Order of the Phoenix Headquarters
The members of the Order of the Phoenix were sitting around the kitchen table at 12 Grimmauld Place, discussing what they were going to do with the Voldemort situation. Ever since Angel Potter vanished three years ago in her Fourth Year, the Dark Lord had become bolder. No one had seen the girl since then and eventually she had been declared dead. It was after that when Dumbledore tried to access her vaults as her magical guardian. To his surprise, the Goblins told him that all the vaults that belonged to Angel Potter were under lockdown until she came back. When he mentioned that she was dead, the Goblins all but laughed at him.“We have to find Angel Potter,” Hestia Jones called out.Dumbledore nodded his head thoughtfully “Indeed. But no one has seen the girl in years.”“We can’t just rely on the brat,” Molly Weasley huffed, crossing her arms “She abandoned us and now the girl is hiding like a coward.”Sirius glared at her “Don’t talk about my goddaughter like that. She is no coward. I’m sure there is a pretty good explanation for her disappearance.”“She’s gone Dark,” Hestia shrugged “Maybe she joined You-Know-Who when he came back.”To the surprise of most members, it was Severus Snape who shook his head “The Dark Lord would have gloated if he had Potter on his side. I think we should accept that she’s dead and move on.” A few months after Angel’s disappearance, the Potions Master had overheard a conversation between the Headmaster and Minister Fudge that only made sense when he overheard the two Marauders talking after an Order meeting.
Flashback
Most of the Order members had already left when Sirius and Remus had retreated to a room out of the way, talking amongst themselves quietly “Do you think Dumbledore knew?” Remus murmured quietly.
Sirius sank onto the couch, burying his face in his hands “I’m almost sure he did,” he answered “Remember how he always insisted Angel go back to her relatives? She could have stayed with the Weasleys or with you but he always sent her back to… those people.”
Snape had frozen on his way past the door, frowning in confusion. He had only wanted to go to the bathroom when the door opened a crack. What were the two of them talking about? Potters relatives worshipped her, didn’t they? At least, that’s what Dumbledore had told him before the girl started Hogwarts. His mind flashed back to the conversation he overheard the other day. The Minister had demanded to know why Dumbledore hadn’t made sure that ‘they’ were doing a good job. At that time, he thought they were talking about something else concerning the Tournament but now that he was thinking about it. The Potions Master pushed the door open a little further, catching the attention of the two men inside “What did they do?”
“What is it to you?” Sirius demanded, no small amount of hostility to his voice “Don’t act as if you care about Angel now. You never…”
“Oh, for Merlin’s sake, mutt,” Severus rolled his eyes “I have a suspicion but I need to know what the Dursleys did.”
Remus studied the Potions Master for a short moment before he sighed “Those bastards abused Angel. And I mean full out abuse. They beat her, starved her and she was doing all their housework for them.” The werewolf paused “Would you care to share this… suspicion?”
“Just… Don’t tell the Headmaster that I told you any of this. He doesn’t know but I overheard him and Fudge talking about people not doing their job. The Headmaster assured the Minister that he was sure they were doing as he told them,” Snape rubbed at his temples. How could he have missed the signs? They were obvious now that he thought about it. Potter had always been shorter than her peers and the clothes she wore outside of class… The Potions Master shook his head, trying to get back to the topic at hand “I believe they also mentioned something about a marriage contract. But I could have misheard.”
Sirius blinked “That…”
“Calm down, Padfoot,” Remus murmured, his hand on Sirius’ shoulder. The werewolf himself was barely holding himself back from ripping Dumbledore and the Minister to shreds “Thank you, Severus.”
Snape inclined his head “May I ask… Do you know anything about Potter’s whereabouts?”
“No,” the Black Lord muttered “She isn’t dead. I can feel it… But what if Voldemort has her?”
The ex-Death Eater turned spy flinched as the mention of the name sent a painful twinge through his mark "I don't know much but I believe that something happened in the Graveyard. Some Death Eaters were talking after a meeting and apparently, Potter vanished after duelling the Dark Lord. I haven't said anything because the Death Eaters in question weren't the most trustworthy."
“Vanished how?”
“Just… there one moment and gone the next,” Snape shrugged.
End Flashback
“The Goblins were very clear on that matter,” the Headmaster argued “Angel Potter is still alive.”“But then where is she?”Dumbledore frowned at the people around him “I’m afraid I don’t know.”Tonks rolled her eyes “You’ve been saying that for three years, Headmaster. The Minister sent the Aurors out to search for her. Don’t you think she would have been found if she were alive?” She was part of the group within the Order who questioned Dumbledore. While the young Auror hadn’t known the Potter girl personally, she became disillusioned by the Headmaster after he decided to do nothing against the increase of Death Eater attacks.“Nymphadora,” the old man chided with his typical grandfatherly tone “I’m sure that we will find Miss Potter soon.“What is this about, Angel?” Elijah questioned, settling in the armchair. As soon as Niklaus and Angel had returned from their honeymoon – a couple of weeks earlier than they had intended – the younger girl had immediately called a family meeting. Ever since Death had appeared in her dreams, the whole thing had been on her mind constantly. Enough so that Klaus decided to take his wife home early. Angel sank onto one of the couches, looking around at all the people gathered around here. The Salvatore brothers were on the floor in front of the couch holding Rebekah and Caroline, while Kol and Bonnie were on the third couch with Sage in Finn’s lap on the second armchair. The Mistress of Death rubbed at her head and looked at Kol “I – I had a dream about Death,” she sighed “He told me to go back to Hogwarts. Some shit about it being fated…”“He asked you to go back and fight,” Kol murmured with a small frown.“Yeah,” the red-haired girl nodded “Nik and I discussed this. I can bring some people, so I thought… Kol, Bonnie, do you want to come?”Bonnie tilted her head in surprise “Me?”“Well, I was thinking you might be interested in seeing what the Wizarding World was like and since Kol is the protector…” Angel spoke up “You don’t have to come… It was just an idea.”The nature witch squealed happily, throwing herself at Angel “I would love to come. Thank you, thank you…”Niklaus rolled his eyes at the two girls who were basically sprawled across his lap now “From what Angel tells me… It’s not going to be a nice vacation.”“Definitely not,” Angel grumbled, patting Bonnie’s back “Could you get off me?”“Sorry,” the other witch laughed. It was then that Elijah cleared his throat “Is it really a good idea to let Kol and Niklaus go with you?”“Oi?” Kol huffed, crossing his arms.“Well, he is right,” Rebekah pointed out “I doubt anyone is safe from your wrath… Angel, don’t take them.”Angel looked from her husband to Kol with an amused smile “They are coming… But Elijah? If you’d be willing to try and keep them in line…?”“Why about me?” Damon frowned “You really think I want you to go without me?”She looked at the others “I really don’t want any of you in danger… There’s bound to be attempts on lives – most likely mine. And Damon, you have Rebekah. I don’t know how long we’ll be and it would be unfair to just go.”Kol made a noise in the back of his throat “Yeah. There’s no way that Bekah is going there. From what Death told me… No way.”“Angel actually wanted to go alone,” Klaus rolled his eyes “Trust me, just accept and shut up about it before her stubbornness comes out again.”“Shut up, Nik,” Angel hissed, poking his side in annoyance.“I would be honoured to come,” Elijah nodded, cutting in.Angel looked at the others “I’m really sorry.”“Don’t worry about it,” Sage shook her head “While I don’t know a lot about your world… I think we can all agree that we should trust your assessment.” She shot a look at Damon “Right?”“Yes, yes,” the older Salvatore huffed, resting his head on Rebekah’s lap with a pout.It was almost a week later when the group of five were standing in a clearing not too far from the Mikaelson Mansion. Angel hadn’t wanted to be too close to the house in case something happened and the others agreed. Klaus had told her to take Hero with them but since Angel still had Hedwig over there – and she was sure that the Snowy Owl was still around – she didn’t think that Hero needed to come.“So,” the Mistress of Death drawled, looking around before her eyes stopped on Kol “How the hell do I do this?”Kol shrugged “Just call him. He’s bound to respond in one way or another.”“And what? Just say Death, come here, I need you?” Angel questioned sarcastically, jumping when the familiar dark cloaked figure appeared directly beside her “Holy shit. Don’t do that.” Klaus and Kol couldn’t stop laughing, while Bonnie and Elijah tried to hide their grins from the witch “Stop laughing… Assholes.”“Are you ready to go, Mistress?” Death questioned, ignoring the two Originals who were desperately trying to hold each other up.Angel grimaced “Don’t call me that. Please…”"But you are my Mistress," the figure pointed out matter-of-factly.“Just call me Angel?”Death tilted his dead “I will try… Angel. Are you ready to go?”“Do I really have to go back?” the girl sighed, shifting uncomfortably. By then, Klaus had stopped laughing and wrapped his arms around his wife.“I’m afraid so.”The red-haired girl closed her eyes for a moment “Okay… Just as a warning. I’m taking the books with me. If the events are the same, it’ll get us home faster.”Death looked ready to argue but stopped short. It actually was a good idea. He didn’t want his Mistress to have to go back to the world that caused her that much grief but… It wasn’t up to him “Ready?”“Yeah,” Angel nodded, closing her eyes when she felt a strange sensation wash over her.
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
A bright light spread over the Quidditch pitch, unnoticed by the inhabitants of the castle who were inside the Great Hall, eating dinner. When the light faded, a group of five had appeared “Urgh,” Bonnie groaned, dropping her head to the ground.Angel’s lips twitched as she looked down at the others who were in varying states on the ground or – in Elijah’s case – almost on the ground “This isn’t nearly as bad as a Portkey.”“Then I really don’t want to experience one of these ‘Portkeys’,” Elijah murmured, straightening his suit with a small grimace.Klaus looked up when he heard Angel’s heart beat faster “Are you alright, love?”“Yeah,” the red-haired girl nodded quickly, ignoring the unconvinced looks of her family. She was staring up at the castle with a soft smile on her face. No matter how bad her Hogwarts years had been, she still saw the castle as her home. It was the first place where she really felt like she was worth something… At least for a little while.Kol glanced at Angel. He was probably the only one who remotely understood what she was feeling. Death had told him as much as he could, making sure to inform the Original of what the girl had gone through and what she had lost. Despite that, he couldn’t imagine going back to the place that both saved and hurt you “Shall we?”“I take it we’re making a scene?” Bonnie spoke up, raising her eyebrow at her friend.“No,” Angel shook her head “We have to get out of here before anyone notices that we’re here.”Kol raised his eyebrows “I thought you’d want them to…” His expression changed when he realised what she was thinking “Oh. Never mind.”Elijah cleared his throat, drawing the attention to him “I wonder how long you’ve been gone.”The Mistress of Death hummed, pulling out her wand “Tempus,” she muttered, twirling the Elder wand with a twist of her wrist “20th of September 1997. Around seven pm. I’ve been gone for around two and a half years… That means that I’m older than I should be.”“What do you mean?” Bonnie frowned.“I was born on the 31st of July 1980,” Angel shrugged “I should be seventeen but I’m eighteen.”Klaus wrapped his arm around his wife’s waist “Do you think that’s going to be a problem? Since you’re supposed to be underage?”“Doubtful,” she hummed “In the Wizarding World you’re an adult at seventeen and I think the Goblins have pretty accurate rituals that tell them exactly how old I am.”“Can we go now?” Kol pouted, shifting in place. He couldn’t wait to get away from here. The surroundings weren’t that impressive. After all, he had been here before. It was boring and he definitely needed some action soon or the Original would go crazy.Elijah sighed, rubbing at the bridge of his nose “Kol, behave.”“Has that ever worked before?” Klaus snorted before glancing at his younger brother “I don’t think so…”“Oi,” Kol exclaimed.Bonnie leaned over to Angel “They’re such children,” she whispered, causing Angel to cough in amusement while the vampires glared at the two witches.“Shall we?” Elijah spoke up after a few moments of silence. The Mistress of Death took a deep breath before she nodded “Yeah. Let’s get out of here.” She led the group up the path to the Forbidden Forest. There was one way out from the grounds that she knew. One where they wouldn’t be detected. Angel was grateful for the map she had gotten from the Weasley twins. It showed a secret passage that went from the Forest down under the lake and into Hogsmeade. The faint outline of Hagrid’s hut caused another smile to creep over Angel’s face. He must not be in the Great Hall today since it was dinner time and the light in the hut was burning brightly. She had missed the half-giant. While there weren’t many people she actually missed from her old life, Hagrid had been on top of the list with Sirius and Remus.“Who lives there?” Kol questioned, pointing to the hut “I’ve seen it while I was dead.”“The Groundskeeper,” Angel replied “Hagrid is awesome. I’ll introduce you to him one of these days… He’s the one who gave me my Hogwarts letter when I was eleven.” A laugh escaped her “Well, that and he gave my cousin a pig’s tail.”The youngest Original whirled around to face me “You mean that actually happened?”The red-haired girl nodded “Yup. Most of the things from the first four books happened. It’s only the stuff after that I don’t know about.”“So… You’re not going to name your child Albus Severus?” Kol teased.Bonnie shook her head at her boyfriend while Angel glared at him “That’s never going to happen. One, I doubt I’ll ever have children and two, I’m pretty sure that it wasn’t my idea… Or Harry’s idea. I personally don’t get along with Snape and Dumbledore isn’t really someone I’d want to name my child after either.”“Why not? He seemed alright in the books,” Bonnie murmured.“That’s just the thing,” Angel grumbled “Look, I guess he was alright to some extent but he left me with abusive relatives and ignored me whenever I begged him to let me stay somewhere else. He also knew that my godfather was innocent and did nothing about it… Maybe he’s alright to others but sadly I’m not just anybody, am I?”Klaus wrapped his arm around Angel’s waist, pulling her closer to his side “It’s going to be alright, love. He’s not going to do anything.”“I’m not so sure,” Angel sighed and started looking around with a small frown “Now, where was it…”“What are we looking for?” Bonnie asked, tilting her head. This Forest was giving her the creeps. It was almost like it was alive and almost bursting with magic. The castle was the same but the energy emitting from it was a lot lighter, not as oppressive as this.Angel walked around the clearing, her hands trailing over the trees as she passed. Once she found what she was looking for, she let out a noise of triumph “Got it. Come on.”“Secret passageways?” Kol spoke up, doubtfully “Very… cliché.”“Says the vampire,” Angel shot back “What did you expect from a school of magic that is called Hogwarts?”Kol opened his mouth to answer when he stopped “Fair point.”Klaus grabbed Angel’s arm when she stumbled over a root “Careful, love.”“I will never understand how you can be this clumsy,” Bonnie snorted, shaking her head at Angel “You were always tripping over things for as long as I’ve known you.”“Yeah, well,” Angel mumbled “I’m better on a broom.”Bonnie froze, her mouth dropping open “You – You actually fly on a broom? Will you show me? Holy crap… I just realised that I can try all of the things I have wanted to since I read the Harry Potter books.”“I’m scared all of a sudden,” Angel laughed before throwing her arm around her shoulders “I’m sure we can make a list of things. Now, shh. All of you. I need to concentrate.”“Why?”“Because it’s been over ten years since I’ve last been in this forest,” she grumbled “And I’ve never actually used this passage. I only heard about it from the Weasley twins before.”Bonnie looked at her sceptically “And you’re sure we won’t get eaten?”“Reasonably,” Angel gave back.“Reasonably?” Bonnie screeched “Reasonably?”Kol snorted, patting her shoulder “Calm down, darling. You forget that we’re Originals.”“Oh… Right,” Bonnie mumbled, blushing at the look Kol sent her “Shut up.”“I’m not saying anything,” Kol defended himself.“But you’re thinking it.”Elijah sighed quietly “Kids… Can’t we just get going before someone notices us?”“Too late,” Klaus breathed, staring off through the trees. His eyes were narrowed on a spot way before the source of the noise became visible.Angel’s face lit up “Firenze,” she exclaimed, remembering the centaur that helped her in her first year.“Angel Potter,” the centaur greeted, his eyes glued to the sky “Mercury told us that you would be coming back.”“Hm,” Angel hummed “So, do you by any chance know where the passage to town is?”Firenze’s eyes glistened in the light of the moon “Follow me, Angel Potter.”They walked in silence for a moment before Angel turned to look up at the centaur “Is Mars still bright?”“Oh, it has been for the past years,” Firenze agreed, carefully stepping over branches and rocks “But Pluto had made itself known.”Klaus looked from Angel to the centaur in confusion “What are you talking about?”“This is where I’ll leave you,” Firenze inclined his head, gesturing to the tree “Good luck in your endeavour.”“We’ll need it,” Angel mumbled into her non-existent beard “Thank you, Firenze.”“What was that about?” Klaus asked curiously, watching the centaur disappear back into the trees.Angel shrugged “Centaurs. Mercury stands for transmitting information, you know… Like the Roman god Mercury? Mars is war – Ares in Greek and Pluto…”“Death,” Bonnie cut in.“Yes and no,” Angel disagreed, tugging her hair behind her ear “Pluto is the God of death but it can also stand for transformation and power… Though how I know that, I don’t know. Maybe Divinations was good for something. Even if Trelawney was a bloody crook.”Klaus wrapped his arm around Angel’s waist, chuckling lightly “Sometimes I forget that you were British, little Red.”“Yeah, I really don’t have the accent anymore, do I?” Angel sighed sadly “I kinda miss it…”
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
“So what now?“ Bonnie asked, looking around the busy alley curiously. She wanted to go and explore everything she read about but she recognized that they had to do business first. No matter how boring it might get. Then again, with Angel and the Originals things rarely got boring.Angel ran her hand through her hair and sighed “Gringotts first. Then we can look around if you guys want. But we really should get a head start on the Horcruxes. The cup, then we check Grimmauld Place – Or rather call Kreacher. After that… I guess we’ll see.”“You’re the boss, boss,” Kol grinned, throwing his arm around his sister-in-law’s shoulders.“Go screw yourself, Kol,” Angel snorted jokingly, shaking her head “And please… For the love of Death, don’t antagonize the goblins. It won’t end well.”Kol grimaced “Yeah, I heard. Although, I suppose it would be interesting to see what they…”“No,” Angel and Elijah chorused, glaring at Kol.Kol raised his hands in surrender “Alright, alright. Calm down. No antagonising goblins. Got it.” He huffed and crossed his arms when he saw Niklaus trying to hide his smile “Shut up, Nik.”“I didn’t say anything,” Klaus grinned.“You didn’t have to,” Kol grumbled “Your face already tells me everything I need to know…”“My face?” Klaus repeated in amusement “What are you? Five?”Angel patted her husband’s shoulder, her eyes catching the glinting of her wedding band. She was constantly thinking about their wedding whenever she saw the ring. It had been a beautiful day that would be forever in her memory. Not only because her whole family had been together but because they had all gotten along and everything was peaceful for once.
She was standing in front of the mirror, looking at herself in the wedding dress that she had chosen with the help of her aunt and her friends. The dress was the typical wedding dress white with a lacy mermaid style body that flared out into layer of tulle at the hips. She ran her hands down her stomach, smoothing out the dress while Rebekah was finishing her hair “Is it weird that I’m not nervous?”
“I don’t think so,” Rebekah shrugged “I mean, you love Nik, right? So there’s no reason to be nervous.” The female Original was working on a half-up half-down style with an elegant Celtic knot that was being held in place with three white lilies “What do you think?”
“Woah,” the red-haired girl smiled taking in the knot “How the hell did you do that?”
Rebekah smirked “It’s a talent. Now, I think your wedding is about to start.” She held out her arm for her almost sister-in-law to take “Shall we?” Outside the door, the two girls met with Jeremy who was the one who would be walking Angel down the aisle. It hadn’t been an easy decision between her Uncle John and Jeremy but in the end, she went with her brother. He had always been there for her and protected her even if he didn’t have to.
Jeremy smiled at his older sister and pulled her into a hug “You look amazing, Angel. Are you ready to get married?”
“More than ready,” Angel nodded, taking a deep breath. She wasn’t nervous when it came to the wedding. The only thing that she was slightly scared of was that she would mess up somehow and embarrass herself in front of her family and friends. She took a hold of Jeremy’s arm, watching as Rebekah slipped into the hall before them.
“Are you sure you don’t want me to help you escape?” Jeremy joked as the music started playing.
The eighteen-year-old rolled her eyes with a small smile playing on her lips “I’m very sure… And Jay? Thank you so much.”
“You’re more than welcome,” the boy whispered, stepping forward “I’m just sad that Dad isn’t here for this.”
“So am I,” Angel agreed, forcing back the tears. This was a happy moment. There was no time for tears right now. As soon as the two entered the hall, Angel could see Klaus standing at the altar, wearing a black suit with a white shirt and a dark grey tie. She smiled lightly, seeing the love in his eyes as she neared.
Jeremy walked his sister all the way down the aisle, stepping back when they reached the husband-to-be “Good luck,” he breathed, making his way towards his seat.
Everyone sat and watched as Angel and Klaus exchanged vows and said their ‘I do’s’, ending the official part of the ceremony with their first kiss as a married couple. Shortly after the pictures were taken, the party headed back to the Mikaelson Mansion where the reception would be held. The house looked even greater than it had for the Ball the Original witch had held a couple of months prior and all the guests enjoyed the gathering. Rebekah and Caroline had been the main contributors to the theme of the decorations and they certainly made the right choices. While everything had been dripping in gold before, now the theme was lights. There were thousands of little lights strung up, giving the room a brighter gleam. The table decorations were glowing white roses in a thin, cone shape vase.
Klaus took Angel by the hand and smoothly lead her into their first dance as the music started “I love you, Angel. Despite everything that happened in the last few months, I couldn’t be happier to be where we are now.”
“I love you too, Nik,” she smiled, leaning her head against his shoulder “Before I met you, I never would have thought that I would get married and look at me now.”
“Hm,” he hummed, capturing her lips with his “Are you ready for our honeymoon?”
Angel nodded lightly “Yeah. I’ve never been to Paris before.”
“I’m sure you’ll love it,” the Hybrid told her “Paris is lovely, especially in the Winter.”
“It does help that it’s the City of Love, does it not?” the red-haired girl laughed.
The dance ended and before the married couple could exit the dance floor, they were swept into another dance. Rebekah had snagged Klaus, while Damon was dancing with Angel. The bride sighed, knowing that her chance to escape was gone and she would be forced to dance with her whole family before the night was over.
Angel shook herself out of her thoughts and smirked at Kol “Five is too mature for him. He’s four at the most.”“Hey,” Kol exclaimed, drawing the attention of the people around them “I’m not immature.”Bonnie pressed a kiss to his cheek “Face it, love. You are.”“What is this?” Kol asked in annoyance “’Gang up on Kol day’?”Klaus shrugged “Best idea I heard so far.”“I hate you.”Angel walked up the steps leading to the bank and bowed her head to the goblins guards at the door. Elijah and the rest of their family followed suit as they continued into the bank silently. Not even Kol was talking which was very unusual for him. Apparently, he had taken the promise to heart and made an effort to not mess with the goblins. If that meant he was quiet, who was Elijah to complain. It did sort of worry him a little though. Kol being silent usually meant he was planning something and whatever it was, Elijah hoped he would refrain. Then again, it was Kol they were talking about after all.“I would like to speak to my account manager,” Angel stated once she reached one of the tellers. The goblin barely glanced up “Name?”“Angel Potter,” she replied, her voice low. There weren’t many people in the bank, so it was easy to keep everyone from hearing her.The goblin let out a snort “Yeah? We get people claiming to be the Girl-Who-Lived almost weekly at this point. Try something else. Now, name?”A small smile played around Angel’s lips “Well… One, I hate that bloody title,” she mumbled “And two, I am willing to do a blood test to prove that I am actually me.”“I want the fee paid upfront,” the goblin said immediately. She wasn’t the first one to try a blood test either. Why wizards thought they would be able to cheat the test, he didn’t know. Well, more business for them because whenever someone’s claim was proven false, there were serious consequences. The Ministry had tried to intervene and that idiot Fudge had tried more than once to get his hands onto Angel Potter’s assets because of the marriage contract that was standing between his son and the girl.Angel shrugged and handed over her credit card. Death had assured her that they would be able to use their assets as normal, so hopefully this worked. If not then she knew where she could get money from. She had asked the twins to hide away a small fortune for her. Originally, it had been because she wanted to run away but thankfully she hadn’t needed it.The goblin sneered at the piece of plastic and muttered something under his breath that made the vampires bristle. Angel just shook her head, the smile still on her face. She was used to the goblins and reading about them had helped her put things into perspective. She respected them a whole lot more now than she did after her First Year “This will do,” he nodded grudgingly and handed the card back “Now, follow Griphook. He will take you to Bloodthorne, the account manager for the Potter Vaults.”“Thank you,” Angel bowed “May your enemies tremble before you.”“And may your business always be fruitful,” the goblin gave back automatically, surprise written on his face.“What was that?” Bonnie whispered “And why did he look surprised?”Angel shrugged “Wizards and Witches are assholes. Most of them treat everything not human like the dirt that is at the bottom of their shoes. Then again, I might have gotten that from Fanfiction, so I wasn’t sure whether it would actually work.”Kol snorted “You read that stuff?”“It was interesting,” Angel defended herself, trying to ignore Griphook’s puzzled frown “Though why people seem to think I would shag Snape or Malfoy, I don’t know. And don’t even get me started on those ‘Tomarry’ pairings.” She shuddered “Sometimes the internet scares me.”“Only sometimes?” Klaus asked amused. He had heard Angel complaining about Fanfiction and on more than one occasion had gotten to listen to a rant.Angel huffed and reached over to interlace their fingers “Okay, most of the time. I don’t even know how people come up with that.”Griphook knocked on a door, pushing it open “Here they are.”Bloodthorn looked up from the papers on his desk and studied the newcomers. He had heard that there was another one claiming to be Lady Potter and if he was honest with himself, he was sick of it “Thank you, Griphook. You may leave.”“Thank you, Griphook,” Angel smiled at the goblin “It’s a pleasure to meet you, Bloodthorn.”Bloodthorn narrowed his eyes on the girl. She did look like the Potter girl but so had some of the others. Whether they went the muggle route to dye their hair or change it magically “Prick your finger and let three drops fall into this bowl,” he told her, pushing a knife towards the other side of the desk.Angel snorted quietly and picked up the knife. She made a small cut on her thumb and quickly squeezed out three drops “There you go,” she murmured, stepping back to Klaus’ side.“You okay?” Klaus asked, critically looking down at Angel’s hand.“Relax,” she snorted “It’s just a cut.”Kol laughed “God, you’re so whipped, Nik.”Elijah rubbed his forehead “Can we just focus on this situation before we continue to behave like children?”“You’re fighting a losing battle, Elijah,” Bonnie told him with a grin.Angel looked at the goblin apologetically “Sorry about that. My family is a bit… crazy.”Bloodthorn looked down at his papers and the result of the test “That’s alright… Lady Potter. May I ask where you’ve been these past years?”“It’s a long story,” she grimaced “There are a few things I need to discuss with you. I hope that’s alright.”
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
The goblin had listened to Angel’s story with wide eyes. At first, he had been trying to keep a straight face but the more she talked, the more fantastical it all sounded “So,” he cleared his throat when she was done “Let me get this straight… You were sent to another world after your fight with the Dark Lord and in that world, not only did you meet some vampires, there are also books about your life that are almost entirely accurate?”“Pretty much,” Angel nodded “Look, I’m aware the goblin race doesn’t like witches and wizards much but I need your help with this. Voldemort has made Horcruxes and one of them should still be here in the bank.” She shot the goblin in front of her a look “I propose a trade. I give you information on how I managed to break into Gringotts in the books and you give me the Horcrux.”Bloodthorn narrowed his eyes “Why should I believe that the information is valid?”Angel sighed and pulled out the Elder Wand, just holding it in her hand loosely “I swear on my magic that everything I told you is the truth.” A flash of light and a faint wind breezed through the room before Angel lit her wand with a quick Lumos “I apologize for my use of magic,” she murmured “Just thought this would be easier than beating around the bush. I have a shit-ton of stuff to do and not a lot of time. My presence isn’t going to stay a secret forever and I plan on taking care of as much as I can in the time that I have.”“Angel…” Bonnie spoke up, watching the goblin curiously. Since they had stepped into the bank, Bonnie had barely looked away from the goblins. Vampires and werewolves were normal to her but the magical creatures in this world… It was fantastic… “You have a plan?”“It’s not a full plan yet,” Angel admitted “I have an idea but I’m going to need your help. And yours, Elijah, Kol.”Klaus looked at her with a raised eyebrow “And what about me?”“You’re going to be bait for a while if you don’t mind,” Angel told him, tilting her head “I’m not going to make you do it but I think it’s something you’d like…”“Hm,” Klaus hummed, a smirk forming on his face “I like the way you’re thinking, love.”Angel shook her head and looked back to Bloodthorn “To get back on track… I can give you what I know of the events concerning Gringotts and you give me the Cup from Lestrange’s vaults. If you want Voldemort gone as much as I do, you’re going to think about it.” She took a card out of her pocket, something that she and Kol had been experimenting with since he got back from the dead and placed it on the desk. The cards she had were linked to her bracelet, warming up whenever the owner of the card tapped it, letting her know she was wanted. Of course, Death had a hand in helping them and the knowledge he had given her had done wonders. Half of the things they used to make these, she hadn’t even heard about before she became Mistress of Death. Not that it was hard to achieve… She only had four years of shitty magical education after all “If you have made a decision, just tap the card and I’ll know.”“I will discuss it with my superiors,” Bloodthorn nodded, trying to imagine what Ragnuk would say to the story. It was a bit hard to tell whether or not he would believe it with the oath in place.“Then I thank you for your help,” Angel inclined her head. She was about to stand up when Bloodthorn remembered something “There is one more thing, Lady Potter.” When Angel raised her eyebrow in question, the goblin sighed and brought out a document “Since your disappearance, the Minister of Magic has been trying to get into your vaults, citing that since he had arranged a marriage with your magical guardian, he should have access to your money.”Angel blinked and hissed in pain when Klaus tightened his grip on her arm almost painfully “An arranged marriage? Who with?”“Fudge’s son,” Bloodthorn told her. Before she could say anything else, he cut her off “Since you have bonded already and have been pronounced dead before, the contract is void. The reason I told you is…”“Because they will try to control me,” Angel sighed, closing her eyes tiredly. She was already regretting coming back to this world – the same world that had brought her so much pain. “I have nothing to fear from them?”Bloodthorn shook his head “It is void. Nothing they can say or do about it. That and it has come to our attention that you have never heard your parents’ will.”“My parents’…” Angel swallowed back the lump in her throat “I didn’t even know that they had a will.”“Your father was Lord Potter. It is only natural that he would have one,” Bloodthorn pointed out patiently. The fact that Lady Potter hadn’t been raised in this world and it had been several years since she had been back, caused him to be more patient than he would be with many others. It was also in part because two of the vampires were alternating between glaring at him and looking at Angel worriedly “A great deal of information has come to light since your disappearance.”Angel looked at Elijah pleadingly, not really sure what to do. Elijah smiled at her lightly before glancing at the goblin “If you have the time to explain, that would be much appreciated.”“Of course,” Bloodthorn inclined his head, mentally clearing his calendar for the next couple of hours. He pressed a button to have refreshments brought to the room, hoping that this would go over well, even if he doubted it. Much of what he had found out was… concerning.Klaus was lying on his bed in their hotel room with Angel in his arms. The moment they reached the hotel, she had broken down. The goblin had told her a lot of things she had been thinking about for years. The more he talked, the more Angel had shut down and in the end, all of them were glad when the bad news ended. It seemed as if the Headmaster – the person who had been as good as a grandfather to Angel when she was young – had been taking money and artefacts from Angel’s vaults after he had appointed himself her magical guardian against the wishes of the Potters. He had also been paying several people – including Minister Fudge – from the money he had taken.“What are you going to do now?” Kol asked, leaning against the doorframe.Klaus shook his head “We do what we came here for and as soon as we’re done, we’ll go back.”“That’s probably for the best,” Kol hummed and ran a hand through his hair “You know, it’s funny. I never thought that any of us would come to care about anyone like we care for Angel.”“I know what you mean,” Klaus sighed, playing with Angel’s long hair “With all the drama in Mystic Falls came something good.”Kol grimaced “I’ll never get over the fact that mother killed me…”Klaus looked up “I’m happy you didn’t stay dead but at least you managed to stop her from killing all of us.”“Yeah,” Kol mumbled, sitting down on the edge of the bed, studying Angel “Do you know what she’s planning?”Klaus shook his head “Nothing apart from the fact that she wants me to distract snake-face.”Kol huffed, crossing his arms “I wanted to do that,” he pouted.Klaus laughed at him “I’m sure you’d be able to help once in a while. I’m looking forward to antagonising him.”“I knew you would,” Angel mumbled, burying her face in Klaus’ chest further “Now shh.”Kol snorted “I’ll let you rest, Angel. I just came by to tell you that Elijah went out.”“Where did he go?” she asked, blinking up at him tiredly.“The Alley,” Kol shrugged “If I were to guess, he went to the bookshop and won’t be back until they throw him out.”Angel hummed and closed her eyes again “Sounds like ‘Lijah.”
