Gardens; they were always so enchanting. Their was something special and unique about them that when you were small and lived with your grandmother, you grew fascinated about them.
Your grandmother was so intent on keeping hers clean and well decorated. She never told you why and figured that maybe secrets exist within the imagination. But when she passed, you made a promise. And to this day now that you are older and wiser, you still keep up to that promise.
You lived alone in a small cottage in the woods. It was secluded but not far enough away from town.
You had a garden of your own. A promise you well kept and intended to keep it nice and refreshing. Birdhouses varying in sizes and colors decorated the trees that were held in your vast garden. Miniature houses were spread out evenly throughout your garden and a giant pond that settled in the middle gave off as if it was small neighborhood. In some parts, like near the birdbath, you had a small feast plate as if offering something an offering. Every day and every night before you went to sleep, you always made sure it was well protected and well lit.
And as soon as you went to sleep, the fairies came out to play. They loved your garden. The houses were warm and just the right size. The water from the pond was refreshing and cool. The food laid out on the table was a delight. Some of them were highly impressed that a mere mortal could take such high priority in a garden. But every morning when you awoke, the fairies disappeared.
Every day when you found the food empty and to be gone, nothing really crossed your mind. But, there was still a 'What if?' lingering into the back of your mind.
Fairies don't feel emotions like the way humans do, but, every night a certain fairy was drawn to you.
And sometimes, he would even break his own code just to be invisible to stay by your side.
You were oblivious and he would find humor in that. That he was right there and you didn't even know it.
His laugh was almost caught by you one day, but he hid quickly behind a jar. It was like a shiver raced down your spine as if someone or something was watching you. When you turned around there wasn't anything or anyone. So you shrugged it off and resumed back to what you were doing in the kitchen.
That had gone on for awhile.
One night while you were about to get into bed, you saw something in your peripheral vision. It happened so quickly. It was like he wanted to be seen. Quickly as he showed himself, the quicker he left.
But, he wanted to be known to you.
He had an agenda of his own.
He didn't mean to scare you at first.
But when he did appear in front of you; you were more in awe than anything. Asking if this was real or just a dream?
It was very much real.

"What's your name?" you asked curiously at the small being in floating in front of your face. You guessed that calling him 'fairy' would be rude.

"Jimin." he said with a prideful smile. "Park Jimin."
He wore an elegant silk attire. Varying in pretty hues of greens and blues. His fairy wings glowed and shimmered. "What's yours?" he asked.
You returned the smile. "Y/n."

After that night, he always broke the code to come see you. You were falling in love with him.
But, one day while you tended to the garden, A fairy king came to take Jimin away. Sprouting about that Jimin won't ever belong to you; that you're just a mortal. That you were inferior to the fairy kind and that Jimin disobeyed his ethics for selfish personal reasons risking the fairy world and the king was not having that. And in that night, Jimin was escorted back to the Fairy World. Leaving you alone in your dark garden.
Even though Jimin never returned, his friends did. They often came to visit you even during the day risking their ethics just to talk to you. You were now important to them and they hated to see you cry. You denied ever crying, but his friends saw right through you. They told you that Jimin wanted to be with you and almost try not to laugh because you were humiliated. But, Jimin had plans to see you again, you just didn't know when and neither did he. His friends mentioned that you shouldn't lose hope because Jimin needed hope more than anything.
You were going to ask why but it started to rain and they had to quickly get back before anyone found out.
On the night of the full moon, you went back to your garden. There in the darkness under your willow tree was a door.
A 'What if?' popped into your mind and suddenly, you were whisked away into the door falling into the depths of the tree. But unbeknownst to you, it sealed the moment you entered.
