The moment Lorenzo lifted his filthy hands, Catarina busted through the doors, pushed magic from her hands and grabbed Magnus.Magnus ended up landing on his butt and he'd have complained if it wasn't for the fury that swirled fluorescent blue on her skin and sky angry in her eyes. "Caterina, you shouldn't be here", he stammered."You, shut up", she snapped, blue with fury as she turned to Lorenzo who had his usual despicable smirk like he was the law and the law was him. "You see this man?" she asked, her eyes unwavering while she pointed at Magnus, "When it comes to him, your orders mean less than horse shit to me"."Catarin—""Shut up, Magnus", she snapped again.Lorenzo shifted his weight from one leg to the next because, just when he thought he'd cornered Magnus and made a lesson out of him, here came another rebellious wild one. But Lorenzo wouldn't be Lorenzo if he didn't try to still be relevant and so, seething through his teeth he shifted his weight to his other leg and said, "Catarina, you must know what will become of you if you defy me".Catarina stepped in front of Magnus, her eyes were the most dangerous blue as her skin glowed in full warlock form and without replying, she extended one hand behind her and before Magnus or even Lorenzo could take note of what she was about to do, she shocked Magnus with a bolt of magic.When it was all over, Magnus widened his eyes in awe at feeling the surge of that familiar energy.Lorenzo was furious. "Catarina Loss, you'll pay dearly for disobeying me", his hands ready to retaliate but just as quickly, Cat waved a hand and already she portalled her way to Magnus's loft."Happy?" was all she asked, looking at Magnus with the same angry eyes... just a teeny bit softened by the care Magnus knew she has for him.Magnus was still flexing his fingers like he couldn't believe he got some of his magic back. Maybe it was Cat's feelings reaching him through the magic but it felt warm and his heart felt lighter and giddy. "Catarina, thank you. But you really shouldn't have"."Shut up, Magnus", she said once again, but then extended her hand, grabbed him by the waist and held him still against the wall with her magic, "Now you listen to me, Magnus Bane", she tightened her grip around him, "Are you listening?"Magnus nodded.He must admit that the last time he saw her that angry was when Ragnor ate the icing off her muffin when they were kids. "I'm listening"."The magic I gave you won't last an hour", she warned, loosening her grip a tiny bit, "I just wanted to piss off Lorenzo and save you from making a huge mistake because if the GREAT MAGNUS BANE is going to beg then go beg Asmodeus... as least then you know you'll be getting something pure instead of some polluted, water-down wannabe so-called magic that dirty-ass Lorenzo was about to pour into you".And Magnus looked at her, watching as the blue slowly faded from her skin and as most of her anger got replaced by sincere worry. "Catarina, thank you"."Don't thank me yet", she told him, finally letting him go, "One bastard may be down but we've still got the bigger bastard to rattle to get your magic back... but at least he's the real deal".And Magnus smiled.really,Perhaps his true magic is finding people who actually love and care for him... people like Madzie, Alec, Raphael, Ragnor and Cat. "Catarina, thank you"."Stop thanking me", she smiled, slapping him on the shoulder, "I only bought us some time. Now, hurry and write a note telling your warrior boyfriend to meet us in hell".And Magnus's eyes widened in a sort of excitement. "Wait! You don't mean—?""Oh yes I do", she gave him a mischievous grin, "Why not introduce your soon husband to be to papa Asmodeus while negotiating your magic back?" she grinned, "Now, that's the true meaning of killing two birds with one stone".Really,In no time,Magnus sent a fire message to Alec: Meet me in Edom for waffles.Really,Some magic like friendship and love, can't be taken.Alec is already on his way.--- magnus x alec
