When people think of a giantess, they likely imagine a busty, fair skinned woman as tall as a skyscraper with a big butt and thick thighs. But in actuality, you knew better. You were one.In hiding, that is. There was absolutely no chance or opportunity for you to take your Titan form when there were so many homes and cars and Humans and Monsters milling about in your closest mile radius. Your feet alone could cause hundreds of casualties. You weren’t exactly keen on finding out how many Monster and Human attacks could take you down.Remaining Human was difficult, but not impossible. Squeezing your entire big Soul into a tiny little body, like flexing a muscle near constantly no matter how much it fatigued you or made you want to weep. It was just…like that. Monsters may have been relatively accepted by the Human population in the last six years but a giant woman? No way. You remembered the killing of the giants, hundreds of years ago. It was a massacre of your brethren- and you didn’t exactly want to cause your own extinction because you were feeling claustrophobic. As far as you knew, you were the last of your kind. That kind of thing set on your shoulders heavily, weighing through your day to day conversations. Knowing that you can’t tell anyone or trust anyone with the information and knowledge you held.Sans was a nice guy. He would throw out puns when you were sulking through the evening classes, bringing you a coffee or croissant with chocolate in it sometimes. You both had college classes together, taking the Quantum Mechanics course with the lady professor who seemed to hate everyone’s guts. Sans had explained a month after you met him that he already knew half of the course information, but the human government refused to accept his Monster PHD and demanded he do it all over. You agreed with him that it was totally bullshit. Both of you seemed to agree on a lot of things, including the fact that the Human government was shit and you resented them. Politics annoyed you and you did your best not to watch the News more than you had to. Mostly because you got into a mood every time you saw something that made you think “Oh, a giant could help with that issue-“ or “A giant could prevent that.” You were plagued with the guilt of hiding away instead of being useful. You knew Sans could sense your turmoil, but he only asked about it once and left the subject alone when you didn’t give him a straight answer. Just like you didn’t ask about the many strange parts he needed for a mystery machine, and why he randomly had more than ten roommates in less than a week. But Sans was smart- scarily so. You were well aware that eventually he would catch on to the tiny details and slip ups you may forget- but you had no clue how to address it or prepare for it. There was no way to know if he would be understanding, or just plain terrified. Most saw giants as a threat, simply because they were fifty times stronger and fifty times bigger in mass and power. Beings of such size, made up of materials that Humans couldn’t classify- things that others don’t understand scare people. You knew it too well. Inevitability, that was your friendship with Sans- and shit, you really really really fucking loved him. Your Soul leaped with joy and euphoria every time you saw him. Denying your love for him was like saying you could romance the Human president with your giantess form. Completely illogical. ~ The first time Sans noticed something about you that was different was during a winter storm in the mountains. You had gone off on a camping trip, directly into the sheet white snow blizzard. Sans didn’t understand it at all- humans didn’t like frigid temperatures, especially if they couldn’t see five feet in front of their vehicle. But you- you waved goodbye that day and left for the mountains. When you returned days later, your mood was over the roof and he swore you were glowing. Something about your trips to the mountains on snowy nights was making you feel immensely better every week. Sans had noted how tense you always were. How much you seemed stretched tight and chronically exhausted. So much so, that you didn’t bother to ask about his new roommates, aka his alternates.Your Soul. Oh your Soul was a whole other story. Your Soul was huge. When Sans saw it for the first time, he nearly tripped over his own slippers. Your entire body emanated energy from your Soul, it barely fit within your Human body- and Sans had wondered more than one time if that was healthy. But you seemed fine, maybe a bit tired. Sans had used blue magic on you once, just to experiment. You hadn’t even felt it, and his magic had slipped off your Soul as if it was a slimy eel. After a couple more tries, Sans gave up with sweat dripping down his skull. Your Soul was immune to blue magic. Somehow. You were his special enigma. He liked you a lot. You were kind, empathetic. Liked Monsters, tolerated Humans, and never seemed to get tired of his puns. ~You were seeing double. You had skipped your last trip up the mountains in favor of studying for finals.Big mistake on your part.Having not shifted in a while, your skin was feeling tight enough that it burned like a thousand bees. Sitting through the lecture, Sans cast a look at you for the fifth time today. He looked concerned, bone brows knitted with worry.“I’m okay.” You insisted, waving him off. “Just tired from studying for finals, that’s all.”Lie.That was the first time you had ever actually lied to Sans. You could see his expression remain neutral, but you were disappointed in yourself for it all the same. You offered a tired smile, as if to silently apologize. But lying wasn’t okay, and you knew it. He knew it. He probably knew you were lying too, considering how in tune Monsters were to Intent. The rest of the class time went by without conversation. You ruminated in it, sulking and itching at your skin. You’d think werewolves would have this problem, not giants- but noooo. You had to feel all the side effects of not returning to your Titan form because of stupid finals. Finals. Absolutely ridiculous and you couldn’t even get the satisfaction of decent grades. Quantum physics was a hard subject, just below an English Major. ~ All those moments that you shared with Sans were flying through your head. Your hands gripped the steering wheel so tightly, knuckles white from the stress. Your breaths were ragged, growls slipping from your lips as you stomped on the gas. You were bursting at the seams, nearly going insane- you couldn’t think straight. You hated lying. You hated lying to Sans the most. The things you did, just to stay alive. It made you angry. It made you mournful. You almost felt…lost in time. Tears were dripping down your face, but you didn’t bother to wipe them away. Breathing, you tried to concentrate on the road. The winter blizzard was immense, and you parked a bit off the road at the next right turn. Shoving the door open, you bundled up in your coat before walking straight into the woods. The perks of the blizzard was the lack of visibility. This meant if somebody spotted a figure much taller than a human amidst the mountains- they wouldn’t be able to prove it to anyone. With a flash of brilliant light, you released the hold on your Soul- allowing your body to grow outwards and upwards. The ground below shrunk drastically, your skin forming into gray, silver, and gold formations that almost mimicked that of tree roots gnarled into patterns. Your hands flexed, eyes closing as the upside-down crescent shaped horns formed from the middle of your forehead and over your eyes. This left the top half of your head commandeered by your horns, but you could see everything just fine with Soul Sight. Giants weren’t biologically the same as Humans- but more similar to Monsters in the sense that they used magic as a sixth sense. Especially if it made up for the loss of another sense, aka sight in your case. The heels of your feet dug into the cold ground, thumping into one of the nearby trees. You shifted, letting out a long deep sigh that sent frosted mist billowing from your lips. The snow blasted around you, clouds gray and sky white. The storm was thick, and the coverage was enough for you to wander just a bit within the mountain range. Walking forward, you could feel the ground vibrate a fraction from your new weight and height. Standing at around ten stories tall, you could be seen as a goddess walking the earth from a human’s perspective. As you walked, you felt…a pulse. A Soul wave length, familiar in its beat. You slowed, turning your big head in the direction of the magic. That felt like…Sans. He shouldn’t be out here, especially not in this bad of a snow storm. Worry laced into your big heart, and you couldn’t help but scan the billowing white for that little upside-down Monster Soul. There. You shifted, heel backing into the oak of a tree and sending it crashing down. Whoops. From the height you stood at, you could see a little car struggling to drive through the storm on the mountain road. Sans was driving, seemingly looking for something. His Soul pulsed with concern and frustration. A speck of sadness dripped from him every few seconds, and you couldn’t help but trail after the little car just to make sure he was making it through safely. It did occur to you as you walked, that he may see your large shadow towering behind in his rearview mirror- but you hoped that the storm would hide you enough. Hope was dangerous to play with however, when it came to your existence and safety. ~ Sans was worried. But he was also feeling betrayed. You’d never lied to him before, so why now? He knew you had secrets, most people did- but how big the secrets were depended on the lengths others would go to- to hide them. And you hid something huge from him- possibly everyone. He had to know. Especially with how…agitated and itchy you’d been acting during Finals week. You had skipped your weekly camping, and it had appeared to affect you much more than a regular Human should experience from just missing a night camping in the mountains. There was something else going on, and Sans was desperate to figure out whether you needed help or not.So Sans was off, driving in the worst snow storm he’d ever experienced, hoping his little beige Volkswagen 60s Slug Bug could handle the lack of traction- but thankfully the engine was built over the back wheels and gave more weight to the tires. Ice was never kind, but he was determined. He was looking for your car, so he could find your campsite, but imagine his surprise when he parks behind your car and finds nothing in the forest besides your vanished foot prints. Stranger and stranger. A gust of wind blasted over Sans, causing him to shiver a fraction and tug his hoodie close. The storm was relentless, and he could barely see a thing as he tromped through the snow. That is, until he felt a presence nearby. Sans turned, sockets going black as voids. He looked, upupup into the white to see the tallest and biggest shadow he’d ever laid eye-lights upon. His entire body froze, instincts screaming in terror at the sheer size of the being before him. He was nothing more than an ant compared to the giant before him, the creature moving slowly but with enough power to crush the trees beneath its feet. Its figure was feminine in shape, but from what he could see, it didn’t have human skin or even eyes. The top half of its head was just a huge crescent; the lower half more human shaped but made of some kind of wooden bone material. The sheer size of it took his breath away. In fact, he coughed out a breath and almost fell backwards as the giantess began to kneel down above him. The wind whooshed over him, and he covered his face as the Titan knelt down as gently as it could, head staring down at Sans with an unreadable expression. A few moments went by, and Sans moved his arm to look at the Titan. It wasn’t moving anymore, as if waiting for something. Sans didn’t realize until now that he was shaking, and it wasn’t from the cold. He’d never in his life seen a creature of this size, especially with how it felt vividly like you. Your Soul was big, and it was bright. Sans could never forget its feeling. And right now… he was feeling it. He could see your Soul within the giant’s gnarled detailed chest, beneath the roots and carvings and tough outer shell, your Soul beat strong. More so than Sans had ever seen before. You were the giant. You were a giantess. Sans jolted out of his stunned thoughts as you shifted, slow and careful as you moved your nearest hand into Sans’ vicinity. He flinched, hesitant from the sheer size of the hand. But you were so gentle, not touching yet but hovering your fingers a couple feet from him. He realized after a moment that your hands were beautiful. Now that they were close up, he could see the gaps between the knuckles, similar to a skeleton hand, but shaped more like a human’s. As if nature and robotics had been melded together into your form and material. It was… a magical and scientific marvel, but what Sans was focusing on right now was how careful you were being. Your body language and Soul all but told him how concerned you were. Even an inkling of fear from you, which Sans only picked up because he was more tuned into emotions than most Monsters. You were scared of judgement. You were always someone Sans had known to be wary of hurting others- but more worried about others hurting you on top of it. Now, Sans understood that so much clearer. It was the Monster Kind’s situation multiplied by one hundred in terms of risk.Something that you were risking right now, for him. You didn’t speak in this form, but your lips pursed upon your face, and Sans could just make out the tiny tremble in your fingers near him. It seemed you were more afraid of him than he was of you. But that fear wasn’t driving you to harm him in any way, in fact, you were blocking the worst of the snowy wind from hitting him with your palm. You were sweet, even when in such a powerful position. Sans was a small Monster, but within the large circumference of your hand, he was no more than the size of a shot glass to you. With a moment of decision, Sans blinked slowly and stepped over to the middle of your palm, placing his phalanges upon the hard surface. You shifted a bit, before your lips pulled into the faintest smile. Relief flowed from your Soul, relaxing Sans’ own worry. You were going to be fine, he was going to be fine. You and him could figure this out, as most things took time. But everything had to start somewhere.
