Invitation to dinner
SENATOR HINO HAS JUST ANNOUNCED HIS ENGAGEMENT TO THE BEAUTIFUL FASH-ION DESIGNER MISS Saitō. THIS WILL BE THE SECOND MARRIAGE TO THE SENATOR WHOSE FIRST WIFE DIED MANY YEARS AGO.
AFTER HER DEATH HE BECAME AN EXAMPLE OF MOVING FORWARD BY GOING TO POLITICAL MEETINGS ONLY MONTHS AFTER HIS WIFE'S DEATH.
FROM HIS FIRST MARRIAGE SENATOR HINO HAS A DAUGHTER THAT HAS BEEN SO FAR FROM THE SPOTLIGHT THAT ALMOST NOTHING IS KNOWN ABOUT HER OR HER LIFE AND THE SENATOR WANTS TO STAY THAT WAY.
WHAT IS HE HIDING?
IS THE QUESTION MANY HAVE MADE DURING THE YEARS THAT HAVE GONE BY BUT NOW EVERYONE'S ATTENTION IS ON THE FUTURE WEDDING.
MISS Saitō STARTED HER CAREER YOUNG AND IS KNOWN FOR HER BEAUTY AND INTELLIGENCE SHE IS FIVE YEARS YOUNGER THAN THE SENATOR AND HAS LIVED A VERY FULL LIFE AND IS VERY ACTIVE IN CHARITY.
WE DO NOT KNOW IF SHE HAS MET THE SENATOR'S DAUGHTER WHO RUMOURS SAY SHE IS OTHER A GODDESS IN BEAUTY OR A TROLL AND WHAT THE SENATOR'S RELICISCVE DAUGHTER THINKS OF HER FATHER GETTING MARRIED.
This is the newspaper article that Rei Hino a beautiful twenty-one years old young woman woke up to.
When she read that she had wanted to scream but restrained herself as suddenly a pair of arms hugged her from behind and a pair of lips she knows all too well whispered into her ear:" Why are you, upset fire angel?"
She chuckled at the old nickname that he has been using since the time of the Silver Millennium and turned to look at a pair of blue-grey eyes she knew so well (she actually knew every part of his body better than she knew her own) filled with concern so she just handed her the newspaper without a word.
As the blond-haired Shitennou read the paper the Senshi of Mars continued staying in his arms" So your father is getting married I should say I'm not surprised with what you have told me about I can answer their question you are definitely as beautiful as the goddess you are Rei." she crushed their lips together and the little kiss took them to their bedroom.MEANWHILE IN A MANSION IN THE OUTSKIRTS OF THE CITY
Takashi Hino, his advisor Kaidou and Kaidou's wife and sons were eating breakfast with Akari (Light; Brightness) Saitō and her parents.
Takashi was a politician with black hair and brown eyes while Kaidou had really pale almost bleached blond hair and ice-blue eyes and the two of them despite their similar views on politics were complete opposites of each other in many regards.
Kaidou's wife was the daughter of another high-class politician from his circle of friends and co-workers and Takashi's party chose her for him and he had accepted, she was spoiled and her beauty extremely fake.
She had wavy red hair and reddish-brown eyes (this was the only original thing about her) she needed about two hours in a salon each week to become just a bit good looking not to even think about the time she needs when they have a party or something like had.
Together they have three children together all boys and after each pregnancy, she went to a plastic surgeon to remove the extra weight, and after the third son, she decided that she did-n't want any more children so she did an operation so she couldn't have any more children she never wanted children, in fact, she hated them but it was expected from her to have children so she did.
Akari was a completely different story she didn't have a breathtaking beauty but hers, in contrast, was real from the butterscotch-colored hair to her sparkling hazel.
She was quite kind and loved to help those less fortunate than her it was these qualities that had made Takashi fall in love with her.
Her parents have raised her not to be spoiled and they aren't so happy with her marriage to Takashi, they have heard the rumors surrounding him which she knew weren't true but his party wanted for him to appear that way no one but she knew the truth, something, not even his own daughter and despite her worries, he wanted to continue that way she didn't understand until he told her that he wanted his daughter to have a normal life.
Mr. Saitō is a big man with brown hair and hazel eyes, he was kind and caring and the most important things in life to him were his wife and children while Mrs. Saitō is a petite woman with butterscotch colored hair and sparkling blue eyes as her husband and daughter, she was kind and warm.
Chikao Saitō (A clever and wise individual) was reading the paper like he did every morning when a particular article caught his attention and suddenly, he asked:" Takashi why don't you invite your daughter to dinner with us?"
"She has a lot of work at the shrine I don't think she can take some time off. " he knew very well he was lying but he couldn't tell them he hadn't even informed her about the engagement he didn't want to disappoint her even more than he already has by telling her that he has fallen in love with someone else, she would just think that he is trying to replace her mother which wasn't true he loves his deceased wife a lot but he felt he was ready to move on from her memory.
"Nonsense I'm going to send a messenger for her so that she can know the correct time and place," said Aiko (love, affection)
"I could go and inform her if you'd like seeing as she knows me." Kaidou know he needed to convince her to behave and not embarrass the Senator, he started disliking her the moment she refused to become his mistress 'How dared she refuse me women have never said no to me.' thought Kaidou angrily.
"No, no, you won't have to a messenger will go and give her the invitation, it is better that way right Dad you could send a messenger?" Akari was very happy to meet her future stepdaughter she knew that his daughter was very important to her Takashi and her approval would mean a lot to her.A FEW DAYS LATER AT THE SHRINE.
The day was sunny and bright and the Hikawa Shrine looked as beautiful, and it was a very visited place even if to get to the top you needed to climb a lot of stairs but the view was breathtaking and so worth it most did it just for the view and the couple that took care of the shine everyone loved them and even if every girl was jealous of the woman in the relationship they knew that they were meant for each other and each of them dreamt for a relationship like the one they had.
The shrine was surrounded by flowers, trees, and greens but the most beautiful part of the garden was the big pond surrounded by Casablanca lilies, Sasanqua, Hydrangea, and Waterlilies which floated in the water. The water itself was clearer than a mirror and cold to the touch.
The flowers represented the inner Senshi (I don't know if these are their favorite flowers. I just read somewhere that they are) and in the middle of the lake, there was a marble statue of their prince and princess whose base was covered with the Shitennou name stones.
'Beautiful.' was the thought going through the messenger's (that was carrying a message for Rei Hino) head at what he saw he really would return again just for the view.
His attention was removed from the view when he saw a beautiful young woman with long black hair that had a slight purple tint to them, she was wearing red and white Miko robes and red earrings and she was swiping.
He approached her and in a polite voice asked: "I'm sorry to bother you, Miko but can you tell me where Miss Rei Hino is?"
She turned around and his breath got caught in his throat from her beauty but the thing that got his attention was her amazing purple eyes" I'm Rei Hino nice to meet you." she bowed to him and smiled that smile made her even more beautiful if that was possible" How can I help you?"
He took a deep breath trying to make himself think again and finish the job he had to do" Yes I am here with an invitation from Mr. Chikao Saitō, his only daughter is marrying your father and they want to invite you to dinner with them and their friends in a week." he gave her the invitation and waited for her to answer Rei caught the look Jadeite was giving to her and nodded in acceptation to the invitation, the massager turned around and was about to leave when Rei said:
"I have to take someone with me is that a problem?".
"No, the invitation is plus one you can bring whomever you want." answered the older man
After he left Jadeite went to her and started rubbing her shoulders and kissing her neck" Don't worry everything is going to be ok and if not, I'm going to be there to make it ok."
The week continued like normal working at the shrine, going to school, and spending time with her friends and she hadn't thought about the dinner until that very same day when she needed to get ready.
She took a deep breath, all the inner Senshi, the Shitennou, the prince, and the princess both were there but all that she cared for was that her fiancé Jadeite is there for her and would be accompanying her to this dreaded dinner.
Looking at her outfit she smiled it was simple but beautiful a floor-length red dress ( that was a bit big but she was four months pregnant), a pair of red high heels next, she wore a pair of earrings, and a bracelet that Jadeite had given to her while her engagement ring was in a gold chain around her neck (her fingers had been swollen for days) next was some lipstick, makeup and letting her long hair fell freely on her back she was ready.AT THE SAITO HOUSE.
Her future stepmother's house was big and beautiful but it looks warm and friendly not as cold as the others she had seen before namely her father's and his secretary's houses more like the royal palaces during the Silver Millennium big but welcoming and warm even if this house was tinny compared to the enormous palaces of the old days that she had grown up in.
Everyone was outside waiting for her but Rei decided to stay hidden for a form view for a while and study the surroundings something that had become second nature to her since having her memories back and remembered her past life as a general of the Silver Millennium.
Rei searched for her father and Kaidou the two people she knew who they were.
Takashi Hino and Kaidou weren't hard to find they attract everyone's attention where ever they were and she had met Kaidou's wife once so she knew who she was but what got her attention was the family of her future stepmother.
Chizuru was quite beautiful (even if she couldn't compare to the Senshi they were descendants of gods after all) in a simple way she really liked that Rei had no time for women who had more makeup than actually face and so was her mother, both of whom seemed really close with each other.
There were also two men with them an older one she assumed was her father and a carbon copy of said father whom she assumed was her brother.
As she looked at the mother-daughter pair she felt a pang of sadness in her heart remembering the Queen of Mars, her beautiful and caring mother Rei shook her head removing that train of thought she knew she can't hide forever so Rei walked towards them.
Akari Saitō was not having a good time the dinner had gone terribly wrong from the very beginning the decorations weren't to her taste because she had allowed Kaidou's wife to hire the company and to tell them what to do, and the food wasn't great and she had yet to meet her fian-cé's daughter who was the entire reason for this dinner.
She walked to her parents and brother who were in the center of the room where everyone was gathered in wait she looked at the others that were invited to the simple dinner, she, and her family was the only ones that wore more simple clothing than hers was a Persian red that is long in the back and short on the front showing her legs and her hair made in soft waves High heels were shorter than most women wore these days and her jewelry beautiful but simple, her mother too wore quite a simple dress who was floor length and was in the color of mint green, her brother Benjiro (Enjoys Peace) wore a tux so did her father.
Kaidou's wife Keres (evil spirits) was the worst her dress was puffy everywhere gold and with about ten different colors in there it was a disaster to say her friends were dressed as the bridesmaids that they were and those dresses were not known for being simple so they were forgiven.
Suddenly every person in the room turned to the door which was opened at the entry was a girl with long black hair that looked purple in the light, her skin was flawless, and she was kind of short but had energy on her that made her look taller than anyone else in the room, she was slender but Aiko's keen eye caught the fact that she was also slightly big around her stomach, she also had the most beautiful eyes anyone had ever seen.
The dress she was wearing was simple and her extremely high heels echoed in the room, as she said, walking to say that she was beautiful would be the underestimating of the century.
The beautiful girl looked about twenty-one and was walking towards them when she arrived in front of Takashi, she curtsied in front of him and talked in a tone that was so formal and so unused by anyone her age" Hello father is very nice to see you again."
'So, she is his daughter.' were the thoughts going through everyone's mind.
Takashi was shocked she never wanted to act politely and do this kind of stuff in public before 'What has happened to her.' thought her father looking at his grown-up daughter.
But what he didn't know was that this wasn't her choice the more memories of the princess of Mars she got the more she acted like her and that meant she knew every court ethics in the book like the back of her hand and had to obey each and every one of them even if she didn't want to do that.
"It's good to see you Rei I'm very happy you took time from your busy schedule to come here thank you." his words were very honest and that surprised her.
"You remember Kaidou and I don't believe you have met his wife Keres before." Rei nodded, of course, she remembered that she had hated before remembering her past because she thought that the other woman had taken Kaidou from her.
Even if she had stopped hating her for her relationship with her Father's successor, she did hate the woman because of the fact she could sense the evil in her soul.
She forced a smile on her face and said: "Yes, of course, I remember Kaidou it is nice seeing you again." she lied sweetly through her teeth, so good no one could see she was lying.
"Yes, well this is my fiancé Akari Saitō," pointing to the woman she had seen before "Akari this is my daughter Rei."
"It's very nice to meet you Rei I've been looking forward to this for a long time." She started ranting until there was a polite cough from the younger male and she snapped from her rant "Oh I'm very sorry I rant when I'm nervous."
Everyone expected her to be offended everyone even Akari's family and Takashi and all were surprised when she laughed "Don't worry you will never talk more than my friend I'm used to it she rants even when she is not nervous."
"Oh, ok these are my parents Chikao and Aiko, and my brother Benjiro and these are my friends Atsuko, Emi, and Hana" pointing to three girls with matching dresses " And this is Izumi my brother's fiancé," she said pointing to a girl with the same dress model but different color
"Very nice to meet you," she said sincerely and she meant it they looked like really nice people and she was a really good judge of character it came with being a physic
"How about we start with dinner now that everyone is here?"
"Can we wait a minute he should be here any second he is just parking the car?"
"Who ..." Emi's words were cut short when the doors opened and a man came in, the man could put the gods to shame with his had curly golden blond hair that shined more than the sun and beautiful blue-grey eyes with so many emotions and wisdom that could make every girl's knees go weak, the mischievous smile in his pink full lips had every girl heartbeat going up, long eyelash that girls would kill for and a soft skin that shined in lights of the room every girl in there had hearts in their eyes while the men were glaring at him others thought he was good looking but they were indifferent except for Keres who tried her hand at every guy she saw.
As Emi looked at him, she thought "I've seen him before but where?"
The man was walking forward until he came face to face with Rei when that happened, he smiled and said" Hey fire angel, are you Ok?" and leaned in for a kiss when the kiss was over when they wanted some air it seemed.
He turned around and smiled at everyone "Hello, my name is Jadeite Rei's fiancé. "Seeing the shock looks on everyone's faces he asked politely "Firebird would you introduce me to these nice people?"
With a delicate hand movement that belonged only to a princess, she introduced everyone, when she had finished her father, had come out of the shock and was glaring at the man in front of him.
"What do you mean fiancé?" said his anger clear in his voice
"Why don't we sit down and talk," said Akari sensing the anger radiating from her beloved fiancé
"Yes, let's do that," said Kaidou with a cruel smile on his face
Jadeite gave him a hard glare one of those glares that in the past had made entire armies flee one sight but unfortunately, he didn't see it so he wasn't affected by it
"So, Jackson how old are you?" you could feel the protective feeling he had for his daughter
Jadeite smiled at the man he knew this man loved his daughter but he was busy and pulled away from his daughter so that he wouldn't hurt her even if he did the exact opposite as a prince, he knew what it was like to have a busy father, so he understood Rei's pain" Is Jadeite actually sir and I'm twenty-nine years old."
"Do you know she is twenty-one still a child," he yelled angrily
"Yes, he does know my age Father thank you for asking." the fire in Rei's eyes could make the one she controlled look tame
"How did you meet?" asked Akari trying to defuse the tension
Rei and Jadeite looked at each other they had decided to tell a story that combined both their time in the Silver Millennium and here to make their story more believable.
"We met through common friends. One of my friends Mamoru started dating Rei's friend Usagi when he was seventeen and she was fourteen they then introduced us when we first met Rei hated me for some reason." he finished smirking at the former Princess
"Right maybe it could have been because of the fact you were a playboy and flirting with anything with a skirt," said Rei with a smile
"I was just looking for the right woman that I found in you," Jadeite said looking lovely in her eyes
"You really have a silver tongue even after all these years," said Rei smiling at the love of her life
"How long have the two of you been together?" asked Rei's future stepmother
"Well we have known each other since Rei was fourteen but we didn't start dating until Rei was seventeen so about four years."
'In this lifetime at least in total, we have three millennia together.' thought Rei smiling at the fact that they had one of the longest relationships in history.
"It's a bit early to get engaged after so little time," said Emi
"It isn't early for me it's actually pretty late," said Jadeite's eyes shining with love for the Senshi of flames, it was easy for anyone to see that they loved each other very much.
They were enjoying their dinner in quiet when Aiko asked something that made the Senator choke on the food he was eating and Benjiro had to hit him in the back those words were "How far along are you?"
"What are you talking about Aiko?" asked the Senator laughing nervously
Rei looked at the woman who was her stepmother's mother and asked: "How did you know?"
" You haven't touched your drink and I know it's a very stressful situation if I was in your place, I would have finished three of those during this time."
The Martian Princess smiled and put her hand over her stomach saying "Four months." she was happy to have the child it was something she had wanted as Princess of Mars very much.
A child had been something they had been talking about even during the Silver Millennium and although Jadeite hadn't wanted children before he had met her it had soon become a goal for both of them then the Silver Millennium fell she died and Jadeite was imprisoned into his namesake stone and when she had been reborn he had again been sealed in stone both of them thinking that their dream was as good as dead.
"Oh," said Aiko" I still remember my first child like it was yesterday the two of you must be very excited."
"Yes," answered Jadeite looking at his soulmate" We are very excited can't wait." his blue eyes were shining with excitement and love at the thought of the child growing inside the woman he loved
"So, neither of you has a problem with having a bastard for a child," said Keres
An angry Jadeite was about to answer in a way it wasn't accepting of a prince of Earth when Hana exclaimed excitedly" I just remembered where I have seen the two of you before. You are the priest and priestess from Hikawa Shrine."
The two chuckled" No, Rei is the priestess of the Shrine along with her grandfather I just help them from time to time over the years."
"Yeah, his presence there has brought a number of young ladies who love flirting with Jade."
"Oh, my fire angel is jealous." chuckled Jadeite" You know I have eyes only for you." his eyes shined with such love that no one had ever seen before
"No, I'm not I just feel bad for the other girls they have such high hopes only to have them crushed down when you become your idiotic self."
"You know most would call that romantic and you love my so-called idiotic self."
"Unfortunately."
Hana chuckled and said," You two are just as cute as the first time I saw you."
"Speaking of that," said Akari looking at her friend" How did you know them?"
"I got a love charm from there." said the other woman smirking
"How did it go by the way?" asked Jadeite he knew those worked especially now that Rei and the other Senshi had gotten the powers they had during the Silver Millennium
"Well Akari and Takashi are getting married so I would think they worked." smirked the older woman
The next few hours passed with calm conversations and Rei didn't end up burning anything as she had expected and she ended up like her future stepmother, she wasn't her mother but when the time of the Crystal Tokyo comes, she was glad her father had someone in his life.
