"B-rank, B-rank, B-rank, B-rank!"Kakashi sighed and closed his book. "You three will be doing the C-Rank, and I will be doing the B-Rank while you three safely remain on the site of that C-Rank. Are we clear?"Naruto pouted, Sasuke grunted, and Sakura kept her gaze away from the eyes of the bemused hokage and a stern Kakashi. "Yes, sensei." grumbled the genin of Team 7 out of sync. Hiruzen gave Team 7 a serious look. "Remember, the mission is split into two pieces. You three will assist the client's lab in securing the building from potential theft and ensuring that no sabotage remains from a recent break in. Kakashi will investigate the burglary, determine if the intruder was a shinobi and follow the trail to locate said potential shinobi.""I read the mission scroll, ya know."Kakashi gave Naruto a considering look. "Really? What is the name of the client, then?""Ummm....""Anyways," Hiruzen interjected, "you are expected in two days. Dismissed."
Iruka leafed through a stack of papers and glanced over the logs on his desk. "Team 7 has been on a mission for a week."The other Chunin continued to sort reports without looking up. "From what I recall, they should be returning within a couple days.""Wasn't there a chance of an enemy shinobi?""If that comes up, Kakashi will probably send us a hawk."Iruka placed the active mission log back into a drawer and went back to sorting reports.
Koetetsu yawned as he looked out of the gate at the dusty road that wound through the forests that surrounded Konoha. "Team 7's been gone for a while."Izumo continued polishing his unused set of kunai. "Mhm."Koetetsu frowned. "Weren't we supposed to get a summon or hawk by now if they were staying out longer?""Mhm.""Think something happened? Kiba hummed and placed his hands behind his head as he strode forwards. "Sure was an easy mission, wasn't it?" He drawled as Team 8 continued home to Konoha. "Yes, but we should maintain vigilance until we have returned safely to the village." Replied Shino. "Come on, we're in friendly territory and haven't seen anyone for two days." "And yet two weeks ago you were nearly captured by a half bit bandit. Why? Because you were daydreaming instead of keeping watch.""Hey, that jerk doused himself in some weird odor neutralizer.""You still should have seen him.""Its not like you were doing any better with your 'advanced kikaichū scouting technique.'""Boys."Kiba grunted in Kurenai's direction while Shino continued walking. "Lets continue to keep senses up. Hinata, could you check the area?" said Kurenai. Hinata nodded and turned on her Byakugan, then immediately stumbled and let out a gasp. Kurenai immediately grabbed on to Hinata's shoulder. "What do you see, Hinata?" "T-T-Team 7, but their chakra is... wrong?" Replied Hinata, wide-eyed. "Nice, we can go meet up with them!" Cheered Kiba. "Wait. What's wrong with their Chakra?"Hinata bit the inside of her check. "Its... lower intensity? Like they were chakra clones. Also, they aren't wearing their headbands, there are two Sasuke, three of Naruto, and I'm not seeing Sakura or their Sensei."

Kurenai sighed. "Stay here while I check this out. "
Leaving behind her pouting team, Kurenai bounded off the road in the direction Hinata had pointed. "Incoming Friendly, Team 8!" Yelled Kurenai as she burst through the tree line finding... three Naruto and two Sasuke. Huh. "What are you doing so fa-" Kurenai quickly ducked beneath a barrage of Shuriken, jumped over a fireball, and noted that the supposed genin were leaking enough chakra that she could tell their location without needing to pulse her own chakra. Kurenai quickly wove through five hand signs. "Other-Wordly Image: Adhesive Leaves!"The Genjutsu took hold on four of the 'genin', but the fifth had already dashed out of range. The remaining 'Naruto' narrowed his eyes, ran through hand-signs and dove underground.
Hiding like a mole? Did Kakashi actually teach Naruto that?
"SENSEEIIIII!""I told you to stay put!" yelled Kurenai as she tracked the leaking chakra rising through the ground, heading towards her foolish genin team. "We can help defeat Team 7 if they are being pun- huh?!" Exclaimed Kiba as 'Naruto' burst out of the ground, shoving a hand coated in lightning chakra into Kiba. Kiba spasmed and starting falling, only for 'Naruto' to... put him over his shoulder and shunshin away?"KIBA!" screamed Hinata.
Not again.
"Restrain the other clones of Team 7 and stay put!" Kurenai growled to the shocked Hinata and Shino before following with a shunshin of her own.

Kurenai slammed into 'Naruto', throwing the stunned Kiba free. 'Naruto' growled as she pinned his arms and he started channeling chakra in his mouth.

Kurenai drew and slashed a Kunai across a Tenketsu on the neck. "GAAH!" 'Naruto' shoved her off and hissed as his wound started bleeding... that wasn't blood and he pulled out the most illegible explosive seal Kurenai had ever seen. Kurenai calmly circled, wary for any sudden movement.

An arrow ripped through 'Naruto's Stomach and lightning erupted across his body. Kurenai blinked as he fell over and two Anbu jumped in to the clearing, one holding a bow and the other an impressive number of scrolls. One of the Anbu moved to start applying seals to 'Naruto' and the other walked over to Kurenai, taking care to not step in a pile of something that had come out of 'Naruto' instead of blood. "I'd like to request your team's cooperation for an A rank situation."

Iruka grunted as the sound of shinobi on his roof woke him up.
Who is tramping around at 2 in the morning?
He sat up and opened his window to look outside. A stream of Anbu were going from the direction of the Kage Tower to the north gate and what Iruka assumed to be the Anbu HQ. One took notice of him and gestured for him to come out and talk.
Guess I'm not getting any sleep tonight.
Danzo grumpily glared at the masked Root operative that had woke him up just two hours after he fell sleep. "Run that by me again.""Team 7, which contains the last Uchiha and the weapon are MIA, presumed captured and the retrieval team sent after them encountered unknown hostile chakra clones that seemed to be based off of them. "Years of experience with things going wrong allowed Danzo to remain silent instead of cursing or throwing weapons at furniture like he would've done as fresh shinobi.
Coffee first, then I'll place the rest of Root on standby.

Neji drank water from the mug on his nightstand and started to get dressed, only for someone to start rapping at his window. "You got the tower summon? Any clue what is going on?" "No." Neji bit out as he started strapping Kunai to his legs. "Could you take a look around with your eyes? I heard a lot of people moving around on my way here." Neji rolled his eyes, but activated his Byakugan. There were approximately ten times the Shinobi on the rooftops as normal for night time. And heading very quickly towards him was- "MY RIVAL, YOU MUST WAKE UP!"-Lee, jumping over the wall to the Hyuga Compound without a care in the world. Neji resisted the urge to facepalm as Lee barreled through the window and stared at him. "Oh, you are awake. I had assumed you would be getting your Beauty Sleep at this hour." Tenten snorted. "Lee, shut up. ""There is no need to be rude." "You are going to wake up people that are trying to sleep." "Just grab the rest of your gear so we ca-"Another green blur barreled through the window. "MY STUDENTS! WE MUST ASSEMBLE!" bellowed Gai, ignoring the fact that it was 3 in the morning.Neji bit his tongue. "Can't we just meet up at the tower?" "OF COURSE!"

The Anbu operative Swallow-03 impatiently tapped his pencil against a clipboard while fellow operative Badger-17 kept their eyes closed and pulsed chakra towards the jar of 'something clone goo' that had been extracted from the captured 'something clone' that had been brought to their outpost. "Well?" "Well, it isn't blood but kinda is." Swallow twirled his pencil. "Any more info?""Its got a bunch of stuff in it that's got a similar composition to plasma, but the amount of iron is way higher than normal." Badger paused a moment before speaking again. "Also, anything like a blood cell is instead a chunk of chakra." Swallow scratched down the info, then copied it onto a second scroll with a hand sign. "Continue." "Those pieces of Chakra seem to be composed mostly of Yang Chakra." Another pause. "It also has a really bizarre elemental balance." "Can you clarify on that?""Normal chakra flow in the body tends to have a mix of all five elements naturally, but the ratio is in this stuff is absurd; 50% Earth, 25% Lightning, and the rest is split between the remaining three.""What's a normal ratio?" "A Shinobi with an Earth Nature tends to be around 33% Earth." Swallow blinked and then wrote down and copied a couple more lines. "Anything else you can get just from poking at it?""Its still connected to the thing we extracted it from."Swallow dropped his pencil. "What?""The chakra is pulsing in time with its- his? - heartbeat." Swallow stood up and looked over at the containment cell that hadn't fully been sealed yet. Despite being covered in suppression seals and behind one-way glass, the 'clone' looked back at him.
Here's hoping the reinforcements from home arrive soon and take this 'project' off of my hands.

Orange-67 looped his finger through a shuriken and started twirling it, ignoring the annoyed look Pink shot him.

Orange-67 strode forward and put an arm around Blue, who tried to ignore him while inspecting an explosive note.

Orange-67 stuck out his tongue at Blue, but stretched back and began to pull together some water chakra.
It would be good to remove the outsiders from their territory.
Hinata adjusted her grip on Kurenai's back while searching with her Byakugan. "A-Another group of clones is moving towards the east flank four klicks north of camp. Two Kakashis, one Sakura and one Naruto." The Hawk-masked anbu finished tying down the trip-seal tied to a flare. "Its time for us to get moving."Quietly, the group ran back towards camp with Kurenai placing sound-dampening area Genjutsu behind them. "Are we going to retreat, Sensei?"Hawk slapped another sensor seal down on a trunk as they passed by. "Well, we've got two anbu squads and our Team against 14 confirmed Clones and 15-20 suspected clones nearby." Hinata's grip tightened as they jumped over a river in a bound four times as fast as Hinata could on a good day. "Abandoning the area before they attack us will lose some information in exchange for ensuring that we can provide what information we have already gained."Hawk jumped up to a tree branch to meet with another Anbu while Kurenai slowed down to a jog towards where Team 8's tent had been pitched. "Will we um... do a f-fighting retreat?" Shino waved them over while Kiba scowled at the wraps he was rebinding around his torso. "Not you or your team mates."Kurenai let Hinata down, who plodded over to a rock and pulled out her ointment kit.
