"So you're telling me you'd beat SpiderMan in a fight?" "Hell yeah Jacob! I'm all super strong and stuff. I'd definitely beat SpiderMan." Milo said. Milo was always this egotistic.Ever since he got his powers he's acted like the center of the universe. When I'm over and can easily beat him with ease."Alright alright." I said. "Damn, the sun's setting. Getting late. Hey, um I'll catch you later bro, I promised my big brother I'd help him with his invention." I said. "Alright, I'll catch you later." Milo said.We then did our special little handshake and went our separate ways. Oh I'm sorry for all the readers here reading my little thoughts. I haven't really introduced myself have I?I'm Jacob James. Fifteenth teen years old in great old NYC. I'm happy to help when I can, especially when it means fighting crime. You see, I was born with Mutant DNA due to my dad who was a mutant himself. So, I gained powers. You know, I’ve always thought about if I could become a famous hero. Like SpiderMan or Ant-man. Who knows maybe if get lucky I could be Captain America famous. That’s my dream. But one can hope am I right?Invisibility, agility, and dark like energy but since that's the most dangerous power, I decided not to use it until I'm fully ready. So yeah, that's my story and now I'm jumping rooftop to rooftop to my brother's lab. Chris has always been a tech geek. At just age eight he was able to build his first automated robot! He may've not inherited powers but he sure does have some mental powers at the least. Chris and I have become real close the past few years. Especially during and after the snap and losing our dad. It was hard, but Chris and I stayed strong and got through it.My brother's the best it's just that he gets a bit too into his work sometimes. I finally had made it to his lab. I knocked on the window as Chris saw me and rolled his eyes. I winked. Chris then opened the window."Come in my vigilante hero of a brother." Chris said sarcastically. "Nice one Chris." I said laughing."It's not that funny guys. Chris, Jacob, are you two gonna stand there and be useless or are you two going to help?" Tristan said."Dang dude, my brother just came. Can't I say hi?" Chris said."Yeaaah, but I would appreciate if you'd get back on task and give me that screwdriver." Tristan said.Tristan had always been a buzzkill. Always thrown into his work. Can't blame him though, the reveal is only in a few days. I went to the tool box and grabbed some of the cords and screws and headed to the machines"You know guys, you've been working on this thing for quite some time. What does it do exactly?" I asked."Glad you asked lil' bro. What this invention does is that it makes unproblematic energy. Now, electricity and such can now be used with a push of a button." Chris said."Wow, you guys really are taking the go big or go home phrase serious aren't y'all?" I said."Yep, and I can assure you that everyone there, will have their minds blown." Chris said."Yea, now if you'd excuse us we need to finish the invention Jacob." Tristan said. I rolled my eyes and rolled up my sleeves to help set up the cords to the invention. Passing screws and and connecting cords was all I did. While Chris and Tristan do the magic. Whatever it is.We eventually got to a stopping point and decided to stop where we were and pack it in for the night."Ok, that's enough for today. Whew! Nothing like working out your muscles by using a screwdriver and wrench for six hours." Chris said."I know that's right." Tristan said. "But hey, I got to get going my dad making some real good pork chops I don't want to miss." He said."Alright, make sure to bring those batteries on your way here tomorrow." Chris said. "I won't forget Chris, I'm not Jacob." He said. "Hey, I don't forget everything." I said laughing. We all had a good laugh as we left the lab out to the nearby Chinese Restaurant for some grub before we went home."So how's life being a vigilante?" Chris asked eating egg rolls."Pretty easy to be honest. Like fighting muggers, gang members, and robbers is pretty easy. Especially with Milo by my side." I said."Yeah, I just know Dad would've been proud of ya." Chris said. "But he's-" "Gone." I said. Dad's death really broke the both of us. But it really damaged Chris. All his life Chris had always felt useless when he was born without powers unlike me. Dad always told him he was special with or without powers. He would try his best to help Chris with his inventions when he could. Not only that he taught us martial arts and jujitsu when he was around. I miss him a lot. Can't believe one snap caused my dad's plane to go down in flames.I can just remember hearing the news. Half of the earth's population had disappeared. Our mother was snapped away too. They had us put in a center for about four years until they all came back.My brother and I had a silent moment for a few minutes as we were eating our food in silence as we could just remember all the fun times we would have with dad. Especially here. He take us here every Tuesday. Takeout Tuesday he would call it."Hey, it's ok." I said to Chris "I-I know it's just-I can't believe it's almost been two years since dad's not been here and now we're with mom. The last person I'd want to live with." Chris said. "Would you rather live with a serial killer?" I said sarcastically.Chris slightly chuckled as I brought up his mood. "I'll get over it soon but, it's gonna be long while till I do." He said. "I know and that's okay. People have their ways. I'm just glad you up and smiling." I said. "Thanks Jacob, I needed that." Chris said. I then got a call from Milo."Hello?" I said. "Bro, suit up right now! I just saw SpiderMan swing over where you at! This could be our chance to meet SpiderMan in person!" Milo said screaming through the phone."Okay, hold up I'll be right there. Sorry Chris I-" "It's okay. Better bring me an autograph though." Chris said slurping his drink. I then ran as fast as I could put the restaurant, to the alley, from the walls, and onto the rooftops.
