They were a bit old to be having ‘sleepovers’ with Sena, so they didn’t call it that. But nonetheless, this was seriously terrible sleepover etiquette.“I’ve been up every night for so long, thinking about you…” Mio said into the cross-universal communicator device, biting her lip.
“Don’t worry, soon we won’t have to just think.”
The talking with her ‘boyfriend’ from the other world was one thing—it wasn’t even Mio’s idea at first, but Sena’s—but it was becoming seriously…personal. Too personal.Sure, part of her understood why Mio was so infatuated with this guy; even though Milly didn’t trust him as far as she could throw Gramps, she had seen Noah on a video call before—got her a little warm under the collar herself—but her sister shouldn’t be falling for someone so easily! What if he was some possessive sleazebag? He had to be vetted!
“Oh what I’d do to you if I was there right now…”
“Mmm, would you suck on my toes?”Milly gagged. There was a sentence nobody wanted to hear their sibling say. Where did her innocent little sister learn such perverted things?!“Of course, my sweet Mio, I’ll suck on any part of your body—every part, starting at the bottom, working my way up your beautiful legs…”Bleeugh, disgusting. And ‘my’ sweet Mio? How dare he act so familiar with her! Talking like she was his possession!Sena scratched the back of her head, and flashed Milly an awkward smile; the weird, involuntary one someone made when experiencing severe second-hand embarrassment; solid proof that Milly wasn’t just out of her mind; this was way too much information.“I can’t wait to have you with me again, Noah. I bought some special clothes for you to pull off my legs…” Mio purred, to which her boyfriend responded by unwholesomely growling her name over the phone.Milly couldn’t believe her fucking ears; is that what those fancy leggings were for?! Milly had helped her pick those out, and even defended her against Mum and Mom, who thought they were too racy! She had no idea Mio was planning to use them for something like that… And what did Mio mean by ‘again’?Ughhh, couldn’t she have picked any other time of the day to have disturbing sex talk with him? Every accursed sentence made her want to scrub her ears and brain with soap. And then it just got worse, and worse.  She wished there was a clock in the room. Then she would know how long this endless moment had dragged on for.“Okay, I gotta hang up, my communicator’s almost out of charge”Milly thanked whoever invented the passage of time.
“Hm, mine’s getting low too… We’ll talk tomorrow then. I love you, Mio!”
“I love you too!”With a few wet, repulsive fake kissing noises from both of them and then a beep, the phone call—and psychological torment—mercifully ended.Mio leaned back and sighed contentedly, stretching her arms. She looked to her side, only to be greeted by Milly staring at her with well-earned grouchiness.“What?” Mio asked.‘What?’ she said. Milly bloody wondered. What a mystery. “You do know we’ve been here beside you this whole time, right?”“Yeah, so?”Milly paused, completely dumbfounded. That an explanation was even necessary was amazing, in the worst way. “That entire conversation was super gross, and it was weird of you to have it while we were listening, Sis.”“Whaaaat? No way.” Mio, for some reason sounded puzzled, as if she hadn’t massively overshared utter filth to her sister and friend. “Sena, you’re with me right?”Sena fidgeted with her hands. “Uhh, it was a little weird…” she said, making a slow pinching gesture with her fingers. “I think being separated from him made you both a bit too… eager?”Separated? What? All kinds of weird lines from both of them, that implied Mio and Noah already knew each other closely; maybe they had met before in ‘Aionios’, but if that were the case, nobody had told Milly anything about it. They couldn’t have been that close, right?Whatever. The more she heard, the less she liked him. Maybe she would warm up to him after they met, but she wasn’t counting on it.  Noah looked at Lanz, confused by the dumbfounded stare. “What?”“‘What?’ he says. I bloody wonder. What a mystery,” Lanz replied, in the most bitingly sarcastic voice he could muster.Eunie chuckled, crossing her arms. “Didn’t Queen Nia teach you ’bout etiquette or somethin’ back in Aionios? Guess you forgot all that. Maybe the both of you need gags.”Lanz chuffed. “Oh, like you’re one to talk. I’m never stayin’ overnight at your place again if Ashera’s home. Or at your neighbors.”“Oh yeah?” She grinned, and playfully raised an eyebrow. “Sounds like somebody’s jealous that I’ve already got my girl right here, while his Travis is on the other side.”“Ohoho, now it’s on!”

----- CHAPTER BREAK -----

Milly lay down in her bed and let out a deep sigh, gazing at the evening sun outside the window. It had been six days since the Controlled Intersection—the project to enable safe travel between the two worlds—and thanks to some apparent heroism that allowed the Origin project to complete successfully, Mio’s boyfriend and some of his own friends were among the first to transfer over. And oh how that man filled her with righteous fury. The very first night! The night of the very first day he arrived, they had—to put it bluntly—gone to Mio’s room and fucked like bunnits! At least, that’s what it sounded like, with the mattress squeaking, and Mio yelling ‘more’ and ‘faster Noah’ and ‘just like that’.Milly had no desire to see this stranger defile her dear little sister, so she’d just seethed in rage while listening from the secret tunnels in the walls. What a scoundrel. He hadn’t even taken her to dinner yet! Milly spent that session grinding her teeth together and wondering what blunt object would hurt the most if she swung it between his legs. It was unbelievable that he even had energy for it, after the rigorous—and very violent—drills that Milly put him through as punishment for being her sister’s boyfriend. It had been the same every other night as well. Sometimes during the day too, with excuses like ‘we’re just going to play some tunes together’. Uh-huh. Somehow, Milly doubted she was asking him to read sheet music ‘harder’. It wasn’t her flute that Mio was begging him to finger, either. Why, she could just imagine that brute pulling his shirt off, revealing that solid core and chest; untying that stupid ponytail, letting his hair cascade over his hard shoulders; splaying her le— her sister’s legs apart by the knees… H-how awful! The very thought had Milly all riled up—with pure rage, that is.She was right to be worried about him. Noah might have been a hero in the temporary world Origin created, but who could say if he was the same person in reality? Judging by that loathsome phone call and their daily dalliances, he was clearly a pervert at least!Mam insisted that ‘yer sis is an adult too’, and that the pair had already been together in that world many times, but that didn’t make Milly feel any better about it. If anything, it made her worry more that Noah could have manipulated her; buttered her up with false promises, made her feel like she had no-one else to rely on, that she didn’t need her family anymore… That’s probably why she spent all her time with him now, instead of her siblings! But… Milly didn’t want to be cruel. Her sister did seem happy…She wracked her brain, plotting the best way to try and investigate him more—to give him a chance, without completely letting her guard down; she also needed to figure out how to get Mio to divide her time more evenly between sister and boyfriend, because this was totally unfair. After an uncertain span of time passed, she heard a knock on the door. “M-Milly?” came Mio’s voice. “Can I come in?”Milly sighed, and sat up on the bed. “Come on in, it’s open.”Her sister slowly opened the door and crept in. She looked intensely nervous, face flushed red as a whisper tomato. “Um, I was wondering… I was… You wouldn’t… judge me if I asked you something, would you?”“Sure…” Milly said apprehensively, trying to keep a cool head. Normally she’d be glad that Mio was talking to her instead of hanging out with ‘Pretty Boy’, but her sense of foresight made her heart thump—bad vibes were coming from whatever Mio was about to say. “What is it, Sis?”She was probably about to ask for Milly’s blessing of the relationship, or to not put Noah through the wringer. Well it wasn’t happening! She couldn’t promise to be okay with the guy before unmasking his true self, and confirming his trustworthiness; that was simply too much to ask for.“… I was, um… I really trust you, Milly, and you me, right? J-just like M-Mom and Mum do?” Mio cleared her throat, no longer looking her in the eye. “I was thinking it might be fun to— to i-invite, uh—”Oh no. Milly’s vision was suddenly headed in a direction she didn’t like. It was all well and good for their Aegis parents, but…“Sis,” she interrupted sternly, “I still love you, but I will bring a Sacred Arrow down on this room if you finish that sentence.”
