A pair of black boots splashed through a series of small puddles as their wearer, a tall, brown fox, trudged through the damp forest grass.Near a patch of trees, Excalibur spotted some destroyed E-100 robots. Tilting his head in curiosity, he walked through a small puddle of oil and started scavenging the robots for any useful parts. “Hmm, let’s see…this could possibly go for good money.” A couple of the E-100s started to smoke as he poked and pulled some components out of them, and after a while, Excalibur managed to find some useful components.Through his continued scavenging, Excalibur’s ear twitched as the sound of footsteps approached. He whips around, only to see he’s surrounded by a group of eight Egg Pawns. Without any hesitation, the bounty hunter slid Zonix out of its scabbard and swung its blade, effortlessly slashing two of the pawns in half.Four of the remaining Egg Pawns tried to rush at him and stab him with their lances while the other two prepared a charge blast from their cannons. Excalibur quickly deflected each lance, slicing the arms off one, the legs off another and tossing his sword at the other two. The blade slashed right through both. The gunner pawns proceeded to fire at Excalibur, who in turn quickly dashed and darted around, avoiding the gun fire before delivering an upward slash to one and stabbing the other all the way through.
Now finished with them, he set his sights on the one stuck on the ground without legs.
But before moving over to it, the other remaining Egg Pawn charged at him with reckless abandon, even though it had no arms or real way of doing damage it didn’t care. With a swift kick, Excalibur broke and sent it to the ground in a heap.“Very strange, it was already weird to find E-100 remains, but having a random squad of Egg pawns attack…” He glanced down at the E-100s, his mind swimming with curiosity as to who could’ve destroyed them. Destruction of that level brought his thoughts to one thing; A new bounty. The fox looked further, searching for anything that might help indicate what happened, and after a while of searching through the scrap, he found what he was looking for, a slim steel slab, labelled ‘Memory Drive’. The casing was a bit scratched up, but it looked like it would still work. He checked the screened device on his arm, pulling a small cable from it and plugging it in.Scans from the drive showed up on the screen, and he clicked through until finding the robot’s last memory file. He opened the video. As Excalibur watched, he noticed the E-100s that were with this one chasing down what looked like a group of rebels and then saw a figure swoop in from above on Extreme Gear. They flew forward in front of the rebels and then turned around and quickly launched what looked like a glowing carrot projectile, but it seemed to have been launched too far as it landed behind the rebels and exploded, before the robot’s feed ended.Excalibur focused on the person who caused the explosion, then stopped the video and focused his sight on them. He was now certain of the Extreme Gear, but he also had a better look at the appearance of the one using it. It appeared to be a white, female Mobian Rabbit. Around each of her ears was a large red ribbon tied in a bow. She was clad in a teal vest with a golden button over a red sleeveless shirt, and teal pants with red stripes at the end of the legs. His observations seemed correct about her clothing but now he was sure what she looked like. Her muzzle, peach in color, with a small black nose, and beautiful green eyes complimented with long black eyelashes. The teal markings around her eyes and on the tips of her ears stood out, and lastly, her fur was flared out into two points at the back of her head.He looked through her profile a couple times.“…She’s pretty cute.” Excalibur muttered before shaking his head. “Nevermind that. Hmm…” Looking at the file, he realized the video was from only two hours ago. “Hmm, then Carrotia shouldn’t be too far.”Excalibur slid the memory drive into his pocket and looked around. Scouting the area, he started searching for any clues that could lead him in the proper direction. His eyes widened as, between two trees, he saw what looked like two parts of an Extreme Gear. He strode forward and removed them.He continued walking, not finding any other pieces, though he was becoming worried that he might’ve taken the wrong direction until catching a strange smell in the air.The fox quickly followed the odd scent and found the remains of Carrotia’s Extreme Gear. The board was quite damaged, and parts of its casing were laying on the ground near the board while the board itself was halfway stuck in a bush. The bounty hunter pulled the board from the bush and took a look at it. It appeared yellow and white, and while very scuffed up, it still seemed functional. “Seems she’s on foot.” The hunter spoke aloud as he carried the board with him. He eventually found himself at the edge of the forest, outside of which was a large open plain. The grass was tall and green, and seemed to stretch on infinitely with the only landmarks being some trees and boulders scattered across.Placing the board against a tree at the edge of the forest, Excalibur began his trek through the plains. However, after less than a minute, his ears twitched as he heard a feminine voice.“Ughh, when are those robots going to get here?”Carrotia growled in annoyance and boredom as she tapped her foot in irritation.Excalibur saw the mysterious rabbit and quickly ducked into the grass. And if you aren’t part of that rebel group, why did you come to find me?” The rabbit gazed at Excalibur, her lips curling up into a devious grin. “Does the handsome fox in front of me have a crush on me?~”Excalibur quickly retorted, “N-no! I’m a bounty hunter, and from what info I gathered, you have a generous bounty on your head from the Acorn Kingdom.” He pointed his sword at the white furred rabbit.“Oh really?“ Carrotia quickly darted over to the swordsman, catching him off guard, but she didn’t have intent on attacking. Instead, she glanced at his clothing and sword. The brown furred fox was dressed in a red tunic with white accents and two brown belts each with a golden buckle, black cape with part of it clipped around his neck and the inside of the cape being blue, lastly he wore white gloves, dark gray pants, and black boots with white accents. The sword in his hand was a mild red with white accents.Excalibur stood still, but moved his sword close to him.The coy rabbit commented on his stiff stance, “What’s the problem honey?
