Work Text
The shuttle fight wasn't the first time Bones had seen James T. Kirk. It was at the bar where the other cadets and enlisters were partying before they were flown to San Fransico. Well, they were partying to shitty music. He was drowning his sorrows. The whole place stunk of overprized booze and a sea of alpha stink and omega pheromones. Bones had seen Kirk walk into the bar, smiling widely at the prospects. His heart had done the thing and skipped a beat. His dick demanded to introduce himself to the cute, short shirt wearing that exposed a sliver of midriff every time he moved. But Bones ignored the appendage and continued to drink his choice of amber. That didn't mean he couldn't watch the blonde hair and become more and more enchanted by Kirk's charming smile.
Bones watched the fight break out. Rolling his eyes at the alphas puffing their chests. The beta's yelling at them to stop falling on deaf ears. Kirk was on the scrawnier side for an alpha, but he still held his own against the four of them. He could have stepped in and helped the poor kid. The fives glasses, however, laughed in his face. Captain Pike intervened, whistling so loud it brought the music to a stop. Bones left money on the table begrudgingly and shuffled along with everyone else. Back in his dingy hotel room, Bones didn't shower. What would be the point when the bed was probably as dirty as he was? His dumb drunk alpha brain wouldn't stop sharing the images of the stranger, though. Providing enough material to sponsor an erection and mustering enough energy to get him off.
Damn, pushy betas. Kicking Bones out of his hiding spot. They never listen to reason. But fierce dark eyes, stubborn attitude, and his slightly drunk demeanor talked him into taking his seat. He was strapping himself in when he saw who he was sitting next to. And what are the first words out of his dumb mouth?
I might throw up on yah.
Then something about Andorian Shingles and bleeding eyeballs. It was amazing Jocelyn put up with it for as long as she did. Bones hated to admit it, but Jim Kirk smelled amazing. Like the peach blossoms back home. The kid must've snagged a one-night stand to tend to his wounds. Lucky bastard.
Or maybe he was the lucky bastard because when he opened the door to his room. Lo and behold, Jim Kirk was stretched out on one of the beds. The end of his shirt was pulled up over his belly button. There was a patch of blonde hair disappearing under his jeans. Bones had to rear his hormonal tendencies in before he stepped a foot further into the room.
"We can switch beds if you want. Just needed to lay down after that boring ass orientation," Jim said and jabbed his thumbs towards the open window. "They could have opened this place up. It's so stale in here."
"I'm not picky," Bones said as he trudged to the bed furthest away from the window. It was a decent-sized room. Each side had a desk and a small closet for clothes. The bathroom would be tricky. No kitchen. It hit him then that he wasn't home in Georgia. It would be a while before he could make food that didn't come from a machine. Bones sighed sadly when all he wanted was fresh onion rings for his hung-over body.
"Do you want to go shopping?" Jim's voice penetrated Bones' gloomy thoughts.
"What?"
"Shopping? Do you want to come with me? I have to get a bunch of stuff," Jim said. Pike's allowance was burning a hole in his wallet. Jim had a little money saved up from the odd jobs he took. Pike said he'd pay for his tuition and supplies if he kept his nose clean and somewhat sober while attending classes. In truth, Jim was hoping Bones didn't want to accompany him. He wasn't embarrassed that he needed things for his
wonderful
omega drama. Jim didn't want to freak Bones out or have to fight him off when the alpha was triggered by something Jim did. It was odd that the older guy hadn't hit on him during their flight.
"Yea, I can. Can't really take a shower without soap," Bones said, "Should probably learn where everything is too."
"Like the bars."
"Especially those," Bones shouldn't have been surprised by how easy it was to talk with Jim. The kid had an openness about him that screamed, "
Come here and lay your word vomit on me."
Jim was a never-ending source of topics. Bones wasn't bothered by the chatter. He understood that people spoke like this when they weren't around people who spoke a lot. Unfortunately, Bones didn't know anything of the majority Jim spoke about. He dutifully listened, which seemed to work just fine for the chatterbox.
An hour later and their room looked like people were occupying the space. Thankfully, Jim was a neat freak like him. He took his time organizing his side of the bathroom and room. It was nice that the stores they visited gave students huge discounts. Bones would need a lot more than just school supplies. He'd need medical equipment the hospital wouldn't provide and scrubs. Sober Bones was criticizing drunk Bones for not packing anything before he uprooted his entire life.
"Do you like taking showers in the morning or at night?" Jim asked.
"It depends on when I'll get off," Bones replied.
"What do you mean?"
"I start at Starfleet General next week," Bones replied, "I don't know how they'll schedule me until I get the full list of classes and their times."
Bones was mesmerized by Jim's silently pronouncing the hospital he'd be working at in between classes. The way the lips wrapped around each word and his mouth watered every time Jim licked his lips. The kid understood when the dots connected. They started talking about their classes, mainly the ones Bones wasn't looking forward to.
"It's the doctor thing, right? You can't cause harm to others," Jim said. They were talking about combat training.
"Yea. I also don't want to damage my hands. They're my money maker," Bones replied, wringing his hands together. There was a tan line where his wedding band used to be.
"Alright, that makes sense, but look at it like this. It's not combat training. All it really is is self-defense. If you end up in space and come up against a bad guy, you'll have to defend yourself and protect your patients," Jim explained.
"And flight training?"
"In your case, it's a last-minute hail mary. Your pilots could become incapacitated, and all you have to do is find a safe place to land," Jim said.
"You have an answer for everything, don't you, smart guy," Bones rolled his eyes playfully. The smile Jim blessed him with, the one where his two front teeth peeked through, made his heart do the thing. "What about you?"
"What about me?"
"Are there any classes you're worried about?"
"Not really," Jim shrugged, "I'm more worried about the course load. I'm on the accelerated track."
"Is that how you got into the quiet dorms?" Bones asked.
"Pretty much," Jim said. Pike had pulled a few strings to get him this room. "I'm also worried about getting my shots updated."
"Wait…what?"
That's how the rest of their night went. Jim talked about the vaccines he needed to catch up on and the ones he'll need if he wanted to go into space. And the one traumatizing ER visit ruined him for the rest of his life. Jim kept to himself how Pike had come through for him again and put him up with a doctor who knew about his circumstances. Jim hadn't met Phil yet, but Pike spoke fondly of his omega. The greatest doctor in the fleet, the older alpha bragged.
Jim still smelled like the omega he had slept with when he emerged from the shower. The sweet smell filled the room and warmed Bones' belly. He didn't say anything because it wasn't any of his business. The warm water felt amazing on his tired body. Sleep wouldn't be hard to succumb to tonight. Not after a stressful shuttle ride and a long afternoon he had. It took Jim down just as fast. When Bones came out of the bathroom smelling like earth, Jim was fast asleep on his stomach. His top half was exposed to the cool air drifting in from the window. Bones' heart was with Joanna as he pulled the blankets over him. He was turning off Jim's lamp when he moaned. Bones felt concerned, but Jim never woke up, he exhaled, and his face relaxed. He chopped it up to the kid settling into a new environment.
Jim was the best roommate Bones had ever had. He could only compare Jim to his med school roommate, and that guy was a fucking nightmare. Aaron Nichols. The guy was a slob and had no consideration for others. He thought he was god's gift, well, to everyone. Jim gave him space when he needed it, helped him with a subject he had no business knowing-because doctor- and dragged him out for drinks when they both needed it.
Jim was out most nights and returned home smelling like the same omega. It was frustrating knowing Jim was seeking solace in someone else. Bones chastised himself because what right did he have to Jim? He didn't. It was a confusing time when Jim would openly flirt with whomever and disappear until morning. Bones would return to their dorm wondering if Jim and his partner were into picking up a third for the night. Why couldn't it be him? He was a recent divorcee, not dead.
He woke up to morning wood and was covered in sweat. The dream he had had his blood coursing like lightning. He looked to his left to find Jim's bed empty. That didn't mean it was safe to get off. Jim could return any minute. It was awkward walking to the bathroom with his dick at attention. If he were younger, he would have laughed at how stupid he looked. Cold water wasn't enough to make it die. He felt dirty imagining himself sitting in a corner, lazily jacking off while watching Jim get plowed. His back was beautifully arched, and those amazing stunning eyes never left his. Bones came with a curse, painting the wall and his hand with his semen. He cleaned himself and then the wall before letting the water wake him up further. Curiously, Bones poked around in Jim's shower caddy. Not really sure what he was expecting to find. Which was nothing. It was the same calming vanilla body wash and relaxing lavender shampoo and conditioner he's been buying since the day they met.
Jim was kicking his shoes off into his closet when Bones entered the room.
"Mornin'," Bones greeted, ruffling his hair with a towel. Guilt swam in his stomach, and he hoped Jim was too tired to smell it on him.
"Hey," Jim gruffed, making Bones' ears twitch.
"You okay?" Bones asked.
"I'm fine," Jim replied coldly.
Jim's sour aroma was telling Bones to back off, and he was going to until he saw Jim's red cheek and the bruise around his throat.
"Jim," Bones said, keeping his doctor tone on the gentler side. The room was beginning to smell like the air after it rained. Jim stopped stripping out of his bad mood and turned to Bones.
"I'm okay, Bones," Jim said, the smile not reaching his eyes. "I went and saw Phil after the fight happened. Nothing to worry about."
"Okay, good," Bones reeled everything in, "There's plenty of hot water left."
"Thanks."
"Is there anything I can do?" Bones asked.
"Um…" Jim stalled with a hand on the bathroom doorframe, "I'm not feeling up to the mess hall today."
"I'll bring you back something," Bones said. If they still had tails, his would probably be wagging.
"Thanks. My badge is on my desk," Jim disappeared into the room. People with food allergies were given badges so the replicators wouldn't use ingredients that could kill them.
Bones wasn't a bad roommate, either. He listened to Jim when he needed an ear. He only grumbled a little bit when Jim showed up with a bloody nose or black eye. It could be because he was a doctor, but Bones went out of his way to make sure Jim was comfortable. Pike must've known that Bones wouldn't make him being an omega a big deal. The nosy older man also probably knew Bones would get him to eat his vegetables. Having him around after every vaccination was wonderfully helpful too. A doctor for a roommate was a blessing, and everyone should be jealous. He wasn't grossed out when Jim was throwing up into a trashcan because he was also shitting up a storm. Bones talked him out of death's door when Jim acted dramatically while he was sick. Jim felt particularly triumphant when he got Bones to read from a medical journal. He smiled like a fool while rolled up in several blankets like a burrito because he was fucking freezing. Bones had the best voice for reading stories or, in this case, what to do during a pandemic while on a starship. The exhaustion finally pulled Jim under, and fell into a peaceful, undisturbed sleep. He vaguely remembers Bones' deep voice wishing him a good rest and phantom lips on his forehead.
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
One day Jim smelled like peach blossoms and had a sunshine disposition. Then he went missing for a week. No one knew where he was. He told Bones there was nothing to worry about, that he was doing a particular assignment for one of his advanced classes. There was little contact between the two during the week. He received a message from Jim that barely formed a sentence every day, but Bones knew that Jim was alive. That didn't stop Bones from worrying and feeling lost without the kid. He felt like his head was screwed on backward. Their classmates asked where he was, mainly the girls, and he gave them the same answer Jim had given him. Though, it felt even more like a lie.
A week later, Jim returned to him. Bones' bright and happy greeting died when he saw the bags under Jim's eyes and the sickly color of his skin. He clung to the doorway, teetering on losing his balance.
"Whoa, kid, you okay?" Bones quickly approached him, ready to catch him. Jim collapsed into his arms, and a gust of his aroma assaulted Bones' nose. The alpha's nose wrinkled at the stench. Jim smelled like he rolled around trash and the physical form of sweat.
"I'm okay," Jim groaned, "Just need to lie down."
"Jim!" Bones' attention snapped to the older man in their doorway. It was Captain Pike huffing and puffing. "I told you to wait for me while I parked the car."
"He doesn't listen very well," Bones said as he shouldered all of Jim's weight onto one side.
"'M right here," Jim said, making the two men look at each other with grins.
"Is he drunk?" Bones questioned.
"No. Phil gave him his last vaccine a few days ago. He didn't react well to it. We kept him at our place until he was well enough to move," Pike said, "Which bed is his?"
"The one by the window. Jim, do you want a shower–"
"Fuck, no, just let me sleep," Jim attempted to pull out of Bones' embrace, but he didn't have the strength. He was half asleep, and Bones was deceptively built like a fucking ox. He was stripped down to his boxers and immediately curled around his pillow.
"I thought he was on assignment," Bones said as he chucked Jim's clothes into the waste basket. He'd have to wash them in a separate cycle to make sure none of their clothes got infected with the foul smell. Not rotting, but like the aftermath of a chemical fire.
"I told him to tell you that, but it is classified," Pike said as he thumbed through the old books Jim had bought. "He talks about you, McCoy. Thanks for keeping this knucklehead alive."
"It's not an easy task," Bones chuckled, catching the way Pike gazed at the unconscious man. Pride and love. Like a father would have for his son.
"You're his sponsor, aren't you?" Bones asked.
"I am. How'd you know?"
"It's not every day the Dean of Students and captain shows up at your doorstep. I figured someone high-up must've been helping him out."
"Call it a personal debt," Pike said, "I knew his folks."
"Oh," Bones said, hazel-green eyes awkwardly gazing away, realizing who he meant. He didn't learn about Jim's connection to Starfleet until he overheard some upperclassmen talking about him. And the heart-breaking aftermath that happened to Jim's mother. Losing her mate the way she did would have killed anyone.
"I'm sorry."
"Thank you," Pike smiled, "Look out for him, McCoy. He trusts you."
"Did Phil say anything else? Any side effects I need to keep an eye out for?" Bones did little to hide the blush on his cheeks, but focusing on work kept him from giggling.
"A few things, actually. His moods and scent are gonna be outta whack for a few more days. So will his appetite. There's also nausea, chills, sweats, diarrhea, and something else...he needs to stay away from alcohol for a while. I got his teachers to send him his assignment, so he doesn't have to leave unless he wants to," Chris said.
"The woooorst. Bring me death," Jim complained from under the covers.
"Suck it up, Jim," Pike said humorously, "It'll be over before you know it."
'Not soon enough."
"Good night, Jim."
"Good night, traitor."
oOo
Whatever it was that Jim took seriously messed with his whole being. It was hard not to take his mood swings and rude comments personally. Thankfully, Bones had experience with irritable patients, and he could sweep it under the rug and then drink it away.
"Hey, heated this up for you," Bones said, letting a warm bag hang loosely from his hand.
"Thanks," Jim said, his upper lip jutted out, and it must've been Bones' imagination, but Jim's eyes were enormous. He took it, placed it over his stomach, and sighed at the contact.
"This too," It was a mug of something. It smelled like heaven.
"What is it?"
"Just chicken broth. It'll be easier on your stomach."
"Thank you," Jim said, full of surprise. He took a hesitant sip to test the temperature and then drank half.
"Need anything else before I head out?" Bones asked, reaching down the duffle bag he used for work.
"No, I think I'm good. Thanks, Bones," Jim said weakly. Bones saw how glossy Jim's blue eyes were.
"Are you sure? I can call in."
"No, yea, I'm fine. Go save lives," Jim said, but he did it in a passive-aggressive tone.
"I'll call you later. Check on you, okay?"
Something always came up every time he tried to call. Someone told his cadet classmates to get hurt during his specific shift because it would piss Dr. McCoy off for all eternity. Especially the engineers. They came in with burns and broken bones at such a constant pace Bones wondered if there had been an accident. He collapsed into a chair after his third burn treatment at the nurse's station to play catch up on his reports. When his phone rang, he was nursing his third cup of shitty hospital coffee and in the middle of his fourth report (chemical burns up to the poor girl's elbow). Bones silently cursed when he saw Jim's name and photo pop up.
"Jim, hey, are you okay?" Bones asked, catching the attention of his colleagues. The blonde man was famous amongst the staff. He flirted with them and with some of the patients. There was one instance that Bones would remember until he was on his deathbed. Jim was sitting next to this, who was in a wheelchair, telling them a story he hoped Jim had made up on the fly. If not, they would need to have a serious conversation about jumping off rooftops into pools.
"Bones…" Jim sobbed.
Alpha instincts kicked into full drive as he sat straighter and glanced at M'Benga with grief-stricken eyes. His friend mouthed "go" with a pat on his back.
"I'll be right there, Jim," Bones said and quickly hung up. "You sure?"
"Yea, we'll be overstaffed in an hour," M'Benga replied.
"Thanks, man, I owe you," Bones said as he locked his Padd and rushed to the employee locker room. The last time he ran hard and fast was when three-year-old Joanna wandered into the street. He didn't offer up apologies to those he ran into. His mind was stuck on one person. In pain.
Of course, it took forever for the door to accept his code. It wasn't halfway open when Bones pushed through. The stink was even worse, and he half expected to find Jim dead on the floor. If Phil killed Jim, he was going to tear his throat out. But he was sitting up in bed, balling his eyes out. Without saying a thing, Bones dropped everything, pulled back the covers, and gathered Jim into his arms. Jim wrapped his arms around Bones' shoulders as he potioned himself on solid thighs. Bones enveloped Jim in a blanket of calm while stroking his hair. It was out of habit to sway with something in his arms.
"I feel like I'm going to die," Jim sniffled.
"Not on my watch, you won't," Bones said with a soft smile.
"I stink."
"Do you want to shower?"
"Not what I meant."
"Oh," Bones said, "You kind of do."
"You don't have to be nice about it," Bones couldn't see Jim's face, but he could hear his pouting.
"You smell like death warmed over," Bones corrected, "Wish I could help."
"Um…" Jim shifted in his spot, being careful about Bones' lower region. He was hesitant and blushing like a fool. "I have a weird request, and you can say no if you're not comfortable with it."
"Alright," Bones couldn't help the amused grin crossing his face, "Shoot."
"Could you scent me? I think I'll die if I keep smelling this bad," Jim shot off quickly. Bones almost didn't catch him.
"I don't have a problem with that," Bones replied calmly. He was internally shouting in excitement, howling to the moon. "Let me shower first so I don't smell like work."
"Okay," Jim perked up a little bit.
Bones took the quickest shower but ensured he smelled only like himself and not the hospital. Jim was sitting on the end of his bed with his face buried in his hands. He was crying again. Pathetic whimpers escaped. It broke Bones' heart from how small and fragile he appeared.
"Hey, take these," Bones whispered, holding two little pills in his hands.
"Nu-uh. It hurts to swallow. Can I have a hypo?"
Bones took a step back, looking shocked, but he did what Jim wanted and was as gentle as possible. "It'll take a minute before it kicks in. How much water have you had?"
"Please, Bones," Jim whimpered, "Doctor later."
"Yeah, okay," Bones set the hypo down, "Come sit on my bed."
Jim followed the orders and waited for Bones as he got comfortable. He pushed the blankets down with his feet, fluffed the pillow behind his back, and scooted his butt into the mattress until satisfied.
"You do what you need to," Bones said, controlling his heart rate. He shouldn't feel happy that this was happening. His friend was sick and hurting. He was suffering, and Bones was the most excited he's ever been to take care of a patient.
Jim straddled Bones' thighs and kept his hands on his broad chest. He nuzzled his nose against Bones' scent gland and inhaled pine and oak. His body immediately turned into jelly. Bones wrapped an arm around the small of Jim's back and cradled the back of his head to keep him steady. A low rumble vibrated from Bones' chest when Jim began purring. Jim was trying to hurry, rubbing his face against Bones.
"Take your time, darlin'. I'm not going anywhere," Bones said, inhaling the fragrance from Jim's hair. It stirred something inside Bones to have Jim smelling like him. He fought off the instinct to push the newborn boundary and kiss his roommate.
Jim fell asleep in Bones' arms, still secured on his lap with his nose gently breathing in the doctor's essence. Bones wasn't allowed to move. It was against the law to ruin someone's nap, especially when they have chosen you to sleep on. Jim's warm body and rhythmic breathing had his eyes drifting close. Before Bones fell asleep, he maneuvered them down the bed, so they weren't sore in the morning. He footed the blankets closer to his hand and then dragged the layers over Jim's shoulder. Jim's hold on Bones' torso tightened, and his face snuggled closer against his pulse point. Bones was stuck there until Jim woke up, and he was so okay with that.
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
Bones got his hopes up when nothing came from four days of looking after Jim. Well, he did get a nice steak dinner and a bottle of top-shelf whiskey as a thank you. It's not what he expected. He was happy Jim was feeling better and back to his usual devil-may-care self. His scent wasn't as strong as before, but he was normal.
In his dream, his over-imagination provided lusty images of Jim sporting his claim mark. A bonding mark and collar. Forever his. But Jim acted as if nothing happened during whatever he went through. Not the cuddling or falling asleep in Bones' arms in his bed every night.
Bones was blowing off steam with a few of his hospital buddies when he stumbled into his and Jim's bar. The kid would be letting loose after being confined to their room for a week. What Bones was hoping for was a few more drinks before retiring. Jim wasn't inside, however. It was dead, which wasn't surprising given that mid-terms were closing in. He wasn't in the mood to drink alone.
He was strolling by the alley when a man, another alpha by the smell of him–like spoiled milk from rejection–ran passed him. He was cursing under his breath. Words Bones didn't catch. Just the intentions.
"Fucking asshole," Bones' ears picked up the familiar voice in the alley.
"Jim?" Bones slowly approached him.
"What?" Jim snapped and then glared up at him, "Bones? What are you doing here? I thought you were out?"
"I was, but Geoff has surgery in the morning," Bones glanced at Jim's body. Besides a new bruise on his cheek, no real harm. Hazel eyes landed on Jim's unbuttoned and unzipped pants. Anger sobered him up quickly, and his brain started firing off the best possible ways to catch up to the fleeing alpha male.
"Nothing happened," Jim said as he grasped Bones' wrist. Seemingly pulling Bones out of his fury.
"It doesn't look like that," Bones gripped his hand and hulled Jim to his feet, "Are you sure you're okay?"
"Yea, I'm good," Jim dusted his hands off before fixing his pants.
"So, why'd your new friend get all pissy? And in the back alley, Jim? Are you trying to get an infection?"
"He's upset I didn't find him attractive enough to get it up," Jim smirked. Bones could sense Jim was telling him a half-truth.
They walked home, standing close enough to share body heat. It was starting to get cold out, which meant more clothes in their closets. Usually, having Jim near put him at ease. The world didn't seem so dark and cruel. Something was different. It has been different. Bones has been too busy to analyze what and why. He didn't want to voice his concerns, not now. Jim was blissfully unaware of any changes or pretending not to see them. But little did Bones know, Jim was agonizing over the same thing.
Having Bones close by gave Jim a chance to breathe. He wasn't hit on by Bones, and there weren't advances toward him. His scent was the very Earth grounding him. Bones was strange for an alpha. So attentive and gentle. Maybe that was because he was a doctor and a father. Jim has never felt comfortable being cared for, especially by alphas. He didn't need protection. People scented him and immediately treated him differently. When Jim was a kid, he thought about having the parts of him that made him an omega removed. Procedures like that didn't exist. So, he relied on suppressants and scent blockers. As he got older, he saw how using his submissive characteristics got him out of jams and into beds. He was just as strong and intelligent (provably a genius) as an alpha and beta. Being treated like he was made of glass pissed him off. So, he rarely asked for help. Heats? He went through them alone. It was too dangerous to go through one with an alpha as an unclaimed omega.
But Bones.
Bones was different. Being doted on didn't both Jim as much, probably because the alpha didn't make such a big deal out of it. Except when he couldn't keep anything down, of course. Random bodily fluids didn't bother the doctor. Bones treated him gently, but not because he viewed him as a fragile object. His smile and his voice were soothing, not aggravating on the ears. Jim could get used to it. Having Bones holding him. Drowning in his earth scent and keeping him safe.
The party continued in the living room. Bones wasn't quiet on his level, and he needed to drag him down. It started with a drinking game to an old film. A western, and every time someone said "yup," they took a shot. Bones was one more drink away from being messy. He was sitting on the floor, back against the couch.
"Did I ever tell you how Jocelyn and I met?"
"No," Jim smiled, "Who's Jocelyn?"
"Ex-mate."
"Oh, yea," Jim giggled, "How'd you get someone to fall for a cynic like you?"
"Hey," Bones pinched Jim's calf, "I wasn't always so moody and irritable. I was downright cheerful."
"It's hard imagining you as cheerful."
"Do you want to hear about my tragic story or not?" Bones asked as he crawled onto the couch to straddle Jim to keep him there, so he had no choice but to listen. Jim didn't care. His hands were happy on Bones' hips.
"Y'see, it was our second year, me in medical, Jocelyn in law. Yes, I finished high school early and was accepted to my first choice. I was playing basketball with friends when my jump shot missed the hoop, and I hit Jocelyn in the head."
"No!"
"Yes."
"Good thing you were a doctor in training," Jim waggled his eyebrows, "Let me guess. You have her the ol' razzle-dazzle and flashed her that sweet lazy smile to get out of the assault charge?"
"As a matter of fact, I did," He flashed Jim that very smile, "We started dating shortly after, and it was great. Two years after we graduated and were both established in our respective careers, we married. Our families weren't ecstatic about it."
"What? Why?"
"They were old school. All of the couples were true mates–fated–preordained. Jocelyn and I didn't care. We were in love," Bones sat back on Jim's thigh. His expression turned sad as he looked up at the ceiling.
"What happened?"
"We lost the spark. We got busy with work and rarely saw each other. Then my dad got sick, and he died. We thought having Joanna would be enough to bring us together. To be what we were. And we did for a bit, but Joc was rarely home. I thought it was work."
"It wasn't?"
"It was, and it wasn't. She was cheating on me with her boss."
Jim sucked in air through closed teeth.
"Yea, it sucked at first."
"At first?"
"They're true mates."
Jim's mouth fell open, and Bones had the sudden desire to kiss him. To taste him. To feel his tongue.
"Yeah, I felt the same way. The three of us sat down and talked. I knew there was nothing I could say or do to make Jocelyn stay without using my alpha control. Hate that I can do that. We divorced and unbonded."
"That shit hurts, right?"
"Unbelievably," Bones rested his hands on Jim's chest, down to the ends of his shirt. He was so fucking drunk because this was the softest shirt Bones had ever felt. He was pretty sure it was his shirt, but he didn't care at the moment. "It was like carving out an organ with a superheated, rusty, jagged knife."
Jim cringed, "I've heard horror stories. Is it true it fucks you up biologically?"
"It does. Royally. I had to take a few months off work, and even then, I wasn't right."
"Is that how you ended up enlisting?"
"I figured distance would make it better. Missing Joanna hurts a helluva lot more than getting unbonded. But Gary is a good guy. He's good to both of them. He sends me emails every week of her artwork. He makes a lot of dad jokes."
"Lucky me."
"Yea, lucky you. You get a doctor for a roommate to patch you up," Bones gently tapped Jim's cheek.
They talked on the couch for hours. About absolute nonsense until it turns into a full-blown rant. It mainly was bitching about the classes Bones didn't think he needed to take. And Jim talking about some scientific theory Bones couldn't wrap his drunk mind around. The typically serious alpha was funny when he was intoxicated and touchy. He couldn't stop touching Jim or stop sitting on him. The funny thing was. Jim didn't mind it so much. Bones was the gravity keeping him on the ground. It was like he was the moon god the ancestors used to pray to. That's what scared him.
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
Jim practically crawls into Chris' home. His bones creak with how run down he feels. Usually, Jim would feel fantastic and fulfilled after a week-long fuck bender. That was before a particular good-smelling alpha became his roommate. And before he went on experimental suppressants. His purpose for visiting wasn't just to avoid the alpha waiting for him back in the dorms but to see Phil.
"Well, you look like shit," Pike said as Jim slid into his designated bar stool.
"I know. I'm a regular Disney princess," Jim said.
"Seriously, what's wrong with you?" Pike asked. He had a towel over his shoulder, indicating he was in the middle of cooking breakfast when Jim showed up unannounced.
"Don't know. I think it might be the suppressants Phil gave me," Jim replied, "I don't feel right."
"Don't feel right how?" Phil asked as he strutted into the kitchen, clad in scrubs, and his face was shiny like he had just shaven. He and Pike shared a quick kiss, which Jim happily, dreamily, watched. He didn't imagine him and Bones like that someday. Nope. Not at all.
"So, what's wrong?" Phil asked.
"I'm feeling sluggish, and I can't concentrate," Jim replied, shaking his head at the cup of coffee Pike offered.
"Really?" With his tricorder in hand, Phil walked around the counter, "How's your appetite?"
"What appetite? Bones has resorted to buying baby food," Jim said and then scoffed, "I'm pretty sure he cried the first time he brought some home."
"He misses Joanna," Phile said, waving around the device.
"You know about her?"
"I'm his boss. Of course, I do," Phile put the tech away, "There's nothing adherently wrong. We can push your follow-up to Monday to take some blood samples."
"If you're not worried, then neither am I. I have class the rest of the week anyway," Jim grimaced at the plate of food in front of him. Pike looked at him, down at the bacon and waffles, and then back at Jim. The omega got the clue and nibbled on the bacon.
"On a more personal note. Have you been sleeping with anyone?" Phil asked so bluntly it caught Pike off guard, making him choke on his coffee. The doctor didn't spare his mate a worried glance.
"Uh, yes, what about it?"
"Is it the same partner or someone new?"
Phil, hun, maybe this is something you two should discuss in private. In your office."
"Nonsense," Phile said.
"I'm never with the same person twice. Don't want them to get the wrong impression," Jim replied, basking in Pike's discomfort. Ignoring the signals he was giving off.
"Interesting. How are you around Dr. McCoy? Has anything changed between the two of you?"
"Not really. He's been more dotting than usual but I think that's the doctor thing?" Jim said as he began to cut into a waffle. "These are really fucking good, Chris."
"Thank you. I'll pack some up so you can share with McCoy," Pike said, using this excuse to flee to the other side of the kitchen and made a dramatic show of digging for tupperware.
"He's so much to tease," Phile said, winking at Jim, "Do you have any classes today?"
"No."
"Good. I'm prescribing a night in. You can do homework but no partying, bars, or hook-ups. It would help if you had proper sleep," Phile said, "And water. You're a little dehydrated."
"Hate the stuff."
"That's because it's good for you," Phil booped Jim on the nose. It's a shame the couple wasn't able to have children through no fault of their own. Work kept getting in the way. They would have made great parents. "Eat up, and I'll drive you home."
"Yes, sir."
oOo
"What are you doing home?" Bones asked. He was returning home from a morning run.
"Gotta stay in. Doctor's orders," Jim said, "Waffles and bacon from Pike."
"From scratch?"
"That's all he does," Jim replied.
"Did you have any?"
"I ate one and a piece of bacon while Phil watched," Jim said.
"Good."
Jim watched Bones eat while he cleaned his side of the room. He was a little confused as to how it got so bad. He was aware he was treating their room more like a pit stop lately. Bones seemed surprisingly cool with it.
"Will you be okay alone?" Bones asked.
"Yea, why?" Jim smiled
"I have a short shift tonight. I might get home at a weird time," Bones replied, setting the tupperware inside the sink.
"I'll manage. Probably do some studying."
"Probably," Bones chuckled, "You say that like you're not ahead in all your classes."
"Not my fault they can't keep up," Jim said.
"Are you cleaning under your books?"
"Yea."
"Why?"
"It's dusty."
Jim wasn't watching the clock. He was debating if he wanted to kill the spider next to it. It wasn't getting late or anything, and he wasn't worried about it. It's not like he was concerned about Bones. He was a doctor. He probably got held up, is all. Maybe there was an accident.
Bones was right about him. Jim didn't work on anything. He was so far ahead in all his classes that he could have tested out of them whenever he wanted. He cleaned in every nook and cranny and didn't stop at his laundry. Bones had a full hamper; it would be days until he could get to it. Jim may or may not have buried his nose in one of the alpha's shirts. He felt better than he had in days.
He tore through the new books he had bought the other day. Bones laughed about the old school romances are the shit, even if the scenarios are preposterous. Many people have fantasies of being ravished by a handsomely roguish detective, doctor, horse trainer, or CIA agent.
The time was quickly approaching eleven o'clock, three hours post Bones' shift. Jim was getting a little annoyed. He huffed and decided to get dinner at the diner down that street. He placed the order as he locked up. The night air did him some good. Bones didn't so take up his mind. It hit Jim that this is what Bones went through every night he didn't return. Now he regretted not getting the peach pie they had on display. The familiar pine scent Jim had just taken a big hit of wafted past him. His heart pounded as he searched for the alpha that accompanied it. It wasn't hard to spot him in the sea of people.
The smile fell from Jim's face when he saw the woman hanging off Bones' arm. A pretty whatever with short jet-black hair and dark eyes. A pang of anger made him nauseous. Bones' smile reached his ear, his eyes closing to half-crescent moons. Jim felt the green goblin of jealousy kicking his heart's ass. He wanted to be responsible for that smile, for Bones' happiness. He suddenly wasn't happy with the spaghetti and meatballs he had ordered. He knew from past experience that it would taste like mud and feel like sandpaper on his tongue. He didn't want to waste it, so he carried it all the way home and immediately put it in the fridge.
Jim doesn't say anything when Bones finally returns home. His happiness is palpable, and it's insufferable.
"You're still awake?" Bones asked.
Jim was barely awake. He had started falling asleep halfway through the movie, which was barely holding his attention.
"Wanted to make sure you got home safe," Jim said, turning off the television.
"You don't have to wait up. I know you're not feelin' good," Bones said as he hung his jacket on one of the hooks. "Did you do my laundry?"
"All of the machines were free, so I took advantage of the opportunity," Jim said, "I didn't fold your underwear, but your socks match."
"Thank you. I appreciate it," Bones said.
"No problem."
"Have you eaten? You look a little pale," Bones said, reaching for Jim's face to check his temperature. Jim flinched at the sudden movement.
"I ate a little bit," A lie, "I'm gonna go to bed."
It came out of nowhere, but the hug from Bones felt terrific. Safe. Jim relaxed into it and absorbed the energy the alpha was giving off. Honey and apple. Not Bones. Not anyone they knew. It was too strong to belong to a patient. Jim pushed him away with a surge of anger.
"Sorry, too weird?" Bones asked.
"No, you just smell weird," Jim replied as he rubbed his nose.
"Oh, sorry. It must be Sheryl."
Jim didn't want to know her name. He didn't want to know anything about her. It wasn't fair to Bones that he felt angry towards a person he's never met. The alpha was allowed to have one-night stands or a future mate.
"Who's Sheryl?"
Okay, he was lying. He wanted to know everything about the woman. Were they dating? Where did she work? What was her schedule? No, he wasn't going to stalk her hoping to find some dirt on her.
"She's one of my nurses. Her mate is a captain."
Jim's flame for obsession died with a plume of smoke.
"And she's stepping out on him?"
"What? No," Bones smiled, "She's pregnant and wanted to ask me how to surprise him when he returns."
"That's nice of you," Jim said, "Why'd she ask you?"
"Because Jocelyn surprised me in a weird but good way."
Jealousy's monster grew a few more heads. Wanting to have kids was never a part of Jim's plan. He didn't want any kids until the very distant future with someone he loved and trusted. He was still young and had time. He could imagine having that future with Bones. He'd happily give the man all the pups he wanted.
What the fuck?
"Jim? Are you okay?" Bones asked, placing a flat hand on Jim's forehead.
"I'm fine!" Jim snapped and pushed Bones' hand off, blushing furiously, "Just leave–I'm going to bed."
"O-okay," Bones said, looking after Jim with confusion and worry. He chopped up Jim's agitation to stress and residual illness. And not having a proper meal in days. He'd be fine after a good night's sleep.
oOo
Bones was getting pretty sick and tired of Jim's cold shoulder. Hostility wasn't the word the good doctor wanted to use, but he knew when a fight between alphas was fast approaching. It would be anyone's game. Bones was strong from all the farm work he missed doing. Basking in the Georgia heat. Jim was in advanced combat training and could sneakily get the upper hand. He'd rather settle this with a conversation, but Jim wasn't taking his calls. He was rarely home, so Bones couldn't catch him then. He was either being avoided on purpose, or Jim was actually busy. He knew something was bothering the kid. Or else he wouldn't look so miserable. He'd catch the melancholy blue eyes watching him. Pouty lips parted like the words were there but blocked by some invisible force shield.
He didn't want to resort to anything drastic, but it was like pulling teeth with the kid. Bones had wanted to ask him to come home during the winter break. Not if they weren't on speaking terms. It wouldn't be a suitable environment for Joanna to be around. Joanna saw enough tension when things got back between her parents. Bones refused to put his little girl through that again.
Jim had headphones in while doing school work when Bones returned home. It was an awful shift. Three people had died, and one newly grieving alpha attacked him after delivering the news. His jaw still ached. The hit would have been much worse if it weren't for his combat training. His reaction time was slow because he was tired from the hours of the previous surgery. He was looking forward to showering and getting some sleep. Studying could wait until tomorrow.
The stench of death was stamped on his skin, and no matter how hard Bones tried, he couldn't scrub it off. Lifeless eyes stared up at him. He heard the wails of bonded mates like a distant dream. He didn't need to shave, but that didn't stop him from slapping on the aftershave. Anything to keep the impending nightmares at bay.
Jim had sprayed the room with a light flowery freshener they used when the room smelled stale. Bones was bout to ask if their neighbors had cooked something nasty smelling. Then he saw his scrubs tied up in a little trash bag. Jim had the most sensitive nose.
"Sorry, I'll do laundry first thing tomorrow," Bones said, closing the lid to his hamper.
"This is the worst they've smelled, "Jim said, "Rolling in the garbage is a bit of a cliche. You know that, right?"
Jim's tone wasn't humorous. It was accusatory and judgemental. The fact that his back was facing him made the comment ten times worse.
"You're smelling residual scent from three families who lost someone today. So, excuse me if grief has a nasty aftertaste."
Jim's creased brow line softened, his electric blue eyes widened to an impossible size, and his lips thinned into a guilty line. He finally swiveled in his chair to face Bones, "I'm sorry. I didn't–"
"Damn right, you didn't! How could you? Lost in your own world the majority of the fucking time, not giving two shits about anyone else," Bones shouted, having no idea where this was coming from. He did, actually. It was build up from him worrying about Jim when he never came home. It was frustration when he smelled like someone new every other day. It was the fact that Bones wanted to be with Jim but knew Jim wasn't the relationship type.
"Just because your omega dumped you doesn't mean you can take it out on me!" Bones took a few steps back until his butt hit his desk. He wanted to put as much distance between them as possible.
"...What are you talking about? I wasn't dating an omega. I haven't been dating anyone," Jim tilted his head to the side. An old omega habit of showing submissiveness. To prove he wasn't a threat. Dating an omega? That was out of the question. Having two omegas nesting at the same time and having emotional outbursts was a fucking nightmare to him. How would they get through their heat? Neither of them wouldn't be able to knot each other.
"Then why in the hell did you smell so good in the beginning?" Bones gawked at his roommate. He knew he wasn't going to like Jim's answer. He never did.
"Oh my god," Jim's lips stretched into a wide grin that reached his ears, eyes brightening as he laughed, "That was me, Bones. I'm an omega."
Bones' brain short-circuited. Pieces of the puzzle began to fit in the spaces. Jim's scent, elegant build, people skills, and how he could defuse a situation with a bat of his eyelashes and charming smile. The week he was gone and sick.
"You're an omega?"
"Yes."
"What do you mean?"
"I thought you knew," Jim could not stop grinning. He was going to hold this over Bones' head for the rest of his life.
"You're an omega," Bones stated to himself.
"I thought you were being really cool. You're cuddly for an alpha."
"You weren't dating an omega?"
"Nope."
"You were the one who smelled like home?"
Okay, that caught Jim off guard. Like home? What the fuck does that even mean? He made a mental note to ask about that later.
"You're handling this a lot better than most would."
"So, wait, why do you smell different now?"
"Oh, uh, Phil put me on an experimental suppressant. It's supposed to shorten my heats and make them less extreme. Can't be a captain spending a week in their quarters getting fucked."
"Holy shit, you're an omega," Bones would have collapsed to the floor with accepting the news if it weren't for the desk propping him up. He carded his hand through his hair a few times before gently tugging at the roots. "Why didn't you tell me?"
"You never asked. I'm not ashamed of it. It sometimes sucks, yea, but I don't go around telling people because they immediately know."
"Are you calling me oblivious?"
"If the boot fits."
The silence was deadly. The electricity in the air was different from before. It wasn't stagnant with frustration, claustrophobic annoyance, and a pinch of jealousy. Bones looked like he needed to shit a brick and have a few drinks.
"Are you okay?" Jim asked.
"Yea, I'm okay. Just need a minute," Bones held one arm wide open and ushered Jim towards him. Jim was a little hesitant, hoping this wasn't a trick to take advantage of him. But this was Bones. Even if he was utterly oblivious to him being an omega for the last six months. He still wouldn't hurt him. Not just because he was a doctor, he was a good guy who spoon-fed him plums and sweet potatoes out of jars of baby food. Jim wrapped his arms around Bones' middle and nuzzled his nose against his chest. He had some nicely toned tits for an alpha. A well-kept secret the doctor had.
"I'm sorry about your patients and how I reacted," Jim said, holding him tighter and flooding the room with a comforting scent. He felt a boost of pride when he felt Bones' shoulders drop and felt his chest rise and fall with the most profound sigh.
"S'kay," Bones kissed the top of his head.
"Are we okay? I'll understand if you want me to move out."
"Absolutely not, darlin'," Bones said, squeezing Jim, and began brushing his fingers through his soft hair. Flattening the back until his fingers rested on the back of his neck, and began massaging the area. "There's no way I'm gonna let you outta my site and watch another alpha sweep you up."
"Do you need some space for a while?"
"Does it look like I want space?" Jim could hear the soft smile in Bones' voice.
"No, guess not," Jim chuckled, "Should we talk about whatever's been going on between us?"
Bones hooked his fingers under Jim's chin, tilting it up so their eyes could meet. Being this close to him, Jim could see that the deceptive dark hazel eyes had a ring of green around the pupils. Jim could swim in the tenderness and delicate smile. Bones brought his full lips to him, slanting them together perfectly. Large hands fell to Jim's hips and pulled him into a possessive hold. Jim arched his back as hands traveled up to Bones' face, cradling the jawline. Bones' tongue swiped over Jim's bottom lip, asking permission to enter, to which Jim answered by opening his mouth and meeting the silkiness of the alpha's tongue. Hearts thundered against each other as the kiss deepened, tasting and devouring the whimpers from Jim and the possessive growls from Bones.
Bones swung them around and placed Jim on his desk. The omega's legs opened wide for him, leaning back on one arm, back bowing. Bones held the back of Jim's head protectively when it fell back against the wall, humming contently when Bones began to map out his neck with his lips and tongue. Those devilish lips smirked once he found Jim's sensitive spot, feeling a low rumble when he moaned sweetly for him. A hand traced down Jim's side until it landed on his thigh and squeezed him.
Jim ground his hips against Bones, desperate for friction and heat. He gasped when Bones' calloused hand slipped underneath his shirt, slithering up his torso. As delicate as the alpha was, Jim felt like he was set on fire. Bones didn't go beyond midriff, which was frustrating, but he didn't need to work hard to tease musical notes out of Jim. The alpha had slowed down, carefully pressing open-mouth kisses along Jim's elongated neck. He stopped underneath his ear, eyebrows flying up when Jim's gasp was loud on a high note. A baritone growl rumbled deep from his chest when he felt Jim's erection roll against his.
"Is that the spot, darlin'?" Bones whispered in Jim's ear, nibbling on the shell of his ear.
"Yea," Jim panted, "Do it again?"
"If you make that noise for me all the time, of course, I will," Bones pressed his lips and flattened his tongue on the same area, pulling out a string of mixed high-pitched pants and moans from the omega.
"Bones, please," Jim whimpered, "I can't take it. I need to feel you."
"You sure, sweetheart?" Bones asked, coming up to meet Jim's eyes.
In a show of surprising strength, Jim pushed Bones off of him and continued to do so until the alpha fell on the bed. Jim straddled him. The kiss was full of need and fire.
"I need you, alpha," Jim huffed when they parted.
Dilated pupils swallowed the green in Bones' eyes. His scent indicated full-on arousal, magnified by his need to dominate the man sitting on him. He flipped them, and Jim landed on his back with an "oomph." Bones fiddled with the drawstrings of his sweatpants, parting from his lips to pull them down low enough for Jim to kick them off the rest of the way. He towered over Jim, hands crawling up the bed so he could push down his pants. Jim licked his palm and began stroking the alpha's thick cock.
"Fuck," Bones hissed, dropping his head on the juncture where Jim's shoulder and neck connected. He had the sudden intense desire to have his cock down Jim's throat. There would be time for that later. He wasn't going to let Jim just yet.
"I won't last much longer if you keep that up, omega," Bones said as he grabbed Jim's hand and pinned it above his head.
"I wanted to make you feel good, alpha," Jim pouted, already looking blissed the fuck out. There were slivers of blue in dilated eyes, his face flushed, and his hair's roots dark with sweat.
"Don't worry, darlin'," Bones kissed him before he spoke again, and the same hand disappeared between them. His fingers slid between Jim's cheeks, and closed his eyes to reel himself in before he took Jim. "You're soaked, darlin'? You want my cock that badly?"
"No," Jim's back arched when he felt one of Bones' finger enter him, "I want you. There's a difference."
"Oh, is there?" Bones teased, adding another, smirking when the hook of Jim's back deepened. He began scissoring him open, though he barely needed it, which pissed him off a little. Someone else had had Jim not that long ago. "What if all I want you to do from now is want my cock and only my cock?"
"Fuck," Jim's hips bucked excitedly and pushed on Bones' finger when he hit his prostate.
Bones was prolonging Jim's sensations. Teasing him open, bringing him to the edge just to stop and begin again when the omega grunted with impatience. He was rutting his own erection against Jim's thigh. It wasn't enough, though. He needed to feel Jim soon. Bones was pawing at the omega's hips, pinning it down to keep him still. Hoping that there'd be bruises in the morning for him to tend to with his mouth.
He found the sweet spot that made Jim cry out and whispered in a possessive dark tone in his ear, "I'm gonna make you forget about all the others. My touch is the only thing you'll remember and crave."
Jim clutched Bones' arms, digging his fingernails into his skin.
"Look at me, omega," Bones ordered, pumping his fingers against Jim's prostate. Jim slowly met his eyes. He was floored by the change in the person above him. He shouldn't have been as shocked as he is. Most alphas who were aware of the power they could have over someone usually hid it until they were alone with their mate. They held eye contact as Bones continued his rhythm, feeling Jim tighten around him again.
"Cum for me, omega," Bones glowered.
"No," Jim panted shakily, "Wanna cum with you inside me."
"Oh, trust me, omega. You will," Bones said, pressing hard on the overworked area, "Now cum."
It didn't take much for Jim to dip over the edge, painting his stomach with strings of semen. Bones captured Jim's wide-opened mouth, shoving his tongue inside, swallowing all the wrecked moans. He didn't give Jim time to come down. Bones withdrew his fingers, placed the head of his cock at the entrance, and slowly moved inside. Jim practically swallowed him. Pulling him in until Bones had bottomed out.
"Fucking, Christ, Jim," Bones gasped and bit his lip.
"Wait, Bones," Jim grabbed his face and kissed him until his eyes could focus on him. "Let flip over."
"What's stopping you?" Bones smirked.
"You laying on top of me," Jim joked. His own smirk was playful.
"Don't bring logic into this," Bones said, pushing himself up and out of Jim. He stroked himself as he watched Jim flip onto his knees and presented himself before the alpha. Bones walked up behind him, dragging his nails up the back of Jim's thigh before he flattened the palm of his hand over Jim's plump ass in a circular motion.
"So, beautiful, omega," Bones cooed, sliding his cock back inside with ease.
Jim sucked his lower lip inside, biting it. His eyes fluttered shut at the sensation Bones filled him with. And he was full. He felt like his hole was stretched to the max. It was a comfortable type of pain. One that Jim loved and would never get tired of.
"Do you feel good, darlin'?" Bones asked, slowly pumping in and out of Jim, digging upwards. Wanting to memorize the way he feels inside.
"Fuck," Jim buried his face in the blanket and pushed back against Bones, "Yes, alpha. I love it."
"You love it, do you?" Bones repeated the action, mesmerized by Jim's eyes opening wide, only to have them roll to the back of his head. "Sweet omega."
"Please, alpha," Jim begged, "I won't last much longer. Please, fuck me. Don't hold back."
"Are you sure, omega?"
"Yes. I can take it. I promise," Jim replied, rising with his arms. He pathetically fucked himself on Bones' cock, igniting Bones' need to take over. It worked. Bones pulled out halfway and slammed Jim back on his cock. Making Jim holler and making himself grunt. He knees Jim's legs further apart to bring Jim back far enough to sit on his lap. He could fuck into Jim deeper at this angle, arms hooking under Jim's and bruising his fingers into his delicate skin. All Jim could do was be still as he relished the force the alpha took him in.
"You're perfect, omega," Bones moaned, browline creased in concentration. "Making all these pretty noises for me."
That's all Jim
could
do. All the words he knew had disappeared, his mind fogging over. Only needing one thing.
"My pretty omega," Bones kissed Jim's shoulder before gently biting it. Careful that it wasn't deep enough to make a claimed mark. "That's what you are. You're mine."
"Yours," Jim chanted, "I'm yours."
"Say it again," Bones grunted. He pushed Jim back on the bed, keeping his legs far apart as he pounded into him quicker.
"I'm yours, alpha," Jim repeated, "All yours. No one else's."
"Mine," Bones he could feel his end nearing, cursing to himself that it was ending too soon. He felt like he could go for hours. "Touch yourself. Make yourself cum for me like a good omega."
"Yes, alpha," Jim licked his hand, reached between his legs, and began stroking himself. Jim wasn't going to last much longer by pumping his cock into his hand, coupled with Bones filling him perfectly, hitting all the right places. "May I cum, alpha?"
"Yes, sweet thing. Let it all out," Bones gently ordered. Jim was tightening around his shaft, massaging the most sensitive parts of his cock. "Are you alright with me cumming inside you?"
"Please, cum inside me, alpha?" Jim begged.
"That's not what I asked, omega," Bones smacked Jim's ass as a warning.
"Yes, it's alright, alpha," Jim groaned at the impact, squeezing Bones even tighter, feeling more slick slip out of him.
"Like that, do you?" Bones smirked.
Jim nodded, eyes closed and biting his lower lip, "Yes, alpha."
Bones spanked him until his cheek was a lovely faint shade of pink. Jim was a mess of pleas below him, begging for more. Praying for his cum. Bones held on to Jim's hips for dear life with one final thrust buried deep inside him. Filling him, wishing he was in his rut so he could knot the omega. Making him his. Jim was a symphony of moans and gasps as he came over the blanket. Bones didn't attempt to move as Jim came down from his second orgasm.
"You did so well, Jim," Bones praised, "You were so good. My pretty omega."
Jim hummed, pushing against Bones and glancing over at him over his shoulder. Jim was glowing, basking in postcoital bliss and the tender way Bones stared down at him.
"God, you're so beautiful," Bones murmured, kissing his shoulder. He wanted to hold his omega and get drunk and high off of Jim's sweet scent. Every time he tried to pull out, Jim followed him.
"Do you not want me to leave you?" Bones asked.
"Not yet," Jim pouted.
"Alright, but I can't keep standing like this," Bones said. His legs were ready to give out. "What if you ride me the next time? You can keep me inside you for as long as you want."
"Do you promise?"
"Of course, darlin'," Bones took Jim's hand and kissed the back of it.
"No. I mean, do you promise there'll be a next time?" Jim clarified, "Because I think you ruined me for other alphas."
"That was the goal, sweetheart. I don't want anyone else touching you. You're all mine."
"I've never dated someone exclusively," Jim felt warm tears brim his eyes and a knot growing in his throat. Bones sensed the shift in the blonde man's mood. He pulled out as gently as possible and laid on the bed beside Jim, rolling him over in the process. He took Jim's face in his warm hands and kissed him all over his face. One to each closed eyes, his cheek, his nose, and then his lips.
"Between the two of us, I'm sure we can figure this all out. It will be challenging. I can promise you that," Bones said, wiping away the stray tears with his thumbs.
"Good thing I love a challenge," Jim smiled.
Bones rolled his eyes before pulling Jim's face closer to him. Their lips met for a long, deep kiss.
"Hey, Bones," Jim said.
"Hm?"
"I guess we figured out what's between us," Jim said, humor bubbling in the back of his throat.
Bones humored and asked, "And what's that?"
"Two soft cocks," Jim replied, looking up with the brightest eyes and smile Bones had ever seen.
Bones groaned in annoyance and kicked Jim off the bed, "I can't fucking believe you."
"What?" Jim laughed the infectious kind that Bones was defenseless against.
"You're unbelievable," Bones shook his head, huffing a noise of disbelief.
"Yea, but I'm you're unbelievable," Jim countered, rising to his feet. He held a hand out for Bones to take, "Wanna join me for a shower? I'll let you scrub me down."
The image of Jim wet and soapy while taking his cock like a good omega made his cock twitch.
"We'll do more than showering, right?" Bones asked, standing up with newfound energy.
"Obviously," Jim rolled his eyes but smiled sweetly.
