She sat down at a table after the person behind the counter took her order. Y/N made herself comfortable, shifting in her seat in the corner of the Jitters by a window. She took out her phone and started scrolling on her social media app for a few minutes awaiting her coffee to be brought to her. She looked over at the window of the building. There was a rainstorm. Y/N enjoyed the sight of it, it calmed her mood. She smiled and looked back down at her phone. Suddenly, a man with a recognizable hat came over to her.She looked up to notice HR. She set her phone on the table. She smiled at the man and nodded in greeting.“Hello, miss Y/N!” HR smiled back, holding his hands behind his back. He held a Jitters menu behind him and rocked back and forth on his heels. “I haven’t seen you at Jitters in a while.” He mused, stopping his action and looking at the floor, seeming to be embarrassed.Y/N shook her head. “Well, I have been quite busy..” She began.HR looked up. “Too busy for coffee??” He cut her off. He set his menu down on the table.She opened her mouth to speak before shutting it quickly. She giggled a little at the man’s words. “Of course not!” She began again. “I have just been making some at home. I have been dealing with a lot of work.”“Ah.” HR nodded, understanding. “What do you do for work?” He asked.Y/N tapped on the table with her fingers before answering. “Well, I am doing reporter work right now. I would love for my boss to at least get what I am trying to bring to the table.” Y/N shook her head. “Enough about that.”The person from behind the counter came over, setting down Y/N’s drink. They nodded to her and went off. Y/N looked pleased that she had received her drink. She took a sip of it. She nodded, taking in the warmth of her drink.“This is amazing.” She said finally.HR nodded, smiling at Y/N. “I am glad you like it.” He then looked over to the window of the café.“The rain seems to be pouring hard out there.” HR said, with a little bit of uncertainty in his voice.“I do quite enjoy the rain.” Y/N stated, looking down at her drink. “What about you?” She asked, lifting her head to the man.But, HR was too busy looking out at a woman walking into the establishment. She held an umbrella close to her. Closing her umbrella, she pushed the doors open and looked around. She then caught HR’s gaze. She smiled and walked over to the man.“It is always nice to see you!” HR greeted the woman, pulling her into a hug. The woman hugged him back. She then pulled away to shake her umbrella from the rain droplets that managed to stick with her.Y/N pulled her phone closer to her, placing it into her raincoat pocket. She looked down at the table and back to the two. The woman had pulled HR into a kiss. Y/N looked the other way as the two were kissing. She took out her wallet, leaving money to pay for her drink before taking her drink and walking away. She took the route to the back doors of the Jitters and left without the two noticing her.When the two finally pulled away from each other. HR smiled. “Y/N this is Tracy.” He started, turning around. “Tracy this is…” He looked at the spot Y/N was just at before looking around the café. “Y/N?”The rain poured hard down on her and she practically ran out of the cafe. Her running then slowed to a slight jog and then to a walk after a while. Her tears were hidden by the rain. Though, she felt numb.“Y/N, where are you going?” HR asked, finally catching up to her and trailing behind her. He did his best to keep up.“HR, just leave me alone.” She shooed him away, continuing at her pace.“Can’t we just talk..?” HR pleaded.Y/N turned to face him swiftly, taking a deep breath in. “You led me on, HR Wells!” She said finally, her tone harsh, even towards the man she loved.“I-I didn’t lead you on, Y/N.”“Then what was that?” She asked, pointing towards Jitters before letting her hand fall to her side. “You are obviously taken, so just leave me be.” She said before turning around. She was about to walk away before HR grabbed her arm, spinning her around. He pulled her in for a kiss. Y/N’s hands instinctively went to HR’s chest. The man cupped Y/N’s cheek with his one free hand. The kiss deepened and hands began to trail along to certain areas, before the two pulled away from each other. Y/N caught her breath, staring at HR with confusion.HR caught the confusion in her face and chuckled a little before returning to a more serious tone. “Tracy and I, we haven’t been the same. We were thinking about moving on.” HR began. He gestured towards the Jitters. “The kiss back there, it was a goodbye kiss.”“I wish I would have known, I am so sorry..” Y/N looked down at the wet ground. HR stepped forward, listing her chin up with his hand.“Don’t apologize.” HR said, smiling at her. “I am glad to be here with you.”Y/N smiled at him. “So, are we just going to be standing out here in the rain all night or will you take me somewhere?”HR shook his head. “I am not so sure actually.” He said, pulling on a thinking expression, playfully. “Have you ever danced in the rain?”Y/N scoffed. “No!”“Well.. would you like to, m’lady?” HR asked, holding out his hand for Y/N to take. She looked between his face and his hand before settling on taking it. The two smiled at each other as they went along in the rain.
