One big lesson in life, if you manage to somehow magically live past an entire century, is how to preserve important or sentimental documents like a photo of you and your family that you can’t see, notebooks with years worth of work, or in this specific case an old ID card.
It definitely gets more annoying over time, collecting paper, it takes up a lot of space if you’ve lived as long as Izuku has. Paper takes up about 50% of the houses that he’s lived in at this point. Could he put some of the things on his computer? Yes absolutely. Will he do it? No, the last thing he needs is a digital footprint that screams I am a cockroach, I am incapable of dying. And besides everything that is what he calls “Akatani Confidential” (any information or theories that he has that would give away that he’s lived for almost three centuries) is in a code that he made personally in a written language that he made himself. Both of them were made when he was bored as shit and young as hell. He has done a lot of things out of boredom-and he’s getting off track. ID cards. Right.
The point is he’s saved everything no matter how insignificant or Important since he first touched one. Which brings him to his old UA staff card and his ancient Pro Hero card. Some people might say ‘that thing is at least 100 years old there is no fucking way in hell that shit will still work, especial since Nezu is currently the principal at UA. He is quite literally in charge of the security system And wouldn’t the card be null at this point?’. And that’s where Izuku would say ‘you’re right’ giving a dramatic pause before continuing ‘but, I love a challenge and quite literally have all the time in the world on my hands to do what I want,’.
His appearance did however have to go through a minor update to be the same as the photo ID on his staff and Pro Hero card, nothing hair dye and a haircut couldn't fix before he came to UA.
The fact of the matter is his card still works to get on campus, Nezu is none the wiser about it or just doesn't care for whatever reason, Nezu’s tea stash in his office is fucking exquisite and the staff meeting is about to start according to his old staff email that he still gets messages on. He may or may not have messed with the mail system before he decided to retire from UA for this specific reason. Just incase. (shut the fuck up he is not paranoid). A
nd lucky him the tunnels and passageways are still there and the same so he can go through UA with no hassle from the current staff members.
Finally he makes it to the vent opening that goes over the staff meeting room. Looking down he can see that everyone is there but the meeting hasn’t quite started just yet. Unlatching the vent quietly he pokes his head out. Honestly he's lucky that no one on staff has supper hearing... besides Nezu but his is more of a slight enhancement and a bigger hertz range. He really hopes he can get through this without a bullet to the face from Snipe and minimal trauma to his unwitting coworkers. He kind of wishes he went with plan delta.
