In the heavy rain, there is not but pieces left, before the swift Diamond was the very fragment of his partner's being, Pink Topaz...He mulls over having to hold onto the pieces; letting himself go, to be swept away by the Tsukijins. Ultimately however he grabs what he can and with his swift began to make quick work of the Tsukijins — raising his sword to deflect the trajectory of arrows, narrowly avoiding the hail in order to land a blow — and when he sees it, fwoosh, the strike has landed.Within him was a sinking feeling, something that after he's made quick work of the Tsukijins made him feel frozen; dazed at the sight in front him, the clusters of his friend, his sibling. The rain didn't make him feel cold nor did it give him that chilling sensation, instead it made it hard for Yellow to tell where he went wrong in trying to protect Pink Topaz...There is silence, but in his head was full of noise, chatter and worry. The rain falling from above his head, into betwixt his eyes almost made it synonymous to tears.
"I need to...report..." Words began to fall out one by one, mouth shaking and his eyes darting from left to right; he gathered all that he could see and returned to the School. To the sight of Pink Topaz's fragments, Rutile unworn the supposed serenity if he wasn't looking upon the remains of his kind. Yellow was silent, seemingly unshakened but such things has happened over and over, it's become almost second nature for him to wince, or even just look shocked, and fazed. This is his agony, no matter how hard he tries to protect his partner he thinks that it will always eventually happen; the oppurtunity would always creep up at the neck of all his perils."So, Pink Topaz too, huh?" The Doctor placed the little parts of his sibling in a bowl, he took one good look at Yellow and focused again on finding a container for the pieces."Have you told Master yet?" Rutile inquired, "No, not yet, just wanted her to be safe first, you know."
"Even in such a state?" "There's no problem in that right?" Yellow replied, there was an evident clamor in his words; the silence betwixt was growing uncomfortably abundant and a gallop of internal guilt made him depart from Rutile's station. As he walked futher away Rutile sighed, glancing at the pieces and covering the bowl with a white sheet — just like how Yellow has before, he's overcame many things even his age apparently so he bet that Yellow would be fine soon anyway."Master, Pink Topaz is..." though that Yellow has always been so bold in reports like these, his head felt heavy with sheer pressure and in lieu of being able to finish the report he was sighing heavily with no progress in his words."What happened?" "She's gone... Master, I'm sorry." he replied quickly like something shot within him.Adamant had heard these such reports from him a few times already and after the 4th time he would think that it would break Yellow in some sort of way, though that the gems are incapable of letting some things go. The goodness within his heart made him believe Yellow is mighty strong. He caressed Yellow's hair and asked him the details of the fight — on how Yellow was just not fast enough, and that Pink Topaz was way too far from reach thus even if Yellow tried to recover the pieces even a fierce diamond like him would get struck down in the hail — Master insisted Yellow to take a rest for a day or two but of course the words "I'll be okay, Master." reverberated throughout the conversation.//Yellow finds himself alone in that very night. A few inches away from his shadow he could see the gleam of an array of bright colours. "Hey, Yellow. How are you holding up?" "Me? I'm alright, I hate to admit it but you know I guess it's always bound to happen. Honestly, I don't even know why we even fight anymore." he raised his head up, looking at the ceiling, knowing it was Diamond beside him, he felt at ease and cackled briefly to himself"But hey, you'll be out there in no time, Yellow ! I believe in you." "Oh yeah? Is that so? Don't need to worry about me, I'l always be out there no matter what." Yellow seemed much more casual in her tone and his thoughts from earlier has began to mellow, like the moonlight before both of them.
"Hey, by the way, Zircon, they wanted to talk to you, that's why I'm here — they were kinda shy so they asked for my help ! Hehe."
Yellow looked back at Dia "The young one? Why's he still up this late?" He rests his back on the pillar and he eyed the color of orange from behind Dia peeking out to him."Well, I guess he'll be the one to explain, I'll let you two be." A smile was written throughout her face, she tucks her arms behind her and walked away slowly — now revealing that behind where Dia sat was Zircon — the short-haired gem was fidgeting with their fingers. He had his head down and each second he would take a look at Yellow, he'd lower his head again if Yellow was looking — so Yellow started the conversation"Hey, Zircon. What's up?" A light-hearted icebreaker that finally made Zircon halt in his jitters."A...ahh ! Yes ! Um... I wanted to help but I don't know howwww !!! I'm sorry !!!"
"Huh? Pffft... I'm fine, Zircon, what do you mean?" Yellow taken slightly aback from his manners — he laughs in contrast of Zircon's timid nature — Yellow saw something adoring with that, in his head, it's still kind of funny how someone young would reach out to him and try to help him.
"I want to be your partner !" The words Zircon hurled like bombs only made Yellow feel like tins were thrown at him; he began to wonder why would Zircon want to be involved with him at all? It gave way to the confusion and doubt he's been holding back, with such an imperiled tone Yellow asked why Zircon would want to partner up all of the sudden. The Diamond could feel an absence of light squirming its way along his neck; sighing but looking away enough so that Zircon wouldn't see, he stood up and returned to Zircon with a smile."Well, Zircon, it's way too late to think about like that now, get some rest, yeah?" Walking past Zircon with nothing else said.
"Right ! Then... I'll be ready !" A reply to Yellow as soon as he's far enough, though he couldn't help but think that maybe he surprised his senior a bit too much.//And when the light of the sun was shining through the school like weaving curtains, Yellow sought refuge and peace in the breeze — he sat there in the bench, soaking in the day — as his Master has insisted him to rest. He shuts his eyes, ignoring the world, thinking why there's even a fight included in their daily lives. The thought rolls around his head like a pearl and in a way it's a light that's never been set off from the wick; he isn't what he used to be, he feels... surrounded, but by what? The breeze crept up in him again and when he opened his eyes, he could see an orange gleam fluttering in his sight nearby a pillar."Zircon? What are you doing here?" As he called out he could hear Zircon yelp like a child, for a short moment he completely disappears but after a while he shows up and sits alongside Yellow, hoping to reignite the conversation from yesternight."I-i didn't think you'd a-actually be here but when I saw you... I-" "You what? Ahahaha, it's alright, Zircon. Why? Did you wanna say something?"
Zircon nodded
"Yellow... I know it's kind of rude but... are you really, well, okay?"
"Am I okay? Pfft... ahahahahahaha..." Yellow cackled for quite some time, wheezing even and once he's finished he breathes in and he puts his head down slightly, the stem of his elbows by his knee."Zircon, is it really any worth to let you know when we're so incapable to let things go?" Yellow mulls over his words carefully, giving a sigh and in his tone that sounds like he's been asked the question many time"I-I'm sorry. I-""It's alright, Zircon, I'm always okay, really, but sometimes I'm..."
He looks up and this time a sigh heavier than before.Yellow can feel Zircon's gaze of worry clawing away at him and he looks back at the orange-haired gem beside him."Even if I tell you, Zircon, what would I be able to do? Whining won't bring anyome back."
"If you tell me... I'll be there." Zircon leans closer and tugs at Yellow's glove, "When Master was teaching me stuff, I've always wanted to be your partner, but... but"
In that moment Yellow pulled Zircon's hand, he puts Zircon's hand at his own hand instead."But what?" "You were too cool for me... so fast, and you're a diamond, and I'm just, me, I could never amount to anything like you." His eyes were a mess and his face was shriveled up like crumbled paper."Don't you...
ever,
tell yourself that, Zircon." Yellow sincerely gives in and embraces himThere was nearly-silent shrieking heard, Zircon held his brother closer and buried his cracked face deep into Yellow's chest."Oh, Zircon, hey, tell you what, I'll be fine with you partnering up with me, but please... promise me you'll never doubt yourself again, okay?"Zircon nods, "Behind that shining smile of yours... do you ever get upset like, I do?" he inquires in a muffled voice"No, no, of course not, honestly, I would sleep it all away, but sometimes it's unbearable, you know." replied Yellow as he caressed his younger kin's hair."Then I'll be with you all the way... and I-" Zircon bobbed his head up at Yellow's face but he shushed him and giggled to himself."Zircon, you don't even have to try you know? Having you here, it's enough for me." Such endearing words from the older brother, to Zircon, they were seasons, a warm season of humidity and with no rain nor clouds that pollute the skies.
//After the inception of their partnership, Yellow has felt better, less lone and yet the memories of his bygone partners will never leave his mind, like relics.Soon he thinks that his Zircon will be cut short so even with Zircon, he treasures the moment he held Zircon by his chest.
That day was like a slow falling feather, it made him feel at peace, it was more than just a rest, it was the feeling of home.
