Izuku opened his forest green eyes reluctantly, the air in the room felt still and the only visible movement came from the dust motes dancing in the morning light streaming in from the window. He forgot to close the standard gray dorm curtains again last night in his exhausted state. The All Might posters on the wall seemed to mock him as he slowly woke up and took stock of his body. His muckles ached, tense and sore despite the full night of sleep. A sharp pain could be felt in his sternum as he took a deep breath, his ribs felt cracked despite knowing that they weren't. His eyes had not been open long and yet he already felt a pressure behind them like someone was gripping his optic nerves. It felt like if he moved his joints would creak like a door in a horror movie. He could still feel every bone in his hands and arms and if he didn't know better he'd say his shoulders were dislocated. They hadn't had any hero training the last three days. His body felt like lead as he forced himself to sit up, tempted to let his arms give out and fall back onto the bed. He looked over at the blinking red numbers on his alarm clock reading midnight, the power must have gone out at some point while he was asleep. The joints in his hand cracked as he reached over to grab his phone, pausing to crack as many joints in both his hands as he could, he checked the time. It was six thirteen and fortunately his phone was at full battery.Using his nightstand to help, he slowly stood up, cracking both his knees and one of his hips. He was too tired to do a full yoga routine so he settled on some basic stretches, trying to crack as many joints as he could. He let out a short small chuckle when the popping of his spine sounded just like bubble wrap. He carefully made his way over to his wardrobe and opened it, the hinges making a quiet squeak as he grabbed just one of his white button downs and uniform pants. There was no use putting on the full stiff uniform so early in the morning.Leaving the first few buttons undone and rolling up his sleeves, he puts on his softest red slippers and opens the door to his room. After checking that his phone was in his pocket he stepped out into the hallway, made sure the door was locked behind him, and started making his way to the elevator. It was too early for anyone else to be awake so he let himself walk slowly, his walk looking a little bit more like a waddle as he tried to keep the pain in his legs from getting worse, or at least as much as he could.Once he was in the elevator he pressed the button for the ground floor and leaned against the wall. As he takes a deep breath as the elevator starts moving he notices to his dismay that his legs and hips feel just a little but noticeably worse. It was going to be a long day. The mechanical door opens and he gingerly makes his way into the common space.Looking around the room he notices Tenyas shoes missing from the entrance area, luckily he was still out on his morning run, maybe starting a little later than intended due to the lack of alarm that morning. With any luck Izuku would still have time to himself. Continuing his scan of the room he looks down at the familiar face sprawled across the couch. It looked like Shinso had another rough night trying to sleep.Walking around the couch he takes the blanket off the back of it and gently lays it on Shinso, the other boy's chest softly rising and falling in his much needed restful sleep. Izuku was just glad his friend got to sleep in the first place, having come down many mornings to find the other grumbling angrily in the kitchen trying to make a cup of unfortunately necessary coffee.Izuku stands up straight, his other hip popping thank goodness, and makes his way to the kitchen. He opens the fridge and reaches for his leftovers from the day before only to stop half way there, uncomfortably nauseous at the thought of eating it he grabs the milk instead, it looked like a light breakfast kind of day. After pouring himself a manageable bowl of cereal he sits down at the small island in front of the kitchen and gazes out the window as he slowly eats. The dew was visible on the leaves and grass, and despite him having not gone outside yet today he'd be willing to bet the air was perfectly crisp. The trees swayed gently with the breeze, the sunlight making everything look picturesque and beautiful. His eyes twinged a little as a glint of light hit just a bit too sharply but he ignored it, at least the dreaded fluorescent lights weren't on.Yea he got the feeling it really was going to be a long day.
