?” Maddy sputtered—sounding almost offended at the idea. “Don’t be ridiculous, Antonio!”
Hiding behind her long, wavy, aqua green hair in an attempt to hide her slowly reddening face—glaring at the older boy with piercing eyes.
Her skin was smooth and the color of porcelain like the dolls she loved so much.
She was sporting purple lollipop earrings with a matching leather jacket, matching knee high boots, a black crop top, a pair of dragon wing shaped sunglasses, and black, ripped skinny jeans.
She had been friends with Rick, Claudine, and Antonio for awhile now—six months counted as awhile, right?—but it felt like they had known one another forever.
They had met at a concert Maddy was playing in with her band—’The Bad Apples’—and upon realizing that Lee and the G twins were friends with both of them, they hit it off and were now almost inseparable.
Much to Antonio’s amusement and Alma’s horror.
But luckily for Maddy, Rick and Claudine’s father, Bruno, was surprisingly supportive of their friendship—even if more than a few people in the Encanto had their concerns. So it wasn’t very hard for them to hang out and grow closer. Which Antonio was very happy about.
But there was one thing Antonio was not happy about regarding their friendship.
The pinning.
Antonio just could not stand the pinning between his cousin, Rick, and Maddy. The never ending, near suffocating pinning that was noticeable to anyone with eyes.
The pinning that made Antonio want to flee into the safety of his jungle room and never return.
He just couldn’t take it anymore. So he decided to do something that could be considered more than a little petty.
Which was outright asking Maddy if she had a crush on Rick in front of Rick—taking full advantage of his cousin’s gift.
Rick froze momentarily as a sharp shock rang out through his body before spinning around to face Maddy. His best female friend and his crush.
Dark brown eyes widening as he stared at her.
Meeting her aqua green eyes that were as wide as dinner plates at this point as she realized just what Antonio had done.
As she realized that Rick now knew that she had feelings for him at the exact same time as everyone else in the room realized it.
Rory and Miguel Jr. cackled.
Zoey snorted.
Rachel rolled her eyes, wondering how she was related to such an oblivious idiot.
Maddy paled.
Rick blushed and couldn’t stop staring.
Claudine dropped both her jaw and her Arepa.
And Antonio?
Well.. Antonio just smirked, leaning back in his chair. "Beep. Beep. "
His smirk was knocked right off his face when Maddy launched herself at him. Glowing with fury “ANTONIO BRUNO ESPINOSA MADRIGAL!”
“Is the full name really necessary—”
“YOU LITTLE SHIT!”
“Hey guys I’m back from the sho—Oh wow, Hermano, what did you do to get on her bad side?”
“CAMILO SAVE ME! I'M INNOCENT!”
“No he isn’t!”
“Hmm…. I think I’m gonna stay out of this one, Tonio.”
