Levi was excited, Nico’s hockey league was in the playoffs and Levi finally had a day off so that he could take some time and actually watch him.“Hey babe, are you almost ready?” Nico asked as he was slinging his hockey bag over his shoulder, his muscles contracting as he did so.Levi could try and deny that he was staring, but what’s the use the man in front of him looked like a statue carved in Rome and he was loving every minute of it. He shook his head out of his days. “Yeah, just let me grab my phone, keys, and wallet and then we can go.” He said as he put on his leather jacket.On their way to the game, Nico was intently explaining how the game worked, and Levi just sat there, admiring him.____________The game was going great, and Levi actually found himself enjoying it, Nico’s team was even winning 2-1. Dahlia had joined him at the beginning of the second period, she even brought him a beer when she sat down next to him. At the end of the second period, Nico made his way over to where Levi was sitting, Nico skidded to a stop on the ice right before hitting the boards. “Hey babe, I see someone joined you,” Nico said as he was leaning over the boards. Levi wanted nothing more than to lean over the boards and kiss his boyfriend, but unfortunately, there was a sheet of plexy-glass in between them. “Yeah, I am enjoying myself. Why wouldn’t I be, watching my mega hot boyfriend handling that stick so well.” Levi said with a wink.Nico threw his head back laughing, “Well, I will see you after the game and I will show you how well I can handle a stick.” Nico replied. Dahlia cleared her throat, immediately making Levi blush, because he had briefly forgotten that she was still there. “Well I think that is my cue to leave, you two enjoy the rest of the game.” And with that he was gone, back to his team.______________It all happened too quickly. One minute Levi was sitting there laughing with Dahlia, the next thing he heard was a crash into the boards not to far from where he was sitting. As soon as he heard it he whipped his head to see where it came from. As soon as he saw him his stomach dropped because on the ice, unconscious was Nico. The next few minutes were a blur, all he could remember was feeling his blood pumping, and his mouth was dry, and he just couldn’t get enough air into his lungs. He doesn’t remember standing up, or running to the other side of the rink where the teams were.“You have to let me get to him,” Levi begged the coach.“He looks like he’s regained consciousness, but let Ryan lead you to him.” Coach said as he opened the small half door for him. By the time Levi got there, a couple of his teammates had him sitting up. Levi did a quick neuro check before taking a breath for what felt like the first time in minutes.Nico looked up at him, “Levi babe, I feel like I am going to throw up.”“Okay babe, we should get you to Grey-Sloan and get you a CT okay.” A couple of his teammates helped him up to get him to the change room. Levi changed his skates as quickly as he could, but just figured he could change the rest once they got to the ER. One of his teammates offered to help bring him because although Levi was stronger than he looked Nico was pure muscle. Luckily Dahlia had offered to drive so that Levi could sit in the back and keep an eye on his man.________________Levi spent the time at the hospital pacing, luckily his friends were there or else he would have forgotten to eat or drink water and coffee. He was pretty sure it was just a concussion but even those can be bad.When Nico got back from CT Levi set next to his bed, and went to hold his hand.“God my head hurts.”“I imagine, you’re okay though right?” Levi asked while he looked into his boyfriend’s eyes. In his head, Levi knew he would be okay, but he still worried. “Babe, I will be okay as long as you are here with me. Just a simple concussion anyway.”“Pfft, just a simple concussion eh, what’s with you and being thrown into things. Maybe you can help me and stop making my heart stop from being thrown into things.” Levi laughed softly while looking up at him. “And don’t you worry I will always be here to take care of you baby, I love you so much.”Nico kissed the hand of Levi’s he was holding. “I love you too babe, more than you will ever know.”
