Ash looks around with a smile, so far, it’s been a really good day. There haven’t been any super-horrific fights in recent times (About a week). So, things are pretty swell, in his opinion. He’s just here, eating a tuna sandwich, and having a good time.Yet something is off, he can feel it. It’s like that feeling when he knows there’s a deadite somewhere, but he can’t seem to find it. It’s like dread, but…He’s felt it for about, what, two days at this point, maybe three? And the thing is, it has something to do with you, but he’s watched you, and he hasn’t seen a singular sign of a deadite taking control of you. It’s just, something, something’s off, and he’s going to find out what, but first:Tuna sandwich.Once he’s done with his tuna sandwich, he’ll figure it out once he’s done…He takes two more bites, finally finishing the sandwich. He stands up from the kitchen table and goes over to the garbage can. “ Could’ve been better,” He mumbles to himself, opening the garbage can. Now he ca–
Wait.
His eyes widen, well, there’s his answer. And it sure as hell ain’t a good one. If anything, it just confuses him more.He reaches into the garbage and pulls out your favorite stuffie, your blanket, your sippy, hell, everything! He sets the empty paper plate down on the table and starts pulling stuff out of the trash, before cleaning it off and setting it on the counter. As he cleans, he tries to figure out how to deal with this. Hopefully, it’s just a big misunderstanding, but that doesn’t seem likely.Once the objects are clean and in the bag, he goes over to your shared room.“[Name]?” He knocks on the door, trying to sound like he didn’t just find–that. You let out a noise, “ Oh, what’s up?” you ask, still a bit shaken from prior events. He opens the door and starts to speak, “What’s this?” He asks, raising the bag to show it to you.You freeze as your stomach drops. How did he find–“I’m not mad, I’m just asking,” Ash puts his hands up slightly. You feel yourself start to shake as tears well in your eyes. God, you should’ve hid them better–or put something over the things!“Hey, it’s alright, just talk to me,” Ash says softly, walking over to sit down next to you.Your eyes flicker around the room, “I…I’m sorry,” you pull your knees up to your chest.“Nothing to apologize for, now, what’s going on?” Ash reiterates, looking down at you in a sweet way. There’s a moment of silence before you speak, “Ash…are you ever embarrassed about…what we have?”“What do you mean?” Ash asks, genuinely bewildered at the thought of being ashamed of his little boy.“Like…don’t you ever feel embarrassed to be taking care of some stupid baby? You’re my Dada, but do you ever–just–isn’t it embarrassing, disgusting, aren’t you uncomfortable?” You ramble, tears running down your cheeks.“No, of course not. Why would I be embarrassed about taking care of such an adorable little boy?” He reaches over to ruffle your hair, but you pull away.“But, Ash, you’re a badass who spends all his time fighting demons–and you’re super cool! Why would you want to be with somebody who acts like a stupid baby? Don’t you think I’m disgusting? Don’t you think I’m–” You look up at him with a tear-filled expression.“Oh [Name],” Ash says softly, gently cutting you off. “I don’t think you’re disgusting, I promise. You’re a sweet little boy, and I swear I don’t find anything about you or your regression weird or off-putting or disgusting–If you’re asking me, I love when you regress.” He gives you a reassuring nod as he speaks. " I need you to know that no matter what I'll always be there for you, okay?"You scoot closer to him, “Really?”“Really,” He says with a smile. "Y'know what I think? I think that you feeling safe enough to be vulnerable with me is the most badass thing I've seen this week,"You smile and lay there for a moment, taking in all the softness as your head lays on his shoulder before you hear an oh-so-familiar hum.You cuddle into him and let out a soft little mumble.“Feelin’ small?” Ash asks. You shake your head, trying to push the feeling down like you’ve been doing for almost two weeks at this point.“Little guy, there’s no reason to lie,” Ash says, seeing right through your facade. You look around awkwardly.Ash pulls your favorite stuffie out of the bag, along with your paci, and slips them to you, “Don’t worry. They’re clean,”You smile up at him, wiping the last remnants of tears from your face. You slip the paci into your mouth and slowly lower your head to his lap. He starts to pet you, and you yawn.“It’s alright,” He says softly, “You comfy?”“M’hm,” You mumble, hugging the stuffie to your chest.“Groovy,” He chuckles, smiling as you cuddle into him. “ Love you, [Name],”“ Love you, Dada,” You smile back at him.
