Highschool dances. Balloons, confetti, loud speakers, a random puddle of punch on the floor, teenage students dancing and swaying along to whichever song blared through the speakers. Right now, it was a soft sultry song that made Izuku sigh as he sat on the gymnasium bench, watching highschool sweethearts wrap their arms around their partners neck or waist. Swaying, smiling and shoving their faces together. Izuku felt poisonous jealousy flood in his veins. He knew he was plain, awkward and couldn’t even manage to get a nice suit for himself to even go to the dance.Uraraka really could be persuasive when she pulled puppy dog eyes and begged Izuku to come with her and Iida, signing the contract to be a third wheel. He knew he shouldn’t be jealous of their relationship Izuku knew they were happy and... in love. He just wished someone looked at him that way. That someone gave him all their attention. That he made someone’s heart skip a beat and their cheeks flush a pretty pink. That the chocolate he got on Valentine’s Day wasn’t from someone saying: “for being such a good friend!” He wanted to be someone’s person. Just like any average high schooler, he wanted to have his highschool sweetheart. He wanted to go on dates where he stuffed his face with fast food, then blushed when he caught his date looking at him with affection as he wiped the grease away from the corners of his mouth. He wanted to lounge in the back of someone’s car, watching the stars and giggling with someone he really liked. He wanted to have someone throw a pebble at his window, just to say hello. He wanted someone he could go to these stupid highschool dances with and press their noses together and exchange soft kisses before he got embarrassed and complained about PDA. Izuku let a sigh escape his chapped lips, his hand holding his head up as his lips down turned watching the couples swaying in circles. A figure stood in front of Izuku, obscuring the view of the dance floor from Izuku’s vision. Izuku tilted his head up, looking into a milky brown and storm blue eyes, red and white hair braided into a bun and a lip piercing reflecting the light. “T-Todoroki-kun?” Izuku squeaked. “Midoriya..” Todoroki looked away shyly. “Um, would you like to dance?” He outstretched his hand. Izuku started for a moment at the boy. His eyes shifted away, his face a pretty pink and a Izuku gulped, feeling his own heart race and speed up. Izuku grasped his hand, smiling at how warm it was. “I’d love to!” Izuku smiled brightly. Todoroki turned his head to study Izukus face, his face turning into a crimson blush. Todoroki nodded before leading Izuku out into the crowded floor, Izukus red sneakers squeaking slightly against the floor. Todoroki wrapped his long arms around Izukus waist, Izuku reaching up to wrap his arms around Todorokis neck. Izuku bit his lip to stop from grinning too wide. ‘Woah..’ Izuku thought. ‘So this is how it feels in the movies..’
