Jiang Wanyin woke up to the sound of water pouring out from something. It was loud enough to wake him up but he quickly drifted again when the sound disappeared, leaving only quiet sounds of droplets falling down to the ground. When the loud sound returned, he blinked his eyes multiple times and felt the warmness around him. He drifted his eyes towards his hands, they were soaked and underwater of something that looked like a barrel. He wondered where he was but the hands on his head were soothing and gentle on his skin that it almost made him fall back to sleep.“Wanyin, did I wake you up?”The voice was deep and quiet as if trying to not wake him up from his sleep. But, where was he again? He grunted and shifted his head to see the person who was holding his head all this time. The pressure the fingers gave to his skin felt good against his stiff muscles. It made his head felt lighter and neck more relaxed.“Mmm, did I fall asleep?”Jiang Wanyin asked; a yawn was catching up on him as he looked around the room. The robes on his body were completely gone but his body felt clean like it had been washed. What happened again?“You did, Wanyin. Are you feeling better now?”Lan Xichen asked and giggled when he saw the man in his hands were so defenseless. It was a rare treat for him to see his husband in this way that he tried to savor every moment of it slowly. He wanted this moment to last for the whole night.“Xichen, did I fall asleep while bathing?”Lan Xichen smiled at the question and lowered himself to kiss those lips. He giggled after they parted their lips because he still couldn’t get over the question his lover had just asked him.So, he hummed in replied before his lips kissed Wanyin’s forehead and his hands stopped moving.“Are you feeling cold, my love?”The man in the barrel moved again and this time he was facing him.“Shameless,” Jiang Wanyin said, trying to cover the yawn that came after. “I don’t like those names.”Lan Xichen could only smile and pulled his husband out of the water. He shivered without the warmness around him but it was over when he was covered immediately by a thick robe.“You should wake me up when I fall asleep,” another yawn interrupted him again. “I don’t want to drown in my sleep.”The husband hummed as he wiped his lover’s body dry from head to toe. After he was done with the now soaked robe, he exchanged it to their sleeping garments and wore it on him. He giggled again when he looked at his husband closed eyes, totally falling asleep standing like this.Lan Xichen placed one of his hands on his beloved’s back and another on the thighs before pulling him up off the ground. The movement startled Jiang Wanyin as he scrambled to grab his husband’s robes, afraid that he would fall down.“Tell me before you do that!” He was scolded, but it didn’t last long until his eyes started tearing up from all the yawns he had. “You gave a heart attack just now, Lan Xichen.”He only smiled and pressed his mouth on his husband’s forehead while whispering his apology to the sleepy man.“Tell me about your day. We didn’t get to talk much and now, I’m falling asleep,” Jiang Wanyin said; his hands had moved to his husband’s neck. “Talk to me before I fall asleep.”Lan Xichen nodded and started telling off his day to his beloved husband. Starting from his short travel, teaching the disciples, and taking care of the sect’s business but he knew it wasn’t anything compared to what his husband had gone through every day. It really showed when his husband always returned tired, sometimes even exhausted.Yet, there was never a word of complaint coming out from their mouths when they were together. It was a rule they followed to never talk about business when they were together in their private time, and he loved it. Lan Xichen loved spoiling his husband like this though it was rare. When they got to their bed, Lan Xichen gently lied his sleepy husband down. Jiang Wanyin’s eyes were already closed and his breathing steadied; it was almost like he was already in a deep sleep. He also climbed up the bed and covered them both with the thick blankets. Though winter in Yunmeng was never as cold as in Gusu, the weather was still colder than usual.Lan Xichen hoped that he could see the first snow with his husband in the morning since this was their first day off together after a long and busy time.“You’re so warm.”He hummed in response, pulling his husband closer to him and wrapped him with his arms.“Tomorrow,” Jiang Wanyin started but again interrupted by the persistent yawn. “Tell me your day again tomorrow, Huan-ge. Good night.”Lan Xichen smiled at his husband’s cuteness. He had heard how hard his husband’s day was from the servants but not a word came out when they were together.“Good night, A-Cheng,” a kissed on his husband’s forehead.“I love you.”
