Gaz took his wins easy. One by one, the recruits left the sparring mat as soon as they came, Gaz finding each one easier than the last. Were they even trying? Where was the challenge? He admired them though, they reminded him of himself. As a new recruit stepped off the mat, another one took his place. That’s when he noticed an all too familiar figure making its way through the gym. The beaten recruits shuffled to the side to make way for him, Gaz stared him down as he made his way to the mat.Gaz knew better. He knew that he knew better. So it hit him as a surprise when he felt a kick to his sides that had him bracing the floor on all fours. The guy standing over him extended a hand to help him up and Gaz took it, hauling himself up to his feet. He just needed to be more careful. As time went on, Gaz could feel the stares burning into his skin as they all watched him get knocked down over and over. He was becoming sloppy, and Gaz didn’t do sloppy. He could feel his skin crawl as one man in particular burned holes into his back, making its presence known. It was Ghost.“Getting a little careless there, Sergeant?” His voice echoed through the room as the recruits went silent. “Want me to show you how it’s done?”Gaz didn’t know what he would be getting himself into. Ghost was easily 3 times bigger than he was. He could pin Gaz easily without needing to break a sweat. What was he playing at?“Come on, big boy, show me what you got.”It was like a flame lit up in Ghost’s head. He felt eyes darting back at him, waiting for a response. He simply stepped onto the mat and approached Gaz, eyes locking into his. He could hear Gaz heavy breathing, the sight brought amusement to him as his eyes narrowed with a smirk.“Careful, Sergeant, I wouldn’t wanna embarrass you in front of all of them.”Ghost took a step back and took his stance, staring down Gaz again like a hunter with his prey. Gaz was in for a treat.Once they began, Ghost moved, well, like a ghost. For a man of his size, Gaz didn’t expect him to be so light on his feet. Every hit came as a surprise as Gaz tried his best to keep up. He blocked every hit he possibly could, but when Ghost faked a hit, he took the opportunity to swipe Gaz off his feet with a kick. Gaz fell hard to the ground, Ghost immediately coming on top of him to straddle and pin him in place.“Aw, come on, Sergeant, you can do better than that.” Ghost scoffed, his eyes capturing Gaz’s face. His face was flushed and angry. But most of all, embarrassed. He practically signed his life away in accepting to spar with Ghost. It had only been 4 minutes and he was already breathless and pinned under him.“Get the fuck off of me, Ghost.” He fought to get free of Ghost’s restraint, trying to wiggle out from under him, but Ghost wouldn’t budge.“You forgot to ask nicely.” Was he fucking serious? In front of the recruits? That earned him a couple of laughs. His face flushed again as he tried to turn his head away from prying eyes. Soon after a couple seconds for what felt like hours, Gaz spoke.“Please…”“Good boy.” That earned him two pats across the face as Ghost stood up and towered over him, extending his arm out in front of him for Gaz to take. He almost couldn’t believe what just happened. He’d be the laughing stock of the recruits.Gaz stomped out of the gym, leaving Ghost behind. He couldn’t look at him after he embarrassed himself in front of a crowd. After a shower, Gaz tucked himself into his room, shutting all the lights off and sat there on his bed thinking over what happened earlier. Had he really been so sloppy that Ghost took matters into his own hands? Did he really bail after one match? Gaz wasn’t just embarrassed that he had been pinned by Ghost when he challenged him, but he was embarrassed because he let himself get so distracted. He was embarrassed he let himself give up because in front of Ghost, in front of everyone. He could go plenty of other times with anyone, but coming up against Ghost had been stupid considering it was literally Ghost, and he let himself be distracted by him. He was embarrassed he couldn’t keep it down enough to focus on his task instead of the thing right in front of him that had been torturing him for weeks. He couldn't believe it for himself no matter how many times he seemed to go over it. A knock to the door snapped him out of his deep thought. The door swung open and a dark figure took its place, the light from outside blocking out his entire frame.“You forgot your sweatshirt back there.” He walked in, shut the door, and approached the sergeant slowly, every step echoing through the room. He stopped right in front of Gaz, his head hung low. With a hand to his chin, Ghost pulled his head up, his eyes staring right into Gaz’s. “Eyes up, Sergeant.”Gaz jerked his head away from Ghost’s grip, earning him a scoff from the lieutenant. Gaz had been through rigorous training of his own. He never let himself falter. He’d been against plenty of people before. None of that ever phased him. He put his heart into everything he’s ever done, so why was this any different?“Listen, Kyle,” the mention of his name made his head perk up a little, “I need to know where your head’s at.”My mind is full of you, that’s the fuckin’ problem!, he thought to himself. The thought made him jerk his head back a bit. Wait a minute, what?Gaz began to put the pieces together. He’d been on edge for weeks in Ghost’s presence. Every time Ghost would approach him, he’d move to the side, occasionally placing himself next to Soap. He’d been avoiding being so close to him because the pounding in his chest made it impossible for him to focus around him. So it shouldn’t have struck him as a surprise that the moment Ghost’s piercing stare makes its way into Gaz’s line of vision, he gets knocked straight on his ass.“Sergeant.” The tone in his voice is stern, commanding. Gaz forced himself to look up at him, then standing face to face with the skull balaclava that covered Ghost’s face.“I was doin’ just fine. My head’s on straight.” He couldn’t believe that. His head was swimming with thoughts of just Ghost every single time he saw him. “Just a little tired is all.” Bullshit.Gaz meant to walk past him, to the door and out. Out of the base, some fresh air at least. God, he was suffocating.Ghost’s arm shot up and held him tight. Gaz’s head shot back, back into Ghost’s dark eyes that searched him for something. Anything.“Fuck, Ghost, let me go.”“The fuck is up with you?”“You! Fuck, that’s what’s up with me.” Gaz’s eyes narrowed as they focused in on Ghost’s. There was smudged black paint over his eyes. His eyes upturned in confusion. Gaz felt so small.“I…” He thought about how to go about this in a way that won’t get him punched, or kicked off the team. How else would his Lieutenant react to what was basically a confession? “I can’t get you out of my head.”Ghost stood there, watching, waiting. He waited for Gaz to continue, but when he didn’t, he dropped his head. “Gaz—““Wait, damnit, give me a moment. I don’t know how to say any of this…But, I haven’t been able to focus because of you. Every goddamn moment, you’re right there.”“That’s my job—““No, not like that. I…” Gaz didn’t know what else to say. Ghost’s grip on his arm loosened. Ghost was so close, when did he get so close? “Sorry, can you… Can you take—“Without a moment to spare Ghost tugged off the mask. His hair sticking up in awkward positions, a few strands stuck to his forehead. Faded scars ran along his face like a map, tracing his features with careful precision. His full lips slightly parted, he spoke.“Then what, Kyle? Use your words.”Gaz froze in place. Initially, he had wanted Ghost to take a step back. He was way too fucking close for comfort. So, he didn’t exactly know why he grabbed Ghost’s head and slammed his mouth onto his. Sirens rang in Gaz’s head to back up, to stop, to run away. His mind sent him so many signals at once. He ignored every single one.See, Gaz thought he needed to stop because if he didn’t, he’d see his ass back in his London flat with his bags and off the team. But when he felt Ghost’s lips shift to fit over his, he let those thoughts bury themselves in the back of his mind to be forgotten.Ghost kissed him back and it felt right. Fuck feeling right, it felt so good. Gaz’s mind went blank the moment Ghost dropped his arm to Gaz’s waist, holding him and backing him up against the wall.“You’re driving me insane. I don’t know how to read you at all.”“And maybe that’s for the better.” Gaz shut him up with another kiss, slowly drawing out breathy sighs from him.Ghost didn’t understand how Gaz could go from fighting, to losing, then completely irresistible. He had thrown the man on his ass, now he’s in his room, caught in his grasp. Gaz never said much, but God, did he owe him an explanation. It’ll come eventually. Or not.“Where do you think this is going to lead?”“Will you shut up?”There were two sides to this. As his Lieutenant, he should stop this immediately, write him up. But as Ghost, just Ghost, he didn’t want to. He’d rather stay and make out with Gaz and his soft lips.Gaz’s mouth fell open as he felt Ghost’s knee slot itself in between his thighs. As soon as Gaz felt himself grind against his thigh, there was a knock to his door.“Garrick, meetin’ in five.” Price’s voice broke through the space between them, footsteps fading away from the door. They both froze in place, pulling apart to stare at each other. Gaz’s eyes glazed over as Ghost stared at him, his eyes half lidded staring down at Gaz’s lips.Gaz heard himself whine just slightly as Ghost pulled away and slid the mask over his head. Ghost didn’t really want to leave him high and dry, but they couldn’t stay longer. At least not now.“C’mon, Sergeant, Captain’s orders.”
----- CHAPTER BREAK -----
"Gaz…Garrick. Garrick? KYLE!”That woke him up, lifting him out of his trance.
Price had been beside him while Ghost and Soap sat right in front of him. They both stared at him down from across the table. What were they even talking about?"Did you catch any of that?""No, uh… Sorry, sir.." Gaz shook his head, rubbing both of his eyes with the palms of his hands. "Could you repeat that?""I'd rather not. Where's your head today, sergeant?"Price gives him the file. "Look it over, read it. That's our next mark.” He stands up and pats his shoulder, shaking his head, “Get some rest, son.”Price walks out as Soap takes a seat beside Gaz.“You alright, Gaz?” Gaz doesn’t know if he should lie or stay quiet. Ghost has looked away from him for a moment, studying one of his knives. That’s the same man he had just been making out with not 30 minutes ago. How could he be alright?“I’m good.” He knew that was a lie, but there wasn’t much else he could say. He knew Soap didn’t buy it either, but he got up and left the room too. It was just the two of them again.Ghost had put his knife back into its sheath, then got up and walked over to where Gaz was sitting and bent over.“You let me know if this was a mistake. I need you focused, I can’t have you fucking this up.”His words stung, but Gaz knew how important this was to all of them, so he took Ghost’s words to his mind. He’d been holed up in his room for hours now looking over the file. He’d never been this off before. He looked it over once, twice. He couldn’t focus and it was fucking him up badly. He needed to let off some steam. If he went for a walk, he’d probably encounter someone and he really didn’t want to see anyone. The thought of going back to the gym to get a couple of punches in didn’t seem so bad.He changes into shorts and his hoodie from earlier. It was cold out and the gym was across the base. He shoves a water bottle and a towel as well as a change of clothes and hand wraps into his gym bag and then heads out.The lights are all off when he gets there. He hadn’t noticed how late it had been, flicking his wrist to view his watch. It was 10 P.M. and everyone had already gone back to their quarters. He can finally be on his own.Or so he thought. As he made his way into the darkness of the gym trying to find the on switch, he heard something shift. He thought to ignore it, but once he flips the switch, he sees Ghost steadying a punching bag. Was this a fucking joke?He thought about ignoring him. He really did. He really fucking did, but of course he couldn’t. How could he? Before he came in, Ghost was using the punching bag, on his own, in the fucking dark. He almost wanted to laugh, but the shudder that ran down his body at the thought stopped him before he could. Had it been anyone else, he would’ve been confused, but he could’ve expected this from Ghost. With all the lights off, he guessed Ghost had already learned the layout of the gym, sneaking his way through the space. Gaz stood there, not moving an inch.“Up late, sergeant?” Ghost strikes the punching bag, causing it to sway to the sides. The chain above it rattled violently, echoing through the gym.“Couldn’t sleep. Thought I’d get a few punches in beforehand.” Gaz pulls out the wraps and starts winding them around his hands and wrist.“Down for another spar? I can’t promise I’ll take it easy on you.”Gaz thought about it for a split second before he made his way to the mat, discarding his hoodie behind him. He knew he couldn’t redeem himself from earlier, but he didn’t feel like giving up again.Ghost stepped onto the mat, abandoning the punching bag. Gaz found himself staring at the plain black balaclava he wore, different from the skull print one he wore in Gaz’s room. Everything seemed so unreal that Gaz had to think back on whether or not they had actually kissed or if it was just Gaz and his wishful thinking. Ghost seemed so…Calm. That’s how Ghost fought, too. He was calm and calculated, so much like Gaz, but unlike Gaz, Ghost appeared to be only focused on what they were doing. Gaz was strong and smart; He knew how to take what he had learned and apply it immediately. When Ghost faked a hit, he was quick to block the blow to his side that followed.“Picking up my attacks, Gaz?” Ghost’s voice rang in his ears, deep and calming. Gaz had to remind himself that he could speak.“I picked up a thing or two,” Gaz flashes a smile, his canines peeking through, “For example—“Gaz kicked his side while Ghost blocked his hits. He let out a small huff as Gaz watched his eyes upturn. Was that a smile?“Getting good, Garrick…Hit me again.”Gaz threw his punches quickly, striking Ghost on his core. Ghost recovered quickly though, reciprocating the blows almost immediately after Gaz made them. He tried to hit Gaz head on, but Gaz dodged most of the hits coming close to his face. Gaz then took the opportunity to strike Ghost across the face, taking a step back. He saw Ghost stagger a bit before backing up.“Fuckin’ Hell,” Ghost pulled his mask down slightly to reveal the soft curves of his lips coated with blood, spitting out the blood in his mouth, “I’m gonna need my tongue, y’know.”His tongue. The one that licked into Gaz’s mouth hours ago. It was gone as soon as it came, Ghost tugging his mask up again.“Of course you do…” He wanted to say “I need it too,” but a kick to his core had him thinking twice about it. He needed it again.Ghost was fast, but Gaz was quick to catch up. As Ghost tried to kick his side again, Gaz grabbed onto his leg and threw him down, Ghost’s back slamming into the mat below them. Gaz was quick to get on him as he kept Ghost’s leg mounted on his shoulder while the other one pinned his chest down. Gaz was panting hard, his face flushed. He was finally able to pin Ghost down. He hadn’t noticed, but at some point he began to have a nosebleed, wet streaks of blood coating his wrist as he wiped it away.Ghost was panting softly below him. He made no effort to move out of Gaz’s grip, but watched the blood drip down his face and to his lips, staining both his chest along with Ghost’s shirt. Ghost reached his head up to touch Gaz’s face, his head jerking back a bit before letting Ghost touch him.“You’re getting better, careful…” Gaz sniffled above him, leaning into his touch, “I wouldn’t want your pretty face to get fucked up.”He dropped Ghost’s leg beside him. The sound of his voice alone sent a shudder down his spine, causing his hips to jerk forward. He called me pretty.Ghost’s other hand came up to Gaz's face, wiping away the blood above his lips. Ghost must’ve felt him shift too, pushing his hips upward into Gaz.“God, you’re bleeding all over yourself.” His eyes flicked down to Gaz’s chest, shiny with his blood. Ghost pushed himself up and held Gaz in place, his hands moving from his face to his sides. He didn’t even move his mask before kissing Gaz’s blood soaked chest. The blood painted his mask, spreading and seeping through the fabric and onto his face. Gaz almost forgot how to breathe and tipped his head up, the blood from his nose drying on his top lip.Ghost tipped Gaz’s face to look at him, pulling his mask down to plant a kiss onto Gaz’s soft lips. His blood was on Ghost’s lips. His.“Ghost, wait—” Ghost took the opportunity to lick his lips and kiss him again as Gaz opened his mouth to him. He stayed there, savoring the metallic taste between them. It was soon gone as they deepened the kiss, Gaz’s hands came up to Ghost’s neck to steady himself. He can feel himself burning hot with Ghost’s hands on him. When he tilted his head to the side, he pressed his hips downward again.“Ghost, please…Take it off. Take this off…” He trailed off as he tugged on the hem of Ghost’s shirt. “I wanna feel you.”“Awfully needy thing, aren’t you?”“No talking, just do it.” Gaz panted softly, still recovering from their kiss.“Demanding, too.”Gaz knocked his forehead into Ghost’s. He felt so desperate he couldn’t believe himself. He can’t think, even now, because this was actually happening and it isn’t some insane fever dream he had. Ghost had been tormenting his every thought for weeks. In the field, Ghost had his back, occasionally placing his hand on his shoulder. Ghost watched over him from rooftops as he and Price would work on their mission. His voice would echo through Gaz’s earpiece, making his ears burn when the commands came. He doesn’t think he’s ever been in this position in all of his years in the military, every emotion coming and creeping up on him. The slightest bit of attention from Ghost riddled him with excitement. He watched as Ghost stripped himself from his shirt and discarded it to the side. The dim overhead lights illuminated his pale chest. He was full of scars and wounds, bruises and gashes that haven’t quite healed over yet. The tattoos that trailed over his body made Gaz chuckle. The skulls that covered his body really pulled the whole “Ghost” thing together. Still, he admired them as he trailed his hands over them.Gaz reaches up, waiting for permission, a sign for him to know it was okay to take his mask off. When Ghost’s eyes flutter shut, he slips the mask off of his face. Ghost’s damp hair stuck to his scalp. He looked cute.“You’re real pretty too, Simon.”“It’s Simon now?”Gaz flicks his eyes up to meet Ghost’s. They’re half lidded, his blonde lashes barely visible in the low light.“You hide your pretty face well.”Ghost blinked up at him, grabbing his face and pressing his lips on Gaz’s. Gaz tried to hide the groan that escaped from his throat. He placed his hand on Ghost’s neck, pulling him further in. Ghost dropped his hands to Gaz’s thighs, allowing his hands to trail up Gaz’s shorts. He gripped his thighs hard, pressing him into himself.Ghost was hard against Gaz. Gaz didn’t know how long they would be able to keep this up. He wished he could read Ghost’s mind, to be able to know what he thinks and what he wants. He wished he could keep Ghost to himself, but he knew Ghost didn’t belong to anyone. He felt Ghost grind up to him, chasing some friction. Gaz pressed down into him, earning him a groan from Ghost.“Mmm, keep going, Kyle.” Ghost trailed kisses over his neck, the dried blood rubbing away with the motions of his tongue. Gaz couldn’t handle staying still anymore as he rocked his hips back and forth onto Ghost. He felt like a dog in heat chasing his own high. The feeling of Ghost rocking along with him made his mind short circuit.“Pick up the pace, Simon...” He felt so needy, the whine in his voice made him clench his teeth in embarrassment. He wanted It so badly he could hardly think straight. “It’s not enough.”Ghost took that as an invitation to flip them over, Gaz’s back slapping against the mat below them. The pain from the fight earlier was still evident as he jerked to the side. Despite the pain he felt, he needed way more than Ghost was giving him.“Be a good boy for me, don’t make a sound.” Gaz slowly propped himself up to see Ghost better as he ran his hands down Gaz’s body. His rough hands trailed down his chest to his navel and over his clothed cock. Gaz had to bite his lips to chase off the sound he wanted to make. The gym soon filled with echoes of Ghost’s soft grunts as he pressed and rocked onto Gaz. He gripped Gaz’s sides to steady himself as he thrusted into him. Gaz covered his mouth with his wrist, residue of his blood still on it. He needed to feel him, to feel his skin on him, but Ghost wasn’t going to give that to him now.“Good boy, Kyle, you’re holding up better than I expected.” He teased Gaz for a sound, something to make him break. Gaz tilted his head away and shut his eyes hard, trying to fend off his undeniable arousal at being called a pet name.“Look at me or it’s hands off.”Gaz snapped his head back at Ghost. Look at me or it’s hands off? Gaz couldn’t have him stop now. He was so close. Gaz’s half lidded eyes almost flutter shut at the rocking of Ghost on him, but he wanted his release, so he forced himself to stare into Ghost’s eyes. He’d been told not to make a sound, not to look away when that’s exactly what he wanted to do. He couldn’t take it anymore as he hooked a leg behind Ghost in order to force him closer. He bit his lip to stop the moan wanting to leave his mouth.“So needy. Are you close?” Gaz nodded his head frantically, his mouth falling open before closing it again.Ghost picked up the pace as he rutted into Gaz, desperate for his own release too. He could feel exactly when Gaz let go, the violent shudder under Ghost followed by a whine from Gaz. He wanted to be quiet, but it was too much.“Have you been pent up? Is that what this is about?” WHAT? No!“Even after this, you think I’m only using you to wank off?” Gaz jerked his head to the side again, his eyebrows perked up in question. He was still recovering from his own orgasm to move away.“You’re so needy for attention I figured all you needed was to come.”Gaz grabbed his head and dragged it down, kissing him again, dragging his tongue over his lips. He reeled Ghost in close, feeling Ghost still hard up against him.“It’s way more than me just needing a helping hand…” He gripped Ghost’s cock through his sweats. “Why don’t I help you out then?”“Kyle, I can take care of it.” He took a hold of Gaz’s wrist, trying to pry his hand away, but Gaz wasn’t letting him go.“Come for me, Simon.” He kissed up Ghost’s neck, his pale neck was flushed. Ghost didn’t say it, but he liked when Gaz took matters into his own hands. Seeing him so disoriented earlier that day had surprised him, so he enjoyed being able to see Gaz in control of himself. His determination reminded him of himself.Ghost’s hips stuttered against Gaz when he finally released. They both had a wet spot on their pants, making a mess of themselves. Gaz looked down and laughed when he noticed them.“C’mon Kyle, we have to go.” He pried himself off of Gaz, already looking around for his shirt.Gaz wished they’d stay together again, even just a little longer just so Ghost could calm down from just having come on himself.“Simon… I don’t just want this to be a one time thing.” He said finally sitting up on the mat. He crossed his legs and looked up at Ghost who was now putting his shirt back on.“We’ll see how well you keep up. Show me how good you really are.” Ghost walks towards him again, bending down to place a kiss straight into his curls. “I trust you won’t disappoint me.”With that, he leaves the gym, leaving Gaz alone again. Gaz was determined to keep Ghost’s company so he wouldn’t allow himself to give up. Ghost had given him a taste of himself, he didn't want to let that go so easily, not when he was already so attached.
