the fray, all he could see was teeth, sharp claws and the hides of the many people who were once breathing and living. Every once in a while he would feel the sting of his flesh being torn by someone's fangs. But he had to persevere and avenge the others, desperately praying that some of them made it out of this. He didn't know how long the fight lasted, but somehow he found himself standing alone after managing to take down one of the many grey-furred wolves that had invaded his home, looking up to see Taehyung and that one large wolf circling each other. They must have just started their little squabble based on how their bodies were still taut and tense, ready to pounce the moment one of them showed any sort of weakness. Taehyung struck first, the Omega becoming an obscure streak that lashed out, red, jagged lines appearing across the wolf's snout. The wolf howled in pain and stumbled back, giving the other time to charge again, swiping at the larger animal's legs so quickly Jungkook's eyes could barely register the movement.Just when he thought Taehyung was going to win against the monstrous being, the wolf swung one way and knocked the Omega to the ground, a loud thump coming as a result of the impact.Without thinking, he ran forward and tackled the opponent, using his momentum to overpower them and send them both to the ground, locking his jaws around the wolf's throat. He growled in warning when they started thrashing around, biting down a little harder to force them to stop. This was an arduous task to uphold with his waning energy and strength, his legs shaking with the strain of using all his weight to keep this thing pinned to the ground.Somehow Taehyung had stumbled over and prodded at his stomach with his cold nose, pushing Jungkook off of the wolf. They backed away and watched as the monster scrambled to its feet, glaring at them for at least ten seconds before begrudgingly turning around, barking at the now diminished army of wolves who grouped up and followed behind.Panting heavily, Jungkook sat down and looked around, seeing a decent number of other wolves still standing in small clusters, some calling out to see if there were some injured and unable to stand, others running around to search for loved ones amidst the wreckage of their pack.He glanced over at Taehyung just in time to see the male wobble and fall to the ground, only now seeing just how much damage had been dealt on Taehyung's body.Transfiguring back into a human, Jungkook hurried to kneel by the Omega, gently pressing a hand against his chest to check for any protruding or absent bones, his other hand hovering in front of the other's nose and mouth to see if he was still breathing. It was faint, but Taehyung was still alive, but horribly banged up from fighting with that awful wolf."I'm going to pick you up, okay? We need to find you a medic, your ribs are broken and there are several wounds around areas that are lethal." He informed, seeing how the other's pupils dilated. He was going into shock.Scooping Taehyung up, Jungkook ran as fast as he could manage, quickly discovering that one of his ankles were sprained, but chose to ignore it, adrenaline still thriving in his system and aided him in his mad dash to get the Omega to safety and heal him."Come on, come on, come on, stay with me, Taehyung." He said through gritted teeth, hearing the other begin to wheeze. That wasn't good.Adjusting his hold, he nearly tripped over his feet when he saw a makeshift medical tent sitting by the edge of the field, dozens of people milling around with varying degrees of injuries. They weren't alone, something he already knew, but it was nice to see so many others were still alive, even if they were half-dead.Several people spotted him coming down the hill, three of them being unoccupied medics. "What happened to him?" One of them asked, an Alpha he vaguely recalled going by the name Ayno. Coming closer to the tent, he spotted several others littering the area, the putrid smell of rubbing alcohol filling the air."Too much, please just help him. He's got several broken ribs, deep gauges, and I think he's gone into shock." Jungkook explained hurriedly, following the small group to an empty cot before placing Taehyung down, biting at his bottom lip worriedly, his eyebrows pulled into a furrow.Ayno turned to him and gave him a sympathetic look. "Don't worry, he's not dying but the healing process will be lengthy. I suggest you go get yourself patched up, that sprain might get worse if you keep walking on it."Jungkook hesitated at first, but eventually nodded and turned to walk away. "Just keep me updated on him." He drifted around the place for a little, nodding at the people he knew and hugged his friends whenever he spotted them. Eventually, he passed by one of the sub-packs, arching an eyebrow when he only saw eight out of the nine members scattered around on the log benches. He stiffened when Woojin met his gaze, disliking the shattered look that filled his eyes."Um... What happened? Where's Hyunjin?" He asked, hoping that they hadn't lost one of the members in their rambunctious group. One of the younger ones, Felix spoke up to respond, staring straight ahead at nothing in particular, a nasty claw mark resting on his cheek. "He's hurt... We don't know if he'll make it... We're all worried." "Even though he can be overdramatic and annoying he's still one of us. One of the stray kids." Changbin cut in, earning a collective hum of agreement from the others."Oh... Well, at least you guys made it out, and I'm sure he'll be fine, our medics are great, they'll take care of him." He assured, trying to sound confident and sure of himself to raise their spirits a little. He was older, so he had to set a good example for younger years to follow. Only problem? He was not very good at setting examples and preferred to follow them instead, courtesy of being the younger sibling growing up.Changbin sighed and looked down at the ground, Felix sitting beside him. The two looked a bit lost and dazed, flecks of blood still painting their skin. Both of them were younger than he was, and even this short battle had been traumatizing, so he could only imagine what it was like for them."I'm glad that we're alive, but the fact we could lose one of our own is... It's scary." Chan said, both forearms wrapped in gauze and bandages.Sucking in a breath, Jungkook nodded and leaned against a support beam, digging his toe into the dirt. "I get that. Just hold onto a little faith, alright? Get some rest." He suggested, begrudgingly getting up and walked away after they all murmured something in return. He sat down on a counter after being found by a doctor who had been sent after him to set his ankle, staring at his feet that hovered over the ground. Everything hurt, but all he could focus on was Taehyung. Was he okay? Had something gone wrong? God he really wanted to know how he was doing."You alright there? Your scent went bitter." The doctor asked, reading her nametag before nodding."I'm fine... Just worried about a friend of mine." He answered, not even realizing that his ankle had been straightened, the pain finally hitting him. "Oh jeez- ow. Why am I just feeling this now?""You probably came down from your adrenaline rush, lay down and get some rest, I'll treat the rest of your wounds then, alright?" She said, gently pushing him down with a neutral expression on her face. With a reluctant nod, Jungkook closed his eyes and tried to relax, finding it easier than he expected despite the throbbing pain shooting up his leg and the numb tingling where the scratches were. Getting some sleep was probably a good idea, he could fret later on.He just needed to relax...
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
Okay, so I was goofing around with ideas and for some reason, this story idea came to my head. Basically, it's my odd version of the myth of Calypso (any PJO fans out there?) with a little bit of Princess Mononoke in the mix. It was sparked when I was reading fanfics on Wattpad, and I really just wanna know if I should like- try it or just focus on this- It's still like processing and stuff so ya know-
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
Waking up had been a bit of a problem for Taehyung. Either he had become so drained that he was knocked out for a good long while, or he had been given something that kept him under for a while. Whatever the case, he was groggy and stiff upon waking up, barely able to lift his head from the pillow when he finally came to.Everything was blurry for a little, his ears folding back as he tried to keep his head up and make sense of his surroundings. It smelt like cedarwood and rubbing alcohol which made his nose burn, a small whimper coming out that was answered by a gasp and warm hand on his head. The only problem was it was unidentifiable, having no prior knowledge of this person touching him. Panicking, he jumped and thrashed around like a fish out of water, proving to be somewhat effective as the hand evaded his space. Panting, he opened his eyes and sat up despite being rather disoriented and confused still. A guy stood a few feet away, his hands up in a gesture that seemed to be an attempt at being comforting. Well, he wasn't being attacked, but he was still startled."Hey there buddy, it's okay, you're in the packhouse. I'm just watching over you in the meantime, Jungkook's been out and about trying to help get everything back in order." The guy said slowly, putting one hand out as if afraid that Taehyung would bite. It was tempting, but he looked around and saw that he was indeed back at the packhouse, the only difference was the smell, so far this guy was trustworthy. Looking at him, he picked out his features a little: rectangular face, angular features, probably kind of scary when he wants to be, a Beta, strong build, kind of stocky. (I'm bad at describing people, but it's the iconic Jackson Wang XD)Apprehensive still, he leaned away from the outstretched hand and huffed softly, whimpering when pain in his chest flared up, his breathing laboured and harsh."Oh fuck- Calm down, it's okay, stay still for a little and I'll get some painkillers, alright? Moving around will just make things worse." The unnamed male said and rushed out of the room a moment later. Skittish, Taehyung whined and flopped back onto his side, using his sense of smell to figure out what was going on. Everything smelled the same from the gentle cedarwood to the bitter pine and the musty scent of the blankets. It was strangely comforting, but far from as comforting as the steadily growing aroma of the Alpha, whimpering softly at the thought of the other. Wait...Sitting back up a split second after realizing what was coming closer, Taehyung's energy levels boosted, his tail wagging around as he waited for Jungkook to appear. And that he did, his head popping in through the doorway."Tae? Oh my god, you're awake!" The other exclaimed with a cheerful laugh, stepping into the room with a bright smile on his face.Excited to see the other, Taehyung leapt down from the bed, skidding and wobbling toward him hastily, bumping his head against the other's stomach and legs before recoiling and sitting down, feeling ashamed for being so touchy and exuberant all of a sudden, his ears pinned back."Oh, hey hey. It's fine. You can be affectionate if you want, I don't mind. Besides, you scared me out there, exerting all that energy. That was incredible, Tae. I don't think I've ever seen someone stand up to that monster... I swear you amaze me more and more..." Jungkook whispered to him and knelt down, his hands warm and comfortable against his muzzle, almost familiar. After a moment or two, he calmed down enough to sit still and allow Jungkook to stroke him softly, occasionally licking at his hand to assure the other he was alright now, glad that he was alive. It seemed to work based on the small fit of laughter and the relieved sigh."Yeah, you're good now. I was worried you wouldn't wake up... I know that's probably kind of sudden, but in the time I've known you, I realize that you and I have kind of become a duo... and it's honestly kind of strange considering it takes a while for me to... Well, become attached to anyone. Then again you're pretty special... So strong despite what you've gone through." This little speel made Taehyung whine, padding forward to nudge the other gently, sitting down and put his head on the other's leg, looking up at him with large, shining eyes.He couldn't stop the bubbly feeling the surfaced when the other cooed and started to scratch behind his ears, his tail slowly wagging behind him. A soft gurgle came from his stomach, whimpering softly from embarrassment."There we are... You're probably hungry, huh? Don't worry, once Jackson gets back with some painkillers we can go get some food, okay? Sound good?" Jungkook asked, his thumb brushing against his temples in such a sweet way he nearly closed his eyes and whined, almost. They sat there for a while in comfortable silence for god knows how long, simply enjoying the sensation of being there, alive and mostly unharmed minus a few bumps and breaks. Speaking of which his ribs and stomach were really starting to hurt, timidly nipping at Jungkook's hand to get his attention."Hm?" The other looked down and gave him a quizzical look. "What's wrong?"With a squeaky bark, he tried to get up and show the other what was bothering him, yelping in pain when the throbbing sensation began, falling back down a moment later and whined."Oh... Poor you... I'm sorry, I don't know what's wrong, just stay calm for now, he's probably almost back." The other assured, his thumbs rubbing over his ears and forehead sweetly until they heard thudding footsteps coming down the hallway, a very red-faced and out of breath Beta standing in the doorway for a moment before stumbling inside."He-hey. Sorry, lemme... Let me catch my breath. Tsu was chasing after me, got distracted. Oh hey, Jungkook, when did you get here?" Jungkook sighed and nodded. "Bad move on your part, Wang. And about five minutes ago, now can you give him the meds? He's in pain." The Alpha's voice wasn't harsh, but he made it very obvious that the stranger's carelessness was not going to be taken kindly. The Beta seemed to get the message and straightened up, his face settling into a more natural state, intense gaze and intimidating features. "Right, sorry. Here, just open your mouth, it won't work right away but it'll help." He said, opening the bottle and shook a couple out before offering them to him.It took a bit of effort but he managed to get the pills into his mouth, putting his head down after swallowing, his ears folded back against his head. Jungkook's hand trailed down his spine, coming back up to scratch behind his ears."There we are... Much better now, hm? We'll wait for a little before we go to eat so the ibuprofen can do it's thing, okay?" Jungkook spoke, his fingers warm and gentle against his scruff. Sounds alright to him, this feels so much better than having to walk around while he was still in pain. Bless the Alpha for being so considerate on his part.So there they sat, even after the Beta left to do whatever he had been before, a comfortable silence enveloping them both to the point that Taehyung felt like he was in a dream, or at least falling asleep. Deep down he knew that this euphoria wasn't a fraud, but the fact he felt so relaxed around someone he had known for under a month made him feel on edge and confused. Shouldn't he be scared of whoever came near? Or was his mind just mulling things over and causing this transition to the outside world easier by attaching himself to someone? This was making his head hurt."Hey, you still with me, Tae? I think you should be good now... And you really need to eat..." The Alpha's voice cut through his thoughts, gentle and hesitant as ever, but still so comforting and real.He picked his head up and gently bumped against the other, his tail slowly swaying from side to side, a soft laugh coming from the male."Looks like someone is feeling better, hm? Come on, I'm sure they'll have something for you." With that, he shakily got to his feet and started walking alongside Jungkook, stumbling every so often thanks to the uneven pathways and lack of strength. He would have asked the other to carry him, but that might have been rather strenuous considering the Alpha was probably tired. Besides, exercise was good right now. Almost as good as the enticing scents that drifted toward them, no doubt some sort of well-cooked meat. The thought made his stomach rumble, his ears folding back against his head. Hearing laughter, he looked up at saw the other smiling, probably amused by his embarrassment as he knelt down."We're almost there, here, you've done enough walking, let me carry you. Don't need you passing out, huh?" The other asked, and swept him up with what appeared to be little effort. Jungkook was warm and solid, his hold strong and secure, which made him feel so much better. Maybe there was a reason the other made him feel so safe, and a good one for sure.
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
His fur was soft, Jungkook concluded as he pets Taehyung's ears, the other's head on his lap as they watched the fire crackle and light up the sky. It was a chilly night, but the fire was strong enough to provide decent warmth, and the Omega was warm as well, which was good. How long had it been since the battle? He couldn't quite remember the exact date, but it had been the middle of summer at that time, and now it was late fall, close to the beginning of winter. One thing that Jungkook found significant was just how quickly their friendship had developed, going from strangers to good friends in a matter of weeks. And with those weeks, they both knew that a mating season was on the brink of blooming, the Omega already experiencing mild cramps and cravings for sweets and cuddles. Now was one of those times. This was nice, just comforting a pained Taehyung by the firepit, the rest of the pack eating and chattering comfortably with each other. Almost like everything was back to normal. Almost... It was quieter than usual, the talking sounded muted or muffled. It was pleasant if he were being honest, the lack of noise making the moment seem all that more enjoyable. When Taehyung finally shifted around and looked up at him, Jungkook adjusted his position to let the other get comfortable as he offered small bits of meat every so often. It was sweet, knowing that the other trusted him enough to lay his head on his leg and rest, unlike when the first met and the Omega jumped at any chance to defend himself. Hopefully, that meant he was healing mentally as well as physically.Closing his eyes, Jungkook sighed softly and smiled, waiting for the other to nudge his hand and tell him to transfigure as well, knowing the older was becoming slightly addicted to the idea of physical, non-sexual affection. The few times they had hugged or snuggled up together had been a bit of a rarity, but was slowly becoming more of a common thing between them.He didn't mind one bit, in all honesty, he liked the idea of a cuddle buddy. Ever since his first signs of being an Alpha, his mother had refrained from hugging him, the same with his friends unless he initiated it. The only exception was Taehyung, who would unabashedly attach himself to Jungkook without explaining, not that one was needed. When something cold and wet brushed against his palm, he opened his eyes and looked down at Taehyung, smiling at the other's innocent tilt of the head, large eyes staring up at him expectantly.Jungkook laughed softly and carefully scooted out from under Taehyung. "I know, I know. Just a moment." He said, shifting a moment later and laid on his stomach beside the Omega. Almost immediately, Taehyung had scooted to lay right beside him, his tail wagging sweetly, making Jungkook nuzzle him, endeared by his awfully adorable nature for such a badass. It made him wonder just what the other had been trained to do back at the lab, a question he had been wanting to have answered ever since Taehyung’s arrival. It didn't matter, or it shouldn't at least. He figured that Taehyung wouldn't appreciate being interrogated about what had exactly happened, especially after the Omega had informed him of the basics of his troubles. For now, he would just have to make do with the bit he had. Closing his eyes, Jungkook put his head over Taehyung’s and waited for the other to move or something, since they certainly weren't going to sleep out in the open tonight, not when there was a possibility of the Omega being thrown into his heat. They both knew the worst thing that would happen is Taehyung bleeding everywhere since the first few days were more like a period, but they still wanted to be cautious.Hours seemed to pass as they snuggled up together under the starry sky, everything blurring together as voices faded into background noise, and all Jungkook could think of was how lucky he had been to have found the other. Growing up he had been a little more introverted, and even with the few friends he managed to make, he had never been very open or eager to stick around with a specific person, not until Taehyung came along at least. The other was so... Extravagant? Amazing? Awe-inspiring? He wasn't sure what word to use to describe him, but he knew for sure that he was starting to like the Omega, and that probably wasn't okay. Sadly, he wasn't able to make the feelings go away, even when he tried to picture Taehyung as a good friend or sibling, it all circled back to the images of the other interacting with the pack pups and how much he wished that the little ones were theirs. But based on what he could only guess the other had gone through, that kind of idea would scare Taehyung, and he really didn't want to do that...While he was lost in thought, he hadn't even realized that he had started grooming the Omega, and when he did come to terms with it, he jumped and stopped abruptly, eliciting a small whine from the other, who looked up and tilted his head.Wait, was Taehyung enjoying that? Blinking, Jungkook tentatively started to groom him again, noticing the way the other's tail started wagging and got excited, happy that Taehyung wasn't hating this. What else did the other like, he wondered, pride filling him up with the way Taehyung leaned toward him. He had to admit, this was lovely. Hopefully, they had more moments like this.
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
So I'm a bit sorry to say that I've seriously run out of ideas... My motivation has run dry really. I love this story, really, but the problem is I have no clue how to properly write trauma and how people will change and progress as they're treated with care and such. I think instead I'll focus on working on this different au that's more like a dystopian thing, with a whole world I made and am currently still working on. For now I'm not going to call this discontinued, but rather on a hiatus. I'm sorry if this is disappointing, but I'd prefer to write something that I'm proud of and feel is of good quality. Thank you to all the people who read the first few chapters of the story! You're all amazing.
