Julia's POV: "Pleeeeeeeease, please please please please please please please pl-"  I threw an energy ball at him over my shoulder, knocking Peter (who had been hanging upside down from my ceiling in his recently repaired Spider Suit), down onto the ground with a thump.  "So much for spidey sense…" he grumbled.  I smiled slightly, "My magic moves faster I guess. Or perhaps you were too busy being annoying." I picked Rose up from her bed, nap time definitely over since Peter is here, and held her on my hip as I turned to Peter.  Peter sat up and huffed dramatically, "Well I don't see why you don't wanna go with me to meet the Avengers and maybe help th-" "Nope," I held up a hand, cutting off his ramble, "I don't want to get dragged into their messes, Bug Boy. And Tony Stark really pisses me off the few times I've ran into him at work." Working as one of the many paid interns at Stark Tower/Avenger Tower had the occasional hazard of running into the egotistical man. Most would find that as a bonus. I find it a nuisance.  He's always challenging my intelligence, like it's a game or something. I hope the last time I ran into him will be the last for a long time. Already bumped into him four times in the last six months.  "Why did you accept the job then or even apply?" Peter asked, a question he's asked before and I've answered before. "Because it pays good, looks good on my transcripts, and I get the opportunity to work with Doctor Banner." I may or may not admire/look up to the doctor, okay. Even before he was known as Hulk, I was reading his published papers on everything he did. I love science and learning things.  Biochemistry, etymology (linguistic stuff), and psychology are the things I'm currently studying on my online college courses even though I'm still a Senior in Midtown high-school.  "I keep forgetting about your obsession with Dr. Banner," Peter said teasingly as he stepped closer to pick up Rose who was making grabby hands at him from where I was holding her.  "Not obsessed, maybe when I was younger, but not now. I just admire him and respect his intelligence," I state as I make sure Peter has a proper hold of my daughter. "Then come with meeeeeeeee. You can get an excuse to be around him as Violet and not nerdy and stuttery Julia," he begs, making puppy eyes.  I groaned, "I don't stutter...that much." "Only around people you are nervous around. Which is almost everyone except muwah," he said as he gestured to himself, "And Little Rosie." Rose giggles when Peter says the nickname he has for her and he smiles and kisses her forehead. "What did they even need help with again…?" I asked softly, knowing he'd hear me anyway.  He screeched happily (covering Rose's ears as he did so) before handing me Rose and jumping back onto the ceiling, moving his hands around as he talked. "Okay, so," he starts as I let Rose down onto the floor so she can play with her toys, "there's this thing that Loki is dealing with and he said something about it being an edgidore or someth-" "An egregore? Those can be real nuisances…ugh fine, let me get dressed and I'll go with you. We need to drop Rose off at May's on the way." He clapped his hands excitedly as he darted out of my room and was soon raiding my kitchen. "Don't eat the last Uncrustable or I will turn you into one!" I shouted as I heard the fridge open.  "Oh man.." I heard him grumble as I shut my bedroom door. I shook my head and laughed lightly as I pulled on my infamous purple suit, smiling as I noticed Rose playing with the toy Spider-Man May had given her for her birthday.  "That's your big brother, you know," I say softly to her as I press a kiss to her head, "How do you feel about seeing May?" I ask as her as she looks up at me with her wide green eyes. "AyAy!" She says excitedly with a clap. I chuckle and nod, "Yep, May."  💜Time Skip💜 I took a calming breath as I took one last glance at the Tower before following Spider-Man into the building, through the front doors.  I had cast an illusion onto us so no one would see us as we walked up to the door and to the elevator, right past security.  Happy seemed to sense us but couldn't see us and started looking through all the active footage.  Once Spider-Man and I were alone in the elevator, I removed the cloaking spell. "Hey, Friday? Can you take us to the lounge?" Peter asked.  The AI hesitantly responded, "Who is with you, Spiderboy?"       "Ugh, Tony again," Peter grumbled and rolled his eyes before replying, "I'm with another Vigilante. Her name is Violet. She's here to help Loki." Once again, the AI seemed hesitant but the elevator began to move up. "Mr. Stark and others are on their way to the lounge now. I've passed on the message that you've brought a colleague who can help Mr. Friggason." "Thank you, Friday," I said as the elevator stopped. "No problem, Miss Violet." We stepped out into the room and was greeted by Thor, Loki, Dr Banner, and Tony Stark.  "Kid, I see you've brought a friend?" Stark asked as he stepped forward. "Hallo, Dummkopf," Thor snorted, Loki smirked, and Banner had a small smile while Tony raised a brow at my greeting, "I'm Violet. Bug Boy said somethin' 'bout an egregore?" "Do I even want to know what she called me?" He stage whispered over his shoulder to Bruce.  "No, you don't," Bruce answered with a small smile.  "Alrighty then," Tony turned back to me and gestured for me to follow, "Let's all head into the living room and talk then, shall we?" "It won't take that long to remove the negative entity but, whatever floats your boat, Starky." Peter chuckled at my words, the others did their best to keep straight faces as we followed Stark.  "Whatever, Purple. What do you even know about an egregore?" Tony quipped as we neared the couches. "I know enough. I know how to remove it. Shouldn't that be the important tidbit?" I answer as I stop following Stark.  "She's a really powerful Witch. Got rid of some ghosts and a poltergeist at the apartments for my neighbors a few times," Peter informed.  "That one time it was actually an opossum in their ceiling, not a ghost, but whatever," I say with a shrug.  "I'm dealing with an egregore, not some little ghost. Child, why did you bring a little Witch to try and help? I highly doubt she even has enough magic to do anything if she even really knows what an egregore is," Loki states, haughty, with a raised brow.  "An egregore is an occult concept representing a non-physical entity that arises from the collective thoughts of a distinct group of people," I state, ignoring the wide-eyed looks I was receiving from everyone except Peter and Loki , "Yeah, I know what I'm talking about," I sighed, leaning against the couch arm as I stood, "You know, meeting my favorite Norse God probably wasn't a good idea. You know what they say about meeting celebrities? They always destroy the pedestal you have them raised upon," I quip.  "Loki is your favorite god?" Thor asked, slight jealousy in his face but he was mostly curious.  I shrugged, "Was. Guess I'll go back to thinking Nött is cool." "Hmpf," Loki grumbles, "Regardless of your favoritism; just because you know what an egregore is doesn't mean you know how to get rid of-" My hands started glowing purple and I muttered some words in Greek and Latin. The shadow figure (previously unseen to anyone except me and Loki), was surrounded in purple light, causing everyone to take a step back away from the nine foot figure behind Loki.  I banished the negative energy based spirit, sending its energy into the earth to be purified before then placing an 'ease sorrow and anxiety' spell onto Loki in German.  Loki squinted at me when he felt my magic touch him but he didn't get mad once he realized it was a positive energy and he gave me a slight smile, the corner of his lip turning up just slightly.  "Wait, what was that?" Stark asked.  "That was an egregore? What the hell exactly was that thing?" Doctor Banner questioned, eyes wide but curiosity and fascination clear. "Egregore is an occult concept representing a non-physical entity that arises from the collective thoughts of a distinct group of people. Historically, the concept referred to angelic beings, or watchers, and the specific rituals and practices associated with them, namely within Enochian traditions," I explained again, "Basically a…poltergeist or a Tulpa in a way. It's created off of negative thoughts, or at least that one was. And it gets stronger the more negativity the person is dealing with psychologically," I turned to Loki, "You might want to get a therapist. Unless you want your possible depression and anxiety creating another one of those things." Thor looked at his brother with worry in his eyes but Loki ignored him. "Why do you sound like a textbook half the time you open your mouth, Purple?" Tony asked. "She has a photographic memory," Peter answered for me. I shake my head, "It's an eidetic memory. It's a little different, Petey bug," I sighed, because he always says photographic. "You know his identity?" Thor asks, surprise obvious in his voice despite his curious expression.  "It took me months to track him down," Tony grumbled quietly to himself. "I made his suit. I was the first person he told about his powers because he knew about mine already. And when he decided to fight crime, I decided to occasionally help out. Though I try to leave most of Manhattan to him and Hell's Kitchen to Daredevil. Though sometimes he needs some backup as well." Peter turned to me and shook my shoulders while shouting.  "You know Daredevil! You never told me!"  I shrugged, "Oops?" I said with a chuckle. "Care to tell us who you are?" Stark asked as Peter let go of me with a huff of slight annoyance.  "Nope," I said, popping the 'p', "I'd prefer to keep my identity a secret. Hence the purpose of wearing a mask in the first place," I gestured to my purple mask, a plain version of Spider-Man's with a light purple mesh over the eye holes, runes and sigils sewn across the entire costume.  "Fair point I suppose…" Stark muttered to himself, trying to come up with a counter argument.  I sighed and figured this would be a good time for me to leave. "Well, it was nice meeting you guys, I suppose. I was hoping to meet the archer though. Maybe the next time Peter drags me here. Wanted to ask for tips on shooting. Anyhow, nice meeting you Doctor Banner and Prince Loki Friggason," I raised my hand and wiggled my fingers in a wave before stepping back into a purple light I summoned behind me, my portal to my home. Next stop will be portalling to May's to get Rose. Hopefully she doesn't throw a book this time. 💜 Peter's POV:  I sighed as the purple light vanished, along with Julia. "Damnit, she left me again. I wanna go through one of those portals and she never lets me," I grumble and stomp my foot.  "Oh quit whining and give us all the details on your little girlfriend," Stark said with an inquisitive look.  "She's not my girlfriend! She's like a sister to me. And I'm not telling you who she is. Like she said, she wears a mask for a reason, Mr. Stark." "I could give her a job like you have," he tried to bribe.  I fought the smirk that tried to pull at my lips, "Nah, she's already got a good paying job and she's in college. Not gonna bribe me into ratting out my friend. Snitches get stitches or end up in ditches. And I'm not pissing off the person who helps me survive that stupid Latin class I signed up for." "Why are you taking Latin?" Doctor Banner asked, ignoring Tony as he tried to interrogate me more about Julia.  "Because my friend speaks Latin, German, and Greek fluently, along with knowing ASL. But the only foreign language courses they were offering this year were Latin and Spanish. And I took ASL last year. I wanted to be able to make stupid puns in Latin," I explain as I flop onto a couch in the lounge and pull off my mask.  "I'm slightly disturbed that Loki is her favorite Norse god," Stark mumbled to himself, earning a slight nod in agreement from Thor.  "She's pagan, spiritual, or whatever. Loki is known as the God of chaos and mischief. Loopholes, pranksters, Master of escape, creativity, yadayadayada," I answer, "She really likes mythology and I've listened to those endless theories and rambles about how different mythos overlap and tell the same or similar stories. Like Noah's ark compared to some story with Gilga-something and something about Annunakis." "She seems to have a plethora of knowledge. She managed to get rid of the creature latched to me and then she even placed magic on me as well," Loki, speaking for the first time since she left, caught everyone's attention as he perched calmly into an armchair.  "She put a spell on y- oh now, I got that stupid song in my head again," Tony grumbled, "Peter, why did I let you talk me into watching Hocus Pocus?" He whined. "What kind of spell, brother? Need I track her down to reverse it?" concern filling Thor's face as he summoned Mjolnir.  Loki dismissed him with a calm wave of his hand, "No, no. Don't fret, brother. It was merely a protection spell against negative energies. Felt like someone basically zapped some of my negative thoughts from my aura. It was quite nice actually," he chuckled quietly. Tony looked at Loki with wide eyes, "He laughed…Loki the grumpy emo kid frickin' laughed. The world is officially ending this time." "Why's the world ending?" Bucky asked as he and Steve stepped out of the elevator and into the lounge.  "Apparently the thought of me laughing is a sign of the end times to Stark," Loki quipped.  "Hm," Bucky hummed with a mostly blank look, raising a single brow, "Why were you laughing? Evil plot?" Steve snorted at Bucky's comment, and Loki smiled at him as well. "No, actually. I was laughing from relief and amazement. Peter's little witch friend helped me get rid of that insufferable spirit and then put a spell on me to relieve some of my negativity." "Ah, that's interesting. Are we talking about that Indigo girl?" Steve asked with curiosity on his face. "Her name is Violet- her Vigilante name, Tony. Her real name isn't Violet," I informed Tony who was starting to try and look up teenagers named Violet in the area.  We really should've come up with a better Vigilante name for her. Violet is way too close to her middle name… "Is he trying to figure out who she is?" Bucky asked as he finished munching on the leftover French fries he was holding from his lunch with Steve.  "Yes, because someone won't tell me," Tony said with a pointed look at me.  "Snitches get sti-" "Stitches or end up in ditches," Tony finished, "I know, you said it already." "Then quit asking me to give up my friend's identity," I said with a huff of annoyance.  "It isn't that hard to figure out who she is. You've got two ex assassins on the team, Stark. And Loki could probably do some magic thingy to find her, right?" Bucky commented as he flopped onto a couch across from me.  "Actually, I already tried to track her through her magic and I hit a lot of wards and backed off. Besides, I wouldn't reveal her secret if I knew anyway. I quite enjoy secrets," a mischievous smile tugged at Loki's lips.  "Well, you still have me and Nat. How hard can it be to track down a young Vigilante?" 💜 Bucky's POV:  "Son of a bitch!"  I swear as I jump over yet another privacy fence that Violet just levitated over the top of and I continued breathing heavily as I chased after her.  "Regretting your words of how hard can it be, Cyborg?" Stark quipped through the earpiece. "Shut it, Stark," I grumble between breaths of air.  "I'm going to try and cut her off by swinging around 43rd street. Just keep chasing her," Natasha informed me through the piece. "How do you know where-" "GPS in the ear piece, Old Man," Stark answered for her.  I rolled my eyes and continued chasing Violet until she stopped. She was now floating between me and Natasha, who was sitting on her motorcycle and aiming a gun loaded with knockout darts.  "Easy way or the hard way, Violet?" Natasha called out to her.  Violet laughed and fell through a purple light and vanished.  "God damnit, Stark. You forgot to mention she can fucking teleport!"  "...oopsies…well, it should make it more interesting, aye?"
