drew never liked being alone.he loves the presence of the people he loves and trusts, he hates alone. he hates being away from them for too long, he hates not hearing from them for a while, he hates it.when jake started hanging out with the music club, it was like seeing the most important thing of your life fading. drew is sure that even if it was not jake he would’ve still felt upset and left alone.because everyone he has befriended and still is friends with is an important person to his life. seeing someone leave is like a kid losing their favorite toy.now jake and him are dating.he’s happy but anxious that history will repeat itself. he shouldn’t be thinking that, especially when he is sitting in his bed with jake on his lap. talking about a new song hailey had written for the music club to sing.he must have been zoning out since jake had brought his hands to cup jake his cheeks.‘’drew?’’ jake called out this name and carefully tilted his head to properly look at him.‘’yes?’’ drew breathed out, placing his hands on top of jake’s and caressing his palm with his thumb.they stared at each other for a few seconds, their breathing slow but steady.‘’you’re thinking too much again.’’ he mumbled as he slowly sat up.they were face to face now, drew his eyes looking everywhere. jake, the lamp on his nightstand, pictures of him and his friends, a plush, his tv, everywhere. he was anxious, jake could tell.‘’what are you thinking about.?’’ jake asked, grabbing his boyfriend’s hand in a comforting manner. ‘’don’t say nothing, your eyes are acting as if they’re having an epilepsy attack.’’drew huffed out a laugh and slightly shook his head. he may be a bit anxious about jake leaving him but he remains a dumbass. his boyfriend is a dumbass, a big one that is.even if he is one the dumbest people he has met, drew can’t afford to lose him again.‘’i love you too much.’’‘’too much?’’drew nodded his head. ‘’i think about you too much, my brain is rotting.’’jake tilted his head in confusion but hadn’t let go of his hands. a smile slowly crept on his face, drew watched as his cheeks turned pink.‘’i love you too.’’ jake said as he pulled drew in a hug, purposely putting a bit too much pressure so that they laid on the bed again. ‘’to the moon and back drew.’’the moon and back. drew smiled softly, staring at the ceiling as he wrapped his own arms around his boyfriend as well. they stayed like that for a bit, simply enjoying the warmth of each other. no words exchanged, just them.“drew.”drew hummed in response, trailing his right hand to jake his sunset hair.“you know i won’t leave you, right?” jake mumbled,leaning on his arms to stare at his boyfriend’s face properly.his expression was unreadable. drew’s face was completely, an expression jake has yet to figure out what it means.“you better don’t.” drew muttered as he narrowed his eyes to the suddenly very interesting wall. “sometimes you get me worried though.”“i do?” jake asked as a frown formed on his face, drew couldn’t help but laugh at the expression. “dude don’t laugh and be stupid, please. tell me.”he doesn’t often talk about his feelings, it feels a bit corny. usually his emotions are expressed during an argument or whenever he is frustrated with someone. now it is different and he’s glad jake is listening to him. it makes him feel a bit sick in the best way possible.a small smile appeared on his lips, his cheeks painted with a hot pink. “yeah, i’ve been worried i guess.” he said softly, removing his hand from jake’s hair, trailing it down to his back instead. “i’ve noticed how attached i get to people.”“didn’t you make fun of that character with abandonment issues?” jake snickered and poked his boyfriend’s cheek.“i do NOT have abandonment issues.” drew grumbled. “way to ruin the fucking moment like your lame ass always fucking does, jesus.”“you’re in denial.” before drew could argue, he felt jake’s crusty finger on his lips.“i hope you believe me when i say that i will never leave you.” jake said softly before pressing a kiss to his forehead and removing his finger from drew’s mouth. “i love you.”jake loves him.drew brought his hands to jake’s face and cupped his cheeks. slowly, he brought him closer to him before pressing his lips against his.their lips move softly against each other. drew felt at ease for today, he smiled in their kiss as he caressed jake’s cheeks.drew loves him too.their night was full of games, eating chips and kisses.
