Inuyasha was hunting that afternoon, he wasn’t in the garden close to his mom and her servants, no! He was in a very deep bamboo forest the branches making strange sounds in the wind, on all fours with his nose to the ground he was trying hard to hunt the biggest and strongest animal he could find to give to his mom as a trophy until he smelled something new, he never encountered this smell in all his long life, he was 4 and knew the world very well by now, how could he never encounter this smell before? What was it? He needed to find out!From the veranda Izayoi was watching Inuyasha play in her private gardens, he was too absorbed in his mind to even hear her calling him for snacks, but that was okay, her gardens were safe, nothing that could be a danger for her little hanyou could be there, so she resigned in her cushions and put herself another cup of tea.Back to the garden, Inuyasha was following the smell, it wasn’t youkai he knew that because he didn’t feel any youki close besides his own and her mother’s servant, so what was it? It was a little dirty, smelled like some male animal, but what kind of animal? He could hear that it was running away from him on four legs, that sound looked like paws, but it didn’t smell like a normal dog… What is it??He was fast approaching the limits of the garden, ahem , his forest, so he needed to wrap this up and catch his prey soon or his mom would be mad at him, looking around and listening intently he decided to go up the closest tree to see if he could have a view of his prey, and there it was, the strangest dog he ever saw, it was fluffy, orange in color, had triangular ears just like him, it really walked in four paws with little claws that resembled his own, his tail was fluffy like the rest of him, Sesshoumaru had a fluffy tail too right? So, what is it?With all that information in his little hands, Inuyasha could only reach one conclusion, it was a strange dog! The poor dog was deformed somehow, maybe it was a type of hanyou too? Can normal animals have hanyou pups like youkais? He didn’t know, but he found the strange dog funny and wanted to play with it, so… How to proceed?Well if it was a dog like him he just needed to be friendly right? With this thought in mind, Inuyasha slowly descended the tree and approached the strange dog, he was on all fours, and when he was close enough the creature looked at him, the hanyou sustained the look of the strange dog and slowly approached audibly smelling it, he didn’t get anything new from this close, he had an excellent sense of smell his dad said! But that made the creature calmer and they let out a strange sound like a meow, he never heard anything like it!Suddenly it started to make a purring sound, what was that sound?? Inuyasha sat on the ground, cooked his head to the side, and listened attentively to the sound, it was relaxing, and he liked it very much.The strange dog approached him now and jumped to his lap, Inuyasha decided to pet their ears as his mom do to him and the purr sound got louder and louder!! What a strange creature indeed, he decided it was going to be his pet.Sesshoumaru has a two-headed dragon now, why couldn’t Inuyasha have a strange dog? It wasn’t even and youkai pet! Indeed, it was easier to get his mom to agree right? His dad didn’t even say anything about his older brother dragon, he wouldn’t oppose one more dog in the house, right? Even if this one was a little strange….So, with all the conviction he needed and a plan ready in his little head, Inuyasha took the strange dog to his lap and carried it to meet his mother. He presented his new finding along with his best puppy eyes and dropping ears that no one could resist, Izayoi seeing that her son bought something else from his playtime was a little bewildered “Baby where did you find a cat? I never saw one here, it looks so fluffy!”In just one breath Inuyasha tells her “Mom what’s a cat? Wait I have something more important to ask! Can I have a pet?” He shows the animal from another angle so his mom can see it a little better “I found it in the back of the garden! I want to stay with him, say yes pleeeeeeeeeease! I’ll take care of it! Sess has a pet so I can have one too! It can be in the stables like sess dragon but this one is mine, not his! Please! Please! Please! Pleeeeeaaase Mom let me stay with hiim! He is cute, strange, and makes a good sound, I like it! Pleeeease!”“Breathe Inuyasha, please, calm down a little, but… oh dear… I don’t know… there is a reason why we don’t have cats here, you see your father he…” She was abruptly interrupted by the loud sound of the shoji door opening quite violently “What the hell is this foul smell? Who let a cat inside my house?!” A very angry Touga yells to everyone on the veranda“Dad! This is my new pet! Mama told me to call it fluffy!” Inuyasha says happily without noticing his father's anger, elevating the cat now in Touga’s direction so he can see better the great pet he chooses.“Inuyasha let me get this retched foul-smelling thing, we need to get rid of it, I’ll kill it and throw it away, give it to me!” Touga tried to get the cat out of the boy’s hands only to fail when Inuyasha clutches the cat to his little chest and starts to cry, he runs away from Touga and hides behind Izayoi crying harder.Izayoi looks displeased at her husband “Anata please be gentler to him he already loves the little thing.”“But Izayoi I can’t stand that thing in my house! That’s the enemy”
Rolling her eyes to her mate Izayoi says “Hardly a common cat is the enemy.” She turns to Inuyasha “Baby is this a youkai?”“No mama! It is my new pet!”“See anata? No danger at all” She turns with a smirk to her husband who in her opinion was being too dramatic about the whole matter.“Inuyasha you can’t have it! Cats are the worst beings in this land, they are vicious and horrible creatures! I won't allow you to bring the enemy to my house!” Growling low Touga goes around Izayoi and looks directly at the offensive animal with contempt.Inuyasha with teary big puppy eyes responds "But Papa this is not that cat you said! It is a strange dog, and I'm a strange dog! We can be friends!"That stopped the daiyoukai's attempts to get the cat “What are you talking about son?”“It has four paws, like Papa and Sess, is fluffy like Papa and Sess, it has a fluffy tail like Papa and Sess, it has claws and teeth like Papa and Sess! And it even has ears that look like Papa’s and mine! The smell is different from other dogs like mine is different from inuyoukai, so it is a strange dog like I’m a strange dog! I don’t know what the other half of him is because common dogs can’t be with humans and he doesn’t smell like a human too but, anyway he is a strange dog like me, so I’ll keep it as my pet!”Touga’s hatred goes away in a moment, and he looks dumfounded at his son “Inuyasha… you... what?” he was at a complete loss for words.“I’ll be good dad! Let me keep it, he will be a good pet too won’t you strange dog?” Inuyasha said looking fondly at the animal.Touga slowly sits behind the pup, he runs a hand nervously through his hair asking, “No son, what did you just say you are?”“Ahh me? I’m a strange dog too! So, we can be best friends!”“Where this came from? That you are a strange dog?”“But I am! I can’t be a full dog like Papa, Sess, and Kimi mama, I know I’m not normal Dad, so I’m a strange dog!”Touga ignoring the cat cradle Inuyasha in his arms holding him tightly, looking at him in the eyes he says “Son you are not strange, you are different, but not strange, strange is something bad, defective, something or someone that isn’t in the right place or do not belong in this world and you are perfect, you are strong, you can do so much in this world and I’ll help you to be stronger even than me!”Satisfied with the whole convo Izayoi decided it was time to get rid of the cat “Inuyasha, baby, give me the cat please.”“No mama I’m gonna keep it!” Inuyasha squeezed the animal too tightly and it scapes his holdShe collects the poor cat from the ground “I’m going to dispose of it” Going in the direction of the shoji door she pauses to look at her mate disapprovingly “without killing it! You two can go take a bath, I know your father can’t stand the smell, and I’ll meet you two there, okay?”“Mom, are you going to give him to people that will take good care of him?”“yes baby I’ll”Resigned with not getting to properly dispose of the enemy Touga picks up Inuyasha “Come on boy lets go to the bath”“NOOO I DON’T WANT TO BATH I’M NOT DIRTY I HATE BATHS NO NO NO NOOOOOOOOO” Struggling desperately Inuyasha tries to flee from his arch nemesis the bath. But Touga was used to it by now he knew exactly how to convince Inuyasha “If we go there flying you’ll keep me company then?”“Flying? I want to fly!!! Let’s go!!!”
