There were so many people Chishiya didn't care about, but when he came upon someone like Arisu, that's where the pity grew into a pit.
He decided to catch him before he wandered off to another game. He seemed determined like everyone else, although…a little different. He knew the dangers, and everyone else…they only saw the fun.
"Arisu."
He turned, surprised to see Chishiya. "Oh, it's been awhile, where have you been?"
"Here and there," Chishiya said with a shrug. "I want to give you some…advice, maybe it's more of a warning, take it as you want."
"Uh, okay," Arisu said, confused.
Chishiya hated feeling pity for people.
"The White Rabbit is a messenger of the Red Queen."
Arisu frowned. "I don't know what you mean."
Chishiya sighed, glancing around for his friend before looking back at Arisu. "Beware of your loyalties, you don't know if the ones you're with will be exactly what you hoped."
Arisu seemed to know what he meant, and his shoulders slumped. "I can trust Usagi, like I trust you."
Oh, how pitiful.
Chishiya smiled sadly. "You really shouldn't trust me."
"Arisu!"
The second his gaze turned away from Chishiya so he can greet Usagi who was making her way through the crowd.
Chishiya was gone, disappearing into the crowd in hopes he can find his own dire companion, Kunia, so they can figure out the next steps to their plan for the Hatter, and the Beach.
