They were both trying to pretend they were alone in the room. Like this death only belonged to them, to Qin, lying bleeding on the floor, and Teo, kneeling in front of them, his hands stroking over their body, and Dex, currently wedged deep into the Tiefling’s flesh. Like Qin’s screams were for Teo alone.Ceadr didn’t make it easy for them.“Quit messing around”, he called over.Teo’s hands halted their movement through the cuts for only a fraction of a second, but Qin noticed.“I told you to kill them, not to hack them to pieces like a butcher” Ceadr pointed out dryly.“Don’t tell me how to do my job”, Teo answered, raking the blade of the axe through Qin’s body.“Do I have to remind you who gave you that job.”“You think I wouldn’t be doing exactly this even if you didn’t tell me to?”, Teo grinned, and then leaned down to kiss the wound he had just cut on Qin’s shoulder. Qin closed their eyes to take all the pain in, bit their lip to stop themself from moaning. Yet they were scared. They loved hearing Teo speak these words, loved the way he kept defying Ceadr (for them!), but at the same time knew that this wouldn’t end well for either of them. That there was only so far he could take it before Ceadr would retribute. Qin could take it, they were used to it, after all. But they were scared for Teo.“One should think someone like you is used to taking orders that were clearly laid out.” Ceadr’s voice was moving closer now. Qin opened their eyes and saw that he had gotten off his chair to step towards them. “If you won’t stick to what I tell you, I’ll have Juraj take care of it instead next time.”“I am killing them, am I not?”, Teo said through gritted teeth. “That’s what you asked me to do. What’s the problem with me having a little fun here as well?”“I don’t like it when someone makes a mess of my things.”Qin knew he was referring both to their blood all over the floor, and their own body being cut to pieces by Teo’s violently gentle hands.Teo pulled Dex’ blade from Qin’s flesh, then lifted the axe high to let it go down with full force into their chest, wonderful pain shooting through their entire body, and blood splattering in a high arc through the air and hitting Ceadr directly, staining his robes.“Messes are part of my work”, Teo said. “If you have a problem with that, maybe you should leave us alone until I’m finished.”Qin wanted to kiss Teo right then and there, and also scream at him to shut up, please, please, shut your stupid mouth, he’ll hurt you, he’ll hurt both of us, don’t you realize what you’re doing? But they kept quiet.Ceadr’s posture stiffened. There was something dangerous in his eyes now, both the two on his face and the many tattooed all over his body. He took another step towards Teo, standing right next to him now.“Has it never occurred to you that you could be making things easier for them, Dagger?”Teo didn’t answer. He kept his gaze fixed on Qin, stroking over the new wound, gripping inside.Ceadr put a hand in Teo’s hair, running his fingers through it. But he was looking at Qin, his face a warning. “That maybe, if you complied, I would let you hold them after you killed them.”The change in Teo’s face was immediate. Always so easy to read. Maybe it was the fact that he rarely experienced feelings, which made the ones he did have all the more apparent, like they suddenly took over his entire self. To Ceadr, Teo was an open book. And right now, its pages were filled with desperation and yearning.“That’s what you want, right?”, Ceadr continued while combing through Teo’s hair. “To feel their dead body. To embrace them until they return from death. But why should I let you have that if you can’t follow even simple instructions, if you keep being difficult? Do you think you are helping them with this?” He clicked his tongue. “Maybe it’s my fault for expecting restraint from a mindless killer. But didn’t you say you cared about them?”Teo was still staring down, but his gaze was far away now, indecisive, conflicted. When he spoke again, his voice had the same emotionlessness and tiredness in it that Qin had heard long ago, when they had first met him: “What do you want me to do?”Ceadr smiled. He laid his other hand to Teo’s chin. “Make it quick, Dagger. Cut their throat. No need to touch them any further.”Qin moved under Teo, just for a moment wanting to speak up. Ceadr fixed them with his gaze, and then leaned down to place a kiss on Teo’s temple, never taking his eyes off Qin. The message was clear. He belongs to me, like everything else you thought was yours. They could have told Teo that it was just a bluff. They could have told him that they preferred him killing them in his own way. But then again, what use would Teo be to Ceadr then, if all his manipulations were laid open? Maybe it was better for him if he didn’t know. So, all Qin could do was watch silently as Ceadr turned Teo into one of his tools, just another dagger to hurt them with.Teo lowered the blade and Qin closed their eyes as he ripped open their throat, blood gushing from the wound all over their body, the pain too quick and merciless to hold any of the affection they were so used to from him. Their magic hissed inside them, but they just let go, slumping to the ground. They knew they wouldn’t wake up in Teo’s arms.
