"What the fuck do you mean you can’t peel a potato?”Todoroki sets the potato down on the counter with perhaps less tact than he planned, takes a breath. It breaks over his lips more as an exasperated sigh because in all honesty he’s a little sleepy and it’s already getting close to seven in the evening. He considers repeating himself, but there can’t be a more direct way to say it than ‘ sorry but I don’t know how to do that’ when asked to deal with the vegetable in question.Between cutting carrots and tossing them into the pan, Bakugou hums. That low rumble sinks into Todoroki’s skin despite the space between them, has become calming in the comfort of their apartment. Back pressed against the counter, Todoroki watches quietly. Bakugou is very good with the knife. Uraraka was probably right to be suspicious in their first year about that.Nonetheless, it remains a mesmeric sight. On the battlefield Bakugou moves in fast bursts, sharp remarks and sharper hits. Despite meagre assumptions based on appearances, that are meaningless and absolved of credibility, every move Bakugou makes is calculated and steeped in meticulous precision that his quirk conceals. In the kitchen, Bakugou moves much the same way. The heat beneath his veins simmers rather than erupts, but the deliberate nature of it all remains. Nothing is without purpose. He doesn’t waste words, even the foul ones. They’re there because he wants to say them not because he’s filling the space for the sake of killing silence. Todoroki is often content to watch Bakugou in the kitchen, trace over the routine with heavy eyes. Most evenings when they’re both home, he gets far too swept up in spectating rather than partaking with the cooking. It’s soothing, seeing the careful control Bakugou has over it all. When he’s alone, Todoroki dissolves into chaos and orders takeout but ensures the evidence is destroyed by the time Bakugou is home. Sometimes, having a fire quirk has its uses - even in everyday life.“Oi, quit staring at me and help get this done.”The voice breaks Todoroki out of his comfortable reverie. It’s a shame, but Bakugou will make up for it. Arms snake around Bakugou’s waist from behind.“Well. Someone is fucking clingy tonight.”Todoroki melts against his back, unashamed. They both know Bakugou instigates the majority of their cuddling anyway, even if he will deny it to the grave. As Todoroki speaks, low and hushed, his mouth hovers close to the shell of Bakugou’s ear.“You like it.”Bakugou prods him in the stomach, with the non-knife hand which is a good thing. Those red fiery eyes are fixed on the counter, but Todoroki can see the flush creeping up his neck, feels the shudder fluttering up his spine.“None of that gross shit in the kitchen.”That is not the opinion Bakugou had two nights ago, but Todoroki decides to keep that tidbit filed away for later use in one of their future bickerings. A hint of smile is burrowed into Bakugou’s hair. Then, pressing a chaste kiss to the corner of Bakugou’s mouth, Todoroki drops his chin to Bakugou’s shoulder. The click of a tongue is the only response Bakugou gives to being used as a headrest. He should be grateful Todoroki isn’t in the mood to lean on his head instead and parade the difference in their height, he’s tall enough to do that now.“It looks good,” muses Todoroki when Bakugou collates the vegetables into a pile. All that’s left are the potatoes.Bakugou plucks himself from Todoroki’s grasp, searching his eyes.“Are you being serious about this potato shit? Or is this one of your stupid jokes that aren’t funny?”“Midoriya finds them funny.”Maybe it’s immature to pull this card but Todoroki can hardly help it when it provokes such an amusing reaction from Bakugou. With a huff, something along the lines of ‘damn nerds’ twisted across his tongue, Bakugou narrows his eyes. Yes, over the years Todoroki has also earned himself the status of nerd. That’s interesting though, considering the revelation in their second year at UA that Bakugou had all the special editions and collectable volumes of the manga ‘ Meow And Me ’. Todoroki may well enjoy that manga very much, may have binged the entire anime in one sitting with Bakugou in a fashion Iida would declare irresponsible, but Bakugou truly is the one immersed in it. Todoroki has seen the keyrings, found the secret merchandise shrine in the cupboard of the spare room Bakugou thinks he doesn’t know exists. So omitting himself from the nerd group is extremely hypocritical.“It wasn’t a joke by the way. I don’t know how to peel them,” offers Todoroki, because the potatoes are still sitting on the side and almost everything else is prepared to cook. As a core component of the meal, he best let Bakugou know so that they’re not forgotten about.“Sometimes, I wonder how you’re even real.”That’s rich, coming from someone like Bakugou Katsuki. Before Todoroki can say as much, Bakugou nudges him. It’s a gentle playful touch, subtle in ways Todoroki has come to learn are more common than expected. There’s a soft gleam in his eyes, budding amusement that barely floats to the surface. It’s nice, to have moments like this. That is, it’s nice until the peeler is shoved ceremoniously into his face.“Peel.”“That is not necessary,” Todoroki pushes the object away. He begins to activate his left side, smoke steaming off his hand. “I can just use my quirk.”“Sure,” Bakugou grunts with a shrug, turning the water in the pan to boil. “Half-ass it if you really want to.”Todoroki abandons the potatoes in an instant. It’s a sore subject even when mentioned off-handedly, and it never fails to provoke a situation needlessly. But there’s something else unspoken tacked onto the end of that. Todoroki just has to be patient if he wants to find out what it is, even if he suspects it’s petty. He can be petty too, is in fact the crowned Prince of pettiness. Bakugou knows this, so he should be very careful.“Like you did at the sports festival in our first year.”There it is. That’s it. Right there. And this is exactly why Todoroki seldom offers to help in the kitchen with Bakugou preparing their meals. Be it measuring ingredients or fetching things from the fridge, the accusation is always the same and provides ample opportunity for Bakugou’s endless grudge to resurface.“That was seven years ago.”Despite having some discussion about it in their second year, several rematches, resolving the matter as best they could, Bakugou will never cease to bring it up at any moment. No matter how trivial or silly, like peeling potatoes. Bakugou barks out a laugh, the kind that cuts as sharp as the knife in his hands. Todoroki has always likened that sound to a gremlin’s cry in the dead of night, but would never dare say it out loud. He probably would be on the sofa for at least a week, and the bed is technically his.“And that makes you a grown adult who still can’t peel a fucking potato!”Todoroki stares down at the main offender of the day (the potato not Bakugou, even though yes he is taller remember). It’s not the potato that goads him, no. Todoroki is not being coerced into a challenge by a potato nor by his boyfriend. It’s the promise of restoring his integrity. ‘Half-assed’ has always evoked a visceral and immediate reaction from him. Bakugou knows this. Whatever happens next is his own fault. “I’ll peel them.”
How hard could it really be?
“Bet you can’t.”Ah. So it’s a challenge, officially.“You’re wrong.”“Alright.” There’s amusement laced in Bakugou’s voice, as if he doesn’t believe Todoroki. Just for that, Todoroki will raise his game.“I can peel all these potatoes.”“We don’t need all of them peeled dumbass,” Bakugou smirks. It’s soft in the corners, fonder than it needs to be. Todoroki wouldn’t have it any other way. “Just three. Think you can handle it?”“I can handle that and so much more,” Todoroki boasts before he can stop himself.Sometimes Bakugou brings out his worst qualities, amplifies them. But there’s no judgement there, not really. All in all, they’re good for each other. Extremely good.“Surprise me, then.” Picking up his keys from the kitchen table, Bakugou swaggers towards the front door. The slow sway of his hips is definitely deliberate and completely unfair. “Finish the dinner.”Todoroki has barely managed to make a successful home cooked meal with Bakugou’s supervision. But to accept defeat now would be unacceptable.“If I do it, then I win.”After the years of rivalry over mundane things, the conditions are known to both of them at this point. The winner can make one request, within reason, and the other cannot refuse. It’s certainly led to some entertaining scenarios in the past.“When you lose, I win,” Bakugou chants. “You can’t take down the King.”“Don’t speak so soon.”Dethroned, that is what Bakugou Katsuki will be when he returns home. And also hopefully satisfied with the amazing fantastic spectacular food Todoroki is going to make because he is going to win.“Two hours. Get to it, those potatoes won’t peel themselves.” The door closes, leaving Todoroki alone in the one place he has always felt a little lost in. In Bakugou’s absence, the kitchen seems to have become more mysterious and cryptic than before. The counter seems bigger than it was before, the utensils are elusive, the drawers harbour great secrets.Todoroki stares at the potatoes; they stare right back. And deep within his soul, despite his desire to win this he knows. Todoroki knows it in his bones, in every fibre of his being. He is utterly doomed.[text] Midoriya, I need your help. Todoroki doesn’t intend to be dramatic, but Bakugou is somehow expecting this to be done in the next few hours. He is no closer to achieving that, or winning the challenge. The past twenty minutes have been wasted sizing up his opponent, observing the potatoes in their current state. Followed by likening the speckles over the skin to the freckles on his best friend’s face.[text] It’s urgent. Like the loyal good friend he is, Midoriya texts back almost instantly.[text] 2 minutes!!!! Ah. Right. So he’s either closeby or he’s using his quirk in a way Iida would highly disapprove of. The flash of green lightning darting past the window, followed by the knock on the door, indicates the latter. Of all things, Todoroki finds himself touched his friend would go to such lengths. Even if their situations were reversed, peeling potatoes aside, Todoroki would do the same. Of course. It’s a relief to leave the kitchen, just for a moment to open the front door. Bounding inside, Midoriya surveys their surroundings.“What’s the problem?”Confusion spreads over Midoriya’s face as everything looks relatively normal. The only thing out of place is the book on the coffee table Todoroki had idly flicked through earlier. Hardly surprising considering how Todoroki and Bakugou could probably have a hit TV show on how to keep a living space neatly organised. Not only their quirks are a powerful combination.“It’s over here...”Todoroki walks towards the kitchen, the looming sense of dread returning as he gestures to the potatoes. He hasn’t deceived Midoriya, because this truly is an urgent problem to him. Midoriya blinks, eyes darting between the potatoes and Todoroki. Whatever he hopes to find, he doesn’t.“Okay?? No, sorry I don’t understand. What’s going on?”“Bakugou doesn’t think I can make dinner, because I can’t peel potatoes. I was going to just…” Todoroki takes one of the potatoes into his left palm and clenches. “It would be much more efficient.”No flames appear, but Midoriya seems to get the message well enough. Prying the potato from Todoroki’s hand, he smiles. It’s the squiggly kind that indicates he’s either trying not to burst out laughing or he’s exasperated. Given the shaky sigh that escapes moments later, it must be the latter. The affection swathed in his eyes lessens the impact of it.“You know, Kacchan isn’t always the best at saying what he wants to. But sometimes you do have a similar issue, Todoroki-kun.”Ah there is that unashamed perceptive streak. Todoroki stares at his friend.“I invited you here to help me peel potatoes, not for a roast.”Hands fly up, waving through the air.“I’m sorry, T-Todoroki-kun! That was a little rude of me haha… What I mean is that surely it would be more satisfying if you tried to peel the potatoes the right way first? I know you want to do something nice for Kacchan.”It’s true, he and Bakugou have been together for quite a while now. But Midoriya plucking it out without much effort and seeing through the guise is a little embarrassing. Then again, his friend has always had a special talent for seeing what others cannot.“Fine,” Todoroki concedes. “Please, show me how to do it.”Midoriya demonstrates, mumbling instructions as he goes at a speed that is difficult to keep up with. Listening with rapt attention, Todoroki hovers close to inspect each stage of the process. Within a few moments, a potato is peeled. It’s clunky in places but the important fact is that it has indeed been peeled. That’s one out of three potatoes down, the evil has almost been defeated.“It’s your turn now, I entrust this to you.”Sometimes, Midoriya can also be dramatic. Todoroki appreciates him indulging the mood, taking the potato peeler from his hands. Of the two potatoes left Todoroki picks the smaller one, deciding it to be the best target. It will take less time to peel, and he has more chances of getting it right with less surface area to worry about. He presses the peeler to the skin. Midoriya nods, murmuring encouragements from the sidelines with as much enthusiasm as he would cheer for friends in the aftermath of a battle.“Here goes nothing…”Todoroki mirrors Midoriya’s previous actions, surprised to find it stings his hands. That’s unusual. Midoriya has a high pain tolerance, but he would have at least warned Todoroki if it was going to hurt. Frowning, Todoroki tries again only to get the same result. He flinches. The motion draws Midoriya away from the water on the stove.“T-T-Todoroki-Kun?!” Midoriya darts forwards, snatching the peeler from him. “You’re bleeding!”“Oh.”So apparently, he peels his skin better than the potato. Satisfied it’s nothing serious, Midoriya ushers him to the sink. Rinsing his hands, Todoroki purses his lips. Bested by a potato peeler of all things. It’s a dark instrument created by the devil, Todoroki can be sure of that much now. But there are still two potatoes left to peel, and a meal to be made. By the way his friend is clutching the peeler, there is no way he will let Todoroki anywhere near it again soon.“Midoriya,” he asks. “What do we do now?”Sleeves rolled up, Midoriya brandishes the potato peeler. He spears the air with it, eyes gleaming with determination. In a voice bigger than it needs to be, his bright-eyed friend proclaims their victory.“It’s going to be okay!” With his best All Might impression, Midoriya reaches for the remaining potatoes. “Because I am here!”Thanks to Midoriya, dinner is saved. He is afterall a true hero of their time, the rising symbol of peace. Together, they (Midoriya) peel the potatoes. Then they (Midoriya again) season the vegetables and they (also Midoriya) let them simmer. Once everything is boiled they (Midoriya of course) put everything into a tray to bake in the oven that they (Todoroki handles this one) pre-heated.All with ten minutes to spare.“Mmmm! It smells really good!” Midoriya beams, peeking through the oven window at the dish. “Well done Todoroki-kun!”“I couldn’t have done it without you.” In truth, Midoriya did most of the work. Todoroki will only take credit when Bakugou returns home but never beyond that. Bowing his head a fraction, hoping it conveys his gratitude, Todoroki smiles. “Thank you, Midoriya.”“I guess I should get going before Kacchan finds out you kind of cheate-”The sound of keys rustling at the front door has never been a foreboding thing. Not in this house. It’s always been a welcomed noise, tinged with excitement and relief. But by god it is foreboding now. Midoriya and Todoroki exchange looks, both equally flustered. Up to this point, they had been doing pretty well with the whole thing. Neither of them had considered the final details of the plan.Todoroki looks at the clock on the wall, which confirms it has been exactly two hours since he left. Damn Bakugou and his chronic punctuality. He is about to suggest Midoriya hides in Bakugou’s Meow And Me secret shrine cupboard, or jump out the window, but there’s no time for words. The door opens. Midoriya hops onto the ceiling, holding himself there with his quirk. It’s not the most conventional of hiding spots, but it’s strategic. The structure of the building means from the front door, Midoriya’s position is in fact impossible to see. It’s then Todoroki realises he’s standing in the hallway, gormless and dumbfounded. “Good timing,” he manages whilst walking towards the oven. “It’s ready.”“Eh? You actually cooked?” Bakugou asks from the front door.“I did.” No, he did not.Midoriya crawls across the ceiling above his head, searching the room for his escape options. The kitchen is unkind and cruel, offering nowhere to run and not a slither of hope. But the window in the living room is already partyway open. With his quirk, Midoriya could get there in no time at all. Todoroki just needs to provide a distraction so that can happen. Pointing towards the window, Todoroki nods. He hopes Midoriya understands what he means. They've been friends long enough by now, he sure hopes so. There’s no time to talk it over at this point. Boots shrugged off, Bakugou makes his way down the hallway. “Smells like it’s burning…”Eyes wide, Todoroki dashes to the oven. Forgoing oven gloves, his quirk is exceptionally useful in times like this, he rescues the food from oblivion. The top is charred a little, but it’s not terrible. At least, Todoroki thinks so. From the ceiling Midoriya offers a thumbs up when their eyes meet. Ever the supportive friend. Bakugou’s footsteps loom closer. He absolutely cannot enter the kitchen, or it’s all over.“It’s fine Bakugou,” Todoroki brings it from the kitchen to the table he and Midoriya (mostly Midoriya) had set. “See?”The timing is just right, Bakugou appears from the hallway just as Todoroki places the dish onto the mat in the middle of the table. The kitchen is now a blindspot. All Todoroki has to do is keep Bakugou occupied with the meal. He comes forward to inspect the dish, eyes narrowed.“You made this?”Bakugou has every right to be suspicious, but Todoroki is unwavering in his composure. Even when Midoriya is crawling across the ceiling in the most unheroic and awkward way he’s ever seen anybody move. Ceiling climbing is not exactly something pro-heroes really have to do that often, Todoroki supposes.“Yes.” No.Eyebrow raised, Bakugou’s lips twitch. “What’s in it?”“Food.”“What kind of food?”“Food.” Todoroki can feel the scathing gaze of both his best friend and boyfriend on him. Quickly, he adds, “Potato.”“What else?”In his peripheral, Todoroki can see Midoriya has made it out of the kitchen. He’s on the final crawl to the window now. Brilliant. They’re almost there.“You’ll find out.”Bakugou hums at that, arms folded.“Alright, I’m gonna just fucking say it. This has Deku written all over it.”Uh oh. Code red. Midoriya freezes in his place on the ceiling, leg dangling halfway towards the window ledge.Todoroki prods the dish. It’s up to him to carry this through, act calm and collected. “I don’t see anything...”“Stop playing coy you bastard you know exactly what I mean.”That’s precisely when Midoriya starts to slip from his position on the ceiling. Todoroki pushes Bakugou towards one of the chairs, ushering for his friend to make his escape. Hopping from the ceiling, Midoriya creeps closer to the window.“Look Bakugou,” Todoroki starts firmly. “I cooked this lovely meal for the both of us. It’s rude that you won’t shut-up and eat it.”Of all things, Bakugou trembles at the words. Todoroki cocks his head at the reaction, confusion growing. Then Bakugou ducks his head, shoulders shaking more notably. Oh. Even Midoriya finds himself staring at the rare sight. Todoroki doesn’t blame him. “Lovely meal,” Bakugou sputters between wheezes, gasping for air. The english rolls off his tongue smoothly. Despite the absurdity of the situation, Todoroki very much likes it when Bakugou laughs this way. Breathless and wild. Beautiful, the kind that is bold and brazen. “What the fuck.”Resuming his exit, Midoriya has one leg out the window.“Oi nerd,” Bakugou’s laughter ceases, eyes snapping to pin Midoriya in place. “Where the hell do you think you’re going?”Todoroki blinks slow, presses a hand to his temple. Maybe it was foolish, to think they had a chance at giving Bakugou the slip. Waving from the window, Midoriya climbs back into the apartment.“Hello Kacchan…”The nervousness from school has all but evapourated. Nowadays Midoriya is brimming with confidence. His cheeky side pokes through far more too. Right now, however, he has the audacity to look defeated which only tarnishes Todoroki’s well-crafted image of innocence in this entire incident. They were winning! Dragging a chair out from the table, Bakugou straddles it. It doesn’t matter that he looks absurdly attractive whilst doing it, Todoroki stands by the fact it’s still ridiculous that he opts to sit in the most unconventional ways wherever he goes. That extends to squatting on their sofa and lounging over most of the furniture in their home not intended to be sat on.“I didn’t say anything about you being allowed help.”Well. The cat is out the bag, metaphorically speaking. Potatoes have been peeled, and not by Todoroki’s hands.“You didn’t not say anything either,” he counters. It’s true. “Midoriya is my dearest friend and I knew he would not leave me in this time of great distress.”“Todoroki-kun has a point, Kacchan, if it wasn’t in the rules then-““-Whatever I don’t care!” Bakugou snaps, throwing a glare between the pair of them. “You two always do this I should’ve expected it from the start. Together you’re a fucking menace - and that’s not all!”Slamming a hand on the table, he leans towards the dish.“I hate that this shit actually looks fucking good.”“Haha well the thing is, Todoroki did most of the work. I just supervised!!” It’s a lie and a bold one. The only person capable of succeeding in this moment is Midoriya. Somehow, Bakugou shows no signs of catching it. That might be because he’s still staring down the food. Clearly, he is conflicted.“Well! I’ll be off now, enjoy!”Midoriya is dashing to the door with a hasty wave when to both of their surprise, Bakugou calls after him.“Oi. I ain’t setting another plate, go get it yourself.”Glancing between them curiously, Midoriya casts Todoroki a look. If Midoriya can’t figure it out as the Resident Kacchan Expert then Todoroki highly doubts as the Bakugou Translator he can either. He shrugs to convey his bewilderment, but the small slip of Bakugou’s frown tells Todoroki all he needs to know. It’s been a while since Midoriya had stayed for dinner, afterall.Midoriya goes to fetch a plate, a knowing smile spreading across his face. They’re all in on a secret, one Bakugou will not admit. It’s contagious, and Todoroki finds himself also smiling. He’s content, and whilst Bakugou may not outwardly say he’s pleased about how the evening has turned out, he is too. Their eyes meet, Todoroki rests his hands over Bakugou’s and squeezes. It’s a mistake, because Bakugou misses nothing. Bringing Todoroki’s hands up close to inspect, he clicks his tongue. Figuring out what happened is hardly a mystery.“Idiot.”Todoroki doesn’t take the insult to heart, not when Bakugou is mouthing the word against his skin between kisses to each tiny cut.“I would peel a thousand more potatoes for you,” Todoroki says earnestly because right now it’s the closest he’ll get to saying the words burning on his tongue and bubbling in his chest.Cheeks flushed, Bakugou averts his gaze. He seems receptive enough to the words, hearing the things nestled between them.“Ah- uh, that is really sweet but actually I peeled the potatoes?? And considering how much of a disaster it was when you tried, I don’t think you should try to peel them ever again yet alone a thousand. I’m confessing for your own good, Todoroki-kun.” Well.“I changed my mind,” Bakugou says. There’s a gleam in his eyes that betrays the fabricated venom of his tone. He enjoys their company, even if he complains about how Todoroki and Midoriya together in the same room is unbearable the entire time.“You don’t get to stay for dinner.”“That’s rude, Kacchan. Todoroki-kun really cares about you a lot and wanted to make sure this was good.”Something about the way Midoriya speaks piques Todoroki’s curiosity. There’s an edge to it as slippery as the ice he conjures with his quirk. Bakugou sits up in his seat, leering. No...“Good? You sure about that, nerd?”Todoroki looks between the pair of them, shocked. Again for emphasis: no.“Good might be the wrong word…” Midoriya has the audacity to look apologetic when Todoroki catches his eyes before grinning. There is nothing apologetic about his expression anymore. “Maybe there is a better one.” “Lovely,” Bakugou says without hesitation, as if they’ve rehearsed this or can somehow read each other’s minds. “A lovely meal.”“A lovely meal,” Midoriya echoes. The grin on Bakugou’s face is nothing short of diabolical. “Well then, let’s not let this lovely meal go to waste.”This is not happening. A Bakugou-Midoriya partnership is fluent and expected in pro-hero fights often. They are quite a formidable team and impressive - the wonder duo, as many have coined them. But never outside of that. Todoroki has never in his life been betrayed by the pair of them in such a way.The worst thing is nobody is ever going to believe him. It’s two in the morning when the guilt starts to set in, just as Todoroki expected.[text] IM SORRY…… [text] i know i betrayed you in your own home tonight but it was so funny [text] lovely meal…. [text] i didn’t mean to please forgive me !! [text] BUT IT WAS REALLY FUNNY AOSDHASDA [text] I know you’re reading these i see your receipts [text] N O PLEASE DON’T LEAVE ME ON READ ;-;Scrolling through the messages, Todoroki puts his phone down on the bedside table. The incident at the dinner table merits a few hours of being left on read. It’s justified pettiness. It doesn’t take long for Bakugou’s phone to be attacked. The vibrations against the wood is irritating, but Todoroki won’t yield. Turning over, Bakugou groans into Todoroki’s shoulder. The arm slung around him tightens its hold, teasing and playful. “You can leave me on read all you want but I’m right here with you in this bed.” Another series of pings go off on Bakguou’s phone. “God - just reply to the nerd already.” He will in the morning, once the bitter sting of betrayal has simmered down, singed from his soul.“Oi…” Todoroki closes his eyes. Everything is still, calm. It’s a quiet night. Serene. There’s no sirens or incidents outside. No disruptions, no disturbances. Nothing at all. “Are you- ? Hey, bastard. You can’t leave people on read in real life.” Yes you can.“Un-fucking-believable. You’re such a weirdo.”Bakugou rolls back over, detaching himself from Todoroki. His breath hitches, in the quiet it’s louder than it should be. Tension that wasn’t there before builds, growing more uncomfortable by the second. And then it breaks, with a rush of words that knock the breath from Todoroki’s lungs.“But I love you anyway.”Todoroki buries his face into the pillow, he needs to hide any evidence of swooning. Of all the times and places Bakugou could have said something like that, he chooses to drop it now. It’s as stupid as it is perfect, in the aftermath of the great potato peeling feud. Somehow, that’s even more endearing. It’s not that it hasn’t been said before between them, but it’s the most open and direct Todoroki has heard the sentiment being uttered.“Just try and leave that on read, bitch.”Oh my god. That’s the catalyst. A reminder of how absurd the evening has been. Todoroki turns over to face the one and only Bakugou Katsuki, shaking with laughter that rises up through his chest. It crinkles the corners of his eyes and pulls the smile over his lips. He tugs Bakugou closer and isn’t quite sure what he wants to do next. Kiss him senseless or lovingly trace patterns over his skin with his hands or nestle up against him until the sun peeks through the curtains. But he is at least sure about one thing. Potato peeling aside, his life is truly better than he ever dared to dreamed it could be.
