NOTE: This Wukong and Macaque are younger than the originals and have slightly different dynamics with the group, and in mortal terms would be considered a bit older than MK, Mei, and Red Son. But like Red Son, they'd technically be centuries old. Mei and MK are 17, Red Son is considered 18 in mortal terms, and Wukong and Macaque are 20-21 in mortal terms when they meet MK! A rock on a quiet mountain day unexpectedly cracked open, revealing a rock egg.And a powerful little monkey hatched out.Beams of light pierced the sky, and the little monkey blinked owlishly, "Hello?" He called out.Rustling met his ears and he scooted forward, parting the branches of the bush. A black-furred monkey met him and nervously chirped, "Hello." The newly born monkey squeaked in surprise, "Who are you?"---A young Wukong peeked through the leaves, staring in awe at the 'humans' training. Macaque tugged at his arm and whispered, "They're learning about something. Humans gain power through runes and then, later on, learn from them. That's what one of the elders said, anyway."Wukong smirked cheekily, "Well, as newly-crowned king, I say we grab the runes!" Macaque gasped, "What if we get caught?" Wukong pushed back strands of his hair behind his ears, "I'll go get them, then, and you wait for me. I'll share them with you!" Macaque hesitated, "Will you be fine alone?" Wukong nodded and snuck into the building.A bag of runes and angry shouts later, Wukong presented Macaque with the runes proudly. "What do they do?" Wukong shrugged, "I don't know, but some of them are identical so we'll take one of each of them." They each swallowed each of the marble-like runes until none were left.As they ate them, they were hit with knowledge about the new abilities they gained. Now to learn how to use them properly...Wukong puffed out his chest, "Bear!" He shrunk in size. "Ugh, I said bear! Not shrink!" Macaque giggled while watching a couple of shadows swirl under his fingertips. This was fun.---When Wukong accidentally stumbled into the dragon's underwater home, the dragon simply invited him for tea. Something told him not to mess with the monkey.Wukong chattered happily before gasping, "Oh! I will need a weapon to defend my people, won't I?" The dragon hummed in agreement, "Whatever you find you can use, young king." Wukong grinned and looked around the home, examining the weapons.Just as he reached for a sword he suddenly placed his hand on a column. And shrank it into a staff."This will do! Thank you!" The dragon nodded at the unpredictable youth, watching him walk up the river floor toward the surface, and sighed. This one was going to be a problem, he just knew it.---Wukong and Macaque were roughhousing together, rolling around in the mud, and really messing each other up, laughing loudly. Wukong suddenly sat up, "What's that guy doing?" Macaque looked over and was equally confused.A glowing man was riding a cloud, up into the sky.Wukong looked at Macaque and grinned widely, "I'm gonna see what's up there." Macaque shrugged, "I'll let the others know. Don't be too long!" Wukong waved a hand at him and rushed off.Wukong used his power of flight to grab a cloud, using his energy to get it to let him ride it. Then he ascended, flying past the clouds, high up in the sky. Then he reached a huge palace, full of glowing deities.Wukong snuck around, exploring with pure awe. There was so much going on! He watched people in fancy clothes rushing about and frowned in confusion, why did they cover their bodies? It wasn't cold.Wukong himself wore nothing, if he was cold he'd simply bathe in the hot springs with his people and Macaque.Wukong then noticed an orchid full of peach trees. The king eyed the ripe fruit with hungry eyes, immediately deciding what he wanted for lunch. He climbed into the trees, eating peach after peach until the tree had no more. He felt a weird fuzzy feeling form in his chest, little did he know he'd achieved immortality. Content, he lounged for a while and made sure to snatch a peach for Macaque to try. Then a sweet smell tickled his nose, and he peered down at five servants walking into a room, each one carrying a vase of sweet-smelling liquid. He then decided what he wanted to quench his thirst with. And so he snuck into the room and drank two vases of the elixir, again he felt fuzzy. And light-headed.Now drunk, the king didn't bother being sneaky. He simply trashed the room, eating anything he could fit in his mouth, including a handful of pills. Again, the fuzzy feeling washed over him and he made sure throughout his rampage that he grabbed a few for Macaque. He had to feel the fuzzy feeling, too!Hiding the pills in his long hair and a peach in his left hand, he rushed out, destroying or eating anything he came across. "WHAT IN THE- ACK!" The poor deities attending the party were tussled around as Wukong used them like stepping stones and obstacles, laughing manically."IT'S THE MONKEY THAT SHOT LASERS THROUGH HEAVEN!" A new panic set in, and the drunken king simply saw it as fun.Until two giant deities grabbed him and shoved him into a giant lit furnace.Wukong snarled and thrashed wildly as the smoke burned his eyes, and he punched and scratched at the insides of the furnace. "This will surely burn the immortality out of him!" Wukong paused his rage and huffed, immortality? He was immortal? How? When?Questions later, OUT NOW NOW NOW! The feral monkey rocketed inside the furnace, creating such a ruckus in the smog the furnace turned over, popping open. Smoke bellowed into the room, and two angry blazing red eyes glared at everyone.Oh, boy.---When no one-- including Nezha of all people!-- couldn't stop the volatile monkey, Buddha was called down.Poor Wukong didn't realize what was going on, he just wanted to go home and give Macaque the stupid peach and pills he was sure his friend would enjoy. How was he supposed to know he was at the mercy of Buddha himself? So he lunged at the man staring him down, scratching him harshly, and hissing loudly. The god screamed out in shock, sending Wukong crashing down. Before Wukong could get up and run, a mountain was dropped onto him. He desperately protected the peach in his hands, holding it away from the mountain. Then a seal was placed to keep him in place.---He hated this. Why was he being punished? Why was he 'fed' metal pellets and given molten copper to 'drink'?Why were his 'caretakers' trying so hard to take away his peach?
And why didn't the peach rot?
---The monk pulled off the seal, and Wukong wasted no time getting out. "Thank you! I thought I'd never get out!" He stretched, and Tripitaka looked away with a squeak, "Yes, well, Guan Yin said that you must protect me on this journey...and as a token of friendship, she told me to give you this crown and clothes."He held out the stack of clothes towards the mangy monkey and cleared his throat awkwardly. Wukong ran a hand along the stack and groaned, placing the crown on his head and pulling on the clothes. He scrunched his nose, "Yeah, noooo... This needs some changes."He threw off the boots and almost all of the clothes except his pants. "I'm still free~!" Tripitaka sighed, "Good enough."---Wukong was miserable. He could only kill demons. Nothing else was allowed to die because of him.Baiji was annoying and loud, he even got Wukong kicked out twice! Each time Wukong saved his home, tried to find Macaque, and then would get dragged back into the stupid journey. Sometimes he wasn't even allowed to return to his mountain and had to stay with Guanyin.Macaque was looking for him, but Wukong couldn't go out for him. Not with the stupid fillet around his skull. He was unpredictable and violent, so the crown was used to keep him in check for the journey. He was profusely promised that it'd be removed once the journey was over, but it still hurt.He liked Bai Long and Wujing, though. They respected his boundaries, understanding that the wild child was simply chaotic out of nature. And they never bothered him about the peach in his bag or the pills in his pockets.Tripitaka was...okay. He didn't like him, but he didn't hate him. And if Wukong was being honest, he was a little afraid of the monk. His master could hurt him, but he wasn't allowed to do anything back.---The day had started off as usual. But while Wujing set up camp, Wukong heard leaves rustling. His fur bristled and he quietly stalked toward a tree. As soon as he was under it, a familiar voice rang out, "Wait I know that messy, tumbled fur anywhere! WUKONG!" He crashed to the ground, grunting from the impact before rolling over and laughing loudly, "MACAQUE!"The darker monkey sat up and grinned, "Wait- Are you wearing PANTS?!" Wukong huffed, "I have to. Wait- You're wearing CLOTHES! Like, all of it except for shoes!" Macaque laughed loudly, "Yeah, I met some humans a couple of months since you disappeared. Say, where were you? I was sure you died!" Wukong, not noticing his traveling companions had caught up to them, boasted loudly, "I was on the clouds in a palace! But they didn't like me.""Then I tried to fight this guy and was pinned under a mountain. For 500 YEARS! And get this! Now I'm stuck here until I finish this stupid journey. OH! I got you some of the stuff I ate up there!" He handed over the peach and pills, smiling proudly, "They make you feel fuzzy!"Before the monk could say anything, Macaque bit down on the peach, swallowing the sweet fruit. Tripitaka exhaled sharply, "That was a peach of immortality! Wukong, whatever you ate and drank must be why you're immortal!" The monkey shrugged, "Oh. Well, I guess we'll be together forever!" Macaque smiled softly, "I wouldn't have it any other way."---Wukong had never felt angrier.A stupid demon had attacked while he was gathering food, and it was standing over a bloody Macaque.His Macaque.The injured monkey looked up at Wukong, his face so bloody it was almost unrecognizable.
And the volatile monkey

snapped

.
---The others feared him. He knew that. After the journey ended, the only one who remained by his side was Liu Er. And much to his delight, Macaque's blindness didn't slow him down one bit. He was proud to have him by his side...But it still hurt that his companions saw him as only a monster. That's okay, though. Macaque was more than enough for him.---In a rare act of mercy, the deadly hero gave the Demon Bull King two options."Look, I will not kill you. Instead, I will banish you for 500 years in solitude in a cave on a mountain only I know of. But- You can bring your wife and son to live with you if you wish. Being alone is not...fun." The king knew too well what solitude was like. The Bull King was tempted, but he didn't want to drag them down into solitude with him. He didn't want his son to grow up like that, "No, I will go alone. Just do me a favor?" The Monkey King glared down at him, "What?""As long as I am banished, treat them like allies. Please.""Fine."

----- CHAPTER BREAK -----

(REMINDERS FOR THIS AU: The scripts are altered, Pigsy and Tang are married, they adopted MK when he was a young child, and MK was born a monkey, not a human! That, and that Monkey King's hearing is garbage-) It was another day at the noodle shop, MK was fawning as Tang concluded the story."--And with the Demon Bull King gone, civilization was able to advance into the amazing city we now live in. A world of elegant cultures, gentle loving people, a city brimming with five-star cuisine, and all because of the Monkey King." MK squealed, "Oh, that's so good! Monkey King's so cool! He's so strong-"Tang chuckled at the young man, "Oh, MK. And you thought you knew all the Monkey King stories." MK gasped with mock offense at his father, "Oh, but I do. I got his whole life documented extensively in this unauthorized autobiography of Monkey King. Written and illustrated by yours truly. And-!"Tang smiled fondly, " It's nice to know someone's taking in all these stories. Pearls of wisdom, dripping from my lips. Anyhow, pass me a bowl, will you?" MK nodded, "Oh, yeah! Here-" A stern pig chef swiped away the bowl, "Nu-uh! Only for lunch, Tang. Otherwise, I'll have nothin' left to sell!"Pigsy then jabbed a finger at MK, "AND YOU! You've been slackin' off all morning! Out! How else am I gonna expand my business into enemy territory?" MK snorted, "Uh, you mean the noodle shop across the street..?"" I stand by my statement! Now, hurry up!" Pigsy then whirled around, catching Tang as he snatched a bowl of noodles, "OH NO YOU DON'T-" MK simply walked out as chaos ensued.--Bull King emerged from the mountain and growled angrily. Two figures greeted him, "Found you. You only had, what? A hundred years left to go?""Missed you, too."--MK bobbed his head to the music blasting in his ears, dodging lava rocks and watching the waves splash over the motorboat. This thing was seriously cool, he had to thank Mei later! He swerved to a stop, collecting the noodles from the back and trudging up the sand. A couple was vacationing on Flower Fruit Mountain, famous for its main inhabitant! The Monkey King!Or it was.Nobody's seen him or his shadowy companion in years.MK sauntered through the foliage, dancing along to the beat. A movement n his right made him stop, though. He peeked down at his pocket and spotted Tang's mom's necklace peeking out and groaned, so that's what he'd forgotten! Tang had dropped it earlier that day and MK was supposed to give it back! Well, he'll do that when he gets back-Another flurry of movement. Before MK could make a sound, dull orange fur came into view and the weight in his pocket lightened. "An intruder, hm? Well, this is shiny." The figure leaped up onto a branch and examined the necklace. MK bristled, "Hey! That's not yours-""Is now." The monkey kneeled over the branch, taunting the brown monkey below him, "It's on my mountain, so it's mine." MK huffed, "Listen, you-" The monkey suddenly frowned and put a hand to his ear, pulling out a...staff? "Ugh, why was it shoved in there? I hate it when that happens! Now my ear feels all weird-""Y-You're- You're the Monkey King-!" MK gaped at the literal legend before him, and Wukong perked up, "Oh, a fan, huh? Hmm, tell ya what. You seem fun, so I'll let you have the necklace back." MK grinned, "Really?-"Then the mischievous monkey slid the staff through the necklace, plopped onto the ground, stacked two rocks, and balanced the staff on top. "If you can pick up my staff and slide the necklace out, it's yours!" MK grimaced, "Oh, boy. Anything for Dad, I guess..." MK breathed in deeply and wrapped his hands around the magic pillar, readying himself for the strain and pulling up with all his might----Only for it to weigh like a feather and slam into his face."OWOWOWOW- Wait I did it?!" Wukong gaped at the boy before erupting in loud laughter, "OH- Oh that was SO FUNNY! HAH- Welp you know what this means, bud." MK shook his head hesitantly, "Uh...what?" Wukong huffed impatiently, "You've got an option. You can become my successor.""What."Wukong huffed, "Don't tell me your ears suck, too!" MK shook his head, "No no, I heard you, I just... Can I think about it..?" Wukong rolled his eyes, "Fine."--Mei chattered away with Tang, "Say, when's MK supposed to be back?" Pigsy huffed, "Don't ask. You'll summon hi-"The doors slammed open with a BANG, "GUYSGUYSGUYSGUYS!!"Pigsy ran a hand down his face, "What did I say." MK rushed inside, gasping for breath. Mei noticed the staff and beamed, "Wow MK, you found a stick!" MK huffed, "It's Monkey King's staff- I LIFTED IT AND NOW HE WANTS ME TO BE HIS SUCCESSOR WHAT DO I DO?!"Everyone laughed loudly, "Oh, MK, I think my stories are getting into your head." MK frowned, "No, it's really his staff! I- UGH how do I prove it!" He slammed the staff down, and it suddenly shrank before expanding, catapulting all over the noodle shop. Everyone ducked and amid the chaos Tang screeched, "IT REALLY IS MONKEY KING'S STAF!!"Once the staff settled, everyone emerged, shocked."So, uh, do I say yes..?"Mei suddenly piped up, "Uh...So Demon Bull King's back.""WHAT?!"--Adorned with Red Son's power-absorption armor, DBK rampaged the antique store, taking anything rare.A silverware set from 1682.A rare collector's item.A real diamond necklace.Red Son cackled happily, "And once you get the staff, no one will be able to stop you, Father!" The Bull King grinned, "Your armor will give me the power I deserve..."--"Pigsy, watch where you're going! You're gonna kill us!" The tuk-tuk swerved on the road, causing the group beside Pigsy to yelp. "Guys! Demon Bull King has moved downtown. He's destroying the stalls!" Mei sulked.MK huffed with frustration, "All the more reason to get this staff back to Monkey King! It's the only place he could be. Right, Dad?" Tang nodded, "Indeed. However, Flower Fruit Mountain is hidden away, deep in dangerous and unknown territory. So I guess we better turn back!" MK stared in disbelief, "BUT I WAS THERE THIS MORNING!"Tang shrugged, "Monkey King's also known to be dangerous, MK. It's for your safety. And ours." Pigsy scoffed at his husband, "Shut it, you big baby. I know a guy that can take us there. The most dangerous, deadly, raged-filled warrior I've ever known." MK and Mei gasped in surprise as they came to a stop by a boat."Sandy."Inside the boat, MK looked up uneasily at the huge figure as Tang finished explaining, "That's a lot to take in. You know what I do to people who disrupt the peace?" No one said a word."Serve them! Do you guys want some? You? How about that guy over there? Huh? Huh?" Tang immediately loosened up and grinned, "Oh, yes! Don't mind if I do. Certain noodle shop owners could learn a lot from your hospitality, Sandy." Mei giggled, "Oh, you're right piggy, this guy is dangerous. He'll kill us with cuteness!" She plopped a cat on Pigsy's head."It's my own blend of anti-stress fruits. It really brings the heart rate down." Pigsy groaned, " Sandy! What happened to you? Where's the angry, glass-chewing, fist-throwing buddy I used to know?" Sandy smiled softly, "Oh well, my therapist said I really needed to calm down. That's why I started drinking tea. Doing yoga. Investing in therapy cats. Really helps. Oh, don't you, Mo?"A blue cat rubbed against the gentle giant, causing Mei and MK to 'aw'. Mei suddenly dropped to her knees, "Oh Mr. Sandy sir. We could really use your help. We've gotta get to Flower Fruit Mountain!" MK also plopped down, "Please, the fate of the world is at stake!""Okay.""Wait really?" Sandy nodded, "But it won't be a splendid trip. Ever since DBK was released, the lava islands have expanded drastically." MK gulped, "Got it." Sandy stood up, "Alright, let's get moving. But I'm telling you, old friend. If things get hairy, I've changed. I don't go around picking fights no more. Mo, initiate the launch sequence!"Mei squealed, "LOCK SEQUENCE?!" A rumble erupted from the boat, "Onwards to Flower Fruit Mountain!" Mk and Mei cheered.--Red Son hummed at the screens, "Some noodle boy has the staff and is heading to the Monkey King." The boy's mother hummed in thought, "Oh, my sweet boy...Mother will get the staff. I'm not about to let anyone stop us. Not this time."And as the wind picked up dramatically, she disappeared.--MK posed dramatically, waving the staff around, "Halt evil monster! I must thwart thee! For I am the Monkey Ki-AAAAGH-" The staff extended, breaking part of the boat and almost crushing Mei, "Woo, that was awesome!""Sorry, Mei!" MK sighed before suddenly beaming, "HEY, THERE IT IS!" A geyser suddenly went off, throwing the boat off course, "AHHHH!""Welcome to the Flaming Mountains, gang! A volcanic ring surrounds the mountain making it virtually impassable. This path is the only safe way through. That's as close as the boat can get. Just... be careful." Sandy warned."Stupid Sandy. Stupid Tang. Staying cozy in his stupid boat. What did I do to deserve this, Noodle Gods?" Pigsy suddenly jumped out of the way as a geyser went off, "ACK-" Mei hopped around, "Careful, piggy! Eeeee! You gotta wonder why Monkey King decided to live here of all places. Actually, never mind it makes sense."MK narrowly dodged a stream of lava, "You know when Monkey King had to get through the Flaming Mountains he actually used Princess Iron Fan fan's to blow--" Hot wind swirled around them as a voice rang out, "Well, well, well. Aren't you a little Monkey King fanboy." Using her fan, she blew them back, dangerously close to the molten rock.Pigsy yelled out in a panic, "Kids! Everyone okay?" The powerful woman cackled loudly, "I'll be taking that staff now." MK, despite facing certain death, refused, "This belongs to the Monkey King. There's no way I'm letting you take it." Princess Iron Fan tsked, " Oh your just a little Noodle Boy playing at being a hero. Sorry to disappoint. Playtime is over."MK launched himself, staff poised and ready--"Kid, no!"--The princess, using an iron gauntlet, caught the staff and grinned.MK was suddenly sent flying, seemingly to his death."MK, NO!!"--Pigsy stared down at his hands, "He can't be gone. He can't." Sandy looked down somberly, "There's nothing we can do, old friend. I'm sorry." Pigsy scowled, "Nothing? Nothing?! I could have done something. I could have...I should have protected MK." Tang suddenly had a determined expression, "It's not over. We can't help MK. But we can make sure no more lives are lost. Make sure his sacrifice wasn't in vain.""Someone has to fight.""Mei?" The dragon girl wiped her eyes and grinned maliciously, "The Bull King is going to pay." Sandy hugged them all, "Then what are we waiting for? Let's go stop some bad guys!"--Princess Iron Fan waltzed in with the staff in her son's metal gauntlet, grinning proudly. She showed it to her husband, presenting the powerful artifact. He grinned and the staff levitated over to the hole in his armor, as the armor absorbs the staff, he became a lot more powerful.--MK sat up in a panic, monkeys hanging off of him. He jolted them away, "Ah! No! Wait! Don't! Ahhh!" He stood up, backing away and taking in his surroundings, "...Woah! Flower Fruit Mountain." He faced a trail and ran through it, dodging branches."MONKEY KIIIING! MONKEY KIIIING!!" His vision suddenly glowed golden, startling him, "Wha- Monkey King!" A golden silhouette of the raggedy monkey ran ahead of him, running into a cave.MK ran ahead and perched on a cloud sat the dangerous Monkey King."Hey, bud! Didn't hear ya coming, what up?" MK huffed, "Demon Bull King, that's who! He's got the staff!" The monkey's expression darkened drastically, "What."MK swallowed thickly, was Monkey King mad at him?'Please Buddha don't let me die.'"Settle down, Wukong. You're scaring him." A husky yet serene voice drifted out. Monkey King perked up, suddenly relaxing his expression, "Oops. Sorry, kid. I'm mad at the damn moron who broke our agreement! And had my successor launched across the lava islands! AND STOLE MY STAFF!!" A black-furred monkey appeared from the fuming monkey's shadow, chuckling.MK was surprised at the grand difference between the aggressive monkey and the composed, well-dressed figure. He immediately recognized Macaque from his six ears and scarred eyes."Well, let the kid retrieve it." MK bristled, "Me?" Monkey King beamed, "Yeah, you're perfect! Tough, sweet, honest..." The king gently placed a hand on MK's shoulder and smiled softly, "You can do it. I'll take you there, but you have to win this fight. I believe in you. SO BEAT HIS ASS!!"MK inhaled slowly before nodding at the two, "Okay. Let's do this."--The Bull King grinned as he wreaked havoc, sending debris crashing and flying.A noodle truck swerved around, "AAHHHHH!!"Bull clones suddenly appeared, targeting them, "Oh, no. Their secret weapon; barrels!" Tang gasped dramatically. Red Son then appeared, grinning."So you wanna be heroes, huh? Let me show you what happens to heroes!" The group recognized him from the news feed, knowing exactly who he was. Pigsy grumbled loudly, "I've had it up to here what these demon punk-" Mei suddenly stopped him, her aura growing in power." I'll handle this one." She took a step forward-"TIMBERRRRR!!" A flash of rusty orange fur sent the fire demon flying, while a black figure dressed in purple, gold, and white landed neatly with a familiar man in his grasp."MK!! Oh my goodness! We saw you blast into the fire. I thought you were all like 'phew, ahhh' but you're not--" She hugged him tightly while Tang poked the unconscious fire child, "Well that's one way to stop him. Wait! Monkey King, did you find him?" MK nodded, "Yeah, and a friend."Monkey King settled down his unhinged giggles as Tang gasped, "Monkey King and The Six-Eared Macaque--" Monkey King stretched lazily, "Welp, now you're here. Sooooo, do your thing!" MK breathed in deeply, and once again his vision flooded with gold, "Woah."Wukong smiled proudly, "Gold vision. Use it, you guys help MK get close, Macaque, and I will keep these idiots off your trail!" Macaque smirked mischievously, portalling away using shadows."You heard him, let's move move move!"--The Demon Bull King stared down at the heroes heading towards him, "So the little thief returns..." The group rushed forward, each one taking turns pushing MK to the demon's armor, and he jumped straight in without hesitation as a clawed hand tried to snatch him.A powerful light rang out, and the Bull King cackled, "YES NOW NOTHING CAN STOP ME NOW!!" He then felt a push, a stir of energy within him. "What- What is this-!"A stone egg broke out, rocking gently on the ground before releasing MK.DBK blasted at the floating figure, and MK simply laughed, zooming everywhere, "Missed me! Nope! Over here!" Monkey King stood over the destroyed machines in amazement, never taking his eyes off his successor, "He's amazing!"Macaque shadowed over, "I know.""I can feel it. Reminds me of you.""You thought you could stand against me. I am the Demon Bull King I will not let a little thief take victory from my grasp!" DBK used his hand to hold MK's force back, growling at him. MK looked over and spotted his all-time favorite game. Monkey Mech.Oh, yeah. The demon took this as an opportunity to taunt the young man, "You might have that old fool's staff, but you are not the Monkey King." MK smiled, refusing to back down, "Your right. I'm the Monkie Kid!" A giant mech formed, incasing MK."Im...possible..." The group and the monkies cheered, causing something to stir inside of MK."Nothing is impossible if you just believe in yourself. Make no mistake, you just got MKO'd!" A power surge sent the Demon King crashing down, creating a huge crater. Red Son staggered over, "You think this is over? It isn't over, bozo. Why don't you just get out of that dorky mech and fight me, you coward!" His speech was slurred, and he ended up falling into the ditch.Majestically. Wind circled around the fallen villains, "We know when we've been bested. But this won't be the last you see of us, Noodle Boy." She laughed manically before disappearing with her family. Monkey King huffed angrily and whined, "What? No! No fair! Come on, you can't just run away when he's right about to win! YOU SORE LOSERS!! WHY I OUTTA KILL THEM MYSELF-" Macaque patted his shoulder and sighed, "Not your enemies to beat, Wukong."Mei popped up and grinned, "MK! You totally kick DBK's butt. Without us, the city'd be toast!" MK chuckled nervously, "It was a team effort. Thanks, guys..." Pigsy wrapped an arm around his son proudly, "You did good, kid. You did real good." Tang cleared his throat awkwardly, "Uh, what now?" Wukong smirked, placing a fist in his hand, "Isn't it obvious?" Mei smirked, too, and also placed a fist in her hand, "Bust up more bad guys!" Matching auras surrounded the two as they chuckled menacingly.Tang nervously smiled, "Or we could go eat some noodles?" Mei and MK cheered, "Noodles! Noodles! Noodles!" Monkey King and Macaque smiled warmly before swiftly disappearing into the shadows."Hey, Monk- Oh, he left." Mei patted her best friend, "You'll see him and Macaque around. But for now, NOODLES!!" MK grinned, heading out to celebrate with his friends....(Did I just rewrite a whole movie knowing full well I'll only get around 10 views?? Yes. Yes I did.)https://www.tiktok.com/@.notsosweet/video/7146677320009485614?is_from_webapp=1&sender_device=pc&web_id=7120593576194950698

----- CHAPTER BREAK -----

The woman on the TV cleared her throat, "And in breaking news, it's been confirmed that last week's devastation was caused by the legendary Demon Bull King. Questions still remain about the small overpowered young man who saved us all. Authorities warn citizens on..."The volume was lowered and MK's voice was clear as he retold what had happened... well, kinda."And I was like, 'Stop there, Demon Bull King.' And D.B.K.'s all like, 'You can't stop me! I'm crazy!' And then I grabbed my staff and woosh! I created this giant mech!" He swiped around his staff, accidentally bringing it down and puncturing Sandy's boat. Mei snickered, "Uh oh, looks like you sprung a leak, MK." MK grimaced, "Oh, jeez." Pigsy took this as an opportunity to step in, "I've just pulled a quadruple shift at the shop. And I show up to see you've all been slacking off all day!" Tang chuckled and patted Pigsy, "Oh, Pigsy, relax. A little time off never hurt anyone." MK stood straight up and mimicked his dad's tone, "Yeah! A time off never hurt nobody."Above them, a crate was loosening from its hook.Sandy yelled out, "GUYS LOOK OUT!" The crate crashed down, but MK stood frozen, watching it fall--"KID!" The crate landed on MK, crushing him. Until the powerful boy emerged from the crate and yelled, "I. AM. INVINCIBLE." Mei grinned, "HECK YEAH!" Pigsy sighed, irritated and relieved, "Look, MK, just 'cause you got the Monkey King's powers and all, It don't mean-" "MK! How about...this?" She then used a rocket launcher, blowing up her best friend. Sandy, Tang, and Pigsy all panicked until the smoke cleared and MK posed, "I am invincible!" Pigsy groaned, running a hand down his face, "Look, kiddo, you're a superhero now. You're going to need-" "A cape! Maybe a logo, or a headquarters! Some vehicles, you know, all the stuff to help you beat bad guys!" Mei hopped around excitedly, so much to do!Pigsy huffed, "No, what I was getting at-" Mei jumped in again, opening elevator doors, "To the Sea-crate Base!" The team followed her, squeezing themselves into the small space. Once they reached the bottom, the doors opened up, spilling them out except for Mei."Welcome...to our new team base!" Everyone looked around in pure awe, how much stuff was in here?! MK sputtered, "Mei, when did you make this?" Pigsy stared in shock, "How did you make this?" Tang glanced at Sandy, "Say, Sandy, weren't you building a secret base  for MK, too?" Embarrassed, Sandy denied, "Uh...no." --The Demon Bull King seethed angrily, "400 years in a mountain crevice, now THIS?!  I had the staff in my grasp. I should have crushed the thief when I had the chance!" His wife smiled at him, a gleam in her eye, "Oh, my love. Don't be so dramatic. We've nothing but time. You will bring the world to its knees."Red Son stepped up, "And sooner than you think, Father. Allow me to secure the power you desire." The Bull King stared him down, "Get it done." Red Son turned around, "I won't fail you again." He couldn't fail again.--Red Son walked into the Weather Tower, followed by Bull Clones. The man handling the controls greeted him, "Uh yeah, hey kid, I'd like to help you and your friends, but I'm pretty busy." The temperamental boy only growled in response, how dare this peasant speak to him in such a way! With a small wave of his hand, the man was dragged away, kicking and screaming. All across the city, screens lit up to show the firey prince, "Citizens. It is I, Red Son. I have taken control of the Weather Station and will harness the very power of nature to return my father to his former glory. This message is more of a courtesy really." He pulled a lever while smirking, knowing exactly what he was doing. The sky suddenly darkened, and snow fell down in waves."When I'm finished, my father will once more dominate the world! And then- Oh look! A lightning button."  MK and Mei grinned at the screen, "Oh, yeah!"Pigsy made a noise of disbelief, "What do you mean 'Oh yeah'? This ain't an 'oh yeah' moment!" MK waved him off, "Chill out, Dadsy. I'm invincible, remember? If he wants to tussle with the champ, then I say bring it!"Mei nodded, "Yeah! 'Cause he's a superhero, yo! The Red Baby is gonna get M.K.O'd!" Pigsy frowned, "Uh, you got a lot to learn, kid. Don't just dive head first into the danger- Wait, what did I just say!"MK ran off, ignoring the snowflakes swirling around him.--MK pointed a finger at the control panel seat, "Not so fast, Red Son!" His friends stood behind him, spread apart and ready for action. The chair swiveled around, revealing the young villain, "Noodle Boy! I thought I smelt some garbage! Turns out I was right."He laughed loudly at his own joke, and MK bristled, "You're laughing now, but...I'm invincible! So yeah, you're basically toast. Prepare to get M.K.O'd!" He extended the staff and swung--"Yeah, MK! You show him who's bo-"--And promptly wacked Mei in the face."Geez kid, watch what'cha doing!" Pigsy yelped, narrowly avoiding getting hit, too. MK grimaced, "SORRY, MEI!" Sandy was next to get hit, "Oh, my chakra!" Tang grimaced, "Oh, no! You've killed him!" Mei giggled, "Eh, he's a big guy. He'll be fine." Red Son frowned, disappointed, "You dorks done beating each other up yet?" MK huffed, "Yes, and you're next on my list!"He extended his staff----And launched himself out of the Weather Tower.Red Son cackled, "I guess the garbage takes itself out now!"--Wukong stopped mid-bite of his peach, suddenly going stiff. Something was stirring in him, off-putting and urgent.Macaque's top left ear twitched, "Kid needs you." Wukong finished the bite, "Thought so. Felt it in my mind, y'know?" He swallowed the chunk of fruit and summoned his cloud.Macaque hummed, "Of course you do, he has your powers. Don't be too long!" Wukong flew off, "I WON'T!" --Mk sat up in the giant crater and groaned, snow coating his hair and clothes."Woah what happened to you?" MK looked up at Monkey King, perched on the balls of his feet while on his cloud, hovering above the snow."Monkey King! Great! Now that you're here, we can go fly up there and smash that-" Monkey King waved him off, "Nope nope nope- Mac says you have to fight your battles. I can't baby you! Besides, if you just kill them you won't have to deal with 'em anymore!" MK frowned, "I don't kill. Besides! I got launched out of the Weather Tower and-" Slitted eyes snapped into view, "You. Were. What. THAT'S IT! If you won't kill 'em I WILL-" The agitated monkey hopped off the cloud, hopping from foot to foot on the snow while reaching for his staff.MK yelped, "NO NO NO! IT WAS ME WHO LAUNCHED MYSELF! I can't handle all this power-!" Monkey King paused, and Mk breathed out, "Something's wrong." The feral monkey was suddenly on MK, rummaging his hair and ignoring MK's shocked yelps, "What are you-"The shivering monkey suddenly gasped, peering down at the boy's scalp, "Oh yeah, you're right. Oh, this is bad. Something's really wrong."MK freaked out, jumping and rolling around with the monkey still on top of him, "What is it? What's wrong?" Wukong plucked out a bug and huffed, "The stupid cold. Oh, and you." He popped the bug into his mouth while MK huffed, "What?" Wukong hopped off, landing swiftly on his feet, "In order to have full control of your powers, you need self-confidence." MK stood up straight and posed, "I got self-confidence." Wukong snorted, "Nah, you're just some loud human." MK deflated."Besides, you just need to-" "Fake it till you make it?" MK offered. Monkey King grit his teeth and snarled, "NO! Practice, and training! Nothing worthwhile is easy in the long run! Gosh, it took me centuries of training and fighting and just beating up and killing demons! UGH!"Wukong stomped in the snow, throwing a mini tantrum. MK looked back towards the tower, "But what about my friends, the city? They're all counting on me."Monkey King hummed, "Hm, well I could limit your powers. Buuuut you won't be invincible anymore. Not until you gain back that power." MK breathed in deeply, "Okay, let's do it, then." Monkey King nodded, "Alright, then." He held up his calloused hands, letting them glow brightly before summoning a symbol and slamming it into his successor, causingMK fell over, "Okay...that felt weird..."Monkey King shrugged, "Well, if you just kill them-""No."--"Oh, Red Son~!" The young hero dropped in, spotting his restrained friends. "Let's settle this for real. I won't let you get away with this."Red Son snickered, "You're back to beat yourself up some more?" MK bristled, "Hey. I'll have you know I can control my powers now. The only downside is I'm not invincible anymore so I could die." Pigsy gasped, "WHAT?!" MK cleared his throat awkwardly, "Forgot I said that I got this. Here comes Monkie Kid!"Red Son suddenly stands before smirking, his eyes flickering as he zooms towards MK, sparking. "I totally don't got this!" MK barely dodged a firey fist and looks up in time and spots a ton of Bull Clones."How am I supposed to fight all of them?" His vision suddenly lights up with a golden hue, and he grins, "Gold Vision!" He looked around and spotted a certain button, "That's it!"MK launched himself, followed by Red Son and the Bull Clones, "Not so tough without all your Monkey King powers, are you?" MK suddenly let go, landing a bit roughly while the staff continued skyward, sending the villains into the sky.MK smirked mockingly, "Oh, look! A lighting button." Slapping his hand down, he giggled as lighting struck his staff, bringing everyone down. Red Son, now fried, huffed angrily, "You may have won this round but... you're still garbage!" In a flurry of fire, he disappeared. MK flipped a switch, "Let's get this place back to normal." Slowly, the snow dissipated.Mei cheered, "MK!" And slammed into him, causing him to fall over roughly, "Ow...""Aw, you really did limit your power..." MK quickly jumped in, "Yeah. Just till I learn to control them better." Pigsy raised a brow at him, "And how are ya gonna do that?" MK twirled his staff, "Practice, practice, pra- OW!" He hit himself, prompting everyone to laugh loudly.--DBK stomped angrily, "The little thief has stolen from me again! I will not be undone by an insect!" A sudden blue glow caught his attention, and a cold whisper filled the air.

"You must do what I say..."

Feeling the sheer amount of power, the Bull King smirked, "Now that is power..."

"Power..."

--Wukong perched up, head tilted. He felt something familiar. His dark-furred companion looked over, "Wukong?" Monkey King snarled, "Something big's going on.

And I don't like it one bit."

----- CHAPTER BREAK -----

(In this au, because of Macaque's guidance, Monkey King is actually more involved in MK's life which is why he pops up more often than in the original)
Pigsy rang the bell, signaling MK, "Order up, get to it!" MK ran over, snatching the food and saluting, "Got it!" The young man slipped on his headphones and bobbed to the beat while driving. Wasting only a few minutes, he quickly delivered the noodles and headed back, chanting away, "Pigsy's noodles. Pigsy's noodles. Pigsy's noodles."He drove near Sandy's boat, and the friendly giant waved him over, "MK! Just in time, I'm gonna give the old girl a fresh coat of paint!" MK picked up a brush and grinned, "What color?" Teal and orange accents shined, making the boat gleam in her full glory. "Thanks, MK!" MK waved goodbye, going on about his day, rushing about the city.--MK sighed, drying off his hair and fur, "Ahh~ Now for some uninterrupted 8-12 hours of sleep- ACK!" Mei grinned, happily exclaiming, "Get up, get up, get up! We are going out!" MK barely had time to change before his best friend dragged him out, heading straight for the anti-gravity arcade. Okay, MK knew he should get some sleep. But...how could he say no to fun time with Mei?--The week was the same-Deliver noodles, paint Sandy's boat, party with Mei, repeat!MK was exhausted, and it didn't help that he was supposed to start training with Monkey King soon.MK sighed, collapsing into his bowl of noodles. Tang sighed, "MK, you can't burn yourself out like this! You need rest, you're a growing boy!" MK slouched out of the bowl, "I know, Dad. But it's just... I don't wanna let Dadsy, Sandy, or M-M-M-- Mei! Mei!-- down, y'know? But I'm just one guy!" Tang hummed, "Too bad you can't just duplicate yourself."MK sat up, "Huh?" "Yeah, just like Monkey King. Look, "The scholar pulled out his book and opened it to a chapter, "He would take a strand of hair, blow on it, and boom!" MK snatched a loose strand and blew on it, watching it drift to the ground. "I don't think it worked-"A cloud of gold erupted, revealing a second MK. Tang watched the two MKs interact, and his son grinned, "Thanks, Dad!" Tang watched his son as he left, leaving the clone behind to do deliveries. "If I wasn't so composed and cool all the time, I'd be worried." --As the days went by, MK made clones for just about anything! Sandy needed a painter? Clone!Pigsy needed a delivery delivered? Clone!Partying with Mei? Clone!Just what he needed to rest. Great...if it was just those clones. He used them for every chore, for every need, and just because he could. He made so many, a chunk of his hair was missing. And...MK kinda knew he was overdoing it.When he met Wukong for training, the living legend frowned, "...why is a chunk of your hair missing..?" MK shrugged nervously, "Uh, clones?" Wukong's eyes widened, "MK, tell me you poofed them away!" MK rose a brow, "What?" Monkey King rolled around on the ground, groaning loudly, "They gain a form of sentience if they're out for too long! And if out long enough, they end up 'evil'!" MK facepalmed, "Of course they do." --Pigsy finished up a bowl and grinned, "Order up!" Lately, MK had been working his butt off, and it made him very proud. The phone rang and Pigsy happily picked it up, "Pigsy's Noodles, how can I--""He didn't what." "MK WHY IS THERE A CUSTOMER SAYING THEY DIDN'T GET THEIR NOO-- ACK!" A giant, rounded MK stared him down, "What d'ya mean?" --Another MK was obsessively painting, covered in paint with a crazed look, "It needs...to be...PERFECT." His tail flicked paint, splattering the ship. Sandy nervously watched, confused.'MK' then stepped aside, revealing a beautiful painting of many MKs. Weirdo.Sandy stared in pure bewilderment, "Uh...I think it looks pretty good-" 'MK' turned around sharply, looking absolutely unhinged, "Pretty good. PRETTY GOOD. THAT IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH! You wanted me to paint your boat, and that's WHAT I'M GOING TO DO!"Sandy cowarded away, Mo in his giant hands and he looked up at his friend, concerned. 'MK' cackled in his insanity, yelling, "I WON'T STOP UNTIL IT'S PERFECT!" --The Anti-gravity Arcade was booming music, full of exhausted party-goers. Mei floated over, "Hey, uhm, I'm getting kinda sleepy...Wanna hit it?" Mei yawned loudly, people loosely dancing behind her.'MK' snorted, "Psh, what are you talking about, Mei?" He smirked, revealing sharper teeth than usually seen on MK, "Ain't nobody leaving dis porty!" With a flick of his hand, the volume increased, sending Mei upward. "Yeah, but this 'porty' has been going on for 15 hours--" "Aw, it's been going on for 15 hours, oh no-" He mocked her, gesturing around, "That's what you sound like." A tone of annoyance twinged his voice and he snapped, summoning two giant bodyguards."I said...ain't nobody. Leaving. Dis porty." --Pigsy meanwhile, was wrestling 'MK' who was chugging down yet another bowl. "MK, stop eating!" Tang turned away, and spotted MK outside the window just as he sprinted inside with Wukong following close behind, "DADSY WAIT!" Pigsy stopped struggling, staring in disbelief, "MK..?" He turned to his other son, "MK..?" His eye twitched, "Lemme guess. This is some sort of 'mystic monkey' business." MK groaned, "Monkey King already scolded me, not you, too!" Monkey King huffed, "Well, at least this one's just obsessed with food."He turned to Tang, "Dad, how did Monkey King 'poof' his clones..? I kinda forgot to ask." Tang set his glasses, shielding his eyes, "I...don't know." Pigsy groaned loudly, "Oh, C'MON!" Monkey King tapped his student, startling everyone, "Kid, I am literally right here. Just hit him with some power." The gruff monkey leaned back to watch, silent as ever. MK breathed in deeply, holding out his hands, "Here goes nothing." He pressed the strange symbol into his clone, and a giant poof of hair exploded. "Oh- oh, ewwww..." MK suddenly perked up, "Sandy! Sorry, gotta go!" He grabbed Monkey King's arm, startling the rusty-furred monkey. As he rushed out, Tang choked and coughed out a hairball."That's what freeloaders like you get."--MK rushed on board, spotting poor Sandy tied and hanging on a hook. "Hi, MK. 'Mystic monkey' business?" MK nodded sheepishly, "Yeah." Deranged cackling echoed throughout the paint-splattered boat. Monkey King scrunched his nose, "Uh, Kid? I think this one's crazier than the last one." MK gulped as a hissy voice caught their attention. "Yes, yes. I can feeeeel the paint seeeeeping into my poressss." MK peeked over at his unhinged clone and grimaced, "Oof. Here I go." "You missed a spot!" Artist immediately sat up, "WHERE?" A golden glow emitted from behind him before he exploded into hair. MK sighed, "Lemme help ya down, Sandy." He used his monkey features to climb up effortlessly and lowered Sandy down, "There ya go- MEI!" Monkey King groaned, running after MK, "HOW MANY DID YOU MAKE DAMN!!" --MK swung open the doors, staff in hand, "Alright where is she!" Porty looked up and gave his original a sharp grin, "Oh ho ho! OG MK in the house, y'all!" MK groaned, "I don't know slang- Just tell me where Mei is!" Porty pouted, "Boomer." Monkey King's fur bristled. The clone's mood completely changed, however, as he started chuckling. Two giant doors opened up, revealing a giant grabbing machine with an exhausted Mei inside. "Hey, MK. 'Mystic monkey' business? You're really bad at making clones by the way... Hi, Monkey King!"MK stared in shock before twirling his staff, "Hand her over!" Porty only shrugged, "Cool your jets, OG. If ya wanna get to me, ya gotta get through my boys!" MK suddenly started floating, and as he looked around hundreds of evil MKs smirked down at him. Monkey King hunched down on all fours, staring up at the evil MKs. "Why did you make so many MKs, MK?!" Porty slid over to a button, "Oops, my finger slipped." With the press of a button, a giant laser started charging up below Mei. Mei screamed, "Mei!" Porty cackled, "Get 'im, boys!" MK yelped, extending his staff and rushing around the room as Monkey King attacked many more clones bent on destroying them. Mei screamed out as the laser began charging up, "MK!!" Without any hesitation, the powerful boy struck the glass with his staff, summoning a huge symbol. The glass shattered, and a giant golden explosion rang out.Porty stuttered, "Wait- w-wait! How do you know I'm not the real MK? There's two of us in this porty-- Oops." He turned around, "Shoot, I played myself." MK just tapped him with the symbol, more disappointed than anything, really. Now covered in hair, MK sighed, "Ew. Sorry about that, Mei." The dragon girl stood up, wearing a fake beard, "It's no problem at all, me boy." MK laughed, "Ew, don't stroke it!" Monkey King simply gagged as the girl threw hair up into the air. --"So Pigsy gave you the night off, huh?" MK dried his fur and nodded, "Yeah. After I cleaned up all the hair, that is." MK plopped down and suddenly grinned, "Woah! 'Monkey King the Animated Series' is on!" Mei suddenly glared, a green aura surrounding her. MK looked over and stared in blank shock at the clone who turned up the tv volume."Get back here!" "Get him, MK!" "AAAAHHH-" A monkey watched from outside, snickering, before hopping away.

----- CHAPTER BREAK -----

"Button mash all you want, MK. You'll never beat my Ancient Galloping Fury Power!"Mei knew she was beating MK again in Monkey Mech and grinned in victory. MK sweated profusely, she was so close to winning! "Up smash, up smash!"MK groaned, "I'm trying, Sandy!" Mei laughed, "No one can defeat me!" Monkey King leaned over MK's shoulder, "You better win! Or I'm eating this witchcraft!" MK button smashed more frantically.Mei's phone suddenly rang, alerting her, "Hold on, guys. I gotta take this." She walked away, answering her phone, "Hey, Mom."MK snickered before smashing buttons, beating up Mei's avatar. Monkey King smirked and cackled, "Yessss... KILL THE NONEXISTENT COMPETITOR!" Sandy stared at them blankly and sighed."Of course. Yes, Mother." Mei turned around swiftly and sighed lowly. Sandy looked over with concern, "You okay, Mei?" Mei smiled weakly, "Yeah. It's just..." MK stood up, cheering with his mentor as he finished off Mei's avatar. "My parents want me to house-sit."Sandy quirked a brow, "And that's bad?" He looked down at her, examining her body language. The dragon girl shook her head, "No- My parents and I don't really-" MK popped up, "Uh, did Mei just say sleepover at her house?" Monkey King watched blankly, "A what."Mei stiffened, "What? No. My parents wouldn't-" MK started bouncing around, "Sleepover! I've always wanted to see inside Mei's secret Dragon House full of secret dragon stuff. Come on, please? Please, please, please, please, please? Monkey King doesn't even know what a sleepover is!" Mei stared at her best friend and slumped, "Okay."MK cheered, "Ah yeah. This sleepover is going to be amazing. You know what? I'll bring my Monkey King DVDs so we can have a marathon." Monkey King gasped, "Stuff about me? Wait what the fuck is a movie--""Dragon House, full of secret dragon stuff!"A bull clone watched from afar, invisible to the heroes.--Princess Iron Fan watched closely, smiling widely, "The legendary Dragon Blade, that blade is amongst the most powerful artifacts in history." The beautiful woman swiftly turned towards the bull clone and beckoned him away, "Go, bring it to me."The bull clone nodded sternly.--MK stared wide-eyed at everything, taking in every detail of the elegant place, "It's even better than I thought. Growing up here must have been great." Monkey King shuffled in place, "I dunno, seems a bit too uptight."Mei grimaced, agreeing silently with the monkey, "When I was growing up, I just wanted to be rough and tumble. Break stuff. Look at bugs..." She shuffled her foot, staring down along the walls stretching across the land."You know, have fun just like normal girl stuff. But when your house is pretty much a museum and you come from a long line of ancient, noble dragons, that's kind of frowned on. Anyway. Onwards to the definitely-not-going-to-be-terrible sleepover." Mei slapped on a fake smile, squeezing her nerves together and dragging MK and Wukong along, Sandy close behind. As soon as they got in front of the doors, a ridiculous amount of weapons started charging up, pointed towards the 'intruders'. MK and Sandy panicked while Wukong grinned, "Hit me with what ya got, fancy house!" MK stared at Monkey King, "Dude, no."Mei hurriedly dialed the passcode, sighing with relief once the weapons stored themselves away. MK gulped, "Well that wasn't overkill or anything." Mei simply shoved him inside.Sandy gasped, "Whoa. What is all this stuff?" The room was filled to the brim with ancient dragon artifacts and relics of Mei's family history."Ah, you know. Gifts, artifacts, offerings. Just stuff that's been in my family for -- guys. Wait!" MK and Sandy walked around, picking up and touching anything and everything they saw, aweing loudly about how fantastic and beautiful everything was.Monkey King simply huffed, "Stupid Bai Long Ma, of course, he kept all the boring- OH WHAT'S THAT?!" He immediately joined his successor and Sandy, snatching up a huge sword.Mei's eye twitched and her aura exploded, "Guys, stop!" MK, Wukong, and Sandy immediately froze, terrified for their lives. Mei huffed, "You guys are menaces." Wukong smirked, "I try my best."Mei slapped him a solid one.--Mei waved her arm broadly and exasperated, "This is the garage filled with all the awesome things I am not allowed to drive. This is one of our many long hallways." She huffed before leading her friends and Monkey King outside, "We also have the Celestial Jade Garden."She dragged them along, giving quick comments, "The room with the 30 centuries of antiques.""Pool of a Thousand Tears.""Tea and snack room, and my bedroom."She then gestured at a pedestal with a jade blade perched on it, "And this is the Dragon Claw Chamber." MK gasped dramatically, "Whoa, whoa, whoa. Hold up." He gestured widely at the ancient weapon, "Now this thing is cool. So what's the dealio with this deal, yo?"Mei ignored his fangirling, "That's the sword of my great-great-great times a thousand great-grandfather, the Dragon of The West. Legends say that my grandfather imbued it with unimaginable power so that our clan would always have the strength of the dragon to protect them."She spaced out a bit, staring longingly at it, "Its true power will only show itself to those deemed worthy. A true member of our clan who's proven themselves strong enough to protect our family from the forces of evil..."Mei loved her family. Truly. But why was it so hard to find her place among them? The dragon girl snapped out of her daze and finished, "But I'm not allowed to touch it. Hey, anyone want to see the game room?" MK and Sandy cheered, "Yeah!" Wukong pretended to understand whatever they just said and cheered. Mei snorted, "Alright."MK bounced around the room, staring into every pinball machine, "A pinball machine? I've always wanted to try one of these!" Mei grinned, "Yeah, now this place is home. All right. You guys boot up the old TV. I will go get some s-n-n-n-nacks! Okay, don't break anything while I'm gone!"Monkey King poked a pinball machine, "What the fuck's a TV?" Sandy frowned at his choice of words while MK huffed, feeling a bit betrayed by her warning while playing with a fancy pinball machine, "Ha. Don't break anything while I'm gone. Yeah, right."The machine plunger suddenly snapped off.Wukong started to cackle manically and Sandy grimaced."...Do you think she'll notice..?"--Mei rushed back, arms full of stuff, "Party, board games, snacks! Bull clone--"Mei paused, staring up at the Bull Clone struggling with the blade on the pedestal. The robot and the girl stared for a few more minutes before Mei sputtered, "Hey!"The Bull Clone took this as its cue to GO GO GO--"NO, YOU GET BACK HERE!"--MK finished placing one last piece of tape, "There, all better!" He grinned nervously. The machine suddenly shattered like glass, crumbling down.MK facepalmed, "HOW?! WHY?!" Sandy grimaced, "We're gonna need more tape."Wukong simply kept gremlin-laughing.--Mei revved her bike aggressively, chasing after the thief, "COME BACK HERE, COWARD!"The impulsive girl rammed right into the robot, sending them flying. Mei barely ducked in time just as the blade lodged itself above her head.Mei stared up in awe, the mighty weapon was just above her.Grabbing it, she stared at the design on the blade, "The Dragon Blade..." She breathed out in awe. The power felt like a part of her like a puzzle piece gladly fitting into her own magic. Why hadn't she grabbed it before? She was suddenly surrounded by her ancestors, all glaring down at her."Weakest link of them all...""You call yourself a girl?""How could you be related to this family?""This is ridiculous!""Her parents must be so ashamed..."Mei glared up at the spirits, angry, "You know what? I am part of this family. I am Mei. Descendant of the great Dragon of the West Sea. This is mine, and this is my house." Power surged in her veins, familiar yet vague in her mind. She stared down at the Bull Clone, her dragon traits made themselves known as she angrily gestured at the doors, "Get out. Of. My. HOUSE!" In the blink of an eye, the clone was blasted out of the huge estate.--Sandy poked the machine tenderly, "Maybe it needs more tape?"MK sulked, "No, no...it's done for. I have to own up and tell Mei." Sandy smiled softly, "Did Monkey King teach you that?" Wukong and MK snorted, "Nah..."Monkey King leaned back, scratching a tear on his right ear, "I would've suggested killing the witnesses and... yeah that's it. Just kill the witnesses."Sandy choked, "What." The giant scooted away from the volatile diety and MK waved him off and walked out, "Mei? Hey, Mei, I gotta tell you- Woah what happened to your house?" Mei grinned, "MK! Someone tried to steal from my house. I stopped them with this, the Dragon Sword!"MK grinned, "SO COOL! Uh-" He faltered, "Mei, I'm really glad you stopped them, but I have a confession to make. I accidentally --""Ahem."Mei gawked, "Mom, Dad. You're back." Mrs. Dragon huffed, "We were on our way when we realized somebody forgot our luggage."MK peeked over at Sandy, observing his well-hidden shock, "Um, Sandy, were you kind of expecting Mei's parents to be literally two, big, scary dragons?" Sandy glanced away, embarrassed, "Uh, no." Wukong looked up at him blankly, "I did."Mei grimaced, "I can explain. Someone tried to steal the sword. I didn't let them. And I used this. I'm sorry." She bowed her head. This was it.They were going to prove her ancestor's words right--"We saw the whole thing." Mei looked up slowly, "What?""And we're so proud of you!" Mei's eyes widened, she didn't know whether to check if they had a fever or cheer. Her father continued, "The Dragon Blade is the pride of our family heritage. Its power only shows itself to those that embrace their history. Their family." Mrs.Dragon smiled softly, "We may not always see eye-to-eye, and your friends are more unique than we expected, but you are a part of this family. And it is part of you. We love you."Mei smiled softly, "I love you too, Mom. Dad. I am sorry about the house, though." Her father laughed, "What's important is that you are okay. Objects can be replaced."MK perked up in the background, happy to see his best friend with her family. With her parents..."Everything except my prized pinball machine. That is irreplaceable."MK grimaced, "Ooooh..."Monkey King's cackling echoed out.

----- CHAPTER BREAK -----

Pigsy grinned down at a carrot, showing it off to his husband, "Ho ho! Now, this is a beautiful carrot! Couple more finds like this baby and we're golden!" Tang rolled his eyes, "Looks the same as the last 20,000 carrots we've looked at." Pigsy waved him off, "I wouldn't expect you to appreciate a fine carrot like this. You ain't no culinary genius, "He let out a laugh, "like me!" An enchanting voice suddenly rang out, "My, my, my! You boys are making quite a scene. Looking to buy some ingredients? Something tasty? You've come to the right place." The woman blew a kiss, and Tang stiffened, "Oh. C'mon, Pigsy we're leaving- Pigsy?" Pigsy leaned against the stall and nervously smiled, "Y-you are selling beautiful vegetables today?" Tang stared at the shriveled produce and stared at his husband with a deadpanned expression, "Are you blind..?" Pigsy ignored him, instead, he asked more questions, "Any spices for sale?" The woman smirked, "That's right, sugar, this is the finest store in the whole market. I've got spices from around the world~! Why don't come around back and look at my exclusive choices?" She disappeared into her tent, sauntering into the shadows.Tang frowned, "Pigsy, I'm not sure--" Pigsy cut him off, "Oh, c'mon, Tang! She's gorgeous and has a wide variety of spices!" Tang rolled his eyes but followed anyway. They were suddenly falling.--Mei quirked a brow, "So why is Monkey King here?" Monkey King pouted, "Macaque says I need to make friends or something and keeps saying, 'No, Wukong, I don't count'. And then he kicked me out." Mei snorted, "Isn't he friendless, too?" Wukong huffed, "No. That's why I can't argue with him about it." Sandy suddenly piped up, "Hey, you think it's weird that we don't spend much time in the Sea-Crate Base? Like, we haven't been down here for weeks." Mei hummed, "And it took me a lot of work making this place..." Wukong cackled, perched spiderman-style on the couch, "Imagine not using your hero base." Mei promptly shoved him over, but before Wukong could flick her into space, MK ran in, "GUYS, DADSY'S MISSING!" Mei scooted toward her best friend, "Missing? What do you mean he's missing?" MK waved his hands around frantically, "The noodle shop was closed!" Sandy startled, "But he's never closed before!" Wukong sat up on the floor, "So he's been pig-napped?" Sandy yelped, "I immediately fear the worst!" Wukong dusted off his musty pants and stood up, "Wait, then doesn't that mean Tang's also missing..?" Yeahhhh that made MK and Sandy panic even more.Mei hopped into her seat and pulled up camera feed, pulling up Pigsy and Tang. Everyone crowded around, and Wukong stared in pure shock, "Wow what the fuck." Sandy commented, "Who's filming this?" Mei grinned, "I attached cameras to all of you guys a while back. Not so creepy now, is it?" Wukong stared intensely at her then turned to MK, "If the dragon girl is spying on me, I'm going to send her across the ocean." MK sighed, "Please don't, Monkey King."A woman appeared on the screen interacting with Pigsy and Tang, Sandy hummed, "Aw, she seems nice. Maybe they're fine." Mo and Wukong stared at each other, unimpressed by the friendly giant's optimism. Pigsy and Tang fell through a trap door."I was wrong, it all went wrong." MK gulped, "Scary nightmare hole! What happened?" Mei zoomed into the image, and soon a woman in a spider mech appeared. Wukong snarled lowly while MK paled, "Spider demon... of course..." Sandy nodded, "Okay, a Spider Demon's got our friends. You know what that means?" Wukong jumped up, "MURDER!!" MK swatted him, "NO!! A rescue mission! Murder bad, gosh!" Wukong pouted, "Fine." --Tang groaned, "You just had to go in there." Pigsy glared at Tang, "She said she had spices!" Tang shook his head, "We both know that's not the whole reason." A stranger's voice rang out, "You tell him. No one likes a know-it-all." A second voice snorted, "Know-it-all? You're the know-it-all!" The first stranger growled, "I wasn't talking to you, I was talking to the two new suckers!"A sweet, enchanting voice wafted throughout the air, "Babies, quiet time. The Queen is back." A beautiful spider demon crawled out of the shadows, keeping her eyes on her new prisoners. Pigsy scoffed, "What do you want? Money?" A web shut him up."What could I want, hm? I used to be the most feared creature in the land. I wasn't a queen, I was the queen. Empress of Terror and Mistress of Horror." She beckoned herself, grinning proudly. Her smile suddenly dropped."But now, ugh, just look at this place. Look what's left of my empire. Nothing but a hole in the ground." She was right, what once must've been a bustling kingdom was nothing but a wasteland of debris and artifacts. "So, what do you think the Spider Queen could possibly want? Anyway, a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do. And you lot, will do." Her smile appeared, this time more menacing than prideful.Tang swallowed nervously, "Uh, do for what?" She leaned in and smirked, "Dinner." Manic laughter echoed out as she disappeared into the shadows once more.--The crew reached the market stall, staring down the gaping hole. Mei smirked, "There!" Monkey King rubbed his hands together, "Okay, so I know you guys don't like murder, so what about torture?" He batted his eyes and smiled innocently, and he suddenly looked more like a roughened-up adventurer than a savage deity. Mk stared at him, unimpressed, "Rescue mission only."--Tang tried to soothe his panicking husband, "Don't worry, Pigsy. I'm sure the kid will be here to rescue us any minute." The queen laughed, "Ain't no one gonna rescue you, sweet thing." Tang huffed, "Shows what you know. Our son, the Monkie Kid, will come to save us!" The demon turned to face them, "The Monkie Kid? Oh, please!" Tang frowned, "It's true! I think you better let us go. Before he comes and, uh, squishes you with Monkey King's legendary staff!""Hmm. Interesting. 'Fraid dinner would have to wait. We gotta get this place ready for company." --"Maybe you should've saved your boat for an adventure with more water." Sandy rubbed his arm while Monkey King helped MK out of the web-covered speedboat. "Yeah, I just got super excited." MK suddenly jolted and screamed, "Spider Demon!" Mei simply blew away the spider on his hair. "Nope, just a baby spider." Wukong stared at his successor in concern, "You good, bud?" MK nodded, "Yeah, it's just, spiders are so- UGH! Gross with all those legs and those- those beady little eyes and just- YUCK!" Monkey King would usually make fun of people whenever they were scared. So it was pretty strange when instead of teasing the young hero, he hummed and leaned in, "It's okay bud. Wanna know a secret?"MK tilted his head, "What?" Wukong leaned in even closer, "I'm scared of stuff, too. Main one? I'm terrified of going into deep water. I sink! I hate drowning or just not breathing. It's constricting, but I still go under if I have to. Whiiiiiich I kinda did when the stupid monk would get kidnapped basically 24/7." MK chuckled lightly, "So... it's okay to be afraid?" Wukong smiled softly, "Yeah." He didn't know why, but he had the need to reassure the small mortal. Usually, he was bitter or straight-up sarcastic and rough with other people. It was a big reason why he didn't have friends, but...He couldn't stand the thought of hurting MK in any way, shape, or form. Strange.Mei yelled out, "Come on, let's go find Piggy." MK saluted, "I'll use my super sight of truth to find our friends in this palace of nightmares." His vision glowed a vivid gold, and he visibly wilted."What do you see, MK?" MK gagged loudly, "Ew! Ew! This place is full of webs and horror! We're never gonna get through all this!" Monkey King promptly covered the kid's eyes. Mei smiled widely, "Ahem, if you'll allow me." She raised her blade, watching the weapon glow before suddenly blasting a hole into the wall. Sandy gasped, "Pigsy! Tang!" Webs suddenly snatched up Mei, Sandy, and Mo."MK-!" MK reached up, "Mei!" Monkey King stood against his successor's back, fur puffed and claws ready. "Don't tell me you're scared of spiders?"Pigsy spat out the webs in his mouth, "Kid, run!" Monkey King wasted no time grabbing Mk and pulling him along, his brain screaming for him to protect the kid--The Spider Queen cackled, "Oh, what's this? His majesty protecting some mortal? Now I've seen it all!" She rushed after them. Pigsy looked down and spotted Mei's Dragon Blade, "I'm sorry, Tang. I got us this into this mess. We're gonna meet to work together to get out of it." Tang nodded, determined to help his son and his mentor.--"And you're the kid old Monkey King chose?" MK puffed out his chest, "Hey! I'm a Monkie Man!" Wukong snarled, "You tell, her, kid!" Webs shot out, sticking to the volatile monkey, "ACK- Kid you're right spiders are gross. I really should've killed her when I had the chance." Spider Queen waltzed out, "But your dear ol' master stopped you." Monkey King tore off most of the webs and growled, "I hated that bitch." MK's eyebrows shot up in surprise, "Wait, wha--"He was suddenly slammed against the wall, his staff barely keeping the spider lady away from him, "Do you wanna know what you are? You're my ticket back to the throne. All that power the Monkey King gave you. After I made my dinner, it's all gonna be my power." Monkey King shot up, knocking her away as soon as her hand made contact with MK's hair. Using his tail, MK swung out of the way, spinning on his staff. "Kid!" MK turned around and gasped in relief, "Dadsy, Dad!" He hugged them, smiling at Sandy, Mei, and Mo, too. "We gotta help Monkey King, he's covered in sticky webs and he can't go full force or the cave will crumble on us!" A huge boulder suddenly crumbled down beside them, causing them to yell. Monkey King dodged a mechanical leg and punched it, snapping it. "UGH!! You are all HORRIBLE GUESTS!" MK whined, "YOU were gonna EAT my friends!" Wukong pulled another web out of his fur, "Where is the Sun Wukong from the legends, hm? The one who destroyed my kingdom all those years ago." A staff suddenly rammed into her, sending her flying, "AGH!" MK jumped into Sandy's speedboat, "Monkey King, c'mon!" Wukong jumped, reaching out for the group--"OH NO, YOU DON'T!! IF I'M GOING DOWN, SO ARE YOU!!" Multiple webs latched onto his fur, dragging him down with a huge thud, "GO GO GO!! DON'T WORRY ABOUT ME! MO, FIRE, OR I'LL EAT YOU!" The cat, who ignored his maybe-empty threat, begrudgingly pressed the button, blasting the cavern as the group plummeted into the waters below. "MONKEY KING!!" --The cavern crumbled, piling rubble on him. Wukong shoved off the boulders and huffed, activating his golden vision and spotting his target. She was struggling to climb when he appeared before her, glaring menacingly, "You."Spider Queen glared at him, bracing for her certain doom--Wukong simply shoved her back into the rubble, not caring if it hurt her. He slid down, landing next to her. He then abruptly stood up, glaring down at her with his menacing gaze, "Leave. Never come back." Spider Queen stared in shock, "Once again you take mercy because of some mortal..." "I was forced the first time, shut up. You're starting to make me regret mercy."Silence stretched out between them. The spider demon glared down at her fist, "...and if I were to return?" The monkey grinned, deranged laughter ringing out, sending shivers down her spine. He crouched down, caressing her scratched cheek with his claws, "You won't die."He stood up and leaped down into the wild waters below, leaving her completely alone.--MK stared out behind him, searching. Searching for his mentor. "MK, I'm sure he's fine. He can't die." MK ran a hand through his hair, "I know, but-- He could be hurt! O-Or..." He peered down into the water, "...he's scared of deep water..." A huge splash caught everyone's attention and a yelp, "KID, HERE--" Sandy quickly steered the boat as a bunch of bubbles floated to the surface. MK jumped in, using his staff to quickly scoop up his mentor and get them onto Sandy's speedboat quickly. Monkey King sputtered, spitting out water and shaking hard. MK examined him, noticing a couple of scrapes and bruises littering his body. Wukong sighed, "Ugh, I hate the fucking ocean." He sat up and sniffed, rubbing his nose. MK trapped him into a hug, squeezing him tightly, "You're okay!" "'Course, bud." MK looked back at his friends and grimaced, "She's not coming back, right..?" Monkey King scoffed, "After the warning I gave her, she better not." --Spider Queen clenched her teeth and slammed a fist down before suddenly smiling. She unfurled a fist, revealing brown fur, "Just wait, Monkey King, you and your little successor."
"Just you wait."

----- CHAPTER BREAK -----

//Some things are different, see if you can catch it! Also, I think Calabash Wukong and MK's interaction's gonna be hilarious. And ShadowPeach is starting to roll along ;) //
The ground shook roughly, jolting MK awake. He fell out of bed, scrambling around as his stuff fell, "Earthquake!" He yelped as his alarm clock fell on his tail, and the tremors suddenly ceased. MK stared down at his stuff and pouted, "Oh, no! My pwecious pwossessions..." The boy glared at his alarm clock and yelped again, "I'M LATE!" MK snatched up his uniform and headband, hurriedly pulling on everything, "AAAUGH, DADSY'S GONNA KILL ME!" As MK bounded down the stairs, he tried to summon his staff, "What the-? Staff, staff... where's--" MK looked up to see Pigsy angrily chopping a carrot, "You're here." MK gulped, "Dadsy!  I'm so sorry I'm late. I overslept, and I guess I didn't set an alarm? Honestly, I don't even remember going to bed. And the earthquake, and-and-and-- please don't fire me! I love helping you out and--" Pigsy suddenly turned around with a wide smile on his face, amusement clear in his eyes, "Fire you? Ha! Why would I fire you?" MK deflated slightly, "Uh, well, last time you said, 'If you are one minute late ever again, you are fired'!!" Pigsy snorted, "I said that? Really?" Tang suddenly swooped in, hooking his arm around Pigsy, "That doesn't sound like my sweet and caring husband!" MK awkwardly stared at their broad smiles and smiled hesitantly, "Really now..?"The world suddenly shook, sending the young hero into a panic, "DID YOU FEEL THAT?!" "What do you mean, MK?" Pigsy smirked with a glow in his eye, "What are you doing now?" MK kept patting his ear frantically, "I can't find my staff! It's gotta be really in there--" Tang snorted, "It's not in there, silly! Don't you remember? You sealed the Demon Bull King below a mountain with the staff. Seems like you have a case of the Mondays, haha!" MK's eyes widened, "Say what now." Tang sighed, "I tell you you work him too hard!" Pigsy nodded, "Alright, day off!" --MK skipped down the street, giddy, "My first day off! This is a perfect day!"
"Perfect!"
"No rush hour! Man, I thought I'd never see such a thing!"
"Perfect!"
"And more free cheese tea samples! Man, this is--"
"Perfect!"
MK slowly turned to the growing crowd and grimaced, "...Yeah..." As he turned around, the crowd flickered."Something's wrong. But what... DADSY SMILED!! He rarely smiles! I gotta tell Mei!" The young monkey turned around--"Mei!" Mei stood behind him with a big grin, "Hey, MK! What up?" MK laughed in relief, "Mei! I am so glad to see you! Something's wrong--" Mei shushed him, "None of that matters right now, we're gonna be late!" "Late for what?" MK had a sudden uneasy feeling...Suddenly they were in Sandy's boat, and only Mei's voice drifted, "Our romantic river cruise for two, of course!" --MK glanced around the boat, taking in the glittering fairy lights, the sunset glazing the boat, and the glow of candles on rose petals. A table for two had been set up, and he had a creeping feeling he knew who the two empty seats were for. "Uh, love what you've done with your boat, Sandy. It's very...uh...friendly." The river demon smiled warmly, "Isn't it perfect? I've finally figured it out. I felt like I really needed to cement what my role was in the group dynamic." MK opened his mouth to reassure Sandy, but was talked over."And then, it just came to me. Boom! Romantic cruises! Okay, I'll be right back with the hors d'oeuvres." MK waved hesitantly, "O-kay...This is just wrong. I knew Sandy was a romantic but this is next level." He heard footsteps and sighed, "Mei, something really bad and really weird is going on. I think I'm losing it. There's all these earthquakes, and Dadsy said I beat DBK, and everything is is all --" Mei moved her bang aside, practically glowing in the lights in her hanfu. Her horns had a certain shine and her tail was abnormally perfectly still and composed. "Perfect?" MK whimpered dramatically, tail curled around his leg, "Oh, no. It's spreading." Mei ignored his comment, instead, she bashfully glanced down, "MK. There's something I wanted to tell you, since the first day we met..." A sudden tremor sent them into each other, and Mei gripped MK's shirt tightly, "MK...I..."She looked up at him, like in a cheesy romance movie, "Love you..." MK immediately whirled around and gagged."Nope-- Nope that does NOT sit well with me--" He promptly barfed.Mei immediately panicked, "Wait! I mean --"--Yin huffed, "No, it's my turn. You're just going to tell him everything's perfect again." Jin jabbed his brother, "Oi. You forfeited your turn when you told me they should be in love!" Yin screeched in offense, "Oh! That was your idea!" Jin ripped down their bulletin pin with the love heart and cleared his throat, "But they're just friends. You should know that." Yin ran a hand down his face, "Well, there's got to be something about this in our scheme book." He plopped down a ridiculously oversized book filled with tabs and cracked it open, "Let's see..." "Step one; Imprison Monkie Kid in the Calabash." Jin nodded, "Yup, done." "Step two; Convince Monkie Kid he's not in the Calabash." Jin grimaced slightly, "Okay. We'll call that one 'work in progress'. Next?" Yin shrugged, "That's it. It's just the two steps." "Oh! We really need to put in more time into the development stage. We can still fix this!" Jin snatched the Calabash and cleared his throat, making his voice a higher pitch, "Haha, did I say in love?"--"I meant to say... I love being your friend!" 'Mei' nervously chuckled, and MK turned a whole new shade of green and nodded, "Uhuh, well, I gotta- U-Uh- Go-- SEE YOU!" Mei threw up finger guns, "As friends, right?" MK gave her a thumbs-up and ran away.'Mei' smirked, an Australian accent becoming more prominent, "I think I nailed that." 'Sandy' stood forward with a dark smirk, "Let's make sure we did." --MK hid in an alleyway and inhaled harshly. "You okay, Bud?" MK grinned, finally! Someone far from perfect! "Monkey Kin--"His voice died as soon as he turned around. Monkey King was eating a peach and waving at him lazily at him with it.That wasn't unusual, what was beyond horrific was the fact he had clothes on, was clean and well-combed out, and was sitting on his cloud neatly. MK stared in pure terror at how orange his fur actually was, how no stray hairs were on his face, how tame his eyes looked, and how neatly seated he presented himself. The Monkey King rose a scarred eyebrow, "Hey, Bud."

MK promptly started ugly crying.--Yin and Jin were thoroughly perplexed."Why is he sobbing?! His mentor's not a rabid animal anymore!!" Yin huffed in confusion, "I DON'T KNOW, SAY SOMETHING!!" --"MK? What's wrong?!" The simian hopped down, his boots making a neat 'thump' that only caused the distressed boy to cry even harder. Monkey King poked the boy, "MK?" "WHO A-ARE YOUUUUU! YOU HAVE CLOTHES A-AND YOU DON'T S-SMELLLLLL!!" MK simply plopped down and continued to sob hysterically. MK was not okay with a completely different mentor. He wanted his brave, oddly caring, mangy, socially awkward, savage Monkey King. Not this posh one."FIRST MEI C-CONFESSES TO M-ME NOW THISSSSS?!" A slap suddenly rang out."...Monkey King did you just slap me?" --"WHY'D YOU DO THAT?!""I DUNNO, I PANICKED AND THOUGHT MAYBE THAT'S WHAT HE'S LIKE!!" The brothers seriously messed up, they had no idea how to fix this.--Macaque walked over to his sun and poked him, "Wukong. MK needs your help." Monkey King's eyes snapped open and he sat up from his nap, "What." His moon smiled gently, "I'll portal you there." Wukong smiled softly and touched his forehead with Macaque's, "Thank you, Mango."A flustered Macaque hurridly transported Wukong, "Take care, Peaches." --MK placed a hand on his cheek tenderly and narrowed his eyes, "You...hit me." Monkey King immediately laughed nervously, "Haha, sorry, Bud! It was, to uh, snap you out of it!" MK stared at 'Wukong' and noticed how neat and clean his hair was. He cried even harder than before.--The brothers panicked, "WHY IS HE CRYING HARDER?!""I DON'T KNOW!!"The door suddenly flew off its hinges and as the dust settled, the two demon brothers noticed a very familiar pair of glowing eyes."Uh, halt! We are Jin and Yin, the Gold and Silver Demons!" Yin suddenly shoved his brother, "Mate, it's silver and gold. Silver and gold!" Jin shoved him back, " I'm not having this conversation again. It's gold and silver!" Monkey King simply strode up to them, smiling wryly, "Ah, I see. So you've trapped my successor in the Calabash, hm?" Yin nervously smiled, "Uh, yeah! We ordered noodles, got him to say his name as a way to confirm the delivery, and trapped him. H-He's okay, though! It's a p-perfect world--"A clawed hand snatched the blue demon by the throat, lifting him off the ground, "Is. That. So?" Monkey King was beyond relieved Yin and Jin weren't truly evil demons, because of the time he was trapped in there... It was an attempt to destroy him.Jin yelped, "Hey! Not cool, m-mate! Have the stupid gourd an' put him down!" Wukong extended his free hand, which Jin quickly placed the artifact in. Wukong dropped his hostage roughly and finally dropped his unnerving smile, "Get out."--MK plopped down on the ground and sniffled, the perfect Monkey King had been oddly silent for a while now...The monkey looked up and realized he was surrounded by a dull yellow void. Huh?"MK! Bud, you're in an artifact called 'The Calabash'! Just grab the staff, I don't wanna hurt you by accident if I just break this thing. NOW GRAB THE FUCKING HEAVY STICK, KIDDO!!" MK grinned and laughed hoarsely, "MONKEY KING!!" He continued his relieved laughter as he ran to his left, sensing the staff nearby. MK grabbed it, letting the familiar dizzying magic flow over him.--"Kid!" A cheerful voice and arms engulfed him, and MK teared up again, "I am so glad you're not perfect." Wukong let go and examined his tear-streaked cub, "Me, too. C'mon, call Pigsy and let me talk to him. You are definitely getting a break and hanging out with me and Macaque!" MK laughed and nodded, "That sounds good..."

----- CHAPTER BREAK -----

(This chapter is mostly going to focus on Wukong processing bonds and the others learning more about him, and it's because1- The script for the episode online is incomplete and 2- Because it's an AU that is supposed to switch things up plus this episode is not very progressive. And touch-starved/neurodivergent monkey go burr.)
"Once a year, this city becomes more than a city. Once a year, these streets become more than streets. This year... the winner... will become... immortal!" The voice announced clearly before panning over to a huge, golden-peach trophy. MK stared in awe, "An immortal peach!" He looked at his mentor, who was oddly enough staring intensely at the screen. It was kinda concerning, but then again the first time he saw a TV he tried to literally eat it so MK shrugged it off. Pigsy snorted, "A what?" MK and Mei's faces soured and they both started yelling at him, "Pigsy, how could you NOT know?! Your husband AND son are fans of Monkey King!" MK exhaled dramatically, "Dadsy I expected better from you! Right, Monkey King?" Wukong ever so slowly turned to face his student and stared. That's it, he literally just stared at him. Creep.Tang cleared his throat, "If I may! Legend says there is a sacred field of trees that grow in the Heavenly Realm, protected by the gods themselves. Every few thousand years, these trees bring forth the Peaches of Immortality. Against the wishes of the Heavenly Host, the Monkey King took nearly all of them, making him and Macaque immortal!"Pigsy quirked a brow, "So he stole from Heaven?" Wukong blinked and shrugged, "I didn't know it was Heaven. I just saw someone fly into the sky, snatched a cloud, and happened to see an orchid of peaches. Hell, I didn't even know it made people immortal until the fucking monk told me so!" MK flinched slightly, startled by how he spoke about his master. "...Monkey King, do you...hate...your master?" Everyone went eerily silent and Wukong scowled, "Very fuckin' much." The shocked silence stretched out until the raggedy demon suddenly stood up, "So are any of you racing?"--Red Son threw his hands up, "Whoever wins this race will live forever! A-Are you two even listening?" He deflated, sparking from frustration. His parents yawned and his mother smiled softly, "Uh... something about peaches? Look, your schemes are quaint, but I never much cared for stone fruit." Red Son knew she was teasing him, but it still frustrated him greatly. Listen, he loved his family. His family loved him. Demons were super loyal to one another unless there was a giant reason to not be, they were close-knit. But they were still demons, which still meant tough love was blatantly on the table."But... the peaches are powerful!" His mother snorted, "Like how the Weather Station was powerful? Why don't you just run along, hmm? Can't you see Mommy and Daddy have important business with an ancient power source?" She gestured at the icily eery tomb being aggressively excavated. Red Son ground his teeth, uneasy with just looking at the thing. Red Son fumed, spinning on his heel, "Fine! You two stay here in your hole digging your 'mysterious power source'. I am going to win the race, and when I get that peach, I'm not sharing!" He stomped away, angry tears springing up.DBK stared after his son and sighed, "Don't you think that's a tad too far? Bringing up past failures is never taken lightly, you know." He smiled down at PIF as she sighed, "You're right. I guess I'm just tired. This damn tomb won't budge!" --MK stared in awe at Mei's vehicle, "This is huge! Those other racers won't stand a chance!" He examined it, staring in pure awe at the thing. Wukong sniffed it, then stuck his tongue out and slowly leaned forward--"Do NOT lick my race cart!" Mei smacked him, and Wukong, even though he didn't feel any pain, hissed at her. Tang nervously grimaced, "Maybe don't fight with someone literally nicknamed 'Savage King'?" Wukong stopped snarling at the dragon girl, going oddly still and silent at the harsh nickname. MK patted Wukong's back, and Wukong was uncomfortably hyper-aware of the touch, "Don't worry, Monkey King! When Mei and I win--" Mei huffed, "Excuse me? MK,  I know the track like the back of my hand! The back alleys, front alleys, and sideway alleys. All the alleys! I was made for this! You've watched me train for months!" MK sheepishly rubbed his neck."Oh, yeah, uh, I just thought you were doing that stuff for me..." Mei glared daggers into him and he covered, falling over, "But upon reflection, that doesn't make much sense." Wukong stood protectively above the boy, exhaling through his nose, "Just race together or something! Aren't friends supposed to do shit together?" Pigsy jokingly rolled his eyes, "How would you know, oh great Savage King?" Wukong knew he was joking, he knew Pigsy teased often.
So why did that hurt so much?
MK sat up, taking in Wukong's sudden silence. "Monkey King? Hey, Dadsy was just joking! You have friends! Uh, like Macaque, Mei, Sandy, and me! And you've been getting along with Dadsy and Dad!" Pigsy's smirk dropped and he stepped forward, touching Wukong's shoulder, "Hey, I was just joking!" All this touch was...overwhelming. And yet not enough. He had Macaque, yes, but he wasn't always around, he had a life outside of just Wukong, plus, the rusty-colored monkey was forced to go out more often these days. Monkey King inhaled deeply, wiping away at his eye, "It's fine. I didn't know I had friends, and Mango doesn't count. He said so." Mei nervously fidgeted, "You're right, Monke- er- Wukong. We're friends! MK can help me with keeping an eye on the other racers!" Wukong slowly looked over at her and nodded stiffly, "Good plan." --MK and Mei were basically vibrating from excitement, they were taking in the exciting views and vibes. All the racers were warming up their engines, revving loudly. In the stands, Pigsy, Tang, and Wukong watched on. Sandy wasn't able to make it since Mo got sick. Wukong was wearing a hoodie and sunglasses, he didn't want to bother with a human disguise, it always made him feel too bare. He looked the same, but without all of his fur, a beard, and of course his tail still remained and he wasn't a fan of glamour. Pigsy straight-up called him lazy, though. Suddenly a monster truck stormed in, Red Son cackling inside of it, "HAH!! I am going to beat ALL OF YOU, PEASANTS!!" Mei huffed, "Nuh-uh! MK and I are gonna win!" Red Son sputtered, "Noodle Boy?! Dragon Horse Girl?!" The speakers suddenly turned on, "Yin and Jin, the Gold and Silver Demons here! Your amazing announcers today, and as we see here, folks, THE Prince of the Demon Bull King family is here! RRRRRRED SON!" Jin suddenly jumped in, "And not just that! THE Monkie Kid AND Mei Dragon are racing together! Man, these racers are in for it, now!" A buzzer suddenly went off, and the demon brothers cheered, "THREE...TWO...ONE!! GOOOOOOO RACERS!!" Mei and MK immediately sped off, leaving behind a startled Demon Prince."G-GET BACK HERE!!" He revved his engine, zooming off, not caring if he was bulldozing the other racers. --Wukong honestly wanted to get away from the loud crowd, but he didn't wanna leave his kid and new-found friend--Wukong blinked owlishly. Kid. Friend. Huh...Wukong rubbed his scarred cheek and visibly flinched when the mountain part of the race track was revealed. The mountain looked stupidly similar to...another mountain. Tang noticed his reaction, furrowing his eyebrow. "Are you alright, Mon- Wukong?" The unpredictable demon's fur puffed and he growled lowly, "Mountain. It looks too...familiar." He stared intently at Tang and huffed, "...I don't like your face." Tang sputtered, "Excuse me?!" Pigsy jolted in his seat, biting back a laugh, "Why? If cha don't mind me askin'." Wukong scratched at his arm, a bad habit Macaque kept scolding him for. "His face is too familiar. Yours too. I don't like it." Pigsy stared in bewilderment, "Familiar?" Wukong closed his eyes, feeling way too overstimulated by all this noise. He could feel his claws tearing at his sleeve, he could feel them brushing against his fur.His thoughts bounced from the scratching to Pigsy's question. Then it bounced to a memory of Zhu Baiji and Tripitaka. The scratching increased, and his thoughts jumped to that one time Baiji got smacked silly by a lady. That was funny.MK was also funny, but not annoying at all. Wonder how he and Mei are doing. Wukong opened his eyes and stared at the screen, watching a green streak pass Red Son's truck. Wukong smiled softly, they passed his kinda-nephew. He is his kinda-nephew cause DBK is his ex-sworn brother. And PIF is Macaque's sworn sister. Macaque probably still has tea parties with her after all these years.Actually, that sounds fun. He heard tears in his sleeve, and he continued scratching. He could feel the torn fibers dance above his fur, could feel the breeze blowing in touch his skin. He could really use Macaque's or one of the kids' hugs right now. Mei and MK were great huggers, but they touched him sparcely due to his volatile reputation.Oh, right, he was destroying the hoodie.Whatever, he didn't like the clothes on him. But maybe he should stop since this belongs to MK. But he couldn't stop, especially sin--"You're taking an awful long time answering." Pigsy furrowed his brows and looked down at Wukong's scratching frenzy. Wukong inhaled slowly, "Oh. Yeah. Uh...you look like Zhu Baiji. Tang looks like Tripitaka. I hate them, they weren't my friends or allies, well, not really." He felt his claws rake his fur and skin, that was gonna leave a mark. He was very durable, but he was also powerful. He could very well still cause harm to himself. He wondered if he had any scars under his long, untamed fur. Could be possible, once on a windy day he saw a scar on his arm when the wind blew his fur upward. How many more does he have, then? Hiding under the tangles and rough fur?Tang waved his hand in front of Wukong's face and Wukong batted it away. "Why do you hate them so much?" "Would you like a guy who frames you, insults you, and creeps on women? Would you be happy with someone who tricked you into wearing a 'crown' that literally tightens into your skull, treats you like a monster, and only believes liars instead of you when you literally have the Eyes of Truth?"Before the duo could react, an announcement rang out, "AND THE WINNERS ARE MEI DRAGON AND MK THE MONKIE KID!!" Tang and Pigsy cheered, and Wukong dug his claws into his arm, startled by the burst of noise. --MK rubbed his jaw, "Owww..." Mei cackled at the boys below her, "It's not ACTUAL Peach of Immortality! It's a metaphor!" Red Son sputtered and flamed away, "WHATEVER!!" Pigsy and Tang laughed along, "Wow MK, that was a pretty big bite!" MK looked at Wukong and whined, "Did you know it wasn't real?!" Monkey King nodded, "I thought you knew!" MK threw up his arms, "But you stared super intensely at the TV!!" "Cause it's not the right kind of peach! And I wanted to know if I could eat it." Everyone laughed at the predictable response, and Wukong frowned, "How is that funny?" MK stopped laughing and bent down suddenly, staring at Wukong's arm. Wukong stared down at the bloody tear in the sleeve and grimaced, "Sorry, I can replace your hoodie if you'd like." Pigsy suddenly snatched his arm, examining it closely, "...claw marks. Did you scratch yourself?" "Yeah? I know, I know! It's a bad habit, but I just got so nervous and it was so stuffy and loud!" Wukong simply whined like a child, pulling his arm away. He suddenly looked over at Mei and hummed, "Still, I wonder if I could eat that fake peach."--MK and Mei were squealing and running around, "YOU CAN'T EAT OUR TROPHY, WEIRDO!!" Monkey King chased them from behind, laughing, "YES I CAN!" Pigsy held the folded hoodie, frowning. Tang was also staring at Wukong's newly bandaged arm. "What the heck happened to the damn monkey?"

----- CHAPTER BREAK -----

(MK learns to manage his ADHD and Musty Monkey Man finally gets a proper bath that isn't once a year)
Monkey King ducked down low, dodging MK's staff swing successfully. MK raised the staff, using it to boost a leg and swinging again with his whole body. An impressive move, honestly.Monkey King threw himself to the right, using his tail to snatch MK's leg and oh-so-majestically throw the young hero into a rock wall.Dust and debris flew up, coating the two monkeys. MK yanked himself out of the crater, popping out of it and clumsily standing back up. Monkey King sneezed, sending dust flying out of his heavily coated fur. Instead of looking orange after his once-a-month bath or even his usual musty rust-colored fur, he looked mocha-brown."Better. You've improved!" MK's eyes sparkled, "Really?" Wukong half-heartedly patted MK's dirty hair and started off-handily grooming him, "Yeah. Well, except you have to work on your focus. You suck at that. It's like you get stuck in your head!"The boy pushed his mentor's hand away, "What?! But I'm amazing at focus! I'm like the Number One Focus guy!" Monkey King snorted, rubbing his face in an attempt to get rid of the dirt on it. MK squinted, trying to find his scars under the dust.Actually, he kinda always wondered how he got those. Monkey King's almost invincible! And scars that are super prominent on faces have to have been super gory!Maybe--Monkey King sighed, "You're doing it again." MK sputtered, "Yeah?! Well, your legacy is about being impulsive and bonkers!" Wukong swatted at his student, "Still am! Your point?" MK grumbled, kicking a rock with his dirty shoe.Wukong groaned loudly, "Focus is taking in everything, but honing in only on the one thing that matters. Right now, I'm talking to you while also honing in on the speed of the wind, the moisture in the air, the grains in my fucking fur..."Wukong twirled around, "Macaque's dripping laundry on the clothes rack! The warmth of the sun!" MK looked up at the sky, smiling.Wukong suddenly stared intensely into MK's eyes, and his grin was VERY strained, "...The fact the residence of my soul that contemplate the fact that I am an immortal being, who will never be able to die." MK swallowed hard, unable to ease the sheer amount of unease he felt. The now brown monkey suddenly smiled sweetly and cooed at a bug on a grass blade, "And that grasshopper over there! But I'm paying attention to you. Take in everything, choose what you want to do, and then do it. That is focus!"MK rubbed his temple, annoyed, "That sounds... super confusing, and you're just constantly distracted. I think you're just neurodivergent..." Monkey King quirked a brow, "...a huh? Whatever! You still don't know how to focus in battle, which sucks."MK scoffed, "I-I can totally focus!"--Pigsy huffed, interrupting the two musty monkeys eating, "Hey, uh, MK. Do you mind explaining to me why I have two hundred orders of noodles that haven't been delivered yet?! AND WHY YOU'RE TRAILING DIRT EVERYWHERE?!"MK chuckled nervously, "I, uh, was training and got thrown into a rock wall..?" Pigsy sighed deeply, "Buddha give me strength..." Monkey King subtly flinched at the statement, "Sorry. I threw him and got him all messed up."MK and Pigsy both painfully caught him subtly rubbing a very specific area around his head.Pigsy continued, subtly placing a hard-boiled egg in Wukong's bowl, "Distraction. That's your greatest weakness, MK. You need to follow through on the task at hand. Understand?" Tang rose a brow at his husband's actions but continued eating anyway.MK huffed, "What?"Pigsy practically blew up, "That's it! You are GROUNDED, that means NO going out, NO working, and NO training with Wukong until you get your act together!" Wukong choked on his egg, trying not to laugh.MK sputtered, "What?! Give me another chance. Please. I-I can do better!" Pigsy scoffed, and the phone suddenly rang. Pigsy swiftly picked it up, "Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Of course. Right way." He hung up and turned towards his son, "Fine. One more chance. But, if you slip up, even a little bit- Well, the Deliverybot 9000 is surprisingly affordable!"MK sputtered, saluting dramatically, "I'm not gonna let you down, Dadsy. I'm gonna have to focus like I've never focused before!" He reached for the noodles and hooved hands smacked him, "Nuh-uh! Not all musty you won't! Wash up first."MK pouted but raced upstairs to do just that.Pigsy turned towards Monkey King and smirked, "You're getting cleaned, too." Tang sighed, rolling up his sleeves, "We gotta hose him down, first. He's got a lot more grime than just dirt."Wukong fell out of his stool, a comedic imprint of dirt appearing where he fell, "B-But it's not my monthly bath!"Tang grimaced, "Ew. You're definitely supposed to bathe more often than that!" Wukong hissed, backing away from the determined husbands. "Herrrrre, Wukong Wukong Wuk-"MK suddenly ran down, freshly cleaned, and bounced out the door, "BYEEEE!! AND BE CAREFUL HE BITES AND PROBABLY HAS RABIES!!"Pigsy and Tang turned once again towards said rabid monkey with a gleam in their eyes that made his fur puff out, and Wukong bared his fangs.--Mk breathed in deeply, "Okay, do just like Monkey King said! Focus. Take everything in." He drove down the street, looking around, "Lamppost. Street sign. Amazing awesome arcade, filled with the best stuff in the universe..."He casually abandoned the tuk-tuk, diving into the arcade and immediately engaging in the games.Man, these games are so cool--
THE ORDERS!!
MK ran back into the tuk-tuk, driving away, "FOCUS, MK, FOCUS!!"--Wukong garbled in the water being shot at him, and he gagged, "I HATE THIS HOSE!!" Pigsy continued to spray him down, wincing slightly at his bandaged arm. Tang sniffled, quietly enjoying the monkey's suffering since he managed to bite both of the scholar's hands.Pigsy sighed, signaling Tang to turn off the hose, "We're probably gonna need rabies shots."Tang rolled his eyes and begrudgingly turned off the hose. Wukong shivered violently, soaking wet. He was back to his murky rusty-orange, "Are you done now?"Pigsy cracked his neck and smirked, "Nope. That was just a rinse."--MK walked over to the tuk-tuk, having successfully delivered most of the deliveries. But while getting distracted a LOT."What is going on?! I can't let Dadsy down! I just need to concentrate. Just make up for lost time. I can do it. Nothing is gonna stop me!" A soccer ball suddenly hit his face, and he yelped, "Hey, watch it!"A young boy grimaced, "Jeepers. Sorry, mister. Hey, you want to play? We need someone else so we could have a proper game." MK stared at the two adorable little boys and his tail swooshed passionately, "Aw. I really wish I could, but...but if I do..."MK gulped as he imagined playing with them and getting suspended as a robot took over his job..."I have to make this delivery! You all just want to trick me into staying here forever! I'm not falling for it!" He revved the engine, driving away.As he drove away, the sweet children suddenly became huge demons."How did you think he knew that we were going to imprison him forever?" The green demon scratched his cheek in confusion. The red demon shrugged, "Who knows." The blue demon smirked, "Oh, look. Here comes another one!"They promptly became children again----"Quit squirming!"Wukong spat out the bubbles in his mouth as Tang dumped water onto his head, accidentally activating his Eyes of Truth when a couple of suds fell into his eye "I hate you."Pigsy scoffed, battling with the monkey's tangled hair, "Uh huh." Wukong growled and Tang sighed, reaching behind him. Monkey King glared at him, "What are you doing."The scholar wordlessly plopped a rubber duck into the tub.Wukong poked and prodded the toy, suddenly quiet. He glared at the duck and suddenly bit it, keeping it in his mouth. Pigsy rolled his eyes, "Better the duck than us."

--MK stared at the signs at the split trails, trying to decide which way to go.He glanced at the happy, dainty trail. Then he turned to the dark, ominous trail...MK inhaled slowly, "I think we know what the obvious choice here is."He sped off into the dark and creepy trail. As he drove, dark, twisted branches scratched at him and the boy yelped, "HEY!! What the-?!" He dodged a flailing branch that almost nipped him, speeding away from them. "Agh is this my stress?!"MK looked around, staring at the trees, feeling the wind, steering along the bumpy road--"I'm distracted! Focus, MK...FOCUS!!" His vision became golden, and suddenly everything dissipated. MK breathed heavily, exiting the forest, "I should probably tell Monkey King or Macaque about the magic stress."--Monkey King chewed angrily at the plastic in his mouth, scrunching his nose in distaste as Pigsy brushed roughly at his hair, "Why is this so damn knotted?!"Wukong opened his mouth, letting the punctured toy fall into the water, "I don't know. Maybe don't brush it then?"Pigsy snorted, simply handing Tang a brush so he could brush Wukong's hair too. "Does Macaque know the condition of your hair?" The now orange monkey looked down at the water, "No. I lie to him. I tell him the monkeys groom me, but... I don't want to bother them. I'm rowdier, which means they'd struggle to groom me hourly much less daily."Tang hummed in question, "Why lie?"Wukong poked the rubber duck, "...I don't want him to feel useless. Being blind is the reason he can't groom me correctly. Besides! He has a life outside of just me! He wants me to get one, too, but he always seems nervous."Silence befell the group, and the married duo simply kept brushing Wukong. Eventually, the monkey went slack and finally surrendered to the pair's actions. They weren't that bad, after all...--MK gasped, standing in front of Flower Fruit Mountain, "Did Monkey King order noodles?"A shadow portal opened up, and Macaque popped up with a small smile, "That would be my order, actually. Wukong's currently getting manhandled by your dads." MK laughed, "What if we head over? With you! We rarely see you around, that's all..."Macaque's smile shrank slightly, "...Alright."--This is absolutely hilarious.Macaque and MK were both howling with laughter, Wukong stood in front of the two with Macaque's hands running along his arms in a pair of sweatpants and with very fluffy fur.Macaque giggled, "Peaches, you don't smell like musty dust and peaches anymore! Just peaches and flowers, haha!" Wukong pouted, unamused. His successor was no more merciful, cooing as he played with the puff of hair, "Aww, you're so fluffy!!"Wukong scrunched up his nose and hissed, "Where are my pants." Pigsy glared back, "They need to wash. It's as grimy as you before that hour-long bath!"Macaque's pale eyes widened, "An hour? Wukong someone clean does not need an hour!" Wukong rubbed his arm, "I don't like baths." The lie came quickly and easily, like flowing water.Pigsy and Tang shot the golden monkey a look, "...He practically ate a rubber duck."Macaque broke into a grin, "AWWWW~!!" Wukong swatted him away, "This is NOT becoming a normal occurrence!""At least brUSH YOUR HAIR!!"

----- CHAPTER BREAK -----

The creepy mayor smiled widely as MK held the key close, "The key to the city! Wow!" The mayor cackled manically, dissipating a blue cloud..."I don't think that was the mayor." Mei and MK walked out of the noodle shop, perplexed, "Hey, Mei, do you think this can open...any door in the city?" The dragon girl quirked a brow, "Maybe? Try it! Now I wanna know!" The two friends grinned brightly, suddenly running towards the arcade. --DBK roared in frustration, watching yet another fail when it came to cracking open the tomb. "Another infernal obstacle keeping me from my destiny!" He stomped, peering down at the magical keyhole. PIF patted him, sighing, Patience, my love." The Bull King huffed, "I've waited long enough!" Red Son suddenly walked over, showing off a hologram of a very strange key, "I believe this is what we're looking for, father." --Wukong stirred on his cloud, rolling off of Macaque's lap in an anxious haze, "Mango, Mango--" He sat up abruptly, nearly head-butting his counterpart, "Peaches? Hey-- What-?" Macaque stirred from his sleep, leaning away from the tree the cloud was up against and that Macaque was using as his resting spot. Wukong fell off of the cloud and Macaque's lap, landing hard and clearly shaken. "Plum, Plum something's terribly wrong!" The monkey sat up, hissing slightly as his bandaged side protested. "Wukong, careful! You literally crashed into a tree yesterday!" The dark-furred monkey scolded his partner, fuming at his disregard. Wukong slacked ever so slightly. He remembered how panicked his successor was after accidentally launching Wukong into a tree grove with his staff. Macaque continued to glare at what he assumed was Wukong's bandaged side. However, he couldn't stay mad since his rusty-furred partner was heaving with his heart beating like a hummingbird. Wukong turned towards Macaque, "Warp me to the city. There is something I need to find now."--MK and Mei quickly discovered that yes the key does, in fact, have the ability to open any door. MK peered down at the key and wondered...He held it up to his head, suddenly in front of a vast being resembling him, ethereal In every way as stars and heavenly formations decorated the being. A warm, powerful flow of magic flushed in his body, coursing through his veins. MK had never felt something so...
Celestial.
The boy gasped, dropping his arm towards his side, amazed. --Red Son shuffled MK's drawings, staring down at them. The fire demon huffed, slowly burning the pages. Red Son dropped them, not bothering with putting out the burned pages. He admired his polished nails momentarily before catching a glint coming from under a drawer. The Bull Prince bent down, pulling out a golden necklace with a red gem in the middle. An amulet, perhaps? The demon placed it around his neck, maybe it can be of use. For now, he'd settle with vandalism and arson.--MK and Mei giggled, carrying bags from the mall. "Wow, MK, we've gotta use that thing more often!" A blur suddenly launched out of a dark shadow portal, resulting in Monkey King landing in front of them. Mei and MK blinked in surprise, "...Wukong..?" Wukong sprang up and grabbed MK's shoulders, "YOU HAVE A HORRIBLE AURA ON YOU!" MK squeaked in shock, "HUH?!" Mei peaked around the two monkeys, pointing at the distance, "...Is that smoke coming from Pigsy's?" MK and Wukong whirled around, "WHAT?!" --Red Son stepped out from the flame and cackled, "Hello, heroes!" Mei made a sour expression, "Why are you in MK's apartment you creep?!" MK sputtered, "You better not have touched my stuff before burning it! WAIT IS THAT MY GRANDMA FROM DAD'S SIDE'S NECKLACE?!" Wukong simply stared.
...That was super unsettling.
Red Son shuffled in place, "Uh, hello kinda-uncle Wukong." At the title, Wukong's stare softened slightly. The little bull demon turned towards the shocked dragon and brunette monkey, "I believe you have something I want!"MK pulled the key from his pocket, staring down at its whispering energy. Rusty-orange-furred hands snatched the key from MK's brown-furred ones. Wukong twiddled with the key and breathed out a huff, "You are NOT getting your hands on this!" Red Son growled and dove forward, practically flying out of the wrecked apartment.Flames were stopped by a gleaming staff and jade sword, throwing him off. MK twirled the staff, dodging a sharp blow and propelling more flames away from his very much flammable body. Red Son practically teleported with how quickly he zipped with his sparks, making his way toward Mei.Mei threw out her blade, nearly colliding with the Demon Prince. Wukong launched himself forward, snatching Red's ankles, and watched him fall over. "This key is a threat to the world, kinda-nephew!" Red Son paused briefly before continuing, trying to get to Wukong's closed fist and guarded key. "You're just trying to stop my father!" MK landed a good hit, sending Red Son into the pavement, "That, too! Red, if Wukong says it's dangerous--" "Well well well, what do we have here?" A sweet, smooth-sounding voice appeared as the wind swirled around a very distinct figure.  Wukong snarled at her, "Princess. How are the tea parties? I might join sometime!" Princess Iron Fan glared before smirking at Wukong's recent injuries, "Just hand over the key, simian." Monkey King bared his teeth and growled, letting out a noise so unique and unsettling it made everyone's spines tingle. MK and Mei's faces were covered in a cold sweat, unsure of what exactly the 'Savage King' was going to do. Red Son sat up from where he'd landed, eyes darting and examining the unpredictable deity. PIF was equally nervous but hid it well. Though she was starting to have second thoughts.Wukong took a step forward, letting his magic flow through the ground. As he breathed in and out, his golden rage filled the air around him, sending everyone into an even further state of pure fear. His eyes glowed red, golden pupils carefully trained on their target. The enemy.MK skittishly reached out a hand, grabbing Wukong's arm. He gasped with a pained whimper at the feeling of something electrical squeezing his own magic. Wukong reacted to MK's retreating hand, and Mei was shaking, "Wukong, just m-maybe let them go-?" PIF's eyes shot open, wide and unmoving, before abruptly summoning the wind to whirl around her and her precious son, "Whatever! We don't need that stupid key anyway!" --Wukong didn't mean to scare them, honest. He was just trying to intimidate their opponents. Now he stared uneasily as MK and Mei visibly flinched when he turned.  Wukong backed away, noticeably doing it for them to feel at ease. He didn't mean to be a...a...Wukong's brain faltered but found just the right word.
Monster.
Wukong was a monster, it'd been proven time and time again. This was no different. The electrical power seizing the young heroes suddenly dissipated, and instead, they felt a lingering emptiness. MK nearly kicked himself when he realized how he'd reacted. Mei realized it, too, and reached out a hand toward Wukong, "Hey--" Monkey King turned around, head down, "...I'm gonna go lock this thing away. Sorry for the inconvenience." He simply left, flying away on his cloud.MK and Mei shuffled into his destroyed apartment and sat in silence, "...He thinks we're terrified of him, doesn't he..?" --DBK growled, thumping his fist loudly, "Another obstacle! UGH!!" He suddenly paused as his eyes landed on the amulet around Red Son's neck, "Red, come here." The prince nervously stepped forward, "Yes, Father?" DBK gently tapped at the amulet and grinned, "My son, that is an artifact of great power! Why that seems to be the amulet the great monk Tripitaka wore!" His love grinned proudly, an evil glint emitted in her eyes as she beckoned at the tomb, "We can open the tomb by harnessing that power! You are not so useless after all, my prince." Red Son beamed brightly, proud he did something right for once.He faltered slightly.
Why did this feel so

wrong?

----- CHAPTER BREAK -----

MK swung the sledgehammer against the mural, watching it only receive a small dent. The boy groaned loudly, "Why am I doing this again?" Monkey King was busy vandalizing the people on the mural, except for himself. He looked away from his latest masterpiece, Tripitaka with elephant ears and an angry face, towards his student."You depend too much on the staff. You have to practice using your strength, and putting those muscles to use is how you get it done!" MK groaned, sitting down, "This is impossible!" Monkey King waltzed over, abandoning the paintbrush he was previously holding. He simply picked up the hammer and swung in a swift motion, taking down a good chunk of the wall, "Step into the strike, kiddo!" His student's eyes widened, "Woah." Monkey King suddenly sneezed loudly, "Dust." MK nodded along, "Dust." --Wukong watched MK leave, and his smile dropped. He picked up some paint and proceeded to angrily splatter red paint on the last figure, himself. He watched the blood-red paint ooze against his image, feeling tears prick his eyes. He was a monster, it didn't matter if most of the blood was forced by the Golden Fillet, it was still his hands, his power. Wukong punched the wall, cracking and breaking what was left of the mural. He slowly slid down the crumbled wall, suddenly feeling oddly numb. Macaque found him later, crouched against the broken wall, feverish and unresponsive to the world around him.--Wukong woke up, hazy and sticky. He sat up slowly, staring at his hands. He wanted a hug, a hand to squeeze, someone, something...Macaque was all he had. He now had MK and the gang, sure, but he's never been vulnerable with them before. Could he trust them?
...do they trust him?

A monster?

The ill monkey curled in on himself, was he a danger to his Plum? There was a reason he had the title of 'Savage King'. It represented the fact he brought violence and misery with just his hands. Macaque was with him since the day he hatched, he didn't realize just how poisonous and horrible Wukong truly was.Monkey King bowed his head low into his hands and cried, pouring out the agony in his heart.--MK stared in shock at Macaque, "What do you mean sick? I thought he couldn't get ill anymore!" Macaque faced him with a facial expression of pure amusement, "He doesn't get sick often, he's only gotten sick five times before. But when he does get sick, it's really bad." That was an understatement, Wukong's been awfully depressed lately, which made his illness worse than it should be. MK slumped, "Oh. Well, maybe you could train me?"Macaque's smile dropped slightly. He liked the kid, a lot, really, but... There was a reason he only wanted Wukong to hang out with the kid and his friends. Wukong needed to get a life that didn't involve Macaque. Even if the thought of Wukong not needing him hurt, it wasn't fair for Macaque to have friends outside of his partner while he only surrounded his life around Macaque. So he politely declined, "Sorry, kiddo, but someone's gotta keep an eye on Wukong. Someone who won't get imploded every time he sneezes, anyway." That and someone who he doesn't mind being within his roughest times. Especially not with his seasonal depression. And that really should've been the end of the discussion.--MK was chatting with Mei when a huge bang sounded from outside. The duo ran out, spotting a huge demon in kaiju form. They had four arms, three tails, and these strange vines surrounding them. The demon itself was a red panda, adorable if it weren't for the fact it was trying to destroy the city with the plants wrapped around it. MK huffed, "Here comes Monkie Kid-!" The vines snatched his ankles, throwing him down. He sat up from the crater he formed, groggy. A figure suddenly lept on a roof, a monkey who was well-dressed with a spiked staff, and six glowing ears, each pair a different color.Wind erupted, sending the kaiju flying. Macaque!--Macaque had his head tilted, tracking the demon. From the sound of it, it reverted back to its normal form. However, Macque didn't doubt it would come back for a rematch. He turned around--"THAT WAS SO COOL, MAC!!" The dark-furred monkey jumped back in shock, tracking the eager monkey's voice and sighing in relief, "Oh, it's just you, cub." MK kept bouncing around, each vibration tickled Macaque's ears. "You gotta teach me that! Wait, what are you doing here?" "You aren't ready to fight kaiju forms." The younger of the two stilled, "Why?" Macaque sighed, "Kaiju forms are only accessible to demons who are super powerful or deities. Wukong and I have kaiju forms, but I couldn't use mine without causing damage. So I moved the threat so I can deal with them later, that being said, you are not at all ready to fight kaijus yet." He turned to leave--"Please teach me! Please, please, please?" Macaque grumbled, "No, Wukong is your mentor, he'll teach you." The young hero deflated slightly, and his soft voice floated pitifully to Macaque's ears, "...I just want to be good enough. I can't even break a wall, how can I be Wukong's successor? I need help, just a little?" Macaque stilled, listening to the boy's slow thump of his heart and the melancholy feel in the air around him. He was being genuine. "...okay..."--Macaque lifted the hammer in his grasp, "Good. But you need better balance in order to land a sturdier blow." MK nodded, "Okay, so how do I do that..?"Macaque had to admit, teaching the energetic monkey was a breath of fresh air he didn't know he needed. He also got this sense of protectiveness for the boy, and he understood very well why Wukong was always so willing to drop everything for him.MK was full of life, dedicated, and optimistic. He wasn't afraid of his emotions or weaknesses, if anything he acknowledged them. He was smart, too, a little dense but amazing either way. MK threw another hit at the board, this time splitting it, "I DID IT!! DID YOU SEE...that. That's my bad." Macaque smirked, "I saw it, alright." MK grumbled, "How do I keep forgetting you're blind?!" "Hey, it's okay! I don't see a problem with it." The brunette monkey glowered, "...hardy har har." Macaque's head suddenly tilted, his bright ears flickered and glowed in a mesmerizing pattern. The dark-furred monkey frowned, "The kaiju's looking for a fight. MK, go home." MK huffed, "I wanna help-!" "No. Go home." Macaque ruffled the student's hair before turning to leave.--Macaque made sure not to teleport, he needed a lot of energy for what he was planning to do and who he was facing. Instead, he depended on his stealth and the shadows. He hiked up a mountain, weary of the restless demon on top. His full attention was focused solely on the red panda, Hui Ying. She was known as a beautiful, brilliant demoness with powers to match. The problem was the fact she adored chaos as much as she adored her beautiful fur. With all the fluff, gracefulness, and big amber eyes came her claws, fangs, and destructive powers. An amazing combination, really. Shame she was attacking the city and was bent on causing chaos and misery wherever she went. Macaque finally reached the top and glowered at the demon before him, "Hello, Hui Ying." Hui turned around and bowed her head slightly, "Liu'Er. I expected Sun Wukong." Macaque glared at her, "Do not use my name so freely." She smirked, power surged as she took her kaiju form, "Or what, simian?" Wind whipped around the pair as Macaque grew as well, taking a huge shadow kaiju form wrapped in bandages with six glowing ears and two bright scars replacing the eyes. A glowing, fanged grin formed as the wind caused the bandages to flutter, "Come and find out."--
OKAY OKAY OKAY, THIS WAS A TERRIBLE IDEA!!
MK dodged another boulder, yelping. Mac was right he should've seriously stayed home!!Suddenly a chunk of the mountain was lifted, and a glowing orange-red clawed hand grabbed him, "I knew there was a presence here..." She opened her mouth, absorbed the staff's magic, and dropped the brunette monkey, pinning him with the staff.
"MK!!"
The purple kaiju roared as he threw himself against Hui Ying, sending her back. The mountain shook, and MK panicked. He wrapped his hands around the staff and pushed frantically, memories of the lessons with the hammer resurfaced. He breathed in deeply, ignoring the tremor shaking the ground. "Step into the strike!!" He pushed, straining his arms to throw his staff off. Macaque suddenly shrank, returning to his normal form as the staff grew in size and slammed into Hui Ying, sending her back with a pained screech. The mountain started crumbling, and Macaque ran towards MK in a panic, following the boy's frantic heartbeat, "MK DUCK!!" He shielded the boy as a chunk of mountain crumbled down, and dust bellowed out. The duo coughed violently but remained mostly unharmed. "I am sooo glad I'm alive!" Macaque nodded against MK's head, "Me too. And I'm telling Wukong.""Aw, mannn..."--Wukong sat up in bed, cheeks flushed from his fever as he glared at his student, "You seriously went after a kaiju?! That is SO STUPID, YOU COULD'VE GOTTEN KILLED!!" MK flinched slightly and bowed his head, "I know. I'm sorry...I just wanted to be good enough..." Wukong fiddled with his loose hair and sighed, "You're enough, MK. Trust me, you are so much more than enough, you're more than perfect, more than just simply amazing. You are the best person to be my successor. I'm sorry I shouted, I just...""I don't want to lose you, kid."MK sniffled, hugging Wukong, "I know you're sick, but that deserves a hug." Wukong hugged back, and the crushing sadness in his chest melted away a little, but enough for him to crack a genuine smile. A monster didn't bring smiles, receive hugs, or carried out violence simply because that was all they knew and not for fun. Wukong came to a conclusion.Maybe he wasn't such a monster after all...

----- CHAPTER BREAK -----

MK and Wukong waltzed into Pigsy's Noodles, chattering away happily. As usual, they were trailing dust and debris. MK looked up and gasped, "Woah, what the heck happened here?!" Wukong looked around at the mess and grinned wrily, "Now they can't bathe me." "Think again, musty!" The gang emerged, dressed in super cool outfits. MK blinked in surprise, "Cool outfits, but uh, what happened..?" Wukong sighed, "Dammit." Tang pushed up his glasses, "Well after you left, the Bull Clones attacked. But they were different, more powerful than before. We believe it's all tied back to the Demon Bull King himself. MK, he's conquered everything." Wukong moved towards one of the windows, peering out with his gold vision. MK simply continued with the conversation, "So where's DBK?" Mei shrugged and Sandy pointed outside, "We're not sure. But, there are pretty scary noises coming from the mountain." Wukong's red eyes flickered out and he nodded, "Yup. That, and some strange energy..." Mei leaned in, "How strange?" Pigsy glared at the monkey, "You're hiding something, aren't you?" Wukong scoffed loudly, "No, I have a small hint of what it is but I swear I'm not sure! It's something I've been sensing for a while now, something from back when I was on the fucking Journey To The West." Pigsy blinked slowly, "Oh. Good, then. So is it deadly or just funky?" Wukong stared at the mountain again, feeling the tense magic in the air. "I...don't know."--DBK was watching the security footage, beaming with pride, "With this power, even the Great Sage cannot stop me!" Red Son nodded in delight, "Yes, Father. We have finally taken our rightful place as the rulers of the city!" The feed suddenly cut off and presented footage of MK and the team heading for their base. DBK's grin widened, "Monkey King?! Come to take me, bind me? I will not let that simian abomination triumph again! I will take them all down!" --MK, Mei, and Wukong inch toward the crater and peered into the darkness. Well, dark if it weren't for the eery magic at the end. Pigsy, Tang, and Sandy immediately took it upon themselves to beat up Bull Clones while Mei, MK, and Wukong went down. Yayyyy...Wukong hopped down, using his cloud to catch himself and the two younger heroes. Mei sighed contently, "It's sooo soft, ughhh!" MK grinned, "I know, right?" Wukong hushed them, "Focus, kiddies." They swiftly landed below, sneaking around the machinery.Wukong spotted the camera footage and grimaced, "Ugh, they're like you, Mei." Mei puffed her cheeks, "Yeah, well, so?!" A deep roar rang out and the three heroes stiffened as DBK presented himself, "I WILL NOT BE DEFEATED!!" Wukong threw his body over Mei and MK, shielding them from the Bull King's 'tantrum'. Red Son snickered, "Father, allow me to help in--" DBK's eyes suddenly showed a bright eery blue and he cackled, "You? HELP?! When you have brought me NOTHING but FAILURE TIME AND TIME AGAIN!!" The orange monkey narrowed his eyes at the canisters on DBK's back and inhaled sharply. Red Son bowed his head, hurt by the words their father was sputtering.A voice whispered, "Traitor...traitor...he is a traitor...""What! Traitor?! Yes...yes..." Wukong narrowly managed to snatch Red Son, shoving him behind his body. MK and Mei watched in pure horror as the Bull King bashed down the spot his own son was before being pulled away. Wukong swallowed thickly, "Okay, the magic is 'deadly' kind of strange. Kids, listen to me very carefully. Hide." Red Son sputtered, "That is my father--" Monkey King cut him off with a desperate look, "Listen, kinda-nephew, I truly do not hate you. Please, for your safety, fucking hide." The trio hid just as the wind started whirling. "ANOTHER TRAITOR?!" PIF appeared, a stern expression on her face, "You are not well, my love! That magic has poisoned your mind!" More whispers filtered out, "Working...with the MONKEY KING!!" He threw down his fists, in an attempt to bring down his wife and the Monkey King. Wukong called out, "You kids wanna help?! Strike while we distract!!" DBK suddenly snatched the monkey, smirking, "I will crush you..." --Sun Wukong knew very well what love was.He loved Macaque. He loved the kids.He still loves his ex-bond brother. He loves the team.He would do anything for them, all of them. He never meant to gain a title like 'Savage King', it wasn't his fault he was so unpredictable. He was the scapegoat, the reason terror and misery existed. He knew his powers made him deadly, that was why he was the Jade Emperor's leashed weapon until Guanyin freed him from the Fillet out of mercy. She knew he was not at fault, as did he. But that didn't mean he didn't feel guilty. He wasn't stupid nor blind, he knew very well why the team was so hesitant and wary of him. And in return, he was rude and cold towards them at first, snapping and acting violent whenever they interacted. He remembered the way he wanted to punt them across the world for the smallest inconveniences, and he was pretty peeved that Macaque made him spend time with them. Now was different. Now he would do anything for them.Including letting his mind-controlled ex-bond brother crush him as a distraction.--PIF spoke out with a disturbed cry, "My love, please, do not crush someone you care for!" DBK growled, "I CARE NOTHING FOR THE SIMIAN!!" His fist closed around Wukong, who was spitting up blood and simply decided not to breathe anymore. It wasn't like he needed to, anyway. His ribs were definitely crushed. MK and Mei yelled out, knocking and slashing the canaster off of the Bull King. Red Son set fire to the Demon King's surroundings, dissipating whatever was left of the icy magic in him while also blinding him. DBK roared, dropping the injured Monkey King. Wukong groaned and MK quickly dragged him away with his strength, "Ohmigoshohmigoshohmigosh!!" PIF yelped, "THIS PLACE IS CAVING IN!!" DBK blinked slowly, "What...happened..?" Red Son hugged his father's arm, "It was that stupid magic!" PIF hugged her husband as well, "Yes, now we need to get out of here."She looked over at Mei and MK with the injured monkey and pursed her lips before wordlessly teleporting them all away as the lair came crashing down.--DBK groaned, "Did I..." He gestured at Wukong's state, and MK glared up at him. Mei stood between them, arms shaking, "You seriously have some nerve! Acting all sheepish and shit!!" Red Son hesitantly spoke up, "Father was...unwell." MK glared at the bull prince, baring his fangs, "Yeah?! Well if it weren't for your dad's power greed this wouldn't have happened!" Wukong suddenly gurgled, spitting up more blood, "Ew. Kids, is fine, m'good." Mei dropped down and scooted over, "No you're not! You're hurt!" The rest of the team arrived, grimacing at the monkey's state. "What happened?" MK didn't bother trying to look tough and cried, "H-he got crushed so we could stop possessed DBK!!" Wukong smiled warily, and much to everybody's horror, stated, "No regrets. 10/10 would do again." He coughed harshly and groaned, "Ew." PIF shook her head, "Oh, what am I going to tell Mihou? My possessed husband injured his partner and he's self-destructive! Great!" Pigsy sputtered, "What? Wait, you talk to Macaque? PARTNER-?!" Wukong coughed again, "S'prize!" --Okay, so that could've gone off better.MK and Mei basically yelled and screeched at the Bull Family until they left. Cool, cool, now Wukong had a bigger headache. Cool. And Macaque was currently sobbing with the kids while Sandy and Pigsy bandaged him up. Not cool. And Tang was, uh, holding stuff for the medics..? He couldn't really tell. "Peaches, what the fuck do they mean self-destructive?! You can't treat yourself like this!!" Wukong lazily patted Macaque, "M'Immortal. So it's fine. Besides, it's only my ribs!" MK sobbed harder, "That was way too cheerful!!" Pigsy and Sandy let go finished with Wukong's ribs. Wukong touched them tenderly, feeling the cracks, "And I heal fast, kid, I'll be dandy." Mei sniffled, "Still not okay! You also used yourself like a shield! That I understand better, but why didn't you get out of DBK's hand?!" "Because--" I deserve it.Wukong didn't utter another word. Pigsy rose an eyebrow, "Because what?" Wukong stayed silent, fiddling with his hair, "...because. Because I didn't want to hurt him, or you guys. I'm dangerous, I hurt. I didn't want to hurt."
All I do is attack, destroy, and

kill.

I am unmerciful and deadly.

Macaque sighed, gently hugging Wukong, "Don't let yourself get so severely injured like that again. Immortal or not, don't do that." The rusty-furred monkey stayed silent. His counterpart's eyebrows furrowed, "Wukong, promise." Wukong didn't say a word."...We are not done with this conversation."MK and Mei joined in the gentle hug, "I wish you'd promise us you won't do it again, we care about you ya dummy!" Wukong smiled softly, "I know. But I care, too, so if I can protect you... I will."
No matter what happens to me.
--
The spirit whispered, muttered, trailing around for a host.

Quick, quick, before she disappears!
"Here, kitty! Oh, you always do this! Come on!" A little girl. Dark, straight hair. Fair, soft skin. The only thing missing was the blue eyes the spirit had when she was alive, instead, the child had warm, honey-brown eyes. But it wasn't something a little possession wouldn't fix.

Perfect.
