'So many people have gone missing in that forest, you might as well call up your family and say goodbye on your way there,'
The cashier's words echo in Yoongi's head as he drives. He knows he shouldn't have struck up a conversation with him about the damn forest while he was just buying gas and beef jerky, but his excitement pushed past the part of his brain that knew better. The forest is such a breathtaking display of nature at its finest and he's always been inspired by it. He hates the surrounding town and everyone in it who complains about the forest’s presence and campaign for it to be bulldozed. He doesn't trust a word out of their damn mouths, but they stick with him anyways. He's heard the rumors too, of course he has. They're unavoidable.Maybe two dozen people have gone missing over the past few decades, all in said forest that lies beyond the crappy run down town. Before the rumors and fear set in, the forest earned its reputation with the high school kids that would camp there, lighting fires and disturbing the foliage. One by one, they stopped coming back in the mornings, their friends claiming to have no idea what had happened, claiming to have seen nothing. Countless hunters have disappeared forever in its emerald depths. A hiking couple from a large city. Workers looking to cut chunks of it down for a resort. Search parties have combed through it and failed every time, giving up because of how thick and tremendous the forest is. It has flourished in the recent years as its reputation set in, with such little disturbance it has spread out and climbed towards the mountains. Since then, the little town has the general smarts to not go near it, especially not at night, which is exactly when all the disappearances have been reported to occur. But Yoongi isn't scared. He's actually gone there many times, for walks and expeditions to check out the plants. At first he had been a little nervous, but once he set foot in its leafy depths, something about the forest just felt so damn welcoming. Being there makes him feel relaxed; the quiet many people find haunting is endlessly peaceful to him. On the outskirts of the forest lies a small, abandoned old cabin. It hasn't been touched in years, the last owner moving away ages ago as the forest grew with its reputation. Nobody from town would consider buying it, and nobody looking to move to the town would choose the sanctuary of a huge deadly forest, so the cost of the land had fallen in the recent years. Once Yoongi realized he could afford it, and the simple life of living by his favourite place all alone flashed before his eyes, he was sold. Yoongi's far too determined to be scared of the lush, beautiful forest. He can see it now, looming over the horizon, dark and wild. It seems to go on forever, disappearing into the mountains beyond, a great emerald mass of trees and rocks and rivers and creatures and life. God, Yoongi craves it. He's determined to settle in and take it slow and steady. To get to know the forest bit by bit, even if he has to start with baby steps.Yoongi pulls off the road to the path down to the forest. The cabin is located across a wide stretch of land, in view of the tire tracks that lead up to it. Ferns skirt the perimeter of the forest like a petticoat, hugging the trees and concealing deer paths within. They reach beyond the treeline as well, welcoming him to his new home. It’s a dilapidated, rotting old shack that can barely constitute a house, but Yoongi isn’t surprised. He knows the place just needs a little love. He's seen it many times before on his visits and came prepared.Supplies he brought in the back of his truck all come out under his hands as he works tirelessly to re-enforce the tiny building and patch up all the gaping holes. He clears all of the cobwebs and rotting wood and moss that managed to invade the space, but doesn't touch the ferns outside. He drags the broken door out - it's been kicked in by countless trespassers - and replaces it with a strong, weatherproof locking one. He repairs broken cabinets and drawers inside, delighted to find that the well behind the shack is fully-functioning.It's beyond dusk when he finishes. Now he has a slightly more clean but still kind of dilapidated old shack with nothing inside but a few spare cabinets. He parks his truck on the side with less ferns and the old remains of tire tracks marked in the earth. He brings his sleeping bag inside, locks the door. He curls up in a corner with all of his blankets, grateful for the spring temperatures that don't drop too low. He chews on beef jerky and looks at his drawn plans for this place, feeling a little thrill of excitement. It's going to be fantastic. The next day he sets up his massive oak table he'd purchased just for this home with all of his equipment from his apartment. He dumps his stash of beakers on it, sets up his scale and his blowtorch and eye droppers and rags. He has corked vials, metal tongs, books and books of notes from others and even one scribbled with his own writings. Half of the cabinets he stores with non-perishable food, the other half with ingredients for potions. He has several little knives and scissors and various tools he arranges carefully. He eats his lunch as he surveys his new kitchen, which is partially dominated by his alchemy ingredients, but he doesn't mind the organized chaos of his home. He only has himself to please, and he's quite pleased. He barely goes into the forest until his home is finished, draped with furs and a bed and an old rocking chair. His cabinets are stocked and his shoes are lined up by the door. The alchemy table takes a lot of space, which he couldn’t be happier about.Eventually though, Yoongi's satisfied with his work and sets out to start doing what he came here for in the first place. Collecting ingredients. He puts on his proper hiking boots, stuffing the legs of his cargo pants into them. He wears a thin black t-shirt and takes his backpack and satchel with him. His backpack has his sleeping bag, a flashlight, some odorless food, and a first aid kit he made himself. His satchel is for the much more important things to come.Taking a deep, excited breath, Yoongi stands before the forest at dawn and walks in, aiming to venture deeper than he'd ever gone before. He pockets his compass, making a note of where his home is, and sets on his path. The forest breathes all around him, humming with life and energy. Yoongi is in awe every step of the way, watching the trees pose in garments of moss and ivy. The ferns wave with an absence of wind, insects hurry through the air, filling it with the buzz of wings. The background music of trickling water somewhere nearby. Birds nest peacefully in the trees. Squirrels chase each other across tiny, fragile tree limbs. Yoongi does his best to not disrupt, watching his every step and moving overtop of any plants. The dead leaves cushion his boots, fresh dirt caking to them in no time.Yoongi pauses at a creek, drenching his hand in water and coating his neck with it. He's already sweaty from the heat and the forest is so humid thanks to the trees keeping the earthy, hot air in like a dome. The droplets wet his shirt, but he can barely care because he's found a patch of fiddlehead ferns. Yoongi draws his knife out, very gently cutting some of the heads and placing them in his satchel. These kinds of ferns he can use in salads or stir fries, but he could also keep them for ingredients. Walking along the creek now, he can see they're thriving in this environment, thick patches growing in clusters further down the stream. He doesn't feel bad cutting just what he needs, a meal's worth plus a little more for his alchemy, and continuing on.He climbs a wall of rocks to get to the trees growing on top of them, their enormous, bulky roots exposed to the elements as they hug the massive boulders, stronger than any living creature. Yoongi grips them as he climbs, grateful for the help. On the top of the wall he ducks between them, rocks digging into his back as he finds the little orange mushrooms that grow inside exposed roots on rocks. They have such specific growing needs that they’re quite rare to find naturally, which has him grinning with excitement. He scrapes them off carefully with his paring knife, collecting them and putting them in a smaller pocket of his satchel. He finds an abandoned bird's nest at the foot of a tree and collects the broken shells from it. He encounters a snake and keeps his distance, watching in awe as it glides away smoothly among the tangled foliage and dry leaves. He finds a few banana slugs, but the only way to use them is dry them out for potions. Yoongi doesn't feel too comfortable killing just for his alchemy, and decides to look for already dead ones to use. He only finds more live ones. They're a beautiful vibrant yellow, and as he watches one squirm along the ground a few yards away, a bird drops from the sky and collects it in its sharp claws. In awe and delight with nature, his jaw drops and he cranes his neck to watch it fly away to a high tree branch.Yoongi finds several bones, but no corpses. Bones always come in handy, so he pockets them after trying to identify them. He isn't able to figure out what most of the small, fragile ones are, as they tend to look quite similar at this size. Eventually he finds a larger, thick white bone buried in the rotting leaves. He uncovers it, gently brushing it free of dirt to reveal that it’s a jawbone. It's too small to be a deer or moose of any kind, and he gently turns it, slowly feeling a sense of dread take over. It's eerily familiar. He touches the gaps for teeth and accepts it with a heavy heart, accepts that it is a human jawbone. He pockets it anyways, wondering what the hell had happened to the human and knowing he'll never get an answer. When his limbs start to tire, he turns back to the west where his cabin is located. His compass faithfully takes him back to the ledge of rocks, the bubbling creek rich with ferns, until the trees slowly thin and he can make out his cabin with the truck parked beside.Back home, he sets out his ingredients with a sense of accomplishment, admiring his work and cleaning himself off to make dinner. The days pass similarly. Yoongi explores the forest in every direction until he tires. He collects mushrooms, plants, dead frogs and slugs and fish, bones, bark, and everything he can think of that has properties he can take advantage of. He collects things he doesn't even think are in his books, but he wants to experiment with. The forest is so plentiful that Yoongi feels greedy taking, so he treats it gently. He never experiments with living creatures. He always harvests plants carefully, taking just what he needs. He never rips out roots unless the roots themselves are the ingredient he looks for. He eats the plants he collects with his brought rations, and sets out traps that occasionally gift him with meat. His traps kill fast and instantly, and he only sets out two, close to his cabin. The few foxes and rabbits he catches he treats with respect, using every bit of the body. He gets new ingredients to use, like ears and teeth and eyeballs. The furs he keeps in a pile bring to town to sell when he goes with his potions. What he takes is replaced by the natural cycle of life, and Yoongi works his way into the ecosystem with ease. He lives in peace and harmony with the forest until one night about a month in, when he wakes at the middle of the night.Yoongi starts as he opens his eyes, sweating despite wearing nothing but a pair of boxers. He pushes the furs clinging to his chest down, sitting up as he registers a bright light in the room. Standing there just by his alchemy table is a humanoid shape, outlined loosely with an electric blue colour that reminds him of lightning. It's completely transparent, save for its eyes, which are deep, burning pools of green. The figure is tall, the lines depicting its shape are vague, just making out legs and hips and a chest. Antlers grow from thick, short hair at its crown. The figure, male presenting, tall, made of hot blue light is angry. Its expression is the most detailed part of its body, eyebrows knit together in fury, mouth in a tight line."Leave." Despite the figure being barely outlined, its voice is booming, penetrating every corner of the house. It's so deep the bass shakes the floorboards as he rumbles, "leave this forest and never come back."Yoongi presses back against the wall, heart hammering as he clenches his jaw.The specter approaches him, step by step. He looks angrier the closer he comes, and Yoongi's heart threatens to break his rib cage. Its emerald eyes swirl like a storm, all iris and no pupil. Just as Yoongi thinks he's about to pass out, it vanishes, darkness swallowing up his vision whole. After many minutes of sitting and staring, Yoongi decides he's gotten enough sleep for the night and gets up, pulling pants on shakily. He checks on all of his potions, his necklaces dangling and interfering with no shirt to hold them back. He gently takes the crystals hanging from thick leather cords and drops them behind his back, focusing on the task at hand. He lights several candles and pulls up his chair. His adrenaline potion is in the curing stages from brewing overnight, currently in a muddy brown colour in its transition between purple and green. Just as it should be at this time, according to Yoongi's notes. He crushes a fox tooth into dust and shakes the sandy substance into the brown goo to help it along, before dropping his pestle and taking a deep, shaking breath. In the light of the candles he can tell that the specter is gone and not staring in at him from any windows.Leave, it had told him, with anger and pain. But behind the furious expression Yoongi had seen fear. There was a vulnerability to the specter. Yoongi's never seen one before, but is almost certain that was his midnight guest. Could it have to do with the people who have gone missing? Was this a dead hiker trying to warn him or something? He gazes out the window to find the sun nowhere near in sight. It's definitely near midnight.Yoongi doesn't let it shake him. He knows that the forest thrives with or without him. The meager things he collects for his potions don't affect the forest’s health, he's just one person taking all he needs. He treats everything with respect and he's careful. He stirs his potion, eats some breakfast, and eventually, dismisses the specter as a dream. The forest welcomes him when he approaches, singing with life as the days meld from spring into summer. Yoongi forgets about the specter as the days go on, making potion after potion, testing them to find they're working more potently than ever before. He sells them when he goes on trips to town and uses the money for gas and more non-perishable food. He treats himself to a loaf of bread and some candy.Maybe a week later, he wakes to the jarring sounds of his door being shredded by claws. He startles into a sit, blinking as it comes again, frantic but deliberate. Then a piercing howl shatters through the night, deafening with its proximity right outside the door, and the scratching starts with an intensity he's never heard before. The scrapes of nails through his door deafen him as he blinks, stunned, wondering what the hell. He doesn't have any meat left around or any smells filling the room at all, he's never even seen a wolf in this area, but almost as if to combat that thought, another ear splitting howl fills the night. With the way it's going, his door is going to be broken into splinters. Yoongi shakily gets to his feet, managing to find a jacket to throw on. His pendants swing wildly from his neck as he grabs a knife, one he uses primarily for butchering corpses, and having no idea what he'd use it for, he throws open his window. The wolf stops scratching to look at him with blazing green eyes, emerald like the forest. Yoongi falters completely at the familiar stare, dropping his knife onto the floorboards. The wolf lays its ears flat, lips peeling back for a deafening, menacing snarl before it lunges for the window. Yoongi slams the window shut in its face, thanking himself for deciding to go with reinforced glass. The scraping starts up again, this time on the glass. It's a whole new sound, a squeaking, raking shrill that could make ears bleed. It’s broken up by loud barks and growls. Yoongi stumbles back from the window, falling on his ass and covering his face, just praying and hoping that his house doesn't collapse under the assault. He pushes his back to the wall of the house, looking up at the paws carving trails into the glass. The sound is like hell, but Yoongi endures it, eyes wide and mind disoriented. He covers his ears, panting softly and just waiting. He doesn’t know what else to do but listen to his pulse beat in his head. After maybe twenty minutes, it stops. He hears low, guttural growling that fades away as the wolf moves further and further off into the forest.Yoongi stays on his spot on the floor, slowly regaining his courage as the sun rises. He forces himself to eat some bread for a measly breakfast. The whole time the blazing green eyes of the wolf haunt him, reminding him of his fear. Yoongi takes deep breaths, shaking his head. He can't let himself be scared, he's here for a reason and he isn't harming anything. He gazes out at the rising sun, taking courage from it, and opens his front door to survey the damage. The early rays of dawn fall directly on it, showing claw marks that are deep and thorough. Wood shavings litter his welcome mat, along with a smear of dried blood, likely from a torn paw.He turns his head to see his window ruined by claw marks in the glass, wild and desperate."Fuck," Yoongi whispers, and plants some wolfbane. It takes a while to scrape up the funds to replace his window and fix his door, but he works harder on potions, buying more supplies and foraging more ingredients. In the nights the wolf doesn’t come back. He fixes up his place and always locks his door when he’s at home.He doesn't think the forest is rejecting him. It thrives with or without him, and when he walks into it, he feels no hostility. No specters or wolves come at him thirsty for blood. The forest welcomes him and provides what he needs. One morning he stumbles upon a patch of edible mushrooms in a sudden stroke of luck and has mushroom soup better than he's ever had. He's starting to consider some sort of entity is indeed attacking him, and wonders why. He stops trapping animals, just in case that's the reason. Eats vegetarian for the next few weeks, missing but not needing the meat. He has countless supplies of nuts to substitute the protein loss, and eggs from town whenever he goes. And it works, at least he thinks it does, until one night weeks later.Yoongi wakes to the sensation of a snake slithering up his belly under his clothes. Icy fear stabs through him, petrifying his entire body save for his pounding heart. He tries desperately to think of a plan, turning his head ever so slightly as not to alert his bed companion, wondering if he'd kept a knife or anything by his pillow. But before he can come up with anything, the snake is at his breastbone. It slithers forward slow, steady, and pokes out from under his shirt.Except it's not a snake. It's thin, long and green, but the tip that greets him in the dim is way too small to be a snake. It looks more like the very tip of a snake’s tail, but even still, it's so small for the supposed snake's size.Yoongi inhales sharply as it curls beneath his face, but the smell that greets him is like the leaves in the forest - sharp and green, so vibrant. Yoongi steals himself, wondering if perhaps it's a vine of some sort.More slither on the ground so fast he only hears them, strapping to his wrists and ankles and tightening instantly. They pull so hard he feels his limbs might rip off. Instead, he's dragged off of his bed, hitting the floor limply with a yelp. The vines dig into his skin, hard and scaled like woody ivy stems, but thick and green and lush like hanging vines. They drag him across his dirty floorboards to the door, which is their point of entry.Yoongi's slammed brutally into his door, which is when he fights back for his limbs, jerking roughly. From under the door, a faint green glow seeps under the crack, and the strength of the vines double, forcing him down to the ground, forcing him to bow."What do you want from me?!?!?" Yoongi yells, terrified and exhausted."All humans do is destroy everything in your path," comes the voice like before. The door trembles with the intensity of the bass, Yoongi couldn't possibly mishear. "Sooner or later you will too.""That's not what I'm here to do!" Yoongi cries, and again, he's slammed directly into the door, but the vines release their vicious hold and sneak away under the door. The green light fades, and when Yoongi gathers the strength to open the door, he's greeted by an empty landing, not even a vine remaining. He does have evidence of the event actually happening, bruises circling his wrists and ankles, as well as his jaw and shoulder from being slammed against his door. Yoongi applies his own special healing salve and lets himself rest. He needs to talk to this entity, this spirit or whatever, before it kills him or something worse. Because Yoongi isn't leaving.Spring boils into summer. The sharp smell of leaves fills Yoongi's nose as he crushes a branch's worth between two rocks. The paste he scrapes out from it he rubs on his neck and wrists, a natural mosquito repellent. It's early in the day, but the heat has already set in, making the leaves of the forest glow with sunlight. They block out a large part of the heat, but still, it's so warm and humid. Yoongi carefully removes his t-shirt, tucking it around the strap of his satchel and brushing the sweat from his brow. It clings there anyways, dampening his wavy hair. His crystal pendants swing from his neck in the air, the breeze wrapping around his torso and cooling his body. As he walks deeper into the forest, his eyes scan the bark of the moss-coated trees. He's looking for the specific kind of mushrooms he’s seen nesting in the moss, squiggly dark purple ones that he can use to make a remedy for sleep loss. Turns out, sleep loss remedies are some of his bestsellers, and he's considering farming the mushrooms he needs to make them. He's seen the mushrooms around but they’re quite rare.He feels plants stroke at his bare skin as he crouches and pays them no mind, running his fingers through the tickly, damp moss and smiling. This tree's trunk is larger than his entire body, he can just imagine its thick roots coiling in the dirt, burying themselves in deep so the great tree can survive. He really does love this forest so much, appreciates how it grows and provides him with all of the ingredients he needs. Magical vine creature or not, he's determined to stay, no matter how many sleepless nights he suffers. It's been a while since the last one. But does his tree have his mushrooms, Yoongi wonders, standing and plodding around it. His tied shirt brushes the moss as he walks around it, catching little green fuzzies. He hardly minds, eyes scanning the solid green mass before giving up on them for now. He’s parched. He pauses, locating the sound of running water and starting after it. He doesn't usually carry water with him, just the ingredients to purify it because the forest has so many streams coming off the great river that cuts through it.Yoongi follows the sounds of rushing water through branching ferns and fluffy trees. There are no paths, but he doesn't need them. He startles a grazing elk, watching in awe as the magnificent creature gallops away through the forest like he knows it by heart. He's led up a steep rise in the earth, and he climbs it easily, reaching the peak and going back down, deeper into the forest. In the back of his mind he keeps track of where his cabin is, confident he can get back easy. He's always been good at navigation, and has his compass just in case. The forest changes, and although Yoongi's been following the music of rushing water, it suddenly sounds very far away. Despite it being the middle of the day, the forest is getting darker, with a mist in the air. He walks forward, drawn by morbid curiosity of what he’s being led to. That's when he smells it - a scent that fills the air with sweetness. He tries to pin it down as he walks closer, going through all of the flowers he knows that can give off a scent so strong, but he can't identify it. The smell is like honey and chocolate and sweet flowers all at once, mixing in perfect harmony to form such an aroma. He doesn’t think; just goes. The tree he discovers is a massive thing, a size that Yoongi's only seen a few times in all of his time in this forest. Its looks like something that could be found in a rainforest, a great, scaly, green-colored trunk with vines draping everywhere. The tree itself is full of knots of various sizes, dripping with golden sap. It must be the sap that’s smelling so good, Yoongi realizes. With every step closer, it gets even better. It invades his senses, makes his mouth water. Yoongi's never seen anything like the tree or its fluids.Dazed, Yoongi comes forward and dips his fingers into the nearest knot right in front of his face. His fingers collect the dripping golden sap, and up close, he thinks of honey. It has a similar sticky, dripping consistency, but the scent is so dizzyingly good. He shoves his fingers into his mouth. It coats his tongue instantly, slick and sweet as syrup. Yoongi licks it up hastily. He knows he should take some back home to do tests on, but he can’t control his urge to consume it. He doesn't have any vials to collect the sap with, anyways. He’s licking the golden webs from his spread fingers, not caring as it drips from his mouth. It's not quite like honey, there's a heavier underlying taste that he can't quite decipher, but hardly has the care to. He presses his face to the green scaly trunk, licking up the sap that leaks from the knot. When its sap is all gone and in Yoongi’s mouth, he bends down to a lower knot and licks up the sap from that one as well. He’s uncharacteristically shameless about it, pressing his body to the tree and not caring as it smears on his chin and cheeks, golden and sticky. His tongue grows heavy with exertion as his limbs slump a little. He takes a break, panting against the tree and realizing how parched he still is. He hadn't gotten any water. He licks his fingers clean, finding his knees buckling as he slowly sinks to the ground. Sluggishly, he thinks that this fatigue is so sudden and overtaking that it might have something to do with the sap he'd just guzzled like an idiot from the spooky vine tree that doesn't quite belong. He groans quietly, craving more of the sap, turning his head to look for more knots. He sees one, but his vision is blurry all of a sudden, and leaning towards it has him lurching precariously. He groans lowly as his vision dips and spins and he crashes into the ground. He wakes up later, unable to tell how long it's been, completely restrained. It takes him a moment to realize what it is, what the green cords wrapping around his wrists securely are. The vines had made their way down and had completely entangled Yoongi's body, and are now coiling around him, so slow and deliberate that Yoongi thinks it's a nest of snakes at first. He's panting shallowly, a strange heat in his body, making his heart pound. It throbs deep inside of him, and at first, he can't tell what it is. Then he feels a vine slither slowly by his cock, and he jolts, lips parting. His dick is achingly hard and noticeably stiff under his pants. That’s what the heat is.Vines slither around him in more purposeful action, wrapping around his waist and digging in tight, lifting him off the ground. More slither around his thighs, tipping him, raising him by his ass and venturing inside of his pants.Yoongi flushes completely, feeling the vines tangling in his clothes, sliding over his crotch and pressing tightly down over. A moan blooms in his throat without his permission, slow and deep and filling the quiet air. While his movements are sluggish, he’s strangely in tune with his body, like he can feel the sap seeping into his cells, slowing everything down. He can feel the licks of pleasure curl in him as the vines slither over his erection, eager for more. There's a strange moment where Yoongi has to come to terms with the fact that he's completely okay with these vines feeling him up while he lays in their scaly grip. He's never experimented with partners much, never played with bondage and restraint, but something about being so pinned down and letting the curious vines explore has heat growing inside of him without need for touch. But he has touch, coming from the vines themselves as they dive under the waist of his underwear, and he completely stiffens upon feeling them on his skin. They're textured just how he expects, but feeling it on his cock is a whole different story as the vines wrestle his pants off and slither along his chest, catching him completely off guard."Ah!" Yoongi twitches as they drag over his nipples, jaw going slack. He's always been particularly sensitive there and can't handle if- "hah!" he throws his head back a little, cheeks flushing as the vines curl tightly around his nipples, and he’s totally at their mercy.Larger vines slither by his face and he notices dimly, that they have several slits on the underside, leaking with the sap. With a low whine he opens his mouth a little, hoping it will come to his face, but it doesn’t.They pull his pants down completely, exposing his legs and boxers and Yoongi bites his lip, wondering if he should assist, but his arms are completely entangled in the vines, held tight. They seem to do just fine without him though, trickling down inside his boots and pushing them off, guiding his pants down and dragging his boxers over his hips. Yoongi looks the other way, flushing darkly as his erection springs free.Vines coil around it, exploring, gripping tight enough to make Yoongi whimper. He clenches his jaw to clip off the whine, a little worried about what's going to happen to it, before the vines all start moving. They tighten around his upper body, lifting him off of the ground and spreading his legs. Yoongi feels a little like he's going to fall, but the vines are strong enough to hold him right in place, exposing all of him to the open air.He suddenly feels pressure against his asshole, and his whole body twitches with a gasp. He can feel the wet, sticky syrup dripping down his ass from where the vine rubs, like it’s teasing him open bit by bit.The tentacle pushes against his rim with surprising force, and Yoongi cries out as his unprepared body resists. The vine thrashes, rubbing roughly against his pucker and finally, his ass gives, vine sliding in. Yoongi shudders, it's certainly been a while since he's had someone -something?- inside his body and he's definitely not used to the ache.He can feel the stretch burn hotly through him as he’s entered, the sweet pleasure as the vine draws out and slides back in again, working him open. A second one joins the first, squirming for entry against his rim, making Yoongi gasp out as they sink in together. His dick is flush against his belly, throbbing with pleasure from every movement, and Yoongi curses the damn sap for making him this way, making him so responsive. The vines fuck into him in alternating pace, and his nipples are squeezed, hard, making him moan lewdly, eyelids heavy as his thighs tense and relax. He’s succumbing to the pleasure, accepting that this is really what’s happening and that he badly wants it. More vines slither along the ground, sliding between his ass and rubbing over the flesh, eager to enter him. They rush in surprisingly quick, filling up every spot inside of him. More of them grind against his rim and seep in, filling him fast. His jaw goes slack again as he's quickly filled, his hips shivering slightly. The tentacles release his cock which makes him protest lowly, the vines wandering around his sensitive thighs and wrapping around tightly. They're forced apart to make room for all of the vines, and Yoongi very quickly feels stuffed to the brim. They start to push in as one big, ridged mass, and something leaks from Yoongi's ass, squelching and soaking wet. Yoongi's heart flips in shock before realizing it's the honey-gold liquid they secrete, being squirted into him and fucked right out. He groans low in his throat, cheeks hot at the squelching, slick sounds. The vines around Yoongi tighten and dimly he worries about his circulation getting cut off, but he's far too occupied to properly care. Gold slime coats the vines as they pump in and out of his ass, picking up speed. As they delve faster into him, pushing against his walls demandingly, his nipples are jerked with tugs, making him cry out.His cheeks flush so hot as he pants, letting himself be spread wide for the plants. Deliriously, Yoongi thinks that maybe this is what the forest is taking from him in return for all of the ingredients. Secretly, he knows that he's more than happy to give it.His hard cock hits against his thigh from the swaying motions of being suspended and fucked. He can feel it throb, knows it’s glistening with arousal. He badly wishes he could touch, and suddenly he struggles in the hold. He tugs helplessly at the vines and feels them give around one arm, finding he can lift and free it with ease.Yoongi does so quickly, eyes rolling back slightly from the relief as he grips his dick and squeezes. He strokes himself quick in rhythm to the fucking, eyebrows knitting together. While the vines drill into him he strokes his dick at his preferred angle, working the head with care. His chest rises and falls with fast pants, toes curling and uncurling at the waves of pleasure. The vines tug roughly at his nipples and he jerks, crying out a weak "fuck, ah," into the empty air. He flushes impossibly more from it, knowing he's alone and still feeling like he's being watched. He tries to drive it from his head, thumbing his slit and inhaling sharply, breath catching. It reminds him of how parched he is.His hand moves with a mind of its own, dropping down to the thick mass of vines pumping into his body. He groans in surprise, feeling the sheer mass of them entering him, and dips his fingers into the slime dripping from it. His hand comes away shimmery gold, and with a drunken moan, he puts his fingers into his mouth.Sugary-sweet honey drips from his lips, his fingers, smearing on his cheek and dripping on his chest as he licks it up from his hand. Where it lands on his skin, it tingles with heat, but he's far more absorbed in tasting it on his fingers.Thirsty for more, he drops his hand back down again, dragging his hand under where the vines enter him again and again. He moans thickly, licking his lips, collecting the golden fluids in his hand and bringing it up to his mouth. He licks the fluid down, and then drops his hand to smear it over his cock.Panting quickly, Yoongi bucks his hips. The vines seem more intent on keeping him in place, slithering around him. They squeeze his nipples again and he cries out loudly, pressing his hips up as he strokes himself. He can feel his orgasm approaching so fast, rolling in his gut and cresting with every thrust. He pants out roughly, smearing the golden sap over the head of his cock and slicking the rest of it. Jerking his dick in his slick hand, he reaches orgasm in just moments, his jaw dropping again.Moaning brokenly, he works his cock, his body lighting up from every angle. Every fuck into his ass stabs through his body, forcing weak little noises from his mouth, forcing his orgasm on and on before it properly fades and he's left writhing in the vines' tight grips. The vines suddenly slow, and Yoongi thinks he's being given mercy before the first swell starts. He sees it in the base of the vines, rolling along inside, the fibers tight as they hold the bursting mass of liquid. Watching with a thrill of fear, Yoongi anticipates honey. Instead he gets seeds.Hundreds of the tiny things pelt inside of his body as the vines squirt them. They hit his most sensitive spots, making him tremble more than before. They gush out from the slits in the vines, even on his chest where they brush against his nipples. The seeds catch on his skin, slick and clumping together. They’re the shape of tiny almonds, dark brown, coated in a clear, slippery sticky casings. They fill him so much it starts to hurt, and with all of the vines plugging his entrance, his body has no choice but to give way, his tummy rising just slightly with all of the seeds. He feels like he's going to burst like a balloon with all of the slimy seeds crushing right against his most sensitive areas. They fill his ass so full he can feel it trickle out around the vines and leak down the crevice of his ass. Drool mixed with golden sap leaks from his mouth as he lays open and slack, delirious with sensation. The vines slowly withdraw, and the seeds gush out of his body, sticking to his thighs and wetting the ground. They release him, red imprints left where they'd clutched him so tightly. None of his limbs are numb with blood loss, but he can tell there might be a bit of bruising. Yoongi slumps at the foot of the tree where they drop him, struggling to catch his breath just leaking all over the soil. His mind goes in slow circles, trying to accept what's just happened, how absurd and unbelievable. His ass twinges, sore and empty, and seeds gush out of him. Yoongi shivers, curling in on himself. He slowly grabs at his pants, his satchel, rolling onto his hip and moaning quietly as more seeds trickle out of his body. He's never encountered a plant with these kinds reproduction techniques, filling a creature with them and letting them carry them around? Yoongi’s never heard of it before. He reaches back gingerly, knowing he's still bursting with the seeds. He feels embarrassed about what happened, about how he let it happen, about the stupid sap that made him so horny. He's floundering through his satchel when he spots movement, and cold fear fills him. From between the trees appears a head, rough with dark fur and jaws parting with sharp, glistening teeth. It's the wolf that had been howling at his door, scratching furiously all those nights ago. It stalks towards Yoongi, green eyes blazing like torches. The alchemist pulls back, breathing getting heavier with every moment, clutching at the crystals hanging from his neck in sheer panic, not knowing what to do or how to respond. But then, the wolf stops before him, its entire form radiating the familiar green light. Yoongi shields his eyes, only partially seeing the transformation that occurs next. The light fades and he blinks slowly, his jaw dropping. Before him stands a man who looks straight out of an eighteenth century painting. He's got hints of muscle in his arms and legs, but an all around rosy, soft look to him. A broad chest and a soft, round stomach, sharp hip bones and wide thighs. His legs are long and wild with hair, and his feet are completely bare, toes curled into the soil. He's shrouded in moss that hugs his body so perfectly it could be growing off of him. It might be. His eyes are enormous, dark and wild, emerald green. His hair is earthy brown, spilling over his forehead in untameable locks. Growing from his hair are antlers, but as Yoongi stares they start to look more like tree branches wrapped in tangling ivy. A snail rests peacefully on one of the lower, shorter branches. A golden butterfly flutters on his wrist."I apologize for scaring you." He says, a mirth in his eyes that says he doesn’t quite mean it.Yoongi forces his jaw to close, forces his heart to beat normally. "You're- you're the specter. And the dog… Right?" he rasps."That's right." He says, his lips curving into a smile. He lifts his hand, the butterfly taking flight as he offers it to Yoongi instead. "Touch me."Yoongi blinks, but slowly reaches his hand up to tangle their fingers together. The moment their skin touches, the man’s cool fingers on Yoongi’s warm, energy shocks through him. Like a static charge, he jumps as it snaps to his bones, recoiling quickly. "What the hell-""I will explain if you come with me."Frustrated, Yoongi stares for a few seconds, but breaks down and quickly gets his clothes on. He pulls his boxers on quickly, deciding he'll just deal with the seeds later. He tugs his cargo pants on overtop of it, grateful that his shirt is still intact where it was coiled around his satchel. He pulls it on as well despite the heat, quickly realizing it might not have been the best idea. The sap from the vines stick his shirt right to his nipples. He handles his satchel more carefully, picking it up with his backpack which he slings over his shoulder. He looks at the spirit, finding something like amusement in his eyes."Who are you?" Yoongi asks finally."I'm not a person, you don't need to refer to me as such," His unfathomably deep voice cuts right through Yoongi. "But my name is Taehyung. I believe your people would call me... A forest spirit. Or a nymph. I was born from a tree.""Is this your... Spirit tree?" Yoongi asks, gesturing to the massive tree. He's never seen anything quite like it, hunched over with vines spilling in every direction."No. My first forest was destroyed by humans for their homes." Taehyung says. His tone is relaxed, his eyes ever so slightly narrowed, like he's looking for Yoongi's reaction. Naturally, Yoongi is disgusted by the destruction of so much pure life and potential, but he tries not to show it. "This tree," Taehyung continues. "I made him.""Oh... Well what was that shock?" Yoongi wants to know."Come," Taehyung says, his bare feet stepping through the soil as he walks around the tree. Yoongi follows, looking over its rich emerald trunk. The tree doesn't have bark, but rather a tough, scaly outer layer like the vines. They reach the back end of it, and Yoongi stops in surprise, grimacing. There's a small pile of bones forming a human's upper body - skull and rib cage. From beneath the ribs grows a pile of vines, right where...Dread sinks into Yoongi's own bones as he realizes that the placement isn't coincidence. His ass clenches a little as he touches his stomach, realizing that the seeds in him were planted there for a reason. "The shock was a neutralizer." Taehyung tilts his head, raising his eyebrows. "The seeds won't feed on your bones and blood and grow now.""This is how people go missing without a trace, isn't it?" Yoongi realizes. "You... You're haunting this forest.""Haunting?" Taehyung's face is amused, his grin wide and beautiful."Well... Protecting." Yoongi murmurs, more softly."Hmm." Taehyung's emerald eyes watch him closely. But he doesn’t understand. "Why me, after all you've done? Why do I get to live?""After the night I howled for you to leave and you still didn't, I decided it was time again to resort to extremes, with my vines and seeds," he murmurs, "so I led you through the forest to my tree, watching more closely than I ever had before, and what I saw was not a destructive human, but... A part of this forest."Yoongi goes a little soft, feeling a lick of pride deep inside."You were so gentle with my plants. Your biggest crime has been killing to eat, which is something a lot of my creatures do. So my howling and scarring and dragging was not necessary. I was only… Worried.""You were just trying to protect your home." Yoongi says, tilting his head. "I understand..."Taehyung nods, and moves away from him, making Yoongi start a little. "W-wait-"The spirit’s branched head slowly turns back to him, eyebrow raising.Yoongi swallows hard. "What about, uh... The seeds now?""Do you need help removing them?" Mischief lights up in Taehyung's eyes."Uh-what would that entail-""Do you want me to help?"Yoongi looks down as he feels vines start to creep up his ankle. "Were you c-controlling them from that tree-?""What would you like to think?" Taehyung's smirk stays in its place."I have n-no clue-""You know… You’re quite pretty, for a human-" Taehyung hums, coming closer, fingers sliding under Yoongi's chin. He can feel the vines creeping up along his legs, twining into his skin. "Are you scared, Yoongi?"Yoongi shakes his head, taking a deep breath. "No.""Fantastic," Taehyung purrs. The spirit's hand comes up and pushes Yoongi to the ground before the human can react. He falls into a bed of vines that curl around him again, slithering under his clothes and tugging at his skin. Taehyung crouches gracefully, fingers curling as vines bend under Yoongi’s pants and pull them down off of his body.Yoongi's still dripping, wet enough that when Taehyung's fingers come up to play against his rim, his body opens to him easily. The alchemist gasps, head rolling back as Taehyung's fingers slide in with the seeds, stretching him again. Yoongi can feel the vines slithering down his body to his belly, meeting Taehyung's fingers and pushing in with them.Taehyung goes right up to his prostate, making scooping motions that drag against it with every touch. The vines start their swaying, pumping motions like before, filling him up full so the seeds can seep out of him.Yoongi's moaning in no time, jaw slack with sensation, hips shivering and shaking. Then he feels a rough, damp tongue glide between the fingers and he tenses, face going a little hot. "T-tae-""I enjoy the taste as well, don't keep it all to yourself," Taehyung purrs, drawing his fingers out and sucking at his entrance.Yoongi yelps a little, mortified as the seeds gush out into the spirit's mouth. He’s so embarrassed by it, by knowing that Taehyung is doing this to him, but the sensation makes his dick throb with arousal anyways. He doesn't even know if he should be getting turned on from this, since Taehyung had treated it like he was just doing him a favor. He cranes his neck down, just in time to see him pull back and lick the glistening drops of sap from his fingers. It's such a stunning sight that Yoongi's brain checks out completely for a few moments.Taehyung's vines creep up again, slithering around and around Yoongi's cock and holding it so tight the human hisses.Taehyung stops, looking back up. "What hurts?""Too tight," Yoongi chokes out.The vines instantly loosen, stroking starting to tug more loosely at his length, and Yoongi moans, body arching."Tell me what's good," Taehyung says eagerly."That's good-" Yoongi says weakly. "You can squeeze a little, when you're pulling u- oh-" Yoongi swallows hard, "that's good... Do you... N-not have a?""What would I need one for?" Taehyung giggles, and Yoongi honestly can't tell if he's joking or not, but the pleasure is so good and he's too caught up in it to properly ponder the question.Gold drenched seeds wet the ground, vines hugging every bit of his body and milking Yoongi's cock as Taehyung stretches him open on his fingers. The alchemist groans out into the open air, hips bucking, fingernails digging into his palms."T-tae-""Hmm?" Taehyung licks his lips."F-faster- please-""Oh." Taehyung realizes, and then his vines start to move more urgently, kneading his cock and slithering around his balls. They push deep into his ass, invasively deep, but Yoongi can't find it in himself to complain, jaw dropping open wide.Sweat breaks out on his temples as he ruts his hips up desperately, Taehyung's fingers thrusting in with renewed strength, and Yoongi can feel his orgasm building deep inside, feel the chase as it starts. He lets out a low groan, fingers squeezing around scaly vines, his cock runny and slick as it’s stroked so fast. He cries out, arches his back as Taehyung digs into his prostate, and finally comes. His semen drips over the vines, making them writhe excitedly. Taehyung withdraws his fingers and Yoongi's tender body slumps, mouth open wide to catch his breath."Thank you..." He breathes."If you come across this plant again and find yourself in a, well, situation, again, just call for me." He smirks softly.Yoongi flushes at the idea of coming back for more, putting that away for later consideration. "Thanks.""Or if you find yourself in any other situations." Taehyung murmurs, licking his fingers again and turning away to the woods.Yoongi slowly sits up, a bit achy and sobered with the realization Taehyung is leaving. But with his offer comes the promise of seeing each other again. It's his forest and Yoongi's home, after all. He watches in wonder as Taehyung gives him one last look and steps into the dense forest, disappearing right into a shower of leaves. The vines around Yoongi still, hugging him loosely enough that he can easily disentangle himself. The forest is so damn quiet, back to its natural peace and serenity.Yoongi swallows thickly. “Taehyung?” He calls softly. The forest is quiet, still. For a moment, his heart clenches, but then all of a sudden, the wind gusts powerful enough to shake the trees above. The gusts blow away the sickeningly sweet smell of the sap, giving Yoongi a breath full of forest, earth and rich. A shower of leaves flutter down around him from the canopy, a few landing in his hair. Slowly, Yoongi smiles. He collects his things, pulling his clothes back on a second time and slowly making his way back home. He takes the time to lay out his collected ingredients, check on his potions, and change his clothes. He lays down and thinks of Taehyung, of how spent his body feels, and breathes deeply. He stays in his shack, with his alchemy stewing and ferns waving and bed cozy. He profits off of his potent potions and the forest thrives, sings, lives through summer and into winter. He is no longer haunted by specters or attacked by wolves. He is, however, visited quite often by the vines. But from those visits, he has no fear, nor complaints.
