Kate: *Dressed in a light flannel pink flannel and a white undershirt, light Blue jeans and some simple flats on her feet* standing in front of her mirror* Ok… *she sighs fixing her nose ring and pushes her Red hair behind her ear in a giddy nervous sort of way*
It’s going to be fine….
*she thought as she stares at her Unisonic phone laying at the edge of her bed*
she’ll call.
*Kate was nervous for a number of reasons but the one that stood out the most was her and Emaline had only kissed for the first time a week ago. Now why was this so nerve racking? It’s because Kate didn’t know weather they were officially going out or not*
Maybe I should… call her.
*her thoughts only growing more nervous as she sat down on her bed*
she was suppose to call around 3:00.
*now staring at the clock on the wall as her phone rings and she’s quick to pick it up* Hello?
Emaline: Hey Kate *says with a smile into the phone* Sorry I didn’t call earlier. *now with a quiet whisper* I just- *sighs* I had to finish some chores around the house. *standing in her kitchen in jeans, also a white shirt, a black baseball jersey with white polka dots and her black Doc Martens* Are you doing anything right now?
Kate: *looking around her room and out the window* Um- n-no I don’t think so. *smiles* I’m just in my room while my dad’s getting ready for a date with Luke’s mom. *looking at her feet while laying back in bed*
Emaline: I know we’re suppose to go on a date so um- Meet me outside? *smiles into the phone*
Kate: *her pupils dilate hearing the question coming through her phone and smiles unable to say a word for a few minutes in a daze*
Emaline: *chuckles but grows worried by the second* Kate…? Are you ok?
Kate: *snaps out of it hearing Emaline’s voice* Oh-! Um- *breathless chuckle* Y-yeah I’m ok.
Emaline: *twirls the phone cord* Meet me outside? *smiles*
Kate: Sure. *smiles*
Emaline: See ya soon Sweetheart. *smiles and hangs up the phone*
Kate: *puts the phone down as her stomach fills with butterflies as she lays back on her bed* I think I’m in love *she thought as she stares at her ceiling*
Emaline: *cuffs her jeans and heads out the door to walk to Kate’s house*
Kate: *still laying on her bed feeling infinite as her dad enters the room*
Mr. Messner: Kate! *enters the room with a smile excited*
Kate: *shoots up now quickly sitting up again* Dad! *exclaims clearly embarrassed as a Reddish Pink shade invades her face, she’s blushing*
Mr. Messner: Sorry- *looks at his daughter* I didn’t mean to- *sighs with a slight smile* I just uh-
Kate: *looks at her dad* No- *smiles with understanding* It’s ok. *now curious as to what her dad was going to say* What is it?
Mr. Messner: *gets a scared puppy look on his face* Do I-? *worried with nerves* Do I look good? *sighs as he looks at his outfit which consisted of a White dress shirt with Blue vertical stripes, Brown dress pants, a Blue tie, and Black dress shoes*
Kate: Yeah, *smiles* you look great.
Mr. Messner: Yeah?! *chuckles with nervous excitement*
Kate: *chuckles at her dads happiness* She’s gonna love it. *smiles at her dad*
Mr. Messner: *now breathless with a smile* Ok… Well- *chuckles* I better go, have fun tonight sweetie.*smiles walking out the bedroom door to front door*
Kate: Bye Dad!
Mr. Messner: *opens the door to leave and bumps into Emaline* Oh-! *smiles* Emaline! *surprised to see a student at his house* What brings you to the Messner household?! *excited curiosity*
Emaline: Hi Mr. Messner um- is Kate home? *smiles with gentle curiosity*
Mr. Messner: Kate! *calls to his daughter* Emaline’s here to see you! *smiles* well- come in! *excited for kate as Emaline steps inside* she’s in her bedroom and will be out shortly. *gives Emaline a reassured nod*
Kate: *overhears her dad* Shit! *scrambles off her bed to fix her hair and outfit* Good. *as she whispers to herself approving her outfit while applying clear Chapstick*
Mr. Messner: *after a few minutes of an awkward silence clears his throat* I- *chuckles awkwardly grabbing his keys* have a date that- *looks at his watch* I am late for-! *scrambles to the door* Uh- *looks at Emaline* Sorry- *slight smile* bye-! *leaves*
Emaline: *chuckles at Mr. Messner’s awkward exit then shifts her focus as to where Kate is* Kate? *walking around wondering where Kate is then a few minutes later gives up and sits on the couch in front of the TV*
Kate: *walks out her room and down the stairs into the family room* Um- *tucks her hair lightly behind her ear* Hey *a slight awkward smile comes across her face as Emaline turns her head and catches her eye*
Emaline: Hey *she has a beaming smile on her face as she gets up from the couch* I like this outfit- *chuckles with that same smile that hasn’t left her face as she walks closer to Kate* It’s so cute *smiles*
Kate: *that familiar pink glow invades her cheeks again* Uh- *smiles in a daze and quickly snaps herself out of it* Thanks- *still smiling* Y-you look great too. *looking at Emaline* Um- *panicking* I’m- S-so *now starting to stumble over her words* sorry I D-didn’t meet you *takes a short breath cause she’s panicking* I h-had to get ready and I just- *she could feel her heart beating really fast as she tries to finish the sentence*
Emaline: *puts her hand on Kate’s arm* Kate-! *smiles as she laughs lightly at Kate’s panic and unnecessary apology* It’s ok- *smiles as she locks eyes with her girlfriend* c’mon *grabs Kate’s hand and pulls her towards the door*
Kate: What? *confused with a smile* Where are we--? *following behind Emaline*
Emaline: C’mon! *smiles gently leading her girlfriend outside to a bicycle*
Kate: *looks at the bike with a smile* What’s this? *pointing at the brand new freshly painted bicycle*
Emaline: Well- *smiles* I know you ride a bike to school and I know they are expensive so…
Kate: *in pure happy shock* WHAT?! *smiles in disbelief* No- *looking at the bike* No-! Emaline- *still smiling* I can’t accept this!
Emaline: YES YOU CAN! *smiles* After all you’ve done for me- *pulling Kate towards the bike* you deserve this.
Kate: No-! Emaline *laughs in shock with a smile* I can’t! *still holding onto Emaline’s hand*
Emaline: Well- there’s a no return policy and I believe my favorite Sophomore deserves this gift. *smiles*
Kate: I can’t believe you did this for me. *staring at her brand new bike with a smile*
Emaline: *kisses her cheek* You’re cute. *hops on the back of the bike* I personally can’t wait for my now junior girlfriend to drive me to school everyday. *smiles* Maybe we should take this into town for a test drive. *still smiling*
Kate:
Wait… Did she just say girlfriend?!
*she thought as she looks at Emaline with a smile*
Oh my god…Ok.
*takes a breath*
Emaline: Kate…? *grows worried by the second as Kate doesn’t answer her* Kate? Are you ok? *looking at Kate who’s in a small daze*
Kate: *snaps out of the daze* Um- *meets Emaline’s eyes with a smile* Yeah- *smiles* I-I’m ok.
Emaline: *pecks Kates lips without hesitation gently holding Kate’s waist*
Kate: *slightly kisses back in a kiss that felt like a blink of an eye*
Emaline: *pulls back and hops on the back of the bike again* C’mon Kate! *smiles*
Kate: *yet again in a short daze as she stares at her now confirmed girlfriend on the back of her brand new bike*
Emaline: Kate! *smiles looking at Kate*
Kate: *quickly snaps out of it hearing her name* Um- Coming! *runs over and gets on her bike and becomes stuck in a state in infinite happiness as she petals into town to spend the young Summer night with her girlfriend*
