Wilson sighed, defeated, sitting down onto a rock and setting his backpack onto his lap. He started rummaging through it, desperately trying to find the healing salve. Some twigs, tufts of grass, a few carrots.....there it is! He sighed in relief, immediately applying it to the wound on his left arm.
Today was a rather harsh day for him, to say the least. He woke up later than usual, which meant he wasted a lot of time that he could use to his advantage. When he then went to check on the rabbit traps, he found them all stomped to the ground, most likely done by a beefalo herd, and because that was not enough, he then got attacked by a pack of hounds when he tried to find more grass. He managed to escape, but to his misfortune got bitten in the fight, causing intense pain in his left arm whenever he tried to move it.This is my last healing salve... he realized. It stung when he applied it to the wound, but he knew it was necessary. He left it on it for a while, gritting his teeth in pain, then pulling out silk and wrapping it around the wound as a makeshift bandage. He would have to be careful not to open the wound even more.
He eventually got up, yawning. He hadn't slept much the past few days. Wherever he would go, he had this nagging feeling that something-no someone is watching his every move. It made him extremely uncomfortable, looking behind himself all the time, causing him to be distracted. It might just be only his sanity becoming lower with every day. Truth to be told, he desperately needed some kind of social interaction.True, when he was still in the 'real' world, he had spent most of his time alone, doing all kinds of experiments in his room, but this was something different. His hunger for knowledge had kept him occupied most of the time. Back then, he could just simply walk outside whenever he wanted and go to the town, but here? The only one that he could talk to was a piece of wood and that certainly is not the best companion.
He started going in the direction of his base when he suddenly heard a scream. He didn't think much of it at first, thinking it might just be a bird or a turkey, but when the scream came to him again, he realized it was neither. It was a human.Wilson ran as fast as he could, trying to focus on the direction where the screams were coming from. He got into the deeper part of the forest. He frantically looked around, eyes wide. Then he saw it. A little light, like a small flame dancing between the trees. He ran towards it, only slowing down when he saw from where it was coming from.
A figure was pinned against a tree, a pack of hounds surrounding it. He realized that it was, indeed a human. A woman he realized. Wilson could not see her face, but that didn't matter. He couldn't believe that he found another human, even though it was in these circumstances. He snapped back into reality when he noticed the girl frantically trying to scare the hounds off with her lighter, as her axe had been knocked to the side, too far for her to reach. *Those damn hounds again...* he thought.
He grabbed his axe from behind his back and ran forward, stabbing one of the hounds in its neck. Its body twitched for a second, before going limp on the ground. Wilson didn't hesitate, swinging his axe at the hounds, trying to pry them off. As he killed another, one came from behind and pounced at him, knocking him to the ground. Wilson bared his teeth, trying to keep the hounds snapping jaws from his face with his axe holding it back.He turned to the girl for a second. He noticed that in the mean-time she managed to grab her axe, so now she was fighting as well. "Run! Get your axe and run!" He yelled, then turning his attention back to the hound. The hound was more aggressive every second and Wilson swore he saw his life flash right before his eyes until-
Until the hound was knocked off of him, being slashed in half. The woman just saved him. She looked around, looking for any signs of more danger, only to see that all of the hounds have been killed already.
Wilson slowly sat up, breathing heavily.
The woman crouched down next to him, grateful for his help. "Oh my god, thank you so, so much.....if it weren't for you I would have been surely dead! The hounds attacked me while I was gathering wood and- wait, are you even real? You...you are not just an illusion, right?" She said, now a bit sceptical about him. Wilson smiled weakly. "I can assure you, Miss...?"
"Willow."
"Well, I can assure you, Miss Willow, I AM real. It...it is a pleasure to meet you, even in these circumstances....it...it is nice to know I'm not alone on this wretched island. The name is Wilson. Wilson Percival Higgsbury." He said, holding out his hand expectantly. Willow eyed him, before hesitantly shaking his hand.
"I....alrigh then. If you really are real...." She then noticed the blood soaking through the fabric of his shirt on his left arm. Her expression immediately changed from suspicious to worried in a matter of seconds.
"You are hurt! Wait, I have a bit of healing salve, I know it...just give me a second, I will find it...." She said, rummaging through her backpack.Wilson was now able to take a good look at her. She had black hair in two long pigtails, that were curved at the end (Wilson wondered how was that possible, then again his hair denied the laws of physics as well) and was wearing a red sweater and a long black skirt. She had a few scratches on her face, but otherwise, she seemed fine. The thing that caught his attention the most was her eyes though. Most would say that grey eyes are dull, but her's were full of life, little flames dancing in them. He couldn't look away, mesmerized by them.
"....there. You...it should heal up a bit. I hope it won't get infected." She said a neutral expression on her face. Wilson only now noticed that she had already applied the healing salve onto his arm. "Thank you, Miss Willow." He thanked. Willow looked up at the sky, noticing that the sun has almost set. She frowned, turning to Wilson."Can you walk? We should get going....my camp is not so far from here, I am pretty sure we could still make it there before the night." She said, once again looking at the sky.
"I assume you know how dangerous the darkness is...."
"Yes, I'm aware. Let's go then. I certainly don't plan on dying today." He said, standing up and wobbling on his feet a little. He then noticed the lighter on the ground. He leaned down and picked it up, handing over to Willow while bowing slightly."I believe you dropped this, Miss." He said, a smile tugging at his lips. The corner's of Willow's mouth twitched, giving away her smile. "Thanks. I appreciate it." She said, grabbing it from his hand. She flicked it on and off, on and off, mesmerized and calmed down by the little flame. She put it in her pocket (Was it in the skirt? We may never know) and walked a few steps before turning to face Wilson."You coming?" She asked, a bit impatient.Wilson looked up from the ground, giving her an apologetic smile. "My apologies. I was...thinking." Willow shook her head.
"You will have plenty of time for thinking back at my camp, where it's safe. You need to rest, the arm needs to heal. Come." She said, motioning for him to go with her hand. And so, they set off to rest for the night in Willow's base. Little did they know, that this was the start of a long-friendship and an even longer-lasting love.
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
Wilson yawned, sitting up. He rubbed his eyes, trying to adjust them to the light. He looked around, confused where he was, but then remembered, calming down.
*That's right* he thought *I met Miss Willow yesterday...*"Ah, you're awake! That's good, I was starting to get worried." He turned around to see Willow smiling at him, holding something in her hands.
"Good morning, miss Willow. Did you sleep well?" He asked, now fully aware of his surroundings.
Her camp was a bit smaller than his, but much more tidy and organized, which was quite a surprise for him, with all the things she had. The first thing he noticed was that she had quite a lot of chests, a lot of them left open, so you could see what was stored inside, many of them full. Next to a few of them was a science machine along with an alchemy machine and a few steps away was something that looked like an improvised work-table. And then there was the fire-pit. It was large, with stones around it to ensure that nothing else would catch on fire. From the looks of it, it was used very often. Though one thing he noticed that was missing, was a crock-pot and a straw roll, or any kind of thing on which she could sleep on, so they both had to sleep on the ground, nestled on a few tufts of grass as a makeshift (and a not very comfortable one) mattress. In conclusion, her base was quite good, for how long she was here.
("About a week or two, dunno to be honest. What about you?")"Ehh, not really, but I'm used to it. The darkness.....it's unnerving. I prefer to stay up and watch the fire. What about you? It...it looked like you were having nightmares." She said, now showing a slight sign of concern. She crouched beside him, observing him. Wilson blinked. Nightmares? Did he really? He rubbed the back of his head, smiling awkwardly. "Uhh, well...I guess I did. Can't really remember much, though. I apologize if it somehow....disturbed your sleep, Miss Willow."Willow shook her head. "No, don't worry about that. I was just...worried, is all." She sighed, looking down. "Anyway....could you show me your wound, please? I need to make sure it's not infected.""I can assure you, Miss Willow, the wound is completely healed. I don't feel any pain and-" he was cut off when willow gave him a cold glare that made Wilson shiver. "Listen here, dummy. Yesterday, you saved my frickin' life. I would have been most likely dead by now if you wouldn't show up. The least I can do is to treat your wound properly. So, be so kind Mister, shut up and let me do my work. You can then go after that..." Willow grumbled, Wilson, staring at her. He was a bit...confused, a little bit shocked even, but he did admit that he could use a bit of help. He took of his vest, rolling up his sleeve and looked at the wound. It wasn't bleeding, nor did it look infected, but the area where he was but was quite red. Willow shook her head, Wilson only now noticing that she was holding a healing salve in her hands. She applied it to the wound and bandaged it again, careful. It stung, but not as much as before. Somehow...her touch was soothing, calming Wilson's nerves.
*Don't think like that, idiot.* He scolded himself.
Willow sighed, setting down the empty bowl and staring at Wilson, presumably thinking. She looked at Wilson, a smile creeping onto her face, most likely she had realized something. Wilson raised his eyebrow's."Miss Willow? Is something wrong? Do I have anything-hey! Ow, that hurts!" He yelped, as Willow was now tugging at his beautiful hair. "How does your hair stick up like that? It's really cool! It's so...poofy and fluffy!" She said, undeniably curious. Wilson felt his cheeks becoming hot. If it was because of embarrassment, anger (or perhaps something else, something like her soft hands running through his hair making his heartbeat much faster than normally-), he didn't know.
"I'm glad you like my hair, Miss Willow, but I would very much appreciate if you would stop tugging at it, as it hurts." Willow pouted, tugging one last time before setting her hands on her lap."Alright then. If you insist." She said, smiling. She was quiet for a while, fidgeting her fingers. Wilson wondered how could she go from playful to nervous, almost sad maybe, in a matter of seconds. Finally, she spoke.
"So, umm....since your wound is almost healed, I guess...I guess we can now go our separate ways then. Well, it was...nice to meet you, Wilson! It's nice to know I am not the only one here. If....if you ever need anything, just.....try to find me, I guess." She said, standing up. Wilson blinked. Separate ways? And was it just his imagination, or was that a bit of sadness he heard in her voice? He brushed himself off and stood up. "Separate ways? Wouldn't it be...better to team up? I mean, winter is coming quite soon, I am sure we would have a much higher chance of survival if we would stick together. You...you don't have to accept, it's just...umm...." Willow blinked. She wasn't really sure about it, be she couldn't deny that she longed for a human companion as much as he did and to her surprise, she found him an adequate candidate for that matter."Team up? Well, I guess it would be better...umm, yeah, I agree!" She said, smiling dumbly. She mentally slapped herself for acting so weird. "So...you probably want to get some things from your old camp, right? I mean, if we are going to stay here...not to brag, but I think I have quite a lot of things. Oh, I almost forgot! There is a lake nearby, like 10 minutes of walking! So, water source!"She mentally slapped herself again. *Great work*, she thought.Wilson chuckled. He definitely didn't expect her to agree that fast, but all things considered, he was glad she did.
"Yes, I think that your camp is much more suitable. I-if it isn't any trouble, that is." Willow smiled. "No, not at all! So...I guess we are friends now, right? Well, friend, let's go get your stuff, m'kay?" She said happily.Wilson nodded, trying to keep cool. He hoped she wouldn't notice the faint blush on his face. It was most likely because she had just called him a friend (he didn't have many, his best friend being a dog named Toto) or maybe simply because she was a human, a female for that matter and as we all know, Wilson is a tad awkward around women."Of course, Miss Willow. Once again, thank you." Willow turned to Wilson. "Wilson, please stop calling me Miss. I hate it when somebody's bein' all formal n'stuff. It makes me feel old." She chuckled. Wilson blushed again, rubbing the back of his head.
"My apologies, Mi-I mean Willow. It will take some time for me to adjust to calling you that, but I will try my best." Willow only rolled her eyes again, this time only as a joke though.
"Come on, then. We have quite a few things to do today." She said, already walking towards the forest. Wilson followed closely behind, smiling.
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
It was a hot summer evening. The birds were chirping, the beautiful sunset illuminating the flowers and trees, giving the impression that they were ablaze, much to Willow's satisfaction. Both of the survivors were sitting on a log, quietly eating their dinner, that consisted of a rabbit, some mushrooms and carrots. The past two weeks were quite eventful for them. Wilson has 'moved in' with Willow, adding a crockpot, a drying rack and two straw rolls to their collection of shared things, Willow later making a tent. They were both quite hesitant to get to know each other at first, but after a few days of awkward small talk, they were able to talk normally, eventually becoming friends, dare to say, good friends. Wilson cared deeply for Willow; same could be said for her.
It was a long day for both of them, as they had ventured out into the caves they found first thing in the morning. Of course, the only thing they found was a nest of some nasty spiders (that was the moment Willow learned that Wilson was afraid of them, but to his credit, he did help to kill quite a few, which I must add, impressed Willow) and a lot of rocks. Just rocks. When those poor souls finally came out of the caves, they realized they might have just wasted an entire day, just to get some silk and spider glands. (Which wasn't entirely that bad, it always comes useful, but still, an entire day wasted)Wilson was thinking and for him thinking means staring at Willow while actually thinking. Willow shifted. It was a bit uncomfortable.
"Umm...you okay? You are just...staring at me." She asked, a bit concerned. Maybe he was going insane? No, he couldn't, he would act a lot differently and he even had his garland on. (Willow found it adorable, Wilson just embarrassing)Wilson woke up from his trance, blinking a few times. "Hmm? Oh, umm, yes I'm quite golden." Willow frowned. "No, you're not. You haven't even touched your food! You gotta eat something, or I'll make you!" She threatened, mostly as a joke. Wilson chuckled.
"All right then. I was just thinking about home, is all." He said, now finally picking up a piece of meat, munching on it quietly. Willow frowned again. She didn't think about home much. It's not like she even had one. She...she was happier here. With Wilson."Well, let me preoccupy your genius mind with something else, m'kay?" She said, now grinning from ear to ear. Wilson perked up, arching an eyebrow, not really sure what Willow had in mind.
"Oh? Alright then. Go ahead." He encouraged, quite curious.
"Just simple questions to get to know each other, don't worry. So....what's your favourite animal? And don't say you don't have one, everybody has." Wilson laughed."Favourite animal? Seriously? Oh, alright then....hmmm...." he thought about it for a second, remembering Toto. "A dog, probably. Had a puppy named Toto when I was younger. What about you?" Willow answered immediately. "A phoenix." Wilson chuckled. "I should have expected that." (He knows about her love for fire, not about her immunity to it, though)
Willow smiled sheepishly. "Ok, onto my next question! How old are you and where do you come from? I have a few tips!" She said, excited. "Well, try to guess, then!" Wilson encouraged, amused.
"Umm....26-27, England. So, did I get it right?" She asked, smiling. Wilson chuckled, but was quite impressed."Almost. I'm actually 29, 30 if my birthday has passed already and yes, I do come from England. How did you know?" He asked, curious. Willow only smirked. "Well, England wasn't that much of a guess. Your accent mostly gave you away, but the way you walk and act was also a bit of a give-away. And for the age, you-" She stopped herself before saying anything else.*You are dorky, funny and cute*, she wanted to say. Instead, she said; "You just look like it."
Wilson mused, grinning. "It's flattering that I look younger though. And I guess that I do kind of....act English, as you would say. I am not really sure if that is a compliment, but I will take it as one. Alright, my turn!" He said.
"I think you are 24 and are from the United States." He said, quite happy with himself. Willow smiled. "Almost. I'm 25, but I do come from the USA. You're pretty good." Wilson blushed and rubbed the back of his head. "Thank you. You are too. Ok, my turn at asking. Favourite colour?" Willow laughed. "Red. Seriously? Can't think of something more creative? What about you, then?" Wilson smiled."Blue."
"I knew it! Guys like you always like blue!" Wilson raised his eyebrows, more confused than ever. "Guys like me? What do you mean by that?" Willow only smirked. "I'll never tell!" They both laughed. They both continued to ask each other questions, laugh and have a good time. Suddenly it started raining. They were both surprised at first, but they eventually made their way to their tent (they had only one, but it was big enough for the both of them along with their straw rolls that Wilson made). They were a bit soaked, but they didn't mind. They had a makeshift lantern with a big enough flame to warm them.
The rain continued, accompanied by thunder and occasional lightning. It was quite noisy, but for some reason....soothing at the same time. Wilson yawned and looked over to Willow, who had her lighter out, flicking it on and off. He noticed she did that whenever she was nervous. She then closed it shut."I think....I think we should go to sleep, tomorrow we will most likely have to repair-" she was cut off with the sound of thunder rumbling. She yelped and brought her knees closer to her body.
Is she...scared of thunder? Wilson thought, watching her. He then noticed something, his eyes widening. "Willow...you....where is your straw roll?" She was sitting on the cold, bare ground. She looked at Wilson, then under herself, her eyes widening.
"Oh, god, why! Uggh, I must have left it at the campfire....and why now of all times! Great, sleeping on the bare ground, with the storm right outside our-" She yelped again, the thunder rumbling closer this time. She clutched onto Wilson for her dear life, only noticing it after a while, blushing. She let go, scooting over to her half. "I'm sorry, I will go to my half of the tent, I...uhh got scared and..." she stopped talking. She felt something grab her hand, something warm. She turned around, seeing Wilson's hand on hers. He had a...strange expression on his face, something between worry, hope and sadness.
"No, it-it's alright. If...if you want, we can share a straw roll. It's big enough for both of us and...well...." He shifted, clearly embarrassed. Willow blinked a few times, eyeing him suspiciously. Wilson noticed that and gave her a sad puppy look mixed with something like guilt and hurt at the same time. (He looked rather adorable, Willow noted.)
"Who do you think I am, Willow? Do you seriously.....do you actually think I would...I would...." Wilson's voice trailed off, now looking down. Willow sat on the ground, unsure of what to do, until she finally scooted closer to him, her back facing him. They weren't extremely close, but still close enough for her hair to touch his cheeks.
".....no. I don't. I trust you." She answered his question.
"....thank you....." she said, quietly. She could feel Wilson's body tense when her hair touched his face, so she moved a bit further, but was stopped once again by his hand. Another thunder rumbled outside. She flinched but didn't yelp."....you must think that I'm weird for being scared of thunder....it's quite funny, actually. I don't mind the lightning, I like it actually, but the thunder....brings back bad memories." Wilson was quiet.
"I don't think it's weird at all. It's completely understandable. I was scared of it as well when I was younger." Willow nodded. This time, the thunder was the loudest. She didn't move at all. She felt something wet run down her cheeks; those were tears. She wiped them away, hoping Wilson didn't notice. She was always scared of thunder, since she was little, since....since that man tried to take her away, to hurt her...to....to....
Don't think about it she scolded herself. She then realized how close she was to Wilson. Her first instinct was to scoot away, to keep her distance, but something wouldn't let her. What if he tries to....what if...no....she tried to focus on something else.
He's your friend. He wouldn't hurt you. He's a gentleman, he's your friend, he's Wilson-She started sobbing. At first, it was only mild, but after a while, her body started to tremble. She suddenly felt something wrap around her.
Wilson held her close, hugging her. She could feel that he was hesitant; he didn't want to make her uncomfortable, but he was doing quite the opposite actually. It felt....nice. He started pulling his hands away when she flinched, but she stopped him. "...no, please, hold me...." Wilson obeyed.
She eventually hugged him too, wrapping her hands around him, hearing the rhythm of his heart beating. It was steady and calm, unlike hers which was beating a thousand times per minute."Don't cry, Willow. It will be alright." He said, almost whispering. She gripped his vest tighter, shutting her eyes closed, trying to stop, but she couldn't, she didn't have the strenght-"....i'm sorry...." she sobbed "...i'm, so, so sorry...."Another thunder. Willow's grip tightened."Don't be. I'm right here, Willow. I won't go anywhere...""I promise."
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
Willow flung her eyes open, blinking a few times, trying to adjust them to the shrouding darkness that was enveloping her....and Wilson. She noticed a second after her awakening that they were really, really close to each other, his breath tickling her neck, making her shiver and move a bit further away from him.*Great, we know each other for less than a month and are already sleeping wi- NEXT to the other one.*
She thought and rolled her eyes. Of course, this time it was necessary. She was just dumb and had forgotten to retrieve her straw roll before she went to sleep. But who could've known that it would start raining? She could still hear the faint sound of the droplets falling down onto their tent and then splashing against the ground, accompanied by a low rumble, a thunder that was far away. She just lay there, listening. She was debating whether or not she should go outside but then dismissed the idea, as she definitely did not want to get wet. She hated water, truth to be told. Back home, whenever it would rain, she would lock herself in her room and play with matchsticks, admiring the little dancing flames surrounding her.
Speaking about flames and fire, she suddenly got the urge to light one. She wanted to get up, but something was holding her. She looked down, only to see Wilson's hand wrapped around her waist. She felt her cheeks becoming hot, perhaps out of embarrassment, perhaps because of something entirely else. Nonetheless, she carefully removed herself from his grip and stood up quietly, trying not to wake him up.
She went over to the opening of the tent and poked her head out. The sun was rising up, trying to get above the trees and get rid of the dark, but it was still a long way before it would be a day. Willow didn't mind that, though. It was dark, but not enough for it to claim her, so she was calm. She stepped out of the tent, stretching herself, then walked over to the fire pit that was a few steps away from their tent. She crouched down next to it, grabbed the wet logs and put them aside for them to dry during the day, instead getting the flammable ones, those could actually be used. She had put them in the firepit, then only sitting there before pulling out her lighter and flicking it open, bringing it over to the logs. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Wilson yawned, sitting up and rubbing his eyes. He looked down next to him, only to find the place where Willow was sleeping empty. He couldn't help himself but feel a bit sad. He had a suspicion that he might have woken up partially because he missed her warmth, but he quickly discarded that thought from his mind.*She must have left already* he thought to himself, getting up and walking over to the opening of the tent. He stepped out, expecting to see Willow either gone (maybe chopping some wood, that would definitely come in handy) or maybe cooking something by the fire. He had noticed that whenever they had some time off, she would try to cook something, usually by roasting it above the fire, which resulted in the food being roasted or burnt. She tried though, always apologizing whenever she ruined the food, Wilson comforting her that she gives it her best.
As expected, he found her sitting by the fire, the light that it provided illuminating the soft features of her face and her hair, giving off the impression that she was being consumed by the flames. It didn't look like she noticed him just yet. Wilson just...stood there, watching her, as he didn't want to interrupt whatever she was doing. It looked like she was thinking about something. As he was observing her, he realized....she was actually very pretty.Beautiful, he would say. Her messy pigtails, her fiery eyes, the way she talked and acted...Wilson couldn't help himself. Did he....did he actually like her? It seemed like it. He experienced these feeling before, once, back home when he was supposed to...when he was supposed to spend the rest of his life with a girl he loved. But with Willow it was different. He watched her, a sad expression on his face. Until...
Willow reached out her hand and....did she just....did she just put her hand in the fire? No, no, clearly it was just the trick of the light or maybe just Wilson's imagination or - wait. She had done it again. He watched in amazement as the fire climbed it's way up her arm, leaving no burn marks in the process. She didn't even flinch. It actually looked like she....enjoyed it. He mindlessly stepped closer to her, eyes wide. Willow suddenly turned to look at him, eyes wide. She immediately retrieved her hand from the fire, bringing it close to her chest. She was scared. He could see it in her eyes, those beautiful eyes of hers.Wilson gulped. "I-I'm sorry, I didn't want to sneak up on you, I just s-saw you here, s-so I went up to you, but you-"
"Shut up...." Willow said, holding her face in her hands. "You weren't supposed to see that, Wilson..." She said quietly. Wilson was troubled. He slowly walked over to her, crouching down next to her and placing a hand on her back, stroking it. She flinched but didn't move or say anything. They were both quiet.
"How...how did you do that?" Wilson asked carefully. Willow removed the hands from her face, now looking at Wilson with a sad expression on her face."I...I don't know, Wilson. I was able to do that since I was a child. I-I don't know how...I just can. I am somehow immune to fire and-and I can do nothing about it!" Willow was now sobbing, tears welling up her eyes. Wilson frowned.
"I love fire...I can't help myself, Wilson! I try, I really try! But....b-but I always end up near it again and again and...." She was now crying, tears streaming down her face. God, how she hated this...Wilson was quiet, thinking, still comforting her. ".... I think that this is a wonderful gift you have, Willow. I...I have never seen anything like this." Willow looks up at him, blinking. "You-you don't think its weird? That...I'm not weird?" She asked, hope coming from her voice. Wilson smiled. "Why would I? This is something extraordinary, Willow! You are someone extraordinary!" Willow smiled sadly.
"Wilson you don't have-"
"No, Willow. Listen to me. I have never, ever met anyone so smart, funny, kind, resourceful or as amazing as you are. Never in my entire life. Remember that, alright? Please. Promise me." He said. He brought her head up, so she would look him in the eye. She was just staring at him, sobbing. She then launched herself forward, tackling him in a crushing hug. She buried her head in his chest, now crying with full force."...oh, Wilson....thank you...thank you so much..." She said. She wasn't crying because she was sad. Those were tears of joy because she had found somebody she could trust, she could laugh with, with whom she could be safe...that man was Wilson. She rarely ever showed her sensitive side, but with him, she felt like she could do anything. She looked up at him, to see his flustered face, so she decided to make him embarrassed even more. She quickly pecked his cheek, then pulled back, grinning at him, the tears still glistening in her eyes.
Wilson was having a hard time comprehending what just happened. Did she.....just kiss him on the cheek? It was a quick kiss, nothing more, but to him felt like an eternity. Oh, how much he longed for her to do it again. Well, now he couldn't deny it. Maybe, he truly did have a little crush. Just a little one though. Willow sat down next to him, leaning her head against his shoulder. She sighed. Wilson hesitantly wrapped his arms around her and embraced her once more. "Crying doesn't suit you, Willow. Please, try not to cry anymore. It breaks my heart to see you like that." Willow giggled. "I will think about it, Wilson. But...really, thank you so much....nobody has ever been so sweet to me..." Wilson just smiled. "How could they not? You are truly a wonderful person, Willow." They both stared into the fire, not really caring about anything. After all, they still had an entire day before them. What could an hour or two matter?
