Klaus stood beside Five trying to listen to the new plan or the lack of it; at this point, he couldn't even keep up ¿were they giving up or doing something to fight against the imminent death by disintegration? It sounded awful but honestly he couldn't even care at the moment. He was focusing all his strength on standing straight with a little help from the table, of course. His hands were still trembling from the shock of realizing he was actually inmortal. A spear had completely shattered his chest! He couldn't believe it, he felt life leaving his body and his lungs as they stopped working. All those years and he didn't even suspected it, he just thought he had very good luck; he was a good for nothing as his siblings and Reginald used to say. His head felt as if he had a whole bow of tissues stuck up his nose, he could sense how everything everybody was saying reached him a couple of minutes later, just as if he was watching a slow motion picture. He guessed it was just a side effect of coming back to life. Suddenly, his vision started to fill with black spots all around, he blinked hoping and praying that way, they would clear up; he felt his face starting to get warm and his hands starting to tingle; he couldn't keep the, up to now, strong hold on the table. As soon as his fingers let go the side of the table, he started stumbling in his place. He kept blinking constantly expecting that would help him gain focus again; it didn't. His legs felt like wet noodles, he couldn't keep straight and he couldn't hold on to anything. - Hey, bud, are you okay? Was that Diego? it sounded like Diego, the concern on his voice more noticeable than anything.Klaus tried to answer the question but he soon found out he couldn't nod without getting nauseous so he tried to talk. - Di...Diego, s'thing 's wrong. That was all that came out of his mouth, a couple of terrifying slurs become darkness welcomed him.
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
- Shit, shit! Diego said as Klaus' knees buckled and he tried to catch him before his face hit the hard floor. As soon as he was able to hold him he realized he was completely limp against his hold. He gently, as he could, kneeled and let him rest in his lap. -Klaus? said Five not quite understanding what was happening before him. He just saw a black blur running towards him and then both of his brothers on the floor. He couldn't react, he couldn't jump, he just didn't expect it. -Klaus! Klaus! Damn it!Diego said as he gently slapped his cheeks in search of any kind of response. He didn't get any, just Klaus' face moving from one place to another as he got slapped. -Diego, what the hell is going on?Five said kneeling beside them and conveying everybody's thoughts at the moment. Diego took a minute to look around at all his siblings' concerned faces looking down, not sure of what to do. -I really don't know, I thought he was okay. - You thought he was okay? why wouldn't you think that in the first place? said Five with a questioning look. Diego looked at him for a minute. He thought about telling them but there were more important issues at hand. -Just help me pick him up. We can talk about that later. Nobody questioned him and helped him stand up and get Klaus on the couch. As soon as he was settled, Allison placed the back of her hand on his forehead, more as a sign of comfort than to check anything but removed it quickly after that. -He's burning up. Guys, we have to take him to a doctor or something! Not because of disbelief Diego reached him and touched his forehead as well, -damn it, Allison was right, he was burning up- and now that he noticed, he had started trembling. -Klaus, come on man, open your eyes. You're scaring everybody. Diego kept talking to him expecting he would come back to life as dramatically as he had done it a few minutes ago. -Should we take him to a room, get him settled?Luther intervened shyly and everybody nodded along. Luther managed to kneel, scoop him up like a child and take him upstairs. He couldn't avoid looking right where he had obviously been wounded. He had a huge whole smeared with dried blood that extended to his shirt. Obviously something had happened and he was going to find out what.
